The truth is that as a boy Valentino had the same relationship with Ferrari that I have with Sampdoria. I don’t know why. He hated the red car. At the end of October 1997, there was the infamous contact between Michael Schumacher and Jacques Villeneuve, with the German off the track and Villeneuve winning the Formula 1 World Champion. So I took advantage of an event at the time that was very important, the Motosprint Golden Helmet Awards. I orchestrated a meeting between Ghosn and Beggio to have Villeneuve and Rossi awarded together, so that Valentino could shake hands with Jacques. Everything was calculated down to the last detail: it was 8:30, maybe 9:00 in the evening, and we were about to take the stage at the Bologna Auditorium. The room was packed. I was seated at the table with Valentino and Uccio Salucci, his inseparable friend. Suddenly, the two of them got up, saying they needed to go to the bathroom. And they never came back. To this day, I have no idea why they did that. But it left me in an absolutely embarrassing situation—I had to go up and accept the award like an idiot. Beggio wanted to wring my neck. I seriously risked getting fired, Beggio was completely unmanageable when he lost his temper.

Une des raisons de mes départ de chez Parasol, en plus des conditions de travail, des horaires de travail invraisemblables et l’inutilité assumée de ma présence, fut l’accueil que je reçus. La plupart de mes collègues étaient vraiment gentils mais certaines personnes me faisaient sincèrement envie d’acheter une machette. Je pense être un peu trop claustrophobe pour pouvoir faire une Carlos Ghosn, alors j’ai vite abandonné cette idée.

J’ai déjà évoqué les divers comportements problématiques de Monsieur Kame envers moi mais j’ai à peine effleuré la surface des actions de Madame Yakyu. Je me permets d’en faire donc un article à part.

Bien qu’elle fut ma formatrice attitrée, il ne me fallut pas beaucoup de temps pour comprendre qu’elle ne me portait pas forcément dans son cœur. Je savais qu’elle adorait papoter avec Madame Dragon et je compris également qu’elle sous-estimait mon niveau de japonais. J’assistais donc en direct à des séances de commérages à mon propos. Heureusement ce n’était pas trop violent mais cela me fit bien comprendre que je n'étais pas forcément la bienvenue.

J'entendis ainsi « Cette fille aime bien les couleurs, hein. » Suivit d'un rire moqueur à peine dissimulé. Étant la seule personne portant un pull rouge ce jour là, je compris donc que mon nom de code était « Cette fille ». Je prêtais donc l'oreille lorsque j'entendais cet appellation.

Ceci me permis de comprendre également que Madame Yakyu s'était fortement opposée à mon embauche mais que, par un coup du sort, fut désignée ma formatrice.

De part mon existence je semblais déjà bien la mettre dans tous ses états mais mon manque de japonais la mettait hors d'elle. Son regard blasé se changeait en regard de dégoût a chacune de mes fautes orales et mes demandes de corrections de textes écrits mettaient de plus en plus de temps a être faites.

Lorsqu'une série était validée pour parution, nous faisons une réunion tous ensemble pour décider du titre final de l’œuvre. Quelques jours à l'avance on nous distribuait les 10 premiers chapitres, que nous devions lire et ensuite proposer plusieurs titres qui pourraient convenir. Les moins expérimentés d'entre nous s'appuyaient sur des titres déjà existants et les moins novice faisait des jeux et références en tout genre. Je me contentais évidement de faire un titre, comme nous pouvons en voir souvent de nos jours, contenant l'entière totalité du plot.

Les jours avant ce genre de réunion était vraiment intéressant. Je pouvais enfin lire cette nouvelle série dont j'avais beaucoup entendu parlé en réunion mais jamais vu puis je devais utiliser mon japonais pour lui trouver un nom. C'était vraiment mes parties préférées. Néanmoins la réunion en elle même était un vrai calvaire. Je ne comprenais pas la moitié des titres de mes collègues et on me demandais mon opinion beaucoup trop souvent à mon avis. Fut-il pour vérifier si je prêtais bien attention a la réunion ou pour me donner l'illusion d'une quelconque utilité dans cette entreprise, je n'en sais rien.

Quoiqu'il en fut, je répondais bien souvent a cette question par une réponse au pif.

Un jour, en ayant marre de répondre au hasard, je dis clairement que je n'en savais rien. Je reçu deux, trois regards de travers et la réunion continua. Je pensais que cela allait s'arrêter là, mais que fut ma surprise quand Madame Yakyu me pris a part à la sortie de la salle de réunion.

« -Pourquoi tu n'as pas suivit la réunion ? » Je lui répondis avec une petite voix que si.

« -Alors, pourquoi tu n'as pas donné ton avis? » Je lui répondis que les kanjis étaient trop difficiles pour moi et que j'ai mis du temps à lire tout les titres. Quand la question m'a été posé, je me suis donc retrouvé sans réponse.

« -Pff, tu pourrais faire un effort... Ces réunions sont importantes. La prochaine fois, donne ton avis. »

Et elle s'en va.

Ce que j'ai peut-être oublié de mentionner et le fait que, comme nous étions dans des bureaux partagés, la salle de réunion donnait sur une salle de travail commun où une quinzaine de personne travaillaient en silence.

Je m'étais donc faire reprendre salement devant 15 parfaits inconnu.

Je savais que cette réprimande était valide et que je devais redoubler d'effort pour améliorer mon japonais. Mais l'endroit, la façon de me le dire et le manque total de compassion m'avais franchement énervé.

Une autre fois où les remarques de Madame Yakyu me mirent un gros coup au moral fut lors d'un repas d'entreprise. L'équipe IA avait terminée un gros projet et nous l'avons fêté au barbecue japonais. Monsieur Kame avait décidé des places et, pour je ne sais quelle raison, je me suis trouvé à la table de l'équipe mise a l'honneur. Ma table était alors composé du Boss, de Monsieur Yuri et me moi-même et cela me mis vraiment en confiance pour parler et manger à ma faim. Je savais que, étant la plus jeune et une fille, s'était à moi que revenait la tâche de faire cuire la viande. Mais lorsque le plateau de viande arriva, il fut posé a côté de Monsieur Yuri et fut impossible a atteindre pour moi. Cela m’embêta vraiment mais Monsieur Yuri se mis a cuire la viande avec joie et ne semblait pas gêné par mon inactivité. La viande était succulente et le repas continua avec joie.

C'était sans compter Madame Yakyu qui, ayant vu qui cuisait la viande, fit une réflexion que je ne compris pas. Par respect et ne sachant pas quoi faire d'autre, je lui souris.

Puis elle rajouta en me regardant droit dans les yeux une phrase qui se rapprochait de « Bah c'est une étrangère, elle ne sait pas comment servir de la viande ».

Je compris donc qu'elle me faisait une réflexion devant tout le monde et qu'en plus elle en profitait pour me rabaisser.

Personne de dit rien, comme d'habitude et aucun froid ne se fit. Mais je me sentis vraiment mal, de mettre, encore une fois fait reprendre par Madame Yakyu mais en plus de ne pas servir Monsieur Yuri comme il se devait. La viande si bonne pris un goût amère et toute ma confiance disparut.
