theyre executing me today due to my misunderstanding of pokemon breeding mechanics in gen 4 causing me to waste 3 days of my real life time hatching a dozen eggs and evolving 4 different baby pokemon that i didnt need to instead of just getting a smeargle to sketch both moves and then breeding it w a clefairy

Lickitung line review
Tumblr media
Lickitung is fairly forgotten about in the grand scheme of things, but I do like it quite a bit. The tongue thing is super in-your-face obvious and is a very unique theme (it also might be vaguely based off of an akaname yokai).
But what makes it work for me isn't just that it's a weird abstract creature with a tongue—it's that it's a very organic, cool-looking creature with a tongue. I love how its very vaguely salamander-esq in the face but is also bipedal, with a huge tail that mimics the tongue. It feels like something that could exist, and I always enjoy those kind of designs.
The stomach markings are also pretty interesting; it's an usual pattern that I don't think any other Pokemon sports, and they add a lot of shape to the body. Color-wise, pink is an obvious choice, and the cream works well to accent it. I do wish the pink was a bit deeper or more saturated as it feels a bit washed-out, but otherwise, this is a solid weird tongue thing.
Tumblr media
Lickitung also had a beta evo design in the Spaceworld Demo. I like the rolled tongue, mustache, and markings... but the way it's some kind of Indian snake charmer(??) feels uncomfortable, and the body shape needed to change more.
Tumblr media
Speaking of evos, Lickilicky is also as a weird tongue thing, but unfortunately it's not particularly well designed. My favorite thing about Lickitung is, as I just said, that it feels like an actual animal—but Lickilicky is anything but. The completely circular body, perfectly straight tongue, and stubby legs make it feel more like a toy.
But my other issue with it is that it doesn't really feel like a progression of Lickitung. Lickitung's thing is, surprise, the tongue, so you'd expect the tongue to be longer or more prominent in the design. Instead, it's shorter. Yes, it can presumably extend to be longer, but why would you de-emphasize the most important part of the design?
Similarly, the markings are reduced down, making them once again feel like a regression instead of a progression. They at least attempted to add something with the markings under the chin being more bib-like, but that's not enough to make the entire design work. Also, the wi-fi markings don't add much at this point and they would've worked at least a bit better in white.
You want to know an easy fix for this problem? Make Lickilicky the pre-evo. It feels weird to imagine Lickitung evolving into Lickilicky, but a Lickitung surrounded by little baby Lickilicky? Adorable! It would also make sense with things like the bib and the little curl of "hair" at the top.
If there's one thing I can give Lickilicky, it's that it at least has better colors than Lickitung. That, and the :P expression is kind of fun. Otherwise, though, I don't think this one works much at all.
(I also have to give a quick shoutout to @inprogresspokemon's Lickitung evo. This, to me, is a much better direction at all—it emphasizes and doubles down on the tongue paralysis thing and it still has a very organic body shape.)
Anyway, overall, Lickitung has a strong theme and a nice abstract design that conveys said theme well, but Lickilicky feels like a step backwards and would've been much better as a pre-evo. Maybe consider putting an everstone on this one.

i'm bored. jonah pokemon team v elias pokemon team (im not super settled on jonah's team except for one pokemon so feel free to discuss with me). i gave them both 3 pokemon cause i cant see either of them being like, full-time battlers, and also i will think too hard and my brain will explode if i go for 6 pokemon. and can you tell i don't give a shit about region. this is turning into a concerningly long post so im gonna put a readmore here
so, jonah's team!
Tumblr media
i think jonah probably would've probably favoured relatively flashy yet unassuming pokemon. his corvisquire isn't fully evolved into a corviknight and so is nowhere near as large and threatening as it could be, a meowstic isn't that large and is fairly cute, & while a hisuian zorua is sort of inherently threatening by way of being a ghost with its resentment taking physical form at all times, if jonah never acknowledges this, people can probably forget that... and i doubt it'd be widely known, anyway.
his corvisquire he probably caught as his first pokemon, seeing as rookidee is a very common bird pokemon, for companionship and self-defence. it's the one he's had the longest, and is probably his ace in battle. he was absolutely overjoyed when it evolved and treated it to some berries, but did end up giving it an everstone, apologetically. he needs to not seem threatening, not in this world of supernatural dangers, not until he's ready to. (i really thought jonah deserved some kind of bird pokemon, and there's not actually that many owls, but corvids are smart and do suit a younger jonah with their reputation of cunning.)
his meowstic he acquired to help him with research, as a psychic type. he didn't actually know what gender his espurr was, and was quite intrigued to see what form of meowstic it ended up as. as a fully evolved pokemon and one he's had a long time, it would be his ace, but it's not primarily a battler at all; it hasn't got optimal moves for battling, being a research companion, and it honestly doesn't enjoy battling that much. it'll do it, sure, but... not its favourite. (a psychic pokemon fit jonah's research goals, and honestly its appearance reminds me of jonah in a weird way. besides. autism pokemon.)
his hisuian zorua, however, was acquired far less innocently. it was the cornerstone of someone's collection, being both a rare pokemon in a regional form and a shiny. it... probably wasn't treated the best. jonah decided to liberate it; i think he'd honestly find it much easier to empathise with pokemon than people. how exactly he liberated it is up to you, i like to think it involved some amount of supernatural blackmail. the zorua decided to stay with him, and jonah happily kept it, though didn't let it be seen in public all that often, for worry someone might wish to steal it. it probably likes to help with jonah's research where it can, but definitely also enjoys to battle. too weak to be his ace, however. (i don't know how to explain this one. i just knew he needed one. it fit so perfectly in my mind. the illusion ability, disguising itself as another party member, also fits very well)
okay. elias's team now.
Tumblr media
you can see that over time, jonah has developed more of an appreciation for the unassuming, with the exclusion of his zoroark (who is indeed the same as the zorua from his original team, as an immortal pokemon). his noctowl and his liepard are probably the more publicly-facing members of his team, and his liepard is the more unusual of the two, which is impressive because it's barely unusual.
for the noctowl, i think he did maintain a fondness for bird pokemon, and i think through his various bodies he's kept one on most of his teams. perhaps at one earlier point in the institute's history, he had a decidueye, as a publicly-facing ace and a pokemon well-equipped to cope with the supernatural, given its ghost typing. anyway, i digress. an owl fits very well, as the institute's logo contains one, if i recall correctly, and it's a very mundane pokemon. he's fond of it, treats it well, but... he's nowhere near as attached to it as his corvisquire.
his liepard is slightly more interesting; it would be almost more unusual if he had only normal types on his team, after all, and i'd assume that in this field, it's expected for most people to keep a dark, psychic, or ghost type on their team. liepard serves that purpose perfectly. and, while perhaps it could be viewed as suspicious... it would only be suspicious in hindsight, after things have been revealed. also, another feline pokemon. this one wasn't intentional, but i do think elias likes cats. they're familiar to him, and. well. all cats are fuelled by autism in their own unique way.
now! his zoroark, now his ace, if he needs to go all out. i think it probably evolved around the time jonah first bodyhopped. and on that note, while i've not given them nicknames because frankly that seems like it would be insanely difficult, i think his zoroark gets a new name each time jonah bodyhops. as the only surviving member of his original team (with the others likely dying of old age or sickness), he is very fond of it. of course... he doesn't exactly let people know about it. i imagine most hisuian zorua and zoroark returned to the wild with the deaths of their trainers... it would be awfully suspicious for him to have a hisuian zoroark in the modern day. he's definitely more fond of it than he is most people. (i think it probably likes jon a lot, too. harasses him affectionately in s4 while elias is in prison, until he takes it onto his team.)
also, i haven't touched on it much but i think, both as jonah and as elias, he very much enjoys fussing over and slightly spoiling his team. brushing the fur of his pokemon with fur is probably the most relaxing thing he can do other than paperwork. soft enough on them not to stop them sleeping in his bed. (a hisuian zoroark's breath in your face first thing in the morning must be awful. elias lets it keep happening anyway.) et cetera.
maybe i should do one of these posts for jon lol

Melli Run Log 1: From the Start to the 1st Badge!
The game starts as always, since this is Platinum, Rowan starts talking to me and asks if I'm a girl or a boy. Since I am a roughly human shaped something and Melli is a guy, I star as a boy in this adventure.
The start of the game goes absolutely normal, so I ain't summing up the story.
The run starts smooth as the Starter was properly replaced by Stunky. The starting battle was easy as Poison from Poison Gas made a good work along with Scratch. This is will ne a tool helping us a lot. I got to Sangem and nicknamed the Stunky Petun, since I will be doing a flower theme for this one.
After this and running back to Twinleaf, I checked Bulbapedia and it turns out Dual Slot only works after you obtain the National Pokédex, which I ain't gonna do sooo... Yeah. None of the Pokémon that were actually gonna be on the team were Dual-Slot so it's OK.
Jubilife is very uneventful, meeting my man Looker, going into the Trainer School, getting the Pokétch. In the cave I catch Lilly the Zubat, who is again, gonna be fully evolved into Crobat, even tho Melli has no Crobat. I just am not bothered to put an Everstone or mash B every time it wants to evolve. After that, I decided to get an HM mule, for which I chose Bidoof. While I did enable Pokémon to learn any HM (found out you don't have to enable them to also be able to use any TM) for tge sole purpose of having 1 sacrificial Bidoof.
Comes 2nd Barry fight, where I unexpectedly encounter Growl spam. Stupid me didn't think to go to the Pokécentre so Petun was not that high on HP, but combination of Focus Energy, Scratch crits and Poison Gas + 1 Potion usage did score me an easy victory.
Healed up and stocked up on Potions I went back to Route 203, deciding to avoid some trainers for now. While I am very confident in my battling skills, but I don't want to overlevel, which is easy with just 2 Pokémon. Also given I have to switch-train Lilly because Zubat are not so strong (+ no good moves, Leech Life is 20 Bp in this gen) and not useful against the Rock gym EXP management will have to be done. Petun reached level 10 and I politely said No to Fury Swipes. They betrayed me a lot of times and also Sturdy just protects the Pokémon against 1 hit KO moves this gen (Sturdy like we know today didn't happen until Gen 5). I then took a look at Melli's Pokémon team and got reminded of Special Attacking Golbat and figures, I will have to use my Shadow Ball TM on it (if actually possible). Otherwise the movesets on Melli's Pokémon are actually good (except Venoshock on Drapion).
Anyways, side tangent over, time to get to Oreburgh. I did just that after deciding it's for the best to teach Rock Smash to Petun (which is actually legal move), because coverage. I found Barry in front of the Gym, who sent me off to the mine (will figure out how to put it into the story.) Knowing the level cap is at 14, I am going back to challenge the trainers I didn't already.
After getting to a comfortable level, it was Gym time. My strategy for the Gym was to spam the Rock Smash and Poison everything via Poison Gas. None of Roark's Pokémon posses Ground type moves, so I was in the clear.
Geodude went down easily, without the need for Poison Gas, Onyx however proved trickier. Poison Gas kept missing a lot and I had to switch to shake off a Screech. At the end Roark used up his 2nd Potion, but I won. Comes Cranidos and due to Stealth Rock and bad switching order I wiped, which marks the 1st Gym attempt. Now, I could go back and pick a Budew, but I ain't giving up on beating Roark with just Petun and Lilly yet!
2nd attempt starts similarly with Geodude going down in 3 shots. Now instead of keeping Petun in, I switched to Lilly at the sight of Onyx and used confused it. Then I let Lilly down for some Astonish chip. This attempt, Poison Gas landed on the 2nd use. After some healing the beast went down and I decided to sacrifice Bidoof for healing Petun. And I wiped to Cranidos again due to unlucky flinches. So I bit the bullet. It was time to add a non-cannon Pokémon in Budew. But then I quickly changed my mind and begun my 3rd attempt.
This time instead of leading Lilly and letting Roark get a free Stealth Rock on the switch, I led Petun. Geodude went down in 3 hits. Onyx was poisoned on the 2nd try and went down, getting Petun to level 15. This time instead of underspeeding Cranidos, I finally managed to outspeed, which earned me the Coal Badge!

Decided to soothe a little anxiety with another what-if Ash team, this time if he were to appear in the Horizons anime at some point.
The problem is that... I like both teams lol. So we could say there's one for Scarlet and one for Violet.
I decided to try and play with the idea Journeys proposed- rather than an entirely new team from the generation the anime takes place in, it's instead a mixed gen team of pokemon fans wanted him to have, some new faces, and unexpected ones.
However, because Ash isn't an MC anymore, a lot can happen. I think a really cool thing to see would be seeing a mix of him catching pokemon we fans/he missed a chance on catching, or evolving pokemon the writers either abandoned or kept cute because of stupid reasonings.
Anyways, my take on these teams:
Ash would have somehow wound up in Hisui at some point after becoming World Champion, at that point he would have had his Oshawott, Quilava, and Gible with him (and Rowlett too, but he's cursed with that stupid everstone). It'd be a quick run and I'd imagine he'd probably have a team caught from there before finding himself back in modern times via Kitakami's Crystal Pool somehow. However that quick run would be enough to finally finish out Cyndaquil's evolution to a Hisuian Typhlosion and expose Oshawott to Hisuian energy to become Hisuian Samurott. All of this would probably be mentioned briefly in passing or be a short few episode special or something before joining the group temporarily to help beat the bad guys.
So his team and a blurb for each.
Returning mons:
Pikachu: of course you gotta have this guy. I think a neat twist would be for it to be a Steel teratype because of his prolific Iron Tail usage. I'd imagine he and Cap would be great friends.
Garchomp: formerly Gible, but also an Alpha species now because it got hit with some distortion mumbo jumbo once, which prompted it to grow abd evolve rapidly. It's adapted to its new body and power, and Ash can even ride it now, but personality wise it's still a bit the same. Still biting his head out of affection especially.
Hisuian Typhlosion: again, it was already a Quilava at this point and was extremely close to finishing out it's evolution line, so by chance it finally does it. Like before, it's a bit ditzy, now becoming a bit of a sleepy boy, but also gaining a lot of power from evolution in exchange for some of its agility. I imagine now that he's taller, he gives the best hugs and takes plenty of naps with his head on Ash's shoulder or in his lap. Violet team.
Hisuian Samurott: the same Oshawott from Unova, but now greatly matured after helping to save Ash and Pikachu from harsh wilderness and dangerous Alphas. He's a bit more stoic now, and extremely loyal and strong, but deep down he still vies for adoration and attention even though he's better about it now. Praise and encouragement strive it to fight even harder. Scarlet team.
Both Typhlosion and Samurott would be evolved off screen as well, even if one appears and the other doesn't. Both also fill the role of a starter on his team since nobody has a fully evolved Hisuian starter in Journeys or Horizons yet (I'd imagine maybe another trainer would have Hisuian Decidueye). It'd feel like a good return to have a starter on the team, plus give him 2 pokemon I think he should have in some spirit or another.
New mons
Lokix: I once did an Ash run in Scarlet out of boredom, opting to give him a more traditional Paldean team (that I'd honestly change now). Something that wouldn't change is keeping Lokix, because it is universally agreed by fans that he'd have one. Hard not to see why, he's a Kamen rider bug and is very fast and nimble, and a little guy too, obviously a good formula for cool anime fights. In this case, I'd imagine Lokix being obtained as a Nymble and training hard to evolve, abd he's constantly posing and cool as hell. Even world champion Ash would get starry eyed seeing it make a cool pose after winning a battle.
Dundunsparce (3 segments): so something I noticed is that Ash tried to capture a Dunsparce TWICE in the anime- once in gen 5, and once in gen 6, both failed attempts. Something I never remembered to take into account us that Ash sometimes just gas weird or goofy/jokey Pokemon, and Journeys in particular has several Pokemon fans wanted Ash to have for years, like Gengar and Mega Lucario. So I figured 2 birds with one stone, third time is the charm and he finally catches a Dunsparce of his own. Then, it fully evolves into a whopping THREE SEGMENT Dundunsparce. It's a Pokemon Ash is rather fond of, and Dundunsparce sometimes shows affection by wrapping himself around Ash and squeezing the life out of him.
Armarouge: this seems to be a very widely agreed certified Ash Pokemon by the fans. And why not, it's a very cool design with colors that mesh well with Ash himself. I'd imagine Ash befriends a spunky Charcadet one day after making a sandwich, and instead of it being abandoned or mistreated, it's a Pokemon that has simply a desire to get stronger and actually rejects trainers for being too weak- but it saw something in Ash immediately and insisted on following him until he got caught. It eventually evolved into Armarouge after a pretty intense training session with Ash and a set of armor it received from a master of its line. Armarouge is now a very loyal bro pokemon that's especially gifted at run and gun tactics, although Ash is none too shy about using some of its moves at point blank range. Scarlet team.
Palafin: honestly this one was picked mostly to fill in a water slot, as I'm not particularly a fan of it nor do I really see Ash bothering with a Pokemon with an ability as complex as this. However, most people think this is another Certified Ash Pokemon, so I guess it's okay. I do think it'd be hilarious if Ash and most others aren't even sure where the transformed mode even comes from, but I also think for Ash to take full advantage of it, he'd eventually figure it out. A very caring Pokemon that especially goes all out against rough trainers and constantly helped Pokemon in need, but nobody has ever seen it transform once- and Ash didn't even know it did until he saw the heart on its chest. Violet team.
I definitely prefer the Scarlet team in this case, but I do think the other looks cool as hell as well. If he were to ever meet the Horizons team, I'd imagine this could be a Yugi vs Jaden GX moment for a final battle.

Saws Battaski <3
Saws is my Pokémon trainer oc! She's existed for years despite never looking the same or keeping the same name! Also she's mainly anime based because I like her and Ash being besties :)
Saws is from Alola region!! She does the Ash thing where she just moves around a lot, I need to yap about their relationship later. She's very drawn to the Hoenn region and tends to go back there when she doesn't have somewhere specific to go.
She's a very strong trainer only keeping the same six Pokémon's on her team! (This is my personal team forever and always these are my guys)
-Her partner is Talonflame! She's had him basically her whole life.
-Mudsdale is the strength of the group he can take a hit the best.
-Luxray is her sweet girl she's got a very strong bite.
-Noivern was a Pokémon she hatched and instead of coming out the typical shade of purple a Noibat would be he was green instead.
-Umbreon is also a Pokémon who's been with her since the beginning a gift from her father. She also has a unique color to her her golden rings has splashes of blue in them.
-Rockruff is the underestimated. He sealed his fate with an everstone, but despite that he's still able to keep up with the rest of them. He also has an extremely strong bite.
I feel like that was too much yapping for one piece of art if the audience likes this I'll probably draw more and if they don't I will anyways!

Peliper mail:
A pamphlet containing an add to my shop.
On said pamphlet you can see:
Everstone 30% off,
Magikarp food 25% off,
Gyarados food 25% off,
Gyarados grade chew toys: 3 for the prise of 2
Magikarp jump training equipment: 10% off
I don't think I've ever gotten this excited over a pamphlet before. I have been eyeing that 'Power Generator' training device back home, and with how expensive some of the fancier equipment can get, a 10 percent discount can really make all the difference! Plus Magikarp food AND Everstones? Sold, sold, triple-sold! Hope this sale's still going on by the time Mayor Karp thinks I'm responsible enough to handle Gyarados on my own y'know what I'll probably grab some Gyarados stuff anyways, I'm sure they'd appreciate it.
Alright, I'm interested!

Pokemaniacs: Badge 1
This series is gonna simply be tagged Pokemaniacs where I’ll be documenting my run of Pokemon Emerald on a GBA emulator with an Animaniacs themed team. Series will be updated as I win each badge or after story events.
Tumblr media
Naive nature. Moveset: Water Gun, Tackle, Defense Curl, Tail Whip.
Tumblr media
Hasty nature. Moveset: Tackle, Attract, Tail Whip, Growl.
Tumblr media
Mild nature. Moveset: Tackle, Growl, Tail Whip.
Tumblr media
Sassy nature. Moveset: Ember, Double Kick, Focus Energy, Peck.
Team Members
Pinky is the newest member! Using him is gonna be a little challenging, because his special attack isn’t the best and unfortunately this is Gen 3 where the physical/special split hasn’t happened yet and he doesn’t have the Fairy typing. However, he does have Huge Power, which doubles his attack stat. I’m planning to give him the Everstone, because frankly he’s an aqua mouse and I don’t want him evolving into an aqua bunny. Don’t get me wrong, I love Azumarill and I’ve used it before, but I need to keep to the theme.
The biggest crime with Rita is that I won’t be putting Sing on her, even though it would suit her well. Sing is only 55% accurate and I’m not taking my chances. Personally I prefer paralysis or poisoning as status conditions.
Decided to make Runt a permanent team member after all.
Boo’s evolved and ready to kick ass and take names. I love his sass, but unfortunately it’s a speed lowering nature which isn’t the best for a speedy kickboxing hot chicken.
Though I’m gonna be rotating other members in to help with HMs in the field, I’m only gonna be sticking with these four for battles. The last two members won’t be encountered until mid to late game, but they’ll be added together once they are.
The Gym Battle
Led with Pinky, and I discovered that his Water Gun isn’t enough to 1 hit KO Roxanne’s two Geodude, and she wasted her potions on both of them. I’m so used to sweeping this fight with Mudkip tbh. The game’s a lot tougher if you’re not using Mudkip, trust me.
Roxanne’s not a particularly tough Rock specialist (that honor goes to Roark who plows through everything with Cranidos’ Headbutt), but her Nosepass has sky high defenses, so it’ll just take a bit of patience to knock her out, especially if you’re imposing a challenge on yourself.
Anyway, Pinky just spammed Water Gun until he was knocked out by a red health Nosepass, then Boo finished the job with Double Kick.
So now that I got the Stone Badge, it’s onto Dewford Town...and a fighting type gym. I’m in trouble.

Chandelure, Victini, Giratina, Uxie, Latias!
OMG FIRST ASK!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! *(^O^)*
Okay, first of all, I’m so sorry for answering so late. Secondly, I should’ve told you beforehand that my Pokemon experience and knowledge are actually very low, because I never play any Pokemon nintendo games (the only games I ever played are PoGo and Magikarp Jump) because I don’t have nintendo. But I’ll try to answer your ask anyway? XD
Chandelure: What Pokemon do you find the creepiest?
The first Pokemon that crossed my mind is Drifloon. I watched a haunted school scene from… I think it’s an Ultra Moon LP CMIIW and the ending creeped me out. Then about months later, the gen 4 Pokemon was released in PoGo. After I caught Drifloon, I remembered that scene and immediately looked for Drifloon PokeDex, and…Oh my god. It’s real. ;~;Even when I almost didn’t remember how the haunted school scene ends, that creepy child-soul-taker balloon impression still lingers.
Victini: What battle will you never forget, either in game or in the anime (or both)?
In anime, there’s a battle in Sun and Moon when Mimikyu used his first Z-move and omg, I’d been waiting for it for so long and that’s amazing. XDAlthough I honestly kinda felt sour when seeing the ending and I still am.
In game… I don’t think there’s any battle memorable to me.There’s something that I like in PoGo–not exactly a battle, but it’s Great League training with Blanche. The funny thing about training with Blanche in Great League is that her first Pokemon that she called is Magikarp. I once trained with a team of 3 flippin’ Magikarps and it took almost my 2 Magikarps to beat one. It almost straight 3 minute of Magikarps splashing each other. Then somehow the game started the 20-sec countdown, probably out of boredom. XD
Giratina: What makes you the most angry in Pokemon?
I… rarely (if ever) angry because of Pokemon. But there was an annoying thing in PoGo (the older version though, but I still never forget it) when like literally every gym were dominated by one or all of these: Blissey, Snorlax, Dragonite, Gyarados, Rhydon.
If you don’t have one of those Pokemon, don’t even try to ever take down the gym. It’ll waste your time. And even if the gym is ruled by your team, it’s still unlikely to place your Pokemon because it’s always full of those giants. It’s almost like… why did this gym system even exist?
The gym system nowadays is much less annoying because the Pokemon’s CP would decrease the longer said Pokemon stays in the gym.
Also every time I was so close to defeating a Raid Boss single-handedly and somehow the internet decided to end the battle prematurely drive me nuts.
Uxie: What is something you wish would be added to the games?
Oof, this is a hard question. I can’t find a good one even for PoGo.
Well, for sure I want gen 7 to be released in PoGo ASAP. XD
Also, I want to pet Pokemon in PoGo. :OOr at least I want the Pokemon’s movement is more synchronized with their voice. It’s weird to see Snorlax doing a long yawn movement, but its sound is just a short *bwaep*. :/
Oh, maybe a tag team battle and/or battle royal for PoGo?Because until now, the only way to play with more than two players at once is through raid battles and it only happens at certain time. With tag team or battle royal mode, not only four player (and maybe more) can play in one arena, you can play it together literally anytime and anywhere!
Latias: What Pokemon do you wish you could have in real life?
Aaaaahhhh!!!! I have so many favs!!! :O
Some Pokemon that crossed my mind are Pyukumuku, Mimikyu, Skitty, Togepi (+Togekiss), Jigglypuff, Bulbasaur, Magikarp, Togedemaru, Dedenne, Swinub, Chimecho, and… I don’t remember what else XD.
But in real life, I think I only can handle Togepi because as far as I know, Togepi is the most… harmless in my list above. And I might even have to give Togepi everstone because I can’t handle the giant bird called Togekiss. DX
Or maybe a Magikarp with everstone, because at least I have experience in breeding tilapia.
Yet I still would say that I rather have digital Pokemon than having real-life Pokemon and seeing them die. :’(
Also, thanks for asking! I might have to find a way to play other Pokemon games with PC or… something other than nintendo. XD

Pokemon Crystal Run 3
Should I start putting parts at the start of this? neh
Anyway when I try to head into ilex forest I'm met by silver who picks a fight
First round is Gastly vs Priscilla. Which should give me the advantage as Priscilla knows foresight. Gastly attempts a hypnosis which doesn't effect Priscilla and Priscilla pulls of foresight. Gastly attempts hypnosis again and Priscilla gets off a peck. Next turn tho Gastly succeeds with it's hypnosis and Priscilla falls asleep. I don't have much else to match Gastly and I don't want my whole team hypnosis so I'm leaving her in.
Gastly pulls a spite which reduces pecks pp by 3. And again reducing it by 5. And 2.
Thankfully Priscilla wakes up and lands a tackle.
Only to fall asleep on the next turn. Yet another spite, Priscilla wakes up and tackles Gastly. Thankfully the next hypnosis misses and Gastly faints. Whew.
Next up is Zubat. Zubat lands a bite while Priscilla gets off a peck. Zubat attempts supersonic but misses, letting priscilla tackle. Another bite and Priscilla flinches. Another bite and Priscilla pecks. Next two supersonics fail and two tackles take out Zubat.
Now croconaw. He lands a pretty damaging scratch and Priscilla lands a peck. My best bet is to chip this thing down. Still I'm gonna try and get in a foresight. However croconaw moves first with a scratch. Next up is Phoebe but the type disadvantage causes her to lose a ton of health to water gun and go out the next turn. Bob is likely my best bet
Croconaw used leer on Bob. In response Bob uses tail whip. Croconaw gets a critical hit on Bob bring him down to red. Bob uses another tail whip. I use a super potion on Bob. Croconaw gets off another water gun, twice, and kos Bob. Damn.
Cinder is all that's left. I have him use smokescreen. Croconaw tried leer but missed. Cinder uses another smokescreen. Sadly croconaw still gets off a water gun and takes out half cinders health.
It's a gamble now.
Another smokescreen. Croconaws next water gun fails. For safety I use another smokescreen. Next water gun fails too. I have cinder uses leer. Sadly next water gun hits and cinder goes down. I lose.
Poot.
Gonna level up and try again...
As I walked around trying to level up the egg hatches into Togepi! I call up elm and tell him the egg hatches. He asks me to come show him so I head that direction. On the way I taught Togepi flash so I could get into the dark cave on the way back to my hometown. Only found a potion tho.
If Togepi can learn cut I might keep it around awhile...
And just looked it up and it can't. Poo. To the box Togepi.
After I show you to the professor. Which I do, and the professor gives me an everstone. Pretty sure I have no reason to use it atm, but ill keep it in the box in case.
Made my way back to Azalea town and started training up in the slowpoke well.
I got Priscilla up to lv. 16 and she learned hynosis whlie the rest reached level 16 with no new moves. Dang this is taking some time. I mean I'm doing this gym-to-gym with Emerald I am nowhere near Whitney yet and this is still one of the longest posts!
Anyway time for a rematch!
This tiem around I'm starting with Cinder vs Gastly. I'm hoping his fire type attacks will take gasty out fast. AAAnd just like that i somehow pick leer instead of ember... great. Thankfully gastly used lick instead of hypnosis. Cinder used ember the next turn which took out over half of gastlys health, and it only responded with a lick. Cinder takes him out the next turn.
Next came out croconaw. I still lack a real answer to croconaw so I'm sending in Bob as its a fellow water type. Croconaw hits bob wth leer right off the bat. Bob lands a critical hit slam but it doesnt do much. Croconaw uses rage, and bob responds with slam. croconaw uses leer and bob once more uses slam but misses. Croconaw used slash and bob tried to use slam, but missed again. Croconaw used another scrath taking bob down to red, but Bob managed to get a tail whip off. Croconaw knocked bob out on the next turn.
I swap in to Priscilla given shes the only other mon I have on hand that isnt weak to water. Croconaw hits a scratch but Priscilla uses hypnosis in response and croconaw falls asleep. Priscilla uses peck but it doesn tdo much so I switch to using tackle. Thanks to Croconaw not waking up we finally take it out! WOOT
Last mon is zubat. Priscilla hits it with peck, but it responded with bite. Zubat tried to pull a supersonic but failed, Priscilla pulled off a hypnosis and zubat fell asleep. A few tackles later, one of which was critical, zubat goes down and I finally beat Silver!
PHEW FINALLY
I get into Ilex forest, find this kids farfetch'd, save his job, and get given cut.
Now, I am much like other old school pokemon fans in that i utter LOATHE the move Cut. In early pokemon games its required to get through major areas or get certain items, but its weak as crap in battle. Its inarguably the most notorious of the cruddy HM moves.
So, while I said before I'd try to minimize looking stuff up I immediately went over to pokemondb.net to find out what the earliest pokemon I could catch was that could learn cut. Thankfully this game has decent enough design that two of them, paras and oddish, are already available in ilex forest and I can get it right away. Bonus is they can also learn Flash which will make them come in handy later. Since I'm trying to use exclusively johto pokemon in this playthrough I have no issue using paras and oddish like that. You may point out I could evolve oddish into bellossom but the only way to do that is with a sun stone and the only way to get a sun stone in this game is to come in first in the bug catching contest and I just... no. I wont do it. You cant make me. So early game HM slave they shall be!
Caught a Paras, named him FLASH-CUT, Now get me through this forest FLASH-CUT. Yer getting boxed the second I get to goldenrod. Anyway managed to get headbutt from a random guy and surprisingly ran into a psyduck? Nothing notable I just didnt realize psyduck was encounterable in ilex forest.
Anyway I got through route 34 while dodging some of trainers and ran into the old couple on route 34. I forgot to save before getting the egg but eh, this is supposed to be a legit playthrough so resetting to get a good mon from the egg would be lame. I might use it depending on what it is but we shall see.
Went back to fight the trainers. Phoebe learned flail. But I'm not gonna stop there. I'm going to try and fight as many trainers as I can before facing Whitney in order to level up the gang. Whitney is pretty notorious and my team took several tries to beat our /rival/ so yeah. TRAINING TIME.
Defeated all the trainers underground, went north of goldenrod and got a spearow with mail from some guy who wanted me to take it to his buddy on route 31. (already used fearow in gen 1 so not using kenya.) Aaaaand then found out you cant box pokemon who are holding mail... And I dont want to /remove/ the mail because I have no idea if it'll stay on Spearow after. I could just backtrack to Route 31 and give it to the guy but it'd be faster if I save it for after I beat whitney and move the odd tree. Then I dont have to backtrack all the way through the routes. So, at least for now, I technically have a full team with the last two slots being flled with a lvl 10 Spearow I dont count as mine and an unknown egg.
Regardless I got a bicycle, beat all the available trainers, and picked up some great tms and items from route 35, and te national park. I also talked to the little girl by the weird tree thing and found out that in order to proceed I have to beat Whitney. Deciding I'd use her gym trainers as exp fodder before coming up with a strategy, I cleared out the gym.
After all the training and everything Both Priscilla and Bob evolved into a Noctowl and Quagsire respectively, and all my main mons are now at level 20. Now I'm going through my tms and teaching it to my team.
While trying to decide what to teach what to who and wandering around the goldenrod department store the egg the daycare couple gave to me hatched into a Cleffa. Sadly not really what I was hoping for. There are other normal types in this gen I'd rather use so sadly Cleffa is going to be banished to the box. (Honestly kinda curious about Aipom or miltank or something).
Anyway gave Bob the quick claw, Cinder and Phoebe berries, and facing off against Whitney.
Its Celfairy vs Bob. Bob takes half of clefairys health with a headbutt, and clefairy returns with a metronome that results in a... something kick? I somehow managed to miss it. Either way it doesnt do much damage. Bob pulls off another headbutt and takes down clefairy.
Now for the REAL challenge.
I swap into Phoebe against Miltank. Miltank hits a stomp but it doesnt do much. Miltank tries a rollout but misses and, using their own strat against them, I have phoebe use rollout too. But it doesnt do much. Miltanks doesnt do much either tho.
So now its a rollout off. For two rounds they rollout on each other and Phoebe manages to get a critical hit, lowering Miltanks health quite a bit. Miltank does another round of rollout as does phoebe. This lasts for three rounds and- PHOEBE TAKES MILTANK OUT
HAHA TAKE THAT WHITNEY USED YOUR OWN STRATEGY AGAINST YOU HAHAHAAHAH
I mean it helps I leveled my team to the point that they were equal level to rollout but still.
And I make her cry. Plenty of people complain about Whitney breaking down in tears after losing, but my take has always been that I REVEL in the tears. Especially after beating her in a rollout-off.
So I have the plain badge now! Finally bringing this post to a very long awaited END.
whew thanks for reading guys! Before I save the game I'm going to get the pokegear radio upgrade and take a break XD.

Alright, let's see here!
1. Phantump. I'll be honest, this sinister Sycamore just sounds sad. A dead kid lost in the forest? Of course I'm going to adopt it! Besides, I enjoy helping out at a mental health organisation (I'm not allowed to say it for personal reasons) where we help young people with poor mental health meet together and socialise in the forest, so a dead kid (who definitely has some issues with still being alive and their face being Birch bark) in the forest sounds like another member of the group.
And yknow, it's the common campfire story trope of someone being lost in the wilderness, something in locally known for.
2. Drowzee. Speaking of campfire stories, I absolutely love this line. Ever since I realised hypno and by a much lesser extent drowzee have a campfire story based off them, one of these goobers would definitely be welcome to share their lullaby and their meals dreams with my fellow wildlife friends!
On top of that, I'm horrible at sleeping. I either sleep too much and don't get enough energy or just don't sleep at all. So, as Drowzee and hypno are known for their incredible work for helping others rest, id be more than happy for them to chomp on my dreams for a good night's rest.
And yknow, they don't need much exercise
3. Morllul
So you're telling me morllul is a portable composter for literally anything, while making the entire area glow? As a gardener, insomniac, a guy who likes eating portobello mushrooms and an enjoyer of any type of light that doesn't kill me, id fucking love a morllul.
As long as I'm allowed to tape an everstone to it, I'll be happy!
Anyways, let's see here...
@deadbread007 only if I could, I'd ma-...
@miffymycat go nuts, homie
@gerako8bit remember, safety. Get a pillow for that goober.
@diamonddiancie10 you'll probably see this buried under notifications, but remember to take breaks.
@snailslunchpail wake up samurai, you have a city to burn.
Domestic Pokémon Tag Game!
This thread from @cloudmancy gave me an idea for a new tag game! The rules are simple:
Choose a maximum of three (3) Pokémon that you could maintain in your current living situation.
Explain why you choose them and how you think they would behave/interact with you and the environment they would live in ("normal" pets already present included).
Then tag 6 people (like a standard Pokémon Team) to hear what they would do!
Here's mine:
Mimikyu= I'm passionate about stitching, sewing and making things with cloth, so whenever it would try to change its Disguise I could make it new ones! Plus, what's best than snuggling a cutie beastie that's part-time eldritch horror? Since Mimikyus are part Ghost Types, it should be more active during the night that's when I'm more active as well due to the insomnia. Given the combo Fairy-Ghost Type, it would probably be mischievous as well, so I'll expect jump scares whenever I'm distracted or not paying attention to it.
Sinistea/Polteageist= I love tea and mugs, so this one was a natural consequence of both my cravings. I would try to get the Antique Form because it's rare and I'm a collection fanatic and peculiarities like this one are my jam. The Little Menace would try to trick me every time to drink a little of its tea to drain my life-force, so I would have to be careful of any beverage I drink... So after a while to be petty it could wake me up by splashing me on the face with it! (≧∇≦) Still, it would be the best partner to choose to get suggestions for "normal" brands and tea mixes and we would enjoy them together.
Applin/Appletun= This one was a hard choice, since I was torn between this (who is my typical icon), Zorua (because of their illusions and the Fluff™) and Eevee (also for the Fluff™ and for the flexibility of choices for evolutions). But then I realized that I need to differentiate my "Team" and someone who would help me look out for my plants, so Applin is my choice! They are adorable and being part Grass Type they are more sensible to plants needs, which is something I need because sometimes I forget to water them, so by caring for an Applin I would remember the others. The Cute Menace that is also part Dragon Type would be the primary culprit for making all the fruit (primarily apples) to disappear, forcing me to go shopping more often, but it's forgivable, after all who would say no to such an adorable face?! (๑ゝڡ●๑)
Anyway... Here's my tags! Since you asked @pennerjones I choose you! Then @floralflowerpower @theshinyslaking64 because I know they will enjoy it (and I want to see if their team matches), plus @ectoblastfromthepast @kimera20 @cleanlenins because they like pokémon as well.
I wanted to tag other Phans, but I needed to restrict myself otherwise I would have broken my own rules! ( ≧Д≦)
But anyone who wants to join is welcome! (。•̀ᴗ-)✧

Breeding in Pokémon Sun and Moon
So the same friend also wanted me to make a breeding guide for SM/USUM, so here we are! I also noticed @battle-institute didn’t yet have a breeding guide, s that’s another reason.
Basics
So the very basics of breeding begin at Paniola Ranch, north of Paniola Town on Akala Island. To start breeding, you must have two Pokémon that can breed and are currently in your party. Speak to the woman at the desk inside to deposit both Pokémon, then exit. In front of the building is a woman who usually has her arms by her sides. If, however, her arms are crossed:
Tumblr media
then talk to her to receive an egg. And that’s how breeding works!
...well, there’s more to it than that.
Compatibility
Not all Pokémon can breed with each other, to begin with. Only ones in the same Egg Group can breed. Most Pokémon sites like Serebii have a list of Egg Groups and the Pokémon they contain.
There are 15 in total: Monster, Water 1, Water 2, Water 3, Bug, Flying, Field, Fairy, Grass, Human-like, Mineral, Amorphous, Dragon, Undiscovered, and Ditto. Some Pokémon may belong to multiple Egg Groups (for example, Pikachu belongs to both the Fairy and Field Egg Groups).
- In order to breed, the two Pokémon must be of different genders and belong to the same Egg Group.
- Female-only or male-only Pokémon can’t breed with others of their evolutionary line (two Chansey, for example, can’t breed).
- Any Pokémon, even genderless Pokémon, can breed with Ditto.
- Genderless Pokémon (like Minior or Beldum) and male-only Pokémon (like Tauros) can ONLY breed with Ditto.
- None of the Pokémon in the Undiscovered Group - which contain all legendaries, Ultra Beasts, and baby Pokémon like Munchlax and Smoochum - can breed. Bizzarely, Nidorina and Nidoqueen cannot breed with any other Pokémon, including Ditto, but Nidoran F can.
- It’s important to note that Ditto cannot breed with another Ditto.
- Another note is that it doesn’t matter what level, evolution stage, or relation the two Pokémon are, as long as the above criteria work. You could, for example, breed a newly hatched Level 1 male Caterpie with it’s parent, a Level 100 female Butterfree.
Hatching Eggs
Eggs will hatch (if they are in your party) as you walk. Every Pokémon has a base egg step amount. If you have a Pokémon with the Flame Body or Magma Armour ability in your party, eggs will hatch twice as fast. In USUM, the Rotom Hatch power makes egg hatch even faster!
I find it helpful to have one Pokémon with Flame Body/Magma Armour and five eggs in your party before running an egg route; hatching them all in batches of five is usually manageable.
One of the best egg routes is as follows: Riding on Tauros, head North from Paniola Ranch and keep going North until you hit the ledge. Turn around and run due South, back to the Ranch, then South again to Route 6. Keep going South until you hit the wall, then turn around and come back up. If you like, you can jog to the side from Route 6 and head to Heahea City, then run West until you hit the end of the road, and then turn back.
What comes out of the Egg
When breeding Pokémon, there are some important notes:
When breeding a non-Ditto Pokémon with a Ditto (e.g Metagross and Ditto), you’ll always hatch the first stage of that non-Ditto Pokémon’s line (e.g Beldum).
Breeding two Pokémon of the same species (e.g a male and female Toxapex), you’ll always hatch the first stage of that species’ line (e.g Mareanie).
Breeding two Pokémon of different species (and same Egg Group, of course) ALWAYS hatches the first stage of the MOTHER’S line. For example, if you breed a female Hippowdon with a male Shiftry you’ll ALWAYS hatch a Hippopotas. If the Shiftry was female and the Hippodown was male, you’ll ALWAYS hatch a Seedot.
There are two exceptions to the above, however: if you breed a Nidoran F with any compatible Pokémon, you’ll hatch a Nidoran F OR a Nidoran M! The same thing happens with Nidoran M and a Ditto - the result of that union will be either a Nidoran F or a Nidoran M.
The same applies to Volbeat and Illumise; breeding an Illumise with a compatible Pokémon hatches either a Volbeat or an Illumise, while breeding a Volbeat with a Ditto will result in either an Illumise or a Volbeat.
Another note is Pokéballs. If Pokémon of the same species are bred, the resulting offspring will be in either parents’ ball. If the species are different, the mother’s Pokéball will be passed down. If the parents are a Ditto and a genderless/male-only Pokémon, the child will have the non-Ditto parent’s ball.
Finally, the subject of baby Pokémon. If, for example, I bred a male and female Mr. Mime, the egg would hatch into a Mr. Mime. If I wanted a Mime Jr. - Mr. Mime’s pre-evolution - you would need one of the parents to hold an Odd Incense. A chart of this:
Marill/Azumarill + Sea Incense = Azumarill
Roselia/Roserade + Rose Incense = Budew
Snorlax + Full Incense = Munchlax
Mr. Mime + Odd Incense = Mime Jr.
Wobbuffet + Lax Incense = Wynaut
Chimecho  + Pure Incense = Chingling
Sudowoodo + Rock Incense = Bonsly
Chansey/Blissey +  Luck Incense = Happiny
Mantine + Wave Incense = Mantyke
The other baby Pokémon - Riolu, Magby, Elekid, Smoochum, Tyrogue, Togepi, Igglybuff, Cleffa, and Pichu - do not require the parents to hold any incense.
Egg Moves
Let’s say I want to breed a Hippowdon that knows Whirlwind. A lot at Hippowdon’s Serebii page tells us it can’t learn Whirlwind via level up, move tutor, or TM...
But it can learn it as an Egg Move!
To teach a Pokémon an egg move, one of the parents must currently know that move. Not all moves can be passed down as Egg Moves, and the Egg Moves a Pokémon can learn vary from species to species.
To get a Hippopotas with Whirlwind, I’d need to breed a female Hippopotas/Hippowdon with a male Shiftry that knows Whirlwind. The Hippopotas that hatches from the egg will know Whirlwind! If it was a male Hippopotas, I could replace the male Shiftry with the child, then breed more Hippopotas that know Whirlwind.
One of the most important Pokémon for passing down egg moves is Smeargle. It can learn nearly any move via Sketch, and can pass down those learned moves to its children. Smeargle also belongs to the Field Egg Group, which contains more than 100 Pokémon, many of which belong to other Egg Groups, so we could chain breed nearly any move onto nearly anything.
What’s chain breeding? Well, say I want to have a Klefki that knows Switcheroo. According to Serebii, I’d have to breed it with a Snorunt that knows Switcheroo, but there’s a catch - Snorunt itself can only learn Switcheroo through breeding! I would have to breed a male Plusle that knows Switcheroo with a Froslass or female Snorunt/Glalie until I got a male Snorunt with Switcheroo. I’d then have to breed that Snorunt with a female Klefki to get a Klefki with Switcherooo.
I can’t simply breed Plusle and Klefki together (cutting out the middleman, so to speak), because they’re in separate Egg Groups (Klefki in Mineral and Plusle in Field and Fairy). However, because Snorunt belongs to the Fairy and Mineral Egg Groups, it can bridge the gap between the two Egg Groups, and I can get a Fairy Pokémon’s move - Plusle’s Switcheroo - onto a Mineral group Pokémon.
Now that I have a Klefki with Switcheroo, I can breed it with another compatible Pokémon, and the Klefki that results will always know Switcheroo.
Importantly, genderless and male-only Pokémon (aside from Nidoran M and Volbeat) can’t learn Egg Moves, since those Pokémon can only breed with Ditto, and Ditto can’t learn anything aside from Transform (which can’t be passed as an Egg Move).
Now that I have a Klefki with Switcheroo, I can breed it with another compatible Pokémon, and the child will always know Switcheroo.
A graph from all this would look like this:
M Plusle (Switcheroo) + F Snorunt = M Snorunt (Switcheroo)
M Snorunt (Switcheroo) + F Klefki = F Klefki (Switcheroo)
F Klefki (Switcheroo) + Ditto/M Klefki = Klefki (Switcheroo)
One more note is that if a Pikachu holding a Light Ball breeds with =a compatible Pokémon and the child would be a Pichu, that Pichu would hatch knowing Volt Tackle. It won’t have Volt Tackle is the parent knows that move, however.
E.g, Pikachu [Light Ball] + Ditto = Pichu (Volt Tackle)
Held Items
Pokémon in the daycare can hold items while they are there. Only a few items will have an effect on breeding, and they are Everstones, Power Weight/Bracer/Band/Lens/Anklet Belt, and the Destiny Knot.
A Pokémon holding an Everstone will always pass it’s Nature down to its child. If both parents hold Everstones, the child will always have one of the two Natures chosen at random. Pokémon not holding Everstones will have children of a completely random nature.
E.g F Gyarados {Lax} [Everstone] + M Gyarados {Quirky} = Magikarp {Lax}
F Gyarados {Lax} [Everstone] + M Gyarados {Quirky} [Everstone] = Magikarp {Lax} OR Magikarp {Quirky}
The other items work with IVs, or individual values. If you want to get into competitive, you probably already know about IVs; if not, @battle-institute has a good page about them.
When two Pokémon breed and one holds a Destiny Knot, the child will inherit five random IVs from among the 12 IVs of the parents. Keep in mind these IVs aren’t guarenteed to be the highest/best ones, nor that they’ll be spread evenly (a child could, for example inherit a No Good Atk IV from one parent and a Very Good Atk IV from another, resulting in the child having either No Good or Very Good as its Atk IV).
Now, if one parent holds a Power item, the child will inherit the corresponding IV from the parent.
Power Bracer for Atk, Power Lens for Sp. Atk, Power Band for Sp. Def, Power Wight for HP, Power Belt for Def, and Power Anklet for Speed.
E.g F Frillish (Max Atk) [Power Bracer] + M Frillish = Frillish (Max Atk)
Anyway, say I want to breed a Klefki with Max IVs in all but Atk. I have a Ditto holding a Destiny Knot with Max IVs in all but Atk and a Klefki with a Max IV in Atk and Def.
If we breed them together, in the absolute best case scenario, we’d get this:
Tumblr media
...of course, this is the absolute best case scenario. Chances are, you won’t get a Kleki that looks like this until you’re many eggs in, and even then, it might not work. You might not even have a Klefki with a Max IV in Atk and Def, or anything at all, in which case you’d have to breed with another Pokémon that does have IVs. Breeding for IVs is an intuitive process, usually, as you want to fill in the gaps, so to speak, with the IVs the Pokémon is lacking. Breeding two Pokémon with six Max IVs, one of which holds a Destiny Knot, will gaurentee at five perfect IVs in the child, but it’s a long road.
If you’re IV breeding, expect to fill lots of boxes with rejects, but persevere. I promise it’ll be worth it in the end.
