#poorly drawn mdzs #mdzs #wei wuxian #granny wen #a-yuan #It's always fascinating how colours translate from the page to the screen.#It would probably surprise a lot of people to see what some of these comics actually look like in physical form.#My lighter colours takes about 3-4 washes before it shows up on scan which means it tends to ripple the page.#And my yellows and oranges are drastically different colours when scanned compared to the ink colour.#There's about 20 or so comics where everyone's hair is purple - because it scanned in the exact same colour as my light grey.#Wait my book is right here in front of me so I can...yeah...Comics 57-77 were indeed purple.#This is all to say - is it not fascinating how what we see is often not the full truth of what the subject truly is?#Is it not fascinating to open another episode that reminds us that despite everyone's claims they could totally spot the evil YLLZ-#-The man walks around among them for months as no more than a man haggling for deals like the rest.#It's almost as if he's just a person. It's almost as if none of us - no matter what we do are really anything more than just a person.#Your good acts will be overtaken by how other's interpret you in negative light.#Just as easily are people willing to forgive crueler actions if they hold you in high esteem.#But what's real? Is the page I hold the real version of this comic? Is it the one you look at?#Is the man known as Wuxian the most himself when he is alone or on the battlefield?#Perhaps he is and has always been a scared orphan boy lost in the market.#I think there is no good answer to any of these questions.#But I do know that panic rising in WWX as he frantically looks for A-yuan was for more than one boy.#To be human is to have layers around a delicate center. We only really grow around our wounds from childhood.#In other words; Donkey from Shrek would also probably call Wei Wuxian an onion. I'll see myself out now.

Finger of God

(Title is a reference to a movie. Can anyone guess?)

Danny had been feeling on edge all day. The air felt different, almost like it was charged. The wind was decently strong, making your eyes water if you faced one direction too long. The sky was filled with light grey clouds, though there wasn’t any rain forecasted by Lance Thunder.

It was during Lunch hour that it happened. Danny had begged Sam and Tucker to stick near him that morning because he couldn’t help but feel like something was going to happen. Danny hadn’t paid much attention to the growing background roar, trying to focus on finding what ghostly threat was raising his hackles. He only snapped to outward attention upon hearing the building whine of the sirens, barely allowing him to grab his friends by the waist and make them intangible.

Then it was just darkness and screaming wind as the school building was destroyed around them. It felt like hours but what was only five minutes later the trio stood shellshocked, huddled together in the ruins. Danny flew them up out of the remains to see that Amity Park… was gone. And to their southwest was the biggest tornado they had ever seen.

Danny had always thought it would be a ghost who destroyed the city but he wasn’t prepared for pure natural weather. Only their two years of heroism gave them the ability to shove their shock to the side and try to find survivors. It was Tucker who finally suggested the Justice League. “We… don’t have the resources to save anyone even if there is any survivors. The hospital is gone.”

Sam stood there blanked faced, but nodded. Danny grimaced but agreed. “Tell them only about the tornado. Whatever was preventing us from reaching them before should be gone now but it may be magic of some sort that reacts to intentions and talking about ghosts may be blocked.”

Tucker nodded. At least they all had ecto-modded phones. It meant they didn’t have service problems.

It's sometimes hard to remember that they're your OCs and not a project for a dramatic film or book! All the trivia and world building is so wonderful to read! I hope it's nice to have so much attention on Machete and Vasco, they're lovely and deserve it. :)

I wanted to ask, are there any other OCs you're particularly attached to from your roster that you'd perhaps like for the world to see? Maybe there's someone that you wish had gotten just as much attention?

Aa thank you, that's so sweet of you to say! It means a lot to me to hear that people find my dogs compelling ;_;

I have a lot of OCs, but I've been pretty laser focused on Machete, Vasco and their setting for a couple of years now. I feel like that's the creative pursuit that is bringing me the most joy and fueling my inspiration right now. But I don't want to view my other characters as abandoned either, I'll go back to working on them once the right mood strikes.

In 2006, the Tamil-language film Paramasivan was released, about a criminal sentenced to death but employed as an assassin instead.

It is, of course, a localized remake of Kartoos, the 1999 Hindi-language film, in which a criminal is trained to assassinate by government agents who have him on tight leash, having already sentenced him to death.

Kartoos (meaning "cartridge", as in firearms) is directly based on Point of No Return, a 1993 American film about an assassin who is trained instead of having her death sentence carried out.

This film was released internationally as Assassin, or (in France), as Nom de Code: Nina (Codename: Nina). Anyway this film is a remake of Nikita.

Nikita is the 1990 French film by Luc Besson, about a criminal, sentenced to death, works as an assasin, yeah. That story. It was released outside of France as La Femme Nikita. This is the original, Nikita.

Which of course should not be confused with the 1997 Canadian TV adaptation: Nikita!

Nikita (also known as La Femme Nikita outside of Canada) is (well, this one is) about a innocent woman sentenced to the death penalty, but forced to become an assassin instead.

The same name, identically, was used for the 2010 American TV Adaptation Nikita.

In this one, it's about a woman who has already been through a whole-ass Nikita situation (which I trust you should understand by now what one of those is) and is now trying to get revenge on the secret organization that put her through a Nikita-Situation.

But the first remake was the 1991 Hong Kong action film 黑猫, or Black Cat.

黑猫 (Black Cat) is about a woman who is sentenced to a Nikita-ass situation. This time she's on the leash of the CIA. And then there's a sequel, 1992's 黑貓II：刺殺葉利欽, or Black Cat 2: The Assassination of President Yeltsin! *

黑貓II：刺殺葉利欽, or Black Cat 2: The Assassination of President Yeltsin is about ... exactly what you'd expect, really. She's still in a Nikita-ass situation and now they want her to kill the then-president of Russia, Boris Yeltsin.

Is that enough? No! No of course not. Because there's also 2017's Korean adaptation, 악녀 (The Villainess)!

악녀 (The Villainess) is a loose adaptation where she's already an assassin before she gets her death faked.

I'm not even going to go into the canceled PS2 game.

But yeah. There's a surprising number of these Nikitas.
