drayton is even funnier as a character now that i’m familiar with gen 5. you’re telling me this dude is from opelucid city where his grandfather is the mayor, and they got their entire city frozen solid by a giant ice beam *as a warning shot* to grandpa drayden, jeopardizing if not ending countless lives… and drayton is stationed in the polar biome at blueberry academy. the frozen area of the terarium (that quotes opelucid city’s music!). and he’s like ‘haha yeah i know it’s ironic for a dragon-type trainer to like the cold’ i mean yeah man but more specifically it’s ironic for YOU
