Reto: Día 13, música. Y qué mejor que. 👇 Cruce de caminos (la leyenda de Robert Johnson). Faltaba poco para la medianoche. El paraje solitario se encontraba iluminado por la luna. Hacía calor, siempre hace calor en delta del Mississippi. El sonido de una armónica que acompañaba a los grillos, se escuchaba a lo lejos, con un ritmo tan cansino como mis pasos. Llevaba la guitarra apoyada en un hombro. Estaba asustado, me puse a silbar un blues. Los grillos, la armónica y el blues, me acompañaban. La cita era a las doce, en el cruce de las carreteras 61 y 49. No había nadie, solamente el resplandor y yo. Tragué saliva, sentí el sudor deslizarse lentamente desde la frente hacia el resto de la cara. Un ave me distrajo aleteando cerca, cuando volví la vista al camino encontré a la figura. El corazón me estalló fuera de ritmo. La luna le daba de lleno, el hombre estaba parado justo en el cruce de los dos caminos. Un ala del sombrero le cubría medio rostro, solamente se le veía la sonrisa blanca. —Soy Isaías —se presentó. Quedé mudo. —Veo que has traído tu guitarra, ¿puedes prestársela a un servidor?—preguntó. Sin hablar se la entregué. Isaías tocó algo, luego se detuvo y meneó la cabeza en forma negativa. —No está bien —comentó, y allí mismo la afinó, me explicó entonces algunos acordes y con una sonrisa me devolvió el instrumento. Antes de despedirse sacó un tubo de metal de su bolsillo. —Es tuyo, no olvides usarlo con los acordes que te di. Hará que las notas envuelvan como una serpiente, seducción pura. —¿Te volveré a ver? —le pregunté. —Sí, en este mismo lugar. Tu deseo se ha cumplido, serás el mejor y muchos te tendrán como ejemplo e inspiración. Pero te reclamaré cuando cumplas veintisiete años. Tengo grandes planes y tú serás el primero de mis discípulos. Luego se acomodó el sombrero y se fue tomando la ruta iluminada por la luna. The Hetaira

The formation of quaternities in Jungian thinking is quite common.  Jung thought that all complete systems were four-fold.  The best known quaternity in Jungian thought is the "Function Type" quaternity of Thinking, Feeling, Sensate, & Intuition.  Quaternities are formed via specific rules and must meet some specific criteria.  The ends of each axis must be polar opposites and functionally exclusive of each other.  There must be a common trait on each axis.  The trait of each axis must be opposite to the trait of the other axis.  Diagonal pairs must also have a trait in common. Quaternities form a natural whole.  For instance, the 4 archetypes of the feminine personality are The Queen/Mother, The Medial, The Amazon and The Hetaira (below).  As a unit they cover a broad range of the female personality.  Although not totally inclusive, the thought is that to produce wholeness in the feminine psyche, direct and/or related archetypal aspects of each part of the feminine personality quaternity must be successfully integrated.

Like The Mother, The Hetaira is personally related to her subjects.  Unlike The Mother, she is not interested in family or community.  Rather she is interested in one-on-one relationships with males that challenge her and in which she can challenge them.  She is not at all interested in providing some womb-like environment of safety.  Rather she is interested in providing the opportunity for the male to challenge himself by stretching his ideologies, philosophies and perceptions of life to include feminine perspectives which challenge him to maintain Level 3 and Level 4 anima projections, which may lead him to develop the Sophiic qualities of wisdom.

The Hetaira may limit herself to an individual male, but may as well feel very comfortable having such relationships with more than one male.  She has either formally or informally spent a lot of time studying the ways of the world and the ways of the male and, as such, is not interested in holding onto relationships that are not growing and maturing.

As with The Mother, The Hetaira innately understands the power of her feminine nature, but she understands it as a psychological vessel rather than a physical vessel.  She has an excellent grasp of the relationship between the physical and philosophic worlds as well as her inner and outer realities.

Sexual intimacy is not strictly a physiological experience for The Hetaira, although traditionally she is very creative in such relationships.  The choice to indulge in sexual intimacy is based on her personal preferences and interests.  However, one minimal requirement is that the male readily and willingly rises to her creative ideological challenges.  Only with such effort will he have even the slightest possibility of indulging in the sexual joys of The Hetaira.  Regardless of sexual choice, her main interest still lies in being a friend and confidant to the male and encouraging him to expand his horizons to the broadest of possible perspectives.
