Do not like Dale x Audrey. If what I've heard is true, thank you Kyle Maclachlan for saying it was inappropriate and therefore being the reason they didn't become a couple in the show.
#I do not like wheeler and Audrey either#Nor do I like Dale and Annie#If Audrey was at least mid - late twenties maybe I'd like her and Dale as a couple but she was just barely a legal adult#so I cringe in disgust every time they try to frame them as romantic in the show#And then like with Wheeler whatever the fuck guy it's the same thing#Actually when I was watching the show I was deliberately misreading how old he was#because my brain was like 'no way they're still trying to pair this girl who is barely a legal adult with yet another grown ass man'#'no he's gotta be like just a guy that graduated really early and is like early twenties tops' but nah he was a full adult man#Gah I do like Twin Peaks but the age difference relationships make me sick and uncomfortable#AND THE WAY NO ONE CALLS THEM OUT#Not the Narrative#Not the Characters#it's just basically posed as one of the weird but essentially harmless things about these people in the show#but those things are NOT HARMLESS#Anyway old shows can be fun but also majorly aggravating to watch for certain reasons#please don't hate me for being critical of this show if you love it#honestly in many ways I do too (it's my most recent hyperfixation) but I strongly believe in being critical of the things you enjoy#and this is a big element of this show that I dislike and I really appreciate Kyle Maclachlan for saying no to Dale and Audrey as a couple#Genuinely if they had become a couple I would have stopped watching out of discomfort#Twin Peaks#Dale Cooper#Special Agent Dale Cooper#Audrey Horne#Anti Cooper x Audrey

stg, being an enjoyer of jane twdg is like being forced into an expert-level course on the way misogyny manifests in video game spaces.
god forbid a woman be complex or difficult or provably mischaracterized (see tags) at the end of her arc to service the culmination of a man’s storyline.
#“kenny was harrowed by loss in his family” so was jane. that is part of them literally being foils.#“kenny teaches clem more!” literally untrue a lot of clem’s combat style is rooted in what jane taught her (targeting the knees & basically#everything clem knows about knife combat- jane is also mirrored with lee in this sense as like was previously stated knife combat later goe#on to become a major element of how clem fights only outweighed by her use of firearms)#she teaches clem the gut trick & we see the innovative thinking that comes with being more independent & proactive influence the way clem#handles sticky situations & deals with feeling disempowered. like this is going to sound odd but the fact that her behaviour mirrors jane#at her best (even though her relationship with aj is more maternal the way she approaches him much more as an equal & capable of holding#agency over his own life is much more reminiscent of the way she was treated by jane & luke positively + the rest of the adults negatively#than how kenny or even lee treated clem [though lee did start to view her this way after the train] + her people reading skill.) & at her#worst (isolating herself + becoming cold + the fact she is [based on player choice] willing to leave aj behind for both their survival +#struggling with her need for community vs her sense of distrust in their lasting stability + her tendency to be unfeelingly pragmatic to a#fault except when it comes to aj + the fact that clem- at her worst is self-serving & somewhat uncaring in comparison to kenny’s possessive#hot-headedness etc) indicates that on some level- regardless of a player’s second season ending- clem considered jane to be a better#behavioural role model- this isn’t to say kenny was unimpactful but rather that his impact was different- where behaviourally we see elemen#of lee luke jane & even carver in clem’s later behaviour kenny’s impact is more so that of a cautionary tale- somebody clem cared for who#she witnessed lose himself entirely to his worst character flaws due to an inability to cope with the world she now lives in- something he#even admits to her in multiple endings iirc. kenny becomes the fate clem must strive against at all costs.#similar can be said of the ending where you go with jane regarding how it analogies clem’s fears & low self worth as a result of being#unable to maintain what she had with aj (in a manner that mirrors jane’s story in that she’s choosing to leave behind a living relative due#to no longer being able to be what they need- again depending on player choice*)#*my exact memory of the third season is hazier tbh. iirc it is dependent on player choice whether she is complacent with the decision to#make her leave the new frontier.#like the way the ending was handled was sloppy & jane was mischaracterized as a result of being shoved into a conflict that we know for#certain was not intended to go to her. calm down & just enjoy your man without being weird & misogynistic dear god.)#(also if you like clem & jane you will like holly robinson & selina kyle dc)#twdg jane#jane twdg#twdg

This Gilded Abyss
fantasy/thriller/romance, start of a series
gilded-age fantasy world where a rare magical substance is mined deep undersea
a sergeant struggling with grief and trauma of her best friend dying in a mine collapse, is asked by a young royal (…her ex girlfriend) to help her investigate a strange murder - on the luxury submersible heading exactly where she never wants to return to
when there’s another massacre, confirming their suspicions that it’s caused by an illness inducing a violence craze, they have to find a way to survive, trapped on the ship until it arrives at the undersea city
#this gilded abyss#aroaessidhe 2025 reads#this is definitely imperfect but i had fun. it’s a very wild dramatic action movie kind of book#There’s a lot of fun steampunky sff worldbuilding elements that I love#I would have liked some more worldbuilding about their god/religion because there was basically none#other than the occasional curse. considering how that’s clearly going to become more relevant#There’s clearly going to be more exploration of the wider political situation and also god stuff in the latter books -#definitely interested in where that goes. I do think it could end up being too much? or a massive shift from this book. we’ll see!#it is also. pretty brutal with the death count. some plot twists I didn’t guess! Some I really should have based on the name…#It’s definitely a book where you have to be here half for the romance; too. I liked their dynamic.#Pretty obviously at least partly caitvi inspired but I’m not mad about that.#(hilarious how many accidental references there are to season 2 caitvi things considering this book came out an entire year before...#they seem like such pointed references too.)#They absolutely stand as their own characters though! I love how Kessandra is a little unhinged (experimenting on yourself at 16…)#there’s definitely also some other interesting friendship and characters too#re: being reasonably romance centred (and also accidental arcane coincidences) -#absolutely Not The Time for a sex scene oh my god. but at this point reading romancey books I just assume that’s inevitable and enjoy it#(I wasn’t expecting That Much though. but good for them and their fantasy vibrator)#(i do have to agree with that one review though. shaved? smh)#always love Natalie Naudus’ narration!#probably my favourite of RT’s books; just by nature of the concept#also; very different in a lot of ways but worldbuilding vibes reminded me of odder still#sapphic books#another one i waited an entire year for on QLL

Okay why do I just imagine maruki can literally glow up in the dark like a lamp or a glow stick due to him having the bless element
Like imagine if there's a power outage and maruki just straight up shakes his hand and then his hand glows up like some kind of flashlight or something
Or just automatically make him shine like a fucking diamond
#persona 5 royal#persona 5#maruki#dr maruki#dr. maruki#persona 5 royal maruki#persona 5 maruki#I just want to say this because it's so goddamn funny#but to be honest sumi well honestly have that same thing as well too except#her light will probably be dimmer then his basically big downgrade#and also it'll be most importantly funny if sumi just automatically glows up wherever there's a power outage in the metaverse or whatever#the hell if her home becomes dark#takuto maruki#maruki takuto#sumire yoshizawa#because she was mentioned lol#like they just blow up like a lamp or something due to them having the bless elemental

Okay it’s 3am and I have to be at my first day of work at my new job in seven hours.. but I just had a THOUGHT.
So hear me out- Jay can control electricity. Obviously.
But has anyone else considered the idea of him being able to basically mind control other people?? Or hack their bodies?? Since humans literally run on electrical impulses??
Now I know Nya can’t draw the water out of his lungs, but that doesn’t mean that using your element inside someone else’s body is impossible. Maybe that’s just confined to other elemental masters. And of course I haven’t seen DR yet (two episodes away from finishing Crystallized!! I’ll have caught up with DR by this time next week for certain), but I’ve heard a lot of discussion about Jay coming back as a villain in S2… can you imagine how absolutely batshit of a villain Jay concept would be if he came back and just mind controlled people?? And it would totally tie into his cult leader antics as well (I’m still so sad that the League of Jays was pretty much abandoned after the first couple episodes… it was such a funny concept and could’ve actually been used for some fantastic plot/character development … but… alas :( )
Anyway. Basically all that to say I just got smacked in the face with a new Villain Jay idea and I’m soooo going to start using him for fic stuff. Maybe I’ll even tie it in to the AU concept I’ve been working on for a while.. maybe..
#Ninjago#lego ninjago#Jay Ninjago#jay walker#villain Jay walker#I haven’t talked about my AU concept yet but I’m really in love with it HAH#we get lots of angst.. and it primarily focuses on Zane and Pixal since they’re the only two left for like a thousand years#basically all the rest of the cast merge with their elements for plot reasons#but Zane either can’t cause he’s a robot#or refuses because the people of Ninjago still need a protector#so he and Pixal stay#and the other former ninjas become old deities/gods#no one believes they actually ever existed#but they worship them as divine beings#they’ve passed into myth and legend and Zane and Pix are pretty haunted by losing them and being the only ones to remember their lives#eventually they will come back but they wil probably be wrong and my Nindroids won’t know how to feel or handle it#I can’t wait to write that actually#but Jay getting reanimated as a villain would be sooooo rad

I know a lot of writers that agree with me but it is a strange feeling to be surrounded by people irl who would probably cut me off or think I whole-heartedly endorse everything I write and I'm gonna be honest a boy is a little hurt.
Like when did we start to agree that art couldn't be messy? That all of our portrayals must be sanitized and neat so that no one misinterprets me or has to question what they think about something they've read? Why must I avoid subtly and be blunt when talking about a wrong thing so people know that I think it's wrong. Are you not bored? Is it not limiting? Shouldn't we just all read how-to pamphlets instead?
#june trash#I'm just in a rant mood ignore me#but it's very hard because this person is now family and every day I have to listen to them basically imply I'm a monster without knowing I#write the same things#or like completely write off tropes#or other elements without at all discussing how the author engages with them#like maybe I am so afraid of publishing because my I worry my entire life will just become this talk but at family dinners

i am really never going to understand why people post "shifting antis dni" in the astral projection tag. "here practice that constantly gets appropriated by us and used as a weird justification for a new set of beliefs that aren't really based in the same reality you work with, and that also gets completely misunderstood by our community because we don't care to understand what you do and just pretend we know it's what we do like christians saying other religions worship the christian god, have a post! Also dni if you don't like our practice that has nothing to do with the one whose tag we just shoved this into"
if you're not astral projecting don't put shit in the ap tag. if you don't even know the difference between AP and RS I dont think your opinion holds enough weight to counter the pushback against flooding a separate practice's tag with "if you dont like the practice I'm talking about in your tags dni"
#I mean on the other hand I sure am Not Interacting my god#Im not of the opinion RS isnt a thing. I know its a thing - its a complex programming of mental spaces that branches off of#actually. I wont say it branches off things. Its its own thing like autovisions dreams mindspaces and other simulations - but it is#ultimately mindwalking - or whatever term someone else would want to use I just coined that for myself. It's travelling and projecting#into the Mental Realm. which is. explicitly. not the Astral realm. It's still a thing! It's not lucid dreaming or imagination. Very much th#early stages of it and experiences of those who cant programme the reactive mental into settling are gonna be lucid dreams and#imagination - just like what happens when youre not good at AP. but like. it's. a fucking. separate practice#and i do not understand flooding tags that arent what youre talking about and then saying ''dni if you dont like what im talking about''#like yeah theres an element of ''dont blame people for how others treat them'' - its not a case of ''you piss people off and then expect#them to not hate you?'' its explicitly a case of... you are continuously misunderstanding AP and using it as a backing#for your own practices and mixing up the two showing you have fucking No idea what youre doing with AP... so how else are we#supposed to take RS other than ''its a complete misunderstanding of AP and clearly it isnt even developed enough as a practice nor#based on enough truth to have its practitioners have the slightest clue about off-plane and OOB practices... if this is what RSers think of#the world and how it works and this is the depths of their understanding of it I cant support Shifting as anything more than#fantasy with vague references to established practices used incorrectly as justification''#~abyssal murmurs#like. tldr. youre putting it in the way of a tonne fo Anti Shifters because a) youre putting it in the tags of an art your art steals#justification from and chronically chooses to misunderstand and walks all over and b) you're showing a complete disrespect to the#practice of AP by posting this in the tags showing that your ''information'' and ''teaching'' is so misinformed you think AP and RS#are the same thing... so of course people are going to see that and think negatively of your practice. Not out of spite - but as a reaction#in the way of you are showing us that your practice is shallow and misunderstood#Look! If i walk into a jewish theology lesson and the speaker is convinced christianity and judaism are the same religion#to the point that when they post on social media they tag both when they talk about either... it looks like that speaker is clueless if the#cant even getthe basics of ''So what is it that I'm teaching about?'' answered right. If you cant even define the boundaries#of your practice as ''this is our practice this isnt'' then why is anyone going to think what youre teaching is real and grounded#and worth listening to and anything more than a crock of shite based on sounding mystical and Love and Light and freeing#at the cost of turning your mind off to just Believe what youre doing is grounded outside the mental??? why would people NOT#see these posts and BECOME antis

apparently i have to 'describe them' if i want ppl to hear about them
#anyway thinking of my long lost dreamtale twins#a very old version of my main au#so it exists in the same way as c4-dust does ig#basically they are from the remnants of a collapsed fgod au#where error 'dies' by jumping into the void and after a while it causes the multiverse to collapse#dream and nightmare survive because of their god-like nature (ink and error do too but this was focussed on nightmare n dream)#and basically#they get sent to a version of our world with more supernatural elements#(technically it was a dr who thing but idk if id keep that-)#and because of their code trying to mesh with the new universe they become humanoid#but they extremely seperated at the start#thought they appear human; theyve kept their magic#i never finished thinking of what to do with dream but nightmare basically#lashed out n killed a bunch of people when they first got sent their and gets captured by like#“secret government agency involving the supernatural” kinda thng#n yeah dream would eventually find him#and hed get out#and friendship n shit yay#maybe ill fully flesh this out n draw them... someday#LLdreamtale#<using that as a tag if i do#rambles#nightmare sans#dream sans#dreamtale twins#dreamtale#my au

The Memory Theater
dark-fairytale-like historical fantasy
follows two best friends trapped in a fey-like world of endless feasts and dancing and decadence, forced to be servants to the lords and ladies who hold their names hostage
when his mistress breaks free of the world - without returning the name & memories to the boy - they must travel throughout dimensions to find her so he can find his way home, with the help of a mysterious traveler and a storytelling interdimensional theater
friendship, stories, set against the backdop of WWII
#The Memory Theater#aroaessidhe 2024 reads#this is interesting! I like the take on a dark fey kind of story#(though in this case it’s more like. they’re mimicking fey to the point of basically becoming them)#(there are also less court-like fey briefly too)#I like the way the narrative feels like a fairytale#and all the interesting little elements of the interdimensional worlds - and different kinds of people and creatures - while leaving most o#and of course a central friendship driving the story is nice :)#(there’s ALMOSt no romance if you take out like 4 paragraphs - not between the main characters regardless)

Imagine being a parent and watching your baby’s formula run out, knowing the next can is so expensive it may as well not exist. You search desperately for alternatives—but all you have is a bit of rice and some cow’s milk, not meant for infants. You have no choice but to feed it to her , praying it keeps her alive, even as you watch it make her sick.

Images: Hossam Al-Qazzaz sent us update photos of his daughter, Habiba, who is currently in hospital due to her parents having to feed her ground rice and milk, in addition to pollution in the food.
@diana-family
Written by @rumiandroses
This is the reality for Hossam Al-Qazzaz in Gaza. His ten
-month old daughter, Habiba, is now in the hospital—weak, undernourished, her tiny hand wrapped in gauze and tape, an IV doing the job that formula should have done.
Hossam, his wife Hanan, and their four children—Bashar (9), Hani (8), Diana (4), and baby Habiba—are displaced once again, forced to flee after their area was designated an active combat zone. The little shelter they had left among the ruins of their home is now unsafe. They now sleep in a tent, with no walls to protect them and no roof to shield them from the bombs or the elements.
Despite it all, they cling to hope—hope that they’ll survive long enough to escape. Hope for a day when their children can live in peace.
But survival alone has become a full-time battle. Over the past few weeks, Hossam has faced death multiple times just trying to access aid. He’s seen his brother-in-law and nephew severely injured in front of him. He’s made dangerous trips to aid centers, only to return empty-handed or narrowly escape shelling. He does all of this while also caring for his family and elderly parents, both in poor health.
Gaza’s infrastructure has collapsed. Jobs have vanished. There is no electricity, no clean water, and no stable access to food or medicine. Even basic items like rice, cooking gas, clothing, and diapers are becoming luxuries, as prices skyrocket due to the Israeli blockade and severe shortages. Baby formula, when it can be found at all, costs over $60 a can—an impossible amount for a family with no income.
Since this war began, the Al-Qazzaz family has endured the unthinkable: being bombed out of their home, attacked by wild animals in the night while displaced, suffering from malnutrition, and living in fear of each new dawn.
And still, they keep going.
Please, for the sake of little Habiba—who was born into a war she never chose—and for her family, we ask you to share their story. Help us connect them with those who can donate, no matter how small. Every act of kindness counts. Every share, every dollar, every prayer helps bring this family one step closer to safety, stability, and dignity.
You can donate to the Al-Qazzaz family's GoFundMe campaign here:
This campaign has been vetted by @gazavetters and is #287 on their list of verified campaigns.

It's really cool how, after Chapter 2 established the idea of Darkners (who aren't Ralsei) eventually petrifying when in a Dark World they 'don't belong' in, both Chapter 3 and Chapter 4 found a way to use that idea in really weird and creative ways to enhance their themes.
Chapter 3 blurs the seemingly obvious lines of "every Darkner belongs in the Dark World that created them", asks what does it really mean to 'belong'. A Plugboy (Ramb) and plenty of Pippins were brought to life via the Dark Fountain that created everything in TV World… and yet there are characters expressing the idea they don't belong due to their Dark World Backstories that means that they come from other Worlds - even if these obwere still totally in Kris' living room when those those Dark Fountains were opened.
And then it messes with it even further by having all the Pippins be totally fine, while Ramb the Plugboy and even one of the Zappers got petrified. It seems like the idea of belonging or not belonging in a Dark World is a lot more abstract and emotion-based then we previously thought. The Pippin's dialogue about Ramb implies he got petrified simply because he never really made friends, because he never fit in.
And that just… really helps the atmosphere of the endgame of TV World. The way that Tenna's obsession and breakdown is causing his world to crumble all around him, causing his own people to feel alienated. And this idea of feeling like you never really belong in your own home obviously fits in with the undercurrents of Dreemurr Family Drama that run through the entire chapter.
Meanwhile in Chapter 4, the Petrification is used to emphasize the narrative element of Predestination and, well, Prophecy. Because it's not just that the Darkners from the original "Dark Sanctuary" manifest as Petrified when Susie creates her "Second Sanctuary"
The Darkners of the Second Sanctuary already appeared Petrified in the First Sanctuary.
Meaning that basically, as far as the Dark Worlds were concerned, Susie's creation of the Second Sanctuary was preordained. So preordained that the objects that would become the Darkners that populate that Dark World came to life as soon as the First Sanctuary did, but then turned to stone because they actually belonged in that not-yet-created other Sanctuary.

As a soon to be teacher... agreed. But also, in case someone misinterpret what I believe OP is trying to say, there are still skills one must develop.
A calculator is useless if you don't understand the basics of mathematical rules, and when to use what. And those skills won't stick of you've only done them once or twice.
You need to know what your human rights are, because if those rights are being challenged by an authority you might not have time to goole it — especially if you live in an area where police brutality is common.
You need to know the basics of history, so you can recognize patterns of what has happened before, and do your part (such as voting) to prevent such atrocities to occur again. If you don't know your history, you are much less likely to see what the consequences will be.
And last but not least: Google and other search engines are useless if you don't know how to check if something is true. Trolls, propaganda, misinformation, well meaning people spreading things they've understood wrong, AI garbage, clickbaits, advertisements from various degrees of sus or serious companies, conspiracies using bogus "science" as proof...
But for double checking which mathematical formula is best for a certain situation, or exact years/dates of events, etc. etc... go for it.
idk if any young person needs to hear this but when you work at a job you absolutely can google anything you don’t know or ask someone for help. school has you conditioned to think you have to have everything memorized all the time but let me tell you. I am dumb as shit and I am great at my job because it’s not a test, it’s just work. the more resources you utilize the better.
#the things we have to include in the lessons (where i live that is) are to let students become more or less familiar with tons of stuff#and some elements are mandatory to even pass#like in pe you have to be able to swim 200m of which at least 50m will have to be on your back in order to pass#and that's because we have a lot of streams and lakes in our country and it's a safety thing#with other stuff special exceptions can be made for certain students#anyway my point is that even though a lot of skills are listed several of them can be practiced at once#and most teachers will have the students practice them in different ways to let you familiarize yourselves with various things#but the thing most (competent) teachers will try to do (not always easy or even 100% possible to implement)#is to let the kids practice the basic “core” skills in various ways as much as possible#and tbf learning to memorize stuff (especially what things means) is part of that#school

In your Jewel redesign, you said that Wasp probably wouldn’t let her get away with full drag, but that does make me curious. What would a dragon in drag would look like?
you will not BELIEVE how much I've thought about this, both during and after designing her. I can answer your question and beyond!!

The (Drag) Queens of Pantala
In order to properly explore Pantalan drag, I first looked to the (cultural) definition of drag itself, as well as learning some brief history. With the first known preformance occurring in 1867 (Although not truly popularized until the 19th century,) Human Rights Campaign and other LGBTQ+ organizations describe drag as a preformance art form that uses costumes, makeup and other tools to illustrate exaggerated expressions of gender identity, intended to critique gender inequality or other social justice issues. Drag has traditionally been preformed/pioneered by members of the LGBTQ+ community, predominantly gay men and/or people of color.
With this in mind, Pantalan drag was most likely created and developed by Silkwings (especially in jewel hive) as a form of protest art. I imagine the movement was later popularized by hivewing audiences, becoming more palatable to the wider public after being endorsed by a privileged group as art movements often are. While there are a myriad of social justice issues Pantalan drag could have originally meant to critique, the loss of Silkwing rights and deforestation of Pantala were probably the two main driving topics.

Their Artistic Process
As for the actual production of drag costumes or makeup, Silkwings would have had to work with what was available to them - fruits, vegetables, basic dyes/craft materials and their own silk. They would construct their own jewelry using beads instead of gold, weave their garments, and grind mica with pigments and oil to make eyeshadow.
Leaves, roots and trees would be frequent design elements of early drag: with the eye-catching glamour of a dragon working to simultaneously distract detractors and seek out supporters. Heavy accessorizing and imagery of wealth would also be important to presenting Silkwings as equal to Hivewings, through metaphorical sense. The processes of creating Pantalan drag is what leads me to believe it would prosper best in jewel hive: outside of their relaxed rules and support of Silk/Hive equality, they would also have easiest access to craft materials, dyes and a lively art scene.. endorsed by Lady Jewel herself.

Just a few thoughts on drag. Thanks for asking this question! I was looking for a chance to spill and you gave it to me ( ´ ▽ ` ).。o♡
