"you don't have one of those punchable faces, so you should appreciate that about yourself." he also just didn't see the point in attacking anyone on the island. weren't they all on the same side? or so he thought.

"ahh, now it all does make sense." he could sympathize with being the only one, so there was a silent nod from his side. "it doesn't get much easier than, being the only one, does it?" on an island so big, he thought they weren't going to need to worry about that. "i'm glad that you're having fun at least."

"i appreciate your restraint." forest laughs softly, confident that he could handle himself against, well, almost anyone here. still, he'd rather not engage in combat with any of his peers, he wasn't the type to make a fool of himself.

"amateratsu." he throws his head back, sighing as he gives himself a moment to just... relax, soak in the relative peace of their current location. "i'm the only representative we've got as of now," it was starting to feel foreboding, like something bad was coming. "but i'm enjoying it. it can be fun."

was it his fault that he knew he was attractive? no. was it his fault that he used it to his advantage? well, partially yes. cepos wasn't going to hold back if flirting got him what he wanted. especially if it was respect from his new team. including the other hot ones.

“already willing to fight for me? you barely even know me.” the smirk never left cepos' face. it was good to know that forest was willing to raise his sword for him. “for now, this simple conversation is enough to satisfy me.” who knew for how long though. “well you saw me jumping around, i'm very agile. also i have sharp claws that can do some mean damage.”

it was a beat of a weakness, pretty men. while he wwasn't the type to blindly simp for someone, he was most definitely susceptible to influence if they were pretty; cepos had it in spades, and that little trick with the whip didn't hurt his chances at all.

"mm, i'll keep an eye out for him. i can kick his ass for you." he grins, trailing along like a leashed puppy. "but hey, if my presence helps distract you, i'm happy to help too." humming softly, he takes a closer stride beside the son of bastet. "so that whip thing, you know any other tricks?"

Cimorene, the princess who refuses to be proper, is back--but where is Kazul the dragon? That's what Cimorene is determined to find out.

Luckily--or perhaps not-so-luckily--she's got help: Mendenbar, the not-very-kingly King of the Enchanted Forest, has joined her in her quest. So with the aid of a broken-down magic carpet, a leaky magical sword, and a few buckets of soapy lemon water, they set off across the Enchanted Forest to tackle the dragon-napping and save the King of the Dragons.

Calling All Dragons (1993)

A Princess's work is never done--not even when she becomes a queen!

Princess Cimorene is now Queen Cimorene ... and she's faced with her first queenly crisis -- the Enchanted Forest is threatened with complete destruction!

Those wizards are back -- and they've become very smart. (Sort of.) They've figured out a way to take over the forest once and for all ... and what they have planned isn't pretty.

With a little help from Kazul the dragon king, Morwen the witch, Telemain the magician, two cats, and a blue, flying donkey-rabbit named -- what else? -- Killer, Cimorene might just be able to stop them.

And some people think that being a queen is easy.

Talking to Dragons (1985, revised 1995)

That's what Daystar's mother taught him...and it's a very wise lesson--one that might just help him after his mom hands him a magic sword and kicks him out of the house. Especially because his house sits on the edge of the Enchanted Forest and his mother is Queen Cimorene.

But the tricky part is figuring out what he's supposed to do with the magic sword. Where is he supposed to go? And why does everyone he meets seem to know who he is?

It's going to take a particularly hotheaded fire-witch, a very verbose lizard, and a badly behaved baby dragon to help him figure it all out.

And those good manners certainly won't hurt!

Nico couldn't help but grin proudly at the words of praise - at least he was taking them as such. Athleticism had never been his strong suit, but what he lacked in strength or physical constitution, he made up for in nimbleness and technique, which probably helped more with tennis than some other sports. "You're great at this!", he commented, just as much a compliment as it was just a genuine observation.

"Well, I could use a breather, I'll admit", he chuckled, watching the other pour the water on his face. Admittedly feeling a bit thirsty, Nico reached for his own bottle, taking a deep sip until he also doused his face some, sighing at the refreshing feeling. "Do you play often? You seem to be in amazing shape", he mused.

"not half bad, rookie." forest spins the tennis racket in his hand, a grin playing at his lips. extracurriculars like tennis were commonplace for forest growing up; he never intended to go pro, but he liked to think he was good at everything.

"if i'm wearing you out, you're welcome to take a break." they'd been on the field for a while, they could stand a break. the son of amateratsu reaches for his water bottle dousing his face with it.
