I had to upload this because this was a fun commission, I learned alot from the experience and most of all the object was something I did for the first time.
I am pretty sure you all can notice.
However, I wanted to thank the person who requested the commission. So, thank you very kindly ^^ I had a lot of fun learning.

I see you’re doing blender art! Super cool! Are there any tutorials you recommend? I’ve tried using blender myself but I just can’t wrap my brain around it and all the tutorials I’ve watched don’t help me much

very cool!! oh yeah blender is. a lot. lol it’s taken me about a year of just noodling around to finally sit down but this video ^^^ old reliable. honestly just sitting down and watching/following along the full thing really helped me get a more solid understanding, plus it’s really insightful!
southernshotty and blenderbitesize are two other channels that are really really helpful, definitely recommend them for fleshing out skills and whatnot ^_^
#it really is just trial and error!! good look anon have fun :]>#ALSO something that helped a lot was just watching speed builds of models? at least it helped me learn a couple tricks just by copying#what i saw more experience users do#asks

Month 4, day 4
I am so good at math, y'all. So good. For example, did you know that 18 and 48 are actually two totally different numbers?! Crazy!
Anyway tonight I present to you a chunky glitter material that I have animated the ball rotating to show off, and due to the fact that 18 and 48 are in fact not the same number at all, it will take four hours to render instead of the mere one I thought it was going to take, so you'll get to see the animation tomorrow :P
#the great artscapade of 2025#art#my art#blender#blender render#blender 3d#cycles render#blenderbitesize#in case you couldn't tell I used the wrong number for my math calculations lol#oh well I'll just use the hour I was going to spend writing fanfiction while I waited for the animation to finish rendering#and I shall instead write fanfiction and NOT wait for the animation to finish rendering#we're living on the edge tonight folks!#woo!!!

Made a toxic slime material!
Ngl tho I think it looks like green apply jolly rancher jello and I kinda want to slurp it up through a straw. I would regret it immediately regardless of whether or not it's toxic slime or green apple jolly rancher jello, but I wanna! XD
#the great artscapade of 2025#art#my art#blender#blender render#blender 3d#cycles render#blenderbitesize#this is why I shouldn't be allowed into any mad scientist lairs#I would cause Problems™#by drinking things I oughtn't#fortunately there are no mad scientists in my city#let alone any that have lairs#...that I know of

Month 3, day 10
Two things tonight! Technically three, actually, but only two tutorials for it lol
First: a crystal glass material!
Second: half animated candle materials! Candle wax (not animated), and the candle flame (animated) :D I added Suzanne with the crystal glass material and the pine cones to the candle scene because I'm of course gonna aminate this bitch, so I wanted more things for the candle's light to interact with.
#the great artscapade of 2025#art#my art#blender#blender render#blender 3d#cycles render#blenderbitesize#ryan king art#procedural materials#one of the reasons I'm happy I decided to alternate 2d and 3d art is so I can render animations overnight#and not have to worry about if it'll be done in time :D#I might actually up the sample count for a cleaner render too

Month 1, day 29
Oof, tonight was almost a bust. The first tutorial I tried was a fluid simulation that kept crashing Blender, the second one was a material tutorial for snow covered rocky ground that would not play nice with itself, and this is the third one I tried
It's not supposed to look like this. It's cool! Don't get me wrong! And I'm sure I can find ways to use it in the future. It's just not supposed to look like this lol
#the great artscapade of 2025#art#my art#blender#blender render#blender 3d#cycles render#blenderbitesize#I'm confident I can complete the fluid sim I just have to baby it#and by the time I figured out *how* to baby it I had an hour and fifteen minutes left before I need to start getting ready for bed#and the sim was going to take WAY longer than that to finish#as for the ground material I cannot figure out what went wrong with it#think there was a caching issue with Blender#I can try to troubleshoot it bc the tutorial is for a much older version of Blender anyway#same with this one#older version of Blender = wonky af

I've been a busy kitty tonight :3 Because on top of 3 (three!) new materials, one of which is animated, I also washed all of my clothes and my main bed blankie :)
#the great artscapade of 2025#art#my art#blender#blender 3d#blender render#cycles render#blenderbitesize#my blankie is a queen sized comforter made with a microplush fabric from before microplush became actually micro lol#it's big and heavy and fluffy#it's so old that all the tags on it are blank except the brand#which is Dolphin Blankets#guess how hard it is to find anything on that brand#go on#guess#because my blankie is old and desperately needs to be replaced but all these new blankets are too thin and light ;-;#I was hoping I could find the manufacturer's website and get a new blankie in the same pattern but alas#does not possible u_u

Clorb (cloth orb) started and finished, which concludes the lessons! So I moved on to some materials just to give my brain a rest, and updated my gemstone and glazed ceramic materials :)
#the great artscapade of 2025#art#my art#blender#blender render#blender 3d#cycles render#cg fast track#procedural shader networks#blenderbitesize#I did wind up taking *some* creative liberties with the cloth#I didn't like the way he had it look all worn down and the hair particles to add fuzziness looked less fuzzy and more spiky#so I played with things until I was happy with the look :)

Moar materials today! Which wasn't originally my plan, but I was already on my 'puter building houses in the Sims, so here we are :P
The black one is gaming console plastic, the white one is cracked/weathered plaster, and the other one is weathered stone :)
#the great artscapade of 2025#art#my art#blender#blender render#blender 3d#cycles render#blenderbitesize#also my roommate fixed the washing machine!#it sprung a leak a little over two years ago#and executive dysfunction is a rude little bitch#but it's fixed now!#and it was a relatively simple fix (if you ignore the weird contortionism he had to do to get to the part that needed fixing)!#and now we can both have clean underwear WHENEVER WE WANT#I mean he technically always could bc he owns the only vehicle and also the only drivers license between the two of us lol BUT STILL#NO MORE LAUNDROMATS WOO

(╯°□°)╯MATERIALS. PLASTIC ONES.
One of them is a streamlining/redo of an older material, can you guess which one it is? Hint: It's red :D
#the great artscapade of 2025#art#my art#blender#blender render#blender 3d#cycles render#blenderbitesize#fortunately THESE plastics don't destroy the environment :D#anyway part of me is sad that I don't have anything to show for the Forspoken launch anniversary#maybe next year!#maybe not#idk we'll see#...I *do* have several photo dump projects in the works I need to actually ya know work on tho >.>#hmm#maybe if I buckle down this year and get those sorted and organized (and in some cases written) I can launch them on the third anniversary#something to consider/work towards
