I don't think about my ocd itself a lot because it's so ingrained into my daily routine but it is really funny to me. I live by a completely different set of rules to the average person and I always forget that no one else knows the rules. When I see someone break them it's a jumpscare

#personally im a very big magical thinker. i do fully believe that there is something out there monitoring my every move ready to punish or #praise me depending on how well i follow the rules #and it can also read my thoughts #and its like. my life mission to figure out all the rules. in kind of a religious sort of way #i have to avoid the number 3 at all costs and anything divisible by 3 if its a body symmetry thing. because it is the evil number #IF i encounter the number by accident i have to close my eyes for 5 seconds no matter what.. whatever reprecussions i face from that are my #own fault (crossing the street giving a presentation etc)#i also have to recite like. this 5-7 minute speech ive been slowly building over the course of 10 years every night #also i need to have equal body sensations at all times. like if i scratch an itch on my left arm i have to scratch the same spot on my right #or if i stub my left toe i have to stub my right toe with equal force #basically i behave unnaturally in public ..#sorry for rambling but i find this stuff interesting.. i like hearing about other peoples experiences living with ocd

#rant time (in a good way):#my little sister has made some new friends via public school #and they're fandom people!#so she went to thunderbolts with them and is planning to see fantastic four and superman #and i think they introduced her to kpop demon hunters which she then introduced us to #plus she's watching arcane thanks to them #and it's just. SO interesting #because a lot of that stuff she would never check out on her own/with us #don't know why. maybe it's just not her jam?#but she's watching it and really liking it now #and you'd think i'd be offended that she's finding this with her friends and not her family but i'm not because i have SO been there #with pacific rim and love and monsters and phineas and ferb #they're all things i never would have watched on my own but my friends introduced me to it! and because of them i LOVED it!!#and even if i would have liked it if i'd found it individually my friends showed me it. ya know? and that feeling is just great #because i'll always think of laughingphoenixleader when i hear a ben rector song #or christian-latte-anon during pacific rim #or undying-lilies while watching the bad batch or when i see six crimson cranes #or magpie-trove for love and monsters #and just. a hundred other things and people and i just love the way love and stories work hand in hand #i love this thing because i loved the person first. and now my little sister is getting that #and she's getting the experience of trying something she might normally shy away from or think is weird but because her friends love it #she'll try it! and it's good! that feeling is UNMATCHED IDK GUYS I JUST LIKE IT A LOT #anyways if you've ever suggested a thing to me. just know i think of you every time i see it or read it or hear it #or even think of it. the people i love and the things i love are inextricably linked #okay rant over!

i really do like that HoH steve is such a widespread headcanon and i do like seeing posts about, like i need to be clear i love seeing these posts before i continue.

but i also need to be to say that in my experience, i hate wearing my hearing aids. they suck. they drain so much of my energy, and sometimes they make it worse when i get a migraine or overstimulated. wearing hearing aids also doesnt fix my hearing loss, i still can't understand what is being spoken to me very well. i still rely on lip reading and folks being patient enough to repeat themselves. my hearing aids still pick up background noises up, air conditioning is louder than people, i cant hear whispers, unless you get right next to the hearing aids but i'd probably gag if you did bc it sounds disgusting.

idk this is more of a rant than anything and i am not targeting any specific post or fic, this is more about my personal experience with hearing aids...

#ive had hearing aids for 8/9 years now. i avoid wearing them unless im in public #but even then i get worn out or overwhelmed and take them out #deaf steve harrington #stranger things #not trying to proofread this bc it's just rambling
