While researching Doffy's Looks, I noticed something sad about the DQ Brothers and I have to make everyone elses a bit sad with me ~ 😌

And someone else has probably pointed that out already

About the color reverse with Doffy and Rosi, it only happened after Doffy shot his Brother ! (Actually it happened when Doffy ruled Dressrosa, but let me have this!!! )

Before The Incident™ we see Doffy in two magnificent fits.

This one: white trousers, black shirt, bit of red and dark pink on his pants. Similar colors to Rosi over all, but not a color reverse. Not sure about the timeline right now, but the colors might symbolize Doffy being happy his little brother is back and therefore making them wear similar colours to show it (let me have this 😩plz)

And then there is our beloved Red Suit Doffy. No White in sight, just Black and lots of Red (= blood = Family and death). He feels betrayed by the only Family he has left and there is only one solution for him! 😩 Bang bang.

And only after Doffy realized what he has lost, he subconciously choose to wear his brothers colors! ( I know it was Odas choice to show the parallels with the Brothers in the Dressrosa Arc, BUT let me-)

Anyway ✨✌🏻 i just wanted to point this out !

I love this. First of all, these two pics made me swoon North Blue Doffy is so handsome 😍

We will ignore that Oda designed Doffy first and only later decided to make Rosinante (in Oda's first ever sketches of Doffy, Doffy was a single child! But man am I glad he changed his mind) and used Dressrosa Doffy's clothes colours but switched them for the base of Doffy's brother because clothes are another writing/artist tool- as a writer, what better way to speak to the audience than through clothes? You get to say soo many things with clothes, especially in manga. Clothes are such a simple tool and yet a great tool to show the connection between characters while also giving them their own style!

However, let's ignore that entire "Oda created Doffy first" which and focus on how the characters feel and what made the characters pick their clothes.

And you're right. Now, why Dressrosa Doffy reverse clothes colours scheme for Cora? Easy. Audience. By now, it's been (counting from ep 608 when post-timeskip Doffy aka Dressrosa Doffy is revealed) 100 episodes that the audience has seen Doflamingo dressed in those clothes, white shirt, pink coat. The moment we see Cora, our minds need to go "that's Corazon, that's Doflamingo's younger brother" at FIRST SIGHT of Corazon.

So, Oda does the colours the same but on different clothing aka if Doffy has a white shirt, Cora will have white pants. If Doffy has a pink coat, Cora can't have a pink coat but his upper body needs to wear sth pink. Pink shirt with pink hearts. Genius. Oh, and the biggest "THIS IS DOFLAMINGO'S LITTLE BROTHER" sign? Feather coat like Doflamingo's just a black colour. Oda coloured Cora's coat black but I love the purple of the anime too cus it's literally on the colour spectrum right next to pink. I think Oda made it black but myb it was originally purple but the amount of times Cora lit it on fire just made the poor thing turn black. Though, there is the entire thing with flamingos. They have black feathers underneath their main pink feathers - it's the black feathers that help them to fly.

North Blue Doffy

I think the moment Doffy hit 21 (that's the legal drinking age in Japan) he switches to suits/more formal wear. And yes, you're right about Dressrosa Doffy being the reverse clothes switch of Cora aka after his brother's death. Doffy liked red a lot to go with his wardrobe.

This is how he dressed at 17 (I love it, it makes no sense and I love it) at Roger's execution. Maybe it was hot that day, but it did start to rain later but it was probably summer rain anyway. But I can totally see this being 17 year old Doffy's everyday fit.

So, sometime later when he reached 20 and he became the young pirate underworld businessman as Law (and we, the audience) meet him later as in North Blue, he switched to formal wear. Doffy likes luxury. He's a Celestial Dragon. Also, I like to think the climate of North Blue doesn't agree with him, so he goes for long sleeved shirts such as dress shirts and the full red suit. Of course he goes for suits. They can also make him appear less dangerous than he is while giving him an edge over other pirates who dress... Well, like pirates 🤣

So, when Cora came back (Doffy was 24, Cora 22) of course Doffy will try to colour match somehow. Ties are a no go. First, he needs EVERYONE to know that this clumsy pyromaniac is his wonderful cute little brother! And how does he do that?

COAT.

Doflamingo already probably has quite a bounty on his head even in his North Blue days (probably a 100,000 berries or a bit more, I think it skyrocketed to its 320 mil. when he attacked the Heavenly Tributes). His coat is probably INFAMOUS. It's what other pirates recognise him by. You see a big pink feather coat? Oh, that's Donquixote Doflamingo.

And so Doflamingo wanted everyone to connect Cora's black/purple(in anime)coat to "this is Doflamingo's younger brother, Corazon"

It's not known whether the pirate world is aware that Corazon is Doflamingo's younger brother,but I'd wager the answer is a big NO. They think as Doflamingo's right-hand man, it comes with the perk of wearing a feather coat 🤣

In short, I am a 100% sure Doffy picked Corazon's outfit.

Red Suit Doffy being = blood, family, death you get it Coco, you get it. 🥹🫶🏻

I love being delulu thinking Dressrosa Doffy subconsciously chose to wear his brother's colour scheme but reverse and with his own twists cus wtf are those pants colour, Doffy what fckn colour is that, Doffy. I fckn love it but what fckn colour - oh even that is just a lighter shade of Cora's beanie, just shoot me.

I mean, I know it's probably not true that he like subconsciously chose them cus of Cora, but I totally get you, Coco. Even if Doffy most likely chose them cus he likes them+white dress shirts are always worn by royals (thinks Sanji's outfit in Whole Cake) I support being delulu☝🏻🫡

But maaan, all this clothes talk is just making me wonder if Merlot & Primroses Doffy would be so terrible (at least it's in Reader's POV how Reader would understand it) to give Reader Cora's extra black feather coat fitted for her. Or myb the opposite, sth that he tries to erase Cora's presence with...

Where are those American flamingos...

A feather coat like this colour? It's such a close shade to pink but is its own shade. Like, the people will be thinking "there is a connection to Doflamingo" and that already is bad enough the moment they think that

Plus, the Chilean flamingos have their tail feathers in a darker pink colour too!

And some flamingos have black tail feathers, too (prob why Oda drew Cora's coat black (or bcs of the underneath black feathers as I said), now that I think about it).

And you may or may not have made me think about how to make Merlot & Primroses even more angsty, though I for some reason don't want to give Reader any feather coat. Those things can be HEAVY.

The Grav Jump Tango Chapter 11: Secrets in Neon Pairing: Sam Coe x Spacefarer

Cass looked almost pleasantly surprised when Sam and Cora met her in the foyer with their bags in the morning. It wasn’t until he caught the look on her face and saw Andreja with her after all that he realized he had never technically given her an answer the night before. Still, despite Andreja’s reluctance to stay out of the action, she agreed to keep Cora safe on the ship while Sam went into the city with Cass and Walter instead.

Even though Cass had drunk more than Sam, with her head start before he turned up, she didn’t show it. In fact, she looked downright… well, she looked different, he hedged as he tried to curb his own thoughts again. Usually she favored sturdy boots and long sleeves, he supposed, and she did still have on a pair of boots that looked more than capable of kicking in teeth, but everything else was unusual.

She was clearly dressed for Neon, in skintight black pants and fingerless gloves that would blend in anywhere in the city. Her electric blue halter top, on the other hand, might as well have been flashing with the words Look at me! with the amount of skin it showed off, which probably meant Walter’s plan involved the Astral Lounge. Somehow Sam didn’t find himself in possession of his usual dread for that particular idea, maybe too interested in investigating a tattoo he’d never seen before. She had a half sleeve on her left arm that at first glance looked like an abstract maze of circuitry, but upon closer inspection seemed to actually sketch out images—he spotted what looked like a mountain, a tree, and some kind of wildflower as he followed it up to where it ended near her collarbone.

Cass must have caught him looking, because she grinned in his direction. “Don’t get used to it; my hair tangles like crazy this way,” she said, and only then did he notice that in place of her usual braid, she’d pulled her hair back into a high ponytail that appeared to be tied in place with a small braid originating just above her left ear. The change suited the rest of her outfit, the barely contained waves spilling down her back somehow making her look a little less restrained and despite the smile, a lot more dangerous to anyone who knew her previous line of work. He decided instantly that he would let her go right on thinking that he was only staring at her hair.

“Yes, well, it’s fine for reconnaissance,” Walter interrupted, frowning at Cass over his crossed arms and paying the others no attention at all. “But I hope you have a change of clothes to meet the client.”

Cass’s lips twisted in displeasure, but she nodded. “Yes, yes, I know what you want me to wear,” she grumbled. “I have it when it’s time, but you owe me for this one.”

Walter actually laughed. “Do tell Issa that when we see her! I may be the grumpy old man, but she’s the one who holds a grudge. I’m sure she will thoroughly enjoy the idea that I owe you.”

“Of course she will.” Cass sighed heavily, but she didn’t seem to want to elaborate.

“Well, I think you look really pretty,” Cora chimed in. And then, because she was either completely oblivious or far too perceptive for her own good, prodded, “Doesn’t she, Dad?”

Sam glanced at Cora and almost choked. He knew his little girl well, and that smile she was wearing was just a little too innocent.

“Yeah, of course,” he managed to say, trying and failing for nonchalance. “Very pretty.” Cass seemed surprised when he met her eyes. Then a slow smile started on her lips, like maybe she could tell that pretty wasn’t exactly the first descriptor that had popped into his head.

Andreja snorted in a way that could have been disgust or amusement and then suggested they get going before they missed their departure time. Sam wasn’t quite sure if he was more grateful for the distraction or disappointed that Cass hadn’t managed a reply first.

LoZ AU- The Courage of Running Away LABRYNNA EXPANDED (long post alert)

Let's start with a link to the original masterpost since this is plunked in the midst of Part Five of the OG plotting posts.

Labrynna was practically a footnote in the original CoRA plotting posts, it and Holodrum basically getting covered in one post.

But as I've noted since, it turned into its own storyline, and I got wrapped up in Politics, and fantasy politics are my fucking catnip so I have at this point gotten through two whole ass NaNos with it oh god.

Image descriptions will be in ALT this time around so theoretically the seventeen to twenty pictures in this post won't be quite so bad???

So where things pick up, Link has just left Windfish Isle on Uncle Torik's ferry with Marla and Tonbo and they're headed to Labrynna.

...I was going to post the map of Western Aurule here but that. I'm gonna put that in its own post. Here's a link to the map of Aurule proper as it currently stands.

And the first thing Link does, before they even get all the way to Labrynna, is piss off a pirate:

A lot of you are not going to look at the alt text so I'm going to say that he's based on a thorny devil and I did not mean for him to turn out so adorable. (But also I love lizards so maybe it was inevitable that my fondness would show through.)

Link was MOSTLY trying to get him to leave Crescent Island alone so he blows up the figurehead of Kragg's ship.

Which was of Kragg's wife.

Kragg is gonna show back up.

Link and Marla and Tonbo manage to escape to Jabu City, which is based on the fact that there's an OoT-style-Zora Village underwater off the coast in Oracle of Ages because this fic is nothing if not wild extrapolation.

Jabu City is a mixed-peoples city, with Zora, humans, Rito and some Gorons, but it's largely Zora.

Note on mister "Oh I'm in DANGER:" A running gag is that Marla is considered a very attractive Zora and Tonbo is having absolutely none of people hitting on her. Marla takes a lot of delight in this.

Have some more Jabu City fashion because I got carried away:

The trouble is, Jabu City is a beautiful place but the Zora there are generally kind of... hoity toidy high on themselves. There's a few crass comments made about Marla being from Windfish Isle, for example.

So Link, Marla and Tonbo don't spend especially long there and instead head north to the town of Brynna, where Link finds himself instead running into his mother's past-- stories of her adventures, but even more importantly into a traveling story collector who has a bit of a connection to Catena.

I want you all to know that hitting on the idea that the Graceful Gorons are called that because they're all Victorian era-style boxers was the single most inspired moment I've had in this AU setting's worldbuilding, my brain is enormous and I am sexy as hell XD

Anyways Allemande and Courante were Catena's friends for years, and then Catena died so Allemande started taking journeys around Aurule every few years so that he could collect stories about her and about adventurers like her. Think of him as being a bit like an earthier Kass without an accordion.

Allemande suggests that they go to Lynna City, Labrynna's capitol, partly because another one of Catena's old friends lives there now.

But on the way they run into Politics again (they've already run into these politics in Jabu but now it's even more in their face), because they have to cross the Kappakon River to get to Lynna City, and that means interacting with the Kappakon River Zora, who are quite a different deal from the coastal Zora:

What Enhir means when she says "what they're doing to us" is that the mayor of Symmetry City next to Dimitri Bridge is dumping garbage upstream of the nearest Domain, Nuun Domain, trying to get rid of them and mostly making their Patriarch and their tadpoles desperately ill. (I didn't include a sketch of the Nuun Domain Patriarch even though he does have a design because at the point I drew this I already knew this post was longer than most of the original posts for the AU, waagh)

Symmetry City is also where Link, Marla and Tonbo first meet Sturmaz, who essentially joins the party for pretty much the rest of the storyline because I love him and he's a good boy.

I made a post about Sturmaz before and it features a little more art that is absolutely him yelling at Symmetry City's mayor about this mess.

So it takes some yelling at the right people but eventually Link gets the Nuun Domain sorted out and they head to Lynna City to meet his mom's best friend, Githa, who actually lives here because she got banished from Hyrule for reasons that might be clear after the picture:

Notes on Githa: She was originally inspired by Agitha from TP as she appears in Hyrule Warriors with a bit of influence from Purah; for some reason when Invid and I were playing through HW Agitha being a secret criminal or mob boss turned into a running joke along with her NPC mode constantly clinging to giant bosses whenever it was absolutely inconvenient. That turned into Githa.

Also, she doesn't know Catena thought of her as her best friend, which is the real reason Link decides she's a disaster person.

The problem is, now they're in the Capitol and naturally there's more Politics there. For example, Sturmaz's uncle:

And indeed, the stupid hat does come with the job, as Link discovers when he goes with Sturmaz and Nimbas to the Labrynna Senate:

So the idea behind Labrynna's government is that in CoRA's version of events, Labrynna abolished the monarchy after Queen Ambi because they weren't putting up with that shit again (the official line is that so much power is considered too much strain on one person.)

As is evidenced by the Presiding Lady still being a member of Ambi's bloodline and the senator of Brynna being her sister, however, nepotism is still alive and well in Labrynna.

Also Link gets a cute outfit so that he doesn't stand out so much in this crowd:

To be clear this is a man's dress and Link's entire reaction to it is "I don't know how my father puts up with a floor length skirt." Fuck your gender roles.

Nimbas turns out to be more than a bit of a professional jerkass.

(By "river monsters," Nimbas means the Kappakon Zora. Just to be clear.)

Link also visits the Maku Tree, because you don't go to the capitol of either Labrynna or Holodrum and just not visit the Maku Tree.

I wanted the Maku Tree to have an equivalent to the Kokiri for a number of reasons but one of them is that over on the Ghirahim side of the story he's having a silent existential crisis about his backstory and I like narrative mirrors. *thumbs up*

Credit goes to Invid for the idea that the Koroks and Kokiri are actually just the same thing entirely and that the Kokiri put on the Korok masks in order to leave Korok Woods safely.

Also Kula is actually a canon Breath of the Wild character. I made a sound like I was greeting a cat when I found her in TotK. XD

Link finds out, among other things, that the Golden Kragg seems to still be pushing his way up the Kappakon despite that he has to fight every single river Zora on the way. It turns out that Kragg is upset about more than Link blowing up his ship's figurehead:

At some point several years before in Yoll Province, the local dragon went missing, the local lizalfos started acting up, and then the Labrynna Senate, partially spurred on by Senator Nimbas's arguments on behalf of Senator Aldo from Yollton, well, absolutely exterminated the Lizal presence in Yoll Province, and executed the lizalfos leader in Lynna City Square.

Leaving behind her husband, the Golden Kragg, and his lizalfos pirate crew.

So THAT'S not great.

Have a chonky dragon.

Obviously that means that Link has to investigate this shit.

Kragg is heading straight for Lynna City with full intent to carve a new statue of his wife out of the Maku Tree herself, and while the River King Izemaz, living in the Maku Domain, is absolutely going to step in if Kragg tries it, the main bridge Kragg would have to come through is a major marketplace in Lynna and Link can't stand idly by even if it means his destiny as a Called Hero is sort of chasing him around a little at this point.

Which means that Link and party take an express glider to Yoll because time is now of the essence (it is terrible that I didn't draw this. Imagine them sitting in one of those steampunk engine-less plane contraptions and getting launched from a catapult. Also Marla doing lots of screaming.)

Well, shit.

(Link can hear Gabbrosald's sickened godsong because of the pointed ears while Zora are just really sensitive to Things Being Wrong in the Environment. LORE.)

Anyways shit goes DOWN. They have to do a dungeon and everything. And finally, at the end of it, once they've freed the dragon in distress, Gabbrosald gives them a ride back up to Lynna City so they can stop the Golden Kragg from burning Maku Park and using the Maku Tree as carving base, because actually Lord Gabbrosald was rather fond of those lizalfos and would prefer that the Golden Kragg not get himself killed.

Now Link just needs to convince Senator Nimbas that killing the lizalfos that the furious local dragon god is fond of is maybe not the best idea.

So basically this is an AU that lives in my head for over a year now, those are mostly sketches when i was figuring out how i wanted her to look, the tattoos etc.

I also had 2 vers of this AU one in modern setting in wich they lives with Cora-san and one in the actual world of one piece.

so i've started accidentally accumulating a lot of cora prints and stickers and for a while now i've had them awkwardly propped up on a shelf, but they don't seem happy there. then it clicked. i have a mother who makes mixed-media journals for this very reason. to stick photos and drawings and writing into. SO anyway we're now making a cora journal! i'll post some occasional progress pics for anyone who's interested. i'll use the tag #gensjournal for now so if you don't want to see any of this, you can go ahead and block that bad boy. starting progress below the cut!

things are still very rudimentary in terms of planning but we've got the inside of the covers vaguely measured and cut out! these were from the back of some cheap sketchbooks. we'll end up gluing paper and fabric over them to strengthen them and connect the binding into more of a cover shape.

we're still gathering some supplies but i raided the valentines day collection for anything vaguely heart-shaped or, yknow, corazon-like. these will be used to kind of... embellish some of the blank pages. make things prettier. thinking of layering washi tape over the edges of the pages too because i will certainly get a paper cut if i don't. we're also planning on inserting quite a few pockets to stick prints or other little doo-dads. i think i might rip out some original sketches from the 01746 collection and stick them in here, or maybe attempt to print some of my own art, too. i think it'll be really cool to have a little handmade physical rosinante archive XD

YOUVE FALLEN RIGHT INTO MY TRAP

Cora Shepard (they/she) is a level 5 simic hybrid swashbuckler rogue I’m playing in a campaign my good friend @candle-lion is running in free time between our wild west game. It’s set in SPACE.

Cora currently is a gunner on the SS Lesbos, a glorified shit box of a ship run by a skeleton crew of themself, a tabaxi monk named Star, and an earth genasi barbarian named Devryn. We also picked up a R4ng3r unit warforged paladin named Eden from ship wreckage but I’m sure it’s super normal and definitely didn’t kill everyone on board… Anyway! They were hired for a rather ludicrous job (a nice 100k credits!!!) and met with a contact who ended up being far too low ranked to really be the actual person hiring us. They asked us to steal an item that was going to be destroyed, and thanks to Cora’s sticky fingers, it was an easy pickpocket. Unfortunately, it turned out to be an industrial strength respirator chip—what allows space stations and battleships to have oxygen—but it was altered to fry the system and kill everyone onboard via asphyxiation. And it’s a multi use tool. So VERY BAD weapon of domestic terrorism!!! So we got the hell out of dodge and now we don’t know what to do with this thing but we absolutely cannot give it to the person who hired us, especially knowing it’s not really them we were hired by and not knowing who that person really is.

Cora herself was made, not born. They are the product of a laboratory experiment combining human and alien DNA to create??? Something??? She actually does not know, as they have blocked out much of their memory of their time in the laboratory. They do know they were trained for stealth and killing, so it’s possible they were meant to be a weapon of war or a perfect assassin or something. But she never knew parents. Instead she had only Dr. Satan—I mean, Dr. Nova—who was cruel and unkind, caring only to see that Cora was excelling in their testing and training. In a flashback, Cora, still a child at the time, went through a training course too slow, and to punish her, Dr. Nova burned her teddy bear, Arlo—the one comfort in their sterile, cell-like bedroom. Thankfully, however, there was a scientist there named Taga who showed Cora some kindness and promised to sneak them in a new teddy at some point.

Cora is very much an adult now and no longer part of the lab! And they don’t remember how they got out. Some rumors have it that they killed the doctor who made them!! Yay!! And she has no idea if that blood is on her hands. She has a complex about it. She met up with Devryn first and the two hit it off as close friends. They pick up odd jobs together for about two years before joining Star. Cora has a whole complex about being seen as just an animal or subhuman in any way (Dr. Nova called her an it on numerous occasions).

She’s a little creature and I love them. Here are some sketches :3

I started this post off half an edible last night and now am having a margarita at the airport since my flight got delayed💀 and since life has been crazy so the self ship brain rot has been INSANE lately esp bc me and one of my besties rewatched a bunch of HQ!! lately so I've been thinking about Asahi and am about to share all these ideas<3 I'm putting in undercut feel free to interact or share any of your self ships

We def met in class like some elective literature course. Our majors are so different with me being in anthropology and him in fashion school we both would pick some random historical literature class just to do something different and get out of our own departments. It would take at least half the semester for us to star talking though. I am notorious for a little classroom crush so I fell in love on sight, constantly talked about him to my friends, constantly had my friends asking if I had talked to him yet, stalked his Instagram to learn about him, etc. And though Asahi has a better grip on his anxiety when in college, he's still prone to anxious habits and after how people saw him in high school as "scary" he is not one to put himself out there. So he ends up having a lil classroom crush on me as the days go by and as I speak out more in class. I love a good chance to talk which I think he'd admire and it would make him fall for me. Half way through the semester I would finally make the move by asking him to be my partner on the newest assignment for the class. We'd both just be standing there like "holy fuck this hot person is talking to me" but not realize that the other is thinking it too LMAO. But you know as time went on and we got closer (being project partners meant the BEST reason to get his number see I be PLANNING) and I finally worked up the courage to ask him on a date and he said yes<33

Once finally in a relationship I feel like we'd have to opposite of a honeymoon phase. The first few months would be very awkward and we both overthink to the max so we'd be very scared of upsetting the other. After some time thought we'd finally have a nerve wracking yet honest conversation to actually establish boundaries, what we need, etc and like never have a relationship problem again. And that's when we both realize how much words of affirmations are both our love languages so we get comfortable being sappy<33 like we’re SO that couple saying cutesy shit 24/7 and leaving lil notes for each other on the mirror or in each other’s backpacks etc!! And we’re both not really PDA people so it balances perfectly😝

We have the same music taste for SURE like we both love some indie, mountain music I’m talking Briston Maroney, Noah Kahan, Backseat Lovers, etc we are both men with anxiety so this genre speaks to us🙏 However, Asahi does not understand the Lana hype but still supports me LOL sometimes I just have to cosplay a woman in a toxic relationship on the west coast (all things I’m just not💀) and he’s learned to let me have my fun after some reassurance that I just like the music and don’t actually think of him as bad (he’s too precious pls)

We are SO interested in each other’s line of work like I’m always excited over his sketches and pieces he’s making!!! And I’m always asking him a million questions about the process and all he does!! And on the same coin he’s always so fascinated with my research my main focus is on Pacific Archaeology so I always give him TedTalks™️ on everything he loves it!! I also intern at a museum so he’s always asking me questions about it. And a lot of what I’ve been lately at the museum is fashion history, so I love to tell him all about it!!

We compliment each other perfectly bc I’m very bubbly and outgoing!! So I’m very much a conversationalist and sometimes people think bc of that and my size that they can walk all over me. This is where Asahi’s natural intimation comes into play once mfs see him they KNOW not to fuck around. And on the other side, due to my extroverted nature I can easily jump into a conversation Asahi is actively trying to step away from without being rude. I feel like he gets quickly drained from strangers but I can talk to anyone for hours so I step him. This also is helpful bc I easily can make reservations and really any other scenario where he’s feeling too shy to directly say what he’s thinking/needs. I also am not afraid to fight for refunds and shit so he’s happy to let me take the wheel LOL

I just know we’d both get along with one another friends SO well😝 on that note Suga and I are so stoner buddies (you can’t tell me college suga didn’t smoke). Asahi would rarely smoke but when he does he just goes lol nonverbal and gets cuddly. Which honestly works good bc I just get happy and yap once again that perfect balance💗‼️

Most of our dates are just chill dates. We watch a LOT of TV together between anime and cooking shows and documentaries we just love a good lay in bed watching TV time. When we go out, it’s to museums and cafes!! We try and go to a cutey local coffee shop at least once a week just to get out. Sometimes it turns into homework dates or reading dates but mostly we just sit and talk and enjoy the fact there’s no rush. I currently have a coffee sticker book so he makes sure I always get a sticker when at new places🥺 I always switch up what I get but Asahi always gets a cappuccino and we usually split a lil pastry (usually I can talk him into buying multiple to try tho hehe)

I keep him updated on all the stupid TikTok drama bc I get disgustedly invested and that app can make me so mad so I go on RANTS about people being stupid it just always makes him laugh he thinks I’m just the most lovely thing all fired up even if it’s over something so unreal. I’m also OBSESSED with that Bistro Huddy tiktok series that is literally just one guy idk it’s SO good I make him watch it with me all the time LOL

Wip wednesday update! Er….sort of?

I accidentally missed wip wednesday due to feeling unwell, but here is an update anyway!

Some pieces here are new (1,3 and 4) while the 2nd has been a long in going process been working on it beteen other pieces and commissions, that last oen is also a revisit of a finished piece just experimenting on it as a base for designing some fancy hats and hairstyles for her she’s a princess sshe needs fancy head gear

1- this is Cora my original character who is a battle witch and elf in charge of a large platoon of her sister battle witches, whom have been currently gired out by Imperas Ispainia (the pink irl with wavy hair who is sleeping on coras shoulder..), I am really happy with how these sketches are turning out so far, I’ve attempted to draw Cora before but Hhave always really struggled getting a look I liked, this seems a lot further in the right direction :3

2- a small update on my wip of Llynaira going through wuit a tragic event, managed to design and draw most of her bed, still figuring out some furniture in the background which is not pictured here, but it’s a long slow process with lots of detail and perspective (things im not overly used to as someone who hasnt done alot of backgrounds)

3- my little guy Faerryn another elf except he himself is quite sickly, spending much of his time in bed and what isnt spend in bed is instead spent in a wheelchair, he is a good beautiful lad both in spirit and body though is looked down upon by his noble family due to the prejudice that surrounds disabilities in his culture… this little sketch of him is inspired by one if my favourite Miyazaki films “Howls moving castle” always loved how peaceful and beautiful this scene was nd really want to try nd recreate that feel in my style.

Faerryn is a part of a little au me and my boyfriend/worldbuilding partner came up with, where Andulas starts to die upon a major cataclysmic event, becoming more like a soulsborn kind of world than the “canonical” andulas,

The Family Crawley

Robert is through and through a people-person, HIS people. He is/was

a Mama’s Boy (TM)

desperate for his father’s approval, especially since they were quite different in personality. His father was rather quiet and stoic, he loved to travel and get away from Downton - Robert is very much not quiet and emotional, and he should never like to leave Downton.

loyal to his sister, even if they didn’t really get along THAT well all the time. Before ANE, I felt sure Rosamund was the elder sibling, but now that we know she’s not, I still think she’s only a year or two younger than Robert, making her around three-ish years older than Cora.

amazed by his slightly elder cousin, James. Amazed in the truest sense of the word: sometimes shocked at his crassness, sometimes in awe of his spirited whims. He loved him, really. It did sometimes feel as though his father and James were closer than Robert and him, but it didn’t bother Robert. His uncle was even more stoic than his father and used to intimidate him when he was little.

First of all, girls in general were (and are) a mystery to him; now add the fact that he felt he never held anything more pure and precious in his whole life when each was born. When they were just beginning to toddle, they’d fall or try to speak to him but he couldn’t quite understand what they were saying. (“What does one say to a nineteen-month-old girl, anyway? How are you enjoying the weather?”.) At age five onward, their world blossomed for him. They were funny and clever and loved to perform their plays for him. Sybil sketched him pictures, which Cora included in her letters while he was fighting the Boers. Edith showed him her poetry, which he thought was quite good! Mary rode out with him on her pony and eventually he taught her to hunt. He liked that.

Cora longed for a family she could feel close to. She wanted to be a mother more than anything else. She:

was never particularly close with her own mother. They were very different and Martha always seemed to expect Cora to be a little braver or sharper than Cora ever was. She was never meek, not by any means, but she was an introvert, something Martha didn’t understand. Martha also exhausts Cora — she sees her as a small-doses person.

They banded together against their mother, and they’d do anything for one another if it came to it, but Cora thinks he could be smarter. He makes poor decisions. And Harold thinks she was the favorite and a goody-two-shoes. (She was.)

yearned for a nursery full of babies. She felt a little less in charge than Nanny was of her daughters when they were small, and she hated that. Nanny intimidated her, which Violet assured her was exactly how it should be. (“Nanny knows best, Cora. It is her job to know best.”) She was happy to nurse her babies, and thankful the doctor recommended it for she knew Violet would never have allowed it. It was the only time she could be alone with them. She would slip into the nursery and talk to them and touch their little noses and hold their little hands, marveling at how perfect they were. She felt a little like an intruder, and she always found herself asking if she could hold them. It was another thing she hated. She liked to buy little dresses and adored to see them dressed like little dolls. As they grew older, she felt a little on the back foot. She didn’t know what to do in the mother-role for teenaged girls. Her own mother had been so overbearing. She would catch glimpses of her own mother in her actions (especially with Mary) and, feeling strange and guilty about that, would whisk them away to London for new frocks and take them to eat at a hotel, winking at them that it was “their secret.”

really, really, really wanted to have a son. After the Titanic went down, and before she really got to know Matthew, she went to London to a certain Doctor Ryder. (Rosamund had spoken of him in conversation, though she didn’t outright suggest Cora should go. She and Rosamund are cordial at best. She wanted to be close, and they could have been, but Rosamund felt a little resentment at Cora ranking higher than she did in the home she grew up in). Cora was still young enough to conceive, physically. And she had a small operation to remove scar tissue left by Sybil’s birth which had been quite traumatic. She never told Robert, not out of fear he wouldn’t understand, but because he took to Matthew much sooner than she did (her loyalty was to Mary), he believed in the honor of things, and because she didn’t want him to get his hopes up if nothing came of it. Something did come of it. Alas … She couldn’t bring herself to acknowledge that the miscarriage would have been a son, that the baby was a boy. She never talked about him to Robert because she couldn’t bear it. It was too awful. She did tell him she was sorry, though she didn’t verbalize what for. He knew, though, and dismissed it.

It was Robert and Cora who brought the Crawleys closer after that first year of marriage, with Mary, really. The Crawley family had always been loyal to one another, but something about the way Robert and Cora looked at Mary warmed the family from the inside out.

Their grandchildren are the absolute light of their lives. They spoil them completely rotten. Way too many gifts. Way too many games. Way too many hugs and tickles and giving them sweets with a “it’ll be our little secret” as Mary, Edith, or Tom sigh heavily. (Robert is MUCH worse than Cora in giving the children sweets; Cora finds this adorable.)

They have way too many photos of them all on every surface. Cora commissioned an artist to sketch and oil pastel all their cherubic little faces. Robert constantly suggests that they all come and stay at Downton for an extended holiday. Again, Edith and Tom sigh.

some regina mills headcanons

-she painted a little when she was younger but once she became queen she stopped doing it as often in favor of practicing magic, but once she got to storybrooke and realized how much free time she actually had she slowly got into it again. henry's nursery had multiple paintings and sketches on the walls and she would fingerpaint with him when he was a toddler

-she would write little notes and sneak them into henry's lunchbox every day, even once he was in high school, just because she could

-she's tired all. the. time. like this woman just cannot catch a break and she's been caught multiple times asleep at her desk in town hall after staying late to finish some paperwork or curled up on the couch in her study with a stack of propsals on the coffee table next to her

-she prefers tea over coffee

-she loves 90s sitcoms, especially the nanny and friends because she likes the idea of a group of mostly unrelated people being their own little family and wants it for herself

-this woman absolutely adores kids (i know its basically confirmed but still), she offers to babysit as often as she can and will always do fun little things for them and uses her magic to make toys and lights and whatever else she can to make a little one smile

-she gets seasick, which is part of why she hates the jolly roger as much as she does

-she adopted a cat after henry left. it was a fluffy black cat with yellow eyes and she named it cora. this cat absolutely was a little shit but she loved it anyways

Some pretty basic sketches of qallupilluit!Cora because the concept has invaded my brain

Traditionally, qallupilluit (from what I can tell) have long, black, sometimes curly hair, but for obvious reasons Cora’s hair is just his normal, but longer. Webbed fingers, rough/scaled skin, fins, claws, and rows of serrated, thin, pointed teeth are also pretty common in depictions of qallupilluit too, so I sprinkled them in as well! Cora wears a dyed, duck feather amauti, typically used by mothers to carry their children (or in this case, for the use of kidnapping said children), and although the actual sketch of what he looks like in it as an adult is colorless, the drawing of him as a kid wearing one has some colors that were fairly achievable using dyes. Being in the business of eating men and stealing children (plus his usual clumsiness) I imagine that he’d be pretty covered in scars too.

I would like to also mention that most stories say that qallupilluit are green-ish and vaguely fish-like with traits like seaweed hair, and for the sake of trying to keep Cora at least slightly resembling himself, I didn’t use them much.

Some behaviors of qallupilluit!Cora include the kidnapping and eating and such, but he also likes humming, and not just as a means of luring ppl to the thin parts of the ice. In this au, I like to think that while Cora has no qualms with eating humans, he prefers to stick to adults, not eating children under any circumstances. When he takes children, it’s also more out of concern than the “that’s kids unattended and I’m hungry, let’s dig in” style that actual qallupilluit have in the stories.

In his defense, if your chilling (ha!) at a shoreline and u see that some kid that’s been left on their own right next to the ocean when the temperature is WAY below freezing, your not going to go ‘eh, not my problem’ and swim off to go eat some humans, Because that kid is definitely going to get killed. Freezing to death, drowning, being eaten by a goddamn polar bear, etc.

Cora is soooo mètminwi coded to me.

He’s tall as hell (I mean, not mètminwi level of tall, but pretty damn tall regardless). He has red eyes (not glowing, but red is red). He has a habit of snatching up kids when they misbehave.

This one is much less concrete, but Cora also strikes me as a bit of a night owl? Not by choice, really though. More of an “oh god why did I do that embarrassing thing ten years ago it’s keeping me awake” and stress smoking past midnight deal.

But one of the things this has resulted in (since it lets me use emojis) is that I've been using it for checklists and stuff since it's just a Plain Jane text editor
