- Soda said Sling dislikes fast food, which is funny because in my mind BB and Skate absolutely inhale the stuff. Mostly because it’s cheap, but also because it’s all they ate growing up aside from scraps

- When they eat out together, Sling always drags them to actual diners and restaurants. He refuses to eat anything of less quality unless it’s for a dare. Though ofc knowing Skate is poor and can’t really afford these places, Sling usually pays for both himself and Skate. He’d pay for BB too but BB is adamant about paying for his own food

- Skate likes to use the occasions Sling pays to get the good and expensive stuff (nothing crazy, just enough to annoy at his upper middle class friend). Sling, while stingy about his money spending (despite his higher end tastes, and also his expensive shoe enjoyment….), just lets Skate abuse the opportunity because he likes feeding his friends good food

- Sling hates oil heavy food, it makes him want to throw up. Skate loves it. BB doesn’t entirely like it, but he’ll eat whatever you give him without complaint

- Sling and Skate are so cafe owner and scrappy delinquent trope to me, do you get the vibes. Meeting in front of the cafe where Skate’s taking shelter from the rain under the canopy, covered in cuts and bruises from an alley fight. Sling coming out to shoo him from the front because “he’s scaring off customers”. Then Sling brings him inside and feeds him the best food Skate’s had ever, and he sends him off once the rain clears up. And Skate’s been a regular ever since, and now they’re besties

- Skate has taught Sling and BB how to skateboard, like the basics at least. Sling doesn’t do it often because he hates how it wrecks his shoes. BB just prefers to rollerblade because it’s more dance friendly in his opinion

- Skate and BB are all for recreational drugs as long as they’re used responsibly. They’ve seen addiction at its worst in Playground, but they also know people who know how to keep themselves in check. (There’s a lot of drug education in Playground in my heart, though mainly taught by others with experience,,) Sling very much dislikes drugs because he grew up to see it as unclean. He’s slowly warming up to the concept of safe drug usage thanks to Skate and BB, but he’ll never do any (somewhat related side note: Vine has definitely tried at least a few plant based drugs, but she hides this fact from Sling because she knows he hates the stuff)

- Skate and Sling have gift giving as one of their love languages. Sling gives free extras of food to friends when they visit Thieves Rest, Skate gives friends random trinkets and rocks that remind him of them. BB on the other hand has acts of service, and will always try to find ways to help his friends

- Skate has zero clue that Sling is younger than him and BB. In fact, he thinks Sling is older than them both because he tends to seem the most mature out of the three. Sling and BB don’t know about this and assume Skate’s “old man” remarks towards Sling are just ironic jokes

- BB is actually the most mature out of the three, it’s just that he always tone matches with whoever he’s with, and being paired with Skate…. Yeah, you can see where that’s going

- All three always have bandaids on hand, mostly because Skate is a reckless dumbass, but also because BB and Sling tend to be the caretaker of their friend groups and they like to be prepared

- BB made a cute jingle for Thieves Rest upon Sling’s commission (I like to think it’s how they started to get to know each other,,, Pre-friendship, Sling overhearing that BB’s a musician, and wanting a little tune for people to associate with the cafe.). Sling loves it, but it’s now become a bit of an annoying inside joke thanks to Skate singing it whenever Sling slips into business mode during hang outs

- BB and Skate have known each other for a while now, growing up only a few blocks from each other in Playground. Sling had no idea about this, so it kind of frazzled him when he found out that one of the friendliest guys he knows and one of the biggest delinquents he knows are childhood friends

- If ever caught doing something stupid, Sling will immediately blame Skate, even if Skate is completely unrelated. Skate will alway either blame whoever else is with him at the moment, come up with a very stupid reason, or bluntly actually give the stupid reason. BB will never blame another, and always takes the blame even if it wasn’t his fault

- BB’s currently teaching Skate how to play guitar. Sling doesn’t have interest in learning since he’s already busy with the cafe, but he likes to sit in on their sessions and tease Skate when he’s free

- BB and Sling both know about Coil. Sling guessed Skate had a roommate because at some point Skate started buying double the portions than usual, and when he came over unprompted to drop off some free food to try and help Skate’s lower class wallet, Coil may or may not have been in the background when Skate answered the door. (Sling lowkey freaked out because that’s a whole ass highly wanted criminal, but calmed down after Skate explained it). BB found out while visiting (invited, unlike Sling), and Coil came out of the basement, not realizing Skate had a friend over. Since Skate was in his room getting ready to go out, he wasn’t there to stop Coil from thinking BB was a burglar and jumping the musician. But dw, Skate rushed down before anything got drastic, and BB and Coil are chill now

I’m still convinced Trazyn and Orikan were friends/close in some way during the flesh times but neither really remember, and I will explain why I think this is the case.

Orikan remembers that Trazyn was one of the people that dragged him to the furnace after being found hiding in the library, this leads me to assume that Trazyn knew he would be hidden there and snitched.

The reason I believe this is that it seems odd that Trazyn of all people was there to take him in, if they hate each other so much and Trazyn was on board with biotransference then one would assume he’d be happy to let Orikan live and die a mortal life, unless they didn’t hate each other at all. Furthermore Orikan says that he ‘lived among the stacks’ this implies that’s he managed to remain hidden for a decent amount of time, and I doubt that the dynasties would be happy to loose their best astromancer (catty as he may be) so if he’s seemingly disappeared who would be best to find him?

Someone close to him who knows where he’d flee to in a crisis, someone who he wouldn’t hide or run from if he saw them coming, a dear colleague perhaps? Trazyn was an archaeovist not a warrior, hardly someone who you’d send to arrest someone. Unless you needed someone to draw a target out.

Trazyn specifically having Orikans memories of the event is odd to say the least unless that is it’s a reflection of a guilty conscience, forgetting your close friendship and taking the memories of the event as your own is a good way to alleviate yourself of an eternity of guilt whilst still holding on to at least a little part of it. I also think Orikan did something similar at least to a degree. It’s well known that biotransference messed with a lot of necrons minds and I personally think how it messes with specific individuals was a subconscious way to protect themselves from the horrors of what they’ve become, sort of like a computer identifying something that may cause a system failure and flagging it up. Orikan was betrayed by his closest friend, an academic rival yes but still a friend, and as his soul is burned away and he’s turned into a necron his new mind identifies a possible cause of long term distress that would cause difficulties in performing his duties and gets rid of it like any good operating system would.

Orikan wakes up and has a great feeling of anger and memories of a rivalry but not memories of a friendship and assumes that’s the way it always was, likewise Trazyn has memories of a rivalry and some sort of regret that he can’t quite identify (note that he never once implied that Orikan was one of the people to drag him to the furnace) both of them know they know each other but only as rivals. I also think this is the reason Orikan seems so much more directly angry with Trazyn, Trazyn mostly has a much more fond approach to the situation often using affectionate terms even if sarcastically, he only ever reacts harshly when Orikan directly does something (ie breaking his pottery) or he’s being manipulated by a god. Orikan on the other hand seems to have anger be his default feeling towards Trazyn he always assumes the worst of Trazyn no matter what, which leads me to believe Trazyn was the inciting factor in all of this. I also think it’s rather telling that there doesn’t seem to be a reason for them to despise each other so, if there was a definite reason we would have seen one of them throw it in the others face by now but we don’t. I think this is because neither of them actually remember, all they know is that they’re rivals and a big part of eachothers life.

Anyway this is why I think Trazyn and Orikan used to be besties, thank you for coming to my TED talk.

I am back with another yap about my terms and conditions AU!! Somehow I ended up diving into the backstory of Recruiter and In-ho. Haha 😂😂

So what will happen in chapter 1? In-ho is surrounded by player files and they don’t have 456 players yet and they always have the same amount of players (maybe it was Il-nam’s favourite number, maybe that was just the amount of players for the first game and they stuck with it)

And he picks up the phone to call the Recruiter (Seok-woo, duh) ‘cause they’re besties and they have known each other for a long time. Like Seok-woo was a worker during In-ho’s games, then In-ho joined them the next year as the Front Man but he had to earn his position!! The plan was already in motion, but In-ho still had to work his way to the top while being trained by Il-nam. So they’ve known each other, they worked together and now they’re basically besties!! hehe 👀

So now In-ho is complaining to Seok-woo and reprimanding him for not getting enough players and Seok-woo just laughs and is like “bitch, you have no idea what it’s like interaction with these lowlifes up close!”

No scrap that! I am sitting in class and I’m bored… you’re getting a scene! The conversation will probably change and be even more bitch-y but that’s the first draft 👀:

The office was too quiet.

Stacks of player files cluttered the desk, the couch, the floor – an overwhelming wall of human misery in neat manila folders. Age, debt, addiction, failure. Hundreds of faces, all bleary-eyed and desperate. And yet, not enough of them.

In-ho rubbed his temple with the side of his hand, jaw tight.

They were short. The Games were set to start in six days and they only had 414 confirmed players. Every year, it had to be 456. Tradition, symbolism, balance – whatever reason Il-nam had whispered behind his grinning teeth, it had stuck. And now In-ho had a problem. A numbers problem.

He reached for the phone on his desk and hit speed dial, fingers drumming the desk as it rang.

“Pick up,” he muttered. “I swear to God, Seok-woo –”

After two rings, the line clicked.

“You miss me or something?” came the voice on the other end, smug and tired. “If this isn’t about my bonus, I’m hanging up.”

In-ho didn’t rise to the bait, he closed his eyes and took a deep breath. “You’re forty-two players short.”

“So dramatic. Just say hi like a normal person.”

In-ho’s eye twitched.

He could hear the smirk through the phone. He could also picture it – head tilted, lounging in his bed like he had nothing to do but run his mouth. He always looked like a delinquent who found a loophole in adulthood and dared anyone to stop him.

“You had a week. The Games start in six days. Why am I still forty-two short?”

“Because I’m not God, boss. I can’t just snap my fingers and create more dumbasses.”

In-ho took a slow breath. “You’ve had a week.”

“I know. I’ve been slapping desperate losers nonstop. One guy asked if the ddakji counted as foreplay.”

Silence.

“Which, frankly, was insulting. I put effort into my technique.”

In-ho stared at the wall like it might offer him peace. “Seok-woo. Focus.”

“That’s not my problem. I need full numbers.”

“Oh, I’m sorry,” Seok-woo snapped. “Would you like me to wring forty-two willing bodies out of thin air? Or would you prefer I go back in time and breed a more desperate generation of failures for your entertainment?”

A beat.

“Actually,” he added thoughtfully, “that could be fun.”

God help him. If In-ho strangled him now, Il-nam would make him train the next one… he pinched the bridge of his nose. “You’re the best recruiter we have.”

“Obviously.”

“Then act like it.”

“Oh, please.” Seok-woo’s voice sharpened. “You sit in your little tower watching through cameras while I’m out here convincing grown men to let me slap them in a subway. One of them tried to bite me yesterday.”

“You should’ve hit harder.”

“You should try doing this job with your own two hands before you start criticizing, Front Man.”

In-ho inhaled through his nose and exhaled through clenched teeth. A technique he learned from his therapist. Before he stopped going.

“In fact,” Seok-woo added sweetly, “go ahead. Go put on a nice suit, brush the dust off your people skills, and get on the subway. Let’s see how long you last before you stab someone. You have no idea what it’s like interacting with these lowlifes up close.”

In-ho stood. “Fine.”

“Wait, what.”

“You’re right. Clearly I need to remind myself how the real world smells.” He grabbed his coat, his case, and the custom ddakji tiles with the red stitching. “You’ve inspired me.”

“No. No, hyung, you don’t do fieldwork. You do scary phone calls and ominous corridors. You are not allowed to be hot and feral and hands-on. That’s my lane.”

“I’m going recruiting.”

“You’re going to traumatize some poor man and then fuck him just to win.”

In-ho’s fingers flexed around the receiver. He hated that he couldn’t tell if it was an insult or a dare.

Seok-woo paused.

“...Wait. Is this because I said he looked better in the suit than you? Be honest.”

In-ho hung up. He stepped into the elevator, already dialing security.

Outside, the city pulsed beneath the neon glow. Somewhere out there, forty-two miserable people were still choosing between starvation and survival.

from what dream said i didn’t get the impression he was trying to force us to like her at all. it was more him being like ‘hey so i’ve been dating this person for a while now’ and revealing things that he’s ready to now that he wasn’t before (like the songs being about her, of course he wasn’t going to say that before he revealed they were dating). and with the her being in content thing, she can absolutely just randomly show up in stuff whenever she feels like it without being considered a cc, even drista for instance (as i think dream mentioned) does that sometimes and she’s not considered a cc as it’s very casual and not done with the intent of her being the focus/her creating the content for/about herself mainly.

Sweat rolls down the side of Jungkook’s neck, soaking into the collar of his white cotton t-shirt. He tried to beat the heat by wearing light colors and thin five-inch inseam athletic shorts, but the weather seems out to get him regardless. The conditions aren’t ideal for moving into his new dormitory, but Jungkook is too excited to let a little sweat ruin the day. Even the heavy box straining his muscles as he carries it up two flights of stairs to his room can’t dampen the pep in his step. 

Stepping into the air-conditioned building feels good. The main hallway is stuffy and smells oddly like stale beer and burnt popcorn, but Jungkook’s dorm room smells clean and citrusy. Yoongi’s scent was the first thing Jungkook noticed about him. Scents are important to Jungkook, who has always been sensitive to smells.  

“Shit, Jungkook, you’re a lot stronger than you look,” Yoongi remarks with his eyes zeroed in on Jungkook’s biceps. It takes him a moment to get out of the way, sidestepping so Jungkook can squeeze through the front door of their dorm room. 

“There was this gym–” Jungkook grunts as he sets the box on top of a small stack of other cardboard boxes, “–that I used to train at back at my old college, doing kickboxing!” 

Yoongi shuffles around to stand on the opposite side of the boxes with his hands on his hips. Wearing an oversized black t-shirt and loose black basketball shorts, he looks adorably small. Although they’re both prey hybrids, there is something incredibly gentle about Jungkook’s new roommate. He’s got older brother vibes. They’ve only known each other for a few hours, but Jungkook already trusts Yoongi with his life. 

“They let prey hybrids kickbox with predators?” Yoongi’s feline eyes follow Jungkook’s movements as he starts unpacking. His long, orange tail swishes behind him with curiosity, and his cat ears occasionally flick. 

“No,” Jungkook twists around to scrunch his nose at Yoongi. What a silly question. “There weren’t any predators at our university. They weren’t allowed.” 

“Shit, I keep forgetting you said your old school was prey-only.” Yoongi whistles and shakes his shaggy black hair. “I can’t even imagine what that was like.”

“Growing up, all the schools I went to were prey-only. My neighborhood was only for prey hybrids, too. I guess I never thought about it much…”

Jungkook wants to tell Yoongi that being in such homogeneous spaces is boring, but he keeps the comment to himself as he works on unpacking. It would be weird to talk about it. He has already received slight comments from other students during new prey student orientation, most of them calling him privileged and sheltered for never having interacted with predators before. It’s a bit disheartening because Jungkook has been so excited to move to a new city and transfer to a new college. For months, he’s seen this as an opportunity to figure out himself – to live independently, away from his overly-protective parents, and have a real college experience. Independence is important to Jungkook, especially now that he’s attending a college of his choosing rather than staying at the one his parents picked for him – the safer one. 

With a drive to prove his parents wrong, Jungkook is determined to take care of himself. He’s twenty-one years old. It’s about time he got some freedom.

Besides, what does it matter that Jungkook has supposedly been sheltered from the world? Everyone knows there’s a social hierarchy, and hybrids like Jungkook certainly aren’t at the top. He can’t honestly blame his parents for wanting to protect him from an unequal society for as long as they could. Rabbits aren’t known for being well-respected, even amongst other prey hybrids. 

Luckily, Yoongi seems kind and accepting, even for a tabby cat hybrid. So Jungkook steers the conversation toward a more comfortable topic while he sets up his half of the bedroom. Their dorm is an upperclassman dorm with a small living room, kitchen, and private bathroom for the two of them to share. They also have to share a bedroom, but Jungkook doesn’t mind. 

Yoongi’s half of the room is tidy. His slate grey comforter is oversized and fluffy, neatly tucked in at the sides of the bed. His laptop sits open on his desk, quietly playing a lo-fi playlist in the background. If the minimalism of Yoongi’s half of the room is indicative of the kind of roommate he’ll be, Jungkook doesn’t have any concerns about living with Yoongi. 

“Do you need any help?” Yoongi hovers at Jungkook’s side. “I feel bad; I didn’t even do anything.” 

“No, no, it’s okay! It really wasn’t much.” 

Jungkook is nearly finished organizing his laundry in his closet, sorting the clothing first by season and then by color. He waves off Yoongi’s concern, suddenly feeling shy. 

“Are you sure?” 

Jungkook nods hard enough that his fuzzy black bunny ears sway with his hair. “I’ve got some decorations I want to put up, but that might be a whole process, so I’ll deal with it later.” Turning around, he gives Yoongi a shy smile and brushes his sweaty bangs off his forehead. “But, maybe after I take a shower, you could show me around? I never got a chance to tour campus.”

Yoongi makes a strange sound, something in between a hiss and a scoff. “They didn’t show you around campus during new student orientation? Ridiculous. The predators get a whole fucking ceremony, and what do we get?” 

“A free water bottle,” Jungkook pipes in, shaking the cheap plastic bottle at Yoongi. 

“Ridiculous!” Yoongi eyes the water bottle as if it has personally offended him. “Go get ready. I’ll show you everything you need to know.”

Still grumbling, Yoongi meanders into the living room. Jungkook watches him plop onto the couch with a scowl and tries to hold in his giggles. Despite a somewhat shakey start to the day, Jungkook feels good about his transfer decision. He ended up with an awesome roommate in a decent dorm. He already logged into his online student portal to view his class schedule and got all the classes he wanted as a junior computer science major. What more could a guy want?

Jungkook's stomach rumbles as he grabs clean clothes that are a replica of what he's already wearing and realizes the thing that would make this day better is probably ramen or fried chicken. Or both. Definitely both. He's pretty confident that Yoongi will know somewhere good to eat on campus or in the surrounding neighborhood. 

Hunger makes Jungkook fly through showering. Rubbing his head with a towel to quickly sop up his wet hair and ears, Jungkook slams his elbow into the wall. The yelp torn from his chest is rather unbecoming, and the clatter of his toiletries bag exploding onto the floor doesn't help.

"Are you okay, Jungkook-ah?" Yoongi calls from the living room, further embarrassing Jungkook without meaning to.

"Yeah, hyung! I'm okay!"

Jungkook must also mention how cutely the two men engage with each other, with Yoongi speaking to him in diminutives and letting Jungkook call him hyung already. What was Jungkook's parents' fuss about attending a large university? So far, Jungkook is loving it. 

In his excitement, Jungkook doesn't bother organizing his toiletries and hopes Yoongi is okay with the temporary mess, making a mental note to work on the bathroom next when he gets home. For now, a tour and food are his top priorities. Socializing and moving all day can make a person ravenous. 

"Okay, I'm done. Can we eat?"

"Shit, kid, yeah, we can eat," Yoongi grunts after being jostled around when Jungkook practically launches himself onto the couch. "What kind of food do you like? Salad?"

"That is not funny." Jungkook's pout earns him a hearty chuckle deep inside Yoongi's chest. "I like meat."

Yoongi snorts. "Good to know, kid. Let's get outta here."

The university campus is relatively large, but Jungkook quickly discovers that half of it is off-limits to him, much to his surprise. He'd been under the assumption that, as a university that serves all hybrids, the entire campus would be open to everyone. The thing is, Jungkook still has to learn about inhabiting a world with predator hybrids - and Yoongi is determined to teach him. 

"So, the east half of campus is the predator side. All their dorms are over there, along with their gym and dining hall," Yoongi gestures down the sidewalk where the path goes through an archway between the stone walls that border the east side of campus. "Super gothic architecture and shit. It's because they're pretentious. Our side of campus is more modern because we're ahead of the times."

Yoongi continues rambling about the differences between the two halves of campus and how the library is the only genuinely coed space as he travels down the sidewalk in the opposite direction. Still, Jungkook finds himself staring past the stone archway.

A group of predator hybrids crosses through the archway, their voices echoing against the stone walls as they pass. They're boisterous and animated as they talk, occasionally all bursting into laughter when one of them says something. Jungkook has good hearing but is too caught up in watching the group to pay attention to what they're saying. 

"Jungkook-ah, come on. Aren't you hungry?" Yoongi gripes, suddenly at Jungkook's side again. "Close your mouth, aish. You act like you've never seen a predator hybrid before." 

"I haven't..."

"What?" Yoongi looks at him incredulously. 

"I've never seen a predator before. Well, not in real life." 

The group heads down the same sidewalk Jungkook and Yoongi stand on, slowly approaching the pair. Jungkook can't take his eyes off of them. There are four of them of various species, but one in particular steals Jungkook's attention. He's taller than the other three, with broad shoulders and long legs. Despite the chiseled look of his high cheekbones and sharp jawline, there's something boyish about how he laughs with a box-shaped mouth and how the breeze ruffles the unruly mess of coppery curls resting atop his head.

Always attentive to scents, Jungkook takes a deep breath of petrichor as the breeze carries the hybrid's scent to him - the deep, earthy smell of fresh rain falling on parched soil. There's something strangely nostalgic about the scent. It envelopes Jungkook, wrapping him in a comforting blanket that feels like childhood memories of playing in the creek that runs along the edge of the forest behind his neighborhood. 

Jungkook opens his eyes, not having realized he'd ever closed them. When he does, he finds a pair of sharp, feline eyes staring back at him. They're critical, deftly slicing into every inch of Jungkook's soul because he can't look away. 

"Hello," the hybrid greets with a deceivingly soft voice.

Jungkook has heard horror stories about predator hybrids all his life, and today, he thinks he finally understands. The hybrid is mere inches from Jungkook, close enough that he could easily snatch him up. How had he gotten so close? Jungkook feels as though he blinked, and suddenly, the other hybrid was there, having quietly crept up on him. It's Jungkook's overactive imagination, considering he quite literally watched the group approach him, but he's still intrigued.

The hybrid stands with an air of nonchalance, but Jungkook isn't stupid. He may not have any experience with predators, but he can sense the power in this one, even if his outward demeanor is relaxed. Jungkook's instincts are speaking to him.

This hybrid is dangerous.

When the breeze ruffles his hair again, Jungkook notices the pair of striped ears poking out from between his curls. If he'd been paying attention earlier, he would have noticed the striped tail, too, but he is too busy admiring the tiger's asymmetrical eyes and the little beauty mark artfully placed along his waterline. 

"H-h-hi-" 

"Sorry, he's new here," Yoongi interrupts and grabs Jungkook's wrist, pulling him to one side of the walkway to allow the group to walk past them.

"Oh really? I could show him around," one of the other predators says with a snicker. He licks his lips as he looks over Jungkook's body, but Jungkook misses it because he's still locking eyes with the tiger hybrid. 

"Yeah, show him around a knot," another says with a snort and reaches up to high-five the fourth predator, who throws his head back and starts howling. Or maybe laughing - Jungkook isn't sure. Whatever the sound, it stops abruptly when the tiger hybrid raises his hand. 

"Shut up," he says, glaring at the other three sharply. "You're acting like animals." 

The tiger's gaze slides back to Jungkook. He knows his usual floral scent is spiking with anxiety, but it isn't because he's afraid of the men in front of him. If anything, he's exceptionally curious and afraid of looking like an idiot by doing the wrong thing. Not that he's doing anything aside from standing with an awed look on his face. 

"Jungkook," Yoongi hisses and yanks on his wrist harder than the first time. "Ramen. Fried chicken. Let's go." 

Reluctantly, Jungkook lets Yoongi drag him away from the group of predators who have now started up again with their obnoxious laughter, though this time Jungkook is sure that he's the butt of whatever jokes they're telling. It makes his face feel hot, but he mostly can't stop thinking about how pretty that tiger hybrid was. From what Jungkook was taught as a child, predator hybrids are big and scary - which is undoubtedly true of the predator hybrids he just met. But the tiger hybrid had a certain aura to him that Jungkook can't quite name. 

"You're ridiculous," Yoongi grumbles his favorite word. "Stuttering and ogling like that. They're gonna eat you alive and pick at your bones if you're not careful." 

Once they're a decent distance from the group of predators, Yoongi slows down his speedwalking to a casual saunter toward the prey dining hall. Maybe Jungkook should be a little bit more concerned about what Yoongi means, but instead he asks, 

"What's a knot?" 

Yoongi nearly chokes on his next inhale. 

"I'm not gonna be the one to tell you that," Yoongi sputters, "You can fucking look it up. Wait! Just not right now! Oh god." 

With a furrowed brow, Jungkook slides his phone back into his pocket. All he wanted to do was understand the joke. He supposes he'll just have to look it up later like Yoongi said. 

"Do you know him?" Jungkook finally asks. 

"Who?" Yoongi gives Jungkook a suspicious look, but Jungkook's head is floating in the handful of clouds barely working to give them much needed reprieve from the sun.

"The pretty one," he sighs, "The tiger hybrid." 

Rolling his eyes, Yoongi opens the door to the dining hall. It's fairly crowded since they're nearing the lunch hour. Jungkook sticks close to Yoongi's side to avoid getting lost or doing something incorrectly. 

"Don't even go there, kid," Yoongi says with a shake of his head. "There's a reason we're on this side of campus, and they're on the other." 

Jungkook looks around at the other prey hybrids in their dining hall and doesn't find anyone as interesting as the tall boy with coppery curls and dangerous eyes.

Locklyle: 9/10. VERY Anne and Gilbert. One of them has terrible self esteem and the other is completely gone for her while also being conventionally attractive and good at (insert sport here). Both argue a healthy amount and love blurring the line between dating and being besties. Also, both couples pledge undying loyalty to one another before kissing.

Quiglet: 5/10. They get along too quick to be truly Anne and Gilbert. But they are both very intelligent and attracted to that in one another.

Caleo: 7.5/10. First off, they look like them. Second, they had an enemies to lovers thing, but they were enemies for stupid reasons. Third, there’s name calling, and lastly it takes one of them being at death’s doorstep for them to get together. HOWEVER, they aren’t that Anne and Gilbert because it’s unclear if they’ll be endgame, while that was always in the cards for Shirbert.

I think I truly adore your Caleb and non-MC more than anything.

They have this… balanced dynamic almost. She calls him out on his bullshit, and I just know she doesn’t let it fly when he makes assumptions on her behalf. And judging by the way you wrote them, I don’t think he’d even think of assuming or thinking he knows her like the back of his hand.

They’ve known each other since I’m guessing… college(?) or senior year of high school(?) and they share a rather… grown up space with one another. She seems like she always keeps him guessing and curious. And he wouldn’t dare put her in a box or take initiative for her.

With her, from what I got from your short series, was that he sort of can never predict what she’s thinking or what she’ll do. So he just… sits and watches. And it forces him to communicate even the most secretive aspects of his life because he can’t not know what she thinks of him. Where with MC he assumes everything because they grew up as childhood besties, with your OC? It gives me the vibe of a man in a constant state of intrigue and curiosity.

She’s home for him. And she’s familiar. And they’re very very close. But the intrigue in their relationship seems to live on, because she doesn’t allow him to fall into the headspace of a caretaker with her.

And in a way, it feels like that’s exactly what Caleb needs. Someone who breaks this need of his to always be the one in control. To always be the protector. To always know what’s best.

With her, he can actually accept that he knows nothing, and the beauty of it is that the acceptance comes with a desire to want to find out. He gives her space to prove him wrong, and while he stays steadfast in his own feelings, he doesn’t seem to diminish hers either.

Perhaps I’m adding too much to your characters, idk 😂 But this is the impression I got.

You could see through the first two parts vs the third, that Caleb is a different person. He’s less… insecure, despite the tension. He’s persistent, but not in a way that encroaches on her decision to stay away. He takes as much as she gives, and then gives some of himself back, hoping she’ll take it. And she does! abd then he simply… finally communicates things the old him would’ve kept hidden.

It felt like he’d already subconsciously made the decision that there was something there, even if he wasn’t fully sure of himself yet. And he showed growth in finally shedding his past self and wanting to start anew. To not just rekindle, but to reform his relationship. To finally give it the respect and honour it deserved from the beginning.

I think you did a great job in tackling someone who was pining after another person for so long finally snapping out of it and finding it in themselves to let go of the deep… emotional history. And focus on how they presently feel. You don’t go looking for a friend for months, you go looking for someone who you realise was much much more valuable to you than you ever thought.

And those two years in between felt like they were much needed to allow her to get over the hurt, and for him to discern if what he felt was love or loneliness. And you can tell he’s made a choice but still grappling with it, until the conversation at the beach. And then when she confirmed she was in Skyhaven, he got more and more convinced that it wasn’t loneliness.

And then the kiss… rather than it being the defining moment, it was cementing instead. He was convinced he did love her. But the kiss just cemented that feeling further in his heart and gave him the courage to be able to actually say it back to her. Because to me it felt like he wasn’t outright saying it because he didn’t think he deserved to. Because the last time he did, he was being selfish. He didn’t want to be selfish this time. But that tender moment of closeness after realising she wanted to find him again the way he was looking for her—that’s what did it.

And despite the ambiguity, it made me realise this was now a man confident and self assured in his feelings. And he would take his time to reach out slowly, to prove his affection. And because of the confidence in himself, I imagine he’d be less frantic and possessive too.

Tldr; I think you wrote the beginnings of a very healthy Caleb who went to therapy and worked on himself hahaha

moving onto your message, thank you for noticing how i characterized our protagonist! it was lowkey but i wanted our protagonist to yearn but at the same time make it known that she can live without him. she is her own person. whether or not caleb likes her back, i want her to heal from what she thought was unrequited love by choosing herself. and thank you so much for adding your own take to the characterization! i was honestly afraid that caleb was a little ooc and i couldnt grasp his whole personality. but i wanted to play around with his character by having them chase and tiptoe around each other. also, i'd like to think they met the very first day in college! that's why they were so attached to each other because they spent the entire four years of their lives together.

and YES. caleb in the first and second part was a little... unpleasant? for the lack of better term. especially the second one. he was selfish and blamed our protagonist for it, when the protagonist only wanted some space to heal.

thank you again for noticing how i tackled pining after someone and finally snapping out of it :) i think we need to realize that loving someone and getting over it, especially when the feelings weren't reciprocated, and ESPECIALLY that they were good friends, takes a long amount of time. it takes a whole lot of strength to pull yourself out of that guilt and grief. and sometimes, when you're finally okay, you realize that the world isn't ending when you two broke off! you will eventually find your way back to your friend in the end :)

and yes, two years in between may seem like a long time but it's enough for our protagonist and caleb to figure out what the hell they wanted with each other and what they felt.

and thank you also for thinking that the kiss cemented everything for the two of them :) it wasn't outright expressed but it was there :) again, the ambiguity of the ending was for everyone's interpretation! though i intentionally left it like that because obviously caleb will take his friend back and even more! BUT it can't be done overnight :") that's why i chose an open ending. you can't just waltz in someone's life and claim back what's used to be yours again. and i'd like to think caleb knows that :)

Hello! A few days ago I was thinking about yoonmin (as I often do hehehe) and I started thinking about jimin and his gender. Now, I'm not sure if he identifies as anything other than male, but it's safe to say that he has struggled with masculinity and toxic expectations when he was younger. There have been some instances in the last few years were there have been some non-bn references, the first ones that come to mind are the fotoshoot with the bigender symbol and taemin's words on suchwita (“jimin also has that gender-neutral charm and also delicate”).

What I wanted to ask you is how do you think gender has impacted yoonmin?

I don't know if you've ever received an anon about this topic but I was curious about your opinion 😅

Personally, I think Jimin struggled a lot in his early years since he felt the pressure to fullfil this assigned strong masculine roll within the group (when they made him lift his shirt and do things like that). From what he's said in interviews, he later learned to accept himself and I can only think about how reassuring it must have been to have someone as accepting and supportive as yoongi by his side. I feel like yoongi is the kind of person who would encourage him to freely explore his gender (his bestie Halsey uses she/they pronouns by the way) and especially through his art (when face came out some ppl interpreted as Jimin talking about his gender and I found it very interesting).

Anyways, I feel like I'm just rambling haha. To sum up we don't know if he's 100% non-bn, he may still identify as a cis man, but still it's safe to say that he has been exploring his gender in the past.

(We'll probably never get a confirmation if he's actually non-bn, unless things in Korea change A LOT.)

Hi anon! Your question about gender in terms of yoonmin is a good one and something I have wondered about too!

First of all, I agree with you regarding Jimin and his relationship with gender. We’ve gotten many clues (and what I would consider more than clues) about this.

In regards to yoonmin as a pair, one thing I’ve noticed are the types of words Yoongi uses to describe Jimin. Yes, he’s called him handsome. But he’s also used gender-neutral or even traditionally feminine adjectives to describe him: “sexy,” “pretty,” “small and cute.” I think he does this because he knows these are the type of words that Jimin enjoys. Typically, when someone gives a compliment, their words are tailored to fit the person they are complimenting.

Another example: when Yoongi quoted the k-drama line to Jimin backstage in Newark, he quoted the male character’s line thus placing Jimin in the female role in that scenario.

(Likewise, Yoongi seems to be perfectly fine with Jimin referring to him as “cute” and “baby,” which to me shows a level of open mindedness that, unfortunately, many men lack.)

They’re both smart people and they’ve been in the entertainment industry long enough to know how fans analyze things. So, even if the female lead in the Like Crazy choreo isn’t Jimin’s reflection (although I believe she is), he at least would have known that some people would interpret that way…and he was fine with that. Similarly, by now Yoongi knows what many fans think of his Cypher 3 verse. Yet years later, he included that verse, unchanged, in his D-Day set list.

I’m rambling now, but my point is they have both demonstrated an accepting/progressive attitude toward these issues and have not attempted to “set the record straight” when it comes to gender (or sexual orientation, for that matter).

Obviously, Yoongi and Jimin are individuals and each of them has their own unique feelings about gender. We can see differences in terms of how they present themselves. But I do see commonalities in terms of their way of thinking, their acceptance of themselves and their acceptance of others. I hope that makes sense!

Here’s Jimin playing with the idea of gender roles and putting himself in the feminine role: shocked that he’s been caught shirtless, while he places the viewer, who is likely to be female given Army’s demographics, in the role of the voyeur (typically thought of as the masculine role). He seems to love doing this, turning the tables and offering unexpected and non-traditional portrayals of gender roles.

In Yoongi’s case, I understand that these are not examples related to gender specifically. I see these as clues to his world view and his inclusivity, and of course I’m sure he extends that way of thinking to Jimin.

So as much fun as it is to have Pedro, Chris, and Dakota all together in one room, it’s also really nice to see them separately with Dakota at the helm.

With Pedro, it’s clear they are besties and they know each other the way besties do. I also think that’s why the reviews of them not having that romantic or sexual chemistry makes so much sense now. Because at first hand. You’re like wait what do you mean, they vibe so well of course they have chemistry. But friend chemistry is not the same as romantic. So now I feel Celine’s casting was intentional.

With Chris, he and Dakota have a completely different vibe. They haven’t known each other as long, obviously, but the energy they’ve been giving when they’re by themselves shall I say, is giving married couple. I know that won’t make much sense to most people, but it’s not old married couple. It’s married couple.

It’s a totally different chemistry and I think that’s why it works so well here.

Meanwhile, Pedro and Chris have very fun chemistry despite not being able to be alone by themselves, but I don’t think the film wants to make them enemies like Jack and Cal in titanic. In past lives, the dudes don’t hate each other either. Thus the throuple comments, which tbh, would be very a24 of them to do if it was that kind of movie.

I think this was really good casting and I’m glad things worked out the way they did.

I can't take all the credit, I do have people that help me find the content. But it can be exhausting. I'll be glad when it all slows down. But I am excited to see Chris with Rhubarb! I have been waiting for that one for so long, but didn't want to say who it was the was interviewing them 😂

But I am gathering what you're saying, and it does make so much more sense. And in what reviews I've seen people are commenting on Dakota's chemistry with Pedro vs. Chris. It is a bit stiffer. Which I do think the point is that Harry is perfect on paper for Lucy, but John is perfect for her soul.

Daniel Jackson & Why Stargate SG-1 is the Best Show in the World

Here we go again. Listen, my obsession with this show knows no bounds and I’m going to simply have to take you through my thoughts on every character. 

Strap in. It gets long.

Daniel Jackson. Linguist and ancient aliens believer (Daniel. It really is your worst quality. Even worse that YOU WERE RIGHT HOLY MOLY) and he figured out how to dial the Stargate and get it to work. A character known for his intelligence and empathy, his moral compass and being petty as fuck. A man who pushes those around him to be better people, and to think outside of themselves. Also he has allergies which plays into a very cute intro to his character in the show where Jack literally tosses a tissue box into the Stargate to make contact with Jackson. Let’s get into it. 

We open season one with the SGC traveling back to Abydos where they left Daniel Jackson in the og movie after disaster struck (that disaster you may ask??? ….. I have no clue I haven’t watched it yet BUT I DIGRESS). There’s a problem. Aliens came through the Stargate and took one of their own. They need to talk to Daniel, to the Abydonians, and what follows is unfortunate. 

You see, they defeated Ra in the movie, a parasite pretending to be a god, and thought they were done with this villain. Unfortunately they’re facing a new one, same shit different name: Apophis - brother of Ra. And it turns out they aren’t finished with stealing and enslaving people. Now, the genre of villain they’re against is swift, cunning, technologically advanced, and ruthless. The Goa’uld. They attack Abydos and take a young boy named Skaara and Sha’re, Daniel’s wife, captive along with the SG team member. 

Ugh. Sha’re. Daniel is so sweet to her. They’re so clearly in love. Daniel Jackson has my favorite quality in a man which is that one of his primary personality traits is that he loves his wife. Ugh. It kills me that the Goa’uld took her away and he spends the next few years desperately tracking her down. The Goa’uld end up possessing both Sha’re and Skaara and it leads to Daniel Jackson rejoining the SGC and joining Jack O’Neill and Sam in SG-1. 

It’s important to note a few things about Daniel here that inform me about why he is the way that he is. He was orphaned as a child, he lost his wife whom he loved very much, and he is extremely empathetic. He basically imprints on every being he comes across that doesn’t have a family and that kills me. He’s desperate for connection and he tries to understand the motives and meaning behind everything. He cares about people. He cares about culture. He cares about respecting things you don’t understand. 

While we’re on the subject of imprinting, let's talk about Daniel and his friendships. We’ll start with Sam and Daniel. True science besties. I love every interaction between these two. It's like they found their platonic soulmate that they’ve spent their lives looking for. They info dump with each other, bask in each other’s intelligence and value it even when they have zero clue what the other is on about. Their friendship is pure and quick and beautiful and I can’t talk about Daniel without touching on how he quickly latches onto his friends and makes them important and how it makes his life fuller to have them. He does the same with Jack. They clearly care deeply for each other and Daniel finds a safe space in Jack. A space where he can push and be angry and ask questions and share how he feels and never receive rejection from Jack. Yes, they fight and argue and disagree but it is (typically) a safe disagreement where they’ll mend anything they hurt. Then there’s Teal’c. Teal’c, the man who is… kind of responsible for taking Sha’re from him. A man that Daniel wants to hate but can’t. Because Teal’c is a changed man. A man who had little choice. A man who Daniel has come to recognize as a friend and ally. This. This is big for Daniel. 

Imagine. Your wife is taken from you. The man responsible for choosing her to take is now saying he is going to help you defeat your enemies. He lives on earth with you. He is treated as an honorable man and warrior. He is part of your team. Your everyday life. And you forgive him. You forgive because it’s the right thing. You forgive because you know it’s not his fault. You forgive because your heart is big enough to do so. To not assign blame where it’s unfair. That is Daniel Jackson. That is who he is. And fuck do I admire this in him. If it were my partner taken, life stolen from them, parasites taken over their body and using them to harm people. If I had to look at the man who chose her every day I might not be so forgiving. I might not have it in me to see a difference. This quality is something I admire because it is something that would be excruciating for me. 

Speaking of excruciating things: watching Daniel’s face when someone he loves is in danger is like getting stabbed through the heart. One of the moments that sticks out in my mind is when Jack and Teal’c are trapped on a submarine that is being overrun by Replicators. Their only hope at not letting these bastards take over the earth is to blow it up, with both of them on it. Jack tells them to prepare to do it and Daniel is immediately against it. Jack takes his helmet off so he can hold the camera up so Daniel can see his face, can talk directly to him, and tells him to do it. When Daniel, in desperation, pushes again Jack reiterates that he does not want to die by the replicators. He doesn’t want his life to be over that way. Daniel has to let him and Teal’c go. Daniel eventually gives in but he refuses to look away while two of his friends die. (Spoiler alert is that they get saved at the last minute, thank fuck.) 

We watch this despair each and every time one of his loved ones is in danger. We watch his expression, his heartbreak, his feelings of powerlessness. He’s desperately done everything he can to keep them safe. Daniel is not a soldier. He is an academic. He doesn’t have the training that the rest of them do. He hasn’t been taught how to handle battlefields and death and loss like they have. Watching his friends get hurt or die is so devastating for him. They are his family. Losing them is like losing everything he has left, especially since losing Sha’re and leaving everyone on Abydos. His heart holds all of them so dear. 

We know he values his friendships, but what about the times he makes friends with beings from other planets? One of my favorite times is with an Unas who kidnaps him to sacrifice him. Now, Daniel spends a lot of time trying to communicate with this Unas. He shares food with him, talks, they play games. All while he’s being dragged through the wilderness to be slaughtered. He starts to understand the Unas, to learn that he has a connection with this one. Eventually this connection is what saves him in the end. Daniel even goes on a rescue mission to save this Unas when he gets captured in a later season. 

Then we have Reese. Oh, Reese. I liked her. She was an android responsible for creating the Replicators, a dangerous villain in later seasons of SG-1. Daniel spends time bonding with her, learning about her, and figuring out why she made the Replicators. She was lonely. She spent her life being told she was ‘made wrong’ and that she needed to be ‘fixed’. She was sad and emotionally uncontrolled. I’m about to be annoying about this but this is why Daniel bonds so well with her. She was lonely. She wanted friends. She wanted kinship. Daniel so desperately wants these things. He’s so lonely, has been since childhood. He sees himself in her. And when she dies he’s heartbroken. It’s the first time you hear him cuss at Jack, a line that will live in my head forever: You stupid son of a bitch. Now, Jack isn’t stupid. Daniel knows this. Daniel is angry. But Jack was just trying to protect him, doing the thing he does to show his love, and it was rejected. This moment stings. It stings because of the context. It stings because of when it happens. It stings because of what happens only a few episodes later. 

Daniel dies. Daniel dies because of his empathy and action. He dies protecting people. He dies. And it’s heartbreaking. Watching everyone say goodbye to him is one of the most tear-inducing moments so far. (I cried for… a long time.) Teal’c honors him in a way culturally significant to him with tears in his eyes. A man that is usually stoic and a strong silent type letting himself mourn a friend he’s grown to love. Sam cries and reminds him that she loves him and she wishes she could do more for him. He can’t even respond to her at that point but she sits with him and takes in what little time they have left. And Jack, well, he makes a joke. He tries to be serious about it but it’s too uncomfortably close to talking outright about his feelings so he makes some joke about how Daniel has been a pain in his ass for five years and despite all of that he has grown to admire the man that Daniel has become. It’s so painfully Jack O’Neill that it’s charming and gets Daniel to smile. (CAVEAT Daniel is not like… dead dead… I’ve been informed that he returns and my sadness over it is only temporary since the character will be back soon… and yet I still cried for over an hour over him.) 

The worst part is that there is a chance for him to be saved. But he stops them so he can ‘ascend’ and ‘do more’. And how does he stop them? Well, he talks to the one person he knows will respect his decision, the one person he knows will let him go, the one person he knows he can trust to have the responsibility to take care of it. Jack. He tells Jack to let him go, to make them stop, to let Daniel move on. And Jack, despondent and unhappy as he is to do it, does. It is horrible to watch. Daniel standing in front of Jack, crying, telling him he’ll miss everyone while Jack says ‘yeah. Me too.’ and lets Daniel go. Ugh. It kills me. He says at some point during the episode that his life is worth no more than anyone else’s. That he hasn’t done much. He’s not done enough to help. Oh boy. He’s so wrong. He’s so unbelievably wrong it hurts. He’s an idiot. Not enough? Daniel, sweetie, you’ve given your life to this. You’ve saved civilizations, saved earth, saved Skaara, what more do you need to know that you have done miraculous things? His low self esteem hurts me here. He doesn’t believe he’s done good, that he is good. How does a man who has given his life to this cause think so little of himself? Well, I think it stems back to his parents. 

Goodness. I believe his parents loved him more than the moon and all the stars. I believe they raised that boy with attention and affection and love and care and it is a damn shame that they died. It’s a damn shame they died at the same time. It’s bullshit that Daniel watched it. He watched both of his parents die when he was around 10-12 years old. He became an orphan in an instant. He went from two loving parents to the foster system in seconds. Now, he didn’t have to go to the system. He had a grandfather that could have adopted him but the man didn’t. He had a career more important than Daniel. I wouldn’t make the same choice if it were me. Hell, this little baby lost everything in a day and he needed someone. He needed love. He needed a home that was familiar. And instead of taking on the responsibility, instead of working through his anger and helping him cope you left him. My sympathies lie with Daniel here because I love him so deeply so I get angry when I think about little Daniel having a family member that could take him and instead being given up because of… what? A career? Some things are more important. (Sidenote that I am not condemning people for prioritizing themselves instead of having children… I am not ever going to have children and that is completely of my own free will and choice and wants and needs. What I am saying is that Daniel’s grandfather chose to leave him for the sake of himself and I think this rejection is where Daniel’s low self esteem comes from.)

His grandfather’s rejection is the start in a long line of rejections. Rejection from his peers, rejection from superiors, rejection from society. He finally finds somewhere he feels he belongs (Abydos) and that is gone too. In the blink of an eye. He thinks he isn’t good enough. And I think that blows. (Another side note that I think Daniel has at least ADHD if not also Autism and since I have both of those things I get really fiery about Daniel so… I’M BIASED OKAY.) He spends the rest of his life searching for connection, community, love. Hell, he even tries to infodump to Jack in episode one and faces yet another rejection of his skills and interests and I can’t help but feel like that hurts. Now, Jack does this song and dance often throughout the show with Daniel but it starts to feel more like they’re purposefully winding each other up and not like Jack is trying to hurt him. But… a different post for a different day. 

Now, I won’t lie. I am super drawn to characters like this. I had a huge crush on Milo from Atlantis as a kid and Daniel is very very close to that character in a lot of ways. The floppy hair, the glasses, the nerdiness, the excitable way he talks. So… I’m a little biased… but this character… this character rules. He’s sweet and kind and sometimes so petty it makes me laugh. He’s funny and charming and GOSH I JUST LOVE HIM OKAY. HE’S STUPID CUTE IT MAKES ME MAD. But. He has flaws. Flaws that make me like him even more but flaws nonetheless. He can be one track minded. He takes things into his own hands and puts himself in danger and puts his team in uncomfortable positions because of it. He lets his emotions get the better of him. He compartmentalizes by throwing his all into things like working and solving something. He’s a great man. But he’s confused and scared and has such low self-esteem it hurts. 

His flaws are on full display when he puts himself in immediate danger to stop Jack from destroying a ship that is about to wipe out a civilization that they helped get a new home for. Daniel has talked to this person, knows that he can prevent two civilizations from being destroyed, but Jack is focused on helping the one they’ve already connected with. Daniel disobeys Jack’s order. He puts himself in the path of an explosive in order to convince the other person to cease unintentionally destroying the planet in order to find another solution. While Daniel does succeed and it is the right thing he still puts Jack in a situation where he has to choose to sacrifice Daniel if he is to complete their mission and save a whole group of people. It isn’t fair. It hurts Jack, pisses him off, but Daniel isn’t putting that piece of it as his top priority. He’s putting saving two whole civilizations of history, art, and passion as his top priority. He doesn’t think past the consequences of what he’s doing. 

Another case like this is in season one, The Torment of Tantalus, where they find a device that contains information well beyond our wildest dreams. ‘Meaning of life stuff’ as he likes to say. He values this preservation of history and knowledge. Even more than his own life. His one track mindedness here almost gets him killed. Jack begs him to go, tries to force him, but Daniel refuses and again forces Jack to make the choice to leave him behind and get everyone else to safety. Now, Daniel does end up following and getting out of there but it does take him a little bit of time to come to the conclusion that he does have to leave. He can’t just give up his life to stay behind on a planet about to be destroyed by a storm. 

I want to touch on his pettiness for a moment because it is damn entertaining to watch him get… petulant for lack of a better word. I have never seen a man more willing to mouth off to high ranking government officials or question his bosses or down right taunt someone holding him captive. He will say some stupid joke in the driest tone I’ve ever heard and all I’m thinking is: yep this is the day he gets punched in the face. This is it. They’re going to do it. This man does not know when to shut up. My dear, sweet boy sometimes you have to SHUT UP!!! Self preservation, Daniel! Ever heard of it?!?! By far the best part of his pettiness is the looks him and Sam share when someone says something stupid. Some high ranking officer saying something stupid or derogatory? Sam and Daniel are sharing a ‘do you hear this guy?’ look. Someone being a bit too mouthy for their liking? They’re side-eyeing each other. They are true best friends. Having silent conversations with one another while everyone else in the room argues. I love their very first meeting. Sam geeking out over the dialing device while Daniel watches her like ‘who is this and why is she literally the most amazing person I’ve ever met’. Them interacting that whole first episode is just the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen. They are best friends, your honor. I cherish them.

Daniel, above all, is the definition of what it means to have a found family. His was taken from him and he spends his life finding a family again. The great thing is that he does find it. He finds it and he holds on so tight. I’m still working through the seasons of Stargate but Daniel is an interesting and beautiful character. He’s traumatized and sad but he’s also wonderfully complex and still learning. 

If you haven’t watched Stargate consider this: the found family trope runs rampant here. There’s plenty of content to watch, plenty of relationships to explore, and plenty of things to be said about this show. Plus, you could write some damn good fic about it if you wanted to :)

Polites without a doubt! Just look at that face!!

Rougher tickles work better on Odysseus, but light touches will destroy Polites, but he’s sensitive to both rough & lighter tickles

3. Which role (lee/ler) does each of them hold?

Odysseus is the ler most often, usually because Polites did or said something to provoke him. But Polites has his moments where he gets a mischievous streak & he just wants to see him laugh!

4. How did they discover each others’ ticklishness?

They were childhood friends as confirmed by the cut song let me be your light, so they’ve known about each other’s “weakness” for as long as they can remember. The actual discovery came about during a sparring match. Polites was taller than him even back then & would use his size to his advantage during their matches & he accidentally tickled him when he was trying to grapple him. Needless to say it turned into a full fledged tickle fight & Odysseus made his own discoveries

5. Who’s more likely to instigate a tickle fight?

Polites! He’s so mischievous & playful & tickle fights are his favorite way to break up the monotony of sailing. He very rarely finishes what he starts, but that’s half the fun!

6. How often do they tickle each other?

Literally like every day, they’re so silly☺️ definitely a few times a week. If one of them has been particularly sad, then it usually bumps up to multiple times a day. Y’all gotta remember they didn’t have jack shit to do back then

7. Who’s the least likely to ask for tickles?

Odysseus would rather fucking die than to ask someone to tickle him are you kidding? The best you’ll get is “well I’ve had worse” or “I don’t despise it or anything” but he can’t let people know the King of Ithica thinks tickling is kinda fun

who do you think max has the least ,,chemistry“ with? to me he always seems like such a nice guy and the interactions with the other drivers (always) look so wholesome. i always have to think about fernando and max after he won the championship in las vegas. he seems to get along with oscar pretty well, lando and charles obviously. but even in his interactions with lewis , he always has such a warm expression on his face ? or even with estie bestie😂

It’s tough to say because I think Max matches everyone’s energy pretty well.

But I don’t think I’ve ever seen him and Franco have a conversation so maybe them? I also don’t think he has brilliant chemistry with Liam either. And controversially, I don’t think he and Charles have good chemistry either.

I’ll also say I don’t think him and Lewis have particularly good chemistry but I also think they have a bit of a unique understanding/respect of each other that looks very intimate. But I think if you say them down and filmed them having a half an hour conversation it would be so dead.

I think he has good chemistry with a lot of people, even if they’re not necessarily friends, because they’ve all come from such similar backgrounds career wise and have known each other so long. I think that really bonds you.
