best to worst cook: inarizaki edition

this is mostly going off of timeskip, since there’s not much info on my boys omimi, akagi and ginjima!!

OSAMU is a chef so he practically lives in the kitchen. savoury foods are his preferred type to cook but there’s no doubting that he can whip up a dessert if he wants to. the only problem he has with baking is that he can’t manage to perfect the meringue. he’s the type to go the extra mile for a midnight snack, making himself a single serving of aglio olio rather than rummaging through the pantry for anything like a normal person.

KITA is diligent in everything, even cooking. his granny taught him every recipe that he knows, he could recite them to you word-for-word if he so desired. kita’s strong suit is in savoury foods and home remedies. he doesn’t bake much, not because he’s not good at it but because he’s not much of a sweet tooth. in saying that, he makes the best chocolate chip cookies in the world. they’re atsumu’s favourite.

OMIMI is a decent cook. he always makes his own food unless he’s going out to eat. that’s the only exception. omimi is more drawn to baking, he finds that it soothes him. his signature dish is a fruit tart, he loves the combination of sweet fruit with creamy custard. there’s a certain stress that comes to him with cooking savoury food, perhaps it’s the timing or the heat. he’s still trying to figure that out.

ARAN is not exactly the worlds best cook but he’s not the worst! he has to be following a recipe at all times, otherwise the food might be slightly off. aran is a little slow in the kitchen, especially when he’s chopping anything up. he doesn’t understand why his hands can’t cut at lightning speed like the chefs on tv. cooking and baking are equally as important to aran, he equally good at both of them too. sometimes when he needs a pick me up, he’ll bake himself a new york cheesecake.

AKAGI is your average joe in the kitchen. he doesn’t make food for himself all the time, opting to buy takeout after a long day of work. the majority of his dinners are sourced from one of those dinner subscriptions, it’s less of a hassle, apparently. akagi finds baking more difficult than cooking. it works well for him anyway because he’s more interested in the savoury anyway. he’s baked cookies a few times with kita and they turned out okay but it’s not quite his style, he says.

ATSUMU is not exactly a chef but he tries to make it work. he can make a perfect dish if he follows a recipe but he tends to ‘follow his heart’ while he cooks. it never ends well. it’s salvageable but it’s not what he wants it to be. atsumu prefers whipping up savoury food; once he tried recreating kita’s cookies and they didn’t turn out right. he vowed to never bake again. osamu knows why they sucked but he refuses to tell him. atsumu doesn’t like it.

SUNA isn’t the cooking type. he doesn’t really go into the kitchen unless he wants a glass of water or wants to eat instant ramen. he simply can’t be bothered. if he does make something for dinner, it’s usually frozen or from a box. suna has only baked once in his life and he despised every second of it. why is there so much technique involved? why can’t he just stir the batter normally instead of ‘folding’ it? what’s the difference?

GINJIMA is inarizaki’s worst cook by a landslide. everything he makes is burnt by the end of the process and he’s not sure why. suna muses that it’s his hot-headed nature, ginjima just thinks that the kitchen doesn’t like him. he wishes that he could make himself meat-wrapped fries at least once but it never happens. savoury food is what he’d like to specialise in. perhaps in another universe, ginjima.

best to worst cook: itachiyama edition

a/n: hey hotties, thanks for 70+ followers!! it’s so nice to see that you guys can actually read what i’m writing lol. anyway i can’t wait for 100, i have an event i really want to do!!

iizuna’s one is very much based on the crumbs of info there is on him. i’m so sad, he’s so handsome and talented, should be showed off more.

SAKUSA is not exactly a chef-level cook but he definitely knows how to dish out a fulfilling meal. he’s a firm believer in the art of preparation so you bet he’ll know every basic recipe like the back of his hand. sometimes when he’s had a bad day, he’ll add a twist to whatever recipe he’s craving. most of the time it turns out well. sakusa isn’t much of a sweets person so he doesn’t bake often, preferring a wok over a loaf tin. he’ll reluctantly bake with other people but he’s not going to bake a red velvet cake for fun on his own.

IIZUNA is a moderately good cook. he knows how to make himself a comforting meal be he won’t go to the lengths of calling himself an expert in the art of cuisine. he’s more of a baking type of guy, the idea of pillowy soft cupcakes more drool-worthy to him than a simple bowl of tonkatsu. iizuna likes baking sweets on the weekends so he can drop some off to his friends. komori is ever grateful whenever he sees a strawberry shortcake at his door. sakusa looks indifferent to the container of cookies but there’s a small smile underneath his mask.

KOMORI isn’t a disaster in the kitchen; he knows what he’s doing but he’s not quite the culinary artist. he knows how to fry an egg and how to cook rice — the technical parts — but he can’t combine those basic parts to create a mouth watering dish. it frustrates him a little but as long as he’s alive after he eats, there’s not much to complain about! he much prefers cooking to baking because there’s way too many steps for him to comprehend. it’s a pity, he really wants to eat cafe-level desserts without having to buy them all the time...

atsumu miya is obsessed with the dream smp. every single weekend, he’ll force osamu, suna and ginjima to play manhunt with him. there’s no true rhyme or reason to his demands, it’s just whenever he feels like it. osamu and suna hate playing manhunt with him. ginjima, on the contrary, is just as excited as atsumu.

bokuto koutarou does not put on his pants one leg at a time. instead, he jumps into both legs. he’s says he does it because it’s more efficient but truthfully, he once wanted to see if it was a possible feat. bokuto was successful on his first try and has been jumping into his pants every since. might i mention that his tradition started in his first year of high school?

best to worst cook: date tech edition

hey y’all, it’s time for another best to worst cook!! i have been so burnt out recently because of school so i haven’t really been able to pump out good content. hopefully i’ll get back on my grind during the event!!

AONE is one of the most outstanding home cooks ever. he could easily dish out a three course meal, he could lay out a buffet like it’s not even that much of a bother and he could whip up any dessert that you wanted with a snap of two fingers. aone makes cooking look as easy as breathing. though he more often finds himself creating savoury dishes, he leans more towards sweets and pastries. the second he found out how to make his favourite food, candied chestnuts and sweet potato, he spent a week trying to perfect it to a t. he bakes on occasion, whenever he finds that he has free time to. it’s never the same dessert every time, aone has to try out a different recipe during his baking sessions.

KOGANEGAWA is surprisingly not too terrible at cooking! every single date tech player was shocked when he first brought homemade onigiri to practice. their surprise further escalated when they realised that they tasted good. he is particularly skilled with snacks, appetisers and desserts but cannot make a cohesive meal to save his life. though he likes to make more savoury and sustaining snacks for the volleyball team, koganegawa has a soft spot for baking. every week he makes a batch of macarons for fun, he loves experimenting with different colours and flavours! aone has become his designated taste tester for his weekly macaron endeavours.

FUTAKUCHI prides himself on many things but he cannot say that he’s quite as good of a cook as he is a team captain. the only thing he has managed to cook without screwing it up is rice and instant ramen. it really isn’t much of a feat but at least he can do something! futakuchi doesn’t like to bake that much, he likes to proclaim that it’s simply too frivolous for his taste. the truth of it is that he is far too intimidated by the amount of steps, technique and ingredients involved. the fact that he is not exactly a chef in the kitchen makes it all the more difficult for him. he imagines that if he was proficient in the culinary arts, he would be almost on the same level as aone. almost.

honestly, tanaka likes people of any shape and size so he’d just be excited to have an S/O. 

you two are The Power Duo™ of all power duos. tanaka alone can bring an intimidating aura but both of you together are even more fierce. 

tanaka steals your clothes sometimes because he thinks you won’t notice. 

you do, obviously, but you let him get away with it anyway because he’s such a sweetheart. 

in return, he lets you borrow some of his shirts (he high-key melts when he sees you in his clothes!!!!!)

on the topic of clothes, tanaka will try on some of your clothes and even do a runway for you when you’re feeling low. 

 it works every time.

tendou

tendou literally does not care that you’re big and tall like him, he’ll lift you up and swing you around. 

he’d even take it a step further and mount you on his shoulders, creating a beacon of terror. 

if you’re taller than him, he will always ask to be the small spoon. hell, he’ll always be the small spoon regardless. 

he high-key loves having you cradle him in your arms, it makes him feel warm and safe. 

he loves to make outfits for you from his closet (and vice versa) and will take cute pictures.

you can bet your bottom dollar that he will post these pictures all over his instagram without shame. he just loves you too much and especially loves you in his clothes. 

goshiki

every day, he looks at you and wonders how the hell you grew to be so tall. 

he’s a little terrified, to say the least, but he loves you anyway. 

if you’re around his height, he will grab a frickin measuring tape and triple measure your height to see who’s officially the tallest of the both of you. 

you take his jackets all the time just to mess with him. 

he’ll be looking for hours trying to find his got damn jacket!!! but guess who took it for the tenth time this week?????

but every time he sees you in that jacket (or his clothes in general), he swoons big time and will flush a nice shade of ruby red. 

even if you’re taller than him, goshiki is gonna insist on being the big spoon while cuddling. 

once you coaxed him into being the small spoon for once and he low-key loved it. 

he’d never tell you though.

wowie, the first haikyuu request! thank you so much, I absolutely adore hinata. anyway, I can’t relate to this request at all because of how short I am. in American Measurements™, I’m about 5’2”??? 155cm in the rest of the world. also, I wrote this with gender neutral pronouns to make it more universal. hope that’s OK!

he doesn’t really mind the height difference, to be honest. 

sure, he’ll be playfully peeved from time to time (because you like hiding things from hinata on the high shelf) but all he cares about is you as a person. 

he’s both in love with and terrified of how tall you are. 

he’s especially fascinated with how long your legs are. 

“Y/N-chan, can you give me some of your legs?”

“shoyo, it’d be great if I could but transplantation doesn’t work like that.” 

when you both cuddle, there’s often a switch in position. some days, hinata wants to hold you in his arms and some days, he feels like being wrapped in your arms. 

he was exclusively the big spoon until one day, you introduced him to the concept of Being The Small Spoon. 

needless to say, he became a big fan of it very quickly. 

sometimes, you play casual volleyball games with strangers on the beach and team up with hinata, becoming the Ultimate Wall. 

when he first introduced you to the team, the both of you were met with slightly quizzical faces. 

after a solid ten seconds of staring, tanaka and noya collectively burst into laughter while teasing hinata for being obviously shorter than you.

daichi hit them both upside the head and glared at them for the rest of practise. 

hinata didn’t really care though. he was a little annoyed but who cares? you love each other and that’s final!

overall, hinata loves you endlessly and is super fond of your height. he wouldn’t trade you for anything else in the world.
