Neilloey angst where the reason why Neil isn't seen after WWI is because he and Skarloey got caught being affectionate, and if they'd been found by anyone except Robert Sam, they could have been reported and scrapped...

Sir Handel Brown I sending Neil away instead to a friend on the mainland so that both engines could live and scandal be avoided instead of his beloved engine and his paramour dragging down the entire railway and causing upheaval in an already overwhelmed community...

They're not human, and don't have the same conception of gender, but they're too human for such behavior to be ignored, especially in the heavily-Methodist Skarloey Valley...

Maybe one day, post 2017, they could be reunited again. Until then, they'll have to bury their feelings in the pits of their fireboxes and hope that one day, their tracks will cross again.

Scream ‘killer’ trivia

Scream (1996)

• The killers, or 'Ghostface' in this specific movie are Billy Loomis and Stu Macher. Their plan was to kill Sidney and frame her father, Neil Prescott, whom they have taken hostage, for their murder spree. The pair also reveal that they murdered her mother, Maureen, as she was having an affair with Hank Loomis (Billy's father), which drove Billy's mother away.

Scream 2 (1997)

• The killers in this particular case are Mickey Altieri and Nancy Loomis. The former was looking to become infamous in the ensuing trial and media spectacle while the latter was attempting to exact revenge on behalf of Billy Loomis.

Scream 3 (2000)

• In Scream 3, the culprit is Roman Bridger, who is apparently Sidney's half-brother, born to their mother Maureen Prescott when she was an actress in Hollywood. Years ago, he had unsuccessfully tried reuniting with her. Bitter over the rejection, Roman would film all the men she philandered with. He showed Billy Loomis the footage of his father with Maureen, which motivated him to kill her (thus setting off the events of the previous movies). However, when he discovered how much fame Sidney got because of those events, Roman snapped and lured Sidney out of hiding.

Scream 4 (2011)

• For this movie, 'Ghostface' turns out to be Jill Roberts and Charlie Walker, who explain that they committed the murders as a part of a remake of the first murders. Jill further reveals that she did it out of anger and jealousy of Sidney's fame and she wants the attention Sidney got for surviving the past killings. They also admit that they intend to frame Trevor as Ghostface.

Scream (2022)

• For this movie, 'Ghostface' turns out to be Richie Kirsch and Amber Freeman, who explain that they committed the murders after meeting on a Stab subreddit dedicated to sharing their dislike for Stab 8. They planned to remake the film in which Sam would be the killer seeking justice for her father's (Billy Loomis) death, hoping this would be recreated into a better movie.

‘Glee’ alum Darren Criss ready for National Christmas Tree Lighting ahead of Wolf Trap

His breakthrough role arrived on Fox’s “Glee” before winning an Emmy Award on FX’s “American Crime Story.”

This week, actor and singer Darren Criss performs live at the National Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony on The Ellipse outside the White House on Thursday night.

“This is my first year doing this particular event,” Criss told WTOP. “I’ve been lucky enough in my career to have done a number of things for the Bidens. That is a low-key humble brag. They haven’t decided to kick me off the invite list yet, but there’s still room! I could really biff it at the White House.”

He joins a star-studded lineup of Mickey Guyton, Dionne Warwick, Joe Walsh, Ledisi and St. Vincent.

“It’s a pretty cool list, man,” Criss said. “I just saw the list and I don’t know who printed the ad mat, but there’s no world in my mind where I would ever appropriately be anywhere higher or before the likes of St. Vincent, Renee Rapp. … When your name is with the likes of Joe Walsh, Dionne Warwick and many more, you can’t help but just have a huge wave of imposter syndrome.”

After that, “A Very Darren Crissmas” hits The Barns at Wolf Trap in Virginia on Saturday and Sunday.

“We’re just going from town to town spreading holiday cheer, man,” Criss said. “A lot of people put out holiday albums … just playing the very well-known songs. … My main goal in life is not necessarily as a performer but more like a curator. … If I had it my way, my Christmas album would have been 100 songs that no one’s ever heard of, but because I’m not a fool, I toe the line between familiar stuff but I do it in an unfamiliar way.”

Born in San Francisco in 1987, Criss grew up in loving “Star Wars,” “Transformers” and The Beatles. He pursued the arts as a theater major at the University of Michigan, performing in “Pride & Prejudice” and “A Few Good Men” before founding StarKid Productions to produce his own shows. That included the Harry Potter production “A Very Potter Musical,” which actually landed songs on the Billboard charts.

After appearing on the ABC series “Eastwick,” Criss’ big break came on Fox’s “Glee” (2010-2015), playing transfer student Blaine Anderson, who eventually married Kurt Hummel. Criss started out singing Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream” and ended by writing the Emmy-nominated song “This Time” for the series finale.

“‘Glee’ was incredibly popular and progressive,” Criss said. “I lucked out and won the golden ticket because when I joined that show, it already had a significant degree of attention where one of the most popular characters was Kurt, somebody who was making waves … in the queer dialogue amongst popular culture, the conversation of gay teens and representation of queer people on mainstream, linear, network television.”

He reunited with Ryan Murphy to play the killer Andrew Cunanan in “American Crime Story: The Assassination of Gianni Versace” (2017), beating out Antonio Banderas, Benedict Cumberbatch, Jeff Daniels, John Legend and Jesse Plemons to win the Emmy for Best Actor in a Limited Series.

“Actors wait a whole lifetime for parts like that,” Criss said. “This horrible thing happened because of a guy who happened to kind of look like me and be kind of my age and ethnicity. … Twenty years later, how do we make sure those tragedies don’t end up as these horrible things? To bring light to a darkness by illuminating the things around those tragedies, the other themes that led to how and why these things happened.”

On stage, his Broadway roles include replacing Daniel Radcliffe in “How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying” (2012), replacing Neil Patrick Harris in “Hedwig and the Angry Inch” (2015) and joining Sam Rockwell and Laurence Fishburne in the revival of David Mamet’s play “American Buffalo” (2022).

“I’ve really gotten to check a lot of boxes in what I believe to still be the earlier part of life and career, boxes that I really did always dream of and worked hard to get to,” Criss said. “Now onto Christmas baby!”

here’s the playlist, and my thoughts are under the cut!

Four Strong Winds

I didn’t really have any specific lyrics from this song, but I wanted to talk about it anyway. To me, this song is about holding onto hope that a relationship can survive and evolve into something new even though it seems over. Similar to how Ian and Anthony’s relationship had to dissolve so that it could change and come back better.

My Old Friend

Honestly, these lines made me think of so many things. Ian keeping the pictures of him and Anthony up, Anthony getting teary eyed over realizing that his childhood best friend was still there, the fact that they’ve known each other since 6th grade… Additionally, I like the last line here: ‘We’ll meet again, my old friend’. It’s sort of like a seed being planted, that eventually grows into them reuniting years later.

Turn the Lights Back On

I’ve actually had this song in my back pocket for a bit; I heard it when I came out and thought, ‘That sounds like an ianthony song, I should do something with it,’ and then I forgot about it. Until now!

This part ties back into the prompt for the first day (resentment). It represents how the resentment has changed over time into guilt, and then into acceptance, and finally into forgiveness and love. ALSO, it got me thinking about how Ian and Anthony never really stopped caring about each other, even with other emotions clouding their view for a little bit.  I’ll have to look for it, but it reminds me of an ianthony post that said something like, “love doesn’t die, but it can rot”. I’ve been thinking about that ever since I read it months ago.

Lumax headcanons: future edition

Max and Lucas move to New York for work and college because it’s not too far away from Home and Lucas’s family. Not to mention the incredible opportunities they have there.

Max is a paediatric surgeon, or is at least training to be one. Finally being granted a position at a hospital when she is 27.

Lucas is a scientist specialising in physics, more specifically space.

Lucas and Max don’t get married until they’re 25 but by the time they get married they have three kids, two boys and a girl. The eldest is Zach (5), Abi (4) and Myles (2). Zach loves both of his parents equally while Abi (her full name is Abigail) is obsessed with Lucas and Myles (who was born while Lucas was on a business trip so he had a day and a half with max before Lucas got there) is basically Maxs shadow.

The Sinclairs are very close to the Henderson’s (Dustin, his wife, and their son and daughter)

Myles’s full name is Myles Samuel Sinclair. His middle name being an homage to Max’s canon dad Sam. He has trouble talking. Not even uttering his first word (which is obviously mama) until he is 2. And as much as he loves Max he gets all of Lucas’s shy personality. Myles means “soldier” a strong name for a shy kid.

Abi’s full name is Abigail Sinclair, Max opting out of giving her a middle name claiming “if she gets married one day she could change her middle name to Sinclair like I will do with Mayfield”. She is pretty much a mix of max and Erica. She’s loud and argumentative but somehow angelic all at the same time. She is fascinated by her fathers work in science and technology and even helps him build model rockets. Abigail means ‘Fathers Joy’ in Hebrew which is pretty fitting all things considered.

Zach’s full name is Zachary Charles Sinclair, continuing the chain of first born sons in the Sinclair family having the first or middle name Charles (which is Lucas’s middle name and non-canonically his dads name). Zach leans more towards Lucas’s personality with a dash of Max’s but only when it comes to arguing with his younger sister. He wasn’t planned. At all. Max was 19 when she got pregnant with him and there were a lot of complications with the pregnancy resulting in him being born a month and a half early, when max was 20. They would spend nearly a month in the hospital with him before he was allowed to come home.

Lucas’s family are in love with the kids. Finding every opportunity they can to come to New York to help out with them.

Max’s family (excluding her biological father) aren’t allowed to see the kids at all. No exceptions.

The party hadn’t seen each other in 9 years when they reunite for the first time around Christmas time in 1998. Everyone being shocked that Lucas and Max are even still together.

They have a cat caller Oscar and a dog called Kevin. They couldn’t decide which to get considering Max and Lucas are cat and dog people.

Erica takes Abi under her wing. She teaches her how to braid her hair and teaches her all about the latest fashion. (Even though she is 4 and most definitely doesn’t understand what she is saying.)

They live in a three bedroom apartment. Abi and Zach share a room but Abi and Myles will switch when he is old enough to move out of the nursery.

The Sinclair kids are very athletic.

Max and Lucas go to the gym together all the time while they’re both off work, Abi and Zach are at pre-k and Myles is at daycare.

Myles suffers with separation anxiety when he and Max are separated for too long.

Now this part has to do with maxs trauma so if you don’t want to read that skip ahead.

Max often feels that she isn’t good enough. Neil engraved into her brain at a young age that she doesn’t deserve to be loved. So when Lucas asks her what’s wrong she says this:

‘Do you know how it’s feels, to come home everyday from work and look into your kids eyes and think, “Why are you still here? I don’t deserve you. I don’t.”do you know how it feels to look your own baby in the eye and have an overwhelming urge to leave because they would be a hell of a lot better without you. I hate that I think like this but how couldn’t I? After everything.”

He holds her close on nights that she feels this way.

Max is diagnosed with anxiety two months after leaving Hawkins.

Her and Lucas agree that they won’t let each other go. Max makes sure she and Lucas always go to bed happy. For her sake. For Lucas’s sake. And most importantly, for their kids sake.

She is constantly worried that he’ll leave. Even after having three kids together. She’s still worried because she knows how it feels to have divorced parents. It hurts. And step-parents and step siblings could be the worst thing to ever happen to you.

End of Trauma Talk

Lucas holds onto Max as tight as he can. He never let’s go. They never divorce. They grow old together. The end.

Ps. The Sinclairs love the snow. They spend summer in California with maxs dad and winter in New York with Lucas’s family.

DID theory part 3: St novels/comics/spotify list analyses

*read part 2  of DID theory-first! You’ll be lost otherwise, seriously XD. First, I’ll say -I find the ST comics/ books as canon as the st movie inspirations . I don’t consider the books/comics ‘literal canon’ (cause they contradict the show ( like Max and billy meeting a year before s2  in runaway max - but meeting as little kids in s3,  or El’s age being wrong in suspicious minds, in the d&D comic Will’s friends instead of him /Jonathan building castle byers, etc) . 

So I think we shouldn’t take it  literally - but more like the st movie lists - filled with foreshadowing/symbolism and other eastereggs (That the Duffers may have told them to add). So here’s some more (possible) alter / DID hints...

‘Suspicious minds’ novel

- Brenner  equates k*lling rabbits to h*rting kids. And he’ll hurt (kid) Kali (the bunny in the analogy) if Terry tries running away from him . I wonder if Lonnie used a similar threat against jonathan? Jon could be giving only a partial truth to why he cried for a week (about the bunny story)?

-Kali “hops” like a bunny then talks about tigers obsessively (linking her to rabbits/tigers similar to the other alters/Will/Lonnie). Terry also imagines tigers and kali says to Alice they can all be tigers together.

- one of the only male psychic experiments (who can see the future) is gay

- Terry is into lord of the rings, like Will. Has her and her boyfriend dress as sam & frodo (m/m ship). Terry calls her and her friends “the fellowship”.

-when Terry/Alice were injected with d**gs -they hallucinated rainbows.yikes.

- Alice (like Lonnie) is a car mechanic. She can see the future like Will the wise and says “monsters of course my mind has them as long as they stayed in there, everything would be alright? Wouldn’t it?” (in her visions she saw the demogorgan).

 (completed) graphic ST novels (by Jody Hozer) so far  (+ other st comics).

*Jody Hozer writes all the graphic novels (every novel is 4 chapters each) - the will byers comic, number 6 comic , into the fire comic, and at the moment she’s writing the d&d series and the summer camp series (which isn’t done yet). Then there’s the occasional 1 chapter st comics not written by her.

- Number 6 has (the ability to foresee the future like Will the wise/Alice) and has an ab*sive dad. 

When having a nightmare of the demogorgan ...she says as she wakes up “screw you dad” (another hint the demogrgan -aka in d&d means ‘deep father’ ...is Lonnie).

- when number 6 and others run they say they’re’ “rabbiting”(which yes technically makes sense but I found such an uncommon phrase odd.)

- The (summer camp and d&d graphic novels aren’t completed yet) but they establish d&d creatures are based off  real life people the boys don’t like in real life. Or that d&d is used as an outlet to explain true events from their pasts -but they just give the true stories a d&d fantasy slant.

- Which brings me to the halloween oneshot(not by Hozer),taking place before s1. Will tells a scary story told to him by Jonathan, and originally told to him by Lonnie. Says the boys have to keep it a secret cause it was something he was never supposed to tell to anyone. Mike says he has to finish the story he started. It’s about a “ch*lld-eater” monster first attacking a boy near the quarry (like where Will was found) and  attacking kids in a library (where Will was also found in s1).When the child sees the sheriff she bangs on the library door begging for help-he ignores her , walks away, and tells the other cops to never speak of what they saw as she screams for help. Because the previous sheriff was in kahoots with the monster. It def had some ... uh questionable imagery too 0_0

The vine in the mouth is also like the one in Will’s mouth (when Joyce found him in the library).And of course Dustin asks whether or not something like that could be covered up.

- In the “bully  comic” (about troy) also not by Jody. We focus on Troy and his ab*sive dad (who encourages him to fight/ditch his best friend). The dad has a drinking problem (gets fired), calls Troy a “mess” , pushes him, and constantly encourages Troy to be vi*lent/macho. He pretty much tries sabotaging the relationship Troy has with his friend (which I could see Lonnie doing in the future with byler).The dad/troy is framed similarly to when Billy gives Max a ride home-  after both ab*sers give bad advice saying not to hang out with their friend (after witnessing them fight in the school parking lot). Dad also laughs about almost k*lling a squirrel (a trait we see troy mimic)- and we see El feel guilty about k*lling a squirrel in s2. At the end of the comic- Troy (like Will) after making up with his bff james- moves leaving his best friend behind.

-  (into the fire) Twins: (one was normal with no powers living in the real world and the twin with fire powers is trapped in a dark sunless “cold” world styled like a psych facility/medieval fantasy) . pics in link.She hated her reflection cause it reminded her of being betrayed by her normal non powered twin who left her behind in the ‘cold’ place. She’d call herself a ‘hunter’ who would defend herself and attack others to never be hurt again. Her powers being unleashed were described like opening “a door.” And she loves her twin deep down and just wants friends . And fire twin goes to the “other side” to reunite with her reflection and find happiness in the real world. *also there’s sunflower/bunny symbols which she lights on fire-which can relate back to Will/Terry/Lonnie etc. The twins = Will & Will the wise (mf)

*I think this foreshadows the later plot points of mf (will the wise ) and Will interacting via mirrors. The fire-wielding twin and the non powered twin had a lot of mirror imagery. Including the fire powered twin (Who denies reality/and imagines herself in a fantasy world) punching her reflection because it reminds her of her non-powered twin. Here’s some cover art from the novels showing how much they emphasize mirrors.

*And in s4 movies Black swan - “the black and white swan twins (two halves of the same person-Nina)” had creepy mirror imagery. In long kiss goodnight the women with DID talks to her “ (supposed)dark 1/2″  via a mirror (in a dream).  in ‘the visit’ the teen girl who’s dad abandoned her when young-  refuses to look in the mirror (and it’s never explained why she hates her reflection). So yes I think we’ll see this in s4 or 5. We already see the mf take on the appearance of Billy when talking to him.

- Will in “zombie boy” comic is afraid he’s a monster.

also lets appreciate the lil byler moment of Mike and Will being the only zombies and mike comforting him. honestly , though, the characters were pretty out of character for most of this 1 ch comic (until the end) tbh.

- in the “d&d comic” mf is  (possibly) described as a “protector” (aka like how i said the mf is probably a perpetrator alter- which are misguided protectors).

*update now that it’s finished... hinting Will created everything subconsciously.

‘Runaway Max’ novel (before s3)

(I didn’t get time to read this book unlike ‘suspicious minds’ -so can’t show screen shots of everything others talked about. May read it eventually)

-Max compares Billy  to ‘her monster’ and a ‘shadow’ that will attack anyone that comes close (mf parallel).

- Dart k*lled a cat,  El’s papa tried to force her to k*ll a cat. And Billy when seeing a d*ad cat lights it on fire for a “viking funeral”. A connection to WW (who has fire powers) and El & dart.

-Max and Billy both are into cars and bond over fixing them (similar to Lonnie’s interest in fixing up cars). And since Lonnie tried to brag to Jonathan about fixing a car up and Will is into tech it wouldn’t be a stretch that Lonnie and Will were into fixing cars together (like Max/billy who would hang out at a autoshop in Cali) .  Similar to Will ,max says hanging with Billy wasn’t always so bad- which made things more confusing to her.

- Max compares Billy being beat up by Neil: to ‘punching a pocket of a baseball glove’. This is interesting since this book was pre-s3 which was when they established the connection of billy and his dad to baseball (similar to s1 saying  Lonnie taught Will baseball).

-Billy’s friend is a nice ‘music snob’ . He tries distracting Max with music while Billy is burning the cat. Which reminds me of Jonathan trying to distract Will from their parents fighting in the next room-with music

- Max’s bio dad is a criminal who takes her to shady bars, and Max fears he’d ‘get bored of her’. Max also ran away from her mom to her dad’s 2x.Which reminds me of Jonathan thinking Will ran to Lonnie’s in s1.

-Max mentions how Billy misses his friends after moving out of Cali. And he starts acting even worse-after the move. Which will probably be the case for Will (at least a bit) when moving to California.

-Billy tells Max Neil isn’t his ‘real dad’ either because Neil can’t be a father to anyone.

-Billy also tells Max who (at the time ) is 12 years old not to act “easy” and breaks her best friend’s (Nate’s) arm over  someone joking he was Max’s boyfriend and also cause Nate tried to get in between Billy bullying Max. Eventually all her Cali friends ditch her cause they’re afraid of Billy.And Ugh- why could I see Lonnie doing something like this in the future with Will/his new friends. 

- Creepily Max says Billy doesn’t fool around with her like other girls not because of her age or being family. But cause she wasn’t ‘attractive’. This whole excerpt gave me the heeby jeebies,on so many levels, honestly.  Almost like he’s jealous- and controlling her cause he doesn’t want Max to have any love interests. Maybe i’m just missing the context? But ugh... excerpt:

Will byers secret Files

-Hopper gets scared by a pumpkin-scarecrow. And in Will’s canon journal when talking about the mindflayer and his nightmares draws the same scare-crow , Hopper saw. There’s also a lot of s4-5 foreshadowing in the book... but that’s a post for another day.

 I think it’s more foreshadowing for future seasons though- cult/supposed ritual k*llings, people being wrongly blamed for those crimes-like the hellfire club , most likely.  (similar to the guy number 3 in the number 6 comic)  saint john in the novel also has the same brain control powers as 3- similar to the mf. .” When a blackout plunges the boroughs into chaos, Hopper must escape the the mobs in the streets to make sure his family is safe and stop Saint John from fulfilling his prophecy.” I already talked about here- how the next few seasons would start having more religious symbolism/a future apocalypse (based on what we’ve seen in the show/s4 movies). Although, i think there’s quite a few differences between (the novel’s) saint john and Will the wise. Hopper is also a star wars nerd like the boys (alter hint)

Oo I love spn music!! Some peak moments that come to mind: Season 1: Don’t Fear the Reaper by Blue Oyster Cult Season 2: Renegade by Styx Season 3: Highway to Hell by ACDC Season 5: Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door by Bob Dylan, that cover of Oh Death for Death’s entrance, Rock of Ages by Def Leppard (Season 5 had it goin on)

6. Do you have any psychological headcanons (or canon interpretations) of the characters?

Ok anon I'm not gonna lie I started writing a response and it's getting so long I'm going to have to make it a separate post 😂

28. Do you think Sam expected Dean to kill him in Lucifer Rising? What are your thoughts on the voicemail? Do you think they ever resolved it offscreen?

That honestly never occurred to me until I saw this question, so no to the first part! That whole season is basically about how Sam thinks he has to kill Lilith on his own because Dean is too weak for the job, so I don’t think Sam sees Dean as a threat to himself; he sees him as an obstacle to his goal. That said, perhaps it crossed Sam’s mind that it might come to a lethal confrontation if Dean gets in the way, but I don’t think Sam thought Dean showed up specifically to kill him—just to stop him.

As for the voicemail, it makes me sad! But I do think they talked about it, at some point. It’s just too big to have been swept under the rug. The Winchesters are very good at not talking about their feelings, but I think it would’ve had to come out—Sam would’ve mentioned something about “well if that’s how you really feel” and Dean would’ve been like “woah what.” There’s just so much of their lives we don’t see onscreen, there’s ample time for them to have talked about many of the issues we always wanted to see them address, and there’s no compelling reason to insist they didn’t.

64. What are the central themes of Supernatural to you? Did the finale counter or reinforce them? Shape them?

Oh my God, this could be another essay lol. To name just a few of the themes in Supernatural that fascinate me:

The false promise of the American Dream, American decay, outsider status in American society (from a blue-collar perspective) and transience, liminal spaces in America (the motel, the highway).

The biggest theme, though, of course, is family. And I don’t mean found family, though there are examples of it on the show (Bobby, Jody and her girls). Family in Supernatural is endlessly complex and multivalent. First, it is the site of trauma, the origin of so many monsters and hauntings. Tainted bloodlines/family curses (Rugaru, vessels, descendants of Cain), parental abandonment (God, Rowena, even John and Mary in their own ways), perversions of family attachments (the way vampires build their nests, literal incest in Family Remains, and of course, the Winchesters and their tragic chain of demon deals to save each other). So many MOTW episodes also have to do with family ties and traumas: victims are constantly losing and grieving siblings and children and parents.

But it’s more complex than “horror begins with the family,” because in Supernatural, familial love is also its own redemption and reward. It is the ultimate site of comfort; being barred from those family comforts is the worst punishment imaginable, and separation from family just as often causes harm as family itself. The show begins with the fracturing of the Winchester family with Mary’s death. And for all the problems their codependence causes, Sam and Dean’s fraternal love saves the world more than once. The power of their bond, frightening and uncomfortable though it is, is redeemed by the show. They stop the apocalypse. They stand up to God himself. When they’re separated or on the outs, they usually cause more harm than good. They do keep each other human, even at the same time as their bond makes them unique and abnormal. They are set apart from “regular” people with their chosen status, their destiny to play out so many fratricidal scenarios. They do unthinkable things for each other. And yet, their love is also humanizing; it is something they chose, not dictated by God.

It is that fraternal soul-bond that is at the heart of the show, more than what any one individual character wanted or represented. The finale absolutely reinforced this theme for me. Dean’s death is horribly tragic but the yearning of two souls to be reunited only confirms their commitment to each other. Sam and Dean could never be accused of being forced together by circumstance. In the new, open Heaven, they choose each other, even after Sam has lived the “apple pie” life. The finale also reinforces the positive aspects of family with Sam having a son—a Winchester who, for the first time ever, isn’t the pawn of cosmic beings. He’s not inheriting his father’s trauma, unlike Sam and Dean. The Winchesters are no longer a haunted lineage. Even though the love story of Sam and Dean is tragic (at least on this plane of existence—their separation is the last consequence of the “Family Business”), the ending is surprisingly optimistic in the macro sense. And because I don’t want to be misunderstood: I don’t believe Dean “had to die” to break the cycle. Sam probably wouldn’t have had a son if Dean lived, but still, the cycle was always going to end with them. The point is not passing it on to a future generation. Sam and Dean were, to an extent, living free after 15x19, but they are both the products of their pasts and neither of them escape unscathed; still, they both lived meaningful lives and are ultimately rewarded with reunion and peace in Heaven.

Can I talk a little bit about Supernatural and Destiel?

I should say - I didn’t start watching it until this year. I was aware of Destiel this year - it was all over everything I looked at online - and it seemed to me those that enjoyed Good Omens liked Supernatural too. It was free on Amazon Prime then, so I started it.

I know there’s a lot of people saying now they don’t like it, they used to and have got over it, they just can’t be bothered with it anymore - but I loved it. I still do. I binge watched (you knows I even loved that the monster looked human, because a scary monster to me is not something that looks monstrous, but someone who looks like your neighbour, someone you’d trust to help you carry your groceries. Plus the whole parallel with if monsters look human whats to stop Dean and Sam from being monsters - and I’m pretty sure their Dad is)

Anyway - I got to season ten and then the episodes stopped being free and I thought, I’ll wait - they’ll come back. Season 15 was on streaming in All 4 for free, but I didn’t want to spoil until I’d seen the rest so I avoided it.

And then Destiel became canon.

So I went back and said I will watchbsesson 15, even if I can’t watch 11-14 for ages. Supernatural in the UK is only up to episode 8 and only episodes 4 to 8 of season 15 were available to watch - so I did.

I’m sorry. I’m so sorry. But I still love it. I loved the use of Chuck. I loved Becky speaking for me (where Cass?). I love Eileen. I love it.

Now - to digress again - I’ve heard people say that Good Omens isn’t a love story because no-one says I love you. But Neil Gaiman said he wrote it with the beats of a love story - the breakup, the reconciliation - all that. And watching Destiel now, having come back to it from season 10 - the bits I’ve seen - they are the beats of a love story.

Sam trying to get Cas back - but deliberately not asking Dean to call him (there’s always a best friend/sibling trying to reunite the lovers), Cas being forced to call Dean - and hearing his voice for the first time in ages - when Dean puts the phone down Cas angrily wipes away a tear - and Dean is in foul mood the rest of the episode. The unexpected reunion in the bunker is shot just like every love story reconciliation of two lovers who have argued finding themselves together again - staring at each other across the table dividing them. And the parrallels at the end with Eileen and Sam holding hands looking at Dean and Cass together. This feels like a love story to me.

The thing with Dean is - he never admits his feelings. Never. Not until he is pushed to. But he acts on them. He went into Purgatory to save Cas. He prays to Cas. He demonstrates his love over and over again - even while he is telling himself he does not love. Dean was bought up to be a hard man, a tough man - a man who does not allow himself the weakness of loving. Sam got away and learned to love but Dean never got that. He was taught not to love and if you do, you’ll probably end up having to destroy what you love.

I keep reading posts saying Supernatural is rubbish now, it’s always rubbish, Destial canon is a disappointment and sort of assuming that anyone who still loves Supernatural and has hope for Destiel and believes Dean loves Cas is a bit of an idiot. And I’m sorry, I really am - but I am that idiot. I do still love Supernatural. I still do have hope for Destiel.

As of this week, Starz and FremantleMedia North America (FMNA) started filming the 10-episode first season of "American Gods," the adaptation of Neil Gaiman's renowned contemporary fantasy novel. In Toronto, Canada, filming has begun and will continue in other sites around the United States. Cloris Leachman will play Zorya Vechernyaya, Peter Stormare will play Czernobog, Chris Obi will play Anubis, and Mousa Kraish will play The Jinn.

Obi portrays Anubis, the powerful ancient Egyptian deity of the dead who gently guides humans through the soul-judgment process. In the movie, Kristen Stewart, Charlize Theron, Chris Hemsworth, Chris O'Brien, and Sam Claflin star in Rupert Sanders's direction.

Princess Snow White is the daughter of King Magnus and Queen Eleanor and is the princess of Tab Ravenna is King Magnus' bride after he saves her from the Dark Army, an invading group of glass soldiers. Ravenna, a strong sorceress, and the Dark Army's master murders Magnus on their wedding night after observing that men like him abuse and squander women's beauty.

Snow White, abducted by Ravenna's brother Finn, is rescued by Duke Hammond, who leaves the castle with his son William as Ravenna takes control of the entire kingdom. Chinatown becomes Snow White's prison.

Over the following many years, Ravenna uses the Magic Mirror (Christ Obi) to catch all the ladies whose beauty may surpass her and drain their youth. In order to preserve a spell placed by her mother that permits her to wield her beauty as a weapon as long as she is "the prettiest of them all."

Tabor, meanwhile, is left in ruins by her reign, and Ravenna's misuse of magic causes her stolen beauty to fade. Ten years later, Ravenna hears through the Mirror that a grown-up Snow White is destined to surpass her and that in order to become eternal, she must eat the young girl's heart. She orders Finn to bring her Snow White, but she flees and is pursued into the Dark Forest, where Ravenna's troops eventually lose track of her.

Snow White searches the castle and faces Ravenna, fighting her stepmother one-on-one. Following Snow White, William, the Huntsman, and several guards were assaulted by Ravenna's dark army.

Ravenna is ready to kill Snow White, believing she has won, but the princess utilizes the defensive maneuver the Huntsman taught her, stabbing Ravenna in the heart and saving Snow White Ravenna removes the blade from her body in horror, but three droplets of blood fall over Snow White's armor.

She crawls to her cherished mirror after being mortally wounded and wilts away. Snow White comforted the Queen by telling her: "You cannot take my heart." Duke Hammond's army defeats the Dark Army.

Snow White is proclaimed queen with Prince William and the dwarves by her side at the end of the darkness. As she surveys her charges, her eyes are drawn to the Huntsman, and the two exchange a grin, implying a possible love future for the two.

Development and Casting

Both Angelina Jolie and Winona Ryder were considered for the role of Ravenna. Charlize Theron left J. Edgar to work on this project. Eric, the Huntsman, was considered for roles by Johnny Depp, Tom Hardy, and Michael Fassbender. Viggo Mortensen had been in talks to play the Huntsman for months, but negotiations broke through, and Mortensen stepped out.

Hugh Jackman was offered the part of Eric after Viggo Mortensen turned it down. Alicia Vikander, Alicia Vikander's daughter Bella Heathcote and Selena Gomez were all considered for the role of Snow White, as well as actresses Emily Browning and Felicity Jones. Hemsworth was left with a black eye after Kristen Stewart inadvertently struck him in the face.

Kristen Stewart tore a ligament in her thumb during an attack sequence with the dwarfs in October 2011. During filming, Stewart also suffered a foot injury. Kristen Stewart beat out Lily Collins in the auditions for the starring role.

Flash Gordon will be released on 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray on August 18 via Arrow Video. Adam Rabalais designed the new cover art for the 1980 science fiction action-adventure film; the original poster is on the reverse side.

Based on the King Features comic, the cult classic is directed by Mike Hodges (Get Carter, Damien: Omen II), written by Lorenzo Semple Jr. (Papillon, King Kong), and produced by Dino De Laurentiis (Army of Darkness, King Kong).

Sam J. Jones, Melody Anderson, Ornella Muti, Max von Sydow, Topol, Timothy Dalton, Mariangela Melato, Brian Blessed, and Peter Wyngarde star. Queen performed the soundtrack.

Flash Gordon has been restored in 4K by Studiocanal from the original camera negative with the approval of Hodges. It features 5.1 and 2.0 stereo DTS-HD Master audio options.

In addition to standard editions, both the 4K UHD and Blu-ray will be available in collector’s editions with a bonus disc containing Life After Flash, the 2017 documentary on Jones, and more.

Darren Criss has come on board to complete the cast of the upcoming Broadway revival of David Mamet's American Buffalo, joining previously announced co-stars Laurence Fishburne and Sam Rockwell in the modern classic about three small-time hustlers.

The project marks Criss' return to Broadway for the first time since his breakout success as Andrew Cunanan in FX's The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story, which earned him Emmy and Golden Globe Awards.

Criss made his Broadway debut in 2012 as J. Pierrepont Finch in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying and followed in 2015 with a stint in the title role of Hedwig and the Angry Inch. The Mamet drama will mark his first nonmusical project for Broadway.

Fishburne will play junk-shop owner Donny, with Criss as his young gofer, Bobby, who gets involved in a plan to steal back a rare coin inadvertently sold to a customer for what they believe is a fraction of its worth. Rockwell will appear as Don's poker buddy, Teach, who insinuates himself into the scheme, insisting that Bobby is too inexperienced.

Mamet's explosive play about the murky overlap between crime and business had its Broadway premiere in 1977 and has been a magnet for accomplished actors over the years, among them William H. Macy, Robert Duvall, Al Pacino, John Goodman, Damian Lewis and Dustin Hoffman, who starred in the 1996 film version.

Frequent Mamet collaborator Neil Pepe will direct the revival, with Jeffrey Richards, who also has a long history with the playwright, serving as lead producer. It begins previews March 24 ahead of an April 14 official opening at the Circle in the Square Theatre.

The current tenant at that Broadway house, the Tony-winning revisionist revival of Rodgers & Hammerstein's Oklahoma!, is scheduled to end its limited engagement there on Jan. 19.

Criss will next be seen starring with Patrick Wilson, Luke Evans, Woody Harrelson and Mandy Moore in Roland Emmerich's World War II feature drama Midway, opening Nov. 8. He recently wrapped production on the musical comedy series Royalties, due next year on Quibi, and is currently in production on the Netflix limited series Hollywood, which reunites him with creator Ryan Murphy, an association that stretches back through American Crime Story to Glee.
