Comfort or growth? Anyone who knows me knows I have a “thing” about telephones. I grew up when phones were either on the kitchen wall or Dad’s desk, with rotary dials and cords. They weren’t portable, so if the phone rang, you knew exactly where it was. There was no need to search for a misplaced receiver—phones stayed put, and their ringing never left you guessing. Simpler times, and I kind of miss them.

Think about it. When faced with difficult change, like letting go of old habits, do we step aside for comfort—or confront it to grow and improve our lives?

God’s Word: “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it (Isaiah 43:19)?” 

An Amish community once moved to Peru, tired of pulling their wagons aside for cars. Instead of confronting change, they stepped aside. It’s easier to avoid challenges that question who we are. But when it comes to improving our lives and breaking bad habits, we shouldn’t pull over. Old ways may feel safe, but like rotary phones, some things are meant to change for the better.

How I Would Fix Onix in Pokémon Black & White 2

I’m sorry but I think some of y’all don’t take male SA seriously enough. Cause I just saw a Thea and Jean post defending Thea’s comment and in the opening paragraph you get the wonderful line of “there’s no crime unless jean speaks up” . You know right well that a 16 year old being passed around for five days straight by college juniors and seniors even in 2004 was a recognizable abuse. NO MATTER WHAT THE KID HAD TO SAY ABOUT IT.

You can’t use this as a defense argument: it’s not important that jeremy believes it was statutory rape, because that accusation leads to jeans revelation that he never consented. This feels like you all just want to forget about the sexual exploitation of a minor part of the whole situation, because you know damn well that THAT did happen textually in front of Thea.

And this jewel:

1. The nerve to compare a 16 year old passed around by college students for consecutive days to high school girls having college boyfriends.

2. Once again I’m gonna be hypersensitive about some yall saying stuff that is not correct to defend Thea. “All the backliners were like 19/20” . AFTG fandom do math right callenge:

If by Jean’s junior year at EAU (2006) most of those backliners had already graduated, and it had been 2 years since Jean’s “initiation” then that makes the backliners juniors and fourth and fifth year seniors. Meaning the youngest was probably Grayson, a ~20 year old sophomore at the time and Jean was abused possibly by 23 year olds. Saying that it’s like a HS girl dating a college boy… Jesus. It’s “naive”. I think you are being naive assuming at most a four year difference between Jena and the backliners.

My point is. You all should stick to defending Thea with the very valid argument that she was brainwashed into a r*pist cult for five years and that she’s grown complacent it, and hasn’t thought to challenge their values in the years she’s been out. You don’t need to:

1. Say that she didn’t know Jean’s age.

2. That the Kevthea age gap is the same / similar as Jerejean’s (not even close).

And now with these last posts:

3. That the backliners were 19 /20

4. That statutory rape / Jean’s age doesn’t matter! (In comparison to the oh so much real r*pe that Jean didn’t tell her about.)

5. That “Thea believed what Jean wanted her to believe”. Now y’all are leaning too much into this particular argument it’s getting on my nerves. You are all acting like Jean’s lies did all the hard work and made Thea say that comment, but in reality it was 90% the fact that she is a “loyal raven till the end”. Jean lying just gave her the green light.

Stephen :I'm unlovable.

Tony: a new callenge !

Tony’s gaze was intent on him, waiting patiently for Stephen to explain what he meant.

Stephen thought he’d been quite straightforward, this won’t work, he’d told Tony when Tony had broached the subject of changing their relationship. Stephen had been waiting for and dreading the moment for weeks. I’m not someone you, anyone, can care about.

“People put up with me,” Stephen said finally. “Some even like me. But no one has—” He closed his eyes, pushing past the well-aged grief. “No one has loved me since Donna.”

Tony’s brow furrowed; Stephen could see him wanting to ask the obvious question about his parents. He didn’t. Stephen was grateful. How could he explain those words he’d never forget, slurred by his dad in a drunken haze, if that damn boy had been paying attention…

“I understand,” Tony said finally.

Despite knowing it was inevitable, Stephen’s heart still shattered at the easy way Tony had given up. Pain locked in Stephen’s throat. “I’m glad you’re being reasonable about this,” he said. “Part of me expected—” had selfishly hoped, “—you to argue.”

Tony laughed. “Stephen, nothing I say will change your mind. No point in arguing.”

Stephen flinched despite himself; he knew that, knew he wasn’t worth—

Tony reached out, caught his hand and squeezed quietly. “Actions speak louder than words, Stephen. Which is good, because I’ve always sucked at words.” A soft grin tugged at his lips. “I’m also terrible about letting people be wrong. It offends my sensibilities.”

”Tony—“

“I’m going to prove you wrong, Stephen,” Tony said. “But you have to be willing to let me. No matter what I do, it won’t matter if you won’t open yourself up to the possibility.”

”Tony—“

“Stephen, let me show you.”

Stephen swallowed, but… but didn’t he want this? “All right.”
