18) if they could convince a villain onto their side, who would it be and why?

This one is difficult to answer, since Ashern is of the mind of "cool motive, still murder" and smacking said villains upside the head rather than attempting to reach out first. He can't seem to push his personal feelings aside, which would create so many problems during and after the fact that he wouldn't even want to try to begin with (incredibly hostile work environment basically). Too many grudges and very unlikely for forgive.

The closest that could come of this would probably be, pre-Vault, Thordan with the primary reason being the fact that they have a common enemy, the Ascians. Post-Vault though? No one really, not any of the major villains at least. The grunts and any of the lowest ranking members of an opposing faction however, are a different story. No personal beef, and an understanding that what they're doing may be a means of survival (especially when it deals with those conscripted into the imperial army), thus he's far more amicable in this regard.

Adam Beach

was born in Ashern, Manitoba, the son of Sally and Dennis Beach, and was raised on the Dog Creek First Nations Reserve, with his two brothers. A troubled childhood saw his mother killed by a drunk driver, and his alcoholic father drowned only weeks afterward. The three brothers went to live with their grandmother and then with their uncle and aunt in Winnipeg, where Adam joined drama classes and began acting in local theatre productions.

Since then he has appeared in over 60 films and television programs. His performance in the Academy Award-nominated Clint Eastwood-directed Flags of Our Fathers (2006) was phenomenal. He played Ira Hayes, a Pima Native American who was one of the six US Marines to raise the American flag on Iwo Jima and who found the resulting fame hard to handle, subsequently giving way to alcoholism. This alone would have been an emotional role for Adam to play; however, during filming, both his grandmother and best friend passed away. His role as Hayes is both realistic and heartbreaking, earning him two Best Supporting Actor Award Nominations. He stands out well above the rest of the cast.

Adam has been further nominated for three Awards for his role in Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee (2007) including a Golden Globe. He has put in terrific performances in the comedy film Joe Dirt (2001) and the John Woo World War II war epic Windtalkers (2002) in which he co-starred with Nicolas Cage.

He headlined the cast in the Walt Disney production Squanto: A Warrior's Tale (1994), featured in John Singleton's Four Brothers (2005) and starred with Harrison Ford and Daniel Craig in the science fiction-western smash hit Cowboys & Aliens (2011). He had a starring recurring role in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (1999) and Big Love (2006).

In 2016, he played Christopher Weiss / Slipknot in the supervillain film Suicide Squad (2016).

And I found that this character shares a lot of those qualities. A lot of the communities I connect to get their inspiration from television and YouTube. I felt that this character could reach out to them and really connect. He's a character who's struggling with himself. He's trying to get back in touch with the person he once was.

hi, i must scream and ramble into the void about ffxiv because i must here be spoilers

I JUST WANNA START OUT WITH that i cannot get the idea of lightwarden WoL out of my head, especially after looking at everyone else’s version and going: YES, EXCELLENT, WHAT WONDERFUL CONTENT TO IMMERSE MYSELF IN (hi i’m very late to this party, as i just finished msq about a few weeks ago). now i have my own with my WoL cat boy, Ashern. and it’s great! the tragedies and the exploration of characters and all i got is putting this cat looking noodle thing with too many limbs (he has the consistency of a ferret!) onto the table with pride and asking everyone to look at how fluffy he is (especially his tail, it is the fluffiest). it doesn’t help that my brain is permanently on the shitpost setting, so almost all the content i come up with is humorous in some form. 

like seriously, you douse this big ol’ lightwarden in water, toss him into an oversized dryer and he comes out as Floof Prince Supreme (though he’s not happy about being in the dryer). or at least spray him with the hose and dry him later. either way works. also if he was smaller you could just hold him like a ferret like this

AND THEN THE STAIRS. sure flying is easy but what’s more fun is just cartoonishly sliding down the stairs just because he can. there’s also relaxing in increasingly weird spots that look uncomfortable, on account that being inside is impossible, everything is too small.

then there’s the difficulty of trying to make lemon bars (his favorite) and again, everything is just! too! small! please help him, he has big claws and tiny instruments.

anyway i’m done rambling, maybe now that i’ve thrown my thoughts out here i can focus on and finish WRITING other things. maybe. hopefully. probably not.

Between Ashern and Raha, they're pretty equal in that regard. They're basically the embodiment of one getting threatened, the other stepping in front, and seeing that the one being protected steps in front instead ad infinitum.

Lol he's on that list obvs, G'raha and Estinien are up there, I mean all the scions are on the list but the way my brain is sorting this is the most trusted people are the people she wouldn't even need to verbally communicate with so it's def not all of them, and for how long she's known Thancred I still cannot say he'd even be very high on that list unfortunately, oh but Y'shtola is, Y'shtola wine aunt has a way of reading ppl I think and I think to Y'shtola A'miru is very easy to read. Y'know who is on that list though that even I didn't expect but cannot find flaws in it? Sicard. Those two are on such extremely similar wavelengths and I think that alone would spike him up there actually, I think they understood each other so fast. (Oh no, the worms)

15. How do they speak? Is what they say usually thought of on the spot, or do they rehearse it in their mind first? and E) Are they someone you would get along with? Would they get along with you? for uncommon questions pleeaassse

15. Ashern is very soft-spoken and concise with strangers and acquaintances. He does think of what he wants to say and practices in his head just so he's as clear as possible and doesn't need to repeat himself. Sometimes he focuses a little too hard on what he's going to say and ends up ignoring what's being said to him. With friends and loved ones, well he's still very soft-spoken, but his voice is lively and light. He's also more likely to blurt out the first thing that comes to mind instead of thinking things through, even if it comes out a jumbled mess that confuses everyone.

E) I'd think so! Ashern's one to gets along with others relatively easy, especially if he can see traits he has (or similar) in the other person, and considering some parts of him are cut from my cloth (some more unintentionally than others), we'd vibe with one another.

36. Who's more likely to fire up the stove at 2am because the other woke up in the middle of the night hungry? 👀

Definitely Aymeric, but not before waking up to find Ashern missing from bed, hearing him rattle around in the kitchen, and then catching him stuffing food into his mouth directly out of the cupboards like the goblin he is. Basically the vibe of shoving shredded cheese into your mouth directly from the bag sort of deal.

There's also the bonus that when it happens post 5.0, Ashern's eyes and the light burns on his back have a subtle glow, so seeing his boyfriend raid the kitchen in the middle of the night while looking like he was caught with his hand in the cookie jar on top of the glowy bits was a little bit alarming.

He's gotten used to it, sorta. It rarely happens since Aymeric is a light enough sleeper to catch Ashern awake before he leaves the bed. Though after the first time, Ashern tries to not be a goblin and just snack a little instead.

18. If memory serves me right, Aymeric already has a pet cat (thanks Eorzea Collection)! This means he has double the lap cats to contend with, as neither are inclined to move from their spot once settled. However this does mean Ashern gets a taste of his own medicine rather often, as the spoiled little princess likes to take a nap in his lap, almost always when he wants to get up (she knows, she always knows). So that's one off the bat, but there aren't any plans on getting more (yet).

Between Ashern and G'raha, there don't have any already established pets, nor have any current plans to. Ashern is often away from home, and the fact that he likes taking G'raha with him on whatever misadventure he has planned means neither of them would be home much, raising a concern that they wouldn't be able to take care of a pet. They wouldn't really be able to provide the love and attention a fur baby would need. Maybe when they've settled they will, especially if you take into account the amount of strays Ashern ends up finding.

51. Ashern has a plethora of head bunts to give, and he gives them often, he has a lot of love in his heart after all. On the flip side, Aymeric puts emphasis on the little things, making hot cocoa to share on those cold winter days, the forehead and goodknight kisses, and the engulfing hug that Ashern loves so much, just to list off a few. They're both saying constantly saying "I love you" often to each other in their own ways.

With G'raha, it's the hugs that knock the breath out of Ashern, the squeeze of his hand, peppering his face with as many kisses as he can stand, and the many head bunts of his own. His non-verbal I love you's come packaged with his physical affections to the point where Ashern is happy to drown in it.

42 What's their favorite type of weather to enjoy together? (getting snowed in together, watching thunderstorms, etc.)

With Aymeric, it's definitely the snowed in/it's so cold going outside hurts my face sort of weather. It's the perfect excuse to stay home, snuggled together under a blanket next to the fireplace, and sharing a hot drink. Granted, Aymeric will have most of the blanket since Ashern will be plenty warm on his own. Either way, it's a nice break for both of them.

With G'raha though, it's the rain. If the sound doesn't give Ashern an impromptu nap while laying in G'raha's arms, he's dragging him outside to dance in it. More often it's the former than the latter thankfully, although that hasn't stopped at least one of them from getting sick for when they do go out.

7 What triggers nostalgia for them, most often? Do they enjoy that feeling?

Choosing a book to read or even the act of writing. Granted, it's not all the time, but when that nostalgia hits him, it hits him hard. He'll get stuck reminiscing about the times with his grandmother teaching him how to read and write (she also tried to teach him thaumaturgy, but that did not stick sadly).

It was a simpler, happier time, sitting in his grandmother's lap and attempting to read aloud the big words on a page, or doing his best to copy the look of one of the letters out of said book and being very proud of himself when he got it down. She sparked a love for reading and writing in him, and there are a few books she owned that he's kept ever since she passed. What keeps things fresh in his mind though, are the letters. It was the easiest way for Ashern to learn how to write, and every single one of them were addressed to her. It is a practice he keeps even to this day, even though the letters go unsent. He keeps them hidden away, but occasionally the nostalgia will pull him into opening and rereading them. He can't help but imagine her reading them at her kitchen table, smiling and laughing at some of his stories.
