Ponyboy once got into a heated argument with a classmate over the proper reading order of the Narnia books. His classmate insisted that reading them chronologically made the most sense. Ponyboy heard that and immediately went NO.

He is of the mine that despite The Magician’s Nephew coming first chronologically, learning the origins of Narnia hold a lot more weight once you’ve been introduced to the rest of the world. He actually doesn’t care all that much when you read The Horse and His Boy. But The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe must come first and The Magician’s Nephew must be read last before The Last Battle. End of story.

He feels very strongly about the symbolism and whatnot you would miss if you read the Magician’s Nephew before the first four books published.

Everyone makes fun of him for caring so much about something so silly. But, it’s not silly to him. His mom read them to him when he was younger. And yeah, it did rock his world when he learned that the boy from the Magician’s Nephew was the Professor.

And most of the responses on twitter are pitchforks which is so funny cause this is the most nonsensical quote I’ve ever seen that says essentially nothing. It’s the director of barbie and little women and also I believe they’re adapting magicians nephew and LWW and Magicians nephew hasn’t had a major film before sooo)
