ya know in the sonic community there’s only a few ships I don’t really like it’s not that I hate them and I think in certain series they’re amazing but if I could avoid them all together some days I’d choose it

Super forms /// Chaos energy

My theory is that every mobian has some amount of chaos energy within them, characters with a higher level of it can develop special powers and the ability to become super while mobians with the energy level higher then most but not enough to transform are gifted with other smaller abilities

So instead of the “only male hedgehogs can have a super form” rule it would be “only mobians with a high chaos energy affinity can transform” since limiting it only for the gender of a certain species is stupid, but I also know they can’t give it away freely because it would become too common and less special

So going off of it, it would make sense since Shadow is literally overflowing with chaos energy and has to wear inhibitor rings to limit it, Sonic is naturally gifted and has a bond with the emeralds, Silver has mind powers so assuming they developed BECAUSE of his high chaos energy would also check out with this theory, same goes with Blaze’s powers (and Sonic’s speed) plus her being the guardian of the sol emeralds and having a strong bond with them, idk much about Trip but seeing as her super form is a dragon she probably also has a lot of chaos energy stored in her

As for characters like Amy and Knuckles who have a higher amount of chaos energy then most but not enough to transform, are gifted with an ability similiar to a radar, with Knuckles being the guardian of the M.E and having a strong bond with it he can sense it and it’s shards, as well as chaos controls, chaos emeralds, sol emeralds, and fake emeralds

and Amy having her “girlish intuition” or a “Sonic radar” as she calls it, can sense other people’s aura (or chaos signatures)

I don’t see Amy’s and Knuckles’s strength as power, rather it’s just something they achieved through hard training

As for Espio’s invisibility, that just comes with his species like real life’s chameleons camouflage, Vector’s fire breathing hasn’t been brought up outside of Sonic Heroes and Sonic X so idk if he still can do it but he has his powerful scream that is still being used in the IDW comics and to that I say he’s just built different

Also, I’m not sure if that means that Surge and Kit could technically have a super form since idk if their powers are artificial or not (and yeah I know that Shadow is man made but they used chaos drives to create him so his powers developed on their own)

I know most Sonic fans would want other characters to have super forms but for me it makes perfect sense why they are limited for those specific few

(Btw I just realized that the colors of the emeralds are the same as the chakra colors, except the white one, it would be fun if they were perfectly aligned tho)

okay so i made a pinterest and seeing all the sonic headcanons is making me want to make my own so… SONIC HEADCANONS ‼️

Sonic is very forgetful and as such Tails puts sticky notes around their house reminding him of any errands he needs to run or things he has to do

Sonic loves to boast about Tails’ accomplishments. Sonic has the biggest ego but he’s also so proud of Tails that he will, much to Tails’ embarrassment, loudly proclaim how cool his inventions are

Amy loves going over to visit Cream and Vanilla to help out, and she loves baking with them

I don’t see people talking about Vanilla nearly enough, but i think everyone who knows her adores her and likes to help her out - she is a single mum, after all. Sonic will run errands for her, Amy will babysit Cream, Knuckles will carry her grocery bags for her, Tails will make her little gadgets and trinkets with Cream, etc. It’s all very sweet

Sonic takes a lot of naps. It doesn’t matter when or where he just plonks himself down and he’s out

Amy carries a polaroid camera around with her to take photos with her friends and then pin them to a cork board

I’ve seen this said before, but Silver is a history nerd

He’s also a giant trivia fan. He’s the kind of person that’ll memorise the dates that his favourite movies came out and then pull that fact from nowhere and his friends are all really confused as to why he knows that off the top of his head (No i’m not projecting. Shh.)

I also strongly believe Tails knows how to sew and has a sewing machine

Blaze, Shadow and Espio probably have a book club. Sometimes Tails and Silver will join them on their sessions.

Knuckles taught Amy some hand-to-hand combat. Boxing stuff, yaknow?

Blaze’s gloves are a lot tougher and more abrasive to withstand her fireballs

Sonic is a big fan of older things believe it or not. From classic fairytales and stories (thinking back to the storybook games), to retro music and 80s movies

^Side note, he also loves Michael Jackson’s music and i think he’d love Back To The Future

I also think that Silver likes Star Wars

Silver has a sweet tooth, but Blaze has a more savoury taste. Blaze’s tolerance for spicy foods is also much higher than Silv’s

Espio and Blaze are also big on candles, i think

Because Silver grew up in the literal apocalypse, i think he’s very adaptable. he’ll manage with what he’s got, and he’s very resilient

Tails prefers 2D animation to 3D. Charmy prefers 3D animation. Cream chooses to not get involved in the matter

Vector was in a band in his youth, just like he is now with Espio and Charmy. He wasn’t any better back then, but he also wears hearing aides now because he busted his hearing with his music too loud. He still hasn’t learnt his lesson from that.

Just shooting off a few for you! When my mental headspace gets worse Sonic is always my comfort fandom, so here i am, and i hope you enjoyed! Let me know if you would like more or if you had any ideas, i’m especially trying to think of some for Mighty and Ray, because they’re my special little guys goddammit.

Sonic the Hedgehog: Halloween Special

I didn't really intend to be gone for so long, but I ended up working on a different passion project, and then I had some stuff happen to me that required me to be offline for a few days. But, hey, at least I got to analyze this story... about six months too late.

Yeah, I'm talking about a Halloween story... a week before Easter. X3

Welp, better late than never.

Today's story focuses on the Chaotix on Halloween, with Espio and Vector taking the child of their family, Charmy, trick-or-treating. Or rather, Espio reminding Vector that Charmy is the one trick-or-treating, not Vector, who's hoping to get some sweets for himself.

Gotta say, I really like their costumes here, with Espio being a mummy, Vector being Frankenstein's Monster and Charmy being a vampire.

They get a knock on the door, with Charmy thinking it's another case, but Vector points out how it's more likely that it's a kid who wants sweets.

Turns out, they were both right - it's a kid who wants to solve them a case of stolen candies.

The kid explains how she and her friends were walking on the edge of the forest when another kid approached them, telling them about a shortcut to houses with even better candy.

They followed the kid through the forest, only for the little sneak to slip away and leave them alone, where they get ambushed by some sort of monster.

Now, let's be real, these are kids and kids can be naive and stupid, so going into the woods at night following another kid shouldn't be at all surprising. But if there's one certain thing, it's that this so-called monster is probably fake, with the kid who led them into the forest basically running a scam. And no, I'm not saying this because I already read this story; I'm saying it because it's a pretty obvious trope if you ever watched a cartoon where kids bully other kids on Halloween night to steal their candy.

I think what's admirable here is that Charmy is the one advocating to bring back the stolen goods. I think that normally you'd expect kid characters like Charmy to throw a tantrum over not getting to go trick-or-treating and Espio and Vector having to put their foot down, but no, Charmy is not that kind of person. Hell, Vector even gives him the reins for the night.

Now, that's a true detective!

Sonic (not in costume - even though we know he owns a Vampire costume) and Tails (dressed as a cowboy) are also on the hunt for candy, taking notice of the Chaotix below.

They exchange pleasantries, with Charmy getting them up to speed about their case, with Sonic and Tails agreeing to join them.

They get into the forest, searching for the so-called monster, only to see a couple of kids running for their lives. Charmy and Tails are a bit scared, Vector, Espio and especially Sonic look more confused.

Espio and Vector come up with a plan to find the monster, but it becomes a moot point when Tails tracks it down for them, much to the former two's shock.

But, they get over it and just follow the signal.

The group still thinks it's a real monster, which fair, considering how many monsters they had to fight, ranging from robots to literal gods.

Sonic goes ahead to check the forest and it seems that he found something.

It's an empty bag stuck on a tree, with Charmy finding their next clue.

It is a trail of candy, with Charmy leading the way, being the lead detective for this case, only to hear something ahead.

They find the guy leading two more kids astray, with Charmy charging after him. Sonic and Espio follow, while Tails and Vector comfort the crying kids who almost got fooled into losing their candy.

Sonic, Espio and Charmy corner the kid, only to be met by the monster, while Vector and Tails hear Charmy screaming for help and going after their friends.

Sonic is being grappled by the so-called monster, with Charmy hearing Vector call out an attack, flying around the monster and having Vector slam into it.

Vector then unleashes a sonic screech, knocking the monster down. Charmy stops any further fight, pointing out it's just a bunch of things in a costume... and then the brat from earlier clocks Vector straight in the face! What the hell?!

I did not expect that to happen, but it's kinda funny.

The kids get surrounded, save for one who attempts his best to escape.

Tails stops him, and I really love this quote from him:

''Correction. Tonight, I am a cowboy. And I'm going yeehaw mode.''

Words to live by. He then ties the kid up, with Vector throwing Charmy a bag to catch the other kid.

To keep it short, the jig is up, but the brats refuse to tell them where their stash of stolen candy is, or at least try to split it up 30/70 (how is that even fair? I'd call 70/30 considering you little thieves got busted).

Of course, the Chaotix, Sonic and Tails want none of that, being more annoyed about the kids stealing stuff.

Charmy finds the stolen goods behind a bush, which is when the brats turn on the waterworks, saying how it's not fair. They spent a whole year making that monster and are upset that all of their stolen goods are now going back to their rightful owners.

Yeah, they are brats alright.

Sonic points out how this behavior is completely selfish and being himself, he's not caring about the candy, but about helping people.

Charmy calls Vector to help him out with a bag, only for a gem to fall out of it. At first, everything thinks it's legit, but it turns out it's made out of sugar. The brats are still protesting about losing their candy, with Charmy and Tails pointing out how their actions hurt other people, with the vampire kids realizing that he may have screwed up.

The other kids also realize that they got carried away, and while it's nice that they learned their lesson, they still should own up for what they have done, in my opinion.

Vector then calls everyone to return back to the town, since they still have candy to give out.

Back at Seaside City, we see a long line of scammed kids getting their candy back, realizing that making other people happy is better than being selfish and Tails even befriends the kid with the robot arms.

Charmy is a little bummed he didn't get to trick-or-treat, but according to Tails' calculations, not only is there enough candy for all the kids in Seaside City, but there's gonna be leftover for them, with Charmy happily stating that this is the best Halloween ever.

It's a nice story, and one thing I like is that the villains are just some random kids who wanted candy instead of someone like Eggman, Clutch or Mimic. Nothing high-stakes, although I imagine Halloween candy would mean everything to a kid, and it was really neat that they gave Charmy the spotlight.

But, I have two things to note - I wish Sonic wore his Vampire Costume rather than having no costume (especially since the Werehog isn't an option - although I think it would be really cool if we got a Halloween story with the Werehog), and secondly - I want the Chaotix's costumes as skins in Sonic Forces: Speed Battle and Sonic Dash. Otherwise, I have no complaints.

Instead, I'll see you all in Sonic the Hedgehog: Winter Jam!

Coming through, it's Dulcy the Dragon!! Dang, three drawings within a week? I'm on a roll here!

So! Here's a redesign for Dulcy. I didn't really like her reboot design in the Archie comics, but was happy she was back in the story in some capacity at least. She is one of the OG Freedom Fighters after all.

Was thinking that like Trip from Sonic Superstars, Dulcy is a Mobian with the ability to transform into a dragon. Her whole back story was that she had special powers coz she was a protector dragon too, so is fits. Unlike Trip who needs the Chaos Emeralds, Dulcy is able to transform at will, but isn't able to control her dragon form or powers very well yet. And since her dragon form uses a lot of energy she will be exhausted and often pass out once she transforms back.

I changed up her dragon design a bit, but tried to keep her mostly the same. Am not really settled on her Mobian design yet tho... There aren't a lot of reptile characters in the Sonic franchise, so I didn't really have a lot of references outside of Vector, Espio and Trip. None of them were really working for me... Couldn't really settle on what kind of reptile she was either. Kinda had a komodo dragon in mind but I dunno if that really worked... (Was also using Trip as the main ref so ended up leaning into the classic character design more too.)

The purple with the gold trim for her outfit comes from the outfit she had in the comics. Don't look at the outfit too hard, it's not very good...

I wish I could spend Father's Day in a state of joy as those around me are planning to. But unfortunately, my family's situation is a bit more stressful than that.

I'm gonna do Father's Day early! Since Dad and Abba are heading out on Father's Day, I'm gonna do something special on Saturday instead! Omega and I are gonna sing them a song I think! I think Sage would like to do that too, so I'm gonna invite her. I just wish Metal would join in..

A rather large present box suddenly appears from nothing in the Chaotix's agency. Where did this box come from? Regardless of where it came from, it appeared to have a lot of goodies inside, given the box's size.

On the tag, it's addressed to the whole Chaotix team, with this present being from Silver.

Once the present was opened, there was a bunch of gifts inside, each labeled for the respective Chaotix member. Vector got a new futuristic looking pair of headphones, Charmy got a bunch of honeycomb candy, Espio got a really puffy coat, Mighty got a new punching bag, and Ray got a new pair of futuristic looking goggles.

Along with the gifts, there was a note. The handwriting was pretty much chicken scratch, but it was still readable. It read:

"Hope you guys enjoy the gifts! I wasn't sure what to get for Mighty and Ray as I don't know them too well, so I just guessed. Merry Christmas guys!

P.S. Espio I better see you wearing that coat next time we meet. - Silver"

The detectives seem to be messing around, while vectors holding charmy up high for the little bee to put a star on the tree, as they just got done decorating as a family, espio is sifting through tv channels with a remote to find the perfect christmas movie, and settles on ‘die hard’- just so he can hear vector scream “ESA NO ES UNA PUTA PELÍCULA DE NAVIDAD!” (THATS NOT A FUCKING CHRISTMAS MOVIE), which sent the chameleon into a little laughing fit, but kept it on out of spite.

However mighty and ray take notice of the massive present, the two run over as charmy finishes placing the star utop the tree, and the two call the three over with ray being excited. Vector, lightheartedly annoyed by espios choice of movie, makes his way over as he carries charmy on his shoulder and espio by the tail, politely.

“Open it, open it, open it vect, cmon!!”

“Ray, be patient, remember what we were taught buddy.”

“But! But! Cmon!! OPEN ITTTT-“

“Alright, alright, I’ll open it no worries! Lets read tha tag first though, don’t wan be rude now do we? We gotta know who to bombard with christmas cheer later!”

Vector cackles as he looks at the tag, and grins happily.

“Future boy! I knew he wouldn’t forget bout us!”

Vector beamed, before setting charmy and espio down. His large claws outstretch and the massive crocodile tears into the wrapping paper and box to open it abit barbarically, but not injuring any of the gifts inside, chuckling as his tail wags. Ray and charmy chant and cheer as vector tears it open and they hop up and down to peer inside the big box. Vector gently takes the gofts, and hands each one out to the respective member ots made for. Taking the note, he grins and reads it outloud for the team. The kids chant out a ‘merry christmas silver!’ Even if he isnt here to hear it. But at the side note, vector glares at espio.

“Esp. Didja go out without a damn thing to wear ‘gain.”

“..maybe?”

“ESP! FA FUCKS SAKE, BUD! YER A REPTILE, YER GON FREEZE ONE OF THESE DAYS!”

“I thought it was fine! Because i was fine! I wont freeze over abit of snow you overdramatic gator.”

Blaze has a family! She's the eldest daughter and in line to inherit the throne when her parents step down, and has a pair of twins for siblings, who are a few years younger than her. Silver is quite well liked among her family (and in the Sol dimension, lol), and they have a little nickname for him: Slipper! Both in regards to how clumsy he was growing up, and also just because its really cute. This is based on the intentional incorrect spelling of his name when referring to him affectionately in the fandom. It tickles my brain, lol. Not only is he practically a member of the royal family, but one time, one of the twins asked who would get the throne if Blaze were to not be able to. Without missing a beat, their mother informed them that it would be Silver, actually.

...He doesn't realize they're dead serious, by the way. If things really were to go wrong, they want Silver to take over until the twins are old enough to take care of the empire. lol. Also, Marine! She comes way late, but she does eventually show up!

Shadow is not only a trained agent, but also a trained therapy hedgehog! I'm serious. He was taught how to manage other people's emotions and act as temporary therapist. He's also warm, fluffy, and okay with being cried on, so he's perfect for the job.

Omega is in the au! He shows up later down the line, and after the events of the au, goes to live with Rouge and Shadow in the city working for GUN too.

Sonic has a horrible history with water activities and accidentally getting stuck in the mangroves and brambles lining the shore. Its really funny how horrible his luck is.

Shadow was based loosely on a hedgehog to appeal to Maria, since he was planned to be part time therapy-hog from the start. Mephiles was loosely based on Shadow. This makes Mephiles EXTREMELY far removed from a real hedgie to some degree. Its kind of hilarious.

Amy has a never ending stash of jelly bracelets, Shadow has a never ending stash of coffee beans, and Tails never seems to be in short supply of goggles. Where does he get them?

Tails and Sonic have their own rooms on the camp, but stay in the dorms with the rest of the campers during the summer!

Tikal is a really sweet ghost who haunts the ruins nearby. She's plot relevant, trust me ;)

The Storybook games are planned to be fever dreams from our dear Sonic while fending off a cold. But they could have a little more validity behind them than it may appear...

Rouge plays saxophone! In fact, there are several musically talented members of the camp, both campers and staff!

Uncle Chuck eventually gives up on paperwork and makes his campers swear that whatever happens in camp stays in camp. He decides this after the SA2 plot equivelent. Especially now with 2 whole government agents there, one working as a counselor and the other a camper.

The Chaotix are a fun bunch! Vector works whatever misc job he can get around the camp so Charmy and Espio can go for free. They're an inner city family, and don't have much money. He also has a crush on the camps' nurse, Vanilla. Espio wants to be a detective, and has a special interest in detective work. Charmy came into the equation more recently, as Vector took custody of the kid after a family friend begged him to.

Also, that old couple were originally going to be Madge and Arthur, the couple who Super Sonic stayed with for a while. But it was artist Richard Elson who realised that since this story took place in the Special Zone, not on Mobius, it couldn’t be them, so he altered them into two different characters instead

The dinosaur he’s riding is Society Max. We’re going to be learning more about him very soon! The Chaotix are here, too, albeit a bit late to stop the damage

The revelation of a game character having a comic-exclusive parent is something that could only happen in the Special Zone in StC, where all the wildest things happen. And Sonic is done even with that

I love how Mighty handles this. It’s clearly not his first time stopping his dad from beating up a stranger on a case of mistaken identity

Mighty, that one’s kind of on you for getting him a mirror and leaving it there knowing that he does this

Anyway, this is Society Max, Mighty’s dad’s “business partner”. But also his boyfriend. I know I say that all the time, but this time it’s not just me saying stuff - Kitching mentioned in his old Yahoo group that, while it wasn’t alluded to in the comic, Bill & Max were homosexual partners, so there you go. The Chaotix are just an inherently queer group with gay dads everywhere

We’ll be seeing a bit more of these two in future, but for now, the main takeaway is that Bill has a special root that turns Max into a raging monster when he eats it and Max seems quite okay to go along with that, though he doesn't enjoy the taste of the root

But we still don’t know why Sonic is actually here and Vector realises it’d be too good of a cliffhanger to tell him right away, so I guess we’ll find out next time

(cn: Lately, I've been feeling that trying to write everything is a bit too tedious and time consuming [we have over 20 sagas to get through...], so I wanted to try something different and creative for story beats that are either minor or not too deeply planned. Vector, Espio, and Charmy invade the Blue Typhoon in a stealth mission to check up on Cream and ensure the young rabbit's wellbeing...in secret of course!

Meanwhile, back on Earth, Eve (now 13 years old) heads to her brother's lab to meet up with the young scientist after a typical day of school. Nothing is out of the ordinary, that is, except for her missing brother. The blonde teen searches around before deciding to hang out and wait for him. Hours pass though and she starts to grow worried. Just as she's about to leave, however, she feels a strange presence in the lab and calls out for some kind of response. As if on cue, a lever clicks to her side and turns on a machine Chris had been keeping hidden from her as a surprise. Eve quickly realizes it's a portal...

The same portal Sonic used to return to his world long ago...

Touched by her brother's kind gesture, she can't bring herself to look away. She walks up to it, reaching out as if to go through, but she stops herself. No. It isn't right. She doesn't belong with them. She was...only human after all...

She wasn't special like them...

Eve slowly backs away from the machine, dejected, but it suddenly begins to malfunction, shooting out erratic rays of energy and light. She races to try and fix it before it's too late, but the control panel glitches out and she's sucked in.

In a flash of brilliant, blue light, Eve appears behind the Chaotix, frazzled and panicked over what just occurred. Though the trio of detectives had wanted to remain unseen, they immediately take the girl to the rest of the crew so she can see her friends once again and get settled in, even if it meant getting caught in their antics by the young, chastizing rabbit and her chao friend.

And thus, the girl with the golden hair joined her friends in the fight against the Metarex.

I FUCKED UP!! 😭 I was gonna answer a question in the inbox someone send me about the post I did about the fanfic idea for the chaotix and I accidentally deleted the post AND NOW I LOST THE QUESTION THE PERSON SEND ME, NOOOOOO— I'M SO SORRY UNKNOWN PERSON 😭😭

I genuinely so upset. I was so excited to respond back fucking dammit!.. *sobs*🥀💔 Thankful I read like two times and still have knowledge about what they ask, so I think I can still answered back but without the inbox. Again I apologize, was a minor accident. If the unknown person read this, my response is right here ↓

So first they kindly say they like my fanfic idea, which by saying that I wanna say; I'm glad you like it!!

Then they proceed to say that although Vector is an adult he still portrait chaotic personality that wouldn't been seen as capable but besides all that he still a good man. Which I say–Yes!

That's what I love about Vector, he's a great character with a goofy side of him but he has a great heart. Vector is such a father figure, not only for Espio and Charmy but for the rest of the cast. Though not fatherly figure, but still a parental figured nonetheless. I was reading the IDW comics and I stumble the scene were Belle was kidnap by Dr. Starting and the Chaotix rescue her and Vector was there to comfort Belle. I just found it super sweet how Vector will see a broken kid and his dad mode kicks in and comforts them like his own. Some of the things I absolutely love about Vector and grew up to adore more.

And lastly from my memory I think they conclude with saying that Espio and Charmy wouldn't like been taking away from Vector, because they're Ohana. And I absolutely agreed with you, they're the true meaning of Ohana. Charmy would be devastated, since he's just a kid. He just wanna be around Vector, and would be confused on why the taking him away from him.

For the other hand Espio, would try to stay calm for Charmy, but he also scared too. Vector is his only place home, since he was ban from his clan (HC). He spend his loyalty to Vector and don't want to be separated from his home again. I feel Espio didn't see Vector as anything more than older figure or the boss but as they spend more together he got attached to the crocodile, he wouldn't think of living without his dad.

I am a sucker for found family tropes, so I have so much fun exploring what makes their bond special.

Well, a green Knuckles (or Chaos Knuckles, some may call him, when we're not being facetious) is what you get when you 'microwave a baby' - you've heard of this joke, yes? THAT whole joke is based on Knuckles' father subjecting Knuckles' egg to the chaos siphon - which culminates here.

Knuckles transforms into this form after having a building cave in on him, Antoine's father, and Yanar. I won't dwell on it for too long, (The years of Green Knuckles deserves a post in of itself, really) - I mostly just wanted to let it be known that the 'Green Knuckles' stuff happens before his death and foray into the afterlife.
