a better articulation of something i had a kinda confused conversation around the other week:

one of the negative effects, for me, of the way that media/literature in aggregate tends to ignore and sideline women is that it can make it hard for me to get into genuinely good stuff just because it is (or superficially appears to be) part of a trend that I am ground down by and fed up of.

this isn't the same as saying that each individual piece of media is Bad or unwatchable/unreadable for not bucking the trend - that isn't how it works! - it's just a flaw that's hard for me to ignore for reasons that aren't the fault of this particular work, but which result from the prevalence of that particular flaw in other works.

I wish I didn't feel like this! but I do.

Frankly I am surprised that on this unholiest of websites the "cleric or paladin" option is currently beating out everything besides not playing D&D at all! That said, when I'm not DMing my main is cleric lol (though I do so *love* a monk/rogue multiclass)

First post in years!! I’ll start with my dnd party from my last campaign. We played Out of the Abyss and everyone survived, woohooo!

Some of the style is inspired by the Castlevania animation series.

From left to right: Human bard, Warforged barbarian, Fire genasi cleric (me), Tiefling warlock, Wood Elf Ranger, and Bugbear Monk.

Our amazing DM is shown overhead deviously plotting.

Ako accidentally makes a dnd campaign for the girls. She said it as a once off thing but they genuinely got invested and started planning it and lo and behold it becomes a thing. Maya, Misaki or Sayo dm. Maya has the theatrics and lore down to a tea, Misaki finds it weirdly relaxing to be in control of a campaign while sayo is less of an actor everything is meticulously planned out and her twists are actually very compelling. Chisato and Kaoru do it as an acting exercise and rimi only joins if its horror based. Yukina is weirdly Fascinated by it and is inspired by it while Rinko and Ako are pros and show up outfit and all, maybe even a weapon. Moca is only there to stir up the pot and Hina rolls immaculately all the time somehow. Rokka is an absolute nerd and is incredible at it (she's just too shy to dm) the newest edition to the campaigns are tomori and taki. Taki is knowledgeable but she's mostly there to support tomori who wants to break out of her shell (she's also super into the miniatures)

Mod Fusion: My first thought was the Bandori girls in a "Critical Role"-style webshow, with Maya/Misaki/Sayo functioning as Matt Mercer.

thinking about how our dnd characters look like as other races, and I instantly knew what bruno as a human would look like he's got extra long ears as a bugbear from being in the feywild for an extended period of time (and eventually lost his memories of being there) He also smells like honey (his fur), so I think as a human his burps would smell like honey
