Andor season 2, episodes 7-9
Episode 7
This is getting more and more ridiculous with every arc. You're telling me this guy sitting on his ass on Yavin playing house with his wifey two years before the events of R1 is the same person as that Cassian?
Ohh Syril is about to defy Dedra's orders and get in the way of the operation and also get himself killed, possibly by her hand
"Maybe you're the place he needs to be." Lol I'm afraid that's a miss ma'am
Bix is Force-sensitive?? That sounds like a joke spoiler.
"Let it in." I TOLD YOU SAW WAS USING THE SAME LANGUAGE AS THE FORCE-SENSITIVES USE FOR THE FORCE
"The day I need permission to come and go, I'm gone." Ah yes, this is surely Mr "I was following orders" from Rogue One 🙄
"We're not Luthen's puppets anymore. We're not a bunch of maniacs running around Aldhani. We're building a real army." Yeah and this show was supposed to show us how they got from that point to this, and instead it happened during the timeskip.
Why are they having this fucking conversation out in the plaza… Stays in the same hotel, talks to the same guy who remembers him perfectly… Great opsec here
Episode 8
Oh my god THIS KID is who gave Cassian the line "Rebellions are built on hope"?!?! Oh no he's so dead now
We're finally getting to K's origin story?
I'm having JFO flashbacks from these fucking droids ðŸ˜
RIP Syril, you were almost at a moment of clarity but the show isn't about that. I'm glad that at the end of the day, the show didn't forget that Syril is still a man who's physically stronger than Dedra and feels entitled to her. The first season had the scene where he stopped her on the street, which was iirc the first time we saw her scared, and then the scene where he rescues her, which also had her shaking in his arms. And now he became a most typical domestic abuser, strangling his girlfriend in a moment of anger, and being miles above him in the space nazi hierarchy did nothing for her in that moment. Adds some real complexity to his almost mini redemption/regret arc within the same episode.
Dedra's grief/panic attack at the end was excellently acted.
Episode 9
The Ghorman anthem overlaid on the opening theme made me tear up.
Whyyyy is he saying the word "Yavin" and all that other stuff out loud in the middle of the crowd surrounded by 5234151 other politicians?..
I don't understand why Mon is so upset that her assistant has been working for Luthen. Sure, she disagrees with his methods, but ultimately they're on the same side.
For a sec I thought they killed Luthen off screen…
Everything was going so well and now there's another Man And Housewife scene -_-
Are they seriously fucking saying that all throughout R1 Cassian had a wife out there waiting for him? Genuinely this might be the most appalling anti-shipping retcon I've seen all my life. The only one that compares is, funnily enough, making Luke and Leia siblings, but that was Lucas undercutting his own writing.
Last season, I complained that both the characters and the narrative treat Mon like a money faucet rather than a founding member of the Rebellion. 3/4 into the second season, it's still the same. None of the material before Andor gave me the impression that Mon was totally cut off from all of the actual Rebellion activity and just showed a uselessly liberal face to the public while laundering money. It's still unclear whether the showrunner considers the ROTS deleted scene to be a part of the same continuity. I guess not. "Welcome to the Rebellion"?! SHE FOUNDED IT, YOU DIPSHIT. At some points it really felt like the narrative itself was looking down on Mon for being "soft".
This arc has been an unusual experience because of the outside knowledge I did and didn't have. I have learned about the existence of the Ghorman Massacre as a canon event (or two) from the reactions to the first arc. I haven't seen Rebels, so I learned that it has an episode where Mon Mothma gives a speech about the massacre and joins the Rebellion openly also from the internet. As a consequence of this, while the double heists of episode 6 gave me so much anxiety I couldn't bear to watch it, my reaction to the pre-written doom of Ghorman was dulled by the cold confusion of how they were going to make it worse than landing a spaceship on top of a crowd. And I spent episode 9 trying to figure out how it would tie in with an episode I haven't seen from a show I haven't seen. I was seriously expecting to see at least a glimpse of someone or something from that show! (Mon's assistant notwithstanding.) The internet tells me there was a soft retcon; I'm probably not curious enough to watch the Rebels episode and find out the details for myself.
It's surreal to see how good this show is at so many things, and how bad it is at being a prequel about Cassian Andor from Rogue One.

Hello there!
There's a few ways to go about having shaved sides on a wig.
A popular older method is to use short faux fur on the sides. Here's a tutorial on that.
Another method is to use a wig that is very densely wefted for the sides. You can purchase one (Arda sells a few, including an undercut style wig with the short sides already in place, as does Assist, which has a wig that is entirely made of the very short hair so you can combine it with your longer wig in a customized pattern) or you can add wefts to a wig and then cut the wig down very short.
Another method is to combine a wig with a bald cap if you need the sides to be very bald. I've found partial wigs meant for this purpose online, or you can cut out the parts of a wig you don't need, stabilize the edge, and glue it over a bald cap.
Yet another method is to purchase skin pieces (sounds creepier than it is!) that can be shaved down for a stubble look. These are basically plastic with the wig fiber punched through like doll hair that can then be added to where you need on a wig to create the shaved look. You can also shave patterns into these. A few sellers have these, but most are Japanese -- Classe has some meant for exactly this purpose but requires a shopping service, and Assist has pieces meant for adding a skin top to a wig but can be trained to go in the direction you need with a hairdryer --but the caveat is that they only come in light skin tones. If you need a darker tone than what is available, you miiiiight be able to get away with dyeing just the skin part with a dye meant for polyester fibers, though I've never tried it.
You can also try purchasing lace pieces and ventilating yourself or buying pre-made lace pieces and using those and shaving down the hair, but since these are transparent, you would need to be very careful about hiding your actual hair underneath (bald caps are useful for this). Classe and Assist sell these with light colored lace, and Coscraft (a UK-based seller) sells them in three skin tones. I'm recommending cosplay brands because I don't know what color you need and these brands have unnatural colors, but if you need natural colors, especially darker natural colors, look into daily wear wig brands such as those sold at beauty supply shops (or online beauty supply shops for cheaper prices), often aimed at the Black women demographic, because you can find lace wigs there as well.
I hope that helps! Good luck :]
Does anyone know how i could turn Dagur's hair into a wig? I wanna cosplay his RTTE era but his hair... is so insane... i have a photo of my sorta break down of it but Tumblr won't let me post photos?? So, uh... anyone know how to do shaved sides/insane mullet type wigs?

I'm going to be real with you all, I like to retcon Blaze's introduction out of Sonic '06, despite the fact that I like to keep the gist of it as Silver's origin story.
This is because '06 really does Blaze a dirty. At best she's an accessory, at worst she's a victim of fridging. She doesn't really have much to do until the end moment of her sacrifice, a sacrifice that's shown to be in vain anyway when the timeline gets reset. Her weak character introduction in this game is nuts when you consider it in contrast with Silver's memorable introduction, and that's before the addition of contrasting lore from Sonic Rush.
Furthermore, her inclusion in Silver's future actually undercuts him as a character as well. Silver's main themes are about desperation and loneliness. He's never known a world at peace and he's willing to do anything to change that. If he was alone in his future, it would make his actions so much more impactful because he would have nothing to lose and everything to gain. If he'd never had any friends, it would make more sense why he would trust Mephiles without question despite all the red flags. It would add such a thematic "oomph" to his character, you know?
However, this doesn't mean that I don't like their friendship.
I like to imagine that they're still friends with a very specific understanding of one another- one is constantly being displaced in time, and the other in space, as I like to imagine Blaze's Sol emeralds having a nasty habit of jumping dimensions using a very similar method to the Chaos emeralds jumping in time. This causes Blaze and Silver to run into each other often as they travel.
The first couple times this happened, they both thought the other was an intruder who would destabilize the time-space continuum. Their first meeting left her with a few broken bones and him with some pretty bad burns. Over the course of a few more brawls, though, they figured out their differences and have been fast friends ever since. Whenever they're travelling across time and space using the energy of their respective emeralds, if they happen to run into each other, they pop a pit stop and catch each other up on how they've been.
#silver the hedgehog#blaze the cat#sonic 06#sonic rush#canon is a suggestion anyway#but I much prefer blaze's sonic rush background#but I mean blaze IS the best character in the snapcube fandub#so at least we got that?
