yall ever think Shen Yuan went through like, internet withdrawal after being transmigrated into Shen Qingqiu? Like, he's canonically a NEET shut-in who did nothing but spend his time online, you can't tell me that for the first week or first few weeks of being SQQ he wasn't twitchy.

Like, reaching instinctively to his pockets for a phone that wasn't there, having an obsessive itch in the back of his mind that he should check and see if X or Y novel or webcomic has updated -- only to realize he can't anymore and being irritated by it. Wanting to go and see if there's new posts about this or that, but again realizing that he can't.

When he's bored or uncomfortable or just feels like wanting to escape he tries to go for his phone to distract himself, but oops! Not there anymore, and now he has to find a new and different way to distract himself from his feelings. And going through system notifications, quests, etc only does so much.

And there's that Tetris Effect too. SQQ makes a mistake while writing and instinctively goes to backspace on it except hey-ho that's not a keyboard and now he just dipped his pinkie into a bottle of ink or on a still-drying letter.

With him scrambling to fix his reputation and learn how to be a peak lord, I think his abrupt cold-turkey from all things internet would just be another straw on the camel's back that he promptly Ignores until it goes away on its own after he acclimates to his new surroundings.

Like as the peak lord naturally he would be doing this kind #of stuff but hes NOT the peak lord but to keep up appearances he has to know how to do this stuff. and finds it??? actually quite rewarding #even more than getting into an argument online or getting a new merch item. he's making or doing this stuff. he starts drawing and finishes #a piece and regardless of its skill level he feels something unclog in his chest. like sediment being scraped off the bottom of a creek and #being washed downstream. a weight that's been slogging through his veins suddenly untangled. physical proof of his efforts that feels great #starry is incapable of NOT giving her favorite blorbos more hobbies. starry is incapable of not giving her favorites artsy hobbies #this is probably NOT a new or original thought whatsoever but im throwing it out there anyways bc it fascinates me. i love transmigration #and albeit i've only read isekai manhwa/manhua there's a common theme of the people there assimilating into their new lives relatively quic #which i know is for ease of transition and getting to the rest of the story. but WHAT IF.#i have still not read svsss yet and idk when i'll be able to BUT have some thoughts anyways

Quick question for the Touchstarved fandom!! As much as we love Ais calling us 'Sparrow,' I have to ask - if you had to decide, what other bird nickname do you think he would call you/your MC? :O

For example, Ais would my Unnamed MC Daniella 'bluebird,' while he'd call my Alchemist MC Edgar 'crow' (and another OC I'm planning, Shinju, 'woodpecker!')

#Ais calling Mhin 'that dove' has made something click in my brain and I had to ask this orz #Ngl it made me wonder- Does Ais base his bird nicknames off of appearance or personality?? Or both?? Or something else??#Doves mean peace and pacifism and uh *looks at Mhin* Peace and love to them but they don't exactly remind me of either of those- Mhin's hai #has the same color as doves though so that makes me think back to appearances.. But maybe peace is something that Mhin yearns for? Idk #Sparrows mean resilience; adaptability; joy; and freedom- I remember someone saying that freedom is something that Ais wants due to Ocudeus #But also that sparrows are one of the most common birds in the world- So to Ais (at least at first) you're just another face to him #and he tries to distance himself from you by calling you a common bird. Updated persona because my hair has changed so much

My old persona was just my fursona humanized. It just never felt like me due to that, especially since I haven't had long hair since 2017.

#modsona #like your modpon fursona etc can look vastly different from you and it wouldn't cause dissonance #but I feel like your modsona/persona should either look like you or be an idealized version of you...if that makes sense #like the long hair and slight purple hue of my old one is not something I would ever do so it didn't feel like me lol #that's just a personal preference you don't gotta adhere to it btw lol #like this persona is the most accurate looking to me IRL that I've ever made #the one I used through school was pretty much Aerial as a human and Aerial was based of that persona #then when Aerie became really her own character I was like WHOOPS gotta change that #and I was too lazy to design a new one so I just humanized my fursona for like a decade //wheeze

#obscura #art #art:anatoly #nuclearocs #nuclearart #i've been fighting art block for a good while now so this is just a simple doodle to get me back into the flow of things ^_^#anatoly is a cosmonaut who ends up losing his whole crew in space after some weird stuff took place on the moon #gets rescued by an american crew that was also on the moon. most of them die too. it's a whole thing #either way he gets stuck in the obscurus academy with quincy (one of the american astronauts) as the only two survivors #that aren't. like. a vegetable. like the two other survivors who both caught whatever disease they brought home from the moon #rome is trying to keep the case within the academy because he doesn't want nasa to get involved #+ he believes that whatever happened to them in space is connected to his own theories which may get him closer to #figuring out what happened to his sister and her crew all those years back when they seemingly vanished in space #<- he's right btw it is indeed connected. the disease is a parasite that got swept into their bases on the moon by some storm #which originated from leviathan's gorge (rift in space to another dimension) which is where judah (rome's sister) and her crew went #after they accidentally created the gorge during their mission. that's a lot of text but it makes sense. to me

probably a very very hot take on this website but I kind of hate the fandom culture of taking two characters (not always but usually same sex) with a very deep or strong bond and going "omg they're so queercoded" "they're literally canon" when like 90% of the time the things they do yes, show a deep devotion to one another, but could just very much be read as platonic love. it's very amatonormative imo and paints romance as the ultimate and deepest form of love rather than just another type of it that can be equally as strong as platonicity.

#if you want an example of this trend that's actually queercoded look at pearlina from splatoon #a lot of the stuff they do/say has an explicitly romantic subtext that you can tell the creators meant for #like how marina draws pearl or when she gets mad at acht for flirting with her #as opposed to a ship like marcille and falin from dungeon meshi #where people go “they're so lesbians” but most of what they do can very well just be platonic and show a strong friendship #yes even the bath scene. friends of the same gender taking baths together is very normalized in japan.#take this with a grain of salt because i have only really seen the anime but from what i've heard and seen of the manga #i doubt there are really many examples of romantic subtext there either #wrightworth is like the flagship example of “they're so canon” to me and that one's complicated #like there are very much examples of romantic subtext and we know the creators took inspiration from yaoi from the second game onwards #but a lot of the scenes people point to as examples of queercoding can just be read as platonics #i'm sorry gang but “unnecessary feelings” doesn't necessarily imply romantic feelings #i get that it's fun to go “teehee they're so gay look” but it's at the point where it's a meme. and undermines what actual queercoding is.#as i've drifted away from fandom culture because of the antisemitism™#i don't feel nearly as much of a need to justify my ships based on canonicity anymore #like yeah it can suck for your favorite ship to not have much evidence when you need it for shipping wars #but have you considered shipping wars are fucking stupid in the first place #who cares. one of my otps have barely interacted in canon and idgaf.#i like them because i think they're a good match not because i have proof of them acting gay #and again it's very amatonormative and the prioritization of romantic relationships over platonic ones in fandoms are a whole other convo #i don't even identify as arospec anymore and it still bugs me to no end #amatonormativity #hila has spoken
