I'm sorry this post took so long ;A; I admittedly lost my motivation for quite a while, but I'm doing my best to get back onto this. Thank you everyone who was so patient for this!

Day (technically 19 but) 21: Berry

(I know I accidentally skipped this one in the last post I am sorry. Anyway this is the result of me watching too many JimmyHere YLYL streams while drawing)

Day 22: Fungal

"Ah... Our favorite. Fate has smiled upon us."

"The textures work so well together!"

"...A bit too savoury. We shoulda put honey in it!"

(Imma be honest. I didn't get this line on my first playthrough, so when I did on my second I about broke down crying. Fate has smiled upon them,,, ;v;)

Day 23: Flight

"We can fly as high as our hearts wish to! Soar to UNSEEN HEIGHTS!"

(The fact that Kabbu is terrified of heights but loves bounceshrooms is very underrated imo. I think he wants to overcome his fear someday and maybe learn how to fly on his own...)

Day 24: Plant Enchanter

(What did you guys name your Chompys? I named mine Amarylis, intentionally spelt wrong due to character limits. I just think it's a pretty word :>)

Day 25: Lost

"Everyone left on the rescue ferry...but I chose to stay. There's such a soothing beat… How could I leave this place behind? I've gotta find where it comes from...I've...gotta..."

(You ever wonder what happened to the bug who left that note on the Peacock Spider's island? I mean, they're obviously dead, but...I still wonder.)

Day 26: Alternate Universe

(You ever make an AU based on a single line of dialogue & some concept art that gets stuck in your brain and refuses to leave? Yeah, that's what this AU is. The placeholder title is 'The Upcoming Storm', and is an answer to two questions: What if the Roaches followed through with their plans for a Thunder cordyceps? And what if one of Leif's ancestors decided to look into their disappearance?

So this is Cerice, their ridiculously energetic lesbian daughter [who they don't know is their daughter yet; she doesn't remember that they're her parent either] and host of the Thunder cordyceps! Don't worry, Grandpa and Muze still exist - Grandpa's her son. However, Team Snakemouth is split into two teams - Team Snake and Team Mothden - but they still work together. I might make a separate post abt it if anyone wants me to ^^)

Day 27: Song

(Who's a better character for this prompt than the composer's self-insert, lol)

Day 28: Medal

(I am a very firm believer in Poisoned Leif supremacy. Sorry Poisoned Vi and Kabbu, smashing bosses over the head with glaciers is just so viscerally satisfying)

Day 30: Bee

"You know...I was about her age when I came to my first festival. Everything was so much cooler than the boring Bee Kingdom! It really made me want to see the world!"

(I really wish they elaborated more on Vi deciding to become an explorer after her first festival! It's a very cute motivation & had a lotta story potential ;^;)

Day 31: Everlasting

"The Usurper, Grasping For Power..."

(Hoaxe is a fun final boss but god DAMN did he kick my ass a hundred times over. It's a good thing I decided to max my rank and stock up on Queen's Dinners, Berry Smoothies & Miracle Shakes the 5th time around)

More comic let's gooo! So disclaimer: If you're wondering why the art style changed midway through these pages, it's because I've gotten a new drawing tablet~! It has definitely helped to streamline the drawing process though, I will say.

(Also fun fact, pages 7-9 were the first pages I made. Yes, even before the prologue pages, lol)

this is just me gushing about the beauty of the boys.  they’re heartbreaking & i couldn’t breathe until i wrote this out.

let’s just start with this shot of henry sleeping.

i don’t have the words for him here. every cut & curve of him is absolute perfection & it drives me insane. i always think people are pushing it when they compare certain men to greek gods, but when i tell you that this prince is every myth & every fable. birth, life, and death. he is apollo, achilles, & hercules. he sits in grecian temples. he’s hand-carved in ivory, marble, & gold. he's the pantheon. unspeakable in his ancient pillars, hallowed in his ruins. & he’s just … sleeping. he’s just sleeping. 

but his arms are framing the pillows & the pillows are taking such delicate care of his face. his lips are parted & full & red against a whispering white frame. artisans etched him from an alabaster stone, i swear to god. he is artwork, music. an aria unmatched in its melody.

the back, the shoulders, the dimple in the shoulders. the sharp ridge of his jaw, the even-keeled slope of his nose. the eyes. the brows. he looks completely relaxed & it’s just so painfully gorgeous. he belongs in the museums he loves so deeply. it’s too much. it’s too perfect. 

alex is just as devastating. he’s what happens when the fates want to give “tall, dark, & handsome” a reference photo. 

he’s a roman cathedral, dripping in glittery coppers, deep reds & thick obsidians. if henry is carved, alex is painted. michelangelo’s final evolution. the sistine chapel consecrated by the saints. the renaissance, an archangel — gabriel. (oh sweet, blissful irony)

he’s breathtaking in a way that eases into the heavens. a centuries-old gust of wind crying “glory” from the clouds. a warmth written into the bones of history.

those big, wide brown eyes -- curving like the sun over the horizon line, thinning into creased lids at the center & side of his face. those lashes are a crime against sanity, full & fluttering — i die.

the cappella magna in broad morning daylight. the colosseum. an eighth wonder of the world; six feet of lithe & dancing limbs. a basilica of a boy; brought to life by an artist’s prayer --

“ We'll go figure something else out, okay?”

“ Next time, maybe lead with that.”

“ Calm down.”

“ I have another idea to get us inside.”

“ What's the point?”

“ Do you really believe that?”

“ Then trust me.”

“ So, what are we doing here?”

“ You're breaking the law?!”

“ You will find that some things are worth breaking the law for.”

“ Then shut up and follow me.”

“ When you spend most of your time at sea among friends, it is easy to forget how to behave in public spaces.”

“ You haven’t finally lost it, have you? Not that I’d blame you.”

“ Whoa… That’s a huge tip.”

“ Either way, it’s not like you can give it back to him now that he’s gone. You should take it.”

“ I can’t just take it! What if they come back and ask for it?”

“ Then I’ll pay it back for you.”

“ That’s… that’s very sweet of you, but I can’t let you do that.”

“ I know the kind of pay we receive here, and let’s be honest, it’s not a lot.”

“ Maybe I have a second job that pays better.”

“ Take it. I won’t tell anyone.”

“ I… I truly don’t deserve your kindness.”

“ I don’t know, but it must be something big, because no one’s supposed to know about it yet.”

“ Wait. Then how do you know?”

“ I have my ways.”

“ One day you’re going to have to tell me, you know.”

“ Great work? That’s all you have to say?”

“ Surely you haven’t forgotten how stressful it was to practice for the Signía?”

“ Today was a blessing, but… It was just luck.”

“ We keep practically starving ourselves and working ourselves to death.”

“ We can’t keep living like this, you know?”

“ What if we moved?”

“ I don’t… I mean, we can barely afford to live, and you want to move?”

“ Arcaion is legal there.”

“ There’s a reason Arcaion is only permitted in certain circumstances, you know this.”

“ Perhaps Arcaion is not as bad as they make it out to be.”

“ Why do we keep living here and struggle every day, when we could have a much better life elsewhere?”

“ There has to be other options.”

“ Then what do you suggest?”

“ There is someone there. A man who provides payment in exchange for information.”

“ What kind of information?”

“ It pays well.”

“ You’re right. I’m sorry…”
