Just want to say, love your mimick au. I only found it like, an hour ago and I've devoured everything in the tag and I'm planning to do the same to the spellbound and monster hunter aus.
That said, in one of the mimick fanfics, Orion tells Prowl to leave him alone and to find a hobby, but a comic that (presumably) happens after this conversation when Orion meets Jazz, Orion seems to be back to working with Prowl. I thought the whole "leave me alone" order would go on infinitely because Orion didn't seem to have his goal locked down and he also never specified when to come back. So how did they return to working together? Did Orion find Prowl post-meltdown, or was it Prowl who just set an arbitrary amount of time before going back to Orion and going "so, how do you feel about defying god?" I just find Orion and Prowl's relationship so interesting in this au, simply because of how Orion doesn't seem to apply his morals about freedom and coexistence to Prowl despite the fact he's the one who points out that Prowl didn't include himself in his calculations, but at the same time, if he doesn't recognize Prowl's autonomy and only sees him as a tool (chatGPT style), he would have to accept that he's the one responsible for Prowl's actions because he's the one using him. But also also, Prowl encourages him to not take responsibility for all the immoral actions (like killing monsters to keep the Council's favor), which I think Orion does take up, but that would indirectly be accepting Prowl as a individual capable of making his own decisions, you know? It also the fact that Orion and Prowl both have different (and somewhat incompatible) ways of communicating. I was thinking when Orion asked Prowl to what he'd do to make the most amount of mechs happy, Prowl understood it literally: the majority of the population are non-monsters, so statistically, he'd focus on making non-monsters happy. But Orion doesn't want to make most mechs happy; he wants a diverse and equitable society, and that doesn't necessarily lead to happiness, especially in transition phases. Even in the academy, monsters are learning to compromise to live in a non-monster society; compromises are about restriction, which often aren't a source of happiness. But Orion equates that vision to happiness, and probably gets a bad impression of Prowl given "free reign" from his answer. It's great, it's so juicy.
And contrasts so well with how Prowl and Jazz interact and communicate with each other. Like how Prowl makes an attempt to learn hand language for Jazz in the same way he attempts to comfort Orion post-Shockwave demonification. But unlike Orion who has "Prowl is not alive" at the core of their dynamic, Jazz doesn't know and sees Prowl's attempt to learn as a genuine attempt to understand/communicate. You can argue that Prowl is just "programmed" to try and get more information and it's just efficient to ensure Jazz doesn't get carpal tunnel while working together, but you can also argue that we're all programmed to do that as well; small talk or bids for attention are behaviors/actions to build connection through information exchange that we are trained to do from formative years and general society. Which is to say, even if Prowl learns and tries to accommodate Jazz for mission purposes, it doesn't negate the fact that he is investing effort into communicating and building the foundation for a meaningful connection in the same way other people do. It's great, I'm having a blast with the whole AU.
Orion despite being afraid to continue his mission still has responsibilities in his Order so him and Prowl. Yeah hahah they just keep working together but purely on their usual legal tasks. I didn’t talk about the whole situation enough yet but basically Prowl never informed Orion about his new quest of suing God. Primarily because he knows that Orion definitely will try to stop him.
It’s kind of like. “What isn’t forbidden can automatically be considered allowed” mentality.
Also MY GOD YES. My favourite part of this au is reading asks like yours:0 Prowl exists in that thin line between being and not being a person capable of his own choices. Orion exists on the thin line between considering him being one of those options. He can’t see Prowl as a “real mech” because he knows for a fact it’s not true. But then seeing him as a tool means accepting that all questionable things he does are Orion’s responsibility.
At the end of the day Prowl is a metaphorical piece of fabric Orion uses to clean his consciousness. In his eyes Prowl isn’t alive enough to be fully blamed for all the bad things he does but he is also alive just enough for Orion to say “it was your fault. Not mine.”
Jazz doesn’t have that dilemma. Uh. Yet haha he will discover the truth eventually of course~. He thinks Prowl is obviously a real mech because in his world magic isn’t alive. It can create an illusion of a mech, sure, this is what all usual golems are, but it’s not smart or believable enough. It’s like one of those tests where all people think they can tell if they’re talking to an AI chat bot because “duh I would obviously know” and then fail to distinguish AI from a real person. Jazz is perceptive but he doesn’t know what to look for. All he knows is that Prowl is somehow doesn’t love anyone but seems to care about of things that aren’t people.
Also it’s a bit unrelated but I find it soooo interesting playing with the usual concepts of magic and technology. Because usually magic is perceived as something more “coming from your heart” and “connected with emotions” while technology tends to be more “soulless” and “emotionless”. And then we have the entire world of robots who think they are alive and magic isn’t :)

Trying to piece together what exactly William did in SOTM which furthered the collapse of the MCM, and how many others were involved.
courtesy spoiler warning.
I made a whole post about how it irks me that people assume right off the bat that William stole everything off Edwin's blueprints and nothing the man created was original.
Firstly, in canon, it has long since been upheld that Henry and William designed Fredbear and Spring Bonnie, and later still the main animatronics (Freddy and Bonnie, example, based of the original two). Second, at the very opening of the game, it's also stated that Edwin signed a contract when he took on projects for Fazbear Ent that anything he made for them was the company's legal property - though most people will reasonably take said statement with a grain of salt, because it is Fazbear making it.
At no point in the game is it implied or stated that Edwin created the original raw blueprints for the endoskeletons, the springlocks, or even the animatronics (Fredbear, Spring Bonnie, Bonnie, etc). That's an assumption most people make seeing the springlock suits, and later the fazbear animatronics in the lower levels of the facility.
However, from the very beginning of the game, it is stated emphatically that everything in the Costume Manor was up to be leased or sold. Additionally, we know that Fazbear Ent had long since been outright buying characters from MCM, requesting manufacturing of both endos and costumes, as prototypes of the characters are found in the lower level.
For one, Chica, whose costume was designed by Fiona while she was still alive and well prior to Edwin's descent into his work as coping mechanism, was a commissioned character and sold to an unspecified buyer and was fairly popular - i.e. the right to her character belongs with whoever had her design comissioned (my best guess being that was still Fazbear Ent. They may have established Chica's Party World beings it's own location until it was subsumed under Freddy's later larger popularity - Foxy, also, was likely a character purchased by Fazbear Ent. We see puppets of him, plus Roxy, as part of a larger cast in the theater showroom.).
The MCM, and Edwin Murray by extension, was an animatronic and mascot manufacturer.
I have no doubt that Edwin likely did have the blueprints for the endos and springlocks, improved on said blueprints and made offers of alteration to Henry and William, and in fact made blueprints for his own original designs (ex: Mimic is his original creation, even if the endoskeleton is not), but at no point does it claim he created them, created them on his own - or that Fazbear Ent stole the concept.
My personal theory is that Henry and William still created the original characters (At the very least, the bear and bunny) and the engineering that went into them (Springlocks, endos), and then worked with Edwin to smooth out all the features and for a second opinion (Edwin very well could have improved upon the endoskeleton and springlock designs - case in point, Mimic), and he manufactured robots for them after (cheaper than producing them themselves).
It cheapens all three of their characters -> Edwin, William, and Henry's -> to assume that all feats of engineering were stolen from Edwin alone, or that Edwin alone created everything in the franchise (and also would be a major retcon from the rest of the series).
However, it is matter-of-fact that William bribed and cooerced workers to defect from the MCM by offering high-up managerial positions at new Fazbear locations in exchange for them collecting Edwin's blueprints and so on.
I have no arguments with the fact that he definitely exploited Edwin later on.
That raises the question of what William had the defecting employees actually stealing if Fazbear's already owned rights to several characters, were purchasing more, and even later bought the land the MCM was built on. My best guess is Mimic designs, as one of the data logs in his office is him wondering who leaked M2's existence, or unfinished/updated blueprints he hadn't sent over yet, and other potential characters that hadn't already been bought up.
(Note: I see it repeatedly mentioned that William stole Edwin's house after he died, so I have this to say in response. William did not buy the Murray Mansion outright, and it's unlikely he moved in or built his house on top of it. He explicitly states in an email that it still belongs to Edwin, even following William's purchase of the land it/the factory is on, and he even offers the position of Lead Engineer to the Edwin as part of Fazbears. Which is still so damn underhanded, considering that William had a hand in the MCM downfall as much as Edwin himself did.
Additionally, we have seen William's Afton's house in the past - the cutscenes in Fnaf 4 and SL. They had a fair amount of neighbors nearby, which would not make sense if William rebuilt his home atop the hill where Murray mansion stood alone, and the Afton househould as we saw in game was far smaller than the Murray Mansion was).
Also, William is not the sole face of Fazbear Entertainment. There are presumably multiple other people, including Henry, who Edwin mentions at least once - whether he was a worker at the MCM who defected or was a mutual friend of Will and Edwin - who would found the company. Additionally, William isn't the only man running the company - again, Henry and various unknown other persons would go into that.
While there's no doubt William was an advocate for gaining the MCM's work by any means necessary, as he was the one sending emails to the workers and Edwin himself, other people would have been involved.

tbh I think a good way to view tales from the pizzaplex is that it's in addition to and not instead of
#meaning that the book story is additional to the game story so it has a chance to actually be fleshed out and detailed#when they couldnt get to the same level of detail even if they tried in the games#like they couldnt have made a game showing mimic living with edwin and david and their interactions and stuff#and the tagline 'if you've read the books you dont know the full story'#in addition to not instead of#and i think a great way to show that this isnt a bad thing is ggy#ggy the book enhances ggy as a storyline soo much its crazy#it makes it feel so much more rich and makes ggy feel genuinely threatening and interesting#and fleshes him out more making him actively very different from vanny visibly in his story and plot and role in everything#and yet theres still so much left to cover with him that they have plenty to do in the games#idk i think months/years ago it was a different ballpark but now that rheres more info#+ they're actively showing drive to explain and reveal things in the games and make them more rich at the same fime#so things arent locked behind paywalls and hours of read time#its not nearly as bad and condemning as it felt before#i think theres still the thing of 'plotline revealed in book that only a small percentage of fandom knows about#so the new content and interesting concept is barely explored in the book itself but also in the fanbase bc the recieval is so small#and underwhelming#and these plotlines will take years to be explored in the games#but you already know about them so it isnt as connected with the rest of the fanbase as you'd like'#i think thats definitely a thing but it depends#that's why i felt tired abt escape the pizzaplex bc it was like great nothing was progressed and now theres another setup#that we have to wait for again to be talked about in the games#when theres already stuff piled up#pandas.txt#thoughts#discourse

"Now where could my pipe be?" "SCRUFF!!"
I want to mess around more and redraw/study/etc various things to fit my whimsy. So this was a background redraw from the Sonic AntiSmoking Video as well as a reference to the Garfield Pipe Comic. Jokes aside it was weird to use full yellow for a sky... wild.

Back to Glammike theory! There is one detail that I stick to and that many may miss. In this theory, Michael DOES NOT HAVE complete control over Glamrock Freddy. Possession by a ghost does not always mean complete control over the body. I think this also works with the animatronics from the first part. This would explain the dissonance between “the animatronics see us as a naked endoskeleton” and “the vengeful souls in the animatronics want to kill us.” The souls of children do not always control animatronics. At 1-2 nights they are just animatronics, on the other nights they are the vengeful souls of children who saw us (Michael) as a killer and are now ready to take revenge for everything.
I just want to say that in the game itself it is Glamrock Freddy and Michael can sometimes take control of him, which can from time to time be seen in Freddy’s phrases. Even Wikipedia says that Glamrock Freddy is possessed by an “unknown soul.” And yes, I think some have already guessed that according to my theory, in the cutscene with the appearance of Burntrap, the phrase “I am not me” belonged to Michael.
Now it's time for my own fun facts.
1.As many say: “like father like son.” Well, it's true. After all, “always come back” now not only William but also his own son Michael himself, having returned in a completely new guise. All this makes the situation even more ironic from the third part. After all, it was there that their “family squabbles” began. Therefore, according to theory, in Fnaf SB the battle with Burntrap can be called “Michael vs. William - Return.”
2. I keep thinking that when Glamrock Freddy said "I am so sorry" where Gregory received a magnet with Mr. Hippo as a gift, Michael was in control at that moment. Mr. Hippo was simply his least favorite animatronic lmao-

Unreleased Setting Friday
ages ago i posted One picture of Limes, my alien character, on main without context. Limes comes from a sci-fi setting I was messing with for a while in early 2023/late 2022
Tumblr media
They are photosynthetic "mimic" aliens who change shape from a base body plan over only a few generations to match the organisms around them - it was originally based off of that plant that "sees" its immediate neighbours and grows similar leaves to blend in :) limes was born in the Amazon to a small established group of its species that had mostly mimicked new world monkeys and margays
Tumblr media
the panels on its back are photosynthetic. the body lacks bones and is operated by a hydrostatic system, with the tail in particular being straight and rodlike by default until warped by hydraulics into a prehensile structure.
Tumblr media
These are really old designs now and the top image is actually the most recent hehe
Anyway there's a whole near-future story about the earth-born aliens and humans cooperating to fend off attacks from another faction of the same alien species who are raiding human technology for their power sources and essentially, basically, the entire setup is JUST to justify the presence of living aeroplanes :) as livestock guardian animals who accompany regular air freight and defend them from attacks. The story is about Limes, an engineer of the biomechs, working with a human biologist/behaviourist whose job is to train the livestock guardians to guard the freight.

I know the code shows Gregory talking during the elevator crash but I think it’s important that Cassie outright states she can’t fully trust that the Gregory she’s talking to during the chase is the real Gregory. We also know code in fnaf games has been used to spell out secrete messages, guide or even misdirect us as fans. However, more importantly it has been used as a form of story integration.
Whose to say that the reason the code no longer showed as Grimic but Gregory was to reflect Cassie not knowing who she was actually talking to despite her dependence?
The double text is telling and seeing as a glitch like it has not happened in the dlc before hand unless it was to intentionally show two different entities talking, we could be like Cassie and on the receiving end of not knowing if the real Gregory was the one who dropped the elevator. But the visual clue was our hint to not take that scene as so black and white.
