yeah i've had that happen to me, multiple times. luckily i haven't got too cancelled over it... yet.
btw ever seen a community say in pmuch those words "we're welcoming and accepting of neurodivergents ☺️" just besides "being autistic isn't an excuse for missing nonverbal social cues 😠"?
I feel like there's this idea that if you are autistic then you will be able to ignore social/communication difficulties if you join communities composed of other autistic people, and unfortunately based on what I've seen this is absolutely not reliably the case.
Sure, a group of autistic people will probably be better at proactively navigating communication difficulties, and many people might have certain baselines in common, but everyone's brain works differently, and there is just as much room for autistic people to misunderstand or misinterpret each other in ways in that neurodivergence makes one more prone to as there are with allistic people. Especially given that many of the intuitive social subtexts that will ease things between allistic people are not present on either side of the conversation.
In fact, diverse communication needs can sometimes cause social fallouts between autistic people to be even more catastrophic when they occur.

"every day" is a powerful method. 's how I manage to take my meds with quasi-perfect regularity, and other things.
ppl with This Neurotype need to figure out what markers our brains will accept as uh. marking. and then use those
it's kind of fucked up even if positive that 'oh i'll make sure to write a little each day' just. worked. at least in the sense that i've been doing it for months now consistently and it sure fucking looks like i'll end up with a complete work of fiction by the end.
twenty years of my life lamenting i couldn't do longform writing because i just give up and then this time I just. didn't. and I'd be tempted to attribute it to the specific intervention except obviously I tried that before. multiple variations on 'ok i'll try to get some amount of writing done regularly' failed but this one succeeded.
I don't think it's that i happen to have picked the right exact reinforcement system and writing goal for my brain this time and I could have have been doing this forever, I think I changed. or my circumstances or something (there's certainly an obvious circumstance change that preceded it. was that it? who knows).
and things like it have happened before, i don't think i'll ever get entirely past social anxiety but wow when i remember how bad it was when I was eighteen vs now it's almost like being a different person. i'm not but.
fucked up that I can just take it as given my brain is terrible at certain things and then i try again later and it just. works.

Note
the connection between (post-childhood) autism and being trans is that realizing either label applies to you requires a level of introspection that 90% of the massculture sponges we call humans simply don't reach the fun thing abt social media is that it's created spaces where 'autistic and trans' is actually the norm so people start using the labels for themselves while still doing zero introspection about it
eh, that's one of the just-so stories.. i like this one, it's flattering to me.
