i’ve been lost in the twiyor (sxf) sauce recently and the idea of different ways of getting intel kind of hit me while reading fic 😋

akaashi definitely over-plans and over-analyses the people he’s looking into, meanwhile i think bokuto would take a more organic approach. there’s just some information you can’t get from data analysis no matter how thorough. but for akaashi, a direct approach limits information to whatever conditions it occurs in. it’s limited. it can’t be generalized. it’s usefulness pales in comparison

i think they both should get to have an ego bc their styles work for themselves and they both do good work :3 perchance even get a bit competitive. it’s a competitive field they work in, it’s only natural :3

hi addie :3 i'm actually a big fan of the miyagi first years training camp friend group...i like to think that kogane starts a big group chat that hinata and goshiki use a lot, and kindaichi finds himself replying to it more often not, and hyakuzawa starts joining in, and kunimi and tsukishima might not be the most active members but they'll both reply to their friends. in particular i'm a really big fan of tsukishima and kunimi as friends...they're both really similar in how they react to kageyama and YET. they are on opposing sides of the net. kunimi and tsukishima are just so interesting to me.

how to Hinata and Akaashi stim?

im honored... lots of thoughts so under the read more :3

hinata:

- you didn't ask about kageyama however from what i've noticed in canon and just my own personal thoughts, i think kageyama tends to scrunch up more while hinata like, opens himself (arms etc) stim wise, especially when they're both celebrating a point. it's another way people notice them kind of being opposites. anyway for the rest!

- if hinata's not actively playing volleyball, he's almost always wiggling a little bit. i think he moves his feet a lot, and also tends to shift his weight around whenever he's sitting or standing for a while.

- he really loves the feeling of spinning a volleyball in his hands, but he can't do that for long because whenever he holds a volleyball (and is not actively in a game or practice) he's overtaken with the need to bump it repeatedly.

- humming or singing is also another stim for him; he likes the way it feels! he has a tendency to repeat little phrases he heard passing by to himself without realizing he's doing it.

- whenever he has a mechanical pencil in class he keeps clicking the button until he accidentally breaks or just completely releases the graphite and then he has to put it back in the pencil. multiple times he's tried to start writing in class and then immediately broke the lead because it was so long and he didn't realize he had clicked the button so many times.

- i'd say he's a happy hand flapper 🤔 he also just jumps and moves his arms a lot. i think if he could get everywhere by running or skipping he'd love that, unfortunately he ran into people and objects one too many times as a kid

- also makes little popping noises with his mouth or blows raspberries with his lips in a short repeating pattern when he does schoolwork because it helps him think. kageyama doesn't really like the sound and they've gotten into physical altercations about it but like they're fine

- when he was younger he would like, throw himself at his bed and let himself bounce off and repeat but stopped doing it regularly because he damaged one of his walls that way 😭 when he's very frustrated or just needs to get the energy out he'll do it sometimes

akaashi:

- i think his stims are mostly tactile and focused around his hands? he also enjoys running his hands over fabric.

- he has a tendency to bite his nails, and is working on replacing that habit with a different one, but it's been tough for him.

- get this guy some lotion. his hands are dry and he will pick at his hangnails. he likes the feeling even though he should probably stop

- he also will just feel his own hands. feeling the change from the slight curve of his finger to the knuckles and the fingertips and back again is really soothing for him.

- serial pen twirler.

- i don't quite know how to describe the motion, but he'll do this thing where he presses his palms together, then presses his fingers in one direction or the other.

- i feel like he likes mints a lot... he always has a little container of mints. one, because his mouth is dry a lot and so he gets worried about his breath but also he just likes the minty feeling.

i feel like its a given that noya loves camping :3c if he and iwaizumi got together for a camping trip i bet they could live out in the woods for like a month with no issues

oh ABSOLUTELY. you are so right. the only issue with this i foresee is i think iwaizumi would get sick of noya eventually. like, i say this with affection, i love noya. but he can be a lot fdjkls. but then again... idk. if iwaizumi can put up with oikawa, surely he can put up with noya.

anyway yeah. i think they both like camping the same way. they are very active and want to do a lot of things!!
