#cake decorting

I have always been intrigued by cake decorating. I have very little spare money or space to work in, in both kitchen and fridge. How would you suggest I start exploring, short of too much time on YouTube?

You bet! Great question and I'm sympathetic. Here are a few thoughts and I hope it's helpful:

If it's purely the decorating aspect you wish to work on, then don't bake from scratch. Buy a mix and either make a cake, or cupcakes to start. [About $3 a box]

If you're already a baker and know you could whip out a batch of cupcakes or cake, then by all means go for it. I would do a six inch cake if practicing decor. Cupcakes are an easy practice surface too.

But. If it's just piping technique, you could start there and buy a simple set at a craft store or the grocery store. You can practice piping on a cutting board or even a metal cake tin without making the cake. See what each tip does and play with it.

I use pinterest to save cakes I think are beautiful and then study the decor in the picture. Tumblr is helpful too if you type in cake decorating, buttercream, piping, etc.

Use a homemade buttercream. I don't think store buttercream pipes very nicely. You want to control the butter amount. If it pains you to think of wasting butter for practice, you could just whip up a frosting with Crisco [or the equivalent] and powdered sugar [which, let's be honest, is what most store bought cakes are doing. -___- }

If you don't have a kitchenaid or equivalent, a hand mixer works. The hot tip here is to whip your butter [room temperature] all by itself for about ten minutes BEFORE adding powdered sugar and flavor. It makes it lovely and light. Crisco can just be whipped with powdered sugar immediately.

I practice flowers on parchment paper and then chill them so I can more easily transfer them to the cake or cupcake. Cupcakes can serve as a handy flower piping base as is, but you might want to practice on something else before directly applying the piping to the cupcake.

Yeeeeeeeh!!! :D  Alright idk how to organise this so bear with me on this one XD

First, sometimes I like to go watch on YouTube & Insta people cooking old recipes or "traditionally" like they would do in the 1800s. It's very interesting and allow me to have tons of inspiration and imagine with more accuracy the daily life they could have in bb universe.

2nd thing: Both my parents cook quite well and my grandma too. So I guess I got inspired from this as well

So now, cooking headcanons!

So yeah I hc Gehrman can cook quite well. I mean he's not a chief and I don't think he can do very complicated and precise things. But you know, old and simple grandmas recipes would be his thing! And if you compared to the rest of the Byrgenwerth / old hunter squad he can do a way better job than most of them XD 

Dishes like meats&vegetables, pies, cake,pudding, biscuits, eggs, soup, sandwiches, gratin, bread etc everything link with very traditional, cheap and countryside meals for the era. 

He could just make beef stew for an entire week from the same pot and that wouldn't bother him XD 

Probably got most of the recipes from his mom and grandmas

He's very good at making tea and coffee and knows dozens of infusions to treat severals conditions.

Maybe he can do a few liquors or hydromel/mead.

And of course  he can prepare and cook every prey animals very well.

Somehow he have the patience to teach some of those to his dear friends… even if he’s really trying to not make fun of them at times XD

As for Maria now:

Well being a noble girl she wasn't really taught to cook and make usual meals. Still, that didn’t stop her and her cousins to go get a few pastry in the kitchen when they were kids xD but yeah girl couldn’t cook while younger and her first attempts weren’t really a success 😓 and even after learning she can still almost burned down things if she tried really unusual new things XD

She does know a lot of nobles/aristocratic dishes depending on the regions. Can be useful but she can’t really reproduce the recipes herself.

She has tastes a bit different from her peers too. I mean she like the same specialities other would consider « odds » but when it’s the 5th time in a row you get a rare steak she would gladly just have a salad XD (save her lol)

I guess she actually did know how to skin prey animals and prepare some of them (but before more complex cooking). And I guess she did know how to decorticate lobster and crab well! 

And actually she could cook ramen/noodles when she arrived at Byrgenwerth too (+tea) but that’s mostly it. She ain’t different from modern college students XD

When she went to the East for 6 months/1y she did learn a few recipe and taught Gehrman some of them as well. (Noodles, rice, tuna etc)

During her Byrgenwerth years, but also afterward when she went hunting and training with Gehrman he taught her how to make a few recipes. Especially the ones with just a firecamp during their camping trips (cooking rabbits, pheasant etc Maria became quite the pro at this!). Smt they went to those trips & training with others hunters, just Ludwig or just the 2 of them. That’s others very funny hcs XD. But it's for another time X)

Then during all the years they know each others he taught her how to cook and bake many other dishes! Taught her the tea infusions as well.

So afterwards, even if Maria probably lack motivation to make good food for herself (it’s not like she need much complex things to survive too lol) she got very good at making food for others. Collectively with the help of her fellow hunters or even when she helped the healing church (before research hall, in parallel with hunting, I hc that she helped HC with medical care for their patients, helped children with schooling or even make some meal for the ones in needs. Because that’s what a church is suppose to do right?? And idk if I ever mentioned it but that’s how I hc she meet and become friends with Adeline! The church helped her when she really needed and then she decided to devoted herself to it in return (to simplify very quickly).

So for the AU now, when everyone is fine and happy and alive XD and these two get together. Well, they both cook quite well. I mean Gehrman got more time to practice with a full kitchen so he became even better! Maria is not as good as him but can still make very decent meals! But in truth I guess she prefer to bring back food and prepare them (like cutting things, she’s a pro at it!) and he’s in charge of the actual cooking and baking. So yeah BRO IS A HOUSEWIFE FOR REAL 🤣 But yeah dw she never really burnt down the kitchen. It’s just a few flames with alcohol or grease. It’s fine😅 But they share tasks most of the time I suppose. And they have a garden as well. And they like to go hunt with their lil dog too. (Lil guy is like 1 foot tall and think he’s as fierce as wolfhound or smt XD they are proud of him).

Also not specifically related to them but here’s a few others funny hcs I wanted to share:

Thanks god the healing church & hunters got scholars to tell them which mushrooms & plants are edible at times XD (I mean Gehrman, Maria and Laurence & co know some)

I guess Mico & Rom tried at least once to make the gang eat cactus and scorpions when they were at Loran.

Dores can either cook something alright or do the worst thing ever x-x there’s no in-between XD she made also liquors. (She made sick everyone who tried her first attempt at snake liquors. Laurence almost died lmao but she got better afterwards I swear.) Ah yes wtf am I talking about right? Well one day I saw a bottle of alcohol where there was a dead snake inside ok?? But that wasn’t snake wine I think. Yes that’s real. No do not ask me why, idk. So yeah I imagined that's a logical thing Dores would try.

Laurence might be really annoying about food when he has the choice. Bro have some taste you see. But he’s too busy too cook you see, and depends on others. He likes Gehrman’s cooking a lot. Most of the time.

And I guess Ludwig learn a few recipes from Gehrman as well!

During their years at Byrgenwerth, Damian is probably the 2nd most responsible person at cooking in the team.

With the old hunters I have hcs where they go out of town for a few missions. Except when they are kinda lost in the forest but when they are in towns and villages, they don’t really have time to cook and rely on Inn, tavern etc. But I just imagine smt so funny…. Like Gehrman would ask some hunter to help him make bread and the poor lad never make bread before XD « WDYM you mother never taught you to make bread?! » «😓» 

Oh boy ok last one. When they came back from the fishing hamlet… (idk if they went straight to Byrgenwerth or a tavern or smt) but someone got the very smart idea to make them white sea fish for their next meal💀Like you can expect almost no one managed to eat it and almost everyone got sick. Laurence and Gehrman were so mad at this mistake while everyone else was either disgusted or sick.

To conclude, here’s a few images of what kitchen used to look like in the XIX century.

They either cooked with the fireplace & a rack or a bit later / in huge kitchen with a cast iron oven (the ancestor of our stove). You might maybe be familiar with it like I am, Crow.

For my hcs I think they used both + firecamps 

(I’m sure I’d saved other pictures months ago at the same time as bedrooms and bathrooms refs for my fic but I cannot find them?! So I quickly found those on the internet+ other more perso ones)

Also funny anecdote but in addition to our current electric utilities my grandparents do have a cast iron oven and my grandma cook stuff with it too! They also have (and sell) tons of copper cookware too. They were used a lot at the time and it’s still the case in some really high quality restaurants and establishments. How the heat diffused in it is a bit different from our modern ones. I guess many recipes were creates along with those at the time! Look how beautiful they are!

Fan Stand/Character

Jade Kishibe (Brando)- Jade is the daughter of Dio Brando and older sister of Giorno Giovanna, she runs a cafe/bakery in Moriah and that's where she meets Rohan Kishibe. She ends up befriending him and helping him back on his feet and later allowing him to move in with her. She is a stand user her stands name is Hell's Gates, when she is angered her stand makes an appearance often trapping her tormentor in a hell like room until she calls off the stand. Her stand can also make the tormentor re live painful past memories to give them a taste of their own medicine, Jade's Stand Hell's Gates paired with Rohan's stand Heaven's Door creates a memory room that allows the tormentor to chose wheather or not to have those memories erased or rewritten, though for this to work Jade must ask Rohan to activate his stand right as her's is activated and she can activate it by calling it out like the others do, her anger often just triggers it to automaticly appear, Rohan later helps her control that anger which then allows her to call her stand out like a user would normally do. Rohan and Jade later end up getting married and have three children, all are Stand Users as well.

Jotaro Kishibe- Son of Rohan Kishibe- His stand's name is Inkmaster and looks that a humanoid squid, it can shoot out ink to blind the attacker and grab a hold of people with its tentacle like appendages. Jotaro is an artist much like his father and often gets himself into trouble. Jotaro draws Manga like his father does and ends up getting published in his late teens.

Gohan Kishibe- Son of Rohan Kishbe- His stand's name is Magna and he can use the power of magnetism to pull or push metal objects,the boots he wears have metal soles that allow him to use his stands power to walk on walls and ceilings provided the wall/ceiling has metal in it if not he can create metal foot prints to walk on so he can hide anywhere and ambush who ever he is after.

Giavanna Kishibe-Daughter of Rohan Kishibe. She is named by changing a few letters in her Uncle Giorno's last name and sometimes goes by Gia or Gina to avoid getting confused with her Aunt Gia. She gets talents from both her parents as she loves to bake and draw, she uses her artistic talent to decorate cakes in her mom's bakery. She is a stand user and her stand's name is Strawberry Shortcake,(Strawberry Shotcake was a child hood favorite cartoon and cake of mine,lol still love both of them to this day) her stand helps her with her baking projects and uses frosting, sprinkles and other baking decortations as weapons. Strawberry Shortcake looks like a little doughy doll with a strawberry for a hat. Her stand can also trap enimes in a sticky doughy trap, and use the dough to bound the target though it's not ediable and tastes horrible to keep the trapped enemy from eating thier way out. Giavanna looks like her mother but has her father's personality and temper which get her into trouble, her father's temper is better then her mother's temper. She also has her hair styled like her fathers and wears either a pink or purple headband that matches his green. blue or red one that he's seen wearing and she wears earrings and clothes like her father.

Kyra- she is a student who picks on people and when Layla and Narancia put a stop to it they learn about her rough home life and take her in, she is a stand her user, her stands name is Master Blaster and attacks using laser beams. She ends up dating Josuke and getting into all kinds of trouble with him, they actually get into trouble and need Rohan to bail them out using Heaven's Door.

Layla Ghirga (Myers) Layla meets Narancia by saving his ass with her stand Racer X, Racer X looks like a R.C car and can track down people with their heat signature, she can also find dead bodies via the blue coloring something cold gives off as the blue will be human shaped on her radar screen which looks like a controller used to control said car. Racer X also has voice Commands, one being Iron Maiden which turns into a suit much like Iron Man's suit and covers the person she commands it to. She uses her stand to protect Narancia and track Diavolo down so Giorno can go after him, she joins Passione under Giorno's rule and remains with Narancia, they end up married and have children.

Rosalina Ghirga- Daughter of Narancia, she is his first born daughter and to prove he was a better father than his own, he loved and cared for his daughter, doing whatever he could and taking missions from Giorno to get money to put aside for his daughter. Rosalina is much like her father and does have a temper, she gains her stand Morticia when she was preschool aged, Morticia is a huge eel like thing that began small and grew with Rosalina, (Think Echos and Tusk how they have stages) Morticia's attacks are electric based and allow Rosalina to climb on power lines without getting electrocuted.

Kimmi Ghriga- Daughter of Narancia, her stands name is Starlight and uses light based attacks the first time her stand presented itself is when she and Rui Doppio met and got into a fight, she won the fight by blinding him and nailing him with a low blow, turns out Rui is on their side and was sent to find Giorno.

Maya Ghriga- Twin sister of Kimmi and daughter of Narancia, her stands name is Booma and if you guessed it was an explosive type of stand you guessed right, it uses exploding attacks, the first time she used her stand, she accidently blew a hole in the wall in which was fixed. when she named her stand Booma, Narancia remarked that she was little weirdo but she was his little weirdo and that he loved her very much.

Mikey Ghriga-Son of Narancia. his stand's name is Lil Rock and is huge a rock like Golem that likes to rock and roll and will steamroll anyone foolish enough to get in the way the first time his stand showed itself is when Mista pissed him off and he attacked him, thankfully Misty was near by and stopped the attack.

Misty Mista (Bucciarati) Misty is the younger sister of Bruno Bucciarati and showed up at the right time, her stands name is Tyrant and he can either heal you or kill you, her stand is male as it is Bruno's belief that their father was reincarnated as Tyrant in order to keep her safe and make up for his past mistakes. Tyrant also has a rather unique third ability as he can go in to the afterlife and retrieve your soul giving you the choice to cross over or be given a second chance at life. When she encounters Giorno he asks her if she's stand user and can she heal and when she answers yes, he gives her orders and she follows them no questions asked and thanks to her a few people get a second chance at life, this later gives her stand another unique ability. This ability causes her stand to evolve and gives it the ability to borrow the powers of other stands. She marries Mista and has two children with him. She also becomes Capo under Giorno's lead.

Daisy Mae Mista- Daughter of Guido Mista, her stand's name is Quake Wyrm a huge dragon like stand that tunnels under the ground and can create earthquakes, her stand can also be used to lift people out holes/areas they can't get out of. Daisy looks and acts more like her dad then her mom and is rather tomboyish, like her dad she is afraid of the number 4. She has her father's temper which lands her in hot water many times.

Guido Mista Jr- Son of Guido Mista. His stand's name is Kablooey and they look like little grenades, he has a phrase that's makes them explode and that phrase is detonate. They regenerate so Mista Jr can not die, unless all of them are blown up at once, they are numbered and the number is said along with detonate so the right one explodes He is not afraid of the number 4, so all for of his little grenades are labeled right and he has 7 of them. Mista jr looks and acts more like his mom then his dad but does have his dad's temper.

Gabby Abbacchio (Lionheart)- Her stand's name is Two-Face and has the ability to change it users gender, which is how Gabby and Abbacchio meet. She is disguised as a male and when Abbacchio goes to punch her, she undoes the ability revealing that she is a female and he ends up hitting her in the breasts much to his embarrassment. She reveals that she is hunting for Risotto Nero as she blames him for the death of her twin brother, when it's revealed that he tried to help her brother, she forgives him. Her and Abbacchio ended up married with a child. Both Abbacchio and Risotto think her stand is her brother reincarnated so he can protect and watch over her.

Gabe Abbacchio- Son of Leone Abbacchio, his stand's name is Catastrophe and looks like a cross between Moody Jazz and Killer Queen (Yoshikage Kira's stand and Killer Queen sounds so much better then Deadly Queen), his stand has blades on his arms which can be used as weapons and his stand can predict where a movement is coming from and it can cause a catastrophe to happen hence its name.

Treena Horse- She is the daughter of Hol Horse and ends up helping out Bucciarati and Fugo when they get attacked, her stands name is Dollface and it can switch places with a person and take on that persons appearance to fool who ever had a hold of them in the first place and when it's hit in the stomach it explodes, Treena calls it her Bye Bye Bomb, no worries as Dollface reforms herself and runs back to her owner. She ends up marrying Bruno and having a son with him.

Leone Bucciarati- son of Bruno Bucciarati. His stands name is Leatherface and has chainsaws for arms, he acts like his father but looks like his mother and gets into trouble with his grandfather Hol Horse for his behavior at one time.

Rochelle Nero- her stand is a huge snake named Titanoboa, her stand can be used as a shield or it can swallow people and spit them out on command. She ends up with Risotto and marries him. they have a son together. Rochelle is known to be soft spoken until you piss her off then watch out. She is very protective of friends and family and her stand is used to shield people from a sludge wave attack.

Leo Nero- Son of Risotto Nero, his stands name is Blade and uses blades to attack, he can also mess with the iron in your blood so watch out.

Fiona Nero- she is the younger sister of Risotto Nero and is happy when she is reunited with him. her stands name is Megalodon (it has a humanoid shark like appearance) and has capsules behind its teeth that when it bites you and breaks your skin it releases a virus into your bloodstream that mutates you. She carries nunchucks with hollow handles, as the handles open to reveal vials of an antidote to stop the mutation. Her and Fugo make a deadly combination in battle. Her stand can also inhale and aborb poisonous gases and liquids to protect near by living objects such as plants, animals and humans, Fugo's Purple Haze later learns this ability as well so then both stands can be used as a filter against anyone whose stand can relase something toxic into the air, ground or water.

Rengoku Fugo- Son of Fugo, like his father he has anger issues and gets into trouble because of it. he also has a very high IQ so don't let him fool you when he plays dumb. His stands name is Jindrax and uses firebased attacks. Though its fingers hide needles filled with a deadly poison, he does carry antidote for that poison you just need to get him to give it to you. (He is named after a character i love from Demon Slayer and his stand is named after a villian from Power Rangers Wild Force,lol)

Sandy Myers- She is the mother of Layla and real piece of work, she abuses her daughter and puts the blame on Layla's father who Narancia later helps Layla track down. Sandy is a stand user, her stands name is Batso a bat like creature who can unleash a super sonic screech that can confuse who ever hears it. She gets a beat down by Giorno and the gang after she tries to kill Layla while she is pregnant with Rosalina.

Gia Deville-She is a vampire and meets Giorno on a night time mission , they become inseparable pretty much after that. Her stand's name is Temptress, her stand can lure people to them and can purify blood as Gia feeds on Blood. Her stand can also get rid of bodies so she can hide evidence if you want to put it that way,lol (I have it in my fanfic that Giorno is vampire and feeds on blood) They marry and have two kids. Her stand can also let out a banshee like ear splitting scream that paralyzes who ever hears it. Her mother is another stand user, Deena, the one that is just as insane as Diavolo, how ever she never ever aknowledges Diavolo as her Step-Father, she sees Doppio as a father figure since he helps her and Giorno later as he finds a way for her and Girono both to be able to be in the light or what is called a daywalker. She does aknowledge that Doppio used to share a body with Diavolo, but she knows he's his own person now and is not afraid to talk to him, so yeah her mother screwed up royally by abandoning her, her real father is unknown.

Josephina Giovanna- Daughter of Giorno Giovanna, her stands name is the Queen of Hearts and she can litterly behead someone using her stands attacks. Josephina goes by the name Josie when she gets older, she looks and acts like her father and is a sweetheart as well, willing to help anyone in need.

Giovanni Giovanna- Son of Giorno Giovanna, his stand is named the Ace of Spades which if used as a tarot card is the death card...so uh yeah his stand is deadly. He's got quite temper and is quick to anger. Giorno has worked with him to no avail, just avoid pissing him off and you'll be fine.

Cecilia Skyla Rosewood - she goes by her middle name Skyla, she is Misty's mother. Her stands name is Gremlina and has the ability to see what is called Soul Threads, she can tell if you have more than one personality. She severs the threads between Doppio and Diavolo giving Doppio a life of his own, leaving Diavolo to die though someone else has others ideas for him. Misty heals Doppio to make his body stronger thus giving him the chance to thrive. Doppio ends up marrying Skyla and having a son with her. He cares about Trish and reconnects with her.

Rui Doppio- son of Vinegar Doppio (Why the hell did they name his Vinegar?) and his stands name is Doppleganger, it can turn itself into its user to confuse the attacker, his stand can also mess with time and allow its user and people who are around its user to move freely. (He's named after the spider demon from Demon Slayer) He's sweet and kind, make him mad and you will get your ass kicked. He tries to help people when they need it. He's very protective of those that are close to him and he sometimes comes off as crazy though he has no mental illness. Since his mother is Misty's mom is makes him her step-brother but they see eachother as brother and sister rather then step siblings. He also finds out about his step sister Trish and with Girono's help gets to know her and they get along just fine and see each other as siblings much like he and Misty do.

Dexter Rogers- Misty's abusive and sick in the head step-father, his stand's name is Toxic Sludge and is very deadly and has three attacks, Mista survived the sludge wave attack even though he swallowed it. his stand makes Chiccoletta's stand look like a pussycat (I think his stands name is Green Day, and I may have his name spelled wrong) Doppio and his son Rui team up with Misty and Mista to take Dexter down.

Deena Deville- she just as insane as Diavolo which is why she stole his body and revived him using her stand Stitches, her stands can take body parts and stitch them into another to heal them, though she steals er borrows the body parts. At one point Doppio nearly vomits at the thought of Diavolo reproducing with Deena whose a vampire and grants him immortality by biting him and turning him into a vampire. Rui does ask why he has the same DNA as Diavolo and Doppio tells him they were once the same person, but that he Doppio is Rui's real father and that he has nothing to worry about. She is Gia's bith mom but she abandoned her when she got old enough to take care of herself, Gia hates her with a passion and refuses to aknowledge Diavolo as her step-dad.

Yoshikage Kira jr-yes the sandwich loving, toe and fingernail collecting, disembodied hand carrying serial killer had a kid! his stand's name is Louie Kaboom and much like his father, it makes bombs that he uses to kill people with(He almost kills himself with one of his attacks, his partner Julian finds it with his stand and saves his backside from blowing up). He is wanted by Passione. (His stand is named after a villian from Power Rangers Zeo,lol)

Julian- Julian is Kira jr's partner in crime and has stand called X-Ray Rex it's a little dinosaur like thing with swirly eyes that can seen inside of you showing its user your vital points, like your heart, arteries, a baby growing inside of you etc. It also stopped Kira Jr from unaliving himself with a misplaced bomb.

hello! im a new anon and was wondering what about a gender-neutral child reader with the cookies of darkness ( it would be self away )

kinda like all their friends only like the good cookies but they like the evil ones and they end up in a game ( the evil cookies had heard what the reader said ) and then all of sudden they raid the kingdom with the baker who's on the side of the evil cookies? ( the reader is still a child so their kind of learning how to be evil or something? )

also, bonus points if like we get little sectors of the evil cookies teaching Y/n things about their skill ;-; also more bonus points if the reader has a dog that also gets teleported into the game

After an hour or so, I got off the game to take a break. I decided to go play with my dog, we went outside to play fetch. After some time i wasnt feeling well and decided to go back inside for a nap. You layed on the couch with your dog and fell asleep, then woke up in a whole new world.

The cookies of darkness and just outside of the kingdom gates. The look for the roads to be clear, then swiftly enter. They make there way to the Palace. They stay just out of sight of the guards.

Licorice and pomegranate went up the stairs, it was easy to find your room. The door is the biggest and decortated with your favorite things. They opened the door, and saw you and your dog asleep.

“Alright I’ll get baker-” Pomegranate started.

“What! I should get them!” Licorice began to yell.

Then they heard shuffling in the room next door.

“You complete idiot, one of the ancients heard us! how are we gonna get out of this!”Pomegranate whisper yelled.

You all ended up out the palace, there are no guard around.

She made him want to do all the romantic cheesy things that he used to hate, he really had a soft spot for her and he hoped that she wasn’t too upset about his distant behaviour.

You had a great day so far, Stella treated you to a nice lunch and you went shopping with Terra afterwards. Everyone had been so lovely but it still felt strange to you that Riven hadn’t said anything, not even a simple happy birthday. Even Sky had congratulated you when he ran into you after your shopping spree, you felt a little sad that your boyfriend forgot about it, but the girls had been so great that you couldn’t really dwell on it.

You returned back to your room ‘’Hey y/n’’ Riven was sitting on your bed. He scared the living shit out of you ‘’Riven! a/n: a surprise party for Chan goes a bit wrong

“that is possibly the worst idea I’ve ever heard” Han scoffed at the brunette hiding next to him. 

“You know what’s funny,” he retorted. “We’re usually the ones saying that about your ideas.” 

The blonde behind both of them smacked them gently behind the head. “This is no time for your brokering. Ang’s idea is good enough.” 

There’s an 8/10 chance Chan will fall for the bait but it’s a big enough chance. It was the eldest birthday a week ago and everyone agreed to act as if they had forgotten. Chan being who he is never brought it up. Everyone expected this. What they didn’t expect is exactly how much it hurt him. 

Everything went on day by day. They had planned a surprise party exactly one week after his birthday when their schedule was finally empty. But the morning of the party, Chan was supposed to go to the gym at 5, which would give everyone enough time to set everything up at his house. Although he did walk outside, he only made it to his car when he turned back around and laid himself on his couch and played Lilo and Stich. 

Han, Hyunjin, and Lino were already inside with a couple of the decorations but quickly hide behind the kitchen counter when they heard his voice trying to unlock the front door. 

They slowly shuffled to the table during the shooting scenes in case Chan got hungry. For a few minutes, it was quiet and then they heard muffled cries. Hyunjin quietly rose but could only see part of the screen. Lilo had just thrown her doll to the floor and quickly ran back to hold it. Did he feel as lonely as her? 

They all looked at eachother with the same expressions. Though they meant well, they had fucked up. The plan now was to have Felix call Chan and ask him to come each with him. They quickly sent Yongbok a text and told them to add that he felt sad. Because though it pained them to know it, Chan would push everything away for them. 

After a few mintues, the man turned off the television and wipped his tears. Before walking out he made sure to have complelety stop crying. 

The 3 sighed in relief and got to work decorting again. Hyunjin sent a text to Hannah about when they would video call. Han gave changbin and I.N the text to start brining the rest in, including the cake Yongbok had made.

Every 20 mintues they would get a text from felix letting them know how heartbreaking it was to tell Chan he didn't really feel like talking. 

 Lee Know was in the kitchen finishing up a meal and quickly 2 hours passed when Felix messaged them saying that they were coming back. 

When they walked through the door and everyone yelled 'happy birthday' , including his parents and siblings on the televsion screen, the man fell to his knees and began crying. they all went to hug their leader and let him take his time. They apologized multiple times and explained that they wanted to wait for a rest day so they could fully enjoy the day and him being born. 

He didn't stop crying until it was time for the gifts and even then he would start sobbing. Part of him hated himself for ever thinking they didn't care but the other part was just so convincing the past week that he felt so much relief that they were all here now. 

Lee Know's gift was his favorite. He had given him a bunny. Not one he can have in his room but donated money in Chan's name to a bunny tertiary. Chan got to them it and he wrote Stich. and like the bunny and the character, he thought about how they all have a home in the end. And it might not be perfect but it's still good.

I absolutely love winters. It’s my favourite season!

Travelling becomes really hard. Waking up and going to school at 6 in the morning used to be painful since it was so cold. I haven’t faced this issue considering my entire school year was online, but the walk to the bus stop in the cold wind has tramustised me forever.

4th December - What is an unpopular opinion that you have about winter? 

i don’t know actually, maybe i’ll come back and asnwer this.

5th December - Are you usually busy during winter?

Always. I’m in my final year of school and we’re having mock exams in Jan. My winter break is a prep leave in disguise. We haven’t had a proper winter break since the 9th grade. 

6th December - Do you get a break from school/uni/work during winter?

Not at all, as kids we were given lots of homework (i always did in the last few days though) and now i study for my exams which start from 5th Jan.

7th December - How do you stay motivated during winter?

I stay away from my bed. Once i’m in my bed then i know i won’t do anything else. i’ve started mapping out my work to make sure i know what i need to do when. Having structure really helps. 

8th December - When should people start preparing for, decorating and celebrating Christmas? 

Whenever they feel like!! People have very diffferent schedules and only have certain days where they have enough time. So preparing and decorting should take place when one knows they’ll enjoy as well. 

9th December - What do you usually do during the holidays?

I normally sleep when i have days off. I like watching kdramas and catching up on NCT’s never ending content. I’m trying to learn christmas songs but can’t seem to find sheet music for it. 

10th December - What is a cherished family tradition from your childhood?

We don’t have any traditions per say but we’ve always spent christmas with someone. We watch christmas related movies and have dinner.
