don't mind me i'm just thinking about the potential of episodes we could have in 8b. a ravi begins episode that has a split focus on him becoming a firefighter and returning to the 118, partially because he needs to fill in for eddie but ultimately leading to him becoming a permanent a-shift member. then the week after is el paso, focused entirely on eddie and christopher and the diaz family, ending with eddie and chris coming home to los angeles AND eddie realising his feelings for buck. leading right into an episode about eddie's first shift back, which gives us some form of buddie nde, a feelings confession, and their first kiss <3

ngl i do find rewrites of double exposure vastly intriguing ( and want to do one myself ) but the moment people make a huge point of removing amanda and vinh as love interests i immediately lose steam lol. where’s your whimsy … every lis game has romance and max is not some sort of nun character, who is known for putting her feelings aside for the sake of a case. after all, while the world as she knows it is ending, max writes this in her journal about warren and chloe :

like!! she would kiss amanda and vinh!! she would!! max is impulsive and feels things for the people she cares for very, very strongly and i feel like erasing her canon love interests in a genuine rewrite of the game is sort of a null point. no, max wouldn’t think through the logistics of kissing two people while investigating the murder of her best friend. no, max wouldn’t abstain from indulging herself in something she genuinely wants just because she’s sad or busy. idk. double exposure desperately needs a rewrite but the second you write max as someone who’s ‘above’ love affairs i shake my head in disagreement. there’s a difference between including love interests and then allowing the player to have max not romance anyone versus forcing her and the player to not romance anyone at all.

every summer i return to working on my slasher ttrpg and lose my mind again. i have the slasher down now so this summer is all focused on the counselors. there are 17 of them and they all need distinct personalities which i’m struggling with a little since there are so many but also it’s fun

pretty minor thing to think about, but i find it interesting how chapter 7 is the first chapter illustration to show chizuutan as chizuru (instead of chuutan)

like, i get it’s a flashback chapter, but we hardly got to see her as chizuru in the previous few chapters thus far… maybe we’ll get to see more of her as her true self after the hiyori fight/make up? only future chapters may tell, i guess…

Oline like directly after step 4 is in like the most doomed polycule ever (which is that shes not in one).

Derek loves her a lot, and he would never want her to settle for him. He helps her raise Sasha because he cares about her, and he always wants to help her. When Oline and Baxter get 'back' together, he's happy for her. But then Sasha, this sweet little girl who he loves more than life itself just isn't there as much anymore- No more sleepovers where she sneaks into Nico's bed in the middle of the night. No more making silly jokes together in spanish because he KNOWS Oline doesn't understand a word.

Baxter is jealous– His daughter. HIS daughter, is so attached to someone else- Someone who filled the role that he knows should've beeb his. He feels guilty for even daring to be upset, knowing this was his own fault, but it makes his chest hurt every time Sasha asks when she gets to go see Derek again.

And Oline is conflicted. She's happy, sure. She has Baxter, who loves her and makes her happy even if her logic tells her she should still be pissed. She has her daughter, who is more important to her than anyone. And yet, when Baxter asks, mumbled between them in a moment of vulnerability, if she would've ended up with Derek given the time, she can't answer. She knows logically the answer is yes. She loves that boy, and with time, the little family unit they built would've become the norm. She would've been happy then, too.

But that moment has passed. The sickness she feels when she thinks about that will pass too.

At least, she hopes.

Bria: Yes, but we can’t forget about wedding busy!

Olivia: Yeah. It’s all happening!

Bria: It really is. I am so happy for you guys.

Olivia: So are we! I’m guessing that’s what this little get together is about?

Bria feigns shock: Can’t a girl just want to bond with her daughter-in-law?

Olivia: Oh, of course! I’m sorry I-

Bria: Nah, I’m just kidding. I love bonding with you, but let’s talk wedding!

Bria: So, what are you thinking?

Olivia: Gosh, I don’t even know. Knowing Grayson, he wants something intimate.

Bria: Who cares what Grayson wants? This is YOUR day!

Olivia laughs: I know, but I do want to consider him.

Bria: That’s why we love you, Olivia. You’re too sweet. We will make sure you both get what you want. But, mainly you.

Olivia laughs: I appreciate that. I’d love your ideas, too.

Bria: Well... since you asked, I have started talking with the hospitality staff. I imagine this is going to be quite the event. Grayson’s family alone is huge.

Olivia: Oh, that’s a good idea... to have help.

Bria: I’m sure your future husband gave you a whole spiel about how overbearing I am and how I’ll take charge of the whole thing.

Olivia: Uh...

Bria: But! I just want whatever it is you guys want. I’m just here to help, I promise.

Olivia: Thank you, Mrs. Wu-Winston.

Bria: Now, Olivia! You’re family now, girl! You can call me Mom.

Olivia: Okay... Mom!

I finally finished TLOVM season 3. It was a nice ending but it didn't blow me away. Nothing this season felt personally memorable. Something, which I can't discern, was missing this season in comparison to the previous ones.

And I hate to join that club, but in hindsight Bard's Lament would've elevated the tension. Maybe not a make it or break it element, but a sauce, a spice, if you will. It wouldn't have to be 100 like it was in the game, or end with his abrupt departure, again different environment/medias etc etc, but it needed some elevation. Without the outburst, Scanlan felt sidetracked and displaced and not in the narrative way intended (aka he feels unimportant to the party and misses kailey) but as if people forgot to write him in.

But there's a chance??? we'll get some outburst in S4.

My favorite parts were meeting Zerxus (nobody expected this) and the Perc'ahlia romance.
