Something extra for the punch-out catastrophic christmas night hcs I made a few days ago, now you'll know what the ugly sweaters glass joe gave were saying in french and in english. And yes I like to think that Glass Joe is kinda spunky in a way (and a bit sassy too) also as a bonus, have the way the boxers reacted to it

Von Kaiser: 'Oh mon Dieu, Monsieur le soldat, on a compris, vous avez fait la guerre, arrêtez de vous vanter tout de suite.' - 'Oh my god, mr. soldier we actually fucking get it, you were in the war stop bragging right now' (Kaiser actually speaks french and was OFFENDED by it, but since everyone was wearing the sweaters and didn't bother reading what they said, he didn't want to seem rude and just kept wearing it)

Disco Kid: 'Je vous assure que tout le monde se fiche que vous soyez si « bon » en danse que vous avez obtenu des trophées, ils sont vraiment stupides de toute façon.' - 'I assure you no one cares that you're so 'good' at dancing you got trophies from it, they are real stupid anyways' (Disco thought that the part where it says stupid meant that it was saying that it's stupid that they haven't gave him more trophies for his skills)

Bear Hugger: 'Littéralement Tarzan si la logique des dessins animés n'existait pas.' - 'Literally tarzan if cartoon logic didn't exist' (Bear thought it was hilarious)

Bald Bull: 'Combien de temps avant que ce type ne craque et ne détruise le monde de ses propres mains?' - 'How long until this guy snaps and destroy the world with his own hands?' (Ironically, Bull didn't get mad when someone translated the sweater for him)

(SMM thought it was praising him, and posted it online talking about that totally awesome sweater, got raided by trolls)

Mr. Sandman: 'Pour un champion invaincu comme vous, vous ne devriez pas perdre contre un jeune de 17 ans. Tu devrais avoir honte.' - 'For a undefeated champion like yourself, you shouldn't lose to a 17 years old. Be ashamed.' (Joe is so lucky that Sandman doesn't speak french, I think we all know what would happen had Sandman knew)

Little Mac: 'Imaginez que vous battiez des boxeurs vraiment forts, et que vous vous fassiez insulter par eux une fois que vous avez obtenu la ceinture de champion, parce que tout le monde est trop confiant dans ses compétences et ne se rend pas compte qu'il n'est pas si bon que ça.' - 'Imagine beating up real strong boxers, just to get insulted by them once you get the champion belt because everyone is too overconfident in their skills and don't realize they are really not that good.' Yesterday I finally watched the christmas episode of doctor who. And well i'm still a fan of this new doctor with Ncuti Gatwa ! Can't wait to see the next season !

Ranma avala difficilement sa salive. Akane s’était enfermée dans la cuisine tout l’après-midi. Elle avait même collé un papier sur la porte avec écrit dessus : « Interdiction d’entrer ! ». Seule Kasumi avait eu le droit de rester.

Depuis le début du mois de décembre, Akane regardait des films de Noël, avait décoré le dojo et avait acheté des livres de cuisine qui proposaient des recettes de Noël. Dans la matinée, elle avait demandé à Kasumi si elle pouvait utiliser la cuisine. Elle s’était mise en tête de leur faire le repas de Noël. Elle voulait faire comme dans les films qu’elle regardait où la famille se réunissait à la fin pour le repas de Noël. Personne n’avait voulu lui faire de la peine, mais tous redoutaient le résultat. Même si elle se donnait du mal, Akane n’arrivait même pas à faire cuire du riz.

Ranma fut sorti de ses pensées lorsqu’il entendit un violent coup de couteau sur la planche à découper en bois.

« Mince, dit Akane. J’y suis peut-être allée un peu fort. »

De la sueur coula le long de la nuque du jeune Saotome. Il espérait que des morceaux de bois ne seraient pas mélangés aux légumes. La porte de la cuisine s’ouvrit et Kasumi sortit.

« Akane a bientôt finit, dit-elle en souriant. Tu viens te mettre à table. »

Ranma acquiesça et la suivit, regardant une dernière fois la porte de la cuisine.

Toute la famille était assise autour de la table. Akane arriva quelques minutes plus tard, installant les différents plats. Elle plaça ensuite le plat principal qui était tellement lourd que la table faillit céder sous son poids. Ranma regarda le plat avec suspicion. Normalement dans un repas de Noël le plat principal était censé être une dinde. Le résultat final ne ressemblait pas vraiment à une dinde.

« Ça m’a l’air… Délicieux, dit Soun. »

Il avait un sourire crispé et de la sueur perlait sur son front. Même Happosai ne semblait pas rassuré.

« Tiens papa, dit Akane en lui tendant une assiette. C’est toi qui aura la première part.

-C’est gentil Akane, mais… Ranma est ton fiancé. C’est lui qui devrait avoir la première part. »

Ranma lui lança un regard noir. Traître, pansa-t-il. Akane se tourna vers lui et lui tendit une assiette avec un immense sourire.

« Tu veux goûter Ranma ? »

Il dut se mordre la langue pour ne pas lui répondre :

« Non, merci. »

Elle le regardait avec ses grands yeux adorables et il se vit dans l’incapacité de refuser. Il prit l’assiette d’une main tremblante, sous les regards anxieux de toute la famille. Il goûta un morceau et sentit quelque chose de dur sous ses dents. C’était un morceau de la planche à découper. Il avala avec grande difficulté. Il lâcha l’assiette et se sentit partir en arrière. C’était tellement mauvais qu’il crut qu’il allait perdre connaissance.

« Ranma, tu exagères ! Dit Akane. Ce n’est pas si mauvais. »

Elle avait dû avoir goûter un morceau, car Ranma l’entendit s’exclamer :

« C’est infect ! »

Pourquoi ? Pourquoi avait-il fallu qu’il tombe amoureux d’une aussi mauvaise cuisinière ?

Promptober creators have all of our 2024-2025 round to work on this event! If you want to work on it the whole year until we release the next spooky season event, we encourage you to do that. If spooky challenges are particularly your jam, we’d love to see what you do with ours when you’ve got the whole year to tackle it!

entries—Your fanwork is NOT required to use the prompt exactly as it appears on this list. Prompts need only inspire your fanwork, whether they appear word for word in it or not. However the prompt inspires you is correct, as far as we’re concerned. Subvert the prompt, reverse the prompt, marry the prompt—it’s up to you.

All forms of fannish works are accepted and encouraged for this event! Fanfic, fanart, poetry, podfics, fanvids, playlists, fiber and other crafts, fan edits, moodboards, etc.

You may start posting your Promptober fanworks as soon as they’re ready to share. No need to wait until October and no need to rush to get them all done in that month, either.

Fanwork Fill Requirements

100 words for written works or word art, with the exception of poetry with independent formatting rules (such as haikus).

Les ondes radio résonnent, Mariah Carey s’époumone, le chocolat fond dans la casserole. Des paroles dégoulinantes d’amour arrivent jusqu’à ses lèvres, et la cuillère de crème qu’elle glisse dans sa bouche. Une fois, deux fois, elle goûte à son mélange, y ajoute du sucre, chante à tue-tête ce joyeux hit des fêtes. Le four est déjà chaud, son corps bien enflammé, elle se déhanche et danse sous l'œil de ses sablés. Bientôt dorée leur croûte et beurrée leur saveur aussi douce que cette partition sucrée qu’elle connaît par cœur. L’odeur monte à son nez, un tendre parfum cacaoté, et la note s’élève, trop haut pour ne pas chanter faux. Qu’importe dans sa cuisine, n’est-elle pas la reine ? Dans cette scène improvisée, oui, la star c’est bien elle. Maniques en mains, toque bien coiffée et tablier noué, la fumée s’échappe du fourneau, ne manque plus que les lumières, et un public pour l’acclamer. Qu’importe la cuisine dérangée, l’entassement des cocottes, bols et autres ustensiles débordant dans l’évier, les taches de gras, jets de farine de tous côtés, le goûter du Père Noël est enfin prêt. Ne reste plus qu’à lui servir son verre de lait.

Est-ce que certains d'entre vous auraient des recommandations de lecture avec une ambiance hivernale ou qui se passent à Noël (mais qui ne soient pas des romances cliché de Noël, c'est pas du tout ma tasse de thé ?).

J'espère que vous continuerez, et j'espère que plus de gens vous incluront ! Oh, et j'espère que tu trouveras l'amour (à nouveau ?) tu peux le faire ! Et désolée si ce que j'ai dit a l'air triste ou cringey...

(Je tiens à dire que je pense que plus de gens devraient interagir avec votre blog aussi, si c'est ce que vous voulez bien sûr. Je ne manquerai pas d'envoyer des demandes et de vous inclure dans les jeux de tags si vous survivez après Noël. J'ai moi-même un petit blog de jirai. Ce serait vraiment bien si je recevais de l'attention sans avoir à la demander, c'est pourquoi je fais ça, même si ce n'est pas grand chose pour l'instant, je suis sûr que quelques personnes apprécieront).

Christmas reads ❄️🎄

A Daddy for Kinkmas, by Reese Morrison & A Kiss for Santa, by Mia Monroe

What does a T4T romance book about kinky gays have in common with a novella about a young man falling for Santa Claus? Nothing except for the fact that I laughed real hard when I discovered each of them

Two very different vibes and stories, but it was fun to try and read Christmas books. I actually hate Christmas movies, so I was scared I would just be subjecting myself to something I hate but in book format. It turned out to be the case for A Kiss for Santa, but not for A Daddy for Kinkmas!

A Kiss for Santa would probably be good if you like cheesy (Christmas) romances where you don't see the characters have meaningful intereactions much (if at all) yet get married after 3 days together. The length of the book (well, novella really), probably didn't help. Meanwhile, A Daddy for Kinkmas got me hooked in a few pages because the characters had so much personality and individuality. I couldn't help but get attached. Morrison made an effort to show their characters bonding, even before the week they spend together. I also honestly really liked the writing! It was a great surprise and I might check some of Morrison's other works

Qu'ont en commun une romance T4T sur deux gay qui font du bondage et un romant court sur un jeune homme qui tombe amoureux du Père Noël? Rien, si ce n'est que les deux m'ont fait beaucoup rire quand je suis tombée dessus

Deux vibes et deux histoires très différentes, mais c'était fun d'essayer de lire des livres de Noël. En vrai, je déteste les films de Noël, donc j'avais peur de m'infliger la même chose mais sous forme de livre. Ça s'est avéré être le cas pour A Kiss for Santa, mais pas pour A Daddy for Kinkmas!

A Kiss for Santa plaira probablement aux fans de romances (de Noël) cucul où on voit pas beaucoup (voire pas du tout) les personnages avoir d'échanges significatifs mais qui se marient quand même au bout de 3 jours ensemble. La longueur du livre (roman court) n'a probablement pas aidé. En attendant, A Daddy for Kinkmas m'a happée en quelques pages parce que les personnages avaient tellement de personnalité et d'individualité. J'ai pas pu m'empêcher de m'attacher. Morrison a fait en sorte de montrer le rapprochement de ses personnages même avant la semaine qu'ils passent ensemble. J'ai aussi beaucoup aimé le style d'écriture ! C'était une très bonne surprise et je checkerai peut-être d'autres livres par Morrison

Dear Antoine,

After continuous bombing and gunfire, the boche  have driven us from the town of Verdun. The enemy is constantly sending aircraft into flight to scour the ground below for any of our french people. I am glad that you are safe back at Agen. The sound of explosions and gunfire constantly keeps us on edge. You should be glad that you are not here. We suffer sleepless nights that are full of boredom and silence. There are also times when it rains, puddles form in the trenches and soak our boots and prune our feet. We have had 54 cases of trench foot since the battle started. 

The boche likes to sneak up and throw their stick hand grenades at the edge of our defenses, to try and take us by surprise. We easily take out most of the boche with our machine guns. Our troops at Verdun have had many casualties, but we still stand strong and will not give up. We fight for the future of France and its greatness.

My friend, Joseph was sadly taken down by gunfire. He served and fought well for France. He will always be remembered in our hearts, but he is in a better place now. He shot down hundreds of the boche, he was a true hero. Your uncle, Louis, got grazed by a bullet on his left arm. It’s been patched up and is healing quite well. He will be back fighting in no time. 

Do you still have wine in your cellar? I was thinking that when the war is over we could open a few bottles and get drunk together and try to forget about what we went through. I know that fighting for France is necessary, but sometimes I wish this war never happened. It’s been dragging on for 2 years now and will never seem to stop. The trenches are cramped, full of rats, some with water, bullet shells, and corpses. The stench never seems to go away. The other soldiers seem to have gotten used to the smell of death and destruction, but I don’t think I ever will.

When I get home from the war, all I want to do is take a warm bath, have a nice meal, read a book, and sleep. All I really have is a small tin of animal fat, reliance on food and water rations, a few hours of sleep, and some paper. When I get home, I don’t want a job, I don’t want hard work, I only want relaxation and home. 

I hope you are faring well in this war and I look forward to coming home and seeing you again. I look forward to sitting down with some cheese and crackers to eat. I will try and write to you before Christmas and the new years start. I hope to see you soon.

Cher Antoine, Après des bombardements et des coups de feu continus, les boches nous ont chassés de la ville de Verdun. L'ennemi envoie constamment des avions en vol pour fouiller le sol en contrebas à la recherche de l'un de nos Français. Je suis content que tu sois en sécurité à Agen. Le bruit des explosions et des coups de feu nous tient constamment en haleine. Tu devrais être content de ne pas être là. Nous subissons des nuits blanches pleines d'ennui et de silence. Il y a aussi des moments où il pleut, des flaques se forment dans les tranchées et trempent nos bottes et taillent nos pieds. Nous avons eu 54 cas de pied de tranchée depuis le début de la bataille. Les Boches aiment se faufiler et lancer leurs grenades à main au bord de nos défenses, pour essayer de nous prendre par surprise. Nous éliminons facilement la plupart des Boches avec nos mitrailleuses. Nos troupes à Verdun ont subi de nombreuses pertes, mais nous tenons bon et n'abandonnerons pas. Nous nous battons pour l'avenir de la France et sa grandeur. Mon ami Joseph a malheureusement été abattu par des coups de feu. Il a bien servi et combattu pour la France. On se souviendra toujours de lui dans nos cœurs, mais il est dans un meilleur endroit maintenant. Il a abattu des centaines de boches, c'était un vrai héros. Ton oncle, Louis, s'est fait effleurer par une balle au bras gauche. Il a été rafistolé et guérit assez bien. Il sera de retour au combat en un rien de temps. Vous avez encore du vin dans votre cave? Je pensais qu'une fois la guerre terminée, nous pourrions ouvrir quelques bouteilles et nous saouler ensemble et essayer d'oublier ce que nous avons vécu. Je sais que se battre pour la France est nécessaire, mais parfois je souhaite que cette guerre n'ait jamais eu lieu. Cela traîne depuis 2 ans maintenant et ne semblera jamais s'arrêter. Les tranchées sont exiguës, pleines de rats, certains avec de l'eau, des balles et des cadavres. La puanteur ne semble jamais s'en aller. Les autres soldats semblent s'être habitués à l'odeur de la mort et de la destruction, mais je ne pense pas que je le ferai jamais. Quand je rentre de la guerre, tout ce que je veux, c'est prendre un bain chaud, prendre un bon repas, lire un livre et dormir. Tout ce que j'ai vraiment, c'est une petite boîte de graisse animale, des rations de nourriture et d'eau, quelques heures de sommeil et du papier. Quand je rentre à la maison, je ne veux pas de travail, je ne veux pas de travail acharné, je ne veux que la détente et la maison. J'espère que vous vous portez bien dans cette guerre et j'ai hâte de rentrer à la maison et de vous revoir. J'ai hâte de m'asseoir avec du fromage et des craquelins à manger.
