How to Self-Study Any AP Course

If you're a high school student, chances are you are taking or planning to take an AP course. AP courses are a fantastic way gain college credit, as well as adding an impressive aspect to your school resume. But what do you do if your school doesn't offer any AP's??? The answer is to self-study!!!
What is Self-Study
Self-study is the process of independently preparing got an Advanced Placement (AP) exam without taking the corresponding AP course offered at the high school. This approach is often chosen by students who:
Have a strong interest in a subject not offered as an AP course at their school.
Want to earn a college credit or demonstrate academic rigor in areas outside their formal coursework.
Feel confident in their ability to learn independently and manage their own study schedule.
If you fit any of those three listed reasons, self-study may be the right path for you!
How to Sign up for Self- Study
Step 1: Figure out what you would like to study. Visit the College Board website and look under APs to see all the exams that are offered. Here you can also find unit break downs of the course that you would like to take, as well as the exam date, and much more information regarding the exam.
https://apstudents.collegeboard.org/courses
Step 2: Email your Guidance counselor or AP coordinator. This is how you will officially register for your exam. Once you get in contact with one of them, you will pay your registration fee that will arrive via mail.
Step 3: Begin studying!! I would like to add that when you sign up for an AP exam, you gain access to the AP Classroom tool from College Board. Although this is useful, when you self-study, there is a chance that you will not be assigned any coursework. Therefore, you will only have access to the rather short AP Daily videos. I find that these videos do not cover everything that you need to know for your exam. Which is why it is crucial that you have the resources listed below to be successful.
How to Successfully Self Study
Online courses. Online courses are the best and most useful resource for self-study. There are tons of websites with free tools that can be used to learn course content. In my opinion, the best being Khan Academy. Khan Academy is the official practice partner for AP and has in depth course lessons for a plethora of AP courses, including AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC, AP Statistics, AP US History, AP Physics 1, AP Physics 2, AP Chemistry, AP Biology, AP Macroeconomics, and AP Microeconomics. Learn more with this link:
https://blog.khanacademy.org/khan-academy-is-the-official-practice-partner-for/
Another website that I personally love is IITian Academy. IITian Academy offers exam style questions and high-quality resources that are for the most part free. Under the AP tab of their website, you can find exam style question banks with solutions, concise summary notes, mock exams and past exam papers for the following courses: AP Physics 1 Algebra-Based, AP Physics 2 Algebra-Based, AP Physics C Electricity and Magnetism, AP Physics C Mechanics, AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC, and AP Statistics. In my opinion, the most useful tool is the concise summary notes. They may be a summary but are by no means undetailed. Copying down notes from IITian Academy allows you to not have to scramble to figure out what you should right down and what you should just keep in your memory. Learn more with this link:
https://www.iitianacademy.com/ap-exam/
Dedicate Time to Study. It is important to find time to properly learn the material. In my opinion, it is best to have a time during the day where there is nothing going on to just copy notes. Whether that be a study hall/ study period, after school, or even a less rigorous class where you can be off doing your own thing. If your afternoon schedule is packed with extracurriculars or work, try to find time during the school day. In my case, I have plenty of afternoon time to dedicate to self-study. One way I like to make studying feel less like studying, is to put on a show while I study. the material does not have to be the forefront of your focus when you are writing notes initially. For me, it's best to put the material into my passive memory until I am finished note taking so I can go back in later to thoroughly read them. But until then, I have my show on, or TikTok open.
Actively review material. Actively reviewing ensures that you are keeping the information that you are learning fresh. Practice questions can help you figure out how well you can recall a specific unit or subject, and what you need to work on. From there, you can take note of what you need to review and go back to that topic. The websites listed in the Online resources section have topic specific practice questions available.
Practice Exams. When you finish learning the course material, take practice exams to assess what topics you need to work on overall as well as getting used to the time restrictions of the exam. these can be found in physical review books as well as online. My personal favorite website for practice exams is Barron's. Once you sign up for free, you will have access to Barrons Online Learning Hub, where you can register and gain free access to timed and untimed practice exams.
https://www.barronseduc.com
Another website that has full practice exams is CrackAP.com. Keep in mind that this website only offers the pdf version of past exams, which means you will have to manually grade the exam, as well as time yourself with a manual timer.
https://www.crackap.com/index.html
Prep Books. Prep books give great targeted exercise for your upcoming exam. Depending on the prep book that you get, it may have key concepts that show up in the exam, and what material is more important than others. That way you can make it a point to pay attention. I recommend the Pearson Education Test Prep Series. Pearson Education Prep books offer detailed explanations of what is most crucial to know for your upcoming exam.
YouTube videos. You can find almost anything on YouTube. That includes unit summaries for each unit of your subject. It is also helpful for breaking down the most complex of topics. I recommend this for when no matter how hard you try, you just cannot understand a particular topic and need it to be thoroughly explained.
Conclusion
It is important to be aware of the opportunities that are available to you in order to succeed. Even if your school does not offer AP courses or does not offer the particular course that you would like to take, or simply because you feel that you would learn better independently, self-study is a viable option not matter where you are or what circumstances.

Mastering AP Tests Preparation in Dubai and the UAE
The Advanced Placement (AP) program is a prestigious educational initiative that offers high school students the opportunity to earn college credits while still in secondary school. As more students in Dubai and the wider UAE seek to enhance their academic profiles and gain an edge in college admissions, effective ap tests preparation dubai has become crucial. This article will explore strategies and resources available for students in the region looking to excel in their AP exams.
To start, understanding the AP curriculum is vital. AP courses are designed to mirror college-level coursework, providing students with a rigorous academic experience. In Dubai, many international schools offer a variety of AP subjects, ranging from AP Calculus and AP Biology to AP English Literature and AP Psychology. Students should begin their AP journey by selecting courses that align with their academic strengths and future college goals. Consulting with academic advisors can help ensure that students are on the right path.
One of the key components of successful AP tests preparation in Dubai is creating a structured study plan. This plan should incorporate regular study sessions, practice exams, and revision periods. Students should allocate specific times each week to focus on their AP subjects, ensuring they cover all necessary material well before the exam dates. Additionally, utilizing a mix of study methods—such as reading textbooks, attending review sessions, and using online resources—can enhance understanding and retention of information.
In the UAE, numerous tutoring centers and online platforms specialize in AP tests preparation. These resources can provide personalized instruction and targeted practice, catering to the individual needs of students. For example, many tutoring centers in Dubai offer comprehensive AP courses that include interactive lessons, practice tests, and one-on-one support from experienced educators. These programs can be particularly beneficial for students who may struggle with self-study or who need additional help to master complex topics.
Furthermore, forming study groups can be an effective strategy for ap tests preparation uae. Collaborating with peers allows students to discuss challenging concepts, share resources, and quiz each other on key topics. Study groups can also provide motivation and accountability, making the preparation process more enjoyable and less isolating.
In addition to traditional study methods, utilizing online resources can greatly enhance AP tests preparation in Dubai. Websites such as AP Classroom and Khan Academy offer a wealth of practice materials, instructional videos, and diagnostic quizzes that can help students identify their strengths and weaknesses. By integrating these online tools into their study routine, students can create a well-rounded approach to their preparation.
Another essential aspect of AP tests preparation in the UAE is familiarizing oneself with the exam format. Understanding the structure of AP tests, including the types of questions and time constraints, can help students manage their time effectively during the exam. Many practice exams replicate the official testing experience, providing invaluable insights into pacing and question styles. Students should take advantage of these resources to build confidence and reduce test-day anxiety.
As exam day approaches, students should also prioritize their well-being. Adequate rest, nutrition, and stress management techniques are vital for peak performance. Engaging in regular physical activity and practicing mindfulness or relaxation exercises can help maintain a positive mindset and improve focus.
In conclusion, effective AP tests preparation in Dubai and the UAE involves a combination of structured study plans, access to quality resources, and a focus on well-being. By leveraging local tutoring options, online platforms, and collaborative study methods, students can maximize their chances of success on AP exams. With dedication and the right strategies, they can achieve their academic goals and open doors to future opportunities in higher education.

Mastering Calculus from Anywhere: The Power of Virtual Calculus Tutors
Calculus, often hailed as the pinnacle of high school or college mathematics, is a subject that can be both exhilarating and daunting. From limits and derivatives to integrals and differential equations, mastering calculus requires not only understanding but also practice and guidance. However, with the rise of virtual education and online resources, students now have access to a powerful tool for conquering calculus: virtual calculus tutors.
Virtual Calculus Tutor in USA offer a dynamic and flexible approach to learning, providing students with personalized instruction and support from the comfort of their own homes. Through video conferencing platforms, interactive whiteboards, and digital tools, these tutors can effectively replicate the experience of one-on-one tutoring sessions traditionally held in person. This accessibility is especially beneficial for students with busy schedules, remote learners, or those seeking additional support outside of the classroom.
One of the primary advantages of virtual calculus tutors is the ability to connect with expert instructors from anywhere in the world. Whether you're located in a bustling metropolis or a rural town, access to quality education is no longer limited by geographical constraints. Students can choose from a diverse pool of tutors based on their expertise, teaching style, and availability, ensuring a tailored learning experience that suits their individual needs and preferences.
Moreover, virtual calculus tutors offer flexibility in scheduling, allowing students to arrange sessions at times that are convenient for them. This flexibility is particularly advantageous for students juggling academic commitments, extracurricular activities, or part-time jobs. With the ability to schedule sessions outside of regular school hours, students can receive the support they need without disrupting their daily routines or sacrificing other priorities.
Another key benefit of virtual calculus tutors is their ability to leverage technology to enhance the learning process. Through digital whiteboards, screen-sharing capabilities, and interactive learning modules, tutors can create engaging and interactive lessons that cater to different learning styles. Visual learners may benefit from graphical representations of calculus concepts, while auditory learners may prefer verbal explanations and discussions. Virtual tutors can adapt their teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning preferences, ensuring that every student has the opportunity to succeed.
Furthermore, virtual calculus tutors offer a level of individualized attention that may be challenging to achieve in a traditional classroom setting. With smaller class sizes and personalized lesson plans, tutors can identify each student's strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement. Whether it's clarifying difficult concepts, providing additional practice problems, or offering targeted feedback, virtual tutors can tailor their instruction to address the specific needs of each student, fostering deeper understanding and mastery of calculus principles.
For students preparing for standardized tests such as the SAT or AP Calculus exams, virtual calculus tutors can provide invaluable support and guidance. Tutors with expertise in test preparation can offer strategies for tackling challenging questions, familiarize students with exam formats and time constraints, and administer practice tests to assess progress. By simulating exam conditions and providing targeted instruction, virtual tutors can help students build confidence and achieve their desired scores.
In conclusion, virtual calculus tutors offer a convenient, flexible, and effective solution for students seeking to master calculus concepts. By leveraging technology, personalized instruction, and individualized support, these tutors empower students to succeed academically and reach their full potential in mathematics. Whether you're a high school student struggling with derivatives or a college student preparing for advanced calculus courses, virtual tutors can provide the guidance and expertise needed to excel in this challenging subject. With virtual calculus tutors, the journey to calculus mastery is just a click away.

AU “What are you doing inside my head?” “You can hear me too?”
Part 1
Part 2
(Dialogue “.....” Thoughts ‘...’)
It’s 14th September, fall quarter in Kyoto High School. The Senior year is stressful with making decisions about your future and preparing for exams which will decide your future. Surprise, surprise I do not use my “super powers” to cheat during tests. Okay, maybe sometimes, but not intentionally. I still can not control my mind that well to not hear other people’s thoughts, so now and then I hear some answers during tests. However, I try my best to not, therefore I study hard in order to finish test as quickly as I can that I do not hear other people.
Summer before a senior year was a wonderful time. I spent time with my family and friends. My friend Yerim (our friend group gave her a nickname Choerry, but she doesn’t like it, we still call her that to annoy her) and I went to Osaka for a week and to Tokyo for four days. We had so much fun and looked at some universities. But, summer ended and it is school-time.
I’m a morning person; I enjoy waking up before sunrise, make myself cup of coffee and watch it rises. Kyoto may be not a big city full of life, but it has it charms, and beautiful sunrises, and sunsets. The alarm rings at 5:40 a.m. I wake up really early because school starts at 8, and I take a train to get there.
I’m going straight to the bathroom to wash my face, brush my teeth and do my “skin care” (wash my face with the cleanser, put some toner on, and apply a moisturizer). My hair do not want to cooperate with me most of the time, so I just to try to make them look decent by brushing them. Done with the bathroom.
Uniform is ready and hanging in the closet. I do not really like wearing uniform but at least I don’t need to think what to wear everyday.
“Luna, breakfast is ready,” Mina says while banging on my door.
“Okay, okay stop banging. I’m coming.”
Just need to grab my backpack and my phone. While coming down the stairs I can hear mom thinking, ‘I need to make list of groceries to get for the dinner, and Minhuyng will pick up Mina from school today.’
“Good morning, mom. Good morning, dad.”
“Good morning, Luna. Please don’t forget to feed Starlight.”
“Okay, mom.”
Starlight is our cat. She is very very white, so we named her starlight.
“Dad, can we go to the comics store after school?” Mina asked.
“Sure, only if you help your mom to wash dishes.”
“Okay.”
Wow, this girl is obsessed with comics. She got passion.
“I will be home late, me and Yerim are going to the library after school to work on our science project.”
“Okay, just be careful and don’t be late for a dinner.”
“No problem, Ma.”
All of us were finishing our breakfast. And randomly dad’s thoughts popped out in my head, ‘ I need to ask Luna what to buy for Yoona’s birthday.’
I wish I could just send a message to my dad through telepathy, however, it doesn’t work like that. Every time I hear something, but people don’t hear me back. I will just tell dad later what mom wants.
It’s 7:20 I need to head out. Grab my coffee with me and go to the train station.
“Bye everyone, I already need to go!”
“Bye!”
“Good luck at school!”
I hope Yerim won’t be late again, we all the time meet each other at the train station.
I get there and of course this girl is not there yet. If we are late because of her I will murder her. Oh, I see that purple head.
“Choerry you are late again!”
“I’m sorry my brother is a dickhead and was in the bathroom for an hour, so I couldn’t even wash my face.”
Yerim thought to herself, ‘She knows I hate when she calls me Choerry. This girl will kill me one day.’
Yeah, she gets annoyed because of Choerry, but she knows I call her like that only when I’m “mad” at her.
“No worries, Yerim. We will just kill your brother and bury him in you backyard.”
“Please do so. He is just too much sometimes.”
“Our train should come in 5 minutes.”
“Good, I was so scared that you will leave without me and I will be late.”
“I would.”
“Wow. Luna, you are so mean!”
“You know I’m joking.”
“Of course, I do. After 5 years of friendship I know everything about you.”
The train came and we got inside. I don’t like to sit on the train, so me and Yerim stand next to the doors.
“Your purple hair is fading.”
“I know, they’re more pinkish right now. Are you going dye yours?”
“Mmmm I don’t know yet, I’m okay with brown for now.”
“You should go blonde.”
“I will think about it.”
I try to not hear Yerim’s thoughts, but I feel more comfortable to hear hers than some strangers on the train. ‘There are some boys from our school.’ I turned around and saw Hyunjin and Jisung from our school at the back of the train.
I said, “I didn’t know Hyunjin and Jisung take the same train as us.”
“Me either. We have been taking this train for four years and I have never seen them.”
“Maybe we just never recognized.”
“Probably. By the way did you read Nietzsche for supplement resource for philosophy.”
“Yeah, I tried to read in Japanese, but end up reading in English because translation was bad.”
“I wish my English was as good as yours. I didn’t understand shit.”
“I will help you during lunch.”
“What would I do without you, Luna?”
“I don’t know either.”
“Bruh.”
We ended up laughing.
It is our train station. We got out from the train and started waking to school.
“How’s student government?” Yerim asked.
“It’s okay, Seungmin is on mine and Ryujin’ asses.” I’m in the student government as the club in my school. It is pretty fun, but most importantly it looks good in college applications. Seungmin is the president, me and Ryujin are Vice Presidents, Sumin is the secretary, and Jaemin is the treasurer and marketing “manager”.
“Knowing Seungmin, he is.”
“Yeah, he takes his job seriously, him and Ryujin argue all the time about whose idea is better, and I’m their buffer. It’s funny to witness those fights.”
“We almost at school. I’m not ready for the morning Calculus.”
“I have AP-Calculus and still don’t know how I ended up there. I hate math.”
“It’s a mystery.”
I can see the gates of the school already. We come inside of the school and go right to the lockers.
My head gets flooded with people’s voices.
‘I forgot to do my homework. Shit.’
‘I can’t believe my parents grounded me.’
‘Where is Jisung? I need this hamster.’
Oh, that was probably Seungmin. He all the time calls Jisung hamster. I turn around and see at the end of the hallway, Seungmin. His eyes searching around for Jisung.
“Okay, you better help me with philosophy homework because Lia got sick, so you are the only English genius I know, and that dude Nietzsche doesn’t make sense in Japanese.” Ryujin says when she walks up to mine and her locker.
“Wow, so I will have a whole lecture during lunch I guess.”
“Please do.”
“Yeah, I didn’t understand it either,” Yerim says.
We part with Yerim. I and Ryujin have AP together while Yerim has calculus.
We walk into the classroom. There is not a lot of people who take AP. It’s me, Ryujin, Seungmin, Jisung, Hyunjin, Lia, and Yeji.
I sit with Ryujin on the 3rd desk.
“I have some cheeseme (tea) to spill.”
“Oh wow I’m intrigued.”
“I will tell you during lunch.”
“Okay. You spill some cheeseme and I will lecture you and Yerim.”
“Deal.”
Mr. Chen comes into the classroom and bell rings.
“Good morning, guys. Today we will start new lesson, but first we will look at the problem on page 35.” I open my textbook on page 35 and Mr. Chen starts solving the problem on the desk in order to give is an example. Everyone is quiet. I write down the example on mine notebook.
‘Fuck, I will kill Felix and Jisung. Why the hell they posted this video.’
Who was that. I look around and think on who might thought of it. It might be Seungmin or Hyunjin.
‘Seungmin will probably help me to kill them.’
Okay, that was easy to figure out. What did they do to make him so mad.
‘What?’
Mr. Chen was done with the example, so I started to copy notes from the board.
‘That’s stuff is confusing.’
Agree with that indeed.
‘What are you doing inside my head? Who are you?’
‘You can hear me too...’

How I Do School
Hey there friends! This year I’m a senior, and I’m homeschooling for the first time partially so I could explore my interests further and partially so I could do everything I can now so I can save money for college. For that reason, my curriculum looks a bit different than what it would look like if I was at a traditional high school. I figured maybe some people would be sorta interested in how I’m going about my classes, so here ya go!
College Classes
First off, I'm taking a couple of classes at my local university. The two classes I'm taking are College Writing and Music History and Appreciation, both of which satisfy general education requirements. This is great because in my state, high school students are allowed to take up to 6 credits at public universities tuition free, only having to pay for fees and textbooks (which came out to about 350 bucks for me this year). If I'm smart when I choose classes, I'm able to start college with 12 credits under my belt, from the university I plan on going to, which is a life saver for someone like me, who is going to be paying for college entirely by themself.
Mathematics
Math is one of my favorite subjects by far (for a long time I thought it was going to be my major). The resources I'm using are a textbook I downloaded off the world wide web as well as Khan Academy for AP Calculus BC. I'm also working through a book called Mathematics for the Nonmathematician,, which is a math curriculum that emphasized history as well, which I'm super into.
Environmental Science
Environmental Science is one of my intended majors when I enter college, so I intend on taking the AP exam in the spring. For this, I also downloaded a textbook off the internet, but more excitingly, I plan on reaching out to a scientist at my local university who I met over the summer who does water quality research to see if I can hangout sometime and possible help.
Journalism
This one is pretty easy for me to integrate into my life, because I sort've do it anyways as a producer at my local radio station, but I plan on working on more news stories and making them of high quality, specifically working on edited pieces rather than all live stuff.
Music
This is where I might be the most excited. I'm doing a lot of stuff. Actually, I think it would be easier if I just made it a list:
I'm taking voice lessons for the first time ever!
I'm going to choose one (or two) of the instruments I own and work on getting better at them (it's probably going to be my guitar and my harmonica).
I'm going to finish the songs I've started and hopely perform them at an open mic I frequent.
I'm going to keep going to a ton of shows, but I more diverse range of shows (I go to a lot of punk shows, but I want to visit my city's symphony more frequently now that I get a college student discount).
Art
In general I want to just make more art, but my focus is going to be in figure drawing. I've never been a drawer, but the urge to draw women has been real lately. I'm starting with drawabox.com, and I'm not sure where I'm going to go from there but we'll see!
Computer Science
I am SO hyped for compsci this year! Last year when I took compsci, we worked on some linguistic-y stuff, creating a program that could be given sentences that fit a certain structure, and be able to pull information out of, and be able to ask it questions. This year, I want to expand that enough so that it could "read" a novel and pull out information like the main characters and major themes. If I really get it off the ground, I might consider registering for my states science fair!
Those are all my major classes (the only one I left out is Religious Studies, but if you're really interested in that and I can fill you in/add it to the post). I hope that was relatively interesting. If you want to keep up with all the stuff I'm doing, make sure you follow me (I follow back from @mathpunsaresin).

How to Conquer A Math Class
hey everyone, thanks for 4k followers! time to celebrate with masterposts. Btw, thanks to @coco-study for the pink calculator icon :) lets get it poppin’
Disclaimer: ya girl is trash at math but uh...i’ve made it this far and this is all based on personal experience ;; hopefully it helps!
1. Know your learning style and use it to your advantage.
There are believed to be 4 learning types: read/write, auditory, kinesthetic, and visual. If you do not know your learning type, find out here! Note: most people usually don’t have one learning type, one is just more dominant than another. Here are some tips tailored to your learning type:
Read/Write: copy your notes, try reading the textbook, rewrite all practice problems, try to condense all the important information onto one sheet.
Auditory: listen to lectures, read your lecture notes aloud and record yourself so you can listen to it later, talk yourself through how to do the problem (i.e., I do the power rule which is multiplying the coefficient by the power, then...), participate in class discussions
Kinesthetic: find ways to apply the concepts to real life, walk around or move while reviewing notes/practice problems, chew gum while doing practice problems, teach others.
2. Complete math homework as soon as you can after lecture.
On my first Calculus 2 exam, I got a 42% big yikes. My class was Mon/Tue/Thur and I wasn’t doing my homework for last week’s lesson until the night it was due, Monday nights. I realized that this probably wasn’t effective and began to do my math homework the night after the lesson was taught on a huge whiteboard in an empty classroom. My next test score was 68%. Talk about character development!
3. And if you can’t do your homework within a few hours of lecture, review and annotate your notes.
Even after I adapted my study habits for math after my first exam, there were still days when I didn’t have the time to do my homework afterwards or I just didn’t feel like it. So, I would go through my notes and annotate them, explaining in further depth how to complete a problem or just coming up with general steps for problems of that type. I would also identify any questions I had and make a note to get an answer in the next lecture or at office hours.
4. Use other resources outside of your class to study/review!
My math professor this semester wasn’t terrible, but I just didn’t learn the way he taught. This semester was a lot of self-learning through other resources. My top ones were Professor Leonard, Khan Academy, Pauls Online Math Notes, and Symbolab. I’m pretty sure Chegg will make this list once I find someone to split it with lmao
Not only do those resources help me a TON, but I also just type in the topic and see what other colleges’ resources come up. Half the time, I end up on UC Berkeley’s math notes page and its great. Or a high school AP teacher’s math page.
Exposing yourself to other notes will also diversify your math palette on how many types of problems you can do, ranging in difficulty and types of numbers you could encounter.
5. Have two separate notebooks: one for in class lecture notes, one for rewritten lecture notes and homework.
GOD, I wish I had done this for Fall 2018 because sHEESh but I’m going to do this for next semester. Doing this will give you the space to have messy notes, then reorganize them without wasting loose leaf paper. And it will just help you keep all of your neat, understandable notes in one place without needing an extra folder, binder, etc.
6. Try to change your relationship with math.
Okay, to be quite f*****g honest, I can’t stand math. BUT, I have to work on my mindset because as long as I continue to believe that I am bad at it/ that math is hard/that math is pointless/WHATEVER, I will always let it win. So, if this is how you feel, try to see it as something that is interesting and try to find the fun in it. Math is universal and that’s a beautiful thing. Its like food but lowkey way less enjoyable (see, gotta change the mindset). Its all mental.
i hope this was somewhat helpful and please send me an ask if you have any questions about math classes and such! more masterposts to come and thank you so much for 4k followers :)

usefulness of khan academy
7/26/2017
during my junior year of high school, I was introduced to a phenomenal learning program called khan academy by a counselor of mine. i’m pretty sure most students have heard of it since it’s been around for ten years, but i’m not convinced about if it’s widely known of how useful khan acdemy is. beyond its surface subjects, you can find lessons for tons of subjects and tests (and it's free!)
the novelties
math: includes collegiate level mathematics like multivariable calculus, differential equations, & linear algebra
science: cosmology & astronomy includes cosmo & astro and a little bit of environmental science & geology
science: health & medicine is great for an anatomy & physiology class, and the NCLEX-RN is also amazing for an anatomy class- great pair
science: electrical engineering is great for an intro to elec engineering
science: organic chem - speaks for itself
computing: learn how to code, program, and animate
grammar: I’m currently using the grammar section to prep for ACT English. great if you need to brush up on grammar rules!
econ: Macro, micro, & finance!
SAT: obviously can be used for SAT prep, but also for ACT prep! types of questions might be different but it’s great for practice in the ACT Math content areas- pre-algebra, elementary & intermediate algebra, trig, and plane & coordinate geometry
MCAT: I personally believe that the MCAT section on khan academy is a juggernaut- huge amount of resources in this test prep- review of bio, chem, and physics, has psychology & sociology lessons available, i used the MCAT section to understand positive and negative reinforcement and punishment in psych.
there’s also separate sections for AP Physics 1&2, AP Bio, AP Chem, AP US History and info on entrepreneurship! just remember that khan acdemy is not for in depth studying in most subject areas, it’s great for general or supplemental notes! i hope this helps someone! happy studying! :)
