An idle mind is a terrible thing when you're worried

And Shuna's mind was idle. She found herself pouring over the little she had heard about Mukuro's captor's.

That they had been uncreatively dubbed "The Blood Sisters" by the few who had escaped them. The name came from a tendency to send messages written in blood and desecrate earth by causing blood to pour from the soil.

That few had heard their names as they tended to call each other little but "sweet sister."

That they were rumored to be romantically involved with each other.

That their powers of mind manipulation were unbelievably strong.

That they had captured Mukuro and were probably-

No, no she wouldn't allow her thoughts to wander that far. Taking a deep, steadying breath, she beckoned them back like a child who had gotten ahead of their mother. She would not dwell on the intolerable cruelty of someone who had escaped slavery and been a king for centuries only to have her will taken again. No, she wouldn't think about that for even one moment. She would sit and breathe and not think about it. See, she wasn't thinking about it at all.

She couldn't be thinking about it because if she did she would fall apart and there was no time for falling apart until Mukuro was safe again.

And Mukuro would be safe again. The alternative was unacceptable.
