💬 Message to Kick Staff: Let’s Talk

To the Kick team- mods, admins, whoever's pulling the strings behind the curtain:

This is bigger than hurt feelings. This is about suppression, favoritism, and the open secret of viewbotting that you continue to ignore while punishing creators like me who speak up. You removed my achievement milestones with zero explanation, while others- some of them literal cheaters-got to keep theirs. I've submitted reports, evidence, screenshots, logs, all the receipts. And what did I get? NPC copy-paste replies and silence.

I’ve been with Kick since 2022. Day one. Built everything from the ground up. No bots. No shortcuts. Just pure hustle. But lately, it’s felt like I’ve got a target on my back just for calling things out.

Let me say it straight: this ain’t just negligence. This personal.

Support tickets go nowhere. The same biased staff respond every time. I've got logs. I've got timelines. If needed, I’ll leak it all. My support were ignored. Viewbotters I reported are still verified and thriving-some of them literally shown using bot software on stream. Nothing happened.

If your idea of “creator support” is brushing real problems under the rug and punishing the ones speaking truth? Then maybe it’s time people know what’s really going on behind the green logo.

📝 The Blog Post: "The Mask Is Off: My Truth as a Day-One Kick Creator

I didn’t want to write this. I wanted to believe in Kick. I wanted this platform to be different. But when silence becomes suffocation, the only thing left to do is speak louder.

I've been on Kick since 2022. Day one. I didn't migrate from Twitch or follow a wave-I was part of the tide that helped this place rise. From scratch, with no bots, no help, no clout handed down. Just community, consistency, and hours of unpaid work.

So when I say I’ve been suppressed by this platform, I don’t say it lightly.

🎯 What Happened to Me

Out of nowhere, Kick removed all my achievement milestones-without reason. These weren’t just stats. They were proof of the grind. And guess what? Other streamers? They got to keep theirs. I talked to multiple people on kick . Their metrics carried over just fine.

So why me?

It’s impossible not to feel targeted. Especially when botters are getting checkmarks and platforms like mine-organic, honest, loyal-are being stripped down. Especially when people like Gloria, openly boot up viewbotting software live on Twitch and only plafrom whom took action while kick rewards her, and still walk into Kick with open arms and full support. Make it make sense. and many other people swatbest (botting just get verified since his boys got like that) peteycottonmouth, lilskamlive etc... and petey and lilskam yet verified through that botting even kick knows about this and fully aware their metric is based on lies.

🚨 The Viewbot Epidemic

Let’s talk about PeteyCottonmouth, Swatbest, and the army of botted chat accounts they ride in on. The same clowns who brag in Discord about running alt accounts and restreaming people’s content to weaponize it against them. I banned Swatbest for harassment and suddenly? My viewership tanked. He cried in Discord. Then? Viewbot attacks.

And Kick? I gave you everything-screenshots, logs, timestamps. What did I get? i am happy leak all support have with kick and so people can see how actual kick staff acting.

"We’ve forwarded this to the correct team.”

Weeks passed. Months. Those same botted accounts? Still active. Still protected. The ones doing the dirty work? Still verified. Still on front page. Still untouched.

🥀 Where’s the Accountability?

I watched Kick grow. I stayed loyal while others laughed it off as a Twitch knockoff. I believed in KCIP, in the dream of a platform where creators actually mattered.

Instead, what I found was:

Admins messaging mostly female streamers privately, encouraging them to apply for verification. if they mention their name which Andrew you guilty of doing yourself. lets not deny that.

Verification given not based on merit, but on social circles—a Discord fast-pass system.

Botters openly thriving while those reporting them get ghosted.

I’ve seen names like TheJoker flip-flop, break every rule, slander other creators, get removed from KCIP, and still walk away verified. You know what would've happened if I did that? I'd be banned before I could blink. if did half shit most these mf has pulled. But yet i am getting suppressed and you guys remove all my hard work milestone and its time everyone knows this how you treated your OG from 2022 THAT getting robbed daily basic.

🧩 Let’s Be Honest: It’s a Rigged System

I've seen the inner circles. The favoritism. The bias. Verified accounts that don't stream, that have fewer followers than me on their social media most botted followers on IG and they get verified, still got the badge. Why? Because they knew someone. Or because someone on staff liked eddie or you andrew aka santamaria.

There’s even a public website by Whiz built on kick API, showing who's clearly viewbotting. You can't even say it's speculation—it’s data. And still, you do nothing.

So no- this isn’t “drama.” This is a culture problem.

💔 To Other Creators: This Could Happen to You

If you're on Kick and you think staying quiet will protect you? Think again. The second you speak out, you become a threat. Your numbers dip. Your reports disappear into a void. Your milestones vanish.

That’s what happened to me.

And if you think I’m bitter? Nah. I’m awake. There’s a difference. i was robbed since day one and still getting robbed as people walk on kick and get verified without earn it or people not even active streamers.

💀 Kick’s Soul for Sale? wanna eat shit to get shit.

Is that really how you want to be remembered- as a creator who sold their soul just to sleep well at night, robbing from others while hoping the same never happens to you?

That’s not the legacy of a real one. That’s the path to irrelevance. You’ll fall into the void, forgotten. Because no one respects a narcissist who stood silent while others were wronged- just because you had a checkmark and a KCIP badge.

If that’s your stance, then may God bless your soul- because karma’s got a perfect memory.

God will remember the creator who stood by and said nothing while others were robbed of what they earned through loyalty, grind, and integrity. You may be thriving now, but that spotlight fades fast—especially when people realize you never once stood up for what’s right. You never challenged the system. You just played your part and kept your mouth shut.

When that happens? You're no better than the platforms we all left behind- Rumble, Twitch. You become a hypocrite. Just another Joker, shouting “me, me, me” while fellow creators are silenced, struggling, and buried beneath injustice.

As long as you’re fed and you can sleep, it’s “fuck everyone else,” right?

Mothers with mouths to feed. Creators with bills to pay. People who gave their all for this platform while it gave them nothing in return.

Yeah- fuck them, huh? my fellow creators?

I don’t care if this pisses people off. I’m not here to kiss ass or chase clout. I’m here to tell the truth.

Because when creators who've done nothing wrong get punished, and people who game the system get protected because they choose sell their morals and principles and meat ride over money , that’s when the mask slips.

And you know what’s underneath?

A creator who’s willing to sell their soul for numbers and a platform that won’t lift a finger when shit hits the fan—is playing a dangerous game. These companies don’t care about you. They’re a business, and businesses always protect themselves. But the fellow creators who feel your pain? They’re your real community and you chose not to stand with them.

When push comes to shove, and legal action is on the table, trust and believe: they’ll throw you straight into the lion’s den to save their own skin. If Kick ever gets legally forced to expose who the botters are in FTC for example and who enabled it, they’ll fold in a heartbeat and some of y’all verified and KCIP creators are so gullible, thinking this company will have your back when the fire starts. U dumbest person on this planet.

🗣️ Final Words

To Kick: you had a chance to build something real. You had a community willing to stand by you. But instead of protecting your foundation, you chose to reward the fakes.

I don’t care if this gets me blacklisted. Because the truth? Deserves the light.

I’m not afraid to speak it.

I never was.

✊🏼 Stand up. Speak out. The real ones are watching. I will expose any platform's wrongdoings, and those creators who ride the wave just to sleep well at night. Let’s make sure people know exactly who they’re supporting and watching.

Do Better.

To @habitica staff (and in the interest of notifying Tumblr users who may not have realized anything was happening at all who may want to integrate this knowledge into their understanding of Habitica’s landscape going forward--open letter and all that jazz):

On Tuesday, January 31, you said that conversations in the Tavern had been disruptive and alienating to fellow Habiticans. You directed this at socialites.

So let’s talk about that.

On Monday, January 30, a troll targeted me and others in the Tavern for over two hours before you finally completely put your foot down regarding it.

Except you didn’t. You saw that I had tried to give their story the benefit of the doubt and tried to politely note some problematic phrasings of theirs and you decided sending the convo to PM was okay. Because, IDK, you didn’t see the flags from earlier where they were trying to gaslight me or whatever.

The user tried to strong-arm me into letting them share my words in a TikTok they claimed was about their autistic sibling’s “coping journey” (something I was not keen to be part of considering what I know about the kind of person who is likely to post autism-related things phrased that way). I know you know this because I reported the messages to you and you responded to those flags with clear understanding and took action (I presume a mute but I don’t actually know).

...And then the user took it offsite. They made a post about me on Twitter and by the end of the day I had several flames to fics on my AO3 account. (I “know” this was a tweet despite not having concrete proof because I am choosing to believe the least hostile (even nice at the end of the day) person who commented to my fics and who I was able to reply to and get a reply back from is telling the truth.) I was afraid to check my email for three days straight.

All for something I firmly believe the mods would have put a stop to and evaluated the full situation of far before it could have become that kind of problem. But there are no more mods. Only you.

Do better.

You said that comments posted in an effort to incite a hostile or contentious environment in public spaces in Habitica are unacceptable. You implied that PMs about it are also unacceptable. You directed this at socialites.

So let’s talk about that.

Since December 5, 2022, your treatment of sharing the reasons the mods were gone and why, after their strike and subsequent removal, has made everyone feel like anything they do or say or feel about the decision can’t be discussed without fear of account consequences. That is a hostile environment in public spaces.

In late evening January 31, you--at least temporarily--unhid a post that clearly did not comply with ultimatums you had just laid out in the very same chat, despite receiving reports that it was directly hurtful to other users and violating the ultimatums. There is no clear reason this was done unless it was because it was declared to be okay because its ire was directed only at contributors and not at staff. That is a comment that incites a hostile or contentious environment in public spaces in Habitica.

Between January 31 and February 2, you have muted and even full-on banned people without clear explanation of the things you believe they did wrong, and sometimes with a flimsy, nonsensical, or even nonexistent explanation when you were pressed for one. People are afraid to do anything now lest a staff that is employing increasingly totalitarian consequences to actions that shouldn’t call for consequences that severe prevent them from accessing the site at all. That is a contentious environment.

On January 31, you posted a message to Aspiring Socialites declaring these ultimatums but also suggesting we “do better”. This message, crucially, was describing something that not all socialites did something to cause (I know this because I asked point-blank and you (eventually) answered), but yet its words apparently apply to all socialites. But if that’s true, we can’t all need to “do better” unless you thought we were all “doing worse”--and this was a public message directed to all socialites and not individuals who exhibited behavior you thought to be bad, something I witnessed little to none of, anyway. That is a comment that incites a hostile or contentious environment in public spaces in Habitica.

Do better.

You are making people scared. You are letting people get hurt. Your moderation practices since the mods’ removal have resulted in noticeable changes to chat that have alienated many long-time Habiticans. You don’t seem to even want a community so much as an army of underlings who will never say anything that might challenge you to think about what you’re doing or to reflect on your actions.

As staff, people look to you as examples of what Habitica should be. Do better.

I legitimately do not understand the whole "FR is not the place for [insert rant about serious topic here]" argument. I fully support the recent mod post in Post Your Current Thought because hardly anyone was using trigger warnings and therefore not giving readers a chance to consent to their content. But the idea that Bad Things Happened to Me and I'm Upset is unacceptable because dragon Neopets should be 100% positive and happy all the time is absurd. Are the mods (and everyone else for that matter) not aware that video games, including FR, handle some serious topics? Is this site not filled with lore, both user-written and canon, about intense events that are more than likely traumatizing? How is that okay but a rant (WITH A PROPER TRIGGER WARNING) with the same content not okay? The no politics/religion rule makes sense as those are both extremely polarizing topics filled with misinformation and hate, but ranting isn't? I don't get it. The line between "trauma dumping" and ranting is horrendously fuzzy (IF TRIGGER WARNINGS ARE USED PROPERLY). How can you just deny people an outlet because of some constructed idea that games should be Happy Fun Times Only? "But kids-" kids need outlets too. The proper reaction should have been to add trigger warnings to the rules with clear explanations on how to use them and remove posts without them.

GUIDELINES PART II

- The whole point of this is to be a gift exchange. To get a gift, you must give a gift. If you drop out or disappear, your gift will be given to the group as a whole. Those who disappear without word will be banned from the exchange for one round.

- The story/art must be centered around the Sess/Kag pairing. It doesn’t necessarily have to be focused on romance - it can be based on first impressions, friendship, even some sort of hatred. Side pairings are fine, just as long as it focuses on the relationship between Sesshoumaru and Kagome. This is a Dokuga Holiday Exchange, after all!

- Gifted works must be new to the exchange. Sequels to previous works, new chapters to a current story, ‘deleted scenes’ from other stories, or anything related to any of your previous work isn’t allowed.

-The story/art can be any genre, though you should go by the prompts given to you to make your best judgment. If your prompts are vague, do your best to work with them. But please pay attention to what is requested to stay away from. If a platonic relationship is requested, do not give a romantic one. If you have any questions about the prompt requested, you can always ask me for clarification, and I will pass your question or concern on to the appropriate person. Please DO NOT contact your giftee directly as your giftee is not supposed to know who the gift is coming from.

Royal simblr event/collab etiquette

Hey everyone!

Are you a new royal simblr wondering how to get started about collaborating with others in the community? Or have you been around a while but you have been too shy to ask people and want to know how you can make friends in the community? Well, look no further than this handy little guide to the thus-far unwritten royal simblr event/collab etiquette! It’s a long post so I’ve put it under the cut. With these tips you, and everyone else, can have a great time in the community!

What is an event/collab?

So, usually these will be weddings, funerals, coronations, balls and state visits but you can always come up with new things if you want to host other royal simblrs on yours. Others may collaborate on friendships or marriages, christenings, or even rivalries... there are a lot of possibilities, this is a community that thrives on collaborations.

Inviting people over

If you’re ready to host your first event, but you don’t know many people, a handy way is to post an open invite on your simblr, stating the occasion, the date, the dress code and also the deadline for RSVP and sending sims to you. This way people can send you a message and ask if they can attend (more on that later). Or, if you aren’t getting messages (which can happen if you’re new and people haven’t found your simblr yet), you can start reaching out to others. People in the community usually don’t mind in the slightest if they get an invite, especially if you do it in a nice way (starting with a hello and introducing yourself is usually a good one). If they can’t attend, they will let you know. In any case, don’t badger people if they can’t make it. There is a whole variety of reasons for people not to attend events, which have to do with timings, storylines and even just personal lives. Don’t take it personally, you can always ask them again later for another event.

Hosting the event

A few tips for hosting your event:

make sure you pose all your guests and take screenshots of them. I personally have a checklist to make sure I never accidentally forget someone

make sure you spell the names and titles correctly and when in doubt, send a message to the person who sent you the sim

post on the date agreed upon... if life happens and you have to postpone, let your guests know

tag the guests on your post... tumblr sometimes screws up the tags so double-check

if your collaboration involves dialogue with a visiting sim, make sure you okay the dialogue with the person whose sim it is

don’t change the visiting sims outfits without checking first

don’t change the visiting sims skintones or facial features... just don’t. If something isn’t working correctly in your game (that doesn’t mean your aesthetics!), send a message to the person who sent the sim and see how to fix it

if people are late sending in their sims, you can send them a reminder right before the deadline... often people may forget to send their sims. If they don’t send them at all after a reminder or two, it’s perfectly reasonable to cut them from the guestlist.

Getting invited to events

Yay you have received a message inviting you to an event or a collab! Now you have to decide whether or not you will attend. If you won’t, it’s best to decline in a nice way, there is never a need to be rude. If you want, you can give them an explanation, but “thank you for the invite, I’m afraid I can’t make it this time” is always a good one. Now, if you will attend, write down the date and the deadline (if there isn’t one, ask). Check the dress code or ask if they haven’t given one. Dress and send your sims on time. Oh, and make sure you like and reblog the posts when they are up! It’s also nice to send a message after the event thanking them for hosting you and putting in all the hard work.

Now, if there were issues with the event, don’t be afraid to raise those privately with the person hosting the event. Often times those are accidental things, and can be cleared easily. Communication is key, and again, no need for rudeness.

Can I invite myself to an event?

If you see that someone’s sims just got engaged, it is safe to assume that there will be a wedding... however, until the wedding is announced through a public invite post, don’t reach out about the event, no matter how excited you would be to attend. Just like in real life, you don’t just invite yourself over. Same goes for state visits. If you would like to visit someone’s country, why not suggest a state visit to your country first?

So, as a rule, only reach out about events that have public invites and even then, ask nicely if your sims can attend. Assuming makes things awkward.

An important note about sending your sims

In this community, we generally don’t mind CC, but nobody likes receiving 2GB files for one sim. Not everyone is running a high-end computer or has a great internet connection, so it’s polite to take this into consideration. Here are some tips:

Only send the outfits requested... the person organising the event doesn’t need your sims athletic wear and other outfits, no matter how nice they are. Put them in bathrobes and remove any CC make up & hairs and accessories from the not-required outfit categories

Don’t send mod tuning files... when using tray importer you can untick those

Don’t send default replacement files as these can mess up the hosts game

Don’t send merged files

So, in short... try to behave in the community like you would behave in the real world. Communication is key, and being polite and nice will always get you further than being rude!

Just adding this one more bit as I felt like I could’ve elaborated on it more... just like in the real world, being a part of a community is give-and-take. If you feel like you’re not getting invited to events, perhaps it’s good to check if you have been interacting enough with others. Really, a compliment to another simblr will cost you nothing. A nice message to brighten their day. Posting your story to fill the community with more great content... those are all great options for you. Or, host an event yourself! That’s a great way to get to know other simblrs.

a post explaining Cas and his burns! Cas has some of the worst burns in the household and they require lots of explanation. An overview of Cas’s burns and assistive devices is under the cut. I worked really hard on this!

- Mod Ez

OVERVIEW

Cas suffers from severe burns and had many surgical complications. His initial burns were 3rd degree located primarily on the right side of his face, requiring skin grafts and resulting in complications around his jaw which affects his ability to eat solid food. He suffers from chronic jaw pain and contractures around his mouth make it difficult for him to open it very wide (one reason of many that he gave himself a smile was in hopes of fixing this problem. It did not fix the problem).

He has burns on his hands and arms, these are less severe than his facial burns. His wrists are quite thin due to needing skin grafts. The healthy parts of his arm were used to repair the damaged skin, resulting in him appearing thinner. Doctors believed he would be unable to do complex tasks due to contractures on his hands. Through rigorous physical therapy and sheer will power he is able to do knife and lighter tricks with his hands.

He has a massive scar on his right leg due to the severity of the burn there and the amount of damaged tissue that needed to be removed. This can cause pain when doing things like running and jumping, but he usually feels it after the adrenaline of a chase has worn off. He is insecure about the scar on his leg and the thinness of his arms.

Cas also underwent plastic surgery (without his consent) in an effort to fix his appearance. Unfortunately, this backfired and the surgery was botched resulting in Cas suffering further damage to his jaw and face. The skin on Cas’s face that appears to hang/droop is a result of this botched surgery.

ASSISTIVE DEVICES

Cas’s condition requires him to wear assistive devices. Most burn patients only have to wear compression gear for about 1-3 years maximum, if not only for a few months. However the severity of Cas’s burns and a reluctance to use the assigned compression and supportive gear means he needs to use these even still. Cas has an obsession with appearing beautiful and cool, and in his mind the gear doesn’t fit in. However his chronic pain often wins these arguments.

He wears specialized face support masks. He has multiple kinds. A clear kind through which you can still see his scars, and a black kind that hides them. Which one he wears depends on his mood. Here are some pictures for reference:

He requires compression garments on his arms and on his right leg. Examples:

Cas has to eat liquified food, things like apple sauce and smoothies. Although sometimes he is really proud of his scars to perhaps an unhealthy extent, there are many times where he is equally ashamed of them.

If you have not been following the recent problems with the King Falls AM creators, here is a quick update on the happenings!

So, in short, there was art retweeted on Kyle's official blog that contained BDSM/NSFW content. He was asked politely to tag his NSFW posts in the future because minors and people who don't want that stuff on their feed follow him. A couple of the show's creators got involved, (Trent Shumway started this specifically) defending the poster. "I think Twitter overall is not safe for work." was Trent's argument for it. Kyle stepped up after someone was called a name and said that "folks have a right to complain." After that, he made it very clear that he was not going to tag anything because "we control what we see." (The art was also posted in the official discord server that is a non-NSFW server and they were asked to take it down.)

A little later, a Tumblr post (now deleted) was made, calling for "Death of the Author." The official KFAM Tumblr replied with "is wishing death on folks safe for work?" The original poster was then banned from the official discord server without explanation. Any mention of this by other users in the server were deleted and treated as if they were never made, the subject changed quickly. The original poster had his own channel in the server that was run by him and a friend. The friend mentioned it and put up a small memorial post that was quickly taken down. When anyone asked why everything in the channel was being deleted, the mods banned them. Every mention from that point on was answered with "We just needed to clean up a bit." Eventually, the entire channel was locked to the entire server.

Kyle then took to Twitter again saying: "When you wish death on folks because their Twitter doesn't mark things as NSFW, YOU are the problem. If this is what bothers you during a worldwide pandemic, take a deep look at yourself. Hope you learn to like what you see & stop projecting that hate elsewhere. Stay safe. Bye."

This tweet shows that he clearly does not understand the meaning of DotA, so someone took the opportunity to fill him in, expecting him to be understanding of it. He proceeds to block them, so more people begin replying with definitions. Instead of admitting he was wrong he claims that the responders were bullying him and that it didn't change anything. He claimed that the people responding to him were just spreading hate.

In conclusion, I shouldn't have to say this- but please don't attack me like the others have been attacked. Valid criticism is important for personal growth, and I feel that as fans, we should be able to talk about these things without such fear. Our creators are real people behind those screens, yes- but so are we.

What NicoB Did To Me.

I’ve debated making this post for a long time, largely because there isn’t a big Nico community on Tumblr, and I doubted anyone would listen or care. This whole incident showed me how some of his fans can act, turning a blind eye to the truth just because of their love for Nico, even when he is in the wrong. But I’m in agony, and I can’t just let Nico get away with the horrible thing he did. Even if none of you believe me, hopefully, someone will at least see this and know the truth.

Once upon a time, I was one of Nico’s biggest fans. He was one of my favorite YouTubers, and like many of you, his humor helped me through a lot of hard times. That’s what made what eventually happened so much more painful. I had been a member of the community for years, had a lot of friends, had never had any real problems or fights, and had been helping the mods to the point where they were saying I was such an asset to the community and talking about making ME a mod. They’d literally just thanked me and said as much mere minutes before it happened.

I suddenly found myself banned.

There was no warning or explanation-I wasn’t even told I’d been banned. No notice from YouTube is given when this happens, your comments just become invisible to everyone but you. As such, you could go years or even your whole life without ever realizing you’ve been banned. Thankfully, I realized not long after it happened, but that didn’t help much. I felt...humiliated. I’d been talking cheerfully with you all, and not one of you could or would ever see a word of it. All my past comments were gone too. My whole existence had essentially been erased from the community.

I suffer from a very severe anxiety disorder. Suddenly being banned, being unable to watch one of my favorite YouTubers, and having my very existence erased...it made me have an attack. I desperately reached out to Nico for answers, confiding in him about my anxiety and just how bad a place I was in, but he never replied. Due to a glitch in YouTube, I was able to reach out to the mods and another regular user via an existing comment thread we’d all been a part of. I told them of my anxiety too, as I was getting more and more worked up as this dragged on, and I wanted them to understand how I felt and how desperately I needed answers. Initially, they reassured me, with Miles Hikari-one of the mods and my main contact throughout all this-telling me that several of the mods actually suffered from similar disorders and understood. The regular user, Anon, seemed confused by my ban too. We did not get along, but he acknowledged I’d never done anything that should warrant that. The mods had no idea what was going on either and attempted to contact Nico. I made it clear I was not looking for a “second chance”, as I knew I had done nothing to ruin my first one. I wanted answers, and preferably, this ban lifted.

When the mods got back to me, they passed on Nico’s reasons for banning me, and keep in mind he said these things knowing the dark place I was in at the time.

He told me he hated me. He told me all of you hated me. He said I had no friends in the community, and that everyone wanted me gone. According to him, I’m an abusive bully who is a toxic presence-who poisons everything she touches. He claimed that he had spoken to several of you and none of you had anything good to say.

I...wanted to die. I truly and utterly wanted to die. This pushed me into an even darker place. I’d never had any real fights with anyone, the mods seemed to like me, and I was under the impression I had a lot of friends. Whether it was true or not, hearing this destroyed me.

But at the same time, I knew something was off. Who had said these things? ��I could not see any of you hating me that much, because I couldn’t think of any thing I had done that would warrant it. They would not give me a single name. So I instead asked them to show me some examples of me being abusive or toxic, because I knew I had NEVER behaved in such a way, let alone over the course of many years. They refused to provide me with a single post. To top it all off, it seemed weird. If I was this hated, why had Anon and the mods seemingly been unaware of it when they learned I had been banned? If I was this awful a person, surely they would not have been surprised and confused by this occurrence? In fact, if I’d been behaving like that for years, why had I not been banned or even warned ever before this?

It didn’t add up, I pointed these things out to the mods, and they dragged things out longer, claiming they were “talking with Nico”. I repeatedly asked to be part of a group convo with all them, because I was stressing out worse and worse as time passed, and I knew the best way to resolve this would be for us all to talk, but they refused.

When they finally responded, it was not to post the proof I had asked for. They’d actually abandoned their original claims Instead, they talked down to and humiliated me. They found out about aggressive bullying I’d been subjected to on a certain site that had been blamed on me and a girl on DA I’d commissioned to do art for me who’d falsely claimed I harassed her. The mods used these upsetting incidents from over THREE YEARS AGO to justify my ban, telling me my behavior was unacceptable, and that while they were willing to give me a second chance, they would be watching me.

Naturally, this just made me more upset...and more livid. I told them off as politely as I could, as did Anon. They then abandoned THAT line of arguing and brought up several recent “incidents” Nico told them about that they said were the REAL reasons I was banned. The “Ni No Kuni Freakout”, the “Fire Emblem War”, and me allegedly spamming Nico with panicked/demanding messages and threatening him on Twitter.

Since my comments are invisible, I have included a screenshot of the alleged “Ni No Kuni Freakout”, which was the last comment I made before the ban. As you can see, it was clearly not a freakout, nor deserving of a ban. I don’t remember which video the Fire Emblem discussion took place on, but it was just that-a discussion. Anon, who was part of it, remembered that, while me and him disagreed about things, we were not hostile or fighting. It was no war. The mods, when this was pointed out to them, instead claimed that I had brought up Fates solely to START a fight and to drag the thread off-topic, even though that specific mod was actually the one who encouraged it, and the original topic was Fire Emblem to begin with.

As for Twitter, this was where it became clear Nico had not only exaggerated, he outright lied. See, I’m not active on Twitter, so anyone who goes to my profile under this same username can see the FOUR messages I sent him.

This is the first Tweet, sent to him after a certain AAI2 video went up:

“Nico, you do realize tthis thumbnail is kind of a big spoiler? Some people are pretty upset, so you might wanna change it.”

The remaining three were sent several days later, when he addressed the spoiler thumbnail in his next AAI2 video. One had to be split in two due to the character limit:

“A spoiler is a spoiler-that thumbnail ruins a really big moment. Please remove it before anyone else sees it?"

“Also, you knew it was a spoiler, then put it IN your next vid? You may be able to hide it via annotation, but it was a bad move."

“Sorry if any of this annoys you. Twitter's character limit doesn't let me say what I want how I want."

And there you have it. No spam and certainly no threats. The last Tweet was even an apology, because my anxiety had me so worried he’d take offense to how blunt Twitter’s character limit forced me to be.

It was at this point that I lost Anon’s support. Throughout the whole thing, he’d been on my side, but saying that Nico must have just made a mistake. Once it became clear he had purposefully twisted facts and lied, Anon flipped out and turned on me, unable to accept it. The mods also started ignoring me, and I was banned from the Steam community, the Facebook, and who knows where else. I can’t watch Nico’s videos anymore, and I’ve been unable to get in touch with any of my former friends in the community.

It’s been about six months since then, and every day I feel worse. I miss you all, and the fact that Nico did all this for whatever unknown reason and said all those horrible lies about me, when I was already in such a bad place... He acts so nice, and everyone thinks he is this sweet, lovable guy, but he is not. No kind person would do this. I don’t care what his personal reason for hating me is, I did not deserve to be banned, and he should have been honest about it. I’d love it if the ban was lifted and Nico apologized, but let’s face it, that’s not going to happen. I mean, he didn’t care how badly he hurt me, and he didn’t care if I hurt myself. My life means nothing to him.

If you bothered to read all this, thanks. I still doubt anyone will believe me, but at least the truth it out there. It feels good to expose it. And Nico, if YOU ever happen to read this, though I don’t see that ever happening, you can still make this right. You have to know what you did and how you handled this was wrong. If you had a problem with me, you could have talked to me. You didn’t have to ban me, and you didn’t have to lie. You abused your power as a popular YouTuber and caused me months of emotional anguish and depression that still has not gone away. Only you can end this.

Chapter 1. About SM Entertainment

It’s not unfamiliar that Shinhwa debuted around the end of 90s, at the blooming period of the creation of ‘idol’, and being called ‘First Generation Idol’. After H.O.T and S.E.S, leading the idol entertainment companies, they were SM Entertainment’s third product.

About Shinhwa’s audition

The above image is ranked by the date Shinhwa members joined as a trainee. We don’t have to talk much about what happened before debut, in short:

Andy who was living in America formed a dance group with few Korean friends, joined a dance competition and got casted by Lee Sooman. After that he was picked as the final member of H.O.T, but gave up due to his mother’s worry about debuting at a young age, hence went back to America. After a year, Lee Sooman met Andy again in LA and brought him back to Korea. (At this time, some believe that Andy is already chosen as a Shinhwa member, but it’s unknown whether if it is a rumour among fans or a rumour from Lee Sooman.)

As a foreign student, Shin Hyesung was casted in a SM audition held in LA. It was in 1996, and was the same year that Lee Sooman met Andy again, and according to Andy as a trainee that time, after listening to Shin Hyesung’s vocal, Lee Sooman exclaimed “It’s really great isn’t it”.

Eric same as Shin Hyesung, was casted though LA audition. Although he joined the audition as suggested by Andy, he already met Lee Sooman in the past. And according to Lee Sooman and Andy, Eric was already popular among Korean students at that time.

Lee Minwoo studied at Jeonju Art High school, he joined Everland Dance Competition with friends and got casted by a SM manager. (His friend who was also casted as a trainee wasn’t able to become a Shinhwa memebr but debuted through other entertainment company)

Junjin studied at Ogeum High School who was already famous for his dancing skills. And through sunbae Ahn Chilhyun, H.O.T Kangta suggested him to be a trainee.

At last, Kim Dongwan was popular as a band vocal in Whimoon High School. He also gained the title of ‘Whimoon’s Moses’ (Meaning that wherever he walked past, students separated a road like Red Sea for him.)

Different companies wanted to get Kim Dongwan in and they even sent special manager for him, knowing all his schedules following him around to get a chance (as reported by DSP relations). Until one day Kim Dongwan was unexpectedly casted by a SM manager on street, while holding a big teddy bear for his girlfriend.

None the less, they gathered as trainees and after one year to few months of training, only six were chosen to debut as Shinhwa’s final members.

People call them SM’s mischievous icon.

Different to other idols with a mysterious concept (especially SM’s H.O.T and S.E.S), arguing with fans outside the dorm, getting drunk, bringing a television to play games at broadcast stations, escaped dorm but got caught and all received punishment, etc. Until now these were remained as legend stories in the industry, and you can find these easily on different humour-sites as Shinhwa’s history.

Therefore even after 10 years, I believe that their weird and extraordinary stories will remain on the internet. And that because of the contrasting image to other idols during such time, their unique image brought them to the exposure in variety.

In 1999, Shinhwa’s 2nd Album (T.O.P) brought them a late-coming huge response, forming the unique passionate fans, and achieved their goals. In the 5 years of contract period, even though there were various incidents (especially the life threatening accidents).

They continued in striving and working hard, showing a different style with every album.

At that time, I also thought their story will conclude with a happy ending...

With the passing of time, 5 years of “idols’ maximum survival time” went by, Shinhwa and SM’s contract came to an end in 2003.

During that time, groups debuted before Shinhwa or debuted at similar time declared disbandment, even without an official announcement, the members left and worked in different fields. At that time, the running period of idols were expected to be around 5 years, and the number of albums was also ended at 5. However, Shinhwa in 2002 released their 6th Album. From that time onwards, they began slowing breaking the limits of idols.

Recalling SM Entertainment sunbae idol groups, in 2001 due to conflicts between members and company, H.O.T went in a status of “half disbandment”. S.E.S in 2002 disbanded according to members’ will, and debuted as solo singers.

And in 2003, when everyone expected SM’s third child, Shinhwa will go through the same path as the other idols.

But as we all know, such expectation did not came true. Before talking about Shinhwa’s next decision, let’s look into their experience in SM Entertainment which may considered as a turning point.

Chapter 1.5. Shinhwa Promoting as 5 (2001)

When Shinhwa released their 4th Album in 2001, without Andy, promoting as 5 members is what everyone knows. Andy also mentioned it on a programme himself, and as what we know, it was due to his personal issues. But the truth is, recalling the incident in 2001, it was not just solely a personal uncontrollable case.

Andy’s Activities on Hiatus

[Author’s NOTE: Although I do not know how much this incident has impact on Shinhwa, this could fully represent how they realised the actual relationship between the group and the company. And this is also the incident which made Shinhwa fans lost trust towards the company, and that it is not totally irrelevant to the future conflicts. Below is according to my recall of the situation and rumour during that time+ what was reported on media+ Andy’s future explanation.]

One day, KKFS (Korea Kent Foreign School) was rumoured to have students from high status families getting into university with no qualification. And in this school there were two popular idols. They are S.E.S’s Shoo (Yoo Sooyoung) and Shinhwa’s Andy (Lee Sunho). (S.E.S's Eugene was a graduate from this school)

Reporters who were starving for news did not miss this chance. News on TV and newspaper all brought the two names out. At first, it was “an idol member”, and then it became “S.E.S’s Miss Y and Shinhwa’s Mr L”. Later, they even reported with their real identities. People who heard about the university entrance scandal began to judge and blame them. Of course, this also happened in the fandom.

(For reference, I was only 4th grade at that time, just began liking Shinhwa, but still am able to remember this shows how big impact it brought…)

About this incident, if we start from the conclusion, the school which had an university entrance scandal, happened to have a foreigner student Andy (with foreign residence). Andy was 12th grade at that time, applied and got accepted for Hankuk University of Foreign Studies on English. Shoo also was accepted in university already.

However when the news broke, the spotlight of the media went onto “idol’s improper university entrance scandal” (in reality they just happened to be a student there) instead of the “high status family scandal”. Whereas the universities which were at the centre of the scandal, used “not qualified” as an excuse to cancel KENT students’ accepted university application. Of course, from the the surface their reason made sense. KENT was not a proper high school course, hence they were not qualified for university application from the start.

(I need to point out that, not only Andy and Shoo, whether all Kent students did got blamed due to “not qualified”. For reference, all foreigner high schools are recognised as proper high school course now. But it was only not recognised during that time.)

Therefore the high school education was not recognised, concluding with a Junior high graduate, cancelled university entrance.

ENDING LIKE THIS?? Then it would be great��.

Due to the KKFS incident, a lot obstacles were created to Andy.

1. As Andy’s education was not recognised, Andy’s past 3 years studying at KKFS as a student was rejected. This created a problem to Andy’s reason to stay in Korea. Hence before his identity was made clear, the business activity (=as a singer) became impossible.

2. Male adult who is not a student, by principle is required to receive military health check, and before that travelling is forbidden.

Therefore, until Andy got the military health check, he was forbidden to leave the country. It would be great ending like this, receive the military health check and solve the legal problems. But to make thing worse, Andy’s “personal issue" broke out. Andy’s mother in US suddenly went really ill.

For reference, Andy was born in a single parent family, without any male parent, it means that he is responsible to act as the father’s role. Andy as his mother’s guarantor was really urgent to travel back to US, but due to what happened in Korea, until the travel ban is removed, he could only wait.

During such process, Andy even made a lawsuit about the university application was inappropriately cancelled. Some may misunderstood his action, but he did this not because of to escape from the military check, but instead if he could resume the “student” identity then the travel ban would be removed and he could rush back to US. But at last it did not succeed.

Also, rumours began to spread everywhere. From Andy leaving out of the dorm, to become missing, temporary leaving the group, withdrawal from the group, and even rumour on suicide. (About attempt of suicide, at that time the company explained it was because of taking excessive cold pills leading to gastric spasm, and was sent to the emergency. I personally think such issue is still questionable, but it is not a significant point here, so I will end this here.)

2001.05.10 Voice Message from Andy

Afterall, Andy successfully received the military check and due to not qualified education (finally as Junior high graduate), and was decided as “reserved placement” in military, he left all rumours behind and quietly left for US.

After few months, Shinhwa came back with their 4th Album.

Without Andy, as 5.

What ironic is, Shinhwa with one member less, the album received well results, it’s actually really popular among the public. People started to give them more recognition for trying the un-idol-like concepts.

Some even said that ‘Hey Come On’ is the next level in music. And ‘Wild Eyes’ as the continuing song, received even greater reaction than the title song.

No matter if it is music, variety or the media reflected that Shinhwa could be perfect as a 5 members group. But this did not make people satisfy because of the subtle atmosphere. Some fans appeared to not care but feeling lost, and some fans even accepted that Andy is already not a member. Shinhwa seems to realise that before the return of Andy, they have the responsibility to stay in their position and try to make Shinhwa better.

However looking at Shinhwa promoting without him, Andy thought that he no longer had a position in Shinhwa.

Due to Andy’s inability to support the hospital fees (US hospital fees are different to Korea’s ones), he brought his mother back to Korea after few months. Looking at Shinhwa striving forth, began to feel the distance in between, or began to feel the guilt that may block Shinhwa’s development. He did not go back to the dorm but instead hid in a college building somewhere in Seoul.

Not getting a haircut, not shaving, shower with cold water, only able to sleep with soju and aspirin.

After that, as what we all know, Andy returned back to Shinhwa.

After Shinhwa’s 4th Album promotion, Shinhwa Changjo’s 5th Fan Meeting was held. It was the biggest event among all fan meetings held, and the venue was Jamsil Main Stadium. According to Andy, that day Lee Sooman contacted him and told him to join the fan meeting. Andy at the waiting room heard the fans shouted ‘Lee Sunho’ even without him on stage, teared up. To hide the weeping eyes, he borrowed a pair of sunglasses, and stood in front of the fans after a year.

When the fan meeting was coming to an end, Andy appeared at the last encore stage, greeted everyone shyly.

Shinhwa, once again returned as six.

However, even just naming this “after experiencing hardship, Andy returned to Shinhwa”, the impact this incident brought is definitely visible.

The point is, the person who called Andy to join the fan meeting is Lee Sooman, from this aspect both Andy and the fans were thankful for.

But the question is, this company called SM, left Andy out during their 4th Album promotion, appears to be doing a kind of experiment.

When Andy is not in Korea, leaving him out, released a new album. Using the finished recording, and re-record it as 5 members, and making it into an album with 5 members. [-> Do anyone know where this is from?]

Idol groups were normally with 5 people, even with 5 voices, they were flawless no matter if it’s album or variety, the appearance of the 5 members were perfect.

The members did not mention Andy as much, called Junjin as the ‘maknae’ and called Shinhwa as ‘5’.

From all these actions during the promotion, could SM be trying this out to make Shinhwa as a 5 members group? People already made such assumption.

Also, about Andy’s rumour, fans complained that SM did not handle it well. In reality, Shinhwa’s fanchant during 4th Album promotion, determined to add ‘Lee Sunho’, showing how much they anticipate Andy’s return.

But about Andy’s news or his future decision, SM did not voice out any opinion. When Andy was bothered by rumours before the military check, and the situation was so bad that he even went to the emergency, SM did not state clearly that Andy was not related to the university entrance scandal, and did not show a strong will to solve Andy’s problems.

2001.04.23 A Letter to SHCJ on Andy’s Rumour

At least this is what fans’ thought. (If SM actively solved the problems, the fandom won’t split). At such situation, SM still promoted 5 members Shinhwa, created fans’ further distrust towards the company.

Of course, with Andy’s return, the saying of “5 members Shinhwa” became solely a rumour, or you can call it SM’s failed tactic. Even if the rumour is true, that SM tried to take Andy away and make Shinhwa as a 5 members group, then this project was not only an experimental failure, but it brought unexpected negative impact to SM.

Using this incident as an example, not only Andy, SM can ignore their personal will and change the members of Shinhwa at any time.

Shinhwa could no longer be 6 at any time, even the group’s survival is uncertain, this is what the members clearly realised.

Back to 2003.

Even though it was revealed after a long time, H.O.T and S.E.S disbandment was mainly due to contract renewal. H.O.T’s situation was due to members’ individual contract renewal, conflicts and misunderstanding grew, leading to disbandment. S.E.S’s situation was SM tried for individual contract renewal, but due to contract problems, conflicts grew, and finally announced disband while at the top position.

Same as the two previous groups, before contract renewal, the company began to secretly seek individual members. The first person who got suggested for contract renewal was Lee Minwoo and Shin Hyesung. Lee Minwoo since debut was in charge of choreography, lyrics and song writing, these various areas, showing a strong individual talent. Shin Hyesung is Shinhwa’s main vocal, from the collaboration with Lee Jihoon, it showed that he is strong enough to become a solo vocal. In another words, SM saw their ability to step out of the ‘idol’ limitation and became a ‘musician’, hence chose them for another contract.

However, witnessing other groups’ unwilling disbandment, continued promotion while treating one member as non-exist, Shinhwa objected the company’s action, and decided to betray (?) SM as 6, making such significant decision.
