Maggie thinks she can teach Artur to cuss and blame Fuse so that she can get him in trouble with Hound, but Fuse thinks he that Artur learned it from him cause he actually cusses a lot around Artur, as soon as Fuse says a “bad word” he panics and hopes Artur wasn’t listening. Meanwhile Artur knows all the cuss words cause BloodHound cusses like no one’s business when they’re alone with Artur
#apex legends#fusehound#Maggie is some what ok with Fuse again#Everyone thinks they taught Artur#but really#BllodHound knows it themselves#but will take it to the grave#Artur is a little shit#and we love him for it

this whole essay is a delight, focusing in the latter half on a pretty remarkable-sounding midwest orchestra
but i also enjoyed its brief sweeping overview of History I Knew Very Little About
In fact, the late Gilded Age charts the apex of classical music in America. Its central mission—which turned diffuse and subsidiary after World War I—was the creation of an American canon of symphonies, sonatas, and concertos. Its institutional embodiment was the concert orchestra—virtually an American invention, in contradistinction to the pit orchestras of the European opera house. Its prophet was the conductor Theodore Thomas, whose pioneering Thomas Orchestra plied the “Thomas Highway” north to south and coast to coast. Thomas preached: “A symphony orchestra shows the culture of the community, not opera.” Opera connoted theaters with balconies hosting rowdies and morally suspect companions. Orchestras connoted Beethoven: a moral lodestar. Thomas called his concerts “sermons in tones.” He became founding music director of the Chicago Orchestra—today the Chicago Symphony—in 1891. Thomas is one of two individuals most responsible for implanting classical music in American soil. The other was Henry Higginson, the banker who invented, owned, and operated the Boston Symphony Orchestra beginning in 1881. Higginson was no Brahmin snob. As a music student in Vienna, he could not afford three meals a day. A trained musician, an impassioned music lover, he resolved to create a permanent orchestra for the city he had early made his home. He was practical, openhearted, widely experienced in many walks of life, rich in friendships, quickly susceptible to profound feeling. Of the slow variations capping the finale of Beethoven’s Eroica Symphony, he wrote, “The gates of Heaven open, and we see the angels singing and reaching their hands to us with perfect welcome. No words are of any avail, and never does that passage of entire relief and joy come to me without tears—and I wait for it through life, and hear it, and wonder.” The Boston Symphony’s first home was the drafty Music Hall. Higginson replaced it in 1900 with the acoustically superb Symphony Hall—the orchestra’s home to this day. Its functional New England plainness is democratic: there are no boxes. And Higginson from the start set aside 25-cent tickets for nonsubscribers. Symphony Hall’s sense of place, honoring Boston’s awareness of history and of its Puritan legacy, contributed to the fulfillment of Theodore Thomas’s credo: Boston’s symphony showed “the culture of the community.” It was—a distinction unknown today in the American arts—the city’s central, centralizing civic institution. Isabella Stewart Gardner, the Back Bay queen bee who was herself a reckonable force in the city’s musical life, sometimes turned up with a Boston Red Sox headband. Important local composers—George Whitefield Chadwick, Arthur Foote, Amy Beach—were Symphony Hall fixtures, both in the house and on the stage. When Artur Nikisch led Beethoven’s Fifth in a reading more flexibly Romantic than Bostonians were accustomed to, inflamed controversy in the daily press lasted nearly a month: Boston’s cultural pedigree was at stake.

Bloodhound.
Taking this opportunity to write down some thoughts I have...
(And a note to all you lovely people, there will be an update to the masterlist soon! A double new-fandom whammy!)
Recently started playing Apex - and Bloodhound is one of the characters who absolutely captivated me. (I refuse to play as anyone else, at the current time).
The beads/threads attached to their helmet represent various people and times in their life that hold great meaning to them; their parents, Artur, Boone, the battle with the Goliath. It gives them a way to keep these memories close to them, to not let them slip away.
Occasionally likes making similar little trinkets for those they care about; something to symbolise a moment with them, or a battle. Much thought and care goes into the creation of each strand.
Incredibly methodical, at times. They get a small bit of joy from doing tasks in a sure and ordered manner; a lot of their tasks and usual activities have a certain order they go in or are performed in. It gives them a bit of calm, and even safety, when they're able to do things the 'right' way.
They almost always have cold hands and feet; they never really notice it themselves, but if they were to ever lay a bare hand on someone's shoulder, it would be a rather startling experience - they feel like ice, especially their fingers. Their left hand sometimes has moments where it feels a lot colder than their right - but there isn't this issue with either of their feet.
They have been given wildlife guides in the past, as a joke from other legends. They tore it to shreds correcting a fair bit of the information, writing better tips in the margin or critiquing the images used to illustrate, before handing it back a few days later.
Isn't a huge fan of music that doesn't have words/lyrics. They like music that tells a story, that means something - they don't always get that or feel the emotions intended through instrumental alone. They don't mind classical/instrumental, but if given the option, they would pick something that could be sung.

Apex Headcannon
just gonna start off and say this is based off a story i posted on my private IG years ago, and i think its time to bring it out of the vault for the apex enjoyers.
So picture this, Octane, Hound, Mirage, and Wattson are chiling in the dropship, chatting. Octane offers Natalie to visit his place to smoke weed, she hesistates because she hasnt really gotten high before, but when Octane mentions Hound and Mirage will be there, she relaxes. Hound reassures her she will be okay, and Elliot slaps Octane on the shoulder, laughin, "hell yeah ! we'd never show you a bad time !" and with a giggle, Natalie agrees.
Fast forward to when they all meet up at octanes place, and they all collectively get high as a kite, vibing, and chilling. Hound starts autism dumping about the various prowler species and their differences.... to Artur, who is unimpressed. Elliot is trying to play patty-cake with his decoys, and somehow starts a fight with himself. Natalie and Octane are tripping and oohing and aahing at some cocomelon video someone put on the big tv.
Wraith, coming in to check in on Natalie, brings Caustic as backup (idk, this is what i wrote in my original post lmfao) and when they open the door to octanes place, theres this thick smoke that pours out the door, and wraith drops everything, trying to find natalie while coughing, and trying to speak over the smoke, caustic howls: "ARE YOU SMOKING? WHAT ARE YOU SMOKING IN HERE-"
Natalie, giggling with octane: "Oui'd"
Hound cracks up, their laughter cutting through the brief silence, and in trying to get up, Elliot trips, knocking himself out, and Natalie and Octane break out into a vicious giggle attack.

Bivol Becomes Undisputed World Light-Heavyweight Champion
What a night for boxing again and what another fight between two of the sport’s apex gladiators. Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol set up a likely trilogy fight after another classic and razor close fight again tonight. Dmitry Bivol a short time ago avenged his points defeat to Beterbiev last year with a majority decision points win of 114-114, 116-112, 115-113 in his favor on the cards a short…
