@azrielgreen Az writes fantastic fics, including Harringrove and Metalsandwich. I love her fics In the Water, with You andRooms (Whose Thighs Are Lilac Rose Gardens) so much.

@runraerun Rae's characterization of Billy is just incredible. I'll never grow tired of that. Her fic Easy as 123 and put up your dukes are great examples of this!

@noxdrawstrash They write AND draw. Their Metalsandwich fic The Long Night has amazing worldbuilding, pacing, and such a unique take on Omegaverse that even I (who doesn't typically enjoy omegaverse) love it so much.

@un-buttoned Their fic when the bones are good is an absolute Harringrove staple and I love their other fics too. Kate_button just knows how to capture this balance between playful and sharp in Billy.

@lazybakerart Draws and writes as well. They have such a lovely stylised artstyle and their writing just incredible too. I really loved their oneshot The Art of the Dick Pic and their fic Cherry.

@brawlite Another excellent writer. Their fic if i stare too long is another Harringrove staple to me.

The Real Prize by @doctorprofessorsong is part two of River's glorious Dean x The Cartwright Twins fics. Dean is reunited with baseball player Joe, now retired, after an eventful case. After introducing his partner Cas, they get to reminiscing, fun, and a boat load of feelings. Only River can make you get this emotional over the aftermath of a gangbang and some voyeuristic partner sharing!

Good Times, Bad Times, Past Times by @lazarus-rose (art by @avalonlights) is another fantastic @deancasbigbang fic that gave me all the time travel feels. Dean doesn't see much of a future for himself with his demon deal looming, but then he meets a future version of himself from 2023. This Dean has his happily ever after with Cas after defeating Chuck and semi-retiring from hunting. But, there's a rogue angel who has gone back in time to kill Dean before he ever went to Hell. Time for tfw to reunite for one last hunt. Brilliantly executed, and masterfully characterised. I just love it when Dean meets Dean!

five minutes to six by saintedcastiel (@aliveboydean) is giving me The Morning Show / Newsroom / Newscaster Castiel! He's been the co-host of Good Morning, Lawrence! for a little over ten years when he stumbles across the story of a lifetime. But after the segment is pulled, he is desperate to unearth the corruption behind the scenes, whilst keeping his co-host, and the man he loves, in the dark. It's got mystery, it's got espionage, it's got heist vibes, it's got intrigue!

becoming of a man by wylf_storm (@denimshortsdean) is another stunning poem, from @winchester-reload's Suptober prompt liminal. Exploring intersecting boundaries, thresholds and transitional stages. Beautifully Dean and Cas, and really layered, every time I read it I find something new.

(we are) two queens by @luckshiptoshore for everyone who's been enjoying Luck's Are You Writing From The Heart? but might have missed this prior gem! Glorious fish out of water meets stubborn self-denial King. And for all your ‘Dean’s inner critic/homosexuality narrator sounds like Crowley’ needs. In which Cas mishears an idiom and chaos (and sexual tension) ensues. The pure joy of there's only one bed fic. Hilarious, sweet, and brimming with frustrated sexual tension as ever!

Do folks who are someone’s favorite fic writer, fan artist, etc. know it? Are they aware that their work has made a genuine impact on the lives of other human beings walking the planet? That there are real flesh-and-blood people who have been touched and affected by what they’ve made, and that they are thought of and discussed frequently with affection and gratitude and awe?

This is random.. But is there anything in canon that indicates Billy likes to read? I've seen a lot of fanfic that pegs him as a Jane Austen fan, but it's been so long since I've watched season 2 & 3 so I dunno if that's in the series at all for real.

in s2ep8 we see “My Life and Hard Times” by James Thurber during the scene where he’s getting ready to go out

in the same episode you can see a book on the shelf behind him

and then in s3ep6 we see child billy sitting at the table with a book in front of him, showing that he must’ve been reading before his parents started fighting

so billy reading is canon and it’s something that comes up more than once but, as to what he likes genre wise, i don’t think there’s a whole lot to go off of so it’s pretty much open to interpretation

So.

On 12/6/22 my main tumblr account of over a decade, my favorite place to hang out on the internet, @avalonlights, was mistakenly terminated out of nowhere. I can only assume that the anti AI art post I had just reblogged, angrily tagging “f*ck AI art for real” was the cause, getting me accidentally marked as a spam account. The irony of that is pretty heartbreaking. There was no warning, and despite trying to contact @staff, I’ve had no recourse. Mainly what makes me sad is I have no backup of everyone I was following, and all the nice tags people had left on my work over the years are just gone. I’m going to keep trying to get my account restored, but in the meantime, I’ll be here on this repurposed secondary account still posting my art, and I’d love to reconnect. 💖
