*after the events of the odyssey*
*telemachus and odysseus walking down to the docks, after odysseus said he'd go sailing with his son*
(listen the man had missed 20 years of his son's life, he could ask ody to dress in drag & do the hula and odysseus would already be shouting "LUAU" in a grass skirt before tele finished his sentence)
telemachus: i'm so excite- *looks ahead*
telemachus: *stops walking* oh no *sad noises*
odysseus: *still walking* what's wrong son?
telemachus: *points to the sea beyond ithaca's shores* poseidon must be angry today, look at the storm in the distance
odysseus: *looks ahead but without worry on his face* no need to worry, we can still go sailing, follow me
telemachus: *confused but follows his dad*
*both make it to the docks*
odysseus: you get started, i've just got something to do & then i'll join you on the ship
*telemachus hops on the ship and odysseus turns to face the sea*
odysseus: *red eyes activate* i'm. going. sailing. with . my. son.
*the sea storm dissipates in record speed*
odysseus: good.
odysseus: *red eyes deactivate*
odysseus: *turns to telemachus smiling like nothing happened* shall we go then?
telemachus: *happy but very confused*
telemachus: *mumbling to himself*what just happened?
(this has now become its own little au! friends in higher places au masterlist here!)

if you guys are interested, send in an ask or comment!
will anybody be willing to hear out neglected child reader who was another one of zeus's bastard children. you're out there chasing for your stepmother (hera's attention), whilst zeus just lets you run around without his care, clearly too wrapped up in his affairs. your other siblings aren't as good to you, too, thinking another half-deity isn't worth their time—
so you'd give up, pretty much choosing to bestow the mortal world with your presence instead; because if you can't be loved by your own family, then let yourself be worshipped by passionate mortals instead.
how about romancing telemachus? what if you both learn what it's like navigating through his godly favor with athena, and you with your own powers? what if you have odysseus and penelope be the actual parent-figures you always wanted? their overprotectiveness skyrockets every time you propose to being elsewhere in ithaca, to the point you forget that it's you who has the godly powers to oppose, but how could you when a darker side of them appears every time you allow yourself to be disrespected within their palace?
how about in another place? what are you to many of the great warriors, if not for a forgotten, yet mysterious and whimsical deity? why is your name muttered in all the regions? surely, with just how much you deny your god-like origins, but still manage to capture the hearts of hundreds of suitors, you'd gain quite the infamous name despite your closed-off attitude.
imagine enough attention was garnered on your presence, that that's what was needed for them to finally notice you? but you're not quite the same child who used to pull on their robes, or look at them as brightly as the sun— no, now you deny them of any of your love. your mother, hera, finally sees you and urges you to return to olympus away from the prying eyes of many suitors and back into the domain of safety. she calls you her baby, fuzzing over you even when you openly and spitefully try to rip her hands away from fixing your 'messy' robes. zeus isn't any better, now he calls you sweet names and pretend like he hadn't actively bashed on you for your weakness back when you were begging on his throne for just a sliver of attention? he wants you to sit in between his throne and hera's? you're significantly smaller than him, he's gigantic in nature, and it doesn't help that he treats you like you could be easily squashed by him (which is every damn right possible, and it's intimidating and makes you want to cry).
and there's the issue with the others, too. so many of them used to deny you in favor of focusing on their own domains. now apollo wants to carry you off in one of his chariots to ride off the skies with him while he plays his lyre to you? artemis wants to teach you the way of the hunt under the dark, gloomy skies you used to wish under for a moment of their time? aphrodite used to spitefully shut you out of her own doors, but now she invites you in her room to gossip and play pretend while she coos and braids your hair?
and all the other gods, now wanting to take you away from the underserving - as they say it - mortal realm? that the people who built sculptures of you, who held you more lovingly more than those you grew up with, aren't worthy of your divine presence?
what a joy to be a being looming between the lines of mortal and divine, right?

a/n: this concept is better off and more coherent in my head i swear. now i don't often diverge from my main fandom, but the similarities between this and the yan! batfam is quite hilarious to me that ngl i want to make a crossover of it. and yes, this is me coping with the stress of having to deal with the sudden influx of hate in the yan! dc community, so i'm taking a short break from it to focus on this.

My favorite parts of the Odyssey (and things I took note of while reading):
Telemachus not understanding Penelope’s grief over Odysseus
Telemachus being So Done with the Suitors
Athena calling Odysseus her “old friend” twice while in disguise.
Athena disguising herself exclusively as Odysseus’ friends when appearing to Telemachus.
Athena’s utter disdain for Calypso. (It’s really funny, actually. She does just seem to hate her.)
Nestor (WHY IS THIS BITCH STILL ALIVE HE WAS OLD DURING THE TROJAN WAR AND ITS BEEN TEN FUCKING YEARS.)
Nestor being asked for news of Odysseus and admitting he doesn’t know anything, then immediately going on a rant about his own journey home.
Nestor having EVEN MORE SONS. WTF. WHERE ARE THEY COMING FROM.
Nestor saying he’s never seen a god more openly fond of anyone than Athena is of Odysseus.
SERIOUSLY HOW OLD IS NESTOR???? ITS SAID HES RULED FOR THREE GENERATIONS.
Menelaus going to Egypt and getting even more rich right after Troy, while Agamemnon was murdered in his own house.
Everyone bursting into tears over dinner when talking about Odysseus
Menelaus disguising himself as a seal.
The seal skins that they used for said disguise smelled so bad the goddess who was helping him put ambrosia under his nose
The old man of the sea saying he shouldn’t tell Menelaus who got home alright and then proceeding to tell him every little detail.
The first time we see Odysseus, he’s on Calypso’s island crying “as usual.”
The return of “What are you talking about?” Still laughing my ass off about this btw.
Nausica seeing a dirty, scruffy, naked man (he was wearing a branch but that doesn’t count) come out of a bush and getting annoyed at her maidens for being afraid.
Athena making Odysseus look young and hot to the maidens and Nausica. I don’t know why. She really didn’t have to.
Athena making Odysseus invisible but not telling him, so when he goes up to the phaeacian queen and Athena makes him visible again everyone is confused about where this random, scruffy, homeless looking man came from.
Seriously. They were eating dinner and then suddenly a guy was just there.
King Alcinous wonders if Odysseus is a god, and Odysseus is very confused about why he would think this.
One guess why he would think this.
Alcinous, after knowing Odysseus for like. A few hours. Asks him to stay and marry his daughter. He doesn’t even know his name.
Hermes telling Odysseus that he has to be careful or Circe will “unman” him
The men transforming back from pigs and being younger and hotter than before. Again. Why.
Them getting really emotional and crying with thanks for Odysseus saving them (seriously everyone is crying all the time. They all cried earlier too)
The sight is so pathetic that Circe, the notorious man hating goddess, takes pity and invites the whole crew to her palace.
Eurylochus spreading doubt and immediately folding at the expression on Odysseus’ face
Circe getting annoyed with all the crying and basically telling Odysseus to tell them to shut up.
Elpenor. Need I say more?
Oh my god they’re all crying again.
Ajax being a sore loser
Elpenor got a funeral!!! Yay!!!
EX-FUCKING-CUSE ME???!!!!??? WHAT DO YOU MEAN THE CATTLE MADE NOISE WHILE THEY WERE BEING COOKED????? IMAGINE YOUR STEAK JUST MOOS AT YOU. THATS NIGHTMARE FUEL.
Odysseus falling asleep immediately after getting onto the Phaeacian ship. What a mood.
Odysseus condemning liars while actively lying to Eumaeus.
Odysseus condemning liars while actively lying to Eumaeus and immediately after making up a story in which he meets himself.
Odysseus pounding on his chest and yelling at his heart to stop beating so fast.
His heart listens.
Theoclymenus immediately getting Murder Vibes from Telemachus and Odysseus and deciding to nope out
Telemachus defending Penelope from the suitors by saying her praises. I thought it was actually really sweet, because a majority of the time he was kind of rude to her. Shows he really did care and didn’t want to force her into anything against her will, despite the way he sometimes talked to her.
Odysseus stringing his bow and shooting through the axes (iconic)
Odysseus IMMEDIATELY AFTER stripping. He shoots Antinous naked. Everything out there. Telemachus must have wished he didn’t have eyes.
Penelope and Telemachus’ arcs (swapping viewpoints on Odysseus’ possible return.)
Athena holding off dawn so that Odysseus and Penelope could have lots of sex.
Odysseus and Penelope’s entire reunion
ODYSSEUS TREATING THEIR STRUGGLES AS EQUAL. YES.
ODYSSEUS TREATING PENELOPE AS HIS EQUAL WHEN EVERYONE ELSE UNDERESTIMATES HER.
Odysseus visiting his father and instead of telling him who he is immediately he decides to play a silly little game.
And by that I mean he makes up a random story on the spot when he doesn’t recognize him.
Laertes, used to the antics, doesn’t question this.
When Athena stops the fighting between the suitors families and Odysseus, and the suitor’s families begin to retreat, Odysseus chases them.
Zeus sends a lightning bolt to tell him to stop.

TELEMACHUS HEADCANONS — TWO — NSFW and SFW
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
General headcanons
This is just how he is when he's crushing on reader hdjfksjdh
Again, divider before the nsfw stuff
Tumblr media
SFW
Crushing
- He would definitely find a reason to go around the kingdom just to look for you.
- Would definitely be so excited if he see's you in the kingdom's events and festivals that's held in the palace.
- When you first met near the palace, he was such a stuttering mess as he tried to ask what you were doing there. This like "Yeah-! I'm.. Pffsh, I've been here alot!" Which you thought was funny because he was being obvious.
- Would let you drag him anywhere in the kingdom, especially by the sea side, as long as he's with you.
- Whenever you two watch the sunset, he'd watch you instead. But quickly turn away when you look over at him, trying to be discreet.
- Didn't know you were oblivious to his feelings, that's why he tried to many times to make you see he likes you.
- Yet you still thought you were out for his league, that's why you kept denying it.
- The first time you complimented him with a simple, "that color suits you!" He turns into a stuttering mess.
- Ever since that compliment, he wore that color almost everyday, making his servants wash the cloth so he could wear it again.
- Little things he liked to do was help you put on your brooch. Sometimes you want to wear your chiton in a way it almost hugs your body, but not too much, so he gave you a cute little brooch that was metal leaf, and since you couldn't reach your back as well enough, he helps you fix it.
- Just a simple, "Telemachus, could you help me with something?" He would immediately rush towards you, saying yes without even knowing what you want him to do.
- Asked Athena LOAADS of times, how to confess to you.
- And Athena said over and over, "I'm not Aphrodite."
- Telemachus would ask about your hobbies and immediately start learning about them so he could relate to you on a certain level.
- Whenever he does do them, you get warm inside because he's committing to what you like.
- Would be a sucker and learn to paint just to paint you.
- Spoiler alert, he managed to learn with the help of his mother.
- There was a time when he couldn't get his feelings straight, he started to fully avoid you, not inviting you to the palace anymore, not meeting you at the side of the palace, to the point you just thought he didn't enjoy your company, so you stopped going also.
- When he noticed that you didn't try to talk to him, he immediately missed your presence and rushed towards the kingdom to find you.
- When he did, he apologized so many times, almost going on his knees on that point.
- He's just really sorry that he stopped talking to you without an explanation.
- That was also when he accidentally said, "You just kept ignoring my signs, and I thought you didn't like me, but in reality, I'm in love with you, Y/n!" Not being able to control his emotions.
- Was so happy he started to cry on your stomach when you told him you felt the same.
Tumblr media
NSFW
- Definitely had so many wet dreams about you, to the point he's embarrassed to have a sleep over with you
- he once accidentally saw you bathing in the river where you two meet up in the forest sometimes, and he implemented that image in his head and masterbated to.
- Never told you about that since he was embarrassed, but whenever he felt needy while he was with you, he would start remembering wmehat your body looked like nude.
- He would definitely sketch you nude when you're not around, and hides it form Athena and his mother, cause of course, inappropriate.
- One Wet dream, he was moaning softly in his sleep, to the point Penelope had to knock on his door to see if he was doing the tango.
I'm sorry for my other followers that want my other works like creepypasta, I'm still in my epic the musical high🙌

A Lovely Exchange P 2
P1 here
Telemachus x Reader
Tumblr media
Synopsis: Telemachus already fights off his mother’s suitors, but what if he manages to become one? To… one of the palace’s servants?
A/N: Ya'll are hilarious in the comments of part 1, dw I hear ya'll I hear y'all loud and clear. Also, don't be shy to send me asks and even suggestions, I don't mind^^
Tumblr media
“You like her, don’t you, son?”
Wait… WHAT??
HOW DID SHE KNOW?
Was it that obvious?
WAIT! I DIDN’T KNOW!—
Telemachus was breaking in a cold sweat, his fists shaking as he maintained his eye contact with the ground, not wanting to face his mother.
“I-I…”
‘This is fine, this is fine! Everything will be fine. Just—just lie, right? That seems easy enough…’
He takes a deep breath.
“I… do…”
Athena he has said this once and he shall say it again, please come to his aid.
Penelope’s eyes light up upon hearing that.
Telemachus was holding his breath so much you’d think he was about to pass out. Thankfully, his mother spoke before he turned blue.
“Good, I always knew you had the eyes for her. Honestly, son, I was just waiting for you to tell me! I always wondered why you’d often avoid Y/n, she is always so sweet and kind—mostly the reason why I favour her so much. Then I realised that's why you were avoiding her. You liked her! How adorable.”
Telemachus took a few good seconds (or more) to process his mother’s words.
Seriously? She KNEW?
And she didn’t SAY ANYTHING?
Well shit, he didn’t know he was that obvious. She could’ve spared him the embarrassment on that one but alright.
“Mom, you knew? This entire time? You KNEW?”
Telemachus asked, standing up and going through a crisis right in front of his mother. Penelope nodded with a sweet smile on her blissful face.
“Why did you not say anything?”
“I wanted to see for myself of course. And the way you spoke to Y/n earlier just proved it.”
Fuuuck he was so AWKWARD WHEN HE SPOKE TO Y/N.
Athena can turn back time, right? She's a goddess so she’s definitely capable of that right? Or maybe he can make a deal with another god just so that Y/n can forget that Telemachus ever existed.
God, he wanted to pass out so badly!!
“It’s alright son, Y/n is more than suitable to be your partner! Speaking of which, look at how beautiful the roses have blossomed this day. You sure chose a lovely girl to court, do you think this is her favourite flower? Or Is it daisies? ”
Penelope sounded so blissfully unaware as she put her hands together, excited with the idea of Telemachus and Y/n together.
“Mom! Please! I’m not even able to speak to her in complete sentences yet! Let alone be her partner right now! Y/n is…”
“Yes, my prince?”
A serene voice called out.
Telemachus froze like ice.
His mother on the other hand immediately got up on her feet as she approached the voice.
“Y/n! Just in time, my dear. We were just talking about you.”
…Shit.
Having heard your name be called out from a distance, you decided to see where all the commotion was coming from. Soon enough, you found yourself being approached by the Queen and a very… conflicted looking Telemachus.
Did he tell his mother about what happened earlier? Is he still nervous? Why did he look so… red?
Your thoughts were put on hold as you saw Queen Penelope in front of you.
“Did you need anything, my Queen?”
You asked her, her gaze mischievously shifting from you to Telemachus for a split second.
“My son and I were just speaking of your beautiful work in the garden, my dear. You’ve outdone yourself Y/n.”
Telemachus nodded in agreement, an offputting smile on his lips and a pink hue returning to his cheeks and migrating into his ears, which he tried to hide under his hair.
It was no surprise the flowers you grew were quite a wonderful bunch. Your father used to be the palace gardener and in his spare time, he’d teach you all of his tricks on how to take care of flowers of all kinds. And since his retirement, you unsurprisingly took over.
Hearing the Queen’s praise warmed your heart.
“In fact, you have done so well that Telemachus would love to thank you with a quaint little dinner with him! A lovely exchange isn’t it?”
A dinner? With the prince? How sweet of him, perhaps he does like you a little bit. It doesn’t explain why he’s looking at Queen Penelope in disbelief like she just betrayed him.
Because she did.
He just said that he still couldn’t talk to her in coherent sentences.
And she sets him up with her, on a date, alone, just the two of them.
This is it, he couldn’t believe it.
His mother, his own mother, wants to kill him.
There was no other explanation as to why she would EVER suggest this.
Except if she wanted to actually kill him.
“Telemachus!”
Penelope called out to him, snapping him out of his daze. He fixes from looking at her back to you, with a genuine little smile at him.
“It’s settled then, yes? You will mar—I mean, dine with Y/n tonight correct?”
The boy managed to let out an awkward and voice-cracked “Yes’.
Penelope couldn’t hide her smile at the two as she put her hands on your shoulders.
“Wonderful, You’d be a delightful daughter-in-law!”
You quickly turn your head towards her, daughter-in-law. Is she ensuing…
Meanwhile, Telemachus was for sure about to give in on his own knees.
“I mean—oh well, we shall prepare for your upcoming date now. Come along Telemachus! We have much to discuss! As for you, Y/n, I shall have a tailor for your clothes shortly. We have a special dinner to prepare!”
Penelope moves with a quick pace, dragging Telemachus by his arm which was soon to break from her force.
“AH! Mom! I almost tripped!”
“One must endure slight pain when they are in love, my son.”
“I could’ve gone limp!”
“Same thing, Telemachus. Come along now! We have much to discuss.”
It was a bit confusing, but nonetheless, the exchange brought a sweet smile to your face.
Perhaps Telemachus is a sweetheart.

imagine Hera, Aphrodite, and Athena going to Odysseus instead of Paris with the apple. (in lore this would never work since the goddess know Odysseus would favor Athena, but let's pretend) They tell him to give the apple to the fairest like in the story. And then he just leaves.
He goes back to his palace to the shock of the goddesses and just gives Penelope the golden apple. He's just like yeah, 3 goddesses basically told me to give you the apple, I don't really know why, but here I am.
Like what are they going to do, his choice perfectly aligns with all their domains. Aphrodite? How is chosing his wife as the most beautiful and fairest not an act of love. (she might think it's blasphemy to put his wife above her, but I dont' think she'd mind if it's an honest and sincere act of love that he does) Hera? How is him putting his wife and his marriage above all else anything but a celebration of her domain. Athena? She'd probably be the most cool at the start, but how is that not a brilliant 3rd option to take (really 4th) that doesn't insult any of the goddesses

the bodyguard. — epic!telemachus x reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing: telemachus x gn!reader synopsis: after a year away from ithaca, telemachus returns to find his home in turmoil, with bloodshed staining the halls of the palace. gods, he just wanted to reunite with his family, his mother and certain guard that had captured his heart without even knowing. but the fates had another idea of a family reunion. genre: idk man, fluff ? angst ? warnings: fighting, blood, etc etc, tele being a sweetheart, mm that's it ig word count: 2.5k author's note: first time posting here, got tired of my ideas rotting in my notes app.......... had sm fun writing this, omg my fingers hurt after spending like three hours on my laptop ! would love to write more ab this, lemme know if i should !!!
first meeting: here! pt 2: here!
Telemachus had been alone in the palace for a long time. Dreaming of the day where his father would return to claim his throne, where he would tell him countless stories from the war, from the world, the sea. Telemachus' heart hurt, feeling a missing part, a void that he knew his father would fill.
But he didn't feel alone. He had them.
(Y/N), a new guard that had been assigned as guard when he was around fifteen. They had arrived as a gift from Nestor of Pylos, whose loyalty to Odysseus stretched back to Troy. Though sent to shield Penelope and her son, their arrival did little to quiet the suitors, who saw them as little more than a foreign soldier meddling in Ithacan affairs. But to Telemachus, their sharp tongue and unwavering spear became a comfort in the chaos, and eventually, their kind heart made his own race. They had become quite a companion for him when they weren't guarding his mother's chambers.
He always found himself admiring them. He couldn't help it, not when they were so pretty. How could anyone carry that guard uniform and still look so gorgeous? Telemachus didn't know. He had grown up alongside (Y/N), who was just a year younger than him, and had watched them transform into a more skilled soldier than they were before, agile and poised, unwavering and firey. Telemachus couldn't stop himself from looking, from sighing at the sight of them, a dazed smile on his lips as he observed at the way their hair flowed as they trained, how their expression softened when they interacted with his mother. How they seemed to bow their head to even Argos when they passed by, greeting ever so softly. Telemachus envied and felt enthralled by the kindness in their heart.
They even tried constantly to stop Antinous from kicking his ass, but well, it didn't do much the last time, it only made the older man give him a warning about how his mother had to choose new husband and with a scoff, he walked away, ripping a goblet of wine from another suitor. Telemachus didn't care. He had landed a few punches as well with Athena's help. He was proud of himself.
Since then, Telemachus not only had his mother and (Y/N), but also Athena. His new mentor encouraged him to be more brave and fierce, to practice with his spear and to take action using strategy and wisdom. And that's why he chose to travel and find information about his father, guided by his mentor to take part in something more than read thousands of scrolls as he spent the day locked in his chambers with Argos.
When he decided to embark on a journey to Pylos and Sparta, both Penelope and (Y/N) were against it, skeptical and worried, but stubborn as ever, Telemachus yelled and that he needed to prove himself, that he needed to know. That he needed to do something to feel worthy of his lineage. And so he left, for a whole year.
As the ship divised Ithaca and Telemachus practically buzzed with enthusiasm of seeing his mother again, of seeing them again, his heart rate picked up.
He didn't know that when he returned, his father would already be there, slaying the 108 souls that made his and his mother's lives tremendously difficult, sending them straight to Tartarus. Yet when Athena advised him to dock his ship somewhere else, away from prying eyes, Telemachus felt something was wrong.
So when he arrived to the palace and managed to hear the screams, he bolted. He ran towards the source of the sounds and while running, he saw piles of bodies, puddles and puddles of blood, his sandals slipping on the slick marble floor stained with fresh crimson. He just hoped his mother was okay, he hoped that (Y/N) could keep her safe. He hoped (Y/N) was safe. The palace was dark as night approached, torches blown out and some of them on the floor, a few feet away from the bodies. Telemachus could still see, squinting his eyes as he now walked carefully, wary of whatever dangers could be found within the walls of his home.
And that's when he saw it, Amphinomus and Melanthius, their voices echoing sharply against the cold stone walls of the armory. The room was dimly lit, the golden and silver glint of scattered weapons catching the faint glow of a single torch hanging near the entrance. They were discussing something about… The king? His father? Had he returned? Was that why the suitors were falling like rotten apples from a tree? He had to do something. That was his chance to finally do something about those monsters that had been tormenting him since he was a child.
He gripped his double sided spear until his knuckles turned white, and before he could be heard, he struck Amphinomus, his sharp eyes watching him fall with a loud thud. He then tried to persuade the rest of the suitors to give up, to throw down their weapons, but as he suspected, it was useless. They charged at him, wanting to capture him to have a leverage over his father.
And they almost did it, because while Telemachus fought tooth and nail to get them off, his spear was knocked out of his hands in a second, and Melanthius forced him to his knees, where Telemachus felt like he had disappointed his mentor and his entire bloodline.
But as soon as his expression fell, his eyes widened as he felt a gush of warm, red liquid on his face. Melanthius had been stabbed from the back, by non other than a man with a cloak, eyes red as blood and expression deathly as a sharp sword. Melanthius tried to beg for mercy, but wasn't grated with it, with harsh words and various wounds to the chest by this individual. His father.
And soon, as Odysseus busied himself with those who were still alive, more screams could be heard down the hallway from the great hall. A running figure emerged from the chaos, sharp eyes gleaming in the lone, flickering torchlight that illuminated the hallway. Their white chiton, trimmed with blue and gold, glowed faintly against the dark, blood-spattered hall. Each calculated strike of their spear echoed in the cavernous space, the clatter of falling weapons and dying gasps and yelps of suitors filling the air. Behind them, the shadows seemed to ripple as if the palace itself recoiled from the carnage. The dark blue chlamys draped over their shoulder, fastened with a round golden brooch, flowed as they moved both ferociously and gracefully. They had an armor, gold bracers with intricate patterns on both forearms, gold and blue greaves on the lower legs, equipped with a round shield, alongside their gold helmet crested with a plume. Strappy leather sandals that climbed their calves made a faint noise as they ran down the hall, eyes calculating every move, mind and soul fast as they struck every suitor they encountered.
Telemachus had never seen such a dangerous yet beautiful sight. (Y/N) looked so flawless as they fought, and when their eyes met? Telemachus swore his heart stopped. He hadn't seen them since the year prior, and they looked even more stunning. Not that they weren't stunning before, but because he had missed that elegance and grace when he was away, -thinking about it for a whole year, of them with a stoic face, chuckling at him as his spear fell out of his hands when he practiced, shielding him from Antinous constant pestering, admiring them while they were on duty and he was supposed to be eating his dinner-, and seeing it once more after a long time made him appreciate it even more. When they approached, asking if he was hurt while trying to wipe the blood off his face, asking if some of it was his, Telemachus couldn't stop himself from stuttering, cheeks flushed like he hadn't been stabbing men left and right, the flush on his cheeks competing against the blood on his clothes and face. The air was thick, heavy with the aftermath of battle, yet all he could focus on was the way (Y/N)’s gaze burned into his.
"I-I'm fine, (Y/N), I promise, it's not mine" he answered, lowering himself to retrieve his spear and grip it in his hands, sending a lopsided smile their way, almost forgetting that his father, the one who was stranded away for twenty years, was right there, as he admired their presence. How their hair had grown out, how it seemed more shiny.
Once he snapped out of that trance, his eyes fell on his father. Odysseus, the great king of Ithaca. Telemachus' mouth hanged open for a while, staring as Odysseus recovered for the carnage. His chest heaved, his long hair was messy, face stained with red.
"Father…" was all Telemachus could muster, heart on his throat. (Y/N) took notice of this, and their eyes snapped to the man whom they didn't recognize, eyes wide with shock.
"My king, it's an honor." they bowed deeply, lowering their spear as well as their head.
Odysseus, who seemed to now comprehend how much time he had been away, ignored the greeting from the guard and just looked at Telemachus like he was still an infant in his arms, muttering a soft "Son…" as his eyes softened, no longer carrying that angry red that he possessed during the battle. Both father and son embraced for a while, emotions flooding the room as (Y/N) gave them space, guarding the door like they were on duty.
Once they had talked and shared a few tears, Telemachus fetched the guard from their spot, his hand brushing slightly against theirs as he pulled them in the direction of his father.
"This is (Y/N), father. The guard I talked to you about, a friend I made over the years. They practically kept this whole place running. If it weren't for them, mother and I would probably be in ruins," he chuckled, eyes trailing over every faction, every detail in (Y/N)'s face.
“A fine soldier and a loyal companion. You’ve served my family well, (Y/N).” Odysseus' voice was heavy with authority, but there was a warmth underneath it, a gratitude that even a seasoned warrior like (Y/N) would recognize, as his eyes, maybe dimmed and tired, still held some softness in them.
"It was nothing, my king. I was just doing what was right, it's my duty." they replied, tone steady, but Telemachus noticed the faintest waver in their voice. Nerves? Respect? Whatever it was, was endearing to him. And when (Y/N) straightened up and bowed once more, turning their attention back to the doors as Odysseus told Telemachus to inform his mother of his return and to have his guard accompany him, he let them go first before patting his son on the back with a strong but gentle hand.
"A good choice, my boy."
Telemachus froze, eyes wide as his cheeks turn blazing red.
"Wha-? No, father, it's not-" he stammered, trying to think of something to save himself, but it was futile.
"Oh, it's not what? I saw the way you looked at them the moment they joined the fight. Don't lie to me, son. I may have been away for twenty years, but I recognize that look everywhere. I looked at your mother the same way,"
His words alone were enough for Telemachus to turn scarlet, even more than he already was, knuckles white as he gripped his spear with the strength of an army, heart pounding against his ribcage. Gods, what was he going to do?

Platonic! Telemachus with an older sister! reader

࣪𖤐.ᐟ note -> Telemachus would be such a good brother bro.
࣪𖤐.ᐟ warnings -> none.
࣪𖤐.ᐟ content includes -> fluff, protective, mentions of fighting.
Tumblr media
۫ ꣑ৎ Telemachus deeply admires you and seeks your approval just as much as he seeks Penelope's approval. He would also often try and show off when he's training if you’re around, which would often end up with him getting hurt and you having to patch him up as he sits there, red from embarrassment.
۫ ꣑ৎ He is undoubtedly very protective of you and mother, especially ever since the suitors practically took over the palace. Telemachus doesn't trust any of them and makes sure he's always with you or that you are always hiding aways with mother in her room. He isn't risking leaving you alone with them.
۫ ꣑ৎ Telemachus starts getting into more and more fights as the suitors start to get restless from Penelope's rejections and start turning their attention towards you, the princess. Telemachus isn’t having any of it, he may be younger than you but he’s still your brother and he wouldn’t let anyone hurt you nor mother.
۫ ꣑ৎ He makes sure to always throw out the gifts the suitors give you, afraid there might be some kind of poison in it. Telemachus isn’t afraid to throw them out in front of the suitors before taking your hand and running away to your rooms, laughing and giggling the whole time.
۫ ꣑ৎ Telemachus knows why some of the suitors want your hand. It's not because they are actually interested in you, it was simply because you are a princess, and if something were to happen to Telemachus then your husband would be king, and there is no way in hell he would let any of them have your hand.
۫ ꣑ৎ He would much rather have you never marry and stay in the palace. And hopefully you never will. Telemachus would gladly take care of you for the rest of your lives, as a way to pay back all the times you have protected him over the years. If you are into women rather than men? Even better!
۫ ꣑ৎ Once Telemachus starts training under Athena he becomes much more serious when it comes to the suitors and your safety. He now sees them as a real threat, and he’s scared that if he leaves you alone even for a moment the suitors might do something unforgivable.
۫ ꣑ৎ He would personally give you a dragger that you would have with you all the time, in case the suitors tried to do something so you could protect yourself. Telemachus is no longer just your little brother who admires you, but a man who would fight tooth and nail for you and mother.
۫ ꣑ৎ Telemachus is terrified of leaving you and mother alone while he goes to find news of Odysseus with Athena. He would practically beg the goddess to ensure your and mothers safety while they are gone. Telemachus is really hesitant to leave but he knows that once he finds any news of father, he would be able to deal with the suitors.
۫ ꣑ৎ He would hug you as you see him off on his journey, even giving him a good luck charm. Telemachus hugs you tightly, promising to come back safe and sound with news of Odysseus. Telemachus can't help but smile as you remind him to stay safe, he promises he will, even letting you ruffle his hair before he steps onto the ship.

Athena turns around, sensing someone approaching the chambers of the prince, sitting on the railing in her owl form in an instant.
"My prince? I've been so worried! Your mother is so mad at the suitors! And by the gods look at you! What have those monsters done!" Rushing over to the young man, your hands find their way to his cheeks, holding his face softly in your hands. "I-I'm fine! Don't worry! Just some scratches!" He tried to assure you, looking over to Athena, who just gave him one last look before flying away, leaving him to your mercy. "My prince those aren't just scratches! The queen will be even more angry when she sees this!" Telemachus's face was littered with wounds, blood at the corner of his lips, scratches on his face, and a big one on his eyebrow. "Let me patch you up please, I don't want this to get infected." You softly grab his hand as you lead him to his vanity and sit him down, before gathering everything you need to clean his wounds.
Telemachus simply watches you with a rosy blush on his cheeks, would his mother see him right now she'd start preparing a wedding already. She was counting on you to become his fiance, having known you and your parents for years. You were born in the palace to your father, a warrior, he was away with the king for a long time now, probably dead, while your mother was the closest and most confidante maid she had. So you grew up in the palace, learning the ways to serve, and soon became the maid to the prince. He was barely two years older than you; in the last years, he had grown so much that he was now towering over you.
"This looks bad, my prince; how dare they hurt you like that.." You grumble as you wet cloth and softly clean the dried-up blood, holding his chin with your other hand carefully. Telemachus was watching you the whole time while doing so, admiring your scrunched up eyebrow and nose, concentrated eyes, and how your tongue slightly pokes out from the concentration.
"I'm fine don't w-worry! It's just a scratch!" He tries to assure you, but you just scoff at that; of course, he would say that. Wanting to argue back, you couldn't as a knock echoes through the room, straightening your back as the queen walks in. Bowing slightly you greet her respectfully, your own mother closed behind her. "M-Mother!" Her face was stern as she approached her son. "What happened?" Telemachus was obviously nervous to answer her, knowing very well she hates when he gets hurt, on top of the suitors being the cause of this. "They provoked me. I had to fight back!" Penelope looks at him, disappointed, shaking her head slightly. "You shouldn't have my son, look at your face; that will leave a nasty scar. What would your father say." Her hands were softly on his shoulders as her words enraged him. "He would be proud! Proud that I try to protect my house and mother!" Pulling back from her, he turns his back to her frustrated.
The queen lets out a sigh, looking over at you with thankful eyes for being with him right now and patching him up before she turns around and leaves, your mother also giving you one last look.
"My prince I need to finish cleaning your wounds." He's stood with his back to you, looking at the picture on his nightstand, an old picture; you weren't even born when this was made; he was merely an infant in the arms of his mother, the king, his father beside them. "He wouldn't want you to keep hurting. Let me finish, please." Softly, your hand lays on his arm as he shakes his head, frustrated.
Guiding him to sit down on his bed's edge now, you crouch down to sit in front of him on the floor after getting the utensils you need to clean the wounds. Grasping his hands softly to clean the knuckles that were bruised and bloodied from landing a few good punches on Antinous. "Why..? Why can't I be like my dad? He was amazing.. She would've never scolded him for fighting for her.." You noticed tears gathering in his beautiful eyes. "Oh dear, you're her only son; she is worried. You're just as great as your father, and someday you will see that too, my prince.." Tears fall from his eyes as your hand reaches up to carefully wipe the tears away.
You finish cleaning his knuckles before going to clean up everything you had used. Glancing over to Telemachus again to see his face in his hands, form crouched over and small. "Telemachus.. Don't beat yourself up so much.. Please.." Taking a seat beside him, you didn't treat him as your prince and weren't sitting down as his maid but as his childhood friend. You know you were crossing some lines; you were a servant, and you shouldn't stay longer in his chambers, let alone sit beside him on his bed. "You're an amazing person, remember that time we were kids? When I got bullied by some of the royal girls visiting? I wasn't able to defend myself because I am a mere servant; you stood up for me, telling them off, telling them how much more royal my personality was than their ugly ones." He slowly looks up at you, red and puffy eyes looking into your own. "So start thinking better of yourself alright?" Hand moving to rest on his damp cheeks, his face softly nuzzling against your hand, eyes closed.
"Thank you.." The words softly leave his mouth, before opening his eyes again to look at you. "Of course.. come here.." Opening your arms, he eased into your embrace, his own arms around your waist as his head came to rest on your shoulder. You know this was something he needed right now, a soft embrace to assure him everything was fine. "You're fine.." One hand is softly rubbing over his back, while the other one softly pats over his brown hair.
"I am.. Thanks to you." He leaves your embrace now with a smile. "I'll grow stronger for my family and you!" He has a grin on his lips now as he announces he will grow stronger. Looking over to his balcony now, you follow his gaze, gasping softly. "Woah.. An owl.. And such a pretty one at that too.." You smiled; the owl looked pretty, a light brown with a white spot, and the ends of her feathers looked like they shimmer gold in the sun. Telemachus, though, was shocked that Athena would show herself that easily and even speak to him in his head. 'I like that one, court her.' Before flying away, make you run onto the balcony to watch the owl fly away.
Telemachus quickly follows you as he watches Athena fly away, a bright red hue on his face from her words. "Oh my, you're so red! Do you have a fever?" Looking at him worried and before your hand could meet his forehead to check his temperature, he runs away laughing, yelling how his training should start now and he needs to get stronger, making you giggle and follow him, Argos quickly joining you two.

DINNER IS (finally) SERVED
3000ish words later and part 8 is here! hope you guys enjoy!
(p.s my headcanons explainations are in the tags if you're curious)
(p.p.s credit also goes to @rin-solo for the first headcanon )
the post/thread that started this whole au
dinner scene: part 1 | part 2 | part 3 | part 4 | part 5 | part 6 | part 7
there's a masterlist now!
*odysseus is making his way to the dining hall, while athena and poseidon are following behind*
poseidon: *looking around at the decorations/tapestry dotted around*
poseidon: *see’s a tapestry of what looks to be a very much younger odysseus in full king & armour attire*
poseidon: *stops walking, and turns to look at the actual odysseus in front of him, then back at the tapestry*
poseidon: *to odysseus with a sardonic tone* do your weavers like making you look like a boy, or was that a decision you made to make yourself look younger?
odysseus: *pauses his walking to see what poseidon is talking about*
athena: *also pauses and turns to poseidon*
odysseus: *sees the tapestry in question*
odysseus: *sighs* of course you point that one out
athena: *who knew odysseus before he was king*
athena: *glaring at poseidon* uncle, you shouldn’t make assumptions, especially when you don’t know the facts
odysseus: *pats athena on the shoulder as he passes her*
odysseus: it’s fine athena
odysseus: *next to poseidon and looking up at the tapestry* if you must know, that is actually the age i was.
poseidon: *not believing him* yeah right, you couldn’t be older than fifteen in this
odysseus: *turns to him with a sharp look* you’re correct, i was fifteen
poseidon: *slightly wary of odysseus’ mood* so… you became king at fifteen? isn’t that a little bit young for a mortal to rule a kingdom?
odysseus: *turns back to the tapestry* i was already the king, i was actually crowned when i was thirteen
poseidon: *shocked and confused* why would a child be given a kingdom to run?
odysseus: *looks down with a sad smile, at the memory of his father telling him about him losing his mind, and how sorry he was to place such a huge responsibility on his young son’s shoulders*
odysseus: well, i had no choice, but i would do it again if i had to…
odysseus: *turns to athena* besides, i had athena to help guide me
athena: *smiles with a nod at odysseus*
odysseus: *starts walking in the direction of the dining hall again* anyway…enough of that, can we please just make our way to the dining hall now
*they all continue making their way down the hall*
poseidon: *notices a stain on the floor tiles not far in front of them*
poseidon: *points* i think your servants missed a spot
athena & odysseus: *both look to where he’s pointing*
athena: *chuckles to herself in knowing*
odysseus: *smirks*
poseidon: *sees both their expressions, and is confused*
odysseus: oh that..oh don’t worry it’s clean
odysseus: *shrugs* it’s just so hard to get bloodstains out of white titles
poseidon: *wide eyed* blood?
odysseus: yeah.. not long after i finished with you, i arrived back on my island to find my palace overrun with 108…mutts… all vying for my wife’s hand.
odysseus: *waving his hand like it was a simple issue* so i made sure to deal with them all myself… unfortunately one of them left a stain.
odysseus: -oh look we’ve made it
odysseus: hope we haven’t kept them too long
poseidon: *shocked at all the new odysseus lore he’s unlocked*
athena: *laughing at poseidon’s expression*
odysseus: *opening the door* come on let’s head in
poseidon: *shakes away the shock*
odysseus: *to poseidon* i guess it’s time to introduce you to my wife
*they all walk through the doorway into the dining hall*
*there penelope and telemachus both stand not too far from the dining table; which has quite the feast laid out, and from the steam coming off of it, it had not long be put there*
odysseus: *heads over to his son & wife*
odysseus: *looks at poseidon* poseidon, you’ve met my son telemachus before.
telemachus: *can barely keep in his excitement*
telemachus: hi- i mean good evening lord poseidon, i’m so happ- grateful you accepted my father's invitation for dinner.
telemachus: *puts his arm on his chest, and leans forward in a  bow of respect* i hope you enjoy the evening.
odysseus: *narrows his eyes at poseidon, silently threatening him to not be rude to his son*
telemachus: *looks back up at poseidon, smile on his face*
poseidon: *quickly nods his head in greeting to telemachus* good evening prince, your father tells me that this was all your idea
telemachus: *raises a hand to nervously scratch under his chin* um… yes i guess it was
poseidon: well then, thank you for the idea to invite me.
telemachus: *hand leaves his chin and a big smile breaks out* well of course! you are my father’s friend after all!
poseidon: *eye twitches before he quickly composes himself*
poseidon: yes… friend.
odysseus: *coughs* yes and now that you’ve both reacquainted yourselves again… telemachus why don’t you go speak with athena for a moment
telemachus: sure!
*telemachus makes his way to athena, and they start talking amongst themselves*
odysseus: *puts his arm around penelope’s waist* now, please let me introduce you to my wife; the queen of ithaca, penelope.
penelope: *doesn’t bow like telemachus, but nods in greeting* welcome to our palace lord poseidon
poseidon: *nods back* thank you for having me queen penelope
penelope: *smiles but her eyes have a certain glint to them*
penelope: my husband has told me all about your part in his journey home to us
poseidon: *totally not panicking a little* uh-
penelope: *glint leaves her eyes, but her smile remains*
penelope: -and also how you have helped out on his and my son’s fishing trips lately.
penelope: of course, i would also like thank you for taking the time to attend tonight
poseidon: sure… no problem?
odysseus: great, everyone has met everyone!
odysseus: *to everyone* now, shall we sit down and eat the lovely feast the cooks have made us, before it gets cold?
odysseus: *moves to pull out one of the chairs at the head of the table for penelope as he normally does, when he notices that, there is only one chair instead of two*
odysseus: *looks up at the table and sees a piece of parchment with ‘mother’ written on it*
odysseus: huh?
telemachus: *makes his way over to his father* oh! there’s a different than usual seating plan for tonight! i’ve put everyone's names where they should sit.
odysseus: *smiles at telemachus* oh ok, sure!
odysseus: well, i guess i should look for mine then, hey?
telemachus: yes, and please everyone else too!
*everyone makes their way to the table to see where they’re sitting (even though three of them already know)*
odysseus: *sees the parchment with ‘father’ on it*
odysseus: *expecting to have either athena or telemachus next to him*
odysseus: *watches as athena stands in front of the seat opposite him*
odysseus: *thinks it’s weird to put athena & poseidon together, but thinks telemachus has done is as they are uncle & niece*
odysseus: *then sees telemachus stood in front of the seat next to athena*
odysseus: wait-
poseidon: *sees his name and heads towards it, only to look up and see odysseus standing in front of the seat next to him*
poseidon: wait-
poseidon & odysseus: *both look at each other in horror that they're stuck next to each other all evening*
telemachus: *not noticing the looks of doom on their faces* isn’t this great? it’s a family dinner, so what better than friends sitting together?
telemachus: *turning to penelope* sorry you’re by yourself at the head of the table though mother
penelope: *smiles and waves her hand* i don’t mind
penelope: anyway, let's sit and eat!
*everyone but odysseus and poseidon sit down. both who have a death grip on the back of their seats*
penelope: *clears her throat* odysseus, lord poseidon… would you both please sit down.
odysseus: *snaps out of his staring at poseidon*
odysseus: uh sure…
odysseus: *sits down and look back to poseidon, nodding his head at poseidon’s seat in the motion for him to also sit down*
poseidon: *still doesn’t sit*
odysseus: *a millisecond of a flash of red eyes*
poseidon: *sits*
odysseus: *internally to himself* oh this is gonna be a long evening
odysseus: *to everyone* ok, everyone dig in!
odysseus: *to poseidon* can you get what you want for yourself, mighty sea god? or do you need a mortal’s help?
poseidon: *grabbing a lamb chop off a platter and tearing into it savagely in defiance*
odysseus: *rolls his eyes at poseidon, but goes to place a filet of fish on his plate*
*everyone has been eating and talking*
poseidon: *looks at penelope (who is talking to telemachus & athena) and then looks at odysseus*
poseidon: *thinking and then looks back to penelope*
odysseus: *to poseidon* is there a reason you keep looking at my wife?
poseidon: *jumps at little at being caught looking*
poseidon: *turns to odysseus* oh do not worry yourself, i have no interest in your wife
odysseus: *unimpressed* why do you keep looking at her then?
poseidon: im..curious
odysseus: *narrowing his eyes* about?
poseidon: normally you mortal men choose women younger than them for their wives… yet clearly your wife is; from my estimates… about a decade older than you
poseidon: *now with his hand under his chin, leaning on the table*
poseidon: do you perhaps…prefer older women odysseus?
odysseus: *hands tighten in grip around his cutlery*
poseidon: *notices odysseus hasn’t responded yet*
poseidon: i’m right aren’t -
odysseus: no.
odysseus: *his eyes may not be red, but are clearly full of anger*
poseidon: *eyes widen in worry* whoa whoa! no need to get angry, it’s just a simple observation…. anyone if they pay attention can see the age difference
poseidon: *moves his hand to flick his hair back over his shoulder* it’s not a bad thing
odysseus: *takes a breath in to calm down and then slowly releases it*
odysseus: we are- were the same age… physically at least
poseidon: *confused* i don’t follow
odysseus: *looks at poseidon* during the 10 years it took for me to get home… i found myself stuck on a goddess’ island for 7 of them…
poseidon: ok…
odysseus: *closes his eyes* caly- the goddess had full control over everything on the island… her magic influenced everything… including a mortal's ability to age.
poseidon: so you didn’t-
odysseus: -age? yeah
odysseus: *sighs and opens his eyes* when i realised i wasn’t… i- i-
odysseus: lets just say i didn’t handle it well
poseidon: *blinks at this new information* oh
odysseus: yep ‘oh’ indeed…
odysseus: *looks back at poseidon*
odysseus: didn’t you think it was odd that i looked exactly the same when we met again, almost 10 years after our first meeting?
poseidon: in my defence… i was angry and trying to kill you, i wasn’t really paying attention to how you looked
odysseus: *rolls his eyes* i guess that's true
telemachus: uh lord poseidon? may i ask you a question?
poseidon: *happy to not continue his conversation with odysseus*
poseidon: *to telemachus* ask away prince of ithaca
telemachus: is it true that you gave achilles his horses balius & xanthus?
poseidon: *amazed at telemachus’ knowledge*
poseidon: not directly… but yes i am the reason he came to acquire them. you see i gave them to his father peleus, as a wedding gift for his wife thetis…
*poseidon continues to tell the tale, and odysseus speaks with athena and penelope while more time passes*
*the meal is continuing smoothly as can be*
poseidon: *notices that odysseus has only been eating the fish. not touching a single bit of pork, beef or lamb that's also on the table*
poseidon: *who has continuously eaten all meats available*
poseidon: *to odysseus* is there something i should know about the meat?
odysseus: huh?
poseidon: *points at the selection of meat in question* what's wrong with the meat? you’ve only touched the fish.
poseidon: if i hadn’t seen the others eat it, i’d worry you’d asked your cooks to poison it or something.
odysseus: *raised eyebrow* poison won’t hurt you though?
odysseus: *pointing a fork at him* also, why do you care about my eating habits?
poseidon: *frowning at the fork* i don’t, i’m just-
odysseus: curious? poseidon, i thought you were the god of the sea, not curiosity…
poseidon: *huffs* forget it-
odysseus: i can’t
poseidon: *now his eyebrow is raised* you…can’t?
odysseus: *now using the fork to push the food on his plate around* i can’t stomach eating lamb, pork or beef anymore
poseidon: *forever confused by odysseus* uh why?
odysseus: *gives poseidon a ‘do i really have to explain everything?’ look*
poseidon: *just stares*
odysseus: *once again sighing because of poseidon* well i thought you’d understand lamb… after the whole sheep incident with… your son.
odysseus: then after i escaped you with the wind bag-
poseidon: *rolls his eyes at the memory*
odysseus: we wound up on the sorceress circe’s island… where she turned my men to pigs.
odysseus: i managed to convince her to turn them back, but it now feels weird to eat pork
odysseus: as for beef, short story is my men ignored my warnings and killed the sacred cattle of the sun god… so yeah beef is a no go for me also.
poseidon: *wondering how one mortal managed to interact with so many gods on a journey to get home*
poseidon: *laughs at odysseus* and you’re letting that affect your eating habits? i expected you to be stronger than that odysseus
odysseus: *narrows his eyes at poseidon* oh just like how you let my handling of your trident, affect you into doing as i say?
poseidon: *now glaring back*
poseidon: *turns away from odysseus* whatever, more meat for me
*dinner continues, with telemachus asking poseidon more questions. poseidon loving the interest in him and telelmachus’ knowledge, answers the all the questions with surprising enthusiasm*
*eventually what was once a giant feast of food has nearly been cleared from the table, thanks to having two gods eating most of it*
telemachus: have you enjoyed yourself so far lord poseidon?
telemachus: *smiling* it’s been really fascinating and fun to learn so much more about you
poseidon: *almost letting a small smile appear on his face in return*
poseidon: *instead just nods* yes, it certainly has been an interesting & knowledgeable evening
telemachus: what about the seating, was it a good idea to put you with my father?
poseidon: *wants to answer no, but feels a kick from under the table. clearly from odysseus*
poseidon: yes, you came up with an ok-
odysseus: *gives another kick*
poseidon: -great idea
telemachus: *laughs in happiness*
telemachus: oh but i can’t take all the credit
odysseus: *raises an eyebrow in curiosity*
athena: *who is sipping wine next to him*
athena: *slightly chokes* wai-
odysseus: *suspicious* son, you must make sure to tell us who else to thank for this
telemachus: *not understanding the bombshell he’s about to drop* oh athena actually came up with the idea!
athena: *suddenly nervous with the two very intense stares directed at her*
athena: w-well it was just a suggestion really…
telemachus: no ‘thena! remember you said as it’s a family dinner, friends should sit with friends!
odysseus: *to athena with the fakest smile* oh athena, how considerate!
penelope: *who has been quiet this whole exchange*
telemachus: *as if he hasn’t already unknowingly thrown one person to the wolves* but i of course had to run it by mother first, as she was helping me with all the planning!
penelope: *eyes have totally not widened*
telemachus: she said it was a great idea!
odysseus: *now to penelope* oh my dear wife, a great idea eh?
poseidon: *just chugs back his cup of wine at the revelations*
*after a awkward moment (at least for 4 of them) they continue on finishing the meal*
*eventually the food is finished and the dinner has come to an end, everyone has moved away from the dinner table and are now sitting on cushion chairs or standing around them talking amongst themselves*
poseidon: *looking out the window seeing just how dark the night sky now is*
poseidon: well this has been a lovely evening, but it is getting late and i have been away from the sea for as long as i can.
poseidon: *turning to penelope and nodding his head in actual respect* queen penelope, thank you for your hosting
poseidon: *without nodding at them* athena, odysseus… good night.
*before poseidon can turn to bid telemachus good night, the prince runs out the room*
telemachus: *yelling before he leaves the room* please lord poseidon, wait a moment! i forgot something!
poseidon: *turns to look at odysseus in confusion*
odysseus: *just shrugs also confused*
poseidon: *turns back to the door, telemachus long gone* uh sure.
*not long later telemachus runs back into the room dishevelled but holding something in his hand*
telemachus: *walks up to poseidon*
telemachus: *bows and holds out something covered in a silk cloth to him*
poseidon: uh-
telemachus: it’s a gift! i’m not expecting anything in return, and i’m sure you have better things… but i saw it and thought you’d like it
poseidon: *blinks, but takes the gift from telemachus’ hands*
poseidon: *carefully unties the silk cloth*
poseidon: *breathes in sharply*
telemachus: *not sure if that's a good or bad reaction* uh if you don’t like it that's fin-
poseidon: *holds his hand to stop telemachus*
poseidon: prince of ithac-
telemachus: telemachus- sorry for interrupting. please my lord, call me telemachus
poseidon: …telemachus. thank you, this is a very thoughtful gift.
poseidon: i will cherish it.
penelope & odysseus: *curious over what's got the god of the seas ‘cherishing’ something*
athena: *small smile as she knows*
*penelope & odysseus move closer to poseidon who is still staring down at his gift. once close enough they can see in his hand is a a handcrafted glass/crystal hippocampus*
*poseidon ended up wrapping it back in the silk cloth, and placing it in his chiton. He then thanked telemachus again and bid him good night & farewell. odysseus offered to walk back to the cove with him, but poseidon waved him off and told him to stay with his family*
#poseidon: *returned home back to his palace*#poseidon: *once again looking at the gift this time with a small smile on his face*#amphitrite: *looking at poseidon* whatcha got there?#poseidon: *stuffs telemachus’ gift into his chiton* uh… uh…MOLY?!#amphitrite: *raised eyebrow* the king of ithaca… odysseus gave you…moly?#poseidon: this isn't from odysse- *cough* i mean; no… he didn't#poseidon: it's from his son.#amphitrite: *now both eyebrows raised in disbelief* the prince gave you moly?#poseidon: *panicking as he's the god of the seas not of lies*#poseidon: well they're descended from hermes… he practically hands out this stuff as you know…#amphitrite: uh huh... what ever you say husband#okay headcanon 1 - calypso said 'under my spell we're stuck in paradise' & to me this made me think well if she controls everything#then surely a goddess' magic can have other consequences like stopping a mortal aging. or extremely slowly aging.#once poor odysseus realises he wasn't getting older but his son and wife would be...he broke fearing he'd outlive them#calypso obvs doesn't also want the love of her life getting old/dying on her too#also credit to @rin-solo for this head canon too!#headcanon 2 - it actually happened while i was eating a burger. i thought man i'd struggle to eat any meat after all what ody went through#and so thats how that came to be! i believe he will eat goat/rabbit/chicken etc. but fish is easier with y'know ithaca being a island#so telemachus' gift has been revealed! i thought a hippocampus would be better that just a sea creature or horse. why not both?#also there will be a part 9...ody's revenge/punishment for athena and penelope's seating plan#but i need a small break after this monstrosity#odysseus epic#poseidon epic#telemachus epic#penelope epic the musical#epic the musical#epic: the musical#friends in higher places au?#nonsense thoughts

could i pls have headcanons of yandere Antinous x princess of Ithaca/daughter of Pen n Ody reader 🙏🙏🙏
antinous oh antinous the things i'd do to you
Yandere!Antinous x Princess of Ithaca!Reader ♡
cw: mdni. nsfw mentions. non-con/dub-con implied. yandere. antinous starter pack: manipulation and questionable consent. murder. pregnancy. non-descriptive birth. i have issues.
The queen was a stubborn wretch, refusing to pick a new king. She believed Odysseus was still out there, that he'd come back. Antinous might not be a chosen of Athena, but he's not a fool, either. He knows she's stalling.
And while other suitors insist on trying to get to Penelope somehow, Antinous figured that there might be an easier way to secure his place in the royal family.
After all, Telemachus wasn't necessarily the only choice for the king. There was also his twin sister. Odysseus never named his heir, so it could be either of the twins.
Or rather, the son or the daughter's husband. So why not become just that?
And while at first it was just about the throne, the more he watched you, the more he followed you around... the more he started to crave you.
The need to possess you was no longer just his desire for just the throne, no... he wanted you.
He wanted the princess of Ithaca to be his. He wanted to tear her dress to shreds, to see her naked body shaking and she whimpered and squirmed under him in bed. He wanted to see pretty tears running down her soft cheeks, maybe even watch her struggle a bit as she tried to keep her dignity at first, before surrendering to him.
And even if she tried to fight, tried to get him to leave... He could simply hold her down, could he not?
But, since she seemed like such a sweet young thing, he decided to play it safe. After all, if she falls for him genuinely, it'll all be so much easier.
Besides, with young, kind souls like hers, it really didn't even take that much effort. Antinous was a charismatic bastard. And the princess was innocent, lacking experience when it came to romance.
Of course, there was hesitance at first, but all it took was a sad little act about how he let himself get lost in his ambition and the young princess immediately looked at him with a more merciful, understanding gaze.
With that, obtaining her friendship and affections was just a matter of time and charm. Say what you want about Antinous, but he could be one charming motherfucker if he so wished.
He didn't even need three months before sneaking into your bedroom at sunset, his words wrapping around your heart and brain like constricting snakes around their victims.
And despite how hesitant the princess was about giving up her precious innocence, she really didn't need much convincing. She loved him, after all, and he loved her. She shouldn't overthink things, she should simply give herself to him, let him ravage her.
Did it really matter that it hurt? It was supposed to, she was a smart girl, she should know that. She should trust him. Love him. He loved her, after all, he kept whispering so into her ears as she sobbed softly, her whole body trembling from the rough yet oddly delicate treatment. It seemed to be something only he could do, to violate her so lovingly.
And of course, he couldn't just stop after the first time, no... He had to visit her each night, fill her up, make sure his seed would take, binding the two of them forever.
Once the pregnancy was confirmed, he was quick to rid the palace of all the other suitors, one by one, before he finally asked Penelope for her daughter's hand in marriage, bringing the shared "love" to attention and saying he even made all the others leave to prove himself.
And even despite how hesitant the queen was, she gave in to how much the princess insisted.
And for the first few months, he seemed like a dream husband, always by his wife's side, helping her through the pregnancy, willing to make every wish come true, not even a flash of irritation on his face despite how ridiculous the princess's whims might've been.
But when the faithful day came, he was late. By the time he finally appeared, the mother of his child was too vulnerable to question the blood on his hands as he cradled her face, offering hushed reassurances before the room was filled with the sound of a newborn baby crying as it was forced to greet the world, torn out of its mother's womb.
The princess only found out why her husband was late and bloody a few days later, as Antinous was crowned king. He used the chaos that surrounded the birth to kill Penelope and Telemachus. Fortunately for him, his precious wife was too far gone in his manipulations to even try to rebel against him. Instead, she remained by his side, forever faithful with his firstborn in her arms.
And she'll have more. His previous little queen.

Description: you have forgotten your past with Odysseus and Penelope, but you still have an empty place in your heart. You have tried several times to throw yourself off the mountain and find peace. And when Odysseus wakes up on Calypso's island, a sudden thunderclap sounds that briefly shakes the world...
AN: This is the last part of this story, how do you like the plot? I hope you liked this fanfiction, I had a lot of fun writing it!

Emptiness filled you when you were torn from your dream. The dream was a paradise for you, you felt free again after such a long time. Free from the gods, free from the pain, free from the emptiness in your soul and your heart. But the dream shattered when delicate hands glided over your sleeping form and shook you awake. When you opened your eyes you looked into the face of the beautiful Aphrodite, goddess of love and beauty. "Oh my darling, you don't have to sleep out here," her voice rang out, filled with concern. With her help you slowly got up and yawned quietly, mourning your dream. But as soon as you realized where you were, the emptiness filled you again. It locked you in a loneliness that no god in the world could have filled. Aphrodite took you into the great hall, you were like a doll that only moved when someone pulled you behind her. Aphrodite didn't let go of your hand either, it had always been like this ever since you tried several times to throw yourself off the mountain. A god always had a hand on you, whether they held your hand, put an arm around your shoulder or waist, or carried you in their arms. Aphrodite pulled you next to her, and so the days passed in which you lived like a doll.

Reader POV:
I sat at the window of the temple of Athena, the goddess who still treated me as a human. She was my favorite of all because she didn't force herself on me, I waited for her because she was visiting a mortal. When she came back there was a thoughtful expression on her face, as if something was bothering her. "Lady Athena?" I began, "What are you thinking about?" I completed my question. When she looked at me her gaze softened and a slight smile graced her lips before she answered me. "You know, I once had a boyfriend but we parted ways years ago," her voice rang out, she sounded so serious. "But now I know that I have to make it right again." She said seriously. I nodded at her, she told me about her plan to convince her father Zeus to release her friend. I was slowly becoming curious who this friend was, but she didn't really answer that question. I listened carefully to Athena's plans to convince Zeus. Once she mentioned the name of the friend she wanted to save, but the name sounded unfamiliar to me and I can't remember what it was. "I really hope you can free your friend, Lady Athena." I smiled gently at the goddess of wisdom, I felt most comfortable and understood around her. But she still couldn't fill the void, I knew that she was trying too and that made me feel very guilty towards her.

On Ithaca the sun was high in the sky, suitors gathered in the halls of the palace and craved the attention of the queen: Penelope. Penelope had now waited 16 years for her husband Odysseus and her future wife (Y/N). She missed them both from the bottom of her heart but also had to be there for her people and her son. The Queen of Ithaca knew that something was wrong because her memories of (Y/N) were also blurry. It was as if something, or rather someone, was trying to destroy the connection the three had with each other. Penelope sat at her loom and continued weaving the picture she was working on and thought about the past but could only remember the time with Odysseus and slowly the memories of the young woman she and Odysseus once loved disappeared completely. Telemachus, who was standing in the large garden of the palace, stared at the statue of his father. In his hand he held a small book that was bound in leather. A diary of his father that he had found back then, in it was written everything about the woman who had followed him into the war after Telemachus was born, (Y/N) future wife of Odysseus and Penelope. For a moment, the young prince's eyes glowed gold. "Destroy it." A woman's voice rang out, and Telemachus tried to ignore it again like he had done for the last few months since he had found the book about (Y/N). He wanted to get to know her and love her like his parents did, but this person was against it.

??? POV:
I had to prevent her existence from being passed on, and the little prince didn't make it easy. I had already robbed Penelope and Odysseus of their memories of her. And I was responsible for her forgetting her previous life. Now I just had to convince the Prince of Ithaca and everything would go according to plan. My golden eyes took over the prince's again and I finally had full control over the boy. As Telemachus I walked through the halls, ignoring his mother's suitors because I had to destroy this book. I came to a carmine and threw the book in there where I watched as it was destroyed in the fire, this filled me with satisfaction. "Telemachus, what are you doing?" I turned around in shock and saw his mother, the Queen of Ithaca, standing in front of me, looking questioningly into the fire. "Nothing mother, I'm just burning your suitors' letters." I answered and she nodded before stroking his head lovingly. "Thank you, Nyx," she said before turning away and disappearing back into her room. Shortly afterwards I left the boy's body and made my way to Hades, who asked me to do all this.

The light shone brightly on the Queen of the Gods Hera. "Never once had he cheated on his wife," Athena's voice rang out. Hera, who immediately recognized that Athena was telling the truth, looked angrily at her husband. "Release him," her words sounded sharp and were aimed directly at Zeus. Zeus, who had been sitting completely relaxed on his throne until now, twitched his eyebrows. Had Athena tried to embarrass him? She shouldn't get away with that, she wants a fight? She'll get it. The clouds closed in before it started to thunder and flash loudly. When you saw the storm, you just stared up at the sky.
°•○☆○•°♡°•○☆○•°♡°•○☆○•°♡°•○☆○•°♡°•
Y/N POV
It was strange, my whole body started to shake but not out of fear. Poseidon, who was sitting next to me, put an arm around me to calm me down, but it didn't work. And slowly they came back, memories that had disappeared. Absolutely everything came back into my head like a wave and I stood up before I stared angrily at Poseidon, "You killed 558 men, you monster." I accused him. But before he could answer, my legs started running. I knew that I would never be able to escape from here and that there was only one chance. I could only escape from eternal imprisonment if I...

Everything suddenly fell silent when a loud thunder shook the world. Odysseus, who had already been imprisoned on Calypso's island for seven years, raised his head when he heard that. Athena, who was supposed to be struck by lightning, stared in horror at your figure that had been struck by lightning. The world stopped turning and everything seemed bright to you. Your body felt an endless pain that didn't last long. The gods rushed towards you and Apollo was the first to reach you, lifted you in his arms and tried to heal you, but as soon as he put his hand on your body, it shattered into a thousand pieces that slowly dissolved into nothing. Your existence had been wiped out, at least for the moment. At the same time in the underworld, Hades sat on his throne, he could observe everything that happened on Olympus. He knew that the gods were beside themselves with anger and grief, but that was the only way he could save you. He had found out about you early on through his wife Persephone and felt sorry for you, so he had sent Nyx with the task of wiping out your existence. But he knew that now you would be able to live a life without all the pain.

Y/N POV
I tried to open my eyes, everything was so quiet that it was already too loud for me. Every now and then I saw old, long-forgotten memories, my parents, Odysseus, Penelope, the war and more. Then I suddenly felt a warmth shining on my face and a loud noise. "What...?" I said in a scratchy voice before slowly opening my eyes.
°•○☆○•°♡°•○☆○•°♡°•○☆○•°♡°•○☆○•°♡°•
The morning sun was shining in the sky and filling the room of the girl with the (H/C) hair with golden light. When she opened her (E/C) eyes she found herself in her room again. She sat up sleepily and rubbed the sleep from her eyes that was still blinding her perception. When she forced herself to get up to turn off the alarm, she let her gaze wander out the window. It was a beautiful spring day and the sun was shining pleasantly on her face. She let this moment sink in and relaxed completely. The young woman went through the day she had planned in her head. When she opened her eyes she started to get ready, she put on a white long-sleeved blouse and simple black high-waisted jeans. She looked over at a shelf where her jewelry was, she took a gold chain with a sun pendant from the shelf. She had had this chain since she was born, it was tradition in the family that every member receives such a chain as a gift after birth. She also decorated her fingers with gold rings. After putting on matching sneakers the young woman looked in the mirror and nodded contentedly, in the mirror she looked at her desk and remembered that she had to slowly make her way to university. As she went to the desk she looked at a book, it was the Odyssey which they were currently discussing at university. The young woman loved history in every respect, but the Odyssey in particular had won her heart even if it seemed to her as if something was missing from it. Like a person who was never mentioned or was intentionally removed? As the young woman was packing her bag she stared at a fruit that had not been on the table yesterday, a pomegranate….

Telemachus x Apollo Blessed! Reader

Chapter six
Masterlist
Yall know the vibe by now… this one’s a bit shorter, sorry :p
Two weeks later…
✦ . ⁺ . ✦ . ⁺ . ✦ . ⁺ . ✦ . ⁺ . ✦
Telemachus was sitting in bed, dog curled up near his feet and slowly snoring into the late night.
Body resting against the backboard of his bed as he strummed the practice lyre that you had gifted it. Having bought it with him in the town marketplace before one of your lessons, which you’ve had multiple of by now.
He was trying to pluck the strings the way you told him to, and not too harshly like he did instinctively. But he couldn’t help but pull too hard like it was a fight. Music was meant to be handled with care, not brutality.
It was hours after sunset, and the entire palace was asleep. Yet he hadn’t even considered joining the resting world.
Right before the prince could get the notes to hit at the correct time, a familiar figure showed up in his window and stood tall. Blocking the moon light and making him sit up straighter, putting the instrument into his lap.
“Athena?” He asked, squinting his face and scrunching his nose to make out a silhouette from the moonlight. Petting his dog to not disrupt him from his rest at his feet.
Her tall figure and metal helmet gave an obvious and imposing impression in the room. Even though she had visited him many times, all the same divine entrance, he couldn’t help but let out surprise at her presence.
She simply stood still for a few seconds before moving towards his bed and gesturing her chin to the lyre in his lap. “You’re still practicing on that instrument?” Shoulders staying broad, she didn’t make any expressions or particular inflections in her observation.
Hearing this, he nodded sheepishly and moved the blanket over his legs to make room for him to cross his legs and hold the instrument more comfortably. “Well… yeah.” He admitted, letting out a single strum on the strings. Smiling when the song didn’t come out completely botched.
Looking on at his playing, the goddess let her shoulders relax down and arms rest at her sides instead of on her hips. “You shouldn’t spend so much time on one thing.” She began, sounding almost tired or bored. “And every time I visit it’s the same song.” Her voice was gentle, trying not to come off harsh or scolding despite her obvious lack of enthusiasm for his continuous songs.
Ignoring, or simply not noticing her distaste for his music, he looked at the lyre as it was something to be praised. The way he looks excitedly at papers of stories told of beasts and myths that heros wrote. “It’s the song she’s teaching me.” He told her, looking back up at her from the strings in his lap and smiling like a puppy. Cheeks getting plusher from the squish as a toothy grin took up part of his face. Eyes closed from the smile.
She looked at him, unable to ignore the feeling of nostalgia in her heart. Did he know he looked so much like his father?
Clearing her head and throat, she looked back out the window from which she came into the late night sky. “I know, you’ve mentioned.” She quipped, not liking to acknowledge the similarities he held so closely with a young Odysseus. She was just happy it was dark so he couldn’t read her face as well as he usually did.
He looked back down at his lap, not fiddling with anything but just looking and thinking.
Eventually, he spoke up with the same fiery determination Athena appreciated him for. “I need to practice so I can get better. She’s my teacher, I wanna impress her.” He claimed, gripping the sides of the instrument tightly while holding it out in his outstretched arms. Enjoying the way the moonlight bounced off the strings like raindrops.
She watched her student with the same knowing expression she had when Odysseus was beginning to fall for Penelope.
However, she never knew anything about romance. Only able to recognize it due to Telemachus’ resemblance to his father’s behavior. So, she decided to use her more knowledgeable skills to try and help a little bit.
“You can also impress her with your strength and cunning. With what I know you’re talented at.” She offered, speaking in a stiff way at the awkwardness she felt speaking of love. She wasn’t Aphrodite, but it didn’t take the goddess of love to see the boy begin to grow feelings.
The prince put the lyre back onto his lap, looking at Athena as she spoke. His face lit up, as if he was talking about his favorite topic. “Yeah… but you should see the way she lights up when she talks about music!” He beamed, smiling at the memory of your passion. Continuing, he trailed off slightly as he looked past Athena and out the window to the calm night. “That light in her eyes…” He whispered, smiling to himself while biting the inside of his cheek in thought.
Silence took over the duo, both thinking with their eyes out the window.
Athena facing her back to Telemachus, unable to shake the feeling of nostalgia that seemed inescapable when it came to the prince. He had no idea how much he was like his father, or how every new thing was a carbon copy of what happened some 20 years ago with Odysseus.
You and Penelope even had the same relationship with the boys, as if history was replaying before her eyes. Watching her student become a man she knew well, and who he longed to be.
Telemachus was not thinking of the past, but instead of the future. Planning in his head the next meeting you two would have. How he planned to impress you with his quick skills, even if half the time you didn’t actually play the instrument. Instead traveling around the island or talking about a random topic.
He wanted to show you he cared about your passion, and could be involved in that section of your life.
Quietly, he spoke again. Letting his voice travel through the night in a small question. “Athena?”
“Yes?” She hummed, turning around and looking back at the boy before her. Both appreciating the quiet nature of the night, soft and gentle.
“Do you think you could help me learn faster? You have wisdom, so can you give me some?” He asked, despite the question being undeniably childish. He couldn’t help but ask, wanting to do all he could for you. A girl he barely knew besides the fact that every moment spent with you feels perfect,
She crossed her arms, but spoke gently. Nevertheless, her wise words come off as half lecture, half advice. “I have wisdom, but not in music. All I can wisely say is that this practice is ruining your sleep by keeping you awake at night.” She gestured to the late night, and the absolute silence of the surrounding dark.
He however wasn’t disheartened by this, continuing to try and convince his way into gaining some kind of help, “I need to get better. You said it yourself that practice is necessary.” He reasoned, picking up the lyre and holding it out to her.
She shook her head, putting down the instrument with a gentle push by her fingers. Letting her get a clear view of his face. “Not for something like this. Music is okay, but it’s consuming your life.”
He looked at the strings and spoke in a dejected tone. “I’m bad at it, and I need to get better for her.”
She huffed, not appreciating how she couldn’t offer her help. So she did all she could, be honest.
“You’re a good kid Telemachus. If you want to impress her, just be yourself and she’ll like you.” Sighing at his obvious obliviousness, she gave one last quip before turning towards the window and night. “She already does.”
His eyes widened, as he put the lyre down and his face whipped in the direction of the goddess.
“She does?!” He called, but before he could get an answer Athena transformed into her typical owl form and flew out into the night. Wings spanning and creating a shadow from blocking the moon.
Leaving Telemachus in a temporary darkness. “Wait, don’t go… bye Athena.”

Under the olive tree
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
P1 P2 P3
sum up : Reader and Telemachus have never been close. They hated each other in ways that couldn't been understood. You were one of the last faithful soldiers to the queen. So when Penelope gives reader the responsibility of looking over the prince in secret, she has no other choice but to accept. But soon she discovers that the young spoiled prince she knew is being trained by Athena herself. Will she betray his trust ?
warning : some changes of pov, kinda enemies to lovers
The moon hung high over Ithaca, silver light spilling over the training field. Telemachus moved through his drills, sword cutting the air with more precision than yesterday. He was getting stronger. Faster.
You hated to admit it.
Perched in the branches of an ancient olive tree, you watched silently. You weren’t supposed to be here. At least, not in a way he’d notice. Queen Penelope had asked you to watch over him in secret, a task you’d accepted without hesitation.
You owed her that much.
Even if you couldn’t stand the sight of her son.
But you weren’t the only one watching him tonight. Athena lingered in the shadows, her gaze steady and proud. Your throat tightened at the sight. Gods weren’t supposed to pick favorites. They weren’t supposed to leave the rest of you behind. Gods were ommortal and had no idea of what mortals could lose.
Telemachus had always had everything handed to him — a palace, a loving mother, a legend for a father. And now a goddess.
Meanwhile, your father had marched to Troy alongside his and never come home.
Tumblr media
Flashback — Years Ago
The sun was blistering that day. Children played near the palace courtyard, laughter ringing through the air. You hated the sound of it. Your father was gone. There was nothing to laugh about.
Still, you stayed close to the palace. Your mother said the queen was kind, and you believed her.
But then Telemachus found you.
“You shouldn’t be here,” he said, voice high and sharp, his face scrunched in something between a scowl. “This is the royal courtyard.” He was ten, and so were you, the suitors had just arrived at the palace.
“I’m waiting for the queen,” you snapped, not moving.
His eyes narrowed, these days only bad people wanted to see his mother. “She doesn’t want to see you.”
Your chest tightened, heat rising to your face. You didn’t believe him — but it still hurt.
“My father’s fighting with yours,” you shot back. “He’s a hero too.”
Telemachus’s face twisted, he didn't know his father, yet everyone around him was revolving around his stories and how he looked like him. Just a painful reminder of what was missing. “No, he’s not. My father’s the one who’ll end the war. Yours is just another soldier.”
The words cut deeper than you expected.
“You’re just a spoiled little prince,” you spat, voice shaking. “You think you’re better than everyone else, but you’re not. You’re weak.”
His face went red. You saw the moment he wanted to hit you — but he didn’t really know how. He just turned and walked away, leaving you standing there, fists clenched and heart pounding.
That moment was the undying source of your hate ever since then.
Tumblr media
Present Day
He knew he was being watched.
Telemachus didn’t know how he knew — the rustle of leaves, the weight of a stare, the feeling prickling at the back of his neck — but he wasn’t alone. Not tonight.
He didn’t stop swinging his sword, though his grip faltered. Athena had told him to keep training, to grow stronger. He wasn’t a boy anymore. He wasn’t the prince hiding behind his mother’s skirts.
But it wasn’t the goddess’s gaze he felt now. It was yours.
He hated that he recognized it. Hated that he knew exactly what it felt like to be under your scrutiny.
You’d hated him first — that day in the courtyard, when he was too young and too stupid to stop himself from saying something cruel. He didn’t even know why he said it. He only remembered the way you looked at him afterward. Like he was nothing.
That look still burned in his memory. So painful, because all he wanted was to know he'll be fine in the end.
Tumblr media
He saw you.
You knew the second his sword lowered. His eyes locked on you, a flicker of recognition and annoyance flashing in them.
“How long have you been watching me?” he called, voice sharp.
“Long enough,” you said, dropping from the tree. You landed gracefully, your own sword clattering against your side.
His expression darkened. “Let me guess — my mother sent you.” You didn’t answer. His scowl deepened.
“Of course she did,” he muttered bitterly. “She thinks I need protecting.” “She’s right,” you snapped before you could stop yourself.
His eyes flared with something dangerous. “I don’t need your help.”
“Well, that’s good,” you shot back. “Because I’m not here to help. I’m here to make sure you don’t die.”
Tumblr media
He didn’t expect you to stay quiet.
He didn’t expect you to look at him — really look at him — and then, instead of mocking him like you used to, you stepped closer.
“You’re training with Athena.” Your voice wasn’t angry anymore. Just… tired. Telemachus stiffened. “How do you know that?”
“I’m not blind,” you said. “I saw her.” He swallowed hard. “You’re going to tell my mother.” You didn’t answer right away. He braced himself for the betrayal.
But then you surprised him.
“No,” you said quietly. “I won’t.” His head snapped up. “Why?”
You hesitated, then sighed. “Because you’re finally trying to be something more than a spoiled little prince.”
It wasn’t gentle — but it wasn’t cruel either. For the first time, he wondered if maybe he’d been wrong about you.
Tumblr media
He wasn’t what you thought he was.
You saw it in the days that followed. He wasn’t training for glory or power. He was training for Ithaca — for his people, for his mother. For a father who might never come home.
And you hated that it made you feel something.
Because the truth was, you weren’t what he thought you were, either.
You weren’t just a soldier. You weren’t just the angry little girl from the courtyard. You were someone who stayed, someone who fought for his family when the gods turned their backs.
And every time he looked at you now — really looked at you — you felt that truth settle deeper in your chest.
You weren’t sure when you stopped hating him.
You weren’t sure he ever really hated you at all.
Tumblr media
He wasn’t sure when it started — this… noticing.
Maybe it was the night you didn’t tell his mother about Athena. He thought you’d hold it over him like a weapon, like you always seemed to do. But you didn’t. You just left him standing there in the dark, more confused than angry for once.
The next day, he found himself watching you.
And he couldn’t stop.
Tumblr media
It started when you stood before the queen.
The suitors were louder than usual, their jeers filling the hall like smoke. Telemachus hated the way they spoke to his mother — the way they looked at her, like she was a prize to be claimed.
He was too far away to intervene without causing a scene, but before he could take a step forward, you were already moving.
“Mind your tongue.”
Your voice cut through the noise like a blade. The room went still.
Antinous — the worst of them — sneered. “The queen doesn’t need a guard dog.”
You didn’t flinch. “The queen doesn’t need a suitor who can’t hold his wine, either.”
Telemachus felt his heart jolt. He expected Antinous to strike you for that — but he didn’t. He just glared, like he didn’t know whether to be furious or impressed.
And then you looked at Penelope, eyes steady and unwavering. The queen nodded once, a quiet kind of gratitude passing between you.
Telemachus stared, his stomach twisting in a way he didn’t recognize.
He wasn’t used to seeing someone fight for his mother — not like that. Not like it was second nature.
He wasn’t sure why he felt the urge to thank you.
Tumblr media
It didn’t stop there.
Telemachus saw you again the next morning, down by the market. He didn’t mean to linger — he was supposed to meet Athena — but he stopped when he noticed you.
A young boy sat by the road, his tunic torn, his face smeared with dirt. One of the suitors' men had knocked over his basket of figs, leaving them scattered and trampled. The boy looked like he wanted to cry.
You knelt beside him. Telemachus expected you to tell him to stop sniveling, to pick himself up like you always told him.
But you didn’t.
Instead, you pressed a coin into his palm, then gathered what was left of his fruit. “Go on,” you said softly. “Before the rest is ruined.”
The boy blinked up at you, wide-eyed, before scrambling to his feet and running off.
Telemachus stared after him — then back at you.
You weren’t even looking. You just turned and walked away like it didn’t matter.
Like it was normal.
Like it was nothing.
Tumblr media
The last time, he found you training.
It was late. Too late. The moon was high, and the rest of the palace was asleep. He should have been asleep too — but restless energy dragged him out of bed. His body ached from Athena’s drills, but his mind wouldn’t quiet.
He wandered the palace grounds without thinking. That’s when he heard it.
The sound of a sword slicing through the night air. He followed the sound, half-expecting to find Athena waiting for him.
It wasn’t Athena. It was you.
You moved like a shadow — fast, fluid, relentless. Sweat clung to your skin, hair sticking to your face, but you didn’t stop. Your sword cut through an invisible enemy, over and over again. Your feet barely touched the ground.
Telemachus had never seen you fight like this. He knew you were good — you were one of the best — but this wasn’t just skill. This was hunger. Desperation.
You weren’t training to impress anyone. You weren’t training to win.
You were training to survive.
He watched you until his throat tightened, until his chest ached with something unfamiliar and sharp. He didn’t understand it.
But he couldn’t look away.
Tumblr media
The next morning, he caught himself staring at you again.
This time, you noticed.
“What?” you snapped, brow furrowing.
Telemachus opened his mouth, then shut it again. He didn’t have an answer. He didn’t know how to tell you that you weren’t who he thought you were anymore.
Or maybe… you never were.

୨୧┇pairing: Telemachus x reader
୨୧┇warnings: WRITTEN BEFORE THE ITHACA SAGA
“My love I’m finally home!”
────୨ৎ──── ────୨ৎ──── ───
As Telemachus’s ship neared the coastline, the familiar silhouette of Ithaca came into view. The salty breeze carried a bittersweet weight, reminding him of home and of the uncertainty that awaited him there. Yet, even as his heart swelled with longing, Athena’s voice echoed in his mind from the night before.
“Dock at the western port, away from the eyes of others. It is safer there.”
He hadn’t questioned her. He never did. Her guidance had saved him countless times during his journey, and though the eastern port was closer to the palace, something in her tone told him this wasn’t a suggestion.
“Acrisios, steer west,” he called out.
His friend furrowed his brow but obeyed without protest, guiding the ship toward the quieter, rockier shore. The crew worked silently, their movements efficient, until the vessel was safely anchored. Telemachus jumped onto the sand, the familiar earth grounding him after weeks at sea.
“Why are we docking here?” Acrisios asked, hands on his hips as he eyed the deserted coastline.
“Athena’s orders,” Telemachus replied, his gaze scanning the surroundings. “She didn’t say why.”
Before Acrisios could respond, a figure emerged from the trees ahead, sprinting toward them. Telemachus squinted, his heart skipping a beat as he recognized the flowing hair and frantic movements.
“Y/N?” he murmured, his breath catching in his throat. She was running full speed, her face streaked with tears. Her dress was slightly disheveled, and her sandals kicked up clouds of dust as she hurried toward him. Telemachus dropped his pack and ran to meet her, his heart pounding.
“Y/N!” he called out, his voice filled with both relief and worry. When she finally reached him, she threw herself into his arms, clutching him tightly as sobs wracked her body. Telemachus held her close, his arms wrapping protectively around her as he murmured her name.
“Y/N, what’s wrong? What happened?” he asked, his voice trembling as he pulled back just enough to see her tear streaked face.
“They… they were going to kill you,” she choked out, her voice breaking. “Antinous and the suitors—they planned to ambush your ship at the eastern port. They wanted to throw you into the sea and… and force Penelope to choose one of them.”
Telemachus’s face hardened, his jaw clenching as anger and disbelief surged through him. “Antinous? My mother’s suitors?”
She nodded, her hands gripping his arms as if afraid he would vanish. “I overheard them… Antinous—he’s so blinded by hatred for you and his ambition for the throne. I didn’t know what to do. I just… I couldn’t let them hurt you.”Telemachus exhaled shakily, his heart breaking at the sight of her tearful, panicked expression. He reached up, brushing the hair from her face and wiping her tears with his thumb.
“it’s okay Y/N,” he whispered, his voice filled with gratitude. “Athena must have known. That’s why she told me to dock here.”
She clung to him, her body trembling as her sobs subsided. “I was so scared, Telemachus. I thought I’d lose you.”
He pulled her close again, pressing a kiss to the top of her head. “You won’t lose me, Y/N. Not now, not ever.”
Behind them, Acrisios cleared his throat awkwardly. “Uh, so… what’s the plan? Because this sounds…like not good.”
Telemachus straightened, his protective instincts flaring as he looked toward the palace in the distance. “The plan is to stop them,” he said firmly, his hand still resting on her back. “But first, I need to know everything. Y/N, tell me everything you overheard.”
She nodded, her voice steadier now as she began recounting the suitors’ plot. Telemachus listened intently, his resolve hardening with each word. Whatever it took, he would protect her, his mother, and his home.

Y/N and Telemachus stood near the ship, the sea breeze tugging at their hair as they exchanged soft laughter. Acrisios leaned against a nearby post, watching with a mix of annoyance and dread. He could already sense where this was going.
“Are you two done being gross yet?” Acrisios asked, crossing his arms and glaring at them.
Telemachus smirked, turning to Y/N with a mischievous glint in his eye. “What do you think, love? Are we done?”
She giggled, catching on to his plan. “Hmm, I don’t think so.” She leaned in, pressing her lips to Telemachus’s, and the two began kissing—slowly, and with far too much enthusiasm for Acrisius liking.
“By the gods,” acrisios muttered, groaning as he turned his gaze to the sky. “What did I do to deserve this? Zeus, Athena, anyone listening up there, get me out of this nightmare. Get a room!”
Telemachus pulled back just enough to glance at Acrisius, grinning. “What’s the matter, Acrisios? Feeling lonely? Maybe you should tell her how you feel when we get back to the palace.”
Acrisios froze, his eyes narrowing as a flush crept up his neck. “Don’t you dare—”
She tilted her head, curious. “Her? Who’s her?”
“Oh, you didn’t hear?” Telemachus said, feigning innocence as he kissed her cheek. “Our dear Acrisios has a little crush back home. Isn’t that right, Acrisios? Your father’s friend’s daughter, wasn’t it?”
Acrisios turned red, both from embarrassment and frustration. “You swore you wouldn’t bring that up!”
Telemachus laughed, pulling Y/N closer as if to shield himself from Acrisios’s glare. “I didn’t swear anything. Besides, we’re just talking about feelings. Isn’t love worth discussing?”
“I’m going to kill you,” Acrisios muttered, running his hands through his hair. “I swear, Telemachus, one more word and—”
“Relax, Acrisios,” Telemachus interrupted, now fully leaning into Y/N again. “Why don’t you take notes? Who knows, it might help you impress her when we get back.”
She snorted, burying her face in Telemachus’s shoulder to hide her laugh. Acrisios let out a long, exasperated groan, turning his back on them.
“You two are insufferable,” he muttered, stomping away toward the other side of the ship. “If anyone needs me, I’ll be praying to every god I know to send a storm and drown this madness.”
Telemachus couldn’t contain his laughter as he kissed Y/N’s temple. “I think he’s warming up to us.”
She rolled her eyes, but her grin betrayed her amusement. “You’re such a tease.”
“And you love it,” Telemachus teased before pulling her in for another kiss, knowing full well Acrisios could still hear their laughter echoing across the ship. As Acrisios stomped off, grumbling to the gods for mercy, a sly smirk suddenly crossed his face. He spun back around, leaning casually against the railing, arms crossed.
“You know,” he began, his voice dripping with mockery, “it’s funny how confident you are, Telemachus. Especially considering the night I caught you—what was it again? Oh, right. Naked, practicing with a pillow, muttering Y/N’s name.”
Telemachus immediately froze, his face flushing a deep crimson. “You—”
She blinked in confusion. “Practicing with a pillow? Telemachus, what is he talking about?”
“I—he’s lying!” Telemachus stammered, shooting Acrisius a glare that could rival Zeus’s lightning.
Acrisios chuckled darkly, clearly savoring the moment. “Oh, am I? Shall I paint the portrait for her, Telemachus? You were—what was it? Holding the pillow, all desperate, saying, ‘Oh, Y/N, I’ll be so good, I promise!’”
“Acrisios!” Telemachus barked, now completely flustered, while she stared at him with wide eyes before bursting into laughter.
“Oh my gods,” she gasped, clutching her stomach. “Is that true? You practiced on a pillow?”
Telemachus covered his face with his hands, his ears practically glowing red. “It was—it’s not what it sounds like!”
“Oh, it’s exactly what it sounds like,” Acrisios interrupted smugly. “And the best part? He got so into it that when I caught him, he practically jumped out of his skin. He’s lucky the pillow didn’t come to life from sheer embarrassment.”
She was laughing so hard now that tears streamed down her cheeks. “Telemachus, you’re adorable!”
“Adorable?” Telemachus groaned, glaring at Acrisius. “You’re dead, Acrisius. I swear, I’ll throw you overboard myself.”
But Acrisius only raised his hands in mock surrender, his grin unwavering. “Hey, you’re the one who decided to perfect your ‘skills’ on a pillow. I’m just here to share the good news.”
She leaned into Telemachus, still giggling. “I can’t believe you went to those lengths for me. That’s… kind of sweet, actually.”
“Sweet?!” Telemachus exclaimed, clearly mortified.
Acrisios gave a hearty laugh, turning to leave. “Well, I’ve had my fun. I’ll leave you two lovebirds to pillow talk.”
As he walked off, Telemachus groaned, burying his face in his hands again. “I’m never going to live this down, am I?”
“Probably not,” she teased, leaning in to kiss his cheek. “But I think it’s cute that you were so nervous about impressing me.”
Teasing as it was, the soft kiss made Telemachus feel a little better—though he was sure Acrisios would pay for this later.
Acrisios wasn’t done. Oh no, not yet. He turned back once more, arms folded and a mischievous glint in his eye. “You know, Y/N, that pillow story is just the beginning of how utterly pathetic he was over you on the voyage.”
Telemachus groaned, his hand already on his face. “Acrisios, don’t—”
But Acrisios was on a roll. “Oh, I must. She deserves to know the full story.” He smirked. “Like the time he tried carving your name into the mast and spelled it wrong halfway through because he was daydreaming about your ‘beautiful smile.’ The crew still laughs about that.”
Her eyes lit up with amusement. “You carved my name?”
Telemachus mumbled, “It wasn’t that bad.”
“Oh, but it was,” Acrisius said, grinning. “He panicked and tried to cover it up, so now the mast says ‘I/N,’ and he claimed it was a prayer to some obscure goddess of… what was it, Telemachus? Fishing?”
She burst out laughing again, and Telemachus turned a deeper shade of crimson. “It was just one mistake,” he muttered.
“One mistake?!” Acrisios snorted. “How about the time he made us stop at that random island because he thought he saw flowers that looked like the ones you like? Turned out they were just weeds, and we wasted a whole day while he dug around like some love struck idiot.”
She gasped through her laughter. “You stopped your entire voyage? For flowers?”
“They looked like the ones you liked!” Telemachus protested, his voice cracking. “How was I supposed to know they weren’t?”
Acrisios raised an eyebrow. “And let’s not forget how he insisted on fishing every single day, convinced he’d catch a rare sea fish ‘worthy’ of you. And guess how many he actually caught? None.”
She was in stitches now, clutching her sides. “Oh gods, Telemachus, you’re hopeless!”
“And don’t even get me started on how he lectured us all on how to be proper gentlemen, because apparently, ‘Y/N deserves nothing but the best.’” Acrisius mimicked Telemachus’s voice mockingly, earning a glare from his friend.
She wiped tears from her eyes, grinning ear to ear. “You really did all that for me?”
“Don’t encourage him,” Telemachus groaned, glaring daggers at Acrisius. “You’re just making it worse.”
But she leaned in, giving him a soft kiss on the cheek. “It’s sweet, Telemachus. You’re ridiculous, but sweet.”
“Ridiculously pathetic,” Acrisios added, snickering. “But hey, who am I to judge? I guess it worked. She’s still here.”
Telemachus shot him a warning look. “If you don’t leave right now, I swear by Poseidon’s trident, I’m going to—”
“All right, all right, I’m going!” Acrisios said, throwing his hands up in mock surrender. As he walked away, he muttered loud enough for them to hear, “I/N… honestly.”
Telemachus groaned, burying his face in her shoulder. “Why do I even keep him around?”
She just laughed, stroking his hair. “Because deep down, you love him too. And besides, now I have some hilarious stories to tell.”
Telemachus groaned again. “Great. Just great.”
——
As Telemachus leaned into Y/N’s embrace, his attention was suddenly caught by the soft sound of paws shuffling against the stone floor. His breath hitched as a figure slowly approached them—a familiar, graying dog, moving with measured steps.
“Argos?” Telemachus whispered, his voice tinged with disbelief.
The old dog’s ears perked up slightly at the sound of his name, his cloudy eyes lifting to meet Telemachus. Despite his age, there was still a spark of recognition in Argos’s gaze. Slowly but surely, he made his way toward the pair, his tail giving the faintest wag. She smiled softly and crouched down, holding out her hand. “Come here, boy,” she murmured, her voice gentle.
To Telemachus’s shock, Argos didn’t hesitate. He padded over and nuzzled her outstretched hand, his tail wagging a little more energetically now. Pandora ran her fingers through his fur, her touch careful and soothing.
Telemachus blinked in astonishment. “Wait… he lets you touch him?”
She glanced up at him, amused. “Why wouldn’t he? He’s a sweetheart.”
Telemachus shook his head, still staring at the scene before him. “Argos barely let anyone near him, especially after Father left. He was loyal only to him and mother. I mean, even I have to earn his attention most days.”
She chuckled, scratching behind Argoss ears as the dog leaned into her hand with a contented sigh. “Maybe he just knows I’m not a threat. Animals can sense these things, you know.”
“Or maybe he’s just as charmed by you as everyone else,” Telemachus muttered, crossing his arms but smiling faintly.
She gave him a playful look. “Jealous of your dog now?”
“No,” Telemachus said quickly, but his expression betrayed him. He knelt down beside Y/N and reached out to pet Argos as well. The dog’s tail thumped against the floor, and Telemachus felt a swell of emotion in his chest.
“I can’t believe he’s still here,” Telemachus murmured, his voice soft. “I thought… after all these months, I wasn’t sure if I’d ever see him again.”
She glanced at him, her teasing tone replaced by something gentler. “He’s been waiting for you, Telemachus. Just like the rest of us.”
Telemachus’s throat tightened, and he gave Argos a firm pat on the side, his fingers brushing against her as they both tended to the old dog. “I guess he’s smarter than I gave him credit for,” Telemachus said, his voice thick with emotion.
Argos let out a low, contented huff, resting his head on her knee. She smiled down at him, then looked up at Telemachus. “See? He approves of me. You should take notes.”
Telemachus laughed softly, the weight of everything they’d been through momentarily lifting. “Fine. You win. Argos likes you more than me.”
“And don’t you forget it,” she replied with a wink, her fingers still moving gently through Argos’s fur.
