Justice for Leah Clearwater. Still mad about it to this day.

God the Leah Clearwater stuff was so bizarre. All the stuff with the werewolves was bizarre! Oh Emery's the half brother of either Sam or Jacob or Quil but it'll never get brought up again. Oh Leah's infertile and hates it but there's no resolution to that story. Oh sometimes they can fall in love with babies but it's fine. And don't even get me started on how imprinting in and of itself is deeply fucked up for both the imprintee and imprinter alike but it's never acknowledged as such at all (the fact that Sam and Leah were deeply in love and then that went out the window just because Sam saw Emily, that's such a horrifying situation for all three of them! and that one creepy as Hell bit where Renesmee starts walking and Jacob immediately claps because he just has to automatically do what she wants even if he doesn't want to, along with the general creepiness of this adult man falling in love with a months old baby). And of course using an actual real life Native American tribe for all of this shit.

Listen, Twilight is not good. There's a lot of issues surrounding the writing and plot and worldbuilding, even if the hype against it was absolutely overblown and fueled mainly by misogyny. Unfortunately I read these books when I was ten and had a far less critical eye for the media I consumed, so I tolerated it and they still have the occasional hold on me.

i'll fully admit that while i do love poly ships, this isn't always where my mind goes to. sometimes i just don't like one of the love interests much, or alternatively: i don't care for the person the two others are fighting for and think the two love interests should leave that person high and dry and date each other

in twilight i think both of them honestly stink and should stay far away from bella. i can't remember them interacting all that much where they aren't fighting (pre renesmee) but i have seen some fun edward/jacob fan content that's doing its own thing

and i mean i personally don't think edward/bella/jacob would be winning i think it would be so wildly messy and disastrous but like. i do love a messy polycule. so,

Though I’m not a fan of the estrangement storyline I hope the show goes into more detail about it. It’s two whole years of their relationship we don’t know anything about and it aggravates me.

Did they ever have to make awkward conversation? Did Tommy/Mariah ever try to help them reconcile? Did one of them ever have a close call on patrol and the other came and checked in on them?

Based on the bar flashback scene it seems that no one in Jackson knew they were on bad terms, so I’m assuming they kept up an act in public

it aggrevates me, too! what happened between them?? again, really hope they explain/show more in the show. my mantra with wanting more things shown in the show is that they added stuff to the first season that wasn't really in the game, so surely they can add a few things to the second season. surely. so surely they can show what happened between joel and ellie. surely.

I'm sure they had to have a few awkward conversations. especially at the beginning of their estrangement. like, ellie's just ignoring joel and joel's just confused, surely they had to have a few awkward conversations/interactions. I'm not really a fan of game tommy, but I do like to think he would've tried to have the two of them sit down and talk about it. which probably resulted in them suddenly disappearing and being so busy. maybe maria tried to help, too! she wouldn't have been that sly about it, though. I imagine she'd try to do it on behalf of jackson. like tommy focuses on them reconciling for family bonding reasons, maria focuses on them reconciling for jackson reasons. the latter making them behave in public. the former probably gets ignored. ooo if one of them had a close call?? mmm I could see them being sly about it so as to not tip the other off. like joel realizes ellie left something in the main house that needs to be brought to her this instant (and it's like a spoon or something small) and ellie hanging around windows or being bold enough to just walk into the main house and steal something from him to check on him. but also, you remember the bloater flashback?? what the FUCK was that? ellie almost gets her head ripped off, and all joel has to say is "that was too damn close"???? sir, that is your daughter. you shot up an entire hospital to save her? a bloater tries to rip her head off and you're barely even phased??? I hope they change that scene a bit in the show. I feel like joel would've freaked out a bit more than that??? and would've fretted trying to make sure ellie was okay.

mmmm the bar scene :( assuming it's the dance, they had to have put on a façade in public. which was probably a work in progress. I doubt it was there in the beginning because their emotions would've been too high. joel would've been too confused and ellie would've been too angry, I imagine. so that façade might've started after one too many questions about what happened between them or after maria said they needed to behave. but also? why was she so mad at him? yes, she can most definitely stand up for herself, but also? that is your, once upon a time, father figure? he's just trying to defend you? he wasn't trying to start anything. that whole night just devastates me. ellie dancing with dina, having their first kiss? shoving joel for standing up for her, only to show up on his porch later to forgive him? and then for him to die the very next day. it destroys me everytime I think too much about it. but yes, they had to have a façade while in public

What’s the dynamic when Doey, Lucas, and Bella are together?

GRINNING SO BIG BACK AT YOU!!! I have so much I am so sorry here, have a doodle before I throw you into the read more:

Their dynamic is very much like siblings. There is definitely a reason they usually only use one at a time as being in a group together emboldens all three of them. It is hard to fully describe the change, but when they are all together you can actually tell they are kids, they act like kids. Being put together is generally a reward for particularly good behavior (conditioning always works better if you mix both positive and negative reinforcement, even if they lean negative) and VERY OCCASIONALLY they are allowed things like crayons or books. Lucas has self proclaimed himself the older brother of their squad which he takes very seriously, which really doesn't mean very much besides the fact he is very loud, loves to "older sibling" brag (make stuff up haha), and thinks he is really funny. He is the one that gets the energy going in a room, and if there is a tussle it's probably his fault. Bella is a very obvious contrast to that, she is quiet and would much rather go with the flow of whatever is happening than take charge like Lucas. However, I think she is hiding a sneaky side under there that doesn't come out very often, but if given the chance to grow up normally she would probably enjoy pranks and get away with them. She likes to draw and she likes listening to stories. She's much stronger than she looks, Lucas knows this first hand (if Doey was in a normal situation/environment he would probably know her "wrath" too.) Doey has the most noticeable shift, and it would be even more if he wasn't in his current circumstances. (I wrote a ton a ton here but I think I'll save it for a second post). It's kinda hard to explain? Big ole' "it depends" I suppose? Sometimes he is more in-line with Lucas, more mischievous and playful, liberally using his abilities to make up for their lack of playthings. Sometimes it is more like a contented air where he will just sit and listen while the other two do their own thing, but he'll still be an active part of conversation. They talk a lot, all three of them, there aren't many occasions where they can talk and feel listened to. Even Bella who is more quiet. It's the only opportunity for play they ever get, unlike some of the experiments in other sections of the building. Obviously if things are not great(tm) for one of them the energy mellows out more, but even if it isn't acknowledged they treat these opportunities like it will be the last time it ever happens. I don't even know if I answered the question right at this point T-T I have been typing and retyping this for hours at this point. It's like, I know it but I don't know how to say it. They act like siblings, sibling who are keenly aware they are all each other has, while still being themselves as much as they can while they have the chance. Being able to all be together without having to worry if anyone is alright genuinely is a reward for them, and it just makes punishments more effective. I think they used to be more reserved, especially Doey who is very keenly aware of being observed like 24/7, but it wasn't worth caring about, they didn't have that luxury. It probably freaked the hell out of several scientists observing him who are generally more used to "Perpetual glower", or "intentionally trying to push your buttons", and on good days "quiet compliance". He got along with critters in places like the courtyard, but he was generally avoided by other toys because he is massive and scary looking, when he walks the ground literally shakes in game. It would be worth looking into more to find a less volatile way to control him, if he wasn't considered such a liability and didn't already have a body count pre-HOJ Man I hope this doesn't suck to read TwT sorry for the messy word vomit here!!

To say the least you were worried. After leaving the Volterra you couldn't stop shaking. That look on Aro's face made your stomach sick. All you wanted was for things to go back to normal.

You laid in your bed with your hands in your hair. Stressing wasn't going to help and yet you felt anxious.

You tried to distract yourself by reading. It wasn't guaranteed to calm you but you hoped it would help anyways. You got up and went over to your Bookshelf and picked out Pride and Prejudice. You were in a dire of something happy and predictable.

You laid in your bed, trying to get comfortable and you snuggled with your stuff animals for some comfort. You read the first sentence, "is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of good fortune must be in want of a wife." Ah, yes Elizabeth and Darcy, you always liked this story. You'd read the book before and seen the many iterations & adaptions. You were a hopeless romantic, you couldn't help but love this story.

You took a deep breath and continued to read before you knew it you had finished the first chapter. You flipped to the next page and read, "Bennett was among the earliest of those who waited on Mr. Bingley." You smiled to yourself as you felt a cold breeze around you. You sat down your book and placed your bookmark in. You sat your book to the side and went over to grab your warm sweater.

You felt a shiver go through your spine as you wrapped your sweater close to your body like a warm hug. You looked to your left and noticed the window was open. Weird. You thought you closed it before you left, perhaps your Dad opened it for some fresh air. The house did tend to get a bit stuffy now and then.

You went over to close it and snuggled down in your bed with your nose in a book. But, you couldn't shake the feeling that you were being watched. You got up again to look around.

You looked around your room. Nothing. "Just paranoid Y/N, take a deep breath." You tried to even your breathing and turned around towards your bed. You gasped at what you saw. Standing there was Alec. Before you could scream Alec covered your mouth and whispered, "Please don't scream, I'm not going to hurt you. I'm going to move my hand but do you promise to stay calm?"

When he moved his hand, you could help but ask, "What are you doing here? How? When?" You whispered. You tried to keep it down in case Charlie or Bella heard you. Bella wasn't exactly ecstatic about the while 'mate' thing whatever that meant. Nothing made any sense and you wished you had some answers. You could probably guess what it meant but everything that was happening overwhelming and confusing all you wanted was something stable, something normal, something safe.

You were starting to think going to Italy with Bella and Alice was a bad idea. You wanted to make sure Bella was safe and that she would be okay. As much as you were annoyed with certain aspects of Bella and Edwards relationship, he made her happy and lively. And it was hard seeing her so broken and you felt helpless seeing her like that. Which is why you went to make sure they made it out okay. The reason you went wasn't a bad idea, you knew that but that didn't change the fear you felt over everything.

He had a gentle smile playing on his lips and placed his index finger over your lip trying to calm your worry, "Shhh, it's okay love, I'm not going to hurt you, alright? I promise." He moved his finger away and placed his hands to his back. He seemed to do this out of respect for you, he understood you were confused and wanted answers therefore he did not want to make you more uncomfortable. He must have realized he should have thought of a better tactic than sneaking into room. That doesn't exactly scream 'I'm not gonna hurt you'

"I just wanted to see you, get to know you. And help you understand all of this. I'm sure your confused and scared but you have nothing to fear, I'd never hurt you."

"How do I know you won't? Your a vampire who feeds of human blood. Innocent people who've done nothing to you or anyone and yet they end up dead. And you say won't hurt me?" You argued.

"Because your my mate," He stated.

"What does that even mean?" You asked.

"It means that we're meant to be together. I know this is confusing but please, trust me."

"Ya think?" You looked away and let out a breath, "Bella's gonna kill me for this. I want to trust you, I do. Part of me wants to and is telling me I should but the other part of me can't."

He cupped your face, "Please," He pleaded with you.

"You know why I can't. We've just met, can't you understand why I can't?"

"I can, but that doesn't mean I don't want you to. I can understand why you don't, this is all new for you. Not only what happened in Italy but you've only recently found out about vampires, right?"

"Yes."

"I know your scared and I know you don't trust me but to trust me you have to let me in. Please give me a chance."

"Y/N dinner!" Charlie called for you. You turned away and yelled, "Coming Dad!" You turned back and he was gone. You sighed, "How am I supposed to trust someone who disappears?" You groaned, unsure of what the future held. But you knew one thing was for sure I'd either be really good or really bad.

have you always partaken in fandom culture? what's your favorite part of belonging in a community like this one?

pretty much, yeah, in some form or another!! at least since i was 10ish— first ff.net, then deviantart, then pinterest, then finally here (with patches of instagram and twitter sprinkled in between) :^)

my favorite thing about fandom communities in general is the sense of belonging, being with people who like the same things i do and will let me be myself in that aspect that i can’t really express anywhere else. and that’s my favorite thing about this community specifically too— even more so, cause this is the first time i’ve felt like…. people know who i am, if you get what i’m saying? this is mostly because dtblr is so small and close-knit but i feel like an active and known participant in fandom instead of just being along for the ride with what everyone else is doing. and i have actual friends for the first time which is pretty cool!

my other favorite aspect that goes for both general and specific that i wanna mention is fan creativity. i LOVE it!!! i love art and writing and fanmade merch i think all that stuff is just so epic

Deeper Than The Darkest Depths (Twilight X M!Triton!Reader)

Part Two

Your still unconscious form lays across Sam's kitchen table, chest exposed and heavily bleeding, the blood seeping down your sides and onto the wood. Sam watches with a clenched jaw as Emily rushes about, gathering what few medical supplies they have in order to tend to your wounds.

As he watches her, he can't help but to mentally curse the Cullen's for disappearing. His wife isn't equipped for this type of stuff but Carlisle is. Despite hating them, Sam knows that your chances of healing would be greater with the leech treating you. Unfortunately, his only option is Emily who looks beyond stressed as she tries her best to clean the blood from your torso.

Bella stands on the other side of the kitchen, watching with wide eyes, looking a bit pale at the sight of all the blood painting your body crimson. She clings onto Jacobs arm, unable to look away even as Emily begins to stitch the jagged cuts closed. Her grip on Jacob's arm tightens even further as she swallows the lump in her throat. "Do you think it was him?" Her voice comes out in a shaky whisper.

"It's possible." Jacob shrugs. "They found him on the beach. It'd certainly line up with what you saw."

"If it was him..." Bella frowns as she thinks about it, the reality sinking in as she stares at the bleeding gashes across your chest. "Then that means he got hurt saving me. It's my fault he's bleeding out on Sam's table."

"It's not your fault." Sam immediately speaks up as he turns his gaze towards Bella. "He's the one that chose to help- if he's the one that saved you. And the injury is the leeches fault, nobody else's." He pauses, looking back towards you as his wife works diligently to stop the bleeding. His jaw clenches, his thoughts running a mile a minute as he looks over your human-like appearance while his thoughts conjure up the version of yourself that he first saw. "I need to make some calls."

Exiting the home, he strides a few yards away from the porch before pulling out his phone to call one of the elders. It rings a few times before the person on the other end finally answers- Billy. "What can I do for you?" The older man immediately questions, knowing that Sam wouldn't call unless it was important.

"I have a few questions that I'm hoping you have answers to." When Billy tells him to go on, he continues. "I came across something today that I've never seen before. It was a man unconscious on the beach, but he had the features of a fish- gills and all. Have you heard of anything like that?"

Billy sighs on the other end. "Not a whole lot. It's mostly just folk tales and speculations from the ancestors. Nothing to indicate if any of them actually saw anything like that. Let me grab one of the journals real quick."

The line goes silent for a few moments, leaving Sam to pace his yard as he waits not so patiently for him to come back. The second he hears Billy's breath on the other end he straightens up, giving his full attention to the older man. "Only one of the journals has ever mentioned creatures from the sea. It's one of the oldest journals from the original ancestors so the writings a bit faded but I can make out a good amount of it."

The sound of pages turning comes through the line before Billy continues. "There's a few different creatures listed, all of which come from water. A lot of the details are worn, but I think what you described might be a Triton. They're male sea gods or spirits, often depicted with a fish tail. That sound about right?"

"Yeah, that describes it pretty well." Sam nods along, remembering the form he first saw you in. You certainly did have the fish of a tail up until it was replaced with legs. "What else does it say?"

"Not much." Billy grumbles, clearly displeased at the lack of information. "Just that they're protectors of the sea and that they're stronger than the average human. Sorry, but that's about it."

"That's alright. Thanks for your help, Billy." Sam hangs up with a heavy sigh, running his hand tiredly over his face before turning to head back inside.

As he reenters the house, he finds his kitchen table cleared and clean, Emily just having finished wiping it free of your blood. "He's been moved to the couch for now." She explains to him. "It's a bit strange, though. Once I managed to get all the blood cleaned off of him, his injuries didn't seem all that bad. As if they had already started healing."

"Really?" Sam hums with interest as he peaks into the living room, spotting your still unconscious form spread across his couch, fresh bandages wrapped around your torso and a pair of his sweatpants covering your lower half.

"I had the boys move and change him." Emily comes up, standing next to her husband as she leans against him, him automatically wrapping an arm around her. "Any idea what you're going to do with him once he wakes up?"

"If he's not hostile, then hopefully I can ask him some questions. I called Billy but he couldn't tell me a whole lot. Guess none of the ancestors actually came across his kind before."

She hums with interest. "Well, I hope he wakes up soon. I'd love to be one of the first to know more about his kind."

Sam simply chuckles, turning his head to press a kiss to her hairline. "We'll see. If he's hostile when he wakes up then I don't want you anywhere near him. For now, we should get to bed. I'll have one of the boys keep an eye on him."

With that, the two of them head to bed, leaving the boys to take shifts watching over you. And first up is Paul.
