This thought came to me when I was trying to sleep and it kept me up so I had to write it. I’ve seen so many Dc x Dp crossover but never one where Dick and Barbara are Danny parents alternate versions so I figured I write it. Also this is a revealed that went wrong.
———
Danny Fenton’s life falls apart after the truth gets out — not just about being half-ghost, but everything. Amity Park turns on him. The GIW and his parents come crashing in. Jazz telling him to run, and he listens.
He escapes through the Ghost Zone, hoping for a safe place to regroup.
Instead, he crashes into another reality — Gotham.
———
The rooftop cracked under the weight of the portal’s collapse.
Nightwing landed with escrima sticks already drawn, eyes narrowed at the point of impact. Debris scattered. Something had come through.
Then—movement.
A boy staggered out of the smoke.
Black hair. Bright blue eyes. Pale. Blood soaked suit clinging to him like a second skin. He looked terrified — and familiar. Too familiar.
Nightwing took one cautious step forward.
“Hey. You okay, kid?”
Danny looked up.
And froze.
His eyes went wide, panic sharp and immediate. For a heartbeat, they just stared at each other. Then something cracked behind Danny’s gaze — recognition, heartbreak, fear.
He didn’t answer. He just turned invisible.
“Wait—!”
Too late. He vanished.
Nightwing was left alone with the faint trace of blood still glowing on the rooftop, heart pounding like he’d just watched something slip through his fingers.
He didn’t know that boy.
———
When Nightwing went to the Cave, he said nothing lost in his thought — just dropped the small sample of blood into Tim’s hands.
Tim ran the test. The results processed fast.
Too fast.
Tim frowned. “So. Uh… you might want to sit down.”
Dick spoke up for the first time he entered. “What is it?
Tim gestured to the screen. “Blood sample came back human…but with Lazarus water in it.”
Jason blinked. “So… the kid died and got brought back with the Lazarus Pit? Happens all the time. Hey, look at me—I was brought back to life because of it.”
“That’s not the weird part.” Tim murmured. “In his blood it was stabilized. Balanced. His blood is saturated with it. It’s not corrupting him — I don’t even know what going on — Like his body was built for it.”
Silence
“But that’s not even the weird part.”
The monitor flickered as it loaded the second half of the report. Two genetic matches lit up on-screen:
PARENTAL GENETIC MATCH FOUND
Richard. Grayson and Barbara. Gordon
Dick stared at it like it might blink out of existence if he looked too hard.
Everyone in the Batfam assumes the obvious.
Jason frowned, eyes sharp. “So someone made a cloned of dickwing and spliced in Babs’ DNA? That’s dark, even for Gotham.”
Tim frowned. “If CADMUS is involved, it’s bad news. They never stop.”
Damian: “We should have incinerated that lab when we had the chance.”
Dick presses a hand to his chest and whispers, “No.”
Jason raised an eyebrow. “What??”
Dick’s gaze hardened. “I think he’s my son somehow, not a cloned because even before the results, when I saw that boy on the rooftop, for that split second — it felt him my hearts stuttered. Like my body recognized something my minds couldn’t name yet.”
The whole batfam is silent.
Tim, staring hard at the data: “If he’s a clone, he’s… weirdly clean. There’s none of the degradation markers, no artificial telomere tampering, no lab-grown sequences. This is full-genome, natural structure. Like—like a real person.”
Dick’s voice was hoarse. “He saw me and ran.”
Jason scoffed. “Can’t blame him. I’d run too if I saw a weird younger version of my dad who didn’t remember me.”
So now the Batfam is hunting down Dick and Barbara kid across Gotham.

You can read it down below or on AO3
“Mom! Dad! Come up here please!” Jazz yelled in the general direction of her bedroom door.
Shortly after, there was a pair of loud footsteps bounding up the stairs. One much louder than the other.
Danny quickly shifted back into his human form just before his parents burst through the door.
“What’s up Jazz-erincess?” their Dad said with a grin.
“Everything okay, Dear?” their mom asked sounding a little bit worried.
“I'm fine,” Jazz reassured, “but Danny needs to talk to you.” She said before leaning out of the way and revealing him in the place where her reflection should be.
“Danny? What? How are you in the mirror?” their mom asked as she ran up to the vanity.
“I'll get you out of there, Danno!” Their dad said, rushing over with his fist raised.
“No stop!” Both Danny and Jazz said in unison.
Luckily their mom caught on and helped them out, “Wait a second Dear, let's hear them out first. What if breaking the mirror hurts him?”
“Oh good point.” He said relaxing his arms.
Jazz and Danny breathed twin sighs of relief.
“Just so we're all clear, I'm not in the mirror. I'm just using it to talk to you guys.”
“If you aren't in the mirror, then where are you?”
Danny took a second to steel himself for their reactions, “the Ghost Zone,” he winced more than said.
“The Ghost Zone?! Don't worry Baby, we’ll rescue you and we’ll get you home in no time!” Maddie said already half-way towards the door.
“Wait you don’t have to do that!”
His mom slowly turned back to face the mirror and took a moment before she asked, “Why not?”
Despite the calmness of her reaction, Danny was still worried. Or maybe her calm demeanor was making him worry.
“Because I’m not in any danger. I am stuck where I am, but I’ll be okay.”
“How are you stuck and safe at the same time?”
“I’m with friends and they’ll keep me safe.”
“You have friends in the ghost zone? Are Sam and Tucker there too?”
“No, different friends. Ones you haven’t met.” Then he cautiously added, “They live here.”
“Ghost friends?”
Danny just nodded.
“You can’t trust a ghost, Son, they lie.” Jack said with a determined nod.
“Not all ghosts are evil you know.” Danny sighed and muttered under his breath, “And most of them are terrible liars, I would know.”
“What makes you so sure?” Maddie asked, still oh so calm.
Calm enough that he thought for a second she might have heard his muttering and was getting suspicious of him, but he doubted it.
He was probably just being paranoid. It would be fine once he explained everything.
“Because I’ve actually talked to ghosts. I’ve gotten to know them. I’ve learned a lot about ghosts because,” Danny took a breath and figured now was as good a time as any, “Maybe it’s easier to just show you.”
He was about to let his transformation take over, but a quick glance towards his sister made him hesitate.
She was not giving him any encouraging smiles, or any positive feedback.
In fact, she looked like she was just about to start yelling at him to stop.
“What is it?” Danny asked as casually as he could. It did not feel like he asked that casually at all.
“I think we might be going a little fast. Maybe we should pause and take some questions?”
“Oh, okay.” Now that he had started, it felt awkward to stop, but she was probably right.
Their dad started to say something, but their mom held up her hand to stop him, “No, we’re good. I think if he shows me what he’s going to show me, that will answer all of my questions.”
Danny watched his dad’s shoulders slump with a little pout but he stayed quiet.
This wasn’t going how he thought it would.
Then again, no one was yelling or shooting at him so maybe he was just being overly nervous. It was fine.
“Are you sure?” Jazz asked, “because he hasn’t even mentioned why he’s stuck where he’s at or how he’s able to talk to us?” Jazz prompted. “Or who his ghost friends are?”
Danny rubbed the back of his neck nervously. Now that she was pointing it out, his explanation was kind of all over the place wasn’t it? “I guess I did miss some important stuff.”
“Why can’t you leave?” dad asked before anyone else could interrupt him.
“The short answer is the weather.” Danny said with a nervous chuckle.
Both his parents gave him matching confused expressions.
“Okay, so you know how there’s floating islands in the zone? Well some of them are really big and this one, it’s called the Far Frozen, and it’s kind of like Antarctica, but with Yeti’s instead of penguins.”
“Or the north pole?!” Dad asked excitedly.
Danny winced at the Santa reminder but agreed anyway, “yeah sure.”
“Are you saying you can’t leave because it’s snowing?”
“Yeah, turns out they have two season, Cold and Blizzard. Today is the start of blizzard season.”
Danny looked over to Jazz who was giving him a subtle, go on gesture.
“So I called to let you know I can’t leave until the season is over. It’s going to be a while. Like months.” Danny couldn’t sit still but he kept going, despite his fidgeting, “I didn’t want you to worry and I hope you’re not too mad at me.”
It was quite for only a moment before anyone reacted.
“How stupid do you think I am?”
Danny looked up at his mother’s harsh words and found an even colder glare.
“You expect me to believe you went into the Ghost Zone, on purpose, to a place that is, in your own words, ghostly Antarctica, and yet you don't even have a coat?”
“Oh that's because I don't really need one.”
“And how is that?”
“It’s part of what I was going to show you.”
“Then show me.” she ordered.
Danny swallowed hard and nodded.
The rings of his transformation washed over him.
His parents gasped and immediately drew their weapons.
Both Jazz and Danny begged them not to shoot.
Their dad slightly relaxed his aim after a moment.
Danny figured it was because it was Jazz that was asking.
Their mom however, still had her ectogun raised at his chest.
There was so much he wanted to say.
So much he needed to say.
But he didn’t get the chance.
Because she pulled the trigger.

Danny steals Jason
Danny was the newbiest of noobs on the street rat scene. Poor kid isn't cut out for the cut-throat culture of Gotham homelessness. His soft heart and mid-western manners means he ends up giving up the lion's share of what he does manage to scavenge.
It concerned Jason. Being soft like that was a great way to get killed. Danny was chum in the shark infested waters. Hood asked one of the older alley kids how Danny hadn't gotten eaten alive.
"It's like taking candy from a baby" she confided in Hood. "Easy as fuck, but you can't help but feel bad about it."
Now, Red Hood has a deal with the alley kids. If anyone manages to steal from all of the Waynes without getting caught, he will pay for all their necessities until they turn 18.
Really, it's a win-win. Bruce and his brood get extra awareness training and more incentive to stay out of Jason's territory. The kids get bought a meal after they're inevitably caught. Jason gets to laugh at his family.
He never expected his deal to be taken advantage of by Danny of all kids.
"Psst! Red Hood!"
Jason glanced over to see Danny beckoning him over. Curious, and a bit wary at the nervous look on the boy's face, he approached. "What's up kid?"
"C'mon! Over here!" Danny insisted, moving further away.
Jason followed. "What's this about?"
Danny didn't answer. Instead he just grabbed his hand and sped up. He kept glancing back at him and it was making Jason nervous. Did the kid get in over his head and coerced into luring Red Hood into a trap?
"Kid?" He asked again, tension leaking into his voice.
"Not yet. Almost there."
Abruptly they stopped on a random street corner. Jason noted that it was tactically a poor place for an assassination. Still, if something was gonna go down, he'd have to make sure the kid made it to safety.
"Danny-"
"I abducted you." Danny interrupted, confirming Jason's suspicious. "I used persuasion to get you someplace you don't wanna be," He pointed at the ground at that, presumably for emphasis. "Which counts as abduction. And I didn't get caught by the Bats."
"Okay? Danny, you-"
"You're sort of a bat which means I stole you from the bats!" the kid interrupted again. "And the bats are the Waynes. So I stole from all the Waynes without getting caught! I won the challenge!"
As Jason's brain rebooted all he could manage to say was, "What makes this spot someplace I don't wanna be?"
Danny just grinned and pointed at the ground again.
Jason looked down. He was standing in a chalk outline with lots of arrows titling it the "Stupid Circle"

Tim: Hello? Is someone in my closet?
Danny broke into the Drake manor, thinking it was abandoned and hiding in the closet once he realized there was a kid alseep on the bed: Um, no, it was just your imagination.
Tim: If you're my imagination, then how can you talk?
Danny sweating: Because I'm an imaginary friend?
Tim: ....
Danny:....
Tim:...
Danny: Ugh kid, you still there-
Tim throwing the closet door open: I HAVE A FRIEND!? WOW! YOU'RE SO PRETTY TOO! HOW ARE YOUR EYES SO GREEN, AND YOU'RE HAIR SO WHITE AND ARE YOU GLOWING!? YOU'RE FLOATING TOO! ARE YOU SMART? MY IQ IS 142. WHATS YOURS?!
Danny staring down at seven year old genius stun: I never had my IQ tested-
Tim: That's okay! I have the paper test! It can be the first thing we do together as best friends! I have a friend!!!!
Danny:....okay sure lets take that test. Don't be disappointed when I don't score high. I failed freshman English.
Tim: How can you fail a class I never took? Aren't you from my mind?
Danny: Sometimes imaginary friends are from parts of our minds that we don't know we have but are the heroes we need the most. By the way, kid, don't tell anyone about me.
Tim nodding: Because they won't be able to see you and think I'm crazy. I don't want to end up in Arkham, so I'll keep you secret, Glowy.
Danny: Glowy?
Tim: I made you so I name you. Your name is Glowy
Danny: I actually go by Phantom-
Tim: No. Glowy.
Danny: Hey, I'm older than you. I'm fifteenth, which is practically an adult, so if I say my name is Phantom, then my name is-
Tim: I made you. I can unmake you.
Danny: Well, that was a vaguely horrifying thing to hear from an ankle bitter. How about that IQ test, huh?
Tim: Its going to be so much fun Glowy!
Danny sighing: Yeah, I guess it will.

DC x DP Prompt: Bruce is bad at emoting but at least ghosts are empathic (too bad bat kids are not)
Was reading Twincognito on AO3 when I stumbled across this gem again:
~
" “Danny, Tim. I was just…checking in. Is everything alright?” Curse his inability to make meaningful conversation when it wasn’t a life or death situation.
They glanced at each other and shrugged.
Then Danny hauled himself out of the bed and walked over to Bruce.
Bruce tried not to let too much excitement show on his face. "
~
Now I really want to read a story where Bruce adopts Danny post Meta trafficking and is being his usual emotionally constipated self. His kids keep getting mad at him because he's treating their new meta brother who was trafficked poorly (generally being stilted in conversation with him, walking away hurriedly mid-conversation, avoiding Danny when he's feeling really awkward, etc). They think Bruce is discriminating against Danny for being a civilian, meta, dealer's pick, but really it's just Bruce being horribly socially awkward. Danny knows this because of ghost empathy and find the whole thing hilarious. The whole thing comes to a head with the Bat Kids staging an intervention in the Bat Cave.

There are so many great fills to this. I've only skimmed one or two, but it caught my attention and I had to do my own take. There's gonna be a part 2 coming from me, hopefully sooner than later, but I didn't want another Wednesday to go by without posting anything.

Want to Hold on and Feel I Belong
Danny choked back a scream as he woke from another nightmare. Quickly he turned on the light next to his bed. Blue walls, gray ceiling dotted with glow-in-the-dark stars. Not a speck of white anywhere. He was safe.
He put his head between his knees and tried to breathe. The tremors didn't stop. He was safe. They didn't know where he was.
With a cry of frustration, he jumped out of bed. He needed to move, to get out. Maybe if he went to the kitchen, someone would be awake. Tim was home and he barely ever slept as far as Danny could tell. Mind made up, he slipped out of his room, bare feet silent as he made his way down the hall.
It was with relief that he saw the kitchen light on. But then he heard voices. He didn't want to intrude on any private conversations. He paused, just wanting to stay long enough to ensure he wouldn't be intruding.
"…proof I am the superior Robin." That was clearly Damian speaking.
"You're just jealous that Dick and Bruce trust me to do my own thing on patrol," Tim shot back. Patrol? Robin? No. They couldn't be. Not this family, too.
Danny carefully looked around to ensure none of the other family members were around and turned himself invisible and intangible to get closer.
"You had to blackmail your way into the Robin mantle. I earned my place in the suit."
"Alfred gave me the suit just like Dick gave it to you. Bruce didn't chose either of us."
No. It wasn't true. It couldn’t be true. He backed away from the door and straight through the far wall at which point he turned and flew right back to his room.
He collapsed on the floor and gasped for air. Bruce was Batman. They were part of the Justice League. The Justice League worked with them.
He needed to get out of here. It wasn't safe. He scrambled to the closet, phasing through it when his hands shook too much to grab the handle. His go-bag was woefully unprepared. He'd gotten complacent. Everyone here was just so nice. He liked them.
But he'd loved his parents, too. And that hadn't stopped them, either.
He shoved a few changes of clothes into the bag. His phone and electronics would have to be left behind. And any credit cards. Batman would have the resources to track any of them.
But he did grab the picture of himself, Sam, Tucker, and Jazz from his bedside table. And, after a pause, the one from a month after he'd joined the Waynes. Alfred had taken it when they’d had a movie night and Duke had his arm around Danny who was leaning against Jason’s legs. He’d just started allowing himself to think he might have a second chance at life and family.
He shoved it in his bag and went to his snack stash. He wished he'd had more food in his room, but whatever half-eaten snacks would have to do. And then he was flying out of the manor.
He was nearly to the edge of city limits before he froze in midair. They hadn't turned him in yet. They were trying to gather more information. What had they passed on? What details had he let slip about his friends and the ghosts and the realms that was now in their hands?
He had to go back. He had to keep his people safe. But he would never let himself be turned over. Not again.
His return to the manor seemed to take much longer than the journey out had. By the time he slipped back into his room, the sky was starting to lighten on the horizon. Danny hid his bag in the closet.
He needed something to keep himself safe. He would not go back. He wouldn’t survive that again.
When he’d gotten here, he’d brought some of his parent’s inventions with him. Would he be able to modify one of them to work on humans? Only one way to find out.
He’d hidden all the weapons in the walls when he moved in, but he’d marked the locations. Phasing his hand through the NASA poster, he removed an ectoblaster. Time to get to work.
When the knock sounded on his door, he jumped so high he started flying. “Just a second!” he called out as he settled back to the floor and tried to get his breathing under control. He shoved both the blaster and his tools into the floor.
“Take your time, Master Danny,” replied Alfred from the other side of the door.
At the sound of his voice, Danny froze again. Was Alfred lying to him, too? He liked Alfred. He was teaching him how to cook without reanimating the food. Danny closed his eyes tightly and allowed himself two deep breaths before shuffling to the door and opening it partway.
“Hey, Alfred.” Danny couldn’t even give an insincere ‘good morning.’
“You don’t look well, Master Danny.” Alfred reached out to check his temperature.
At the feel of the warm fingers Danny flinched back violently. Warm touches meant humans. Meant pain and danger.
“I apologize for startling you. Are you ill?”
“I… Yeah. I’m not feeling well today. Couldn’t sleep and I can’t seem to get warm. I don’t think I’ll be able to make it into school today. Sorry I didn’t say something sooner. I won’t make Duke or Damian late, will I?”
“Not at all. I’ll bring up a bowl of oatmeal for you and perhaps a nice soup for lunch?”
“Sure. I don’t know how much I’ll be able to eat today.”
“Of course. Do you think it’s a stomach bug? Or a cold or flu? I’ll bring along some medications as well.”
As if he and everyone else didn’t know very well that human medications wouldn’t work on him. Though he had to applaud their acting skills. Danny shrugged. “Not sure. I just generally feel crappy today. I’m going to try and get some more rest.”
“Of course. I’ll wish you a speedy recovery and will bring up the oatmeal right away.”
Danny shut the door and froze the lock in place for good measure. Only way anyone would get in is if they broke the door down. He went back to working on the blaster. When Alfred returned, he didn’t open the door and yelled at him to leave the food on the floor.
Could he even trust the food they’d been giving him?
It’s not like he really needed to eat anyway. At least, not as much as a normal human. He kept working. The next time someone knocked on his door, he just yelled at them to go away.
By the time he finished modifying the blaster, it was early afternoon. No one would be home. When could he confront them? Learn what they’d told the GIW? Learn how much danger he’d put his people in?
Did everyone gather for patrol the way he, Sam, and Tuck would? Their meeting place would have to be attached to the manor somehow probably with a second entrance elsewhere. Vlad hid his secret lab underground, maybe Bruce did the same thing?
If he was really lucky, he’d be able to hack their computers and find out what they’d shared that way.
He clutched the blaster tight and turned invisible and intangible and flew downward. He needed to find it. To find anything. He would not be able to exist with himself if any of his people were hurt because he let himself trust the wrong people again.
At first, all he could find was solid rock. But he kept going. It had to be here somewhere.
And then the rock opened up in front of him, revealing a large cave. His eyes were immediately drawn to the giant T-Rex taking up part of the cave. But the giant penny was a close second.
He only allowed himself to look for a minute. When he turned from the trophy area, he saw Tim dressed Red Robin, though without the domino mask, sitting at the giant computer set up. Damn. He wasn’t going to be able to search it himself.
His hand tightened on the blaster as he stared at his foster brother. Would Tim know? No. He had to get them all together. He’d said different things to different people and he had no way of knowing if they compared notes or if each made their reports separately. He’d wait.
As time passed, Tim barely moved from his spot. Danny flew closer to see, but Tim wasn’t looking at anything to do with ghosts. No reports to the GIW filled the screen. It looked like it was something to do with Scarecrow.
Danny took up position by the wall again.
Alfred came down, tried to convince Tim to join them upstairs for dinner. Tim refused and Alfred came back with a sandwich for him to eat at the computer.
More time passed. He heard an engine. A motorcycle rolled in and Red Hood stepped off. Danny sensed the death on him and his core lurched when he realized it was Jason before he ever removed his helmet.
Why would Jason work with them? He was in nearly as much danger from them as Danny. The blaster felt solid in his hands. No matter who betrayed him, he wouldn’t go back. His eyes stung—was he really that awful? First his parents and now his adoptive family as well?
He waited. They all needed to be here. Jason and Tim argued and the familiar sight threatened to put Danny at ease.
And then a pair of sliding doors opened and Bruce entered with Damian, Duke, and Dick.
Screams echoed in his ears. Screams of pain, of terror. Dani crying out, begging him to help her. His own screams as blades cut into his flesh. He dropped his invisibility and continued to wait, half hidden in the shadows.
His adoptive family lived up to their reputations and only minute or two passed before he was spotted.
“Danny?” asked Bruce. “How’d you get here?” He took a step towards Danny.
“What did you tell them?” asked Danny, voice low and steady. He clenched the blaster tighter but didn’t raise it yet.
Bruce froze. “Told who? Danny what are you talking about?”
Danny would’ve believed it if he didn’t know better. He swung the blaster up and pointed it right at his foster-father. “Don’t lie to me!” His voice cracked on the last word. “I won’t go back. You can’t make me!”
Dick took a step forward, hands up in a placating gesture. Danny turned the blaster on him.
“Don’t come any closer! You won’t take me. I won’t let you. Just—Just tell me what you told them.” His vision blurred and he blinked away the tears. “Just tell me and I’ll go. No one has to get hurt.”
Jason sent out a pulse of calm and Danny’s jaw clenched tighter. “Danny, who are you talking about? Where do you think we’re going to take you? You’re safe here.”
Danny shook his head. “Why are you helping them? They’ll go after you, too. They’ll tie you down and cut you open and they won’t care you’re more alive than dead.”
“I… What?” Jason took a step back at his words.
Bruce cleared his throat. “We won’t let anyone hurt Jason. Or you. We’re your family, Danny.”
Danny snorted. “So were my parents and it didn’t stop them. When I got out I swore I’d never go back. That it didn’t matter how much I loved the people who were turning me in, I’d fight.”
Dick tried again. “We’re not your parents, Danny. Why are you convinced we’re going to hurt you?”
Danny turned his blaster back towards Bruce. He locked his elbows to try and control how badly his hands were shaking. “You’re Batman. You’re part of the Justice League. The Justice League works for the US government. It doesn’t take a genius to figure it out. Now, I’m going to ask once more: what did you tell them.”
Tim rolled the chair back to face Danny more fully. “What do you think we told them?”
“You’ve been questioning me. I can’t believe I didn’t see it sooner.” Ancients, why was he crying? He should be better than this. “You’ve been questioning me. Asking about my friends and where I’d hang out. I edited my answers, I’m not a complete idiot, but if you already knew… I won’t go back. But I can’t leave until I know I didn’t put my people in more danger. Until I know they didn’t use information I let slip to capture and torture anyone else.”
“Danny, chum.” The nickname had Danny flinching back, and Bruce held up his hands. “Everything you’ve told us has stayed in the family. We haven’t shared any of it with anyone. Can you tell us who wants to hurt you?”
“Stop lying!” yelled Danny.
Bruce took a step forward and Danny pulled the trigger. He wouldn’t go back. He couldn’t. Bruce let out a yell of pain and fell to the ground. Everyone jumped into motion, some rushing to Bruce, some rushing towards him. Danny phased into the wall, flying up to his room and grabbing his go-bag. He’d have to find out what information the GIW had gotten some other way.

Been a while since I let loose with the angst. I had fun with this.
I won't be doing a tag list for this one. There's no way to tell if you're talking to me or one of the other authors, but it's on AO3 so you can follow there. (Updates might come here first, though.)
AO3 version is locked to registered users. I do have 2 or 3 invitations I can give out if there's anyone who follows me who still doesn't have an account - just DM me and I'll give it to you. I don't even need an email. (They'll be first come first serve.)
Fine line
Okay so we all know pre-reveal but already adopted Danny would question his whole life when he finds out about the vigilante life the Waynes are in but may I introduce you to:
✨Absolutely horrified Danny.✨
Basically he finds out that his seemingly normal family isn't so normal after all and due to the nature of the JL never responding to Amity calls he assumed that they were working with the government. This led to the realization that the family probably knows who he is (they really don't. They just think that he was a meta that doesn't want to deal with the crime-related life bs so they never brought it up) and they're probably in the midst of handing him to the GIW.
He's terrified, because god dammit he shouldn't have trusted a rich guy but he doesn't really have time to contemplate on his next move. Next thing you know Danny's holding a modified ecto gun that is now fatal to humans against Bruce.
The family is alert and ready to pounce on him, but they realized that Danny was shaking too much and his breathing was too ragged. His eyes are glossy and he's biting his lip like he's trying so hard to not drop the gun on his adoptive dad. Danny was having a panic attack.

Follow up for this idea, once LBH is out of the Abyss and he and SQQ have worked out the important stuff- like how much they missed each other and how they should totally kiss and hold hands and all- LBH asks about the System, which has gone back to hiding.
LBH is super frustrated because SQQ is clearly deliberately misinterpreting or avoiding his questions but when he turns to storm off SQQ grabs his arm and really deliberately puts his other hand over his mouth while avoiding eye contact.
LBH: ...you can't tell me can you? You said something about that at the time...
SQQ: ...
LBH: *thinks up the silliest possible thing to say* Clearly this is all Liu Qingge's fault.
SQQ: Pfff... No!
LBH: So you can only tell me when I'm wrong.
SQQ: ...
LBH: Ok I got it.
Once he's got the rules down LBH is gonna find out so much stuff about the System. It's days are numbered.
RIP Airplane when LBH asks about him though.
LBH: Clearly this is all SQH's fault.
SQQ: ... ...
LBH: Wait really??
SQQ: ...That's not... A fair assessment.
LBH: ?????????
SQQ: Don't kill him.
Miles away, minding his own business SQH shudders.
SQH: ... something bad just happened.

Prodigal son beyond time - Part 1
Ra's Al Ghul had a son. No, it's not Dusan we spoke of right now. Ra's Al Ghul's first born child was a peculiar boy that was forged by the Lazarus Pits—or so what he says.
Talia has never met her brother.
Her brother, it has been years since she's found out about him yet her father never gives them a name—he thinks them unworthy of it. Even if he was not present, her brother continues to be the favorite, to be the child their father praised most. His absence is a glaring hole in her father's heart (though she is not sure if he has one).
It is no secret amongst the league that Ra's nameless son was unofficially the heir, even when Damian was born.
Talia has doubted her brother's distance many times, and yet she finds evidence of him over and over again.
Her father writes letters, strange ones that vary in language, dialect, grammar, writing styles. She did not mean to read one when she was young, but she couldn't help herself when she had seen it.
My dearest, son of mine,
It has been an age since last I beheld your presence. I find it most disquieting that you have not seen fit to visit, though I am not ignorant of how poorly time aligns itself with your affairs. Yet still, I dare to hope that you might bestow upon me a portion of your time, if but briefly.
Your siblings have inquired after you once more. Yet I am acutely aware that it would be unwise to bind you to this mortal realm for too great a span. Their hearts, tender and unfortified, lack the endurance I possess to weather the long absences your path necessitates. Nevertheless, I am not blind to the hope you carry—to one day stand before them, whether that moment lies near or far in the veiled expanse of time.
She could not finish the lengthy letter before the letter vanished from her hand, a burst of green and strange liquid slipping from her fingers. Talia had been startled, too young, assuming that this was Lazarus water that has stolen her father's letter.
And she found her father looming behind her, his expression stern get there was amusement in his eyes.
"Your brother is a curious person." Her father hummed, "He's powerful."
"We are not... Allowed to meet him?"
"Not yet. Until you steel your hearts." Ra's nodded, "Your brother does not stay in one place for long. But he is soft hearted and loyal to the family. You give him reason to stay and he will stay."
His hand, firm and guidind, pressed against her shoulder in a tight grip. "And I will not let any of you weaken him."
On that day, Talia realized that her father truly did love her brother. In his own strange way.
The next time she reads a letter, Damian was but a babe of one, cradled in her arms as a letter written on green paper rested in her father's hand. It was open, the wax seal carefully sliced from the envelope.
"Father."
"Talia." He replied nonchalantly, eyes flicking to Damian, his eyes softening momentarily as a longing look slipped to the letter.
Talia's heart tightened, resentful that her father was beginning to see his favorite child on her own son. She could not allow that...
"Your brother has written to me. It has been... Almost a year... Since the last." Ra's hummed, turning to Talia, then Damian, before flicking yet another letter to her. It startled her.
"From your brother." Ra's sighed, "I made the mistake of writing about Damian and now he wishes to meet you first. Not Nyssa, not Dusan—you."
"My brother?" Talia hesitantly accepted the letter. "I do not even know his name..."
Ra's clicked his tongue, "He signed it in his name. You will know from that letter." He paused, glancing back at her. "You have yet to prove yourself worthy, Talia, but... Damian's birth will surely being your brother back home."
Talia's heart palpitated in her chest.
The prospect of her baby, her son, her child—the mere thought that her baby would be the thing that successfully brings her brother home was... Outstanding.
"Read it in your own time... After that, seek me out."
Talia does not know... What to particularly do...
But she takes Damian, watches as her father leaves, and hurries along to her own quarters.
Talia tucks her son into the crib, narrowing her eyes at the nursemaids that were hired to nurture her son. She dismissed them immediately, watching as they silently leave the room. It is only when silence reigns does she takes a seat on her bed as Damian slumbers in his crib.
(Her hands tremble as the letter rested in her hands. It was light, not heavy, her her hands tremble as if she could not handle the weight.)
She takes in a deep breath, takes a dagger and carefully slices it away from envelope. It's intricately made.
The letter is written in the same green paper that her father received.
The letter read as thus:
My Dearest Talia, It would seem that I am now to be regarded as your brother, for Ra's has deemed me his son. Admittedly, this turn of events is of my own doing, as I endeared myself to him centuries past and found solace in his companionship, coming to view him as a father in truth. Yet you, his daughter by blood, remain a stranger to me, as do Nyssa and Dusan. How peculiar it is that Father should act in such a manner, withholding such introductions with his customary inscrutability.
She takes in a deep breath, awes by her brother's penmaniship... And then suddenly the writing style changes. Morphing from the olden age, the formality of a noble, to...
Anyways! Since you're my sister, I don't think I have to keep writing to you the same way Ra's does. It feels awkward to me, y'know?
She was not expecting that change but...
I've always wanted to meet you all. But my duties to my realm are hard. I can't freelt leave. It's especially worse since my world's time doesn't correlate to yours.
You might find the change of writing styles weird, but in all honesty, I'm from the 21st century. It's just that time never did agree with me. Had to comply with the old man on writing like that since he likes it. Weird, right?
But anyways! I heard you had a son! Congrats by the way. I'd like to meet him too, actually. Aside from that, I heard from Ra's you don't know my name.
Well, he's decided to call my Danyal as it's the Arabic version of my original name "Daniel". Though I often go by my nickname Danny. But it has been a delight to write to you, Talia. Hopefully, I'll be able to meet you and your son in the future.
Since you have my name now, you can write me letters too! It'll find me eventually.
Your brother,
Danny
Her brother's name was Danyal... Her brother went by Danny.
Talia blinked.
Her strange brother was a being that traversed through time, a person who was born in the 21st century... Her brother could be somewhere in the world in that moment and in another time the next.
She pressed the letter to her lips, unable to hold back her smile.
She had quite the silly brother...
And amongst her siblings, Talia was the first to know her brother's name. That bit about being able to write letters to him made her finally understand why her father was so possessive of a name.
(In the Infinite realms, High King Phantom received a letter from his estranged younger sister. He really didn't mean to find family in the Demon's head, but he found it anyways.)

*merlins magic gets exposed in front of the knights*
merlin, magic user: oh fuck
arthur, finally taking this opportunity to pretend as if he just found out merlin has magic after agonizing for the past month on how to bring it up: you have magic?
lancelot, merlin defender, already knew of merlin’s magic: no! i have magic
gwaine, merlin defender, already knew of merlin’s magic, lover of chaos, ride or die: no, i have magic!
mordred, desperate for his hero’s approval bc no matter what he’s done emrys just stares at him with distrust and the poor boy is tired and so close to tears: no…i have magic.
percival, raised by druids and bonded strongly with mordred over that and does Not agree with the persecution of magic in camelot, had an inkling that merlin had magic but no proof: no. i have magic.
*leon and elyan exchange a look, elyan, amused and leon, exhausted, elyan shrugs*
elyan, knows how much gwen adores merlin and completely understands her stance bc merlin…is merlin, down to clown and put on a show, really playing up the dramatics: no! i have magic.
leon, exhausted, has known of merlin’s magic since he stepped foot in camelot, knows of his feelings for arthur and arthur’s feelings for him, knows arthur knows of merlin’s magic and wouldn’t harm him, thinks everyone is being absolutely ridiculous:
*the knights stare hard at leon and even merlin looks slightly offended at leon not jumping to his defense with the rest of the knights, arthur hasn’t said anything and is staring at leon expectantly*
leon, sighing: …no. i have magic.

dandad au where jason never reveals to the bats tgat he's alive: they find out because mar'i grayson and the twins go to the same kindergarten/pre school and become insanely close. they try to set up a playdate and dick fights jason because he thinks he's a clone.

It was on sight. I gotta say when Jason never reveals his identity to the batfam is one of my favorite tropes.
Starfire and Dan were picking up their kids from kindergarten and noticed the other wasn't exactly human and that their kiddos got along and set up a playdate without realizing that their partners were Dick or Jason. After the whole fight happens there is a long talk and tears(mostly Dick), Dick and Starfire are the only ones that found out about Jason so far.

I am sick, dizzy, and can barely think but you know what would be WILD?
If the DC universe was an echo of Danny’s world. What if the continents of their planet shifted enough where Amity is now in New Jersey and had then become Gotham.
And when Danny died underneath the portal a part of his death fractured and imprinted itself into those various worlds. One of them being Gotham, where Danny’s home ironically used to be where Wayne Manor used to be.
So just imagine it, you’re coming back from patrol, grimy, sweaty, and with questionable intentions by dressing as an overgrown bat when suddenly the lights dim. It dims and brings darkness, only enough light to catch the beady marble eyes of the bats you fear.
And then electricity jumps in the middle of the room, flinging itself around like an agitated snake in wide open circles.
Everyone is backing away, some weary, some cursing, some just half way out of their own suit.
And then a child — barely as old as your youngest now, flickers to life before you, screaming and screaming, wailing in pain as the scent of burning flesh mingles into the air. You can see the boy, black hair and blue eyes that underneath the bright light that burns them is causing black to turn white, and blue to turn green.
The electricity crackles and when the boy is about the drop, limp, certainly lifeless, he vanishes as if nothing had ever been there.
But he comes back, he always comes back, in the moment of calm and in the moment of despair, echoing that painful wailing of death.
It’s so wrong.
It’s very, very wrong.
It didn’t even matter anymore why the boy showed up, only that this moment of pain continues to haunt the cave of heroes.
Continuously haunting, even as some whispered apologizes when the boy appeared. Continuously haunting, even as some provided songs of comfort when the boy appeared. Continuously haunting, even as stories of Gotham are told and promises (though uncertain and flimsy at best) are spoken to the wailing boy who always drops fast and disappears just as quickly.
Always, it was the same.
Until one day it wasn’t.
The electricity crackled like it always did. A spark, and then a calamity of light. And the boy would be there, uncurling himself into a tense position as he would wail.
But not this time.
Instead the boy curled himself in the air, calm as can be, almost as if he were sleeping. Even the electricity that they have learned to dance away from was calm, gentle, like ocean waves.
And when the electricity vanished, the boy did not, instead dropping to the floor where Dick was quick to catch him, grunting in preparation of weight only to show alarm at how thin the boy truly was.
On that face that has haunted them all for months is just a boy, sleeping, and scarred. A boy breathing very slow, slower than what they would like, but here in the physical realm with them.
Dick brushed back bangs of black hair, and slowly, ever so slowly, glazed blue eyes stared back.
