Hmm, barbarian bakugo has a mini zoo that travels everywhere his tribe goes, because as much as he doesnt want to- he has a habit of unintentionally pissing u off, so its always good to have some animals to gift you as pets and try to cool your anger? I mean, imagine Barbarian Bakugo just climbing up your window with a baby sheep strapped to his back, using it as a shield when you yell at him for pushing your knight Izuku down the stairs (because katsuki said "back off from the princess. I can protect her")

Barbarian Bakugo loves to feed you with his own hands, especially when he's hunted the meat/cooked it on the camp fire. Like I can just see him pulling reader into his lap and giving you the first big bite with his hands, and then he eats whatever is left of the morsel himself before giving you the next bite. You dont understand his affection at first, chalking it upto his barbarian traditions youre unaware of. Your teeth sometimes graze his fingers when he feeds you, and Katsuki makes sure to lick that area particularly when he feeds himself the morsel. Oh also, youre not leaving until he thinks youre full. You could be feeling nauseous, ready to just about burst, but Katsuki thinks you can eat a little more. Besides, in his head, hes just training you to consume an average healthy barbarian diet.

Child bakugo and child reader were absolutely adorable- i mean, the number of times the servants have walked in on the two playing "wedding" where bakugo keeps on proposing to you with different exotic animals but you keep saying no because Emperor Kai has already gifted you all those exotic pets, and Katsuki is just on this mission to find you the most unique creature because then you'll just have to say yes to him. So... he steals a dragon egg.

Also- Bakugo and Empress Momo have been at each other's throats since they were kids- always fighting for your attention at royal playdates. Meanwhile, youre trapped under your lazy fat tiger- Rice Puff, who refuses to let you venture out of the castle to "invite a bear for tea party".

Knowing how much you despise concubine Keigo, Katsuki does take any oppurtunity he can to subtly disrespect him/frame him/get him in trouble in front of King Dabi (a difficult feat) and Prince Shotou (a much easier feat since SHotou already hates Keigo).

Bakugo- even tho hes a barbarian, has learned the waltz and other fancy shit royal families do, just for you. He wants you to be proud of him (not that he realised that you already had 2 left feet, but he doesnt mind u stepping on his feet), and knowing how protective Dabi is of you, he doesnt want any short comings from his part.

and you can talk about feeling neglected

at the end of it all he promises to put more effort but also wants you to know that you dont HAVE to do all those things for him to notice you/love you

Hi, while I dont know much about ACOTAR beyond what Ive read about it online, I want to ask for your opinion on why its depiction of the fae is dissatisfactory to the point they "arent fae", because in general it is accepted that there are multiple different ways to interpret mythical creatures such as vampires, werewolves, dragons and fey. Vampires have been depicted as everything from predatory, blood-thirsty abominations to cute and loveable heroes in children's media.

portrayal of every mythical creature varies but the mythical aspect is still kept in, yk? like for example,,, vampires have the oddly translucent skin, too-long fangs, the moon affecting them etc in every every every medium they've been depicted in ( or as far as i've seen ).

sarah j maas' fae portrayal is just. people. humans with powers and pointy ears. like feyre wears leggings and sweaters and teaches art class; what part of that is whimsical or fae? velaris is just new york if you could never leave. what is so special about it? where's the magic? the spring court wasn't very fae either but it had pools of starlight, will 'o' the wisps, etc. there was fantasy, magic.

to me it's just unsatisfactory because it's not magical or fantasy. i could pick up the average Dark Contemporary Billionaire Mafia Romance book and get pretty much the same dynamics. like you're telling me the court of night... has DAYLIGHT??? no. absolutely not. it should be night always, the plants grow sustained by dark magic or whatever.

like write the fae whatever way you wish but give them NUANCE, MAGIC, YOU KNOW THINGS THAT AREN'T NORMAL. like i don't want rhysand breaking the human status quo by fucking assaulting feyre, i want him to be too eerily flexible or have too many teeth or SOMETHING otherworldly. give tamlin a tail. lucien has thorns along his collarbones now. like please. be so fucking fr.

ALSOO how nesta and elain were changed by the cauldron but nothing changed about their physical appearance other than their ears??? they should have oddly translucent skin that shivers thinly over their veins because of their power, nesta's hands could be permanently tinged red to show how she wrangled the cauldron's heart from it, i'm sad at the lost potential now

SO, MY HIGH QUALITY HTTYD MOVIE ANALYSIS IS HERE

so as ive said before in old posts, i have been watching httyd over and over religiously for so long to the point ive memorized all the lines right

u see the quality of that movie on my old childhood laptop was not perfect. suitable for a simple viewing yes, but not analysis

i never thought about it until a couple of days ago, where i had the opportunity to... acquire... a really high quality version of the movie

took me nearly a whole day to get it to download but i got it and watched it last night

....and wow. it really felt like i got my glasses again and i noticed so many more things. and there were a lot of cool characterizations and animations i missed

Literally just a few seconds in and im surprised by how beautiful the night sky is (THERE WERE NEBULAE???) i knew toothless was there but it caught me off guard how pretty and numerous the stars were

SO FIRST SCENE THE RAID

being able to visibly see with such detail that i could see the hair strands of the vikings was wowie, and STOICK'S WRINKLESSS

BUT THE ONE I WANTED TO TALK ABOUT WAS WHEN HICCUP WAS SHOOTING DOWN TOOTHLESS

I DIDNT KNOW YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO SEE HIS SILHOUETTE BLOCKING OUT THE STARS HERE THATS SO DAMN COOL

the thing i noticed the most in this viewing is Stoick's microexpressions, he has A LOT that i missed simply because the quality wasn't high enough for me to spot them because typically hes not the focus of the camera

for example, here when Gobber and Stoick talk

he makes gestures (when he says his father told him to bang his head he lightly hits the pillar to emphasize it) as well as moves his hands almost very similarly to Hiccup and thats so endearing (Gobber seeing all the similarities but still has to mediate between the two of em HAHAAHAH)

HIS EYES....

His spots are super visible in this version too its such a treat to see everytime Toothless is there

also this composition! I just noticed how nicely placed the stairs are, it gives a natural divide between the two of them

this one here, he has a split second microexpression where he's thinking about what to say next, i think he realized he has to at least encourage him, not scold him

he's less confident as he walks out too, its blurry but he keeps shifting his eyes back to hiccup. if he isn't asserting authority on hiccup they're just both awkward around each other kjfdbglskk

my favorite thing about the dragons are their eyes, toothless' eyes does a wonderful job conveying his emotions even if its just to dilate when he's happy or narrow when he's assessing or feels in danger, its one of the traits i rlly loved watching in the first

the series of exchanges these to have rlly is just them expressing civility that they think the other would approve of, (Hiccup spares him, Toothless spares him in return. Hiccup merely observes, he observes back. Hiccup drops his weapons, Toothless drops his guard. Hiccup gives him fish, Toothless having not much to offer, decides to share it with him.) It shows how Toothless is quite considerate and honorable.

and i like how in the first movie when he's aggressive he shows off his teeth and especially his gums more. i dont think i see his gums as prominently in the,,, sequels which is a shame because the light colors of his mouth contrasts super well with his dark scales

Could you talk about your infection au? I'm invested in it and I've been thinking about it all day

YES HULLO !! i dont want to spoil anything too much and im also working on a field guide sort of thing for the different stages of infection so im gonna try not to talk about those rite neow BUT im so glad that people r enjoying it! so id been seeing these scary mlp infection things ALLL over my tik tok feed for weeks and i was like .. yanno .. itd be really silly if i made this wof .. so i spent like 3 days mulling over what i could make the infection actually BE and i almost made it like the icewing plague but like it went scary but i didnt really know how to keep going with that so then i came up with a super smart idea which turned into this😋i dont wanna say where it started yet cuz ermm lore stuff but i will say that liek in the story the infection doesnt officially have a name yet so everyones just calling it like. the sickness at jade mountain. most of the infected originated IN jade mountain with the first symptoms being noticed in moon and turtle respectively, and then with the icewing students. i cant tell you guys how they got sick bc again . lore ..... but i think that its like kinda possible to find out. but i dunno. vulture and fierceteeth are also sick. there is ONE singular factor that unites these 4 + icewings, which miight b the reason WHY they got sick.kinkajou technically SHOULD be sick but she isnt for another reason that i cant say but if you really look into wof lore then i think u can figure it out idk. the infections transmitted via saliva/blood transmission, so mainly bites. tail barbs of infected sandwings are capable of spreading the sickness. there are 4 stages (5 if you count death) and it takes around 3 to 3.5 weeks for all stages to finish,, by ep3 the sickness has been around for ~2.5 weeks. the only KNOWN cure is amputation of wherever the infected area is,, so MUCH easier in early stages, unfortunate if its on an inconvenient spot, and impossible after hives start spreading. obvi flame had to be important bc i heart flame and i was like .. wait .. hes a healer in canon ...... so that worked out perfectly !! ik that in canon liana is like one of glorys MANY bodyguards but idc shes a healer here bc ermm i said so . also liana and mango r dating but i dont think that its relevant to the plot theyre just girlfriends in my head . as of right now kinkajou and peril are the only known immune dragons, with kinkajou for reasons currently unknown and peril bc . yknow . shes on fire . glory is in close contact with ruby and both kingdoms have taken measures to notify their kingdoms; the rainforest is under a sort of lockdown with rainwings on constant patrol/lookout for outsiders entering, they accept anyone who isnt infected to stay there for refuge while the skywing kingdom is in basically total lockdown other than ruby's messengers. ruby and glory also exchange their respective kingdoms medical knowledge, with the skywings having very good technology and rainwings having an expansive knowledge on medical herbs. nobody has heard from coral- the last thing she did was call for anemone's return back to the kingdom, and once she arrived, they all went underwater and have since then cut all outside contact. the mudwings are aware of the sickness but have so far done nothing about it; moorhen has warned her subjects but thats really it. i havent really decided what the sandwings or the icewings are up to but let me tell you guys its looking really rough for the icewings . so far it looks as though royal icewings are more resilient- tundras currently sick, but the sickness seems to be progressing much slower. this was initially believed to be because of the cold, but then other icewings started getting sick, and so its believed to just be a royal thing- likely something in their genetics. icicle is also sick but shes in stage 4 .. pray for my girl guys. lynx is helping snowfall out the best she can, but with the population getting increasingly sick seemingly spontaneously, its extremely difficult and stressful. the talons have quarantined sanctuary too. ok im outta characters but ya ty 4 the support!!

One thing that annoys me so hard is whenever i see people boil down grrms writing to be the most bland, MEDIOCRE, boring ass take ever 😭 guy LOVES fantasy, he LOVES to worldbuild with mythology in mind, he LOVES prophecies- characters like Dany are literally the walking embodiment of his love for fantasy and the fantastical. YET I have to keep seeing the most braindead, tumblresque, BLANDEST takes ever. "hOTD IiS aBOuT tWO sPoIlED dAdDy iSsUED bRaTS", first of all we all know grrm sold his soul to hbo like faust sold his to the devil- but he literally DENOUNCED the show 😭 to think this everburning car accident that plagues the screens of the times square in nyc is an ACCURATE depiction of georges work is laughable. Im not gonna tell you what the dance is about, BESIDES that with removing the fantastical aspect (literally blood betrayal, dying of the dragons, the long night coming again), also removing the obvious aspect of womanhood in westeroa something that is DRIVING FORCE ON WHY THIS CONFLICT EXISTS, is fucking laughable. Especially because George DOES write about this misogyny, internalized or not so much, to completely ignore that point to push the fucking stupid "holier then thou because i hate the targaryens BC they are conquerers despite the people they conquered literally comitting two mass genocides together with forced conversion" (on that point who tf of yall think u can seperate the hightowers from the faith pre-dance?), is literally my achilles heel. I need some of you all to use your brain and THINK, very hard and long, and READ thru awoiaf or one of the DOZEN OTHER NOVELLAS we have on the dance, the blood betrayal, the long night.

Also another quick rant: this wannabe 'historian' pov of "im just boiling it down to the most blandest, white toast bread, ignoring and misinterpreting the lore the the extent that it would make the dumb and dumber PROUD" is so annoying- coming from someone who is studying history with a focus on pre-modern era (aka middle ages) atm. This doesnt work for a world in which *dragons* and *magic* not only EXISTS but also indirectly or even directly influences the fade of the world.

My take? The blood betrayal definitively definitively is there, was written to resemble the dance of dragons (or the other way around). Yeah ignore a younger brother betraying his older sister who was the rightful heir to the throne of an empire only ruled by men till then. Yeah ignore how that sister is called amethyst empress (in a line of a thousand different gems names there could be), while her brother is called the bloodstone emperor (which is btw a GREEN STONE WITH RED FLECKS). Yeah ignore that this betrayal is what caused the Maiden-made-of-LIGHT to turn her back on the world meanwhile the Lion of the NIGHT came forth with demons (with what the others are compared to btw) to the realm of MEN. Yeah ignore that Dany is also suppose to mirror/parallel the amethyst empress and that fixing the wrongs of her ancestors is also her whole thing. Yeah ignore that the breaker of chains, the Prince that was promised, the one who has an dynasty resting on her back, whose downfall started with the dying of dragons in a war fought over the heir not having a dick, is also a (very) young woman, her womanhood also playing a part in her whole Story. Am i saying Rhaenyra or Dany are the AE reborn? Hell No, and if id bet my money on Dany. But both of them and their conflicts get so extremely paralleled with the Amethyst Empress History that you have to be literacy blind to not see that.

But thats my opinion, you can believe what you want as long as you dont boil hotd down to being the "truth" and ignoring the existing fantasy/magic as well as the world building relevant extreme misogyny.

How do you feel about Slade Wilson?

I personally could never get myself to like him strictly for what he did for Tera like I can excuse a lot of things but what he did to her is not one of them. I don’t know, I can never get myself to like him. Am I missing out?

I don’t know much about him beyond his titans cameos so is there an extra layer to his character that makes him likable?

Or is he just unlikable? How do you feel about him and him as a parent?

i think slade can be such a compelling character when hes written well. but the problem is that he is rarely written well

like. he's interesting to me BECAUSE he's such a terrible person and i hate him so much. he's a pedophile and an abuser and just an unapologetically horrible person and i LOVE it when writers don't ignore that. one of the reasons i love deathstroke 2016 is because priest doesnt pretend that slade is a good guy deep down, he is written like an asshole and does awful things throughout the entire book. because hes an asshole.

i dont like it when he works With the titans because. they should hate his ass!!! ESPECIALLY for what he did to terra. but he can be so good as a titans villain because hes a loser predator that routinely gets his ass kicked by teenagers that hate him on a personal level.

another reason hes interesting to me is because he genuinely DOES love the people in his life (derogatory). i hate it when people act like he hates his children because thats not true at all!! unfortunately he loves them so much but his version of love is abusing them and/or pushing them away. hes a terrible father and a terrible person but that doesnt mean he doesnt love his family. its just that his love is toxic and awful and him loving someone is always a bad thing

one (of many) thing that i hated about the movie deathstroke knights & dragons is that they tried to make him a good person. they treated it like his children were being irrational for hating him, his mercenary work was actually "noble" (he gave up a job because it came from a dictator; he would not fucking do that), and they even treated him cheating on adeline as "aw poor slade was so upset and he cheated on his wife because he was sad 🥺" and thats just. so boring to me. the reason he can be an interesting character is because hes such an awful person who does terrible things because hes selfish and doesnt care about other people, and even when he does care about other people hes doing it in a way that doesnt hurt him

thats also one of the reasons i HATED that one arc with respawn. i forget the name of it but it was the one crossover with batman & robin & deathstroke inc (<- this is driving me crazy what the fuck was it called.... it was the one where ra's died.... do u know what im talking about (EDIT: its Shadow War!! i forgor)) because suddenly slade was acting like he was a good father and that he loved his children and was acting Better than batman. which is so fucking stupid because hes a shithead and he knows it! but for some reason slade was like "im embracing my son i love being a family man ☺️ you wouldnt know what thats like would you batman ☺️" like since when do YOU know what thats like. at the very least he shouldve been pushing respawn away that entire time and it pisses me off that he was treated like the good guy in that story. and thats not even mentioning how bad rose's reaction pissed me off in this & dark crisis. williamson i am begging you to learn literally anything about the characters you write.

but going back to deathstroke 2016. that one is sooo good because christopher priest completely understands that slade is the worst. what i love about it is that he actually has "pure" motivations for a lot of the things he does (ie hiring a hitman on rose because he wants to spend time with her, stealing wallace's speedforce powers because he wants to save grant, etc) but it is very clear in the story that his motivations dont matter because hes doing a shitty thing! it doesnt matter that his intentions were good because he was hurting people on purpose!!!! he can try to be "good" all he wants but he is basically incapable of being good without hurting and/or manipulating someone. which is why hes such a compelling character to me. hes a shitty person with relatively good intentions. cool motive, still murder.

thats ALSO why i really like seeing him as a father (derogatory). because the shitty things he does are once again always well-intended but he fucks up his kids BAD. like just looking at his relationship with rose pre52, he pushes her away when he first meets her because hes afraid she'll be in danger if he brings her into his life. then he decides he DOES want her in his life so he hires someone to murder the people looking after her but lets her get her revenge on the person that killed her family. then he drugs her because hes a fucked up person that wants to keep her with him because shes the only family he has left (grant, adeline, wintergreen, and joey are all more or less dead at this point), then later after she leaves he fights her & joey (who is alive again) because he wants them to see that the titans to be a better family to them than he could be, THEN he fights them again because he wants them back in his life. its a back and forth of "i have to push them away to keep them safe" and "i have to go to extreme measures to keep them in my life"

hes a shitty father but hes a shitty father BECAUSE he loves his family. and he fucks them up because he doesnt know how to show them he loves them so he just makes it worse on purpose. he doesnt think that he can get any better so he pushes them away OR manipulates them and forces them to be close to him.

anyways. all this to say i find him interesting as a character BECAUSE he's unlikable and i dont trust anyone that actually likes him. if he was real i would throw rocks at him in the street because hes a piece of shit. but because hes not real i can enjoy his books as long as they dont shy away from the fact that hes a piece of shit

AAAGGGHHH I KNEW ELVES WERE ORIGINALLY FADE SPIRITS WHO TOOK ON PHYSICAL FORM!!!! i fucking called it dude im so hyped about this you dont understand, after years of speculation and it being called a crack theory the validation alone was worth the game's price tag

it makes SO much sense too. like why elves cant breed with other races?? because they dont have the same biology!!! why lyrium, the literal blood of the titans, is so closely connected with post-veil magic??? bc the og magic users used it to make their physical forms!!!

like obvs solas and the other gods are super far removed from modern elves. modern elves are just as 'biological' as other races at this point, hence why he's always going on about them not being 'his people' (kind of. when it suits him). but MAN, is it satisfying to have the theory i've held on for literal years be made canon. now all i need to for harding to supply some tasty dwarf lore and ill be eating GOOD by the time i finish this game

Do NOT read unless u have finished the game. Like the biggest surprises and plotpoints are laid out here. You would be ruining your experience playing the game if you read this.

Alright i think. I am ready to see the ending where I side with Maelle.

I have so many thoughts about her, so i guess I should see her ending... Well, Verso's ending was her good ending. No matter what, I think Verso will get a bad ending.

I really do love that final ultimatum. As the player, you really don't want to erase the canvas — but not for the reasons Maelle wants to save it. Unpainted Verso is gone, and holding onto his memory like this is destroying their family...

But the sentient beings of the canvas deserved better. The Dessendre's are a pantheon of chaotic and (to the inhabitants of the canvas) selfish gods going through a brutal powerstruggle in the power vacuum of a dead god. Are the Dessendre's so allmighty that their creations may simply be wiped away if it serves them? Or do gods have a duty to their creations?

I am also intrigued by how this ego may play out in the outside world — the Dessendres are clearly absurdly wealthy. What conflicts are playing out, and how does class fit into that? Does it? Are the Dessendres the kind if people who generally consider themselves above others?

Back to the game, I love the way Maelle shifts into something... else during act 3. She is a god — but a worldly god, and that is so much worse, because she has these personal connections to the canvas, as well as this existentially horrifying disconnect from it, and she chooses which of those identities suits her at any given time. When she gommages Painted Alicia, her expression is disconnected. It's different from the representations of shock and trauma in the game. She seems lofty. It's very different from the way Verso lets Gustave die. Verso experiences genuine remorse, and any calllousness comes from his being jaded and goal oriented. Maelle, on the other hand, ends a life with a single touch because she is a god.

I need to play her ending to see that side of her play out. She wants to make a moral choice (protect the canvas and the lives inside of it) for an immoral reason (not because those lives have intrinsic value, but because she wants to live in a fantasy — she wants to treat them as a fantasy to make her feel better and run away from her and her family's grief). I can't see that going well for anyone, not in the long run.

Anyway. Just such an interesting game. The layers beyond just a family dealing with grief really compel me, and I think they told the story in a really beautiful way.

I do have complaints about the combat system, though. I dont know how else they could have done it, because you kind of need turnbased combat to give the companions enough airtime... but maybe something more like dragon age combat would have been better? which still i think isnt a particularly great combat system, but I think it would have been better. idk. the fights were repetitive and they were more something to be gotten through for the sake of the story. I had a decent amount of fun with them, but nothing like BG3 or Elden ring or Hollow Knight. Obviously those are very unfair comparisons because those are like... THE combat games.

That said. It was okay combat. 6/10. I don't actively dislike it, it was just a letdown compared to the story — but I did actively dislike the way the game shows off those huge bossfight arenas that we don't get to actually engage with in the fight... I also hated the way the combat takes you out of the world, and completely disorients you when you finish the fight and you have no mini map (that's another thing. Im not gonna rely on a minimap Sandfall, i just have a shit sense of direction and i am never going to revisit an area if you don't let me map it the first time!!!!!).

Anyway. Phenomenal story. I am so, so,so compelled by the moral quandary posed at the end, and I love the way the story unfolds.

(o forget all the lore I digest, sorry if I am wrong😭🙏) maybe that day like she wanted to travel with him and tho ik that the ragbros wouldnt rlly blame reader for their parents death,reader blames herself because as a kid she saw her father die right in front of her eyes, OOH AND EVEN MORE ANGST if she got badly injured and crepus tried to protect her and obv it's norm for her to blame herself since if she find out abt her mom's death she might actually fall into more of self hatred.

OKY OKY SO I GOT TIS SCENARIO that kaeya or diluc took reader to crepus and their mother's grave and then reader just blankly looks ahead with a serious expression and says "brother, would it have been better if I was never born at all?" :( and then her brother just looks at her completely concerned and bewildered that such a child would think such things

diluc being fueled by the knights' betrayal to go off on his own and find his own answers, but her being too young to understand things like that, and feels guilty for both of their disappearances :(((

and she's left with kaeya, who at this point is the only family she has left, and wonders if things might've been different if she wasn't there, bc at least then in crepus's abscence the brothers would have their mother :(((((

in the three years diluc is away i can see her and kaeya growing increasingly reliant on each other. kaeya just "you're too young to understand, but i'm not really a good brother. i did bad things, that made diluc angry."

and she's just "???okay and??? that's okay, he'll forgive you?? i broke his favorite vase and he forgave me, it can't be much worse than that, right?" the childish innocence giving him the unconditional love he needed at that moment.

we know kaeya moved out to mond city once they fell apart, but where would she go? would kaeya take her with him, or would she stay at the winery with adelinde, and kaeya visit her every other day?

on one hand i feel like staying at the winery is a good option, because there are more resources and people there. like financially kaeya would be able to support her on his own, but i feel like he'd doubt his abilities to actually raise the kid. he was also quite young and going through his own dilemna after all.
