And I'm back, at the beginning; Not proud to admit: I'm beginning again; This time, equipped With a bandolier of intent, Trying not to resent the contempt. Equipped: with a new sense of purpose, With new fears & new leaks & holes in the ship, But also boards & beliefs to patch them with. There's a permanent sense of being unfinished. A willingness to Become, and in Becoming, The sin of not yet knowing where you fit in. All I can do, is not surrender the attempt.

ENTRY 422

We're currently at the beginning of February, so technically a little late for a New Year post, but I came across this list of resolutions and wanted to share in this blog. More thoughts later.

New Year Resolutions

1.) Help myself or someone else break a stigma or break stigmas.

2.) Take better care of my physical health.

3.) Share my story of hard work or survival.

4.) Make a commitment to stay up to date on a topic or topics of my choice.

5.) Do something I enjoy every day.

6.) Allow myself to be happier.

7.) Live true to myself.

8.) Making sure my life reflects more of me than of my occupation/job.

9.) Express my emotions more or from now on.

10.) Vocalizing my needs more or from now on.

11.) Stay in touch with friends and loved ones with better consistency.

12.) Surround myself with the people, places, and things that I love.

13.) Be much kinder to myself.

14.) Remind myself that self-care is just as important as selflessness.

15.) I will be brave and no longer allow fear to stop me or slow me down.

16.) I will count my blessings and be grateful for what I already have.

17.) Declare it the perfect time to forgive old and past grievances.

18.) I will build a support system or strengthen the one I already have.

19.) Unplug from technology more often.

20.) Be a giving person but set boundaries when I need to.

21.) Take my medication(s) as prescribed or be proactive on getting the right one(s). Same goes for vitamins if need be.

22.) I will ask for help when I need it.

23.) I will invest in the people that invest in me.

24.) I will say "no" when I need to, and I will say it without guilt or shame.

25.) I will stop procrastinating.

26.) I will work on being resilient.

27.) I will work on being independent.

28.) I will stop bashing myself, whether or not the day is challenging.

29.) I will take breaks as I need them.

30.) I will try to get a healthier dose of socialization, if that means amping it up or slowing it down.

31.) Instead of just reacting to negativity, I will learn more about becoming skilled at conflict resolution.

32.) I will limit my social media usage and I will also limit the influence it has in how I feel, what I feel, and when I feel.

33.) I will be compassionate toward myself.

34.) I will shut down and counteract negative self-talk.

35.) Feed my mind healthier things, not just my body.

36.) I will keep moving forward, if it's just to get extra steps for the day or making progress in life improvement.

37.) I will prioritize sleep.

38.) Speaking of which, I will have a clear list of set priorities for my greatest good.

39.) I will make more time for myself.

40.) I will be my own advocate.

The cult of...Danny Fenton?

So! Way back when Danny first moved into his new neighborhood in Gotham, he had some trouble controlling his Powers. The different Types and Levels of Ectoplasm in the air when compared to Amity had thrown off his control.

He was used to being in places where his Ectoplasm meshed well with the Atmosphere, like a Water Balloon in a Pool, but in Gotham that analogy would be closer to a Water Balloon in the sewers. It was too different from what he was used to to fully control his Powers.

So it's understandable that he messed up a few times and his neighbors found out about his Abilities.

They took it well at first, Danny wasn't going to go Rogues or anything, and he never used them maliciously, but eventually they got curious.

They asked what his limits were, how he got them in the first place, and what the hell the Ghost Zone was. The answers "None Really", "I died and was reborn", and "A Collective of every Afterlife at once" did spark some interesting reactions from them.

Most importantly, a few of them joked about him being an Eldritch God that they needed to worship. He was good enough friends with them that at that point they felt comfortable pranking eachother, so they did just that.

Danny woke up one day on his birthday, and saw all of his friends and neighbors surrounding the makeshift Throne they had made and put him on while he was asleep. The entire day they chanted stuff like "The Great One requires Ms. Smiths Apple Pie for his day of birth!" And "The Great One Wishes for us to sing the Ritual Song! Happy Birthday to You! Happy Birth-"

After his birthday, they kept up the joke.

It didn't help that his powers had evolved Again! And now he could bestow abilities onto his friends. The jokes they made about their God granting them Supernatural Powers to rule the world with were insufferable.

Then, one day while he was just resting at home, watching a movie on his TV, he felt a Pull at his Core. The same kind of Pull whenever he was being summoned. But why would they summon hi- Oh Shit! It's Mr Jenkins Party today! He was supposed to meet them at the Warehouse they used for special events an Hour Ago!

He quickly accepted the Summoning, but was met with a suprising sight. His Neighbors all tied up in a pile to his right, a spilled table of party food to his left, and right in front of him, Batman and his Family watching him with wary eyes.

Slowly, he opened his mouth. "...so, did you come for the party or..."

listen. i know it's not 2014 anymore and i know it's just a throwaway line and that the russo brothers didnt intend for marvel action blockbuster captain america the winter soldier to become the tragic gay love story that never was but man. having steve say "it's kind of hard to find someone with shared life experience" in a conversation about romantic relationships right before the bucky reveal is so cruel. it's not just about steve and bucky obviously having the shared experience of being "out of time," it's the fact that they've both been stripped of their humanity in opposite directions. steve is a legend, he is an american hero and a national icon before he is a human being the same way that bucky is a weapon and a killing machine before he is a human being. steve knows that anyone who falls in love with him in the 21st century fell in love with captain america first, and that's just not him. but then the one person who knew him first and knew him best and loved him (not captain america, that little guy from brooklyn) so much he died for it is alive, impossibly. and it's a miracle because he's back and it's horrific because he's back under the worst possible circumstances. but to steve, the winter soldier is worth tearing the world apart for because he's always been bucky first. they find each other and suddenly they're human again. and maybe, despite it all, being "out of time" becomes a blessing, because in this century they'd finally be allowed to love each other the way they've always wanted to. like real people do.

like. no. the captain america trilogy isn't about two queer men traumatized and alienated by war and modern life rediscovering and reclaiming their humanity through their love for each other. but. i mean. it couldve been
