We just witnessed a fucking historical moment. Jester Lavorre really looked at all her friends who were clearly willing to do extremely distressing things to themselves, walked into a hag hut, set everything up for the happy go lucky character to suffer a devastating loss, shared a cupcake, wiped her memory, laughed it all off, and left.

The entire top table is in love with her and so is a random hag in the woods and also so is EVERYONE IN THE CRITTER FANDOM.

Watching Jester's entire demeanor change before walking into the hag's house was amazing. She was panicky and upset and angry before going in. She rolls up her sleeves, gearing up for a fight. And then you can just see her happy mask slam into place. Jester often uses her happiness as a performance, but usually the effect is subtler, or you can see her struggling to maintain it. And usually she's using it conceal how she's feeling (and often to try to convince herself she's doing better than she is), rather than to conceal her intentions. Though Jester deals in trickery, I think this is one of the most straightforward bits of deliberate deception we've seen her pull off. It was a sight to behold.
