i keep seeing people go "we finally have a canonically trans idol rhythm game character!" in reference to mizuki!

but.

arashi narukami, ensemble stars, a bisexual trans woman.

enstars came out 2015, and while arashi's transness was played out horribly back then, and she was seen as an effeminate man (and was even referred to with a slur a few times), since then, the game has improved greatly in how they talk about her! (engstars is mildly transphobic though. um.)

however, there is a homescreen interaction where she's talking with izumi, and she mentions growing taller, and it making her dysphoric--izumi assures her, she's not taller, she's tricking herself.

all of her unit, Knights, are representative of chess pieces! ritsu is the knight, izumi is the bishop, tsukasa is the rook, leo is the king, and arashi is the queen!

she regularly calls herself the big sister of both the unit and of yumenosaki itself.
