I don't think anyone actually asked for this, but considering how many people replay the game to try out different routes and Crowns, I have now added a cheat sheet functionality that shows you which choices get you points for which personality trait! Should make it easier to customize your Crown on repeat playthroughs, though of course, for first time players I recommend they play it with the cheat sheet off.

Restart the game from the starting screen, and you should get an option to turn it on or off from the beginning ✨

PJ and Gradient both latched on to fresh like parasites (ironic) and he let them so they’re family now. Ink and Error are both deadbeats, Error because he didn’t want kids and is in jail anyways (Gradient could be useful to him though) and Ink because he keeps forgetting where he left the damn things and fresh keeps swooping in to take them before/if he remembers they exist.

PJ (He/They) hates both his parents. Error could give less of a shit and Ink still thinks they’re chill and can’t take a hint.

Gradient is scared of Error. But he thinks of Ink as a weird friend, and Ink thinks the same about him. They’re chill, and it pisses PJ and Fresh off to no end.

Fresh is just annoyed at the terrible parenting and child abandonment.

Error and Ink are not together. PJ and Gradie are both results of fights the two of them had before their truce. They hate each other (usually) and i dont ship them i dont like errorink

Here's your friendly warning to backup all your CC, Saves, Tray Files… well, your entire Electronics Arts folder really. The update coming tomorrow will be big.

Seriously, with how bad For Rent was in terms of corrupting saves and lots that people have been building for years, I just wouldn't play your most important saves with the new patch for a few weeks until the community confirms what's broken. This goes for people playing without CC too. The last few updates have caused bugs that affect the game at its core, and simply removing your CC will not fix it.

This update adds: Over 140k words (including code)!!

Or, you could head over to the local music festival instead! Why bother tracking down your hitman. Unless...?

Attempt a little breaking and entering, just for fun.

Plant a listening device and hope for the best.

Head home and plan your next steps.

Possibly use your new time travel abilities to fix your mistakes. Or don't. It'll probably be fine.

As you can see, the update is finally here! I'm sorry it took me so long, I really wasn't expecting it to. Alas, writing and coding are rather time consuming. And 100k words is basically a novel's worth.

Despite the word count, if you're only playing one route, it may not take you that long to read. Unfortunately, that is a problem with writing IFs, it feels like a lot when you're writing it but then when you go to play it...

On the plus side, there's many different routes you can try! I'd highly recommend using multiple saves to check out other options.

Regardless, I thank you all for your patience and support, and hope you enjoy it!

Hey there! Can you let me know if you restarted the game? I think it might be because you continued with old saves—they won't work because instead of coding "<<set $romanceroute to "">>" in chap 2, I wrote it like this: "<<set $romanceroute == "">>". That's why if you continue with the old saves, it won't work.

If you did restart the game from the prologue or chap 3, then I'll need to look more into it!

ATTENTION: I have the bugs fixed but didn't upload the new version yet because I don't know if it will mess up your saves.

Therefore, feel free to finish your playthroughs first. The update will remove reported typos and bugs, that might have caused skipped scenes and non-triggered stats.

IMPORTANT!

I changed the shopping scenes so that you can only buy 1 daily outfit per destination (luxe or 2nd hand). The party outfits will be offered for purchase a bit later. It helps with cleaning up the code (ugh I am such a noob still ngl) and allows me to insert it in a scene with company...yk, going shopping for a special night out. As a tiny apology I will add more outfit choices once the party outfits can be bought.

Sorry for the trouble.

Faulttale rambling:

Error has been imprisoned in Trash Mountain, a dump located under the main city thats collected so much trash it’s nearly as big as the city itself. Breaking his most recent truce with ink, it was decided he couldn’t be trusted (Not that Ink was the one to make the decision.) He was tied up with his own strings and now serves a life sentence in solitude.

Trash Mountain is where every mistake goes by default. Not just garbage put there by the city, but refuse from every universe to exist, including deleted characters. This includes deleted characters. If a characters coding is deleted from their universe, they can’t just disappear, whats leftover is put in the trash, usually never to be seen again.

sometimes they end up in the same area, and get to talk to each other rather than being in isolation for the rest of their lives, like error and coda.

Not every character ends up looking all glitchy like Coda does but since their code was corrupted long before they were deleted, plus their au was all fucked up in the first place, things didn’t go well, so they get to match with their best friend.
