I have so many problems with Attack on Titan, but right now I want to talk about the illogical world-building.

Giant creatures who only eat humans and only have one 'Achilles Heel' to take them out. Got it.

And you want to fight them with swords?

How did two swords win? They went through the trouble to build a whole, physics defying harness contraption to make them fly?

There were so many other weapons they could have used if they couldn't get to 'the weak spot.'

Step One, discover electricity. Step Two, build a goddamn fence.

Do they breathe? I don't remember, but poisonous gas. (Not in a civilian setting obviously and you'd need a breathing apparatus.)

Invent the flamethrower.

Too much to ask? Fine, here's some less technical solutions:

Caltrops.

Boiling oil poured over the side of the Wall.

Sulfuric acid and other dangerous chemical compounds that will break down organic matter. (There's gotta be a chemist somewhere here.)

Put spikes on the Wall.

Survey Corps all gathered together in a concentrated group to lure the titans in to a trap...coulda used that tactic to dig a pit trap, no?

Set the titans on fire.

Let's also address the fact the Survey Corps was completely useless by existing as the living embodiment of Einstein's definition of insanity. “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.” That 'brilliant idea' of Armin's where they travel to Shiganshina at night because the titans are less active..............you're telling me....that in a hundred years...nobody else thought of that?!

The government and public were right; they were a strain on resources and brought little benefit to society. If they wanted to be useful, the purpose of the expeditions should've been more forage/hunting based in order to bring food back to a starving populace. And there would have been food. The people of Wall Maria had to abandon their homes within a twelve hour or less span, so there is no conceivable way everyone could have brought all their livestock with them. Survey Corps could've been protecting civilians as they rounded up lost cattle, pigs, chickens, sheep, etc. And Sasha might’ve gone down in history as the greatest Scout of all time.

Another thing that doesn't add up: the textile industry. With as much land as they had, the pasture land food-clothing ratio was not adequate for the population.

There are not enough cows!

Based on available materials, I assume the ODM harness and boots are made of leather. With the limited space for cattle, that supply could not meet the demand at the rate the Scouts were being killed off. (They were definitely recycling dead people's boots and gear.) That's not even taking into account regular people who need footwear or the countless other things that require leather: saddles and other horse tack, gloves, tools, heavy protective aprons for factory workers or smiths, etc.

Cotton requires a long growing season. Do they have that? Linen comes from flax seed. You'd need space to grow that and flax doesn't have much nutritional use other than soup. Same goes for jute. Wool is a possibility, but is everything made of wool? What about silk? Do they have silk worms? What are the wealthy wearing?

We can probably rule out synthetic and mineral fabrics as I don't think they have the technology.

Natural resources: They use firearms and cannons, which means there has to be a sulfur mine somewhere to make gunpowder. Except naturally-occurring sulfur is most commonly found near volcanic regions. Volcano on that island? Maybe, if sulfur was one of the 'resources' the Marley people were after.

Where are they getting the alcohol? There's a food shortage and no sane nation is going to allow citizens to plant vineyards on land that can be used for crops and they're not going to use grain for beer when it could be used for bread. I get there was corruption in the government, but limited space is limited space.

Another thing I would like to point out is no matter how many times the Founding Titan suppressed knowledge of the outside world, any mathematician with enough determination could have gone rogue and calculated the size of their world. Despite what we were told in kindergarten, people did not 'discover' the earth was round when Columbus 'discovered' America and nobody believed the earth was flat. (He also didn't discover America, but that's not what we're here for.) Ancient Greek mathematician, librarian, astronomer, scholar Eratosthenes of Cyrene determined the circumference of the earth by comparing the sun's position in the sky in relation to two different points on earth.

He was off by 2%.

Why is this important? The old order of the Walls was very much greed-based. When word of exactly how much land (and wealth) they were missing out on got out, the merchant guilds would have had their own coup against the king.

the biggest plot hole that i can’t get over in AoT is how the random names the people in paradis come up with for the titans as they discover them (armored, colossal, female, etc) end up being the same names that marley calls them, by… sheer coincidence?

maybe i chalk this up to “it’s armin telling the story for historical records and he’s trying not to be confusing about it”

ever since you began living your double life as both a Marleyan warrior and a soldier in the Survey Corps, Levi has shown a keen interest in you. You’ve noticed it from the start. and given how influential his position is within the military, you recognize an opportunity and decide to seize it for your own advantage.

so the two of you develop something between you. not a relationship, not quite. Levi is too afraid of losing you to allow himself the vulnerability of commitment. still, what matters is that you know he loves you. and he believes, that you love him too.

if only he knew the truth.

and yet, somewhere along the way, you begin to fall for him as well. for his blunt honesty, his hidden soft spot for you, his formidable skill in combat, his weird obsession with cleaning, and even his horrible sense of humor. but more than anything, you fall for him because he never resembles the devils the Marleyans always spoke of when describing the Eldians behind the walls. when you look at him, you don't see any devil, only an angel trapped in this wretched, fucked up world, just like you. even if, deep down, you know you could never call yourself an angel. not by a long shot.

everything seems to be going well, until the chaos with Reiner and Bertholdt erupted, exposing the hidden enemies within their ranks. you join the mission alongside Reiner, Bertholdt, and Ymir to kidnap Eren. and all the while, the thought of Levi haunts you. knowing he’d been injured fighting Annie and isn't here on this mission makes your heart ache with regret. you keep thinking about him, wishing you’d kissed him one more time, confessed that you loved him. truly, unapologetically.

but you know those wishes are too much to hope for, especially now that you’ve betrayed him.

when the troops return, Levi is utterly stunned about the news. It’s as if his heart has been ripped in two, realizing that you were among those who helped slaughter his former squadmates. and to think you were the one who comforted him that night afterward, holding him close while he mourned

God. there are so many things you’ve done to him. the comforting words. the late-night stargazing, dreams of a brighter future, even when it felt impossibly far away.

your kisses. your embraces. your hold. the soft-spoken I love yous.

were all those lies too?

that night, Levi locks himself away in his room.

later, on the mission to reclaim Shiganshina, Levi has secretly hoped he might see you there. he wants to face you, to question you, to look into your eyes and reassure himself that yes, it had all been a lie. that it was just you using him, another piece in your mission’s grand design. but you’re nowhere to be found.

he wonders if you were merely an illusion all along

time presses on. years pass after you leave Paradis Island, spent once again serving under the Marleyan military. you try to bury the memories of him, forcing yourself to believe that Levi must despise you now. of course he does, why wouldn't he? you would too if you were him

until the raid on Liberio. there you stand, ready to fight alongside your comrades against the Survey Corps. and fate, in its cruelest irony, brings the two of you face-to-face once more.

he sees you. and you see him. both of you know there’s no room for hesitation in war. you’re enemies now. and so, against every part of your better judgment, because he’s a fucking Ackerman, for god’s sake, you draw your weapon and hurl yourself toward him

it feels almost like old times, the way you and Levi clash, sparring as you used to, but now, there’s real killing intent beneath every blow. maybe. neither of you seems entirely sure. but as always, he quickly takes control of the fight. in a swift, decisive move, he finds his chance to end it, and to end you.

his blade slices across your side, and you scream, crumpling. and he freezes. damn it. why does he stop?

you collapse to the ground, pain searing through you, while Levi stands there, staring at you with horror written across his face

Fuck you for making him weak. even after years hating how you've betrayed him so profoundly, seeing you wounded, especially by his own hand, makes him falter. it makes him abandon the fight

without a word, Levi turns and disappears into the chaos, leaving you behind. he silently prays that your paths will never cross again. because he knows he can’t afford to hesitate. not one more time.

one event unravels into the next, until finally, the two of you come to an understanding. neither of you is truly in the wrong. whether people of Paradis or Marley, you’re both products of a world steeped in cruelty and chaos. you’ve each been fighting for what you believe in, for causes you can’t simply abandon

so when you, Pieck, and Magath cross paths with Hange and Levi, you almost stumble, stunned by the sight of him. you’ve never seen Levi so vulnerable, his body wrapped in bandages, laying on the makeshift cart with blanket all over his body. what happened to him?

as words pass back and forth between your groups, your mind drifts. the time has come to join forces. cause for now, your goals are aligned. you all want to stop the Rumbling. it’s absurd in its irony… but also a strange relief

your eyes meet his, and Levi’s gray gaze is unreadable before he turns away. you wish, desperately, that he’d look at you again the way he used to.

then the Battle of Heaven and Earth comes. amidst the chaos, you find yourself rescuing Levi as his condition worsens. part of your uniform is torn open, exposing the scar from the wound he gave you that night

he notices it. his eyes flicker to the scar, then quickly look away again. you can't understand his look, and you don’t say anything. you simply help him to safety

for Levi, hurting you had been one thing, but witnessing you transform into a Titan was something else entirely. yet he forces himself to keep moving forward, as he always has, determined to bring the war to its end. and when it’s finally over, he sits there, battered and broken, his leg shattered, ribs cracked, ghosts of fallen comrades swirling through the haze of his eyes

when those ghosts fade, you’re there. standing quietly, looking at him.

this time, Levi doesn’t look away

what does this make the two of you now?

you decide that question can wait.

instead, you walk over, exhausted and wounded, and sink down beside him, leaning back against the same rock, leaving a small space between you

neither of you speaks.

but the silence, for the first time in a long while, is peaceful.

“You look like shit,” Levi mutters, eyes slipping shut.

You let out a sigh, a small smile tugging at your lips as you tilt your head back to gaze at the bright sky. “Not as much as you.”

A faint twitch pulls at the corner of his mouth, and he doesn't say anything as you inch closer.

Why i believe Gojo could come back

This chapter left us in a devastated state and was absolutely uncalled for, but I personally believe this isnt the end of the strongest sorcerer. There are several reasons as to why (These are just opinions, I could be wrong in certain areas AND personal feelings might make an occassional appearance.)

LEAKS:

This whole panel was obviously made for a reason. And we dont see gojo making a decision. Considering the fact that this is literally THE Gojo Satoru, he's more likely to choose north since there's numerous things left as plot holes. We'll get to that.

Here in this page, he mentions that Toji should've cut his head off to actually kill him. In the leaks, whats cut off is his upper body but not the head! I still can't quite wrap my head around RCT but lets say he's not able to heal himself. You know who can and who would? Yuta and Shoko

Now moving on

"Gojo then bids farewell to everyone." If hes truly gone then why would he be bidding farewell to the fallen comrades? If he's dead then isn't he supposed to stay in the afterlife with them?

Pretty self explanatory

What if Kashimo is going in to distract Sukuna while Shoko and Yuta can heal Gojo?

Now think about this. Gojo is gone, Shoko doesnt fight and who are all left? A bunch of sorcerers who are literally under 20, need guidance and we havent really seen any panel where they actually plan how they're going to go about in the whole battle. Gojo isnt a want, hes a NEED, a NECESSITY.

Remember, Toji who was dead long ago pretty much appeared out of nowhere in Shibuya Arc LMAO so- yes

WHAT IS THIS EVEN SUPPOSED TO MEAN

Theres no way Gojo would be left sealed for 3 whole years, brought him back just to kill him off in the most disrespectful way possible.

Besides, things that Gojo wanted to do haven't happened yet.

He wanted to tell megumi about his father

He wanted to see his students surpass the strongest sorcerer, aka him

He wanted to get rid of the higher ups

He wanted to properly mourn suguru (for which kenjaku has to be defeated but oh well)

He wanted to save Megumi

How'd we know what Gojo said here.

On to the other aspects of why killing off Gojo was a bad idea. We barely ever saw what happened to him, and an off screen death to the so called strongest sorcerer is just senseless. Gojo is a fan favourite. People started watching the show for Gojo (myself included) and there's a high possibility of multiple people dropping the manga since he isn't even there anymore.

The ending could take a turn for the worse considering the fact that Sukuna is just overpowered and Kenjaku hasn't done anything as of now. Unless there's some heavy plot armor I dont think the students even stand a chance against Sukuna and Kenjaku. Both outcomes- the students and others emerging as victors or sukuna emerging as a victor could make the ending absolutely terrible and this might as well top AOT for being the manga with the most disliked ending.

Gojo Satoru is the mentor for multiple; for Yuji, Nobara, Megumi, Yuta, Maki, Panda, Toge and the third years and its necessary for them to have someone to teach them. It is one of Satoru's wishes to see his students surpass him, which can happen only when he's there since there's nobody else who is actually capable of teaching them and leading them into the world as actual graduated sorcerers.

So Gojo dying will make the manga take a turn for the worse. Killing him off in the middle makes absolutely no sense and is just plain bad writing. People are prolly gonna kill me for this but lets admit the truth. Hyping this battle, building up tension just to finish him off screen is NOT good writing.

Anyways. There is factual proof of Gojo potentially making a return. Maybe at a cost, like him losing his power, losing his "strongest" title or anything else. He may not even be the same anymore but honestly as long as he's back, I'm fine.

It happened previously, and could happen again.

Satoru Gojo may not be the strongest and the honoured one, but may be reborn as a newer version of himself after getting humbled. Lotuses, as mentioned above symbolise rebirth, which is why i believe this is not the end.

A small bit of advice for gojo fans: Go watch haikyuu or highschool babysitters as a form of self care <3

I know people have various opinions on the AOT ending, and I hated it as soon as I finished it, however as I started to ponder over it, just a day later I came to love it because it leaves enough space for interpretation without leaving any plot holes, it's pretty rare to watch, in fact it probably was my first.

But the one thing I didn't like, in fact hated about the ending was the very last scene where the kid enters the tree with his dog, and even in the final battle, as all the versions of past and (future) titans come in spirit, you can notice a boy and a dog, which is most likely them.

Actually, there is a plot hole if u take it into account, which is one of the reasons I hate the last scene btw, is that animals cannot turn into titans then why did the dog turn into one? But we can still interpret it into thinking it was a version of the beast titan somehow or something, but the thing that seems to bug me the most is why did they have to enter the tree and continue the cycle of titans?

Yes, I know that one of the core points of Attack on Titan is that the cycle never ends, but we're seeing it in real life too, there are so many wars going on even in present day, and even in the AOT universe, war would go on regardless of what you do, regardless of that brief moment of peace, it will go on one way or another. Okay, that's genuinely a nice point because that's the truth of our world but why the titan curse again? It was over, it's ended, it's ended through so much trauma and devastation and it has found closure, then what is the point of continuing the cycle again when there's no point at all? There's so many wars going on either way, we get the point, why the last scene?

Mikasa shouldn't have been written as Ymir's parallel cause it ruined the story

I think Isayama's goal for the last ep or chap was to shoe-horn eremika to sell that Mikasa merch(yes, i am calling it shoe-horning cause there was no compelling build-up. it's so fucking one-sided). It was no longer about the plot or the characters because he threw plot and character consistency out of the window to force Mikasa into becoming a central character (which she's not).

But if he badly wants to make this shit canon, then he could've just not force the Ymir-Mikasa parallel or have Mikasa be the one to free Ymir. I thought it was Eren who freed her but if he wants a fucking parallel give it to another character who would make more sense.

If Isayama really wants Eren to lose and proclaim his love for her, he could have written something like 'Tell Mikasa that I love her and I'm sorry" to Armin. None of that Ymir chose Mikasa bullshit cause only Ymir knows.

Granted this ending wouldn't be perfect. It would be mid, but at least it wouldn't have devolved in aot being about a one-sided love story. If Eren just randomly said he loves Mikasa before dying (without the Ymir-Mikasa parallel bullcrap), I'd find it odd but I'd prob be able to accept it. It would still be odd cause it wasn't established but at least it wouldn't retcon most of the characters and the themes.

Like Isayama wasn't perfect. There are writing choices which I find odd because it wasn't established like aruannie, the Reiner transferring his consciousness in retaking shigashina arc, or Armin not dying after being burned to a crisp and falling from a 50m drop. But I was able to accept it because these did not puncture a plot hole so big that it would make the story contradict itself.

It's so funny that Isayama has to puncture holes into his story to force the relevance of this ship.

Well, one thing keep thinking about, and this is seriously just silly and a bit of a nitpick, is how at the end, when Jean and Connie and every other Eldian that was turned into a titan returned to being human, they should have been naked, lol. I guess the same is true for Eren when Grisha turned him into a titan and then he went back to being human. I don't know if that's so much a plot hole as it is Isayama maybe not being able to draw everyone naked because it would be pushing the censorship on that sort of thing, lol.

Also, I know Isayama said in his most recent interview that the Ackerman's lost their powers with the Titan curse being undone by Ymir, but it still doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me for that to be the case, just because, if Ymir was the source of the Ackerman's powers, then how come she couldn't control them? The entire reason behind the persecution of the Ackerman's was because whoever held the Founding Titan's power had no control over their minds or memories. They couldn't erase their memories like they could with every, other Eldian. So it just doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me that the source of the Ackerman's power came from Ymir. But I suppose that could also be explained away from the vague mention of them being the product of "titan science". Maybe it was a case of whoever engineered the Ackerman's powers somehow tweaking it to severe a direct connection to Ymir or something. But then, again, if that's the case, it seems like her undoing the Titan curse shouldn't have affected the Ackerman's power.

I just think this is one of those things that maybe Isayama didn't put a whole lot of thought into, undoubtedly because the rest of the story is so complex and has so many moving parts and, ultimately, it doesn't really affect the plot too much or have any, real thematic relevance.

Other than that, I don't really think there's any, significant plot holes. AoT is really remarkable for how well both its plot and themes come together and culminate into an overarching message. So I'm not going to criticize Isayama for a few, small issues here and there. Nothing, after all, is perfect.

Little update: my bad for not posting as of yet this month. I made a little promise to myself to at least post two chapters a month but it’s late April and no chapter yet. The next chapter is done, probably have to check the grammar and proofread it, but I like having another chapter ready so I’m not just posting the moment I finish writing a chapter. And well, I’m working on chap. 69 and woah, season four is so confusing to keep up with. There’s so many flashbacks and they’re not all in order considering we have Armin’s telling, Mikasa’s telling, and Eren’s side which no one knows about, and also Y/n’s side. I want to make sure there’s no plot holes and that I’m getting all the info right. Plus, I am writing the flashbacks in a different order from when they are (from when they are being recalled).

I knew this season would be hard, but damn, I keep going onto Reddit to find explanations and timelines. Did you know Eren was in jail for month? And I think Gabi and Falco too…Idk that’s what Reddit is telling me. I had to make my own timeline too because omg…THE AMOUNT of flashbacks I have to include, and not just the cannon ones…

Anyways, I hope to have chapter 68 up before this month ends.

Little life update: I had a major busy weekend. I met Bryce Papenbrook, Eren’s English VA. Jessie James Grelle, Armin’s English VA. Griffin Burns, Colt’s English VA. AND Romy Park, Hange’s Japanese VA!!!!! All of these people were so sweet and kind. Especially Papenbrook! I also went to the AOT (i think it’s called) Beyond the Walls, Orchestra concert! I’m definitely fueled up to write aot content.

For my absence I have this. Gabi having a nightmare/ dream where she is going to defeat the evils of the Jaeger twins and avenge Falco who has been turned into a shifter by the devils of Paradis. What can be taken from this is that Y/n has a messy appearance going forth season four. (She has no strict description in the fic, ofc.)

amazing chapter!!! Firstly enjoy the bit with Primus giving there weapon and them freaking out, I’m glad that Primus help them made peace, wish there was a bit with Lara. Love how Primus is still keep the level of disdain with Eren, also thank you!! With the trio’s discussion, like damn Eren is his worst enemy. Glad that Mikasa and armin came to terms and stopped defending him, also f*ck, he loved her but want freedom more (imagine what happened if they know what he did to his mother😬)

I’d figure that founder yimr and Mikasa will be in the touched. And armin discussion with Primus jeez the brass on this kid. Interesting that Primus showed armin the other and original timeline. ( I figured he would have a mental breakdown on predetermined fate)

liked pieck’s moment, the emotional goodbye. Returning to the living world the burning of the scarf was good. Finally the segment with Optimus and Megatron short but gut wrenching. Ratchet and bulk only saw prime scream in frustration but this… nah. Over all this chapter gave what wanted and what I did think I want 😁

I'll probably have Primus talking to other people in prompts asks or a mini anthology. I'm not sure yet. We'll see what happens.

And yes, Primus still hates Eren's guts because Primus gave Eren and option and Eren chose genocide. He's not going to forgive that. Despite the fact that he refers to Unicron as brother and feels lament over their degraded relationship, Primus acknowledged he was committing genocide and took action. There's no exception with Eren. And yes, Eren is a slave to freedom and it ends up destroying him and the relationships that he had!

But in regards to Eren taking out his own mom in the manga and anime, it just felt like both a plot hole and one final twist that Isayama was trying to make and we only had one hint towards Eren's interference, but that could easily be chalked up to Dina's titan being an abnormal. Carla's death is strictly happenstance in AOP.

Mikasa and Ymir's connection in AOT was...weird. Because many of us were led to believe that Ymir was waiting for Eren to release her from the power of the titans, but it turned out she was waiting for Mikasa to release her because she saw how Mikasa was able to let go of Eren, allowing Ymir to let go of Fritz because she was in love with him and served him because she loved him. The analysis and criticism has already been done, but it definitely felt rushed and out of nowhere for me. I do have Ymir look at Mikasa letting Eren go, implying Ymir's feelings towards Fritz, but just didn't outright say it.

And Armin and Primus' conversation, oh boy! That's a can of worms there! The conversation was going to go very differently, but as I was writing this chapter, I got creative and I thought that Armin, dealing with both Optimus and Megatron, and the loss of Eren, while also learning that Primus had a hand in the Rumbling happening, deserved to know what Primus saw. There were also a lot of people in the comments calling out Primus and calling him hypocritical for letting genocide happen. So I have to explain that things are not that simple. Primus doesn't want to impose control and take away freewill to obtain peace. Even if he did do that, he would only be able to affect the Eldian people, not everyone else. He can't change the minds of the Marleyans. Additionally, altering the fabric of time puts the whole universe at risk and he can't do that. If Primus had the opportunity to make the Peaceful Timeline a reality, he would do it in a heartbeat. Also additionally, Primus showed Armin glimpses of these alternate timelines, not the whole thing.

But the reason why Armin didn't break when shown alternate timelines was simply how he reacted in the anime. When Eren told Armin the truth, Armin was understandably angry at Eren, and as he wept, he still clung onto the idea of hope. That hope does exist and it could be used to change the heart and minds of the people into creating a peaceful world. And the fact that Primus with his all seeing power still can't find another solution to the madness he claims he wants to stop? What does that make him? Also, Armin has been dealing with Megatron's bullshit for four years along with immense amounts of trauma. He's not about to buckle to god when he's been through hell.

Also, Pieck deserved an explanation for everything Primus unintentionally put her through. And Primus of course has to make a grand gesture when ending the power of the titans. And in regards to the end, if you haven't seen this ask telling you to listen to the song while reading the ending, I recommend that you do.

I would sooner throw myself in the path of a speeding car. The ending is still a horrendous finish that doesn't begin to make up for so many plot holes and half assed resolutions that carried over from the manga ending.

You cannot hide its failings with Mappa's overblown, still rather ugly animation and self aggrandizing music.

Also fuck you Isayama, my girls Sasha and Hange should NEVER have been subjected to that kind of finish. Everyone deserves better.

No, really, take a look at it.

For at 17:23 CEST, on September 23rd of the Year of our Lord 2023, I have finished the first draft of the 15th and last installment of Clarity.

Peeps, I am grieving.

When I set out to put this story into words, I had never written anything beyond 10K. The idea of doing a chaptered story, a slow burn at that, was so foreign to me. I was convinced I'd either solve the plot in 3-4 chapters or, as it's happened to me in the past, I'd lose faith in the story and ditch it, and it'd become one of those abandoned fics we all hate to love.

It wasn't easy, not just because I'm writing in a language not my own. Some of the scenes I'd played dozens of times in my mind before sitting to write them, and then they would... jut not come out? Emotionally charged scenes drain me; Blorbo's feels are my feels. I felt insecure about a myriad things that I'm not experienced about, or didn't do the research about, or just plain thought were too silly or self indulgent for others to like.

I got caught in the rabbit whole of worldbuilding, and created props and hid them as easter eggs and no one but one person found them but I had a blast anyhow.

I got also caught in the rabbit hole of tea and drank a ridiculous amount of it to create a menu and make it more than just a character quirk.

I had lots of fum coming up with the fake preview posts before every chapter (did you getthe hidden message in the last one? did you?)

Most of all, I rekindled my love of writing and I've found amazing people in the fandom, fellow delulus from all around the globe who support and inspire each other and (gasp!) even liked my fic.

Thank you all who accompanied me in this amazing journey, be it by reading, commenting, kudosing, or just supporting me with likes and reblogs here. BOTH SO TRUE like karasu analyzes people for fun he’s clocking otoya IMMEDIATELY LMAOAO and omg i was working on hollyhock a bit earlier and karasu finally showed up and i started tweaking because i need him…it’s so hard writing for his bff when he’s right there 😭 the only consolation is that he and y/n’s relationship in hollyhock is at least super relevant to the story though it’s not romantic. he’s based on hideyoshi to the extent that y/n is based on nobunaga (so not a TON but def to a certain extent) and like. ugh i can’t spoil so i’ll just leave it at they are soooo important (to me and to the plot in general).

that’s my fav way to write canon fics!! i like filling in holes in stories even if they’re not necessarily PLOT holes — just things mentioned in passing that i can expand on in my own way. i’ve done it a few times w aot and also w jjk!! i think it’s why coming up w a bllk longfic idea took me a while…the scope of the “world” is relatively limited so it’s hard to expand on it in a natural way. plus i only write female main characters and ah. well. canon bllk is not exactly an inviting atmosphere for women as we know 😫
