Knight Papyrus thoughts

Also a small thing I noticed on my playthrough that others might not have.

Check out everything involving @insanelyadd the true Papyrus fan.

Even though I think at this point Papyrus is being discounted as the knight, I still hope and think he will have some sort of relevance.

As of now, he's the only Undertale main character to not have significance in some way.

Toriel: The divorce, her tendency not to notice how unokay Kris is, how she was an ally for Susie, etc etc.

Sans: Keeps at least joking with us and is now homewrecking with Toriel.

Undyne: Got taken into the shelter and the police badge was on the code panel.

Alphys: Your teacher and knows something about the shelter to a degree.

Mettaton: Given Tenna and is trying to slowly find company.

Asgore: Divorced, has Carol on his back and is working as a cleaner for the Holiday Manor, oh and apparently has a FUCKING SHADOWCRYSTAL while he's trying to solve the mystery of what happened to Dess.

Out of every single one, Papyrus is absent from at least a small story point of notice. He's still inside his house, San's doesn't mention him at all this time, and when you peak into the skelebros house all you get is a description of what the house looks like with no mention of Papyrus at all.

I do greatly wonder what Toby is doing with him because for the turning point of the game, he is still completely absent and that is greatly conflicting.

Who knows, maybe we will only meet Papyrus at the end because Toby is doing whatever the fuck he wants at this point.

something extremely funny is that in both my original playthrough of Cassette Beasts AND in my recent replay I did to coincide with the Sunshine update the exact same sequence of events played out:

I got to a level 5 relationship with a female partner (Kayleigh in my original playthrough and Sunny in my replay) and elected to go with the romance route

Did not get to the chat where you officially enter a relationship with said partner yet (first playthrough because I initially thought all you had to do was get to level 5 and choose the romance option, replay because it hadn't occurred to me to do so)

Go to Brightside Pier since I have the DLC

Take a rest there at some point

Female partner immediately expresses interest in Gwen (Kayleigh is more obvious with her blush but Sunny. Sunny why are you biting your lip with the exact same expression you made when I told you my romantic feelings when you talk about how you hope that you and Gwen can be friends)

like honestly it's just funny at this point. "Ringmaster of Illusion" false. Ringmaster of Steal Your Girl. Egregore of Homewrecker. Lesbians of New Wirral want this clown so so badly (and like. honestly fair enough. not my type but if she asked I would not say no)

Her survivor's guilt is a big defining factor for her journey. Her father got executed when she was still pretty young, her brother got sick shortly after they escaped the Underdark, and after being welcomed into an Eilistraean refuge and trying to find some purpose out there, she fell into a pretty worrying, years-long depression.

Being alone still haunts her, as she feels like she can't be ‘good’ alone—if it wasn't for her father and brother, she wouldn't have a strong enough reason to leave the Underdark or the safety of her home, nor to unlearn any of the awful things she was taught. She's still discovering what she actually wants to do with her life, or who she really is outside of the older sister identity that she grew up on, all while in a place that is not entirely familiar to her. So now she has a deep-set fear of being alone again, and as a result she tries to mother hen around and make sure everyone is safe and happy enough that they won't think of leaving. Anyway, loser behavior.

re: set up choices

for ilitw mc, noah to be the ghost, have mc’s LI be connor, and keep ONLY dan alive, annihilate everyone else. be a homewrecker. encourage the noah/mc and the dan/mc romance (noah/mc is more painful than the second one so ultimately go for that one, but also encourage dan/mc)

for ilb mc, kill mc, have parker leave, and keep mc’s LI alive, but kill someone else.

for rowan, live out your sluttiest fantasies. romance EVERYONE as much as possible (you don’t need to choose any smut options, though! and, if you do, you can choose to fade to black <3), but especially flirt with matthias and with lincoln at the same time. go for an aggressive personality, avoid lore docs and special items (like when visiting the witches or the river death, courtesy from yours truly and my pride and joy). ruin your relationship with the others as much as possible, by choosing options that they obviously won’t like, making the wrong choices during combat or letting the timer run out so that you’ll die/get injured/let the characters get injured (e.g., don’t help abel when he gets attacked by the student)

i want to tell you more but i don’t want to give you spoilers! i think most of the angsty options will be pretty obvious, and will involve rowan being a jackass (see: connor letting them stay for free at his house and watching them encourage his S.O. of five years to leave him for a ghost)

I'm not even that sad (anymore) about not being able to gay-marry him, because it would be with Male Byleth, and Male Byleth's design is. not. great. or fun. it's There.

I do think, however, that there's comedic potential about a chain of supports where he gets around the fact that he likes guys (too? Only? Half the time? Who knows!).

ooh yes i'm very soft for Alois! i've never bestie-married him but i always recruit him because he's a nice presence to have around. i like how he's pretty self aware about being loud and not as funny as he tries to be, but he's still all smiles about it. classic kind of pathetic wife-guy <3 it would be very interesting to see supports with him and seteth where they're talking about very personal things, or ones between him and Edelgard where maybe she warms up to him being a sort of fatherly figure she never got to have?!

Gripes about fe3h... quite a popular one is that the Blions and Beagles don't fight TWSITD. Which I agree with. Out of all three houses, those two objectively deserve to fight them most. Then, I guess it's a little annoying to me that some of the best paralogues in the game require 2 recruits to unlock, for example Shamir and Alois, Leonie and Linhardt, recruits that you probably wouldn't usually go for together (of course, I do really like their pair ups, it's just that in order to get ALL the relics i need to recruit everyone every playthrough... which is doable when you're on ng++++ like me lol, and can just buy Byleth's skills, but....)

but to be honest, now that i've played several older fire emblem games? i definitely appreciate it a lot more. it's a much more casual game, relaxing to play, lovely graphics and music with a lot of character depth compared to early games. i really appreciate that Byleth (and all units, tbh) can effectively be any build. it's a highly replayable game and even though it's not perfect i do love it :)

hold up, actually? the worst part of fe3h is that m!Byleth is ugly and boring. it would almost totally ruin the game if f!Byleth didn't have that cute little head-empty-no-thoughts wide eyed stare.
