Like the link has stated, the animators are artists too, they want to be able to release work that they themselves are proud of, but their scenes are pretty much js getting cut out to meet deadlines, and not to mention the low pay and work conditions.

So if you want to blame someone, blame the greedy studio.

Pls reblog to let others know, don't keep going after the animators for S2, they've tried their best, take your anger and disappointment out on the studio instead

[🧸]: don't kill me for this, but i really feel like episode four of blue lock season 2 is a big improvement over the previous episodes. there’s been a lot of talk about the animation quality this season, and it seems like much of the criticism is aimed directly at the animators. but here’s the reality: the animators are reportedly not being compensated fairly, and despite this, they’re clearly putting in an incredible amount of effort to deliver a strong season. episode four is proof of just how hard they’re working.

it would be great if more people could recognize that the animators aren’t the ones to blame here. if anything, it’s the studio that deserves criticism for placing intense demands on the animation team without providing adequate support or fair pay. the studio has also been cutting scenes, which likely contributes to the quality inconsistencies in the earlier episodes.

regardless, episode four’s animation was a noticeable step up, and i think we should appreciate what the animators have achieved despite the challenges they’re facing.

I have so many thoughts on Arcane which I'll get to eventually, but before that I just have to say...

ANYONE who is complaining about how short and rushed this season was, or how little time we got with certain characters/plots... don't blame the creators or the writers.

Blame the streamers. Those studios, Netflix in particular, are the ones who are responsible for destroying TV and cutting seasons in half, and then limiting most shows to 2 seasons. Television has suffered so much because of their greed. Those studios aren't run by artists, they're run by moneymen. They don't care about your shows, they don't care about the stories or the characters or the fans, they just want money. And they mismanage their money so much it's fucking sickening.

And yes, it is a choice. It doesn't have to be this way, and there can be exceptions. The finale of the last season of Stranger Things was 2 and a half hours long. It was it's own movie.

So blame the streamers. Blame them every single day until we get greedy asshole's hands off of our art so that we have the space to present our stories in the way they deserve.

EDIT: To be clear when I say streamers, I'm talking about the studios, particularly the ones like Netflix/Disney/Hulu that can only be watched on the internet via streaming apps. Broadcast television used to be, and still is in some cases (Blue Bloods, Grey's Anatomy season 87...), 20-23 episode seasons. With story and nuance and side quests and growth.

Joker 2 is flopping, yet there's a noticeable absence of headlines declaring white male leads a liability or calling for them to be given fewer opportunities. Compare that to how Nia DaCosta was treated during The Marvels theatrical run, where the media was on a mission to tarnish her reputation, for something that was out of her control. We’re supposed to feel bad for Todd, but no sympathy was given to Nia, when her film and cast was facing a major hate campaign, plus couldn’t promote due to the actors strikes.

White male-led films and shows are allowed to flop quietly, and still be given chances. And there have been plenty of male box office flops this year alone, yet the scrutiny and backlash seem reserved for projects led by women or people of colour, where failure (even if it’s out of their control) brings harsh criticism.
