My current thoughts and theories on Xavier, Sylus, and the potential general directions of Zayne and Caleb’s future Myths. I posted it in a long ass comment on YouTube and I don’t want to lose it 😭😂 my Notes app isn’t reliable and neither is my google docs. She and They are a mess.

May have spoilers for main story below but very vague.

Mc and Caleb have Adam and Eve vibes, but it won’t be the only biblical representation in the book. I am so impressed with the writers of LADS. As the main story has unfolded more, I’m beginning to understand more about how the current universe came to be and who each player is kind of representing as a commentary towards the world around them.

Sylus has more underworld/hades/ fallen angels vibes. It would make sense for Xavier being his counterpart too

1. Sylus centers a lot around greed and sin, but does have a strong sense of right and wrong

2. White and black feathers represent him and both are imagery surrounding him

3. “the Black Church”. That is all.

4. He refers to himself as a Fiend, not a dragon as a much. Even in his Myth he refers to himself as a Fiend

5. His overall theme is typically exposing “good people” for what they actually are. He’s also extremely misunderstood much like Lucifer

6. Your honor, the man is BEAUTIFUL

7. Lowkey wondering if red is actually his original eye color or if that became his eye color when he was cursed BUT he could have had the Aether core in his eye before since he was maybe an angel of Judgement.

8. Maybe he was told to kill MC and couldn’t do it? Maybe he fell in love with her or she was being doomed to death without any real reason that made sense to him so he fought back?

9. He was probably cursed and turned into a half dragon and cursed to kill his beloved which led to his dragon myth

10. Xavier would then be on the flip side- he is like the poster child for pointing out the system is corrupt and being hunted by the CIA over it while also supposedly being the poster child for this “good” why am I now thinking about Sylus x Xavier x MC

I have to think Caleb’s will be somewhat in line with Zayne’s since they are supposed to be similar but opposite in regards to their story in regards to MC. Caleb’s story was really centered on apples and life. There is this thought that Zayne’s powers of creating life as the Master of Fate was taken from him by Astra for protecting MC and somehow that connects to him becoming the Forseer and losing his powers in that way and becoming cursed.

Caleb’s current timeline “myth” highlights how he has become the opposite of what he was in their true myth- he wants to be a protector but he became her cage instead of her freedom and instead of her choosing to be bound to him (die together), he was trying to force her into being by his side again willingly.

Caleb’s is more emotional and mental health based and I think you can see that in his ancedote as well since they mention numerous times that he was unable to pass his psychiatric evaluation whereas Zayne’s is much more bio physiological and cursed based (I.e. waking up as another person, Astra evidently has wanted MC to be dead for a hot second now if you take the myths at face value and Dawnbreaker wants to kill MC per the recent story update).

I will be curious to see how Rafayel’s counterpart is to him. I think it may have something to do with lightning (I just hope it’s not some fuck ass Zeus shit, I don’t care what that Swan says, I’m not having sex with it) and/ or it could be a character based on the Giant, Polyblotes who opposed Poseidon. I believe he was associated with earth but don’t quote me on that.

I think, if the trend follows, then each LIs “rival” will be the opposite of the other but also very similar in overarching themes.

Also is it just me or does Jenna have strong Athena inspired vibes? She has to have a full character model for a reason.

Just finished re-listening to ch&t for the third time and here are some things that I noticed !!!

Major spoilers obviously

I noticed something that actually adds more credibility to my limn theory!! (for anyone who doesn't know what my limn theory is, it's a theory that the phenomenon known as "the limn" is what caused the sky to change color, everyone's memories to be all weird, and all the other weird stuff that happens in the ch&t universe, and that it was caused by the resurrection of Sydney.) In The Eggs of a Basket Case, Elijah says this:

"Life itself was blessed by your rebirth"-- This, to me, implies that his resurrection was what caused the universe to, well, turn upside-down.

Also, another thing that kind of supports this was something he said in The Basket Case of the Nurse's Building:

Maybe I'm reading too deep into this but I feel like him saying "no more apocalypse" is him saying that if he, ahem, finished what Jedidiah started and killed Sydney, the apocalypse would end and the affects of the limn would reverse? I.... don't think that's how that works, but Elijah has a very flawed way of thinking overall. So. You know. But it still supports my theory! Yay!

Next thing, this line from The Clock of Meantime really caught my eye:

It seemed random to me on the first two listens, but now I think I know why he said this.

In The Muse of the Elephant, Elijah reads this line from Jedidiah's journal:

I think this ritual was kind of a "test" of the resurrection ritual. I think he wanted to try it out on a pig first before using it on Sydney, in case anything went wrong. Later in the episode, Jedidiah describes being horrified and disgusted by what he'd done, so it makes sense that he might've formed a bad association with pigs, therefore not being able to eat pork anymore. IM LOWKEY SO PROUD OF MYSELF FOR THINKING OF THIS LOL

Last thing (I think), why did it take me SO LONG to realize that in this scene in The Meantime With Eggs, Adam is describing the caves under camp?

What he describes sounds a lot like an overgrown cave, which is what the underground tunnel system is. The mention of the hospital bed seems to be a reference to the nurse's building, the caves being under the camp (which includes the nurse's building). And the short, stiff feather is probably hinting at the penguins. WHY DID IT TAKE ME SO LONG TO REALZIE THIS??? IT FEELS SO OBVIOUS NOW??????

Aaaanyway I think that's all. I feel like I'm missing something, but if I remember anything I'll add onto this later.

I was wondering what you thought about all the bird references/imagery in relation to Claudia. There’s a video where the interviewer brings up some of the bird references and originally Delainey didn’t see it, but as it when on she was like 🧐. There’s definitely a lot, but I think there’s one that people always miss. I never see anyone mention that in the first season when they’re coffin shopping for Claudia, the one she chooses is called The Feathered Nest or something like that (in fairness the name was on a card that was in frame for like 3 seconds). Another one I don’t really see mentioned is the parallel between that scene where Lestat tells her she shouldn’t find other vampires because she’s “build like a bird” and the scene where Bruce breaks either her arm or her leg (I can’t remember which). Also, I know Louis never really liked Armand’s plays, but I think he especially didn’t like Claudia’s first major role because it reminded him heavily of Paul (the way he died and his bird-centric delusions). I’m not sure if Armand did that on purpose, but it’s hard to see a world in which he didn’t since he admitted to going through Louis’ mind.

I have put some thought into the argument where Lestat talks about how easily she'd be destroyed because she's "built like a bird" and the bird symbolism surrounding her first major role. I do think some of the intention behind that role was to acknowledge/almost make fun of Paul/Louis's trauma. There's so much to break down over the way that Claudia's role reflected Paul's death.

I agree with you that I'm not sure if this is something that Armand did on purpose or if it was just a coincidence meant to create tension in the plot, but it feels too on the nose for it to be something the writers did for fun, especially because Armand did go through Louis's mind. My only issue with this 'theory' is trying to think of a concrete reason for Armand to want to put that much effort into reminding Louis of Paul so publically, but I do see how this could have been Armand hinting at the extent of his awareness to see Louis's reaction.

I also think this interpretation of Claudia's role could also be considered as a form of foreshadowing Armand's willingness to choose the coven over Louis. Armand crafting a performance around Louis's memories of Paul briefly turned a part of Louis into a source for the coven's sustainment. The events of the trial sacrificed another part of Louis (Claudia, and almost Louis himself) for the sake of sustaining the coven, just more blatantly. I might be overthinking so if that doesn't make sense ignore me 😭.

Considering Paul's bird-centric delusions, I'm curious if birds are meant to not necessarily represent Claudia, but meant to be an omen of true death.

Also, in some mythologies, birds are connected to vampires. I've read that in roman folklore, the basic idea of a vampire was incorporated into something called a "strix" which was a mythological bird associated with bad omens known for feeding on human flesh and blood. I'm not an expert on this so I could be interpreting this wrong, and there's always a chance I'm overthinking, but it's interesting to think about.

I just found your feather au today and I love me some feathered bois and less human features on non human characters. I just had to draw him (with my own headcannon of draw demons having sharper teeth farther back)

As a side note, I had a thought about him having lordosis or “swayback” every time he removed his tail. His body not being ready for that loss of weight and balance his tail provides. He’d probably have a lot of back problems and pain that he hid from everyone. As well as his skin just generally being red and bumpy (like chicken skin) so everyone probably thought he just had a bad complexion. When the others find out that all those little quirks they’d mess with him about were the result of his self harm, they’d probably feel horrified and really bad. And Mel being who he is doesn’t blame them one bit (even if it kind of hurt when they did it)

Birds in general are some of my favourite animals though, so I might be biased XD Also, that close up of Mels face with the hair clip looks super cute!!!! And I see those little claws and the pointed ears, I also really like those^^

oh yeah, the swayback was definitely not fun to handle for Mel, especially not the first time he cut it off and probably kept falling over and over. He got used to it eventually, but he probably never gotten used to it 100%, which would probably earn him a bit of a reputation of being a little clumsy.

As for the pain, he's probably tried just about every kind of painkiller there is. And acting like a human, meaning "doing what humans do", is probably making both the pain and his back problems worse, but he just bites his tongue and tolerates it, because it's either that or literally being hunted down by those around him. By the time he's in Liones and is captain of the Seven Deadly Sins, he's still unwilling to risk it, especially knowing Bans and Kings "complicated" history with demons. I can imagine though that this makes him more withdrawn than in canon, since bearing the pain is extremely tiring. He might've also come to associate "being with others" with "being in pain", since he has to do things in a way that are not just not natural to him, but also painful.

I can imagine Merlin brewing some kind of skin care cream for Mel and trying to get it right, but it just won't really work, so the best she can do is get rid of the irritation, because even she doesn't know that that skin isn't supposed to be "naked".

When everything about Mel comes out bit by bit, the sins are in for a ride though. Like, their captain is a demon? Ban has some internal conflict and King loses his shit, but it ends up being more or less fine. His "bad skin", occasional clumsiness, and lowkey antisocial behaviour are the result of years of constant self-harm, self-mutilation and necessary hypervigilance? They regret every single word and joke they have ever spoken about it. And it's not like Mel is gonna be like "well, they already know, I might as well tell them about the rest of it", no, they're gonna have to fight him for every single bit of information, including the fact that regular human beds aren't exactly the best for him. Kai would consider Baiheng and Jingliu to be similar to those two rich aunts who don't stop fussing over you. The kind you go to for sleepovers when there's a big family outing at their house the next day. However, he will say he has a bit more favoritism towards Baiheng because they're gossip buddies and Jingliu lowkey scares him.

Shiwen and Tsuriko are borderline sisters to him. He was their wingman when it came to their not-so-subtle crush on each other. Now he's the non-related uncle to their son.

Dan Feng and Yingxing were basically his dads. Yingxing started out as his best friend and turned into his step-dad after getting close to his actual dad. Kai consideres Yingxing to be a better dad than Dan Feng despite knowing him less.

Dan Feng is....not someone Kai associates himself with anymore.

Kai doesn't know if Dan Heng would be his brother or just a stranger. He doesn't dwell on it.

Kai is pretty close to Tingyun, going as far to be her gossip buddy after Baiheng died. She has also offered him products to keep his tails and feathers shiny and soft.

Jing Yuan was one of Kai's closest friends. They were very very close, but after the sedition....they rarely spoke to one another outside of work. Sometimes Kai wonders if he had simply taken advantage of an opportunity when presented to him whether or not they would still be close. He wonders if Jing Yuan still longs to speak to him the way Kai does.

Defining life event

The day it all fell apart. Holding Yingxing's bleeding body, the deep wound in his shoulder, Baiheng crumpled under her crashed Starskiff, and his father's disapproving gaze through the pouring rain.

Kai is not a violent person, but when he lost his control during that fight, unleashed the fire slumbering beneath his feathers, suddenly everyone was scared of him and a caricature was painted.

Sometimes he still has nightmare of Imbibitor Lunae's angry eyes, glaring down at him.

Little does he know, his father wasn't glaring at him, but rather at Yingxing.

the snake and scarab detailing on his chest-and-arm piece. snakes can symbolize rebirth and transformation, which is very fitting for jamil. he sheds the skin of who he was acting as in the past and puts on the mantle of the part of himself he's been repressing this whole time. the scarab in ancient egyptian was a sign of resurrection and transformation, which, again, is fitting asf. (also snakes are associated with lies, evil, and temptation, which is so true, go apeshit my boy-)

n then his shoulders...the blot ink running down his arms. i just think that it's a yes from me. no but i wonder sometimes if the blot ink is sticky. like it's all over their hands, so when they touch something does it leave behind a trace ? or does it cling to their skin ?

lastly we have his feet n shoes. i love how the dress ends in tatters btw. it gives him a more rugged feel and shows you he isn't a monarch from the beginning, rather that he started from rags and worked his way up. which is kinda what happened, he was birthed into a servant family after all.

i love love love the point in the shoes !! once again, it's a homage to jafar bc he also wore pointed shoes. n making them out of blot and studded with these red stones is just *chef's kiss*

And sometimes you like to take advantage of it

He likes to groom you by brushing your hair or trimming your nails, he’s actually very good at mani-pedis

So you’ll return the favor by brushing his hair or trimming his nails and it causes him to be a blushy mess because his heart is pounding and he can’t believe you want to groom him

You’ll even take it a step farther by cleaning or fixing his feathers

It’s a big deal in the bird world when two birds groom each other, it means they’re very close

His face was completely red but he managed to stutter out an answer while furiously nodding

So when you guys started dating his blush reappeared whenever you’re around

But it wasn’t the type of “oh god I just wanna hide” blush

It was the “everything they do is amazing” blush

You’ll sometimes come up and give him a surprise kiss on the cheek

Ok, I'm going to use this question to answer a few of the Ladies related questions I got. Thanks to all of you for the positive feedback on that theory, I really appreciated it!

Starting with you, anon.

1) About Scarecrow

You know, after making a full analysis on the Ladies and getting a good look at each one of their rooms, both in the Residence and in the Nest, I think I agree.

The question now would be, who was she pushing away?

An obvious answer would be (her) Mono. As I previously established: a Lady of the Maw cannot exist unless a Thin Man creates her and a Thin Man cannot exist unless he's betrayed by said Lady. Maybe she regrets leaving him to his fate? The Eye paintings are quite prominent in her section.

Or, this could be referring to the other girl.

I theorized that Scarecrow may have had a sister who ruled the Maw alongside her. Not only that, it might have been one of the others as well.

The candidates to fit this role would be Tengu and Teapot. I lean more on the latter.

Tengu is tecnically the second in line, following the order we previously reconstructed, yet I also mentioned that she and Scarecrow may have been interchangable because you can choose to retrieve them in either order. They're the only ones to which this rule applies; Fox will always be first and Teapot will always be last. Plus, Scarecrow's pedestal is taller than Tengu's, effectively making her the second.

Another thing I think is worth mentioning is that, in the way to reach Teapot, we have to pass over the two armchairs. Reminiscent of when Teapot had to sneak past the sisters, perhaps?

Then, when we do get Teapot, to leave the room we have to once again sneak past Tengu (albeit it's her false persona).

Lastly, I wanted to mention that Red and Blue have always been opposites. It would make sense for Scarecrow to dislike Tengu, especially considering how drastically different they behave. For example, while Scarecrow prefers to hide away from the monsters and ignore them, Tengu actively engages with them and pretends to be a monster herself. I could easily see the Lady in Blue be either disgusted or irritated by this way of handling things.

On the other hand, we have our other candidate, Teapot. I do believe it's less likely, but pictures of one of the girls in the paintings (the one with long braided hair) are seen in her area.

Of course, it's also possible that Scarecrow's possible sister is not one of the other Ladies and was someone else entirely.

This lowkey got me thinking though.

If the "Lady & Thin Man coexistence theory" (yes we're naming it lads), is true, then this means that, if there were two Ladies governing the Maw at the same time, then the number of Thin Men wouldn't line up... because one Mono accompanied two Ladies. Consequentially, our Mono would be the fifth Thin Man and not the sixth, and the number 6 on the Thin Man's door was indeed referring to the number of Ladies.

Now I can't help but wonder how such an event would go down. My guess would be that the Thin Man of the time only took one of the girls (maybe only one of them was wearing the yellow raincoat?), awakening her Hunger which would then lead her to become the Lady while her sister helplessly watches and follows.

Mh. I have to think this one through. The concept is really interesting though.

2) About Fox (and Six)

" You know given how Fox mask Lady was able to have children be comfortable in her presence and how she likely died a gruesome death, maybe she was the type to continue on being kind and caring despite what she experienced as a kid and becoming the Lady of Maw? Her horrible death is definitely her being punished for still being kind since the world of little nightmares is where kindness will make you suffer and guarantee certain death. " - anon

I do think she met her demise as a consequence of her gentle nature. But in her defense; if the order is correct, then she was the first Lady ever. Maybe she wasn't aware of the cycle/loop. I'm pretty sure she died at the hands of her successor after trying to offer her kindness and shelter.

(Another thing to think about: the rip on her statue kind of looks like a bite.)

People who try to be kind always get the worst possible outcomes in the Little Nightmares universe. Once again, that famous achievement expresses the core belief behind this world: "Kindness will be your undoing!"

And talking about achievements... the other day I was on the wiki reading the achievement list - as one does - and something caught my eye.

Little fox.

In the achievements, Six is referred as a couple of small animals that relate to her in some way. For example, she's called a "little canary" or a "sneaky rat". Both connections are obvious: the canary is a bird with bright yellow feathers and rats are considered vermins - which is how Six is seen by the monsters.

This only draws more paralleles between Six and Fox, who have been stated to be quite similar in many ways.

3) Additional Color White Meaning - Teapot

That is absolutely correct! Then again, this begs the question: who or what could the Lady in White be mourning?

Again, maybe (her) Mono? Or perhaps she's mourning her own lost freedom?

Out of all the Ladies, current one included, Teapot really seems to be the most depressed about the whole situation. It's really heartbreaking considering how her coding made her out to be an innocent, pure hearted, happy go lucky soul.

4) About Scarecrow's and Teapot's masks.

So, personally I do think they kept wearing their masks, even if they're a little peculiar.

You have to keep in mind that people wearing masks is kind of the whole "brand" of the Maw.

When Six gets there every single employee and even some of the guests are wearing masks, with the only exception being the Granny. Then again, the Granny is a contractor, not an employee. She kinda does what she wants and no one can really stop her, which is really funny in my eyes.

Plus, Scarecrow is not the only one we see wearing a sack on her head. We have the Hunter as well! So I wouldn't say it's that uncommon.

Teapot's choice of mask is way more goofy, bc let's be honest. An extremely powerful force of darkness going around with a teapot on her head? But then again, it lines up with her innocent nature.

It's a stark contrast with the current Lady, who is so refined and came right after Teapot.

5) Lady Six design? An headcanon, I guess!

I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS ONE!

I actually may have to correct you on one thing before we go though: if the girl in this portrait in the Lady's quarters is infact a younger Lady, then it's safe to assume all Ladies before her wore a yellow raincoat as well.

Perhaps that's their signature clothing, like Mono's paper bag. Paperbag and yellow raincoat, always together.

Moving on!

Yes, I do agree on Six's kimono being yellow. A darker shade of the Lemon color - like how the Lady's kimono was a darker shade of Tangerine - would be PERFECT. Lemon is usually associated with Awareness, Enlightenment and Alertness, which I think would fit Lady Six. She finally realizes how things work in this world and how she was just a pawn into the Eye's plan all along.

As for the mask, I actually thought about it for a while. I don't think it would be the same as the Lady's, because they're really different from each other, but I still think it would have something to do with Noh masks.

Personally, I settled on the Ja mask. It's badass and scary, something I think Six would definetely wear.

(Btw, I tried searching for what Noh mask could be associated with the Lady's. I found several, but the Fushikizō may be the best candidate.)

6) Same person from different dimentions?

" Random thought but what if the ladies and Six actually exist similar to the movie "Spiderman: Into The Spiderverse", where they are actually a different version of The Lady brought into Mono's dimension to continue the cycle? Some of the masks seem to hint the presence of other worlds, AND Six's connections to previous mask owners. Six herself is also hinted to be from a different world as well, as she is labelled to be "awaking in a world she cannot recognize" " - massive brain anon

OK BUT THIS ACTUALLY MAKES A LOT OF SENSE???

And this actually explains why Mono and the Thin Man would be drawn to her! It's still his friend, but a different version of her! Especially after we've established how the human children are all lured from other dimensions in the LN universe... Wow. Good thinking, anon. This way, the selection of the next Lady is not casual and actually makes sense all things considered.

Everyone is based off of the card they’re associated with

Beast-kin tend to have magic that lets them look human (three forms; 1: anthropomorphic beast, 2: human with animal ears/wings and tails, and them as a normal human—I’ll be focusing on the animal aspects)

Just because they can do glamour magic doesn’t mean they can do other types of magic.

They still have their familiars, don’t worry.

If you wanna reference for the first form, just watch Beastars. The design is pretty similar (mainly thinking about the birds)

Asra

This sly fox :)

It’s probably because of my ties with anime but I imagine him like a multi-tailed fox

It’s purely so that you have more tails to cuddle and snuggle with.

You know how when foxes are in the snow they leap into the air then get their whole upper half stuck in the snow?

Well, when Asra hears something they want to catch, or they’re playing with Faust, they sometimes just... well....

It’s funny to see honestly.

Lowkey acts like a dog sometimes. They Loves the pats and chin scratches he can get and will whine until you give him more.

Sometimes you wake up to their tail(s) in your face. Good or bad, you decide.

In most folklore that have them, foxes aren’t exactly trusted, so often, Asra uses his glamour to make himself look like a human. However, when a customer runs unsavoury or maybe there’s just some mean brat that he wants to scare, his shadow still shows off his ears and tail(s)

Cuddles??? Cuddles!!!! Foxes are just so fluffy... Asra is no different. (In fact he might just be even fluffier)

Hate to delve a little into angst territory, but as a child since he was an orphan and all, Asra probably learned to basically act like a dog or a cat depending on the person to get more food, or to convince them that they’re a harmless beast-kin.

Nadia

Design wise, I love humanoid bird designs with their wings doubling as their arms and hands. Don’t ask me how this works logically right now we’re talking about crazy fantasy elements anyways, let me have this.

One thing I cannot get out of my mind is:

Nadia has her back to Lucio and he’s just talking and chattering nonsense. Then Lucio says something insanely stupid or offensive and whoever is talking to Lucio can see Nadia behind him just—

Whips her freaking head around 180°

It’s worse if she’s somewhere dark cause then you just see two red eyes coming into view as she slowly turns to glare at you.

Our queen is proud of her pretty talons, honestly probably spends a day sharpening them with Portia.

Goes out flying with Chandra at dusk if she has the time, and if you can fly (via spells, wings, a broomstick, etc.) you’re welcome to come along

Super accurate hearing. Honestly. It’s hard to hide an injury from Nadia even without her being an owl but she hears you Yelp in pain on the other side of the palace and she’s there in minutes.

Pretty problematic when she has headaches though :(

Preen feathers with her!! She’ll love having you card your fingers though her feathers making them less itchy. You’ll often help her preen after a bath, but honestly she’ll appreciate the sentiment anywhere but during an important meeting. It’s hard to concentrate when you’re providing her such wonderful affection.

Please don’t make owl jokes. She doesn’t like them. Sometimes she just avoids saying “who” so people don’t make that annoying joke. (It’s Natiqa’s favorite joke to make please spare Nadia the pain.)

Julian

This is a happy raven ok? HAPPY. no birdie in a cage, ok?

The look we all know is probably his second form leaning to the first. Nadia’s would look somewhat similar

Crows & ravens are pretty dramatic birds. Reminds you of someone doesn’t it?

Idk if Edger Allan Poe even exists in this world, or any variant of it, but if it does... ooohhh if it does... this guy is totally gonna recite the poem in a dramatic flourish, and when he’s drunk you can sometimes find him chanting “ever more” same applies to any and all raven/crow themed media.

Screams. A lot. “Caw, caw b**ch” or “quoth the raven: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA”

Once convinced a bunch of birds to just go n take a dump on Lucio & his statue. He helped the servants clean when the work was dumped on them but they all agreed the bleat he made was hilarious(more on that later)

Shiny thing collector. Portia tried to get him to clean his stuff up but he has since bribed her out of it with a ball of yarn.

He and Portia make an odd pair of siblings, they’re still pretty much the same though. Crows are kinda just cats with wings.

Speaking of, their familiars are the same animal as they are!

So sometimes Julian scoops up Malak and says in a dramatic fashion (because however else would he say it) “I’ve found you my long lost brother! Oh how I’ve missed you!”

Portia does the same (more on that later)

Because his sister is a cat, Julian sometimes does a lot of cat-like things. (Case in point, he bleps. Tongue just kinda left out after yawning or something.)

Flies around with Malak often, like Nadia does, and sometimes carries Portia around with him. Will do the same for you if you want him to, sometimes if you don’t want him to as well. Expect to be grabbed from the ground and flown up into the sky at some point.

Bread. Boy loves his lobster claws but bread is a close second. “Aww yisss motha freaking bread crumbs”

Sometimes on a bad day, he just walks in dragging Pepi behind him who has her mouth latched on his tail

Portia

(If this were modern times) “you know, like, nya~!”

Look. Portia is so sweet to be around. But take that plus PURRING? And a soft as all frick FUR?

Honestly I think that sometimes when with Nadia has a bad headache, Portia purring is a great way to calm her down. You—you lucky MC, get to fall asleep to that.

She falls asleep on your lap and you are stuck there. Bound by a rule that transcends time and space. Her purring does little to aid the fact that YOU NEED TO PEE. The universe does not care of your internal tides, for your lover, who is also a cat, rests in your lap.

When she’s chasing down Julian for something stupid he often yells about being hunted. All in good fun!

“Mazelinka!!! Portia’s hunting me again!!!” “I wouldn’t be chasing you if you’d just clean your stuff!!!!”

Small boxes are her jam! Julian hates them, and like other birds doesn’t like closed spaces, but Portia loves em.

Good at squeezing into and out of tight places. Which is really helpful for sneaking around, curiosity killed the cat, but satisfaction brought it back.

Swishy swishy tail.

Cast a little light spell for her to case down. She loves it, you love it, Pepi loves it— everyone wins! (Except for the furniture she crashes into)

Yes, she has picked up Pepi before and yelled very loudly for Julian to hear (often after he’s made the joke of his long lost brother Malak) “Oh Pepi, you’re my favorite sister!!!”

On a bad day, Malak may be found in Portia’s mouth. He’s completely unharmed if only a little ruffled, but it’s gotta be a pretty bad day to find her doing that.

If Camio is in her mouth it’s same business as always. She won’t kill hem either but if Mr. Sh**bird doesn’t shut up she’ll make him shut up. You don’t even know why he keeps coming back.

Not all cats like cuddling, but like Pepi, Portia LOVES it. So long as you’re the right person and not someone unpleasant.

Please don’t step on the tail.

As much as she doesn’t like baths she still does properly was herself. She just really doesn’t like it when her fur is all wet and clings to her body. Do you have a spell to dry her off quickly? Please use it. Save her the misery.

Muriel

pretty sure he’s even bigger as a bear. Like, it’s probably because of the added fur but— woah... Big. Bear.

Big arse bear with scars is SUPER intimidating buuuuut you saw him sitting in the sunlight with Inanna once, just napping in the sun. He looked so peaceful and so dang fluffy!!

He enjoys headpats and gets very flustered at belly rubs. He’s seen you do so to Inanna many times probably kinda wanting you to do the same to him though he would never willingly admit it.

When you two get closer expect to spend some time with his head in your lap. Pat his head rub his ears, Inanna may get jealous if you don’t also provide her attention

Just don’t let him fall asleep there, he’s gonna have a sore back later and you’re going to have numb legs.

Hunting, swimming, carrying you, this boy can do it all.

Unlike his usual(cannon) self, Muriel probably doesn’t carve any bear statures. The only one he’d have was probably a gift from Asra. Carves birds, bunnies, foxes, and wolves instead. Does NOT carve goats. Never have never will.

Again I hate to go int angst but Muriel probably wants to get his claws removed somehow. It’d hurt and it probably insanely unsafe, but they were used as weapons before and its one of the things on him that everyone is afraid of. If he could he’d probably try to change his teeth too.

Show him that claws aren’t something to be feared. They don’t have to be a weapon. They help him climb and hunt food and sometimes to even carve wood. Like humans and knives, his claws aren’t bad or inherently evil, and neither is he.

Giant. Teddy Bear. You will be getting hugs and falling asleep with a Giant Teddy Bear.

He probably keeps in his mostly human form though, because he stands out less that way and he looks a little less intimidating.

Short little bear tail on his butt. Plz don’t touch, he’s going to be blushing so hard if you do (let’s be honest, that’s all the more reason to do so)

In “Milady Just Wants to Relax” Beast-kin are feared as monsters and I don’t think it’d do Muriel any good to have to live with that kind of fear from everyone. However, when you come around un afraid and eager to provide head-pats, but patient enough to let him get comfortable with it, Muriel will probably start using less energy to try and glamour himself.

Sometimes he’s so caught up with you that when you go to the market together he forgets to cast a glamour. While some do get scared off most of the people who you buy from are only a little surprised and take things in stride. They still treat him like he’s human, and he’s forever grateful for that.

If I could write a beast-kin version of his route, the moment you and Muriel meet Morga is probably when you first realize he isn’t human. And it’s because Morga pointed it out.

“Why didn’t you fight? As a beast you’re stronger than them.”

He knows you’ve spent time with Asra but he probably assumed they kept it hidden from you most of the time.

Just love him please. Platonic or romantic doesn’t matter, just give him headpats and belly rubs and boop his nose. Keep him assured that you aren’t afraid of this giant teddy bear.

Lucio

We know of both first and second forms. They’re pretty much cannon, but just not a ghost.

Which means you finally get to pet the fluffy white fur.

This also means his horns can do an irritating amount of damage.

Also he’s so much more noisier now

It’s fun to make him bleat a lot. He tends to bleat when embarrassed. If you’re topping him expect a bleat every time you pin him to the wall.

Tries to butt heads with EVERYONE. Please stop him, Lucio is the only prey animal in the lineup!

Seriously, how has he survived this long?? Muriel is a bear! he could just.... chomp.

Portia too for that matter, if she realized that Lucio had forcefully given Julian the plague, Lucio would be forever running from a feral cat.

I know he’s probably skilled in fighting or whatever, enough to take down various fantastical beasts, but stiiiiiiilllll.....

Grouchy bias aside, Lucio is really good at climbing. Like I’m pretty sure he’s a sword fighter so just imagine him leaping onto ledges in order to get the high ground.

Still uses eyeliner. I don’t know how since he has fur sometimes, but yeah, he still somehow uses eyeliner.

Honestly he probably keeps in a mostly human form or just entirely human form for that reason exactly. It’s just easier to look good when he’s more human.

But if you wanna pet his luxurious fur then he is all but willing to take on his goat form. In fact, if he turns into his goat form around you (which is always) he pretty much expects you to brush his fur or just run your hands through his fur. He will whine very loudly if you don’t.

Spare everyone else’s ears (especially Nadia’s) and just give him the head pats.

okay, so, here's the gist, it focuses on the chosen of the golden three, the priestesses of Nayru, Farore, and Din. Who are Zelda, Link, and Impa respectively. bc im lowkey tired of Ganondorf. Zelda is not royalty, she's doesn't have any connection to Hylia besides her connection to Nayru.

They each have the piece of the triforce that corresponds to their patron deity, But they also have added blessings given by the goddesses. Like Zelda has the power of foresight and can kind of see the future and elemental power associated with her deity.

The AU is also set before the 10,000 years before BOTW as the priestesses become the guardian spirits of the springs aka the dragons in botw.

Each part of the trio is associated with their own tribe that still worships the ancient gods, Like Link is Zonai, Impa is Sheikah, and Zelda is part of an unnamed tribe that lives in the Lanayru Mountain region. They all have a bunch of sacred tattoos that mark them with a more religious role, although they generally aren't just religious figures. Link is still a warrior and Zelda is still a kind of scientist.

I wanted to have Impa instead of Ganondorf bc I wanted to touch on the idea that Power itself isn't inherently evil, even though it can easily corrupt. Also i think in OoT it was hinted that she was the one that was supposed to have the triforce of power and I thought that was cool. Also I wanted more women with power in zelda sue me.

As for designs, I haven't drawn them all out yet but I will, Link has longer hair and is still as much of an enby as possible, with his place as the priestess of Farore, he generally doesn't wear a whole lot of armor, his ceremonial robes are inspired by a more ancient greek/ roman aesthetic, lots of draping fabrics and the embroidered borders have a nature/ electricity theme. His colors range from a forest green to turquoise with pale gold accents. He wears gold makeup and has a dragon inspired ceremonial sword that he has on him constantly. He also has a cloak made from the hide of a golden lynel that symbolizes his courage and skill on the battlefield. He may look cool and is covered in scars but he's still the same nerd that has the heroes spirit and everyone is surprised by how kind and likable he is. Farore's sacred animal is the dragon so he has a lot of dragon imagery on his clothes and tattoos. I also want him to be a bit of a ginger so he's a little pale and covered in freckles which isn't super common amongst the Zonai, but not unheard of. They are descended from the tribes of the Twilight realm so bright red and orange hair is common but lighter skin is not.

Zelda and her tribe is more inspired by indigenous groups that live close to the arctic, so she tends to wear lots of furs and long cloaks with some hints of Nordic/ Scandinavian inspired details. She has more of a bird/ owl motif which manifests in feathered jewelry and tattoos that highlight things like wings and talons. Her color palette is dark rich jewel tones of purple and red with silver ornamentation. She has long dark brown hair that she wears in braids with the hair tail things like TP Zelda. She also has a lot of water/ ice imagery with her clothes and tattoos. She has a ceremonial bow and arrows and is a pretty good sharpshooter but she rarely uses them.

Lastly, Impa, she has the benefit of having the Sheikah already being a canon tribe with clear japanese influence. So, because of her role as a religious and a military leader, she dresses differently than most Sheikah. When in times of peace, she wears a long kimono that's mostly rusty reds and oranges with black and ivory details. When in times of war, she wears sheikah armor that has the same color scheme, but is more extravagant to show her rank and importance. She also has a big dramatic cape that she obi-wans when she goes to fight. She wields dual swords and has a fiery motif on her clothes and tattoos. I feel like with all the history and myths of ganon, she would try to distance Din from all the pig imagery so instead, her animal symbol will probably be a bear (or a Lion?) I'm not sure.

The priestesses live at their sacred springs but they visit each other often, as the golden three are connected to each other. Whether this be begrudging or in a polycule way, I haven't decided yet. I think it would be funny if they didn't like each other at first but It's also kinda funny if they're fated to be romantically involved.

For ceremonies that include the entire trio, they have certain ceremonial garb that is mostly white and parallels the colors of the dragons in botw. Like Link wears white and gold/ light green, and Zelda wears white and light blue, and Impa wears white and orange. They also each have a headpiece/ crown that mirrors the horns of the dragons. This all symbolizes balance and unity and all that. Mostly I just think it would look cool.

I originally meant to make some silly post ranking the S supports but the more I thought about it the less the proposition made sense [A semi silly Thinkpiece]

To begin with there’d more than one obvious metric by which to rank them-

First there’s the one’s that are just plain nice romantic writing - Dorothea, Ferdinand, Ignatz, Dimitri etc. all get fairly emotional ones. Seteth I too to an extent...

Then there’s the ones that maybe aren’t super romantic conventionally, but that you’re gonna love because you love the character and their associated tropes and gimmicks - This is probably the most subjective metric. For me this might be Edelgard, Linhadrt or Hubert, for someone else it might be, say,  Sylvain or Anette; I’ve certainly read of ppl being totally taken with either of em XD

I don’t get the people who complain about those because there’s nothing worse than romantic writing that dissolves into generic ritualistic interactions as soon as the characters get together. After all you wanna get with that character because you like their personality, right? So of course Edelgard would be kinda understated and talk about your accomplishments together. Of course Claude will go take care of world peace first. Of course Hubert doesn’t bring a ring - it wouldn’t be true to them otherwise. This sorta stuff makes them all feel more real which means that, as with real people, they’re not gonna be everyone’s cup of tea.

Likewise the above ones are romantic bc the characters involved are romantics and it’s the same in their other paired ending - despite his challenges, post-character development Dimitri is kind of a dream husband as long as you’re cool with his level of emotional intensity and are someone he can see as respectable, though even with him you can easily imagine a sort of person that would just not work (basically anyone who resembled the other two house leaders)

While #2 is looking at it more or less from the perspective of self-inserting, another thing you might consider is not so much who you wanna get with but who would make the best match for, or have the most interesting dynamic with Byleth themselves, which would probably be one that breaks the usual patterns isn’t one-sided and sorta click with them in particular.

The standouts here would be Felix and Edelgard simply because they have the most in common and there’s a clear two-way connection/affinity from day one, Edelgard of course lowkey pines for them in almost every timeline, and regarding Felix, I particularly like the non-AM ending where they go off to be mysterious epic warriors together.

In the next rung of the tier list we’d have Dorothea and Linhardt who ostensibly care alot about them specifically and just have neat interactions. (Dorothea worrying about them after their transformation, Linhardt being super glad to see them post timeskip and basically defecting largely because he wanted to see them again etc.) Also Lorenz kinda has a fun dynamic that also sorta hinges on Byleth being Byleth  - This only really picks up stream post-timeskip, before he’s way too immature and doesn’t really see commoner ladies as an option, but the war brings out his more sensitive, fearful side and you can tell that he finds it pretty reassuring to have this tough badass leader person around, with the result that he’s just all sorts of weak and adorable.

And while it’s not quite as glamorous or poetic, Raphael’s A and S supports are also worth a mention just ‘cause he worries alot about what Byleth themselves wants to do and comments on how they seem to get roped into doing a lot of stuff (which seems to be a consistent character trait doesn’t Sothis at some point scold them for going down the path of least resistance a lot?) So he seems like he could be a good counterpoint to their lowkey aimlessness in a whole different way than, say, either of the house leaders with their big visions.

Of course here too there are various different philosophies regarding compatibility. You have a sort of ‘birds of a feather’ appeal with Edelgard, you have Dimitri for fans of the ‘opposites attract’ trope and Claude with a  ‘mutually complementing each other’ kind of dynamic.

I guess any of the main trio would have a headstart here simply because there is more material to work with since their respective dynamics are built up a lot either way.

Melody is the eldest twin of former space military cadets, Jim & Kate Hawkins. and by eldest, she is older than rhythm nebula hawkins by roughly 15 minutes and holds onto that piece of information like a crutch

Born on Montressor at the original Benbow inn, Melody is quite literally out of this world, as was their entire family really. The life on Montressor was peaceful and quiet ; till fire & ashes smothered the childhood home & taking the family for all that they had; only managing to save a few small belongings as the family fled from the atmosphere on their ship.

there was nothing tying the Hawkins to montressor after sarah, melody’s grandmothers’, passing the year previous and thus, the star faring family decided to test their fate once more amongst the stars.

eventually ; they settled on auradon. greeted warmly by all the people, they were allowed citizenship on the premise that they were the heroes of their story. but then again, isn’t everyone the hero of their own story?

they bought a small plot of land on a cliff south of notre dame and built themselves a new life. the family was happy & content, their past of starfaring as much a fairytale, gone but not forgotten, as everyone elses fates.

the New Benbow Inn as it was creatively named was melody’s home, and the only home that she really remembers. it was soft & warm, and always filled with a variety of characters. But will all the villains trapped on the Isle of the Lost, all of said characters were remarkably good people.

Melody spent her childhood looking after the inn, entertaining guests with her bright and bubbly smile. but she was clumsy and often caused more trouble than help around the inn, and eventually was taken off waitressing duties. determined to be a help around, melody, ever the jack of trades, began to learn other hobbies; such as singing, and baking, to help pull her weight to keep the family business afloat.

One day you’ll rattle the stars;

Ever since they were young they were told stories of outer space; of pirates and treasure planets; and melody wanted to touch the stars more than anything else. And Jim and Kate said one day, one day they would. They just currently didn’t have the money to buy or build a new ship capable of doing so.

So melody started to tinker outside her shifts, and save up her tips to buy cogs and bolts to rebuild the rusting solar riders in the basement.

Sure, she wanted to reach the stars, but the ever curious mind knew that there was way more to auradon than they’re tiny little inn. so she tinkered away on this little air glider, planning to fly it around the kingdom, using it as a delivery service, or help anyone in need

like the angel she is, but most importantly, Earn some more cash so she can take the solar rider outside the atmosphere and finally touch the stars that she has in her eyes.

One day, Melody didn’t see her twin brother during his scheduled shift. which was annoying because it meant that she had to cover for him, and as mentioned, she was a terrible waitress

but it’s a twin sense thing that she just knew something was up, her first break she went down to her garage to find her solar rider gone. there was an obvious explanation, she hoped, he’d bring it back soon, she hoped.

a week went by with no word, so she threw together a makeshift glider with a barely functioning engine and hoped for the best.

but the best never came, she saw her brother in the air after only an hour of scouring the coast. their screams could barely be heard above the oncoming storm, but they could feel the anguish in each others souls, the deep unexplainable pain built in their bones.

the next feeling was fire. and falling. a sudden gust of wind threw the two ships together, or at least, that’s how melody remembers the crash before the burning and the breath leaving her chest, and the sharp pain in her leg, and the stinging as her back hit the water.

the next sensation was heaving water out of her lungs on a ship, a crew of friendly sailors — or was it pirates? had literally fished melody out of the water, that she had fallen into like her childhood name of comet.

luke & crew took melody in, though with some trepidation from the crew before hand, melody tried to fit in with her incredible baking skills, tinkering talents, and space shanties.

it was fun ! for a while ! until melody remembered her parents had no clue what happened to them; and also,  was her twin dead ? where was he ? what happened ? also her leg was lowkey turning green and the limp she was developing was a tell tale sign she probably needed help.

luckily, her new found family were more than happy to drop her off, with the promise she’d be back better than ever.

her leg, however, couldn’t get better, and the imposed limitations on magic were the main reason.

so melody was kitted with a cybernetic leg to replace the lost limb,   and it was the final feather that broke the girls back. the everything hitting her like a tonne of bricks; till her dad sat her down and told her about the bravest man, who just happened to be a cyborg, could do everything and more with his cybernetic limbs — that they were a gift, not a curse, and they would no way impede her life.

still,  she was recluse after losing her brother, and now her leg, unable to sing, or bake, or even get out of bed. so her parents decided to enrol her in aurora university, and gave her a little baby morph too - to help cheer her up.

now, melody’s just coming out of her mourning phase, she’s joined a band, and is studying engineering at aurora university.

she’s as bright & bubbly as ever, but part of that is just an act to keep up appearances.

she’s obsessed with the concept of love, but has never fallen in love. and thinks that no one could love a cyborg, that being part robot makes her invalid of affection, so she’s currently wrestling that fucking demon.
