Jikook Week 74 Complete (06/05-13/05/2025)

Jikook have finalized their 74th week in the military and it's time to look back at this week in 2015. BTS had released The Most Beautiful Moment in Life Pt. 1 on 29th April and were doing the rounds of the music shows promoting I Need U and Boys with Fun. This is the uncut MV released on 10/05 (the version released on 29/04/15 was cut to meet censor age requirements).

On 06/05/15, BTS appeared on Show Champion. Here they are performing Boy with Fun with jikook in pastel blue and green.

There are a couple of behind the scenes videos from the show. In the first one Jimin and JK talk about Jimin's abs and JK's interest in boxing and in the second one JK shares his shaved ice with Jimin.

The next day (07/05) they appeared on M Countdown and garnered their second music show win for I Need U.

The members were so hyped about that win and the one at The Show two days earlier. Taehyung can't stop kissing the camera, Namjoon is lit from within finally seeing their hard work paying off, JK is bouncing and full of love for ARMY and Jimin is overcome with gratitude and determined to continue to work hard.

The good news didn't stop there. The next day (08/05) they won again on Music Bank and they went on to win a total of five music show trophies with I Need U.

Watching this it's clear that the release of The Most Beautiful Moment in Life Pt. 1 really was a turning point for the group and a boost to their spirits and confidence. What is also clear is the amount of time Jimin and Jungkook were spending together on and off stage. The joint selca era was well underway.

Jikook Week 64 Complete (25/02-04/03/2025)

Jikook have finalized their 64th week in the military and we are in the final countdown. Less than 100 days before they are home with us again.🥳🎊🎉

This week, we're looking back at jikook in 2015. On 03/03/2015 BTS played Jenga. It was an amazingly long game with everyone playing impressively but Jin showing particular flair.

It was a nerve wracking scene with each member more relieved than the next when their turn passed by. Jimin always seemed to be at the end of the line when the tower was at it's most precarious. Ever the entertainer he accepted his fate and the tower came tumbling down.

But what was the punishment? That's right it was a kiss.

Jimin hones in on Suga (the chosen one) and adopts a whole persona as he struts towards him, taking off his coat and hat and leaving poor Suga shaking in his boots.

And look at JK studiously examining the floor. After all this was 2015 the year that Jimin was consistently asking him for kisses. But not that day!

No kisses on camera though.

But Jimin did leave a mirror kiss for ARMY on Twitter . Look how cute our Jiminie is here. Oh to have been 2015 ARMY.

Something was definitely in the air that year. Back stage the energy was palpable as this Bangtan Bomb release 02/03/2015 reveals.

You know how there are nostalgia influencers and content creators now? About things from 1990s?

I feel like I’m going to turn into a kpop nostalgia old lady because vintage BTS, EXO and Big Bang still resonates so hard guys. Good earnest music will always stand the test of time.

In 2015, BTS released THEE song of all time, ‘I Need U’. Their career skyrocketed after that and never really slowed down. That marked a new era and led to a shift in the kpop industry that can never be disputed.

In 2015, BIG BANG returned from a two year hiatus to release one of the most solid collections of songs in kpop history. The MADE era just had one good song after another, all killer no filler. I can’t remember a kpop album with that many solid songs on it.

In 2015, EXO released Exodus with ‘Call Me Baby’ and then ‘Love Me Right’, which still sounds amazing ten years later.

There will never be a MAMA Awards night or end of year awards season quite like 2015-2016. It was just peak in every single way and so fun.

2015 was ten years ago. Where did time go. Sigh.
