A/N: guys i had such a nightmare, my tumblr has been glitching for days and i lost my drafts so i have to re-upload everything (yayyyyy) and so i couldn’t upload as much as i wanted this weekend! final chapter of this will be out next week then i have two new stories coming🫶🏼
Chapter Twelve
Sienna wasn’t surprised to hear the knock before the door opened, not loud, just enough to break the quiet.
Natasha stepped in, hands in her jacket pockets. There was no smirk, no lecture, no mission. Just tired eyes and the soft kind of presence that said she wasn’t here for answers.
“I brought contraband.” Natasha smiled, pulling a small cup from behind her back. “Well technically it’s just terrible coffee but it’s not from the mess hall so we’re already pushing boundaries.”
Sienna blinked. “You don’t have to keep coming to check I’m still here.
“No, I don’t.”Natasha said. “But I want to check if you’re okay.”
Natasha sees the same sad smile that’s she has for the last week. “Well and to confirm you haven’t strangled the agent who keeps bringing your food tray like you’re contagious.”
That pulled the smallest smile out of Sienna. “Tempting.”
They sat in quiet. Sienna held the coffee like it might anchor her. Natasha didn’t rush her or didn’t ask for anything. Everyday she came and she just stayed.
Over the past few weeks they’ve talked about everything and anything that avoided the tropic of trauma. Favourite animal, favourite movie, favourite vacation spot, like they were on a first date and one of them wasn’t an international ex-assassin and a woman that’s potentially facing life imprisonment.
When Natasha finally left, the corridor outside was waiting, as was Maria Hill.
“You know room visits aren’t exactly protocol.” Maria said, with a pointed smile.
Natasha arched an eyebrow. “So put it in the report, emotional espionage.”
Maria smirked, then gestured toward the elevator. “Walk with me. You look like you need caffeine that doesn’t taste like guilt.”
⋆⋆⋆⋆
They sat in a quiet conference room just off the admin wing, coffee between them, the city creeping up the skyline through the long window.
“She’s not going to prison.” Maria said, straight to it.
Natasha didn’t hide the relief but she didn’t celebrate either. Nothing good ever came without something that followed.
“We’ve worked her case hard.” Maria continued. “Filed testimony, submitted full cooperation reports, used the fact she was actively manipulated by Luka, long term emotional control, all of it. And it mostly stuck.”
“Mostly?”
Maria nodded. “SHIELD’s offering her a post. Probationary. Internal legal consulting, intel debriefing, low-level clearance for now. After six months, she can walk if she wants. Clean. We had to pull a few favours but they’re happy with the agreement, if we take full custody of her.”
Natasha’s jaw clenched. “She saved lives. And she put a bullet in the man who ruined hers, that was her brother by the way. And we’re acting like she still owes something?”
“I don’t disagree.” Maria said. “But the system doesn’t like redemption without paperwork.”
⋆⋆⋆⋆
That afternoon, the Avengers were gathered for a private briefing. Sienna stood quietly beside Maria, hands cuffed loosely in front of her. Her face was blank but composed, the mask of someone who had no more energy to defend herself.
Maria stepped forward. “You all know the outcome. Now here are the terms.”
She laid them out calmly, probation, full oversight, access limitations, duration of service. When she finished, the room was silent.
Sienna just nodded.
Natasha didn’t.
“It’s not fair.” She muttered aloud, her voice low but sharp. “She doesn’t deserve probation. She deserves a place to rest.”
Sienna looked over but there was no shock in her face. Just a quiet acceptance. “It’s okay. I worked for the system when it suited me. This is… just the other side of that.”
Maria gave a small nod then approached and unlocked the cuffs. They clicked apart with finality.
“We’ll get you housing in the lower wing. It’s secure and quiet. We’ll bring over what we can from your apartment, it’s already been swept and sealed so it might take a day or two.”
Sienna nodded again. “Thank you.”
Wanda stepped forward, offered a kind smile. “Come with me. We’ll get your ID set up, your badge. You’ll need clearance for your quarters.”
Before she could follow, Maria’s voice stopped her again. “One more thing.”
Sienna turned, suddenly feeling a weight in the room.
“We have Luka’s body, officially unclaimed. But you’re listed on his records, you’re next of kin. It’s your choice what happens.”
Sienna didn’t speak for a long moment. Then: “Burn it.”
Maria didn’t argue, just nodded politely.
Sienna followed Wanda from the room, not in chains, not under escort. Just walking forward as free as a woman under SHIELD supervision could.
And Natasha watched her go, a thousand unspoken things tightening in her throat.
“I’ll make the call about the body-“
“Don’t.” Natasha told Maria. “Not yet. She’s hurt and she hates him right now but she doesn’t want that. She wouldn’t.”
“Are you sure?”
“Leave it with me.”
⋆⋆⋆⋆
The hallway leading to SHIELD’s administrative level was sterile and humming with low lighting, like everything in the compound. Sienna walked beside Wanda, both of them silent for a long stretch until the elevator doors closed.
Wanda broke it first. “You’re doing okay?”
Sienna gave her a look. Not annoyed, just dry.
Wanda smiled faintly. “Okay, that was a dumb question.”
They rode a few floors in silence. Then Wanda tried again. “You don’t have to talk. But if you want to, I know what it’s like to be on the inside of something everyone else wants to burn down.”
Sienna didn’t reply right away. “I don’t think I’ve even felt anything yet. It’s like I know I should be crying or screaming or punching a wall but it’s all quiet. Like my brain’s buffering.”
“That’s normal.” Wanda said gently. “Shock takes its time. Guilt too.”
Sienna’s voice dropped. “I don’t think I feel guilty the way they want me to.”
Wanda tilted her head. “How do you mean?”
“I don’t regret saving Luka, not at first. I wanted to believe he could come back from what he’d become. I thought that if I just held on long enough, something human in him would hold on too.” She paused. “That’s what I regret. That I thought I could out-logic evil.”
Wanda didn’t judge her. “You were trying to love someone who made themselves impossible to love. That’s not weak. That’s just human.”
They reached the badge station. The agent inside barely looked up, just motioned to the camera. “Stand there.”
Sienna stepped forward. The camera clicked. As simple as that.
When she turned back to Wanda, her new ID badge in hand, the faintest smile tugged at the corner of her mouth. “This is the worst photo I’ve ever taken.”
Wanda grinned. “Oh, just wait. Tony put mine on a coffee mug.”
Sienna let out the tiniest laugh, the kind that barely made it to her eyes but still counted.
Wanda touched her elbow as they turned to leave. “If you ever want to talk, I don’t even need words. Just knock.”
Sienna nodded. “Thanks. I might.”
And maybe for the first time in a while, she meant it.
Before they could even reach the Avengers floor, Natasha was there, waiting and clearly worrying. It made Sienna nauseous how much effort this woman was wasting on her.
“Hey, did you get everything?”
“Yeah, the picture is terrible but I should just be grateful they didn’t use my mugshot, right?”
“If Stark hears that, he’ll have it changed so yes. Why don’t I take you for a tour? I’ll make sure Friday gives you access up here, incase you need anything.”
“Mr. Stark has granted Ms. Blake, also known as Legally Complicated, full access to all non-classified Avengers facilities. He also asked me to relay the message, please try not to sue anyone on the way in.”
“Thanks Friday.” Natasha rolled her eyes.
“You’re welcome Natalie.” You raised an eyebrow at Natasha, who just brushed it off like it was a long story. “And welcome Legally Complicated.”
⋆⋆⋆⋆
The night had settled heavy over the Tower when Natasha knocked at Sienna’s door, grateful she could visit her in a room and not a cell.
No escort, no file in hand. Just a soft duffel bag hanging from her shoulder and a paper bag of takeout clutched loosely in one hand.
Sienna opened the door, hair pulled back, eyes shadowed. She looked freshly shadowed and happy to be in a more comfortable set of clothes, even if it was the standard issue SHIELD tracksuit. Beggars couldn’t be choosers, she proposed.
Natasha gave her a half-smile and held up the bag. “I brought something better than protocol. Sweats, face wash and pizza. You looked like you could use all three.”
Sienna hesitated, then stepped aside to let her in. Inside, her SHIELD-issued room was blank but clean. A bed, a desk and not much else. It smelled like new furniture and sterilised air. Natasha’s bag landed on the bed with a soft thump.
Sienna glanced at it, voice low. “You didn’t have to.”
Natasha shrugged. “Maybe not. But I wanted to.”
There was a pause, Sienna standing there in the uniform like a stranger in her own skin, until Natasha casually tossed out. “Ever seen The Land Before Time?”
Sienna raises an eyebrow. “The kids’ dinosaur movie?”
Natasha shrugs. “It’s about grief, survival, found family and betrayal in the face of a crumbling world.”
Sienna just blinked so Natasha continued. “And yes, it has talking dinosaurs.”
Sienna smirks faintly. “Sounds… uplifting.”
Natasha gives a dry smile. “Littlefoot’s mom dies in the first twenty minutes. Buckle up.”
Sienna stared at her like she was broken. Natasha just raised an eyebrow. “I will give you ten seconds to say yes before I find the remote myself.”
“I don’t-“ Sienna started but Natasha was already picking up the takeout and heading for the door.
“We’ll watch it in my apartment. Better screen.”
Sienna let out the smallest breath of a laugh and just before she followed, she grabbed a different sweater from the very top of the back, which smelled exactly like fresh linen and something distinctly Natasha.
⋆⋆⋆⋆
By the time the dinosaurs reached the cave and Littlefoot finally let themselves cry for his mother, broken voice echoing through the dark as he asked why she left, Sienna had stopped pretending to keep her distance. She was tucked beside Natasha on the couch, the blanket half falling off one side, a wine glass on the table and an empty plate beside it. Her eyes stayed on the screen but her fingers curled just slightly in the fabric between them, holding on.
Sienna’s head was leaned back, eyes glossy but peaceful. Natasha let the silence hang for a while before she spoke.
“I stopped the order.” She almost whispered.
Sienna turned to look at her.
“For his body.” Natasha added. “Luka. I told Maria to hold it.”
Sienna didn’t speak for a long moment. “I said I wanted it gone.”
“I know.”
Sienna exhaled, sharp and shaky. “I don’t know what I want.”
“You don’t have to.” Natasha said softly. “Not yet.”
Sienna closed her eyes. “He was my brother. He destroyed everything and I still can’t bring myself to just… erase him.”
“I get it.” Natasha’s voice was steady but there was a weight beneath it. “When I was a kid, Yelena and I were sent on a mission with two agents. For a little while, we played at being happy families in Ohio. They wiped our tears, cleaned the scrapes on our knees… and then they sent us back. Back into the hands of men like Dreykov. I should hate them. I should have killed them. They were accomplices, part of the system that betrayed us. And yet... when I found Yelena again, I found them too. Instead of finishing the job, I didn’t. Now? We spend one weekend a month at my mother’s- Melina’s farm in Russia, eating blini, drinking vodka, playing board games like nothing happened. We don’t talk about what they did, not because it’s forgiven but because sometimes, it’s easier to forget than to live without the people who once held you.”
Sienna didn’t speak, she didn’t even look at Natasha with pity, just understanding. “When it was Dreykov, I wanted to set fire to the world. I wanted to burn everything to the ground. And then I wanted to erase him from my memory completely. But neither worked. The anger, the pain, they didn’t disappear. I had to learn to live with what he left behind. With the shadows, the ghosts. And with the truth that sometimes, the people who hurt you most are the ones you can’t live without.”
Sienna let out a breath that trembled halfway into a sob. She turned her face away, scrubbing at her eyes with the back of her sleeve.
“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to- I don’t even cry but lately? God I hate crying.”
Natasha reached for the blanket and gently shifted closer. “That makes two of us.”
“I don’t know how to fix any of this.” Sienna whispered. “And I definitely don’t know how to repay you for not giving up on me.”
“You don’t owe me anything.” Natasha said simply. “I got into a lot of bad things for good reasons too. And I had people who helped pull me out. People who reminded me that surviving didn’t make me a monster.”
Sienna’s jaw clenched, eyes red-rimmed. “Do you really think I’m not one?”
“I think you’re someone who fought her way out of hell, who still chose to protect people even when it cost her everything.” Natasha’s voice softened. “That’s not what monsters do.”
Sienna dropped her head into her hands.
Natasha didn’t speak again, just reached out slowly, letting her hand settle on Sienna’s back, light and sure.
After a moment, Sienna leaned into her.
They sat like that a while, no more words needed. Wrapped in a warm blanket, surrounded by a dumb children’s movie and cold dumplings and the rare, fragile kind of silence that didn’t need to be broken.
It wasn’t a perfect ending but it was honest.

AHHH
OK OKOKO+OKFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF
HOLD ON ONE MOMENT
SO on the one hand I still adore the Syaoran club just getting together and theorising their escape plan. They have an idea of how to get out of the void and they’re determined to make it happen!
BUT THEN TECHNICALITIES COME BACK AROUND AND I’M THROWING THINGS
WHAT DO YOU MEEEAAAAN
WHAT DO YOU MMMMEEEEAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNN
WHEN DID YUUKO SAY THAT
DID SHE SAY THAT OFF SCREEN?
IF SHE SAID THAT OFF SCREEN WHAT A COMPLETELY WILD WAY TO INTRODUCE THAT IN THE FINAL CHAPTERS OF THE MANGA
JUST.
HEY YOU KNOW THE TWO PRECIOUS MAIN CHARACTERS OF THE MANGA WHO SUFFERED ENDLESSLY AND BOTH DIED AND THEN WERE LITERALLY COMPLETELY REINCARNATED INTO A DIFFERENT UNIVERSE TO HAVE A SECOND LIFE?
YEAH THAT DOESN’T COUNT THEYRE DEAD AGAIN.
WHY
Also I’m not sure if I even believe it when-
Oh no wait I think I figured it out.
I was going to say Syaoran makes sense I SUPPOSE since he was made by Evil Wolverine offscreen INITIALLY, so we don’t really know the method, but I thought Sakura was naturally occurring - except she isn’t, is she? She is technically the CLONE of the naturally occurring Sakura clone, who Evil Wolverine made off screen (around the end of Chapter 1) in a way that wasn’t explained until very briefly a little while ago - which is a whole list of technicalities to bring back all at once. I'm too distressed to find the exact page we find out Sakura is an Evil Wolverine clone OF a Naturally Occuring clone but here is my Sakura Chart that mentions it.
And it sure does give you a lot to think about. Like, does this mean Evil Wolverine’s clones count as Magical Constructions? Are they kind of like spells that required his magic to continue running in the background? That would be the only way this connects to the rules that actually checks out with me.
Because if they ARE magical constructions then that kind of puts them on the same level as the Clow Cards (from Cardcaptor Sakura), who were all magical living beings who NEEDED Clow Reed’s magic to continue existing, and that was why they needed to be converted to Sakura’s magic force in the second arc. THAT checks out at least. Especially since Clow kind of jumped through roughly 27 hoops to have his magic source continue in different places in different places for an unspecified amount of time until it was suddenly running out, so that explains the delay between his "death" and them starting to disappear.
Though this also brings up some interesting questions about some OTHER beings that I kind of read as being similar. Maru and Moro, for one, seem to have a similar existence - they were created by Yuuko, and so should technically be tied to her existence. Though they seem to have something else going on as well, since they were using a lot of their power to maintain the store well before Yuuko vanished, and are presumably still there but in their dormant form, so that’s probably yet another technicality that hasn’t been explained yet.
The OTHER example that immediately worries me are the Mokonas, who ARE clones made by Clow Reed and Yuuko, both of which don’t exist anymore. Are THEY also some other kind of technicality to avoid this rule?
It raises a lot of questions that I don’t really have the answer to. And more importantly I don’t really want to think about the fact that Sakura and Syaoran are just suddenly dying again.
LIKE OK COOL THEY HAD A PRETTY GOOD LIFE FOR A WHILE BUT HOW COME THEY CAN COMPLETELY REINCARNATE AS A NEW PERSON ENTIRELY AND STILL COUNT AS SOMEONE’S CREATION TO THE POINT THAT THEY COMPLETELY COME APART AS SOON AS THEY VANISH?
THAT’S SO EXTREME AND I AM VERY UPSET

hello, I have a question about your royal series.
original [name] = the princess… novel one. I did not want to write [P!Name] because it looks off to me
[name] = the one who got. ykw yeah you know.
I read the sources, and they all said that the original [name] had no magic, or at most, very little. But then, in Chapter 2, suddenly [name] has this magical ability? And without any difficulty at all? ‘I clapped my hands, and my magic kicked in, styling my hair, changing my clothes, and even applying skincare!’ I get that it’s technically a different soul, but still.. there’s not a single hint of struggle? It’s still the same body, even if the soul’s changed.
magic isn’t just a thing you can access without any explanation. There should be some kind of learning curve, right? Even if it’s a different soul in that body, the whole ‘instant magic’ thing just feels lazy. It makes the whole world feel inconsistent, like the rules only apply when they’re convenient. Where’s the struggle? Where’s the growth? You can’t just throw in an ability like that without establishing why it works this way, especially if the original [name] had none.
It's like... we’re supposed to believe this change is fine, but it doesn't feel fine. It’s way too smooth.
The special chapter gave us this dialogue where the original [name] is struggling with their identity. ‘had no strength to my name and was disgracefully unable to use my magic, but I knew I had some... I had to. Right?’, That’s a big emotional beat. It’s telling us that [name] was constantly battling their limitations. So why, when this.. new soul inhabits their body, does magic suddenly become a breeze? How does this person, who’s from a modern world with no frame of reference for how magic works, suddenly become a magical prodigy with zero effort? The contrast feels jarring. We went from ‘I have magic but can’t use it’ to ‘Oh, look, I can use magic now without breaking a sweat.'
I get that it's supposed to be ‘different soul, different circumstances,’ but this kind of sudden, effortless magic completely undermines the original character’s struggles. It’s like [name] just waltzes in and uses the magic better than the original, which makes the original’s journey feel cheap. Was all that emotional weight in the ‘special chapter’ just... ignored? Because it’s one thing to inherit a body, but it’s another to inherit its history, its emotional baggage, and its limitations.
and like. yeah, maybe you could say [name] have read countless books and watched movies where magic is a thing, right? They even explicitly say, ‘Let’s see if this is just like the movies.’ And that, right there, in my opinion, is a huge red flag. Because magic is never the same in any book or movie. In some stories, magic requires words, gestures, or rituals. In others, it’s based on emotions, sacrifices, or even the understanding of the universe. So why did [name] jump in thinking it’s definitely going to work the way they expect it to? That’s a classic sign of someone not fully grasping how unpredictable magic can be. Especially since we know that the original [name] had no actual experience with magic.
In my perspective, the real issue here is that magic in this world has already been established as something difficult for the original [name]. they couldn’t use it. So, how does [name] just waltz in and know how to use it? And more than that.. how do they have the confidence to think that their understanding of magic, based on movies and books, is the right one? There’s no humility in their approach, no sense of doubt. They should at least be testing the waters, asking questions, or struggling a bit. But instead, it’s like they’ve just assumed, ‘This is how it works,’ and it happens that way. Which... doesn’t feel earned.
like.. why is [name] so sure of themselves? They have no magic training, no context for the magical history of this world, nothing. There’s zero reason for them to be able to manipulate magic the way they do, especially considering that the original body was never shown to have that kind of talent or even a basic understanding of how to channel magic. The whole situation just makes the magic feel less like an actual part of the world and more like a convenient plot device.
and yes yes, I get it. [Name] is supposed to be this girlboss. totally confident, big ego, laid-back, and just oozing with self-assurance. And I get why you want to show her as someone who just owns everything she does. It’s supposed to make her seem super capable, right? But confidence isn’t magic. Sure, being confident can get you places, but it doesn’t instantly make you able to do things, especially in a world where you have zero experience with magic. There’s a difference between a character who’s self-assured and one who’s unrealistically good at something they’ve never even tried. And that’s the vibe I’m getting here, it’s not confidence, it’s plot convenience.
we just get this immediate mastery of magic that feels like the character’s confidence was just... grafted onto her abilities. The narrative is telling us she’s a ‘girlboss’ but isn’t showing us how that plays out. like in magic.
Also, the way this character is written kind of makes me question what ‘confidence’ really means in this story. Is she confident in her own abilities, or is she just... written as too confident, to the point where it doesn’t feel real? It’s one thing to have self-assurance, but another to have such blinding confidence that you ignore the logic of the world around you. This isn’t a world where magic is easy. it’s a world where the original [name] couldn’t even use it. So, how does this new soul from the modern world, with no magical training, come in and just start mastering it? The story feels like it’s telling us she’s powerful but not showing us why she deserves to be, or even how she struggles with that power. or anything at all.
what’s missing here is the ‘show, don’t tell’ principle in how the person’s confidence is portrayed. Instead of giving us the character's ‘confidence’ as a fixed trait, show us how it manifests in real situations. Confidence isn’t just an attitude, it’s a response to challenges. If she’s so confident about magic and other things, then the challenges she faces with it should reflect that attitude in a way that feels earned. instead, we just get this immediate and effortless success, and it undermines the impact of her character's supposed strength
and like, okay. I might be being dramatic, maybe this story isn’t supposed to be super serious. Maybe it’s more lighthearted, maybe it’s even poking fun at the whole neglected trope and the way things are often portrayed in fiction. But even then, there are some things you can’t just shrug off, no matter how ridiculous or playful the story is meant to be. And one of those things is internal consistency. the world has its own set of rules, and if you want the audience to buy into it, you’ve gotta make sure those rules make sense and are consistent, even in a more comedic or carefree context.
and I’ll continue, maybe this story is meant to be lighthearted, a bit of a romp, and not something we’re meant to take too seriously. I get it, I do. But there’s this thing.. even in lighthearted stories, you need to get the audience to care. You can’t just toss in cool scenes of magic or ‘girlboss’ moments and expect the reader to be like, ‘Yeah, this is great!’ without them feeling like they have something invested. In comedy, there’s still structure. still a reason why things happen the way they do. And without that, it feels like [name] is just being plopped into the story to do ‘cool things’ without any real consequences or stakes.
sure. yeah! maybe the magic is supposed to be over the top, but if everything happens without any struggle or effort, if she just knows how to do it, it’s hard for the reader to stay engaged. It’s kind of like watching someone play a video game on ‘god mode,’ right? Sure, it’s fun at first, but then there’s no sense of challenge, no satisfaction in watching them overcome something, and before long, you lose interest.
I mean, a big part of lighthearted stories is playing with tropes, right? you are already doing that with the ‘girlboss’ character and the neglected family theme, so why not take it further? Why not show her getting unexpectedly humbled by the very thing she thought she understood, like magic? If the magic is all-powerful and completely at her disposal from the start, then where’s the fun in that? Even in the most fun, breezy stories, the most interesting thing to watch is how a character grows. Otherwise, you’re just watching a character coast through a world without any real tension, and that’s boring.
and like, it was written that [name] is supposed to be this super-talented woman who dominates in many fields, then that actually adds complexity to the situation. Talent in one field doesn’t automatically translate into competency in another, especially something as unpredictable as magic. So, what’s bothering me is that a person who has mastered other fields, who’s supposedly mature and experienced, wouldn’t approach magic like this. She wouldn’t just ‘do what she saw in the movies’ and expect it to work. That’s... not what experienced people do. In fact, it's almost a red flag. If she’s as talented as they say, then she should at least be aware that magic isn’t something you can just learn from pop culture references.
this is where the ‘talented woman’ characterization really trips up. A person with a wide range of talents, someone who’s truly mastered multiple fields, understands that expertise in one area doesn’t give you instant mastery over something else. If you’ve spent years honing your skills in various disciplines, you get that expertise requires time, practice, and a deeper understanding of the field. A person who has achieved a high level of proficiency in multiple fields knows that you can’t just rely on external sources, like books or movies, to suddenly make you an expert. Especially in something as nuanced as magic. So, why is she going in blind? Why is she relying on what she’s seen in fiction? like why didn’t she go to the library?? she’s literally in that world right now???
It’s actually against the logic of her being someone who’s already talented. A woman who’s dominated other fields should have enough self-awareness to recognize that just reading about magic or watching it on a screen isn’t going to teach her how to actually wield it. Magic is one of those things, especially if it’s supposed to be a serious part of this world, that demands a deeper, more systematic understanding. A truly skilled, and experienced person would know to approach it with curiosity and caution, not cocky confidence. like, don’t just tell us that [Name] is highly confident and successful in multiple fields, show us through her actions, choices, and how she handles challenges. Let her maturity and experience come through in how she handles situations, not just in statements about her ego or achievements. Magic can’t just be figured out in a ‘one-size-fits-all’ way, not when every media portrayal of magic is so different. Don’t say she’s experienced; show us a moment where that experience pays off. Let the audience come to their own conclusion that she’s actually experienced and competent.
magic isn’t like other ‘skills’ that you just pick up and run with. You can’t rely on your previous achievements to make you an expert in a completely different field. And this is where the story’s logic gets iffy. You wants us to believe that because she’s talented, [name] should be able to pick up magic without a hitch. But the reality is that someone who’s truly talented, and therefore likely experienced, would know that not everything isn’t something that works so easily.
I don’t know, I’m sorry, I know rhis is a small detail but it kinda peeved me a little, I’m just a very dramatic person and very confused about this part of the story. like, isn’t chapter 2 basically like day 2 of being in the novel???? like did I miss a detail? in one of the chapters? ???? ? like unless the og novel was really in detail about magic and [name] managed to remember it all despite hating it, it just doesn’t make sense 😭 and even if it did, how was she able to do it in the og [name]’s body ?
Dog… WHY ARE YOU SO SMART?
I’m going to be so real with you guys when it came down to the story, at first it was supposed to be a random Drabble that I came up with so I was whipping up something out of nothing, chapter one at first was supposed to be a stand alone, giving MC no time to learn or develop anything but like the user get a gage at her personality and how cool she is but no development.
but then it blew up which I did not expect and didn’t want to leave it on such a cliffhanger that’s also why in my opinion chapter two was absolute booty more than half of that chapter was just me throwing things together in hopes that it suffices.
while chapter one was okay there are some changes that I do have to implement to make it better including not rushing certain things so if you see my chapters for this story prompt go down don’t worry it won’t be deleted forever.
I just rather build up the world and characters before we start with the actual story with that in mind chapter one will be edited and changed drastically and he current chapter will be scrapped and made anew. Any questions, comments, or concerns will be appreciated.
also if you guys couldn’t tell I’m having a hard writers block, nothings coming to my mind and sometimes I get other story prompts for other fandoms or just ideas that would just spiral into a whole new project so that’s why I have been seemingly dead.
I hope this addresses the problem and also why I’ve been on hiatus, I will be looking back at this question for help so thank you for writing and putting much thought into my idea!
not proofread btw…

Probably said this before but Rose and Lavender aren’t allowed to be in the same game/timeline at once because having a Quaquaval and a Meowscarada in the same place at the same time would be too powerful without a dirge to force them to stop being furries (yeah their box 24s are very powerful for that reason). Same with having the Proto Beasts and Neo Swords plus an Armarouge and a Ceruledge. Oh and because Luna and Knight would try to murder the entire other set of Paradox Pokémon the moment they detect signs of beings from the past/future
#oc: pokémon trainer rose#oc: pokémon trainer lavender#I use those as tags now to refer to my Scarlet and Violet player characters because I got attached to the idea of them meeting#and they’re technically not the same character#Rose is male and Lavender is female#Rose has orange as his main colour and Lavender has purple as her main colour#they took on the gyms and titans in slightly different orders#and just generally their teams are counterparts#quaquaval#meowscarada#proto beasts#neo swords#armarouge#ceruledge#roaring moon#iron valiant#okay technically I think Armarouge and Ceruledge wouldn’t be that powerful if they were in the same place at the same time#but I love them as much as I love Quaquaval and Meowscarada respectively so it would be unfair to not include them#pokémon

i think the reason why thunderbolts works so well is that the team is like 80% legacy heroes/ knock off avengers but they’re all old enough to remember when princess diana died
#don’t get me wrong I love my kid heroes#Kamala khan and Kate bishop my beloveds#but it’s actually quite fun to have a cast of characters grappling with carrying (or failing to carry) a legacy#but they can also like vote and stuff#rather than greatness being thrust upon them they’ve had to actively choose it#not like a kid ‘answers the call’ but a grown up going ‘god fucking dammit fine’#some in memory of loved ones (yelena/bucky)#others coming to terms with the fact they’ll never be the OG (John walker)#(I’d put red guardian with John too but he’s having too much fun to be burdened by it)#even Bob - he’s literally supposed to be a whole avengers team at once#but he’s also a grown man#a troubled dude in need of a support system but very much an adult#the only exception is ghost#but she’s still a grown woman trying to figure out where she fits but in a ‘30 something still flat sharing’ kind of way#in fact I’d argue the reason why she sticks out a bit in the cast is her character doesn’t quite have the same legacy to live up to#but she still has common ground as a fellow human experimentation/ childhood trauma survivor thing#idk there’s an interesting emotional maturity to the cast even when they’re bickering and quipping and feeling the big sad#tldr I like it when legacy hero’s are less starry eyed/teen angsty and more ‘okay okay I guess I’ll have to do it Jesus Christ’#brb gonna go have some thoughts about where mcu Sam Wilson fits in all this#mcu#thunderbolts#spoilers#actually not sure if Bucky remembers when lady di died technically but you get my point

I do think it’s funny when people say the Holiday girls are trans because they have antlers because. They’re reindeer. Female reindeer have antlers to, the sexual dimorphism in their antlers actually occurs in what time of year they grow and shed. Male reindeer start growing their antlers in February, females start growing them in May, they finish growing at the same time, then males drop them in late fall and females keep them through the winter and drop them in spring. This is like the One scenario where girl deer characters having antlers ISNT a sign they’re trans (/whoever designed them forgot/didn’t know) lmao
#kiri rambles#don’t get me wrong I love the trans headcanons they’re fuckin sick#but I will NOT stand for misinformation against my beautiful friend The Reindeer#aka the Caribou. Reindeer is what they’re called in Europe and for the holidays#technically they’re interchangeable but reindeer and caribou are in fact the same thing#anyways. it’s always weird to me that when there’s a deer character people default to assuming and designing them like they’re a white-#-tailed deer even when it’s very clear they’re a different kind of deer#don’t get me wrong Noelle designs with spots are very cute but Reindeer Don’t Have Those#idk. maybe I’m just being a nerd lmao#deltarune#deltarune spoilers#noelle holiday#noelle deltarune#deltarune noelle#rudy holiday#dess holiday#december holiday#carol holiday

Carcinization is vastly overrated. It only happens in crustaceans, and more specifically it only happens in one specific group of crustaceans that are mostly called crabs anyway even though they don’t always fulfill the technical criteria for being carcinized. Only four groups (other than true crabs) are considered to have carcinized, and the “non-crab” ancestors of two of them are hermit crabs.
#carcinization#being crabby#in more than one sense#carcinization is still interesting#insofar as the same suite of characters has evolved together several times independently#but it’s interesting in a kind of technical way#and it’s not particularly unusual#closely-related animals often evolve similar solutions to similar problems because they’re working with the same stuff#the other two groups evolved from squat lobsters#which are almost crabs anyway

I have been drawing Hazbin nonsense for more than a week, and maybe I should start to share more because I have so many things help
You shall have this for now
They are best friends
Lumi is from Japan and I like to think that their afterlife goal would be to introduce Japanese festivals to hell, at least in their small town (I should draw it halp)
And I think Rosie would adore them so much, even if only for the food.
MOVING ON ! Have Lumi art because I can
Only two family members managed to go to heaven, maybe I’ll dwell on that later on.

Found this screenshot of an old fan comic WIP I was making like 8 years ago that was set around the time of the PPG movie. I never finished it because of many reasons, mostly because I was busy and because I knew no one but me would probably be interested in it (also tbh I didn’t really have a satisfying ending planned, lol).
these are not the best mojo drawings I have ever made but he cute tho
#I mean maaaaaaaybe I could try making this again?#this was in manga studio but I kind of want to take a crack at csp’s comic capabilities#technically they’re the same thing but not or something? idk#lol guess who the main character of the comic was tho IT WASN’T MOJO who else is my brain fried for 😆

VOID.!,!
Updated ref sheet for this thing! Sick!! Since they only have one outfit (two if you count wearing nothing at all), their scar map gets to be in the full ref instead of a separate image.
They’re a super story-important character, so I figured I’d start their ref sheet next. Now it’s finished, and I cain get to work on the next one!
All their info & hex codes under the cut, as usual!
(Remember, ArtShield desaturated images it shields — if you’re going to draw them, reference the written hex codes instead of colour-picking! Also, I happened to forget to add a colour to the in-image palette)
Full name: Just goes by ‘Void’
Aliases: ‘V’, Mx. Termina (they hate that one, but Hyness won’t call them anything else)
Species: Draconic Demigod
Planet of Origination: Concept Universe
Age: 734,291,182,089
Height: 7’0”
Gender: Biologically female; identifies as genderless
Pronouns: They/Them/Theirs
Sexuality: Aromantic, acespike, pansexual (ish?)
S/O: None
Family: Void Termina (technically), directly related to all Ykka
A creation of Lord Yk, created for unknown reasons; they long abandoned their original purpose after their corruption.
Does not technically have any biological children, but they consider most of their creations to be family. Created the Astral species after the deaths of the Godsisters.
Doesn’t do much in a work sense, or any sense at all; for the most part, they just laze around in their Shrine or a retreat they found across Whispy Woods’ forest.
Came to Popstar after being purified by Kirby one year ago (or during the events of Star Allies). Has lived there ever since, and does not plan on leaving.
Generally kind, but very blunt and honest, and occasionally experiences strong mood swings causing them to be unusually rude, offensive, or sometimes even violent. They try to be decent, but because of their unfortunate past and connections to Void Termina as well as their current state of corruption, it’s a bit difficult for them to be so.
Spent most of their life aimlessly wandering the Universe before being purified and (in their own words) rescued by Kirby. Since then, they’ve lived in Dreamland, spending almost every day either relaxing or asleep. They’re not exactly a social character, and usually stay out of civilisation, either hiding away in their house (which is actually an old shrine they repurposed and redecorated) or alone on the opposite side of Whispy Woods’ forest, where they found what they describe as a miniature paradise. They occasionally invite Kirby to visit said paradise.
They rarely ever engage in any form of battle, but on the rare occasion they do, they always rely on their literal God-tier Soul Magic. Because of their abilities, they’re believed to be a part of, the twin of, child of, or otherwise related to Ylenik, the Ykka of Soul. It is unknown whether these assumptions are even remotely true, but the possibility is always there.

Me writing what should have been at most a bullet point one-shot comedic romance adventure: “hee hee hoo I’ll knock this out in no time”
Me, four months later and 112k+ words in: “Hmm I think I need to look at the practical engineering reference guide again so we can really assess the recycler issue on this cistern in the compound because I don’t know that they could have it on the lower level if the mountain rock is going to have a level 9 on the Mohs hardness scale—”
#Cannot stress enough how very little any of this research actually gets put into the fic itself#I just need for any technical/sci-fi details I include to sound somewhat believable even if they’re only mentioned in passing#Most of these conflicts are based on their environment so it has to have some measure of truth at the center#It’s like how you can tell when a book centered around nature or agriculture has been written by somebody who didn’t actually grow up aroun#either of those things and obviously hasn’t done their research to the point their characters know what they’re talking about#Anyway yeah. The soldiers need to seem competent at fixing their equipment and improvising tools based on the vast amount of training#and education they were given#Which means I as the author need to understand the problem the complications AND THE SOLUTION well enough the characters sound#not just knowledgeable but natural and familiar with it when talking about it#Same goes for the pilot. I’m pulling out my old flight manuals and looking into advanced avionics just so I can consolidate#a simplified answer into two sentences she can use to explain her area of expertise to somebody who has no idea what kind of ship she flies#Anyway#Fic: Call Sign#The actual simple reason for doing this is that effective imagery and worldbuilding fills out the world and makes it richer as a result#And unfortunately that means I am doing several crash courses in about fifteen different sciences so that I know what I’m talking about#Fun fact I wanted to be a cargo pilot but the aviation program at my university was THE most expensive major they had#And I’m not good/fast enough at math to get through even the small aircraft piloting guide 😞#If I can’t have the adventures and experiences I want I can at least tell stories where they happen#The good news is I have had plenty of experience fixing things and improvising technical solutions based on what science and history I know#So many of these problems are just household and vehicle issues on a bigger scale

I’ve said it before that I’d love it if there was a way to battle yourself from the opposite version (I have both Scarlet and Violet and put a decent amount of emphasis on Rose, my player character in Scarlet, and Lavender, my player character in Violet, being different characters but still alternate universe counterparts to the point where they have the exact same team structure - their starter (Quax the Quaquaval and Spriggie the Meowscarada), their version’s Fire Knight called Char (an Armarouge in Scarlet and a Ceruledge in Violet), their version’s “Paradox Leader” (Luna the Roaring Moon and Knight the Iron Valiant) and then their version’s Paradox Legendary trio in National Dex order (Blueberry the Walking Wake, Apple the Gouging Fire and Lemon the Raging Bolt and Cherry the Iron Leaves, Orange the Iron Boulder and Passionfruit the Iron Crown)) but now I’m thinking of other ideas for stuff it would have been cool for them to do in SV to allow you to hang out with yourself if you have both versions - specifically picnics and Tera Raid Battles
Picnics: literally the same as a normal picnic only you have both player characters and all of their Pokémon on their teams plus Koraidon and Miraidon there. You will probably need to connect a second (set of) joycon(s) in order to do it so that you can control both player characters. Camera probably follows the player from the current version being played (eg if I’m playing Scarlet when I set this up, the camera will follow Rose). Sandwiches probably work in a similar way to how they do in normal multiplayer idk. Koraidon and Miraidon can have a unique interaction with each other because that would be cool
Tera Raid Battles: half dealing with the issue where the Mewtwo raids are unable to be solo’d this is a nice way to fix things if you don’t have NSO assuming of course the Mewtwo raids ever rerun. I think I’m mainly doing this though because it would be a nice quick and easy way of getting the raid boss in both versions at the same time instead of having to swap versions. As an extra bonus, I could have a picnic with both versions at the same time afterwards to celebrate (good luck identifying which raid boss is which if I swap the raid boss into my team though). You control both of your player characters and the two of them are in the middle of the four characters taking on the raid, with the one from the version you’re currently playing being in the normal position (eg if I’m playing Violet when I do this, Lavender goes in the normal middle right position while Rose goes in the middle left position) and the camera stays in its normal position. The player in the normal position is the first of the two to get asked if they want to catch the raid boss (in this example, Lavender gets to choose first and regardless of her decision Rose chooses second. Their catching animations probably play at the same time and both are shown on screen). Obviously if one or both of them is ineligible to catch the raid boss (they’ve already caught it or have no box space) they’re ignored as normal and you’re warned before the battle that they won’t be able to catch it. Not sure if the NPCs should both be from the version you’re playing (Violet in this example) or one from each (if you’re taking up two slots there’s two left for the NPCs), with the one on the outer right being from the version you’re currently playing (Violet in this situation) and the one on the outer left being from the version you’re not currently playing (Scarlet in this situation) but I think it would be funny imagining a situation where Rose and Lavender meet up and Lavender is like “okay I brought some kid named Gianna with me, she has an Umbreon and wants to help us beat the raid boss. Hey, is that Logan, the guy with the Arboliva who always ruins my attempts to use a Future Paradox Pokémon by setting up the wrong terrain on repeat? Why’s he wearing your uniform???” apart from the fact that Rose wears the New Uniforms now so Lavender probably wouldn’t be able to recognise his school’s uniform that easily. Also this means if the best option for a defender for a certain raid is version-exclusive (like Miraidon for the Walking Wake raids) I don’t have to worry too much about struggling to battle because I can bring them alongside a probably more support-based option. Also that reminds me, it would be fun if I could use this to get a Walking Wake in Violet and an Iron Leaves in Scarlet
#at Game Freak please rerun the starter raids (at least up to Hisuian Samurott) once you’re done with the Pseudo Legendary raids#there are many from Cinderace to Hisuian Samurott I would really love to get in Scarlet if possible#and many from Cinderace to Chesnaught I would really love to get in Violet if possible#(well all of them technically. For both ranges. And I’m ignoring Pikachu because that already reran)#but just in general it would be fun if Game Freak added the ability to have both of your characters meet and do stuff together#and I think Tera Raid Battles are a great chance to do that#heck allow them to do group tasks in the Terarium together. I’d love some extra free version-exclusive Legendaries#(plus non-shiny Ray Kyurem and Necrozma. Ooh which Alola legendary do I fuse with Necrozma? The native one or the non-native one?)#but it’ll never happen so I’ll just dream about it. Well imagine situations because Rose and Lavender meeting and being rivals would be fun#Game Freak just doesn’t want a Meowscarada and a Quaquaval meeting without a dirge to balance out their raw power (joke)#or a Walking Wake and Iron Leaves meeting and annoying everyone by being too cuddly with each other (still a joke)#maybe it’s just damage control. I don’t see Luna and Knight getting on well#and no way they’re not bringing the Proto Beasts and Neo Swords into this (joke. I see Luna as anti-future and Knight as anti-past)#and then there’s the fact that five out of six of my Violet team have sword weapons or similar#(Knight and Orange have different blades but they’re different enough). I’m sure Spriggie’s hidden a knife in his flower bomb#point is I’m not sure if my Scarlet team can be trusted with swords#(Char has a cannon so she can probably be trusted. I trust her more with a sword than I trust her Violet counterpart with the same sword#Quax can definitely be trusted too. Luna sees four Future Paradox Pokémon using blades and decides blades are demonic or something)#Pokémon#pokémon scarlet and violet
