Hi! I am not generally speaking active on Tumblr, but I just completed Part 5 6 of a fanfiction that is almost 150k words and which shows no signs of slowing down soon. I figured I'd show it to class. :)

Fragile First Chance and its follow-ups is a story about a nineteen-year-old boy whose legal name is Joss William [redacted] Pines but if you call him anything except Will you might end up in a fistfight. It's also a story about how the Pineses are basically good people with a lot of baggage.

Major themes are tagged and optional content warnings for individual chapters are included in drop-down tabs in the notes. For the most part, heavier themes are not gratuitous.

Below the cut you'll find a rough outline of each section. If you don't want spoilers, though, just head on over.

This story was well under way before The Book of Bill came out. It isn't perfectly TBoB compliant, but the themes and plot aren't really something that makes that an issue.

Part 1: Fragile First Chance

Dipper and Mabel Pines were sent to Gravity Falls at the beginning of summer for, from their perspective, no reason. In reality, it was because they were being sheltered from some very old family drama.

Will is May's son from her first marriage and Fil's son by adoption. He's nineteen years old, just getting out of his second incarceration, and a recovering addict. They planned to put him up for a few months, and after that Fil's weird black-sheep uncle agreed to give him a shot in Oregon.

Ford, of course, knew nothing about this. He's not happy about it.

Part 2: Learning to Breathe

Will and Ford are slowly acclimating to each other like two feral cats. They don't really have anything in common except insomnia and a mutual desperate quest not to get in too many fights.

Will doesn't like Gravity Falls. It's lonely, there's nothing to do, and it's full of weird bullshit he doesn't want to deal with. He's coping, though - Soos is pretty cool, the local teens are entertaining, and he ends up getting a long really well with the local bait shop guy and his dad.

Part 3: When Family Matters

Will has started to figure out how Ford works and make an effort to be nice to him. He also tentatively almost likes the guy. (cue Stan audibly sighing in relief off-screen.)

Also: Dipper and Mabel have figured out that their long-lost brother has reappeared, and there are certain family traditions about how you deal with long-lost brothers.

Part 4: Lancing the Wound

Ford and Will are both under a phenomenal amount of stress for a wide variety of reasons. By this point in the story, words like "panic attack" and "therapy" are coming up more often. They have more in common than they ever realized, although for two people with severe abuse-related PTSD, that's not necessarily a good thing.

The McGuckets are around to help. The Twins are too, although whether that's a good thing is open to debate.

Part 5: Nature versus Nurture

In the wake of Part 4, Stanford Pines is coming to realize that his mental health is a much more serious problem than he had previously realized. He struggles to come to terms with this and decide what to do next. This segment of the story is primarily about self-reflection and realizing that you need to change. We also get some serious discussions about the mental health industry (and how it tied into the gay scene in the 70s) by people who are personally invested in it.

Part 6: Definition of a Real Pines

This story arc just started and concerns Ford navigating his life as he tries to re-integrate with his family and society while working through a very difficult mental health situation.

We'll get to meet more of the Pines family. Shermie lives in Florida with his sister-in-law. (Note for those curious about the timeline incongruities: Shermie's age is- wait, look over there! *smokebomb, jumps out the window*)

Part 7: Consequences of Inaction

Will has pretty much adjusted to his new life, and the family as a whole had stabilized. However, there were some things left to rot outside the family while everyone was getting their feet under them.

This arc deals with Tate McGucket, straight-faced stoic extraordinaire, who may not be doing as great as he pretends he is.

Bonus: Erastus Kankerson's Toxic Ex

This is a stand-alone one-shot about Erastus Kankerson, an old friend of Fiddleford McGucket who dated him for a while after the divorce.

Also keep in mind everything I rant about here are just my current opinions and concerns, this could change after the next three episodes' release.

Ok.... first of all, never has a show made me sob as hysterically as this one has. The end of almost every episode has had me in tears so intense that I'm sitting there hiccuping oh my god. Like when Vi and Vander hugged at the end of Episode 5, or when the 'Remember Me' flashback happened GOD

The art and animation is as STUNNING as usual holy shit. This show is so beautiful and the visuals are addicting. It's all such good inspiration for fanart and just future artworks in general, it's honestly an artist's paradise and I genuinely can't believe something like this exists.

Anyway, initial gushing and ranting aside, here are some of my... gripes? concerns? about Season 2 for now.

(Please keep in mind that these opinions are not set in stone since the season isn't fully released yet but I still want to rant about them and get it all out of my system.)

Overall the season has been really really good, I am really enjoying it. But I can't help but feel SO confused. Maybe it's the fact that it seems a lot more focused on League of Legends storylines and references this time (I have no knowledge of League lore), but so many of the different plots throughout the episodes have left me so confuzzled.

For example, in Episode 6, it feels like so much happened that was so out of pocket. When Vi runs into Caitlyn, even though Cait was the one who literally left Vi to rot in a hole to continue her quest to kill Jinx, she immediately agrees to stabbing Ambessa in the back and just seems to forget entirely about what she's been doing for the past 2 and a half episodes?? It just felt like her mentorship with Ambessa, her 'relationship' with Maddie, and her obsessive search for Jinx were kind of tossed aside in favor of her and Vi making up.

Don't get me wrong, I love to see them together again, but I'm so confused as to WHY they're back together already. Not to mention Cait's reaction to seeing Jinx again is so tame in comparison to how much she seemed to despise her an episode ago.

Another Episode 6 example: Jayce... What the fuck?

I know we'll probably get context and exposition in the next few episodes as to where he's been and why he's like this, but still, it feels so strange that he went from sacrificing everything to save Viktor's life in Episode 1 and 2 only to show up and kill him in Episode 6. WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU JAYCE PLEASE I NEED TO KNOW WHY YOU ARE MURDERING YOUR POOR WET CAT BOYFRIEND

My other concern with season 2 so far, is that the pacing/storylines and plot feel really fast? it kind of feels like so many plots were crammed into season 2 that they now only last a few episodes until they finish or are forgotten? Like Isha was only there for 4-5 episodes until she died, Vander/Warwick's existence was built up across 3 episodes only for him to die really soon after he was revealed? Vi's breakup era only lasted for a few minutes in a montage? Viktor's 'Jesus' era had maybe 10 minutes of screentime? the list goes on.

I enjoyed all of these plots and storylines a LOT but I wish we got just a bit more time to appreciate them instead of getting emotional whiplash every episode. And that comes from someone who LOVES emotional whiplash.

To be fair though, none of the 'deaths' I'm talking about are necessarily confirmed yet since they're just implied until the next 3 episodes, So I do hope that at least Vander/Warwick is still alive because we barely got to dive deeper into the emotions the sisters must have experienced after seeing him again.

Anyway, Season 2 is honestly still so good it's a solid 7.5/10 for me so far. It has its flaws but it feels unfair to focus on them too much considering the season hasn't even finished its release yet. So yeah I'm really enjoying myself over here and am frothing at the mouth for the next few episodes to come out. Until then I will be curled up in the corner drawing infinite amounts of Arcane fanart to sate my endless thirst for more of this show.

It shouldn't have been Burntrap. Afton should have possessed Glamrock Bonnie

So I've been thinking. If the original intent of Security Breach was Afton's resurrection, then we should have gotten Afton possessing Glamrock Bonnie.

Now we know Glitchtrap and Burntrap are The Mimic. But we all thought it was Afton in the beginning. But what should've been was to tie Bonnie's disappearance into Afton's resurrection.

Spring Bonnie. The big one. They used Springtrap in the HW VR game and the AR game and they are in universe games, so who's to say they didn't add in their programming for Glamrock Bonnie?

In FNAFAR, Toy Bonnie is shown to be a spotlight hog with a big ego. Talking about fame, and how he’s better than everyone else. Then from the AR emails.  It’s revealed that Bonnie ate a cat. He ate a fucking cat.

In the Freddy & Friends cartoon, Bonnie is looking mischievous and shifty. Under a chill persona hiding a dark secret.

You could parallel Glamrock Freddy and Bonnie’s relationship with William and Henry. Freddy thinks he can trust Bonnie, and loves him. Bonnie is however a self centered sociopath.

If you noticed the cut content of Bonnie bowl, you’d notice the minigame has Bonnie looking fucking evil.

They have been teasing Glamrock Bonnie's fate and what's going on behind the Pizzaplex and I truly believe this should have been used to intertwine both story elements.

Characterwise, Afton!Bonnie acts like he did as Spring Bonnie a friend to children hiding the monster underneath. When the monster is unleashed in the boss fight, you'd here lines like the ones in this video

For lore purposes. After the 9 victims of Vanny, she brought William back. We’d find out through various messages that Glamrock Bonnie has taken children to Bonnie Bowl and they were all never seen again. Glamrock Bonnie was the first to be infected and had William’s remnant transferred.

One day Freddy learns what Bonnie has been doing, takes Monty with him and confronts him Bonnie tries to kill Monty, thus forcing Freddy to stop him while Monty shatters Bonnie in self-defense. They hide him away in the back alleys of Bonnie Bowl and never speak again about it.

We could cut the nonsense about the Pizza Place and have the final confrontation in Bonnie Bowl. We have to play the cut Bonnie Bowl minigame because it has an upgrade that upgrades our security clearance to level 12 so Gregory can track down Vanny. Gregory gets the highest score in Bonnie Bowl and Vanny confronts us and unleashes Afton possessed Bonnie. Freddy holds Bonnie off while Gregory has to beat Princess Quest 3. Since Vanny's hideout is connected to Bonnie Bowl, we can get to it in time. During Freddy and Bonnie's fight, it causes areas of Bonnie Bowl to catch fire and said fire spreading towards the Pizzaplex. You have to beat Princess Quest 3 in 3 attempts. If you get it in one attempt. You kill Afton for good while saving Bonnie and Vanessa. If you get it in attempt 2, Freddy sacrifices himself to kill Bonnie. If you beat it in attempt 3, Bonnie shatters Freddy and is closing in on Gregory while Gregory just beats it in the nick of time. If you fail attempt 3, you get the bad ending with the last thing Gregory sees is Afton!Bonnie and Vanny with Gregory's fate left very bleak.

Regardless, after either ending 1 or 2, Vanessa comes to save the day and get Freddy, Gregory and Bonnie out of the Pizzaplex. with Vanny's mask on the floor and the last bit of the Glitchtrap code being left for HW2 to finish off for good. Or alternatively in the ending where only Gregory, Vanessa and Freddy are saved, we have Vanessa and Gregory locking Afton!Bonnie up in the bowels of the Pizza Place, sealing him away, installing the MXES program but in the shape of The Puppet thus starting the events of Ruin, only instead of The Mimic, it is Afton!Bonnie in his ruined remains we would see in Ruin just clawing his bits to kill Cassie, but when he has her in the elevator, Cassie's fate is left unknown and Afton sees the chance to replace the Vanny he lost and even better, she feels betrayed and he will give Cassie her revenge.

Coming super late to the ship ask game, but what are your thoughts on Adrielle/Mayrina or Talli/Jaheira? 😁

Adrielle/Mayrina

What made you ship them? It had definitely crossed my mind but this fic you may have heard of naturally turned it all the way up to 10/10. Also Adrielle is so gorgeous that I will throw her at literally anyone tbh.

What are your favorite things about the ship? The entire concept of the Hag Support Group is so charming to me; it's one of the few side quests I always do in Act 3 even though that Ethel fight makes me want to vomit blood. Truly all it needs is a little romance! And it is very romantic, a love that is a safe harbor after surviving a storm. It also of course involves my favorite character in any situation, a Sad Wet Cat Woman (Adrielle) and I like Mayrina, truly some dude off the streets, being the leader and hero of the pack.

Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship? Impossible to answer for basically all these ships but this one especially, as I have never seen Adrielle even mentioned in fandom except for us two and I believe I have seen one (1) fanart of Mayrina. That's the unpopular opinon. Philistinism smh

What made you ship them? When I bebopped around the Last Light Inn for the first time, after shitting bricks wandering the shadow-cursed lands for like an hour because I couldn't find it somehow and I'm a colossal pussy when it comes to horror, and being gobsmacked to discover the oasis of MILFs therein. The wheels were spinning but then Talli said "If you're alright with Jaheira, you're alright with me" instantly made me go "GAY"

What are your favorite things about the ship? Two Harper officers, called to arms by the greatest crisis in a hundred years. It looks cold in the shadow-cursed lands. They can't show doubt, they can't shiver in front of the young'uns that look up to them... but perhaps they could keep each other warm, sometimes. Talli naturally has feelings-catcher written all over her so it doesn't end well, but was it worth it? I think so...

Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship? What other miscellaneous commentary do you have tangentially related to your ship because this question is N/A? idk I was very pleased at the response to my Talli thirst drawing, always happy to let people with good taste know they're not alone

Yayyy kitty hyper fixation corner

Hi!! So I got DEEP into warriors around two years ago. I went through all the available audio books (so series 1-7 and 2 of 8, plus all the super editions and 6 of the novellas)

I absolutely loved it, I loved looking at animations and fanart and character designs ideas... Seeing character retrospective videos and oc comics as well- it was all so lovely.

But, unfortunately, I ended up falling out of the fandom once I fully caught up on all the books available. I didn't read the rest, but I regret it.

After 2 years, I missed it. I missed the silly cats. But when I tried to glengage with the fandom again, I found that when you get out of the warriors fandom... It becomes a mess of not knowing who any of the characters (besides the main ones of each series) are. Of course I remember Dovewing and Ashfur, but sparkpelt... Berrynose... I remember the names but can't tell you anything about them!! So the only think I felt i could do was to go and listen through the books again. It gives me something to watch in my head while I crochet or draw, anyways!

I went through series 1, even though I've gone through it 3 times already, and fire stars quest. And now, I'm trying to speed through series 2 so I can get to the next ones already x3

Trying to get through one book day ( for series 2 at least. ) this blog will be where I post any rambles I have about the books or characters. Or maybe some fanart (or requests if I'm able!)

I hope I can get better at drawing cats with this blog as well. After a few days of studying cat art, I feel much better with my skill of cat drawing, but I can always improve.

Here’s my fanfic! It’s about Macaque and the Lady Bone Demon’s hostess named Bei Da and their ‘wacky’ adventures while trying to find her cat named Buddy.

This fanfic also has a Spotify playlist! It’s great to listen to it while reading the fanfic or (if you want) to make some good ol’ animatics! I tend to listen to it while writing the chapters and such.

Now let’s get to meet one of the main characters, Bei Da!

Bei Da was LBD’s host and was wandering the alleyways after the events of the S3 Specials. She has a cat named Buddy, but she lost him on the night when she got possessed by LBD. So now she’s on a quest to find him! But she’ll have to face some unwanted obstacles to be able to get him back though. Will she get her cat back or will she unravel some dark secrets that she never wanted the answers to? Now let’s get into her likes and dislikes!

Bei Da likes: swears, cats, pink, warmth, Macaque (her best friend!), Savage, Rumble, Chang’E (Macaque’s friend), food, M&Ms, and literally anything that her friends give her.

one thing I think is underrated about FMA is that while May’s search for the perfect shoujo love interest, is while it is played a bit for laughs, it’s not like “her quest is stupid and she’ll never find a guy like that! girls and their stupid romantic fantasies!.”

 No it’s that she’ll absolutely find a guy like that! and it’s Al. Ed isn’t remotely qualified, but Al is Fully Qualified to the be the Perfect Wholesome Shoujo Love Interest, May zeroed in on that immediately,and she was fuckin’ right and got what she wanted. She found herself a guy who’s gallant (yet troubled! They’re a bit starcrossed!), pets and kidnaps stray cats and believes firmly in being a gentleman. Arakawa was like “yeah one of my main characters is an ideal shoujo love interest. I want to stress that”. May isn’t ultimately punished for having a shoujo romance mindset in a shonen manga, she’s rewarded and Arakawa forces the reader to realize one of their leads would be pretty cute love interest in a manga aimed towards girls. I enjoy that. Delightful.

(It also forces readers, if they care to think about it, to realize Al has a pretty romance oriented mindset too, that the gag comics don’t come out of nothing. Because of all the other stuff that’s going on and the neverending horror of his life, it’s limited to little asides like “man i wanted to find a gf before I died :/” and stuff like that, but he would love to be in a shoujo romance too. He’s there already, he just got fucking sidetracked by all this other nonsense. That’s what I’m thinking is missing from the “Al was supposed to be the mc”. He is! But he’s not a shounen mc who got derailed. No, in Al’s world he’s the lead guy in a shoujo who got derailed, goddammit).

Rewatching FMA also reminds me like, what a failure it is that My Hero Academia had that episode where Deku realized the huge emotional strain that him hurting himself  and not including her in his decisions has put on his Mom and resolves to do better, but as far as I can tell the narrative completely,,, fuckin’ forgets that?

When the same basic thing happens in FMA, as far as Ed and Winry go, Ed NEVER FORGETS IT. “I will not do things that hurt Winry, and when I don’t value myself or communicate it hurts her” never stops being a thing in Ed’s mind. He still sometimes acts recklessly but then literally thinks “I fucked up better fix this I promised not to make my girlfriend cry” She is genuinely always in his thoughts.

like other shonen action manga try to replicate this but don’t do the followthrough. It’s just a one episode thing and then it’s like BYE CIVILIAN FEMALE CHARACTER BACK TO THE SHELF WE’LL NEVER THINK ABOUT YOUR NEEDS OR THE EMOTIONAL LABOR YOU DO AGAIN but Winry’s needs and the moral of valuing her emotional labor and getting her up to date on what’s happening are present throughout the whole narrative. She’s not an action hero yet she has an arc?? She’s important? this STILL is never present in all the shonen I’ve seen that have come out since, like somehow arakawa still stands out for grasping this simple concept, we haven’t gotten past this yet.

Can other shonen action manga learn about follow through please.

FFIX Appreciation Week~

Because I always arrive late, here's my little appreciative post! ❤ I wish I had the time to paint an illustration, but a class is draining all my time- more than I expected in fact- so I'm just going with this!

Day 1 → Favorite scene/cut-scene ALL of the night of the attack on Alexandria. The drama, the cutscenes, Bahamut, Alexander, the Invincible, Steiner and Beatrix fighting back to back, Zidane rescuing Garnet, EVERYTHING. *gestures at the gif below* It’s all so beautiful and heartwretching.

Day 2 → Favorite location The Black Mage Village. I would live there honestly. Everytime I play and get there, I can almost feel the sunlight shining through and the wind through the leaves, and hear the water running through the Village. Daguerreo is a close second! And I’ve sometimes spent hours in the Gurgu Volcano or Bran Bal listening to the music theme.

Day 3 → Favorite song/theme You’re not Alone. Honestly how dare they use this theme for Kuja in Opera Omnia and make me cry like that.

Day 4 → Favorite eidolon/summon/command This transformer boat.

Day 5 (July 05) → Favorite side-quest/mini game I would rush through Tetra Master matches sometimes, but then spend the entire day on the Chocobo Hot and Cold game. Honestly.

Day 6 (July 06) → Favorite boss/battle There are a few monsters/bosses I honestly feel bad beating. Like little cute Tantarian. 200% would pet.

Day 7 → D-DAY! A free day! When I have more time...I’m SO going to paint a Kuja fanart...

When I played FFIX for the first time, I was about half my actual age. With time, replaying it again and again, this title really grew on me to become my absolute favourite, not only because it features some of my fav characters of all time (*cough Kuja *cough. I’m not vocal about this on social medias but my friends may as well strangle me if I keep talking about him with this frequence. I’m sorry for this torture and grateful of having you in my life), but also because of the incredibly deep themes it portrays. Remembering the main theme of the game gives me relief and warms up my heart to this day.

Just a few more things before ending this:

A little thing I’ve always loved about FFIX is the chromatic symbolism in the colours of Zidane and Kuja (and their trance forms), and Garland, and how the theme returns in Memoria too.

The whole Steiner x Beatrix beginning with that letter gets me every. single. time. Favourite FF ship EVER. Hands down.

I NEVER kill the Gimme Cat. It’s a good cat. Would give scritches.

1000 jumps at the rope is just inhuman.

When I had the PSX, my first disc scratched. I had a save file in Cleyra, so everytime I wanted to replay I had to start from there. This is probably why I remember the story better from disc 2 onwards xD

FF9 was (and is?) really underestimated when I bought the game. I wasn’t really convinced with playing it at first because of this, but gosh I did finish disc one in a single afternoon.

Rufus’ Welcoming Ceremony played in the Evil Forest. Awesome.

I’m only familiar with the first game+DLC! It’s probably relevant to mention that I think that linking the fire is kind of a dumbass move and Gwyn is an ass, but on the other hand Kaathe has his own agenda and there’s no winning move in this world, or at least no obvious one. Feel free to deviate from anyone’s canon endings, to make things happen that’ll stave off their hollowing. I am interested in any of these people meeting and possibly striking up a friendship, and also in exploring Lordran’s temporal/dimensional fuckery, where it’s possible to meet people who have been gone for ages…

Group: Solaire of Astora & Siegmeyer of Catarina: so much fanart of Sun Bro & Onion Bro being bros, so little fic. And yet, the potential! How’d they bounce off each other, what about the fact that Siegmeyer is apparently a proper Catarina knight after all while Solaire just painted his self-made insignia and left, what would Sieg think of Solaire’s quest?

Group: Alvina the Cat & Sieglinde of Catarina: dunno, kitty. I love them both and I want everyone cool to go on adventure with each other. What’s left for Alvina now that Sif is gone, Artorias’ grave desecrated? For her part, did Sieglinde, you know, (mimics Ash Lake)?

Ghost Trick

I am very interested in various characters finding about the erased timeline, but not getting their memories back, and having to live with being told about what they did but never remembering it. Exploring the ghost lore is great. All what-ifs welcome (what if they managed an acceptable happy ending but didn’t reset the timeline, what if a different party went back to the past and kept their memories, what if Alma’s ghost stuck around…) Also open to AUs here, especially for generic fantasy or sci-fi settings or the Final Fantasy ones I prompted last Yuletide.

For the non-canon sides of Jowd/Alma/Cabanela, please no infidelity? I’d be good with either setting the fic during the game timeline or some what-if thereof when the other spouse is dead or unavailable, or simply keeping them offscreen and not mentioning them (eg Alma/Cabanela beach day, Jowd/Cabanela precinct shenanigans)

For Jowd in general, I do love my big boy and enjoy milking that size difference for all it’s worth. In gen contexts too, it’s neat. him big.

Kentucky Route Zero

I love the ending and I’d love to see its themes and setting explored. I’m all for exploration of any of the game’s themes and for including any staples from adjacent genres - wanna go full-on American Gothic? Dip into surrealism? Take a leaf from Twin Peaks with tulpa / split narratives to explore the characters’ issues? I love AUs so that’s an option too. Or of course there’s Xanadu at the height of its glory, an infinite what-ifs generator. Were the requested characters part of it, what were their digital counterparts up to? A Xanadu narrative would be great! I’d also love to hear about any new spot along the Zero or the Echo river, or an expansion of some place that’s only mentioned by Will in HATATE or only gets a few paragraphs of text. Mostly, I just love all these characters so much and I’m going through the tagset’s options like a hyperactive cat. Any fragment of their lives will make me happy.

The island, the sense of community, newcomers joining the community, gardens and music... I love the mood of this little game. Got ideas for some part of the island we haven’t seen? What stories do they tell each other about Moon Dragon and the first days of the new life it brought? The plants encyclopaedia was great - do Yoké’s archives hide some other cool tome? Please, if Graubert is mentioned, I would much prefer a sympathetic portrayal - he’s got his issues but I felt that the game was much harder on him than anyone else.

Group: Yoké & Karoo: I love the friendship between Yoké and Nonno and filtering it through Karoo feels even cooler to me. When did the big spooky bird first visit, did Yoké know or perceive what was going on?

Group: Spike/Claire: they’re so cute! Dinner at Mori’s? Swimming together?

Group: Nonno & Spike: I love Nonno’s role in the community and Spike’s role in the community, and they’re the two people who landed there and decided to stay. Could they bond over this?

Group: Bopek & Jell-A: Jell-A is the absolute coolest and Bopek grew on me a lot. Their friendship is adorable! What could they do together? As a side note, Jell-A’s place has the tightest interior decor in the whole game. How’d that happen, and does Bopek get a flair for vintage shapes and volumes in his weaving?

Group: Mori & Nonno & Yoké: FRIENDS. Friends for a long time, through so much pain. An evening together while The Youths (tm) are at Spike’s bar?

Yoké: catch-all Yoké request because he’s my fave! Doing Yoké things, being a big nerd, caring for books and plants and stuff

Pyre

The burning found family feelings, the revolutionary passion, the tension between topside social constraints and the kind of freedom allowed by the Downside! Thoughts about finding oneself at  the end of an age, as everything crumbles down to form something new. I love all the themes, the solemnity, the heart of this game. I adore everyone in that Blackwagon+Dalbert+Celeste, so if you want to add a Nightwing or two to any prompt, please do! I also love all the Scribes and find Erisa a compelling tragic figure. Out of the other triumvirates, I’m “love to hate them” for Manley, Brighton, Udmildhe and Deluge and would not like to see them featured in sympathetic roles. My main interest usually lies in post-canon exploration when applicable, but I’m also into various adventures during canon. Pick a location or a place outside the map and see what happens? As for the ending variables, I’d ask for a peaceful revolution and Oralech alive, but no preferences for who’s up and who’s down, pick whatever works best for any given plot bunny.

Group: Tariq & Soliam: what were Tariq and Celeste like in their earliest days? Were they made or summoned from some sort of preexisting star consciousness? They’re wildly different scenarios! I’m good with either. Does Soliam then see Tariq as a child of sorts, someone he made, or something greater than himself? Did he mean to do that, to have these two immortals around? What does Tariq learn from the First Scribe?

Group: Tariq & Dalbert Oldheart: Any excuse for Tariq to hang out with the Fates for a little while, and treasure and be treasured by dear Dalbert...

Group: Oralech & Vagabond Girl: after all is said and done, Oralech’s view of the Scribes is probably... understandably... dire. So of course I want to see him talk it out with ae!

Group: Celeste & Ignarius: look, listen, if the various triumvirates just camped out near their respective Scribe’s place during the Nightwings’ years-long absence (not the only possible explanation for how you find them all neatly lined up before the first lib rite, but an explanation nonetheless, I think. just let me have my crack), that means Iggy was Celeste’s neighbor for a long time. Neighborly hijinks please?

Group: Bertrude/Pamitha: Pam returning from her travels, again and again, and finding a home in Bertrude’s lab, finding an understanding there... Bertrude’s attitude being thorny in a way that’s just what Pam needs to allow herself to open up... also: snake kisses.

Group: Volfred Sandalwood/Oralech: waking up and remembering that the mourning that’s set deep in your roots is for someone who never died, waking up and remembering that the bitterness that consumed you had made up a betrayal that never was, finding each other through these crumbling walls... 

Molten Milithe: that’s the pov for a love letter to the Downside, right? And/or which Scribe did she bond with the most? Or the least for that matter?

Volfred Sandalwood: catch-all Volf’n’anyone request. I want to see our tree interact with any friend and foe you might fancy! Arguing for his beliefs, being a history professor through and through, finding himself in a tight spot and getting unexpected help, verbally tearing Brighton a new one if they ever cross each other’s path again...

group: Volfred Sandalwood/Tariq | The Lone Minstrel: Volfred’s zodiac sign is Cancer and Cancer is ruled by the Moon, so there’s that.    I love how they both hold the other in the highest esteem, especially on Tariq’s part since he’s the immortal Herald of the Scribes and Volfred is, all in all, a history teacher, but listen to him and you’d think the roles were inverted. I love my nonviolent canon but could anything happen to either of them that may require a rescue, and/or some good old-fashioned h/c? What’s something that could make Tariq of all people lose it? How’s life 100 years on?

This game cares for the little things. I’d love to see fanworks that try to out-slice-of-life canon...

For all its waifufication of Shenhua, S3 really sold me on their friendship and a shared brand of dorkiness. Alternatively, sometimes I remember that they’d be 50ish in the present day - how and where do you picture them?

The Silver Case

I‘m all for the surrealism, big things being introduced and never picked up again, Rashomon’ing it up with six explanations for the same thing where no single one can be true, people dying and then popping up again like nbd...  maybe the thing I like the most is characters transcending their humanity and looming over the dystopian world like ominous avatars. Correctness’ first ending had me swooning, that kind of mood is unparalleled. I have played TSC, FSR and 25W so far and have vague memories of K7. I’m aware of the “everything’s connected” readings but that’s not my main interest in these games. For FSR-focused requests, I see Lospass as a real island but also a metaphysical  place of transformation first and foremost, where strange things happen that don’t make sense elsewhere.

Group: Toriko Kusabi & Remy Fawzil: What’s Toriko up to when she’s not chasing Chris? I think it could be fun to throw her at Remy and see the island from their point of view!

Group: Tokio Morishima & Edo Macalister: since Tokio stayed at the Flower Sun and Rain... I’m interested in peculiar happenings on Lospass that are not centered on Sumio...

Group: Tetsugorou Kusabi/Sumio Kodai: Tetsu picked one hell of a crush, huh! What’s it like in the aftermath of the games, when Sumio is Like That? How does Tetsu grapple with Parade? What webcomic inspired you to get into webcomics?  Please tell us about your journey.

there were several for me but I think Sakana was one of the biggest inspirations for me! http://www.sakana-comic.com/ since Mad talks a lot about her process with the comic it really helped make it feel less like some kinda magic that I didn’t know how to do and more like something I could try myself

honestly i find this to be a difficult question. im old enough to remember when internet wasnt a thing. so when it became a thing, there were basically always webcomics. and it was just kind of like...a normal thing to be read on the internet just as much as anything else. i never saw it as a lesser medium as some ppl have experienced. it was just always there along with the internet so it always felt natural to me to read them if they seemed interesting. that being said, if i had to pick the first webcomic that ever made me stick around for a long time, it was Bleedman's Powerpuff Girls D fancomic. Besides the fact it was super popular at the time, i just thought it was really different. like the art popped a lot more than other comics at the time (that i knew of at least), the story was way less comedy more actually serious material, and just in general i enjoyed the story telling. https://www.snafu-comics.com/swmseries/powerpuffgirls/

homestuck was the biggest one for me, but others like Witchy, Lady of the Shard, and Tuppence for Stardust are also big inspirations

I kind of networked out from online newspaper comics into actual webcomics and beyond, it's kind of hard to tell but I think Skin Horse (http://skin-horse.com/) was pretty much the first webcomic I got into.(edited)

I'm a keenspace child apparently, 'cuz my first introductions to webcomics were Saturnalia (https://web.archive.org/web/20070705042710/http://www.spacecoyote.com/comics/sat/) and RPG World (http://rpgworld.keenspace.com/). Both are dead now, although RPG World has a sorta-creator-blessed fan revival (http://rpgworld.the-comic.org/) And then I sorta fell away from them for a bit, mostly, until a friend threw Mokepon (http://mokepon.smackjeeves.com/) and The Property of Hate (http://tpoh.smackjeeves.com/) at me and now I'm back xD

I started reading webcomics back in the early 2000’s so I was consuming everything that was available, but I think the first one that actually made me think “I want my art to be like that” was The Meek https://www.meekcomic.com/ Up until that point I read mostly video game comics and they were funny but not inspiring me to make a comic. The Meek was gorgeous and interesting in a way that I hadn’t seen before.

A friend of mine made a webcomic in the early 2000s and I will not link it because it baaad, but that was my introduction to webcomics-- though when I started reading Terinu ( http://www.terinu.com/ ) and Lackadaisy Cats ( https://www.lackadaisycats.com/ ) was when I started wanting to make one of my own

The Meek and Gunnerkrigg Court were also early influences for me

Acid Reflux (http://acidreflux.ficwad.com/) was the first webcomic I really got into back in 2000. The humor was a great blend of anime and light fantasy, which is definitely my happy place. The forum/IRC communities were big for the time too (and of course there was no social media back then outside of what people hosted themselves). When I started my own comic, one of my goals was to have a community like that.

The first webcomic I got into was Looking for Group https://www.lfg.co/. I'm a huge sucker for medieval settings, so my influences revolve around core fantasy, like Legend of Zelda and Lord of the Rings, but I also LOVE for my fantasy to not be taken as seriously with a good sense of humor, like LFG, Discworld, Dungeons and Dragons, and even The Adventure Zone. Seeing them create a graphic novel was sort of a catalyst for me deciding to make my own. I hope I do well for myself to contribute to the unique fantasy/comedy genre!(edited)

I actually started making webcomics before I knew they were a thing

When I was super young I made comic strips inspired by Calvin and Hobbes all the time

And when I got a deviantart account I started posting them

I think Calvin and Hobbes was a huge inspiration for my early work

Although I really started taking comics seriously when I started reading Cucumber Quest

Calvin and Hobbes really inspired me to make comedy comics, and I loved the variety of backgrounds that were drawn in it

Cucumber Quest has lovely colours and a well written story, so I looked at pages from it a lot when I started teaching myself how to make colour palettes

The first webcomic I ever read was Michelle Phan’s Helios Femina, Just cause I was a fan of her makeup tutorials. I started reading it but stopped and then when I started making my own webcomics last year I got into it again, but the story turned out to be not my thing, but freaking gorgeous art. Then I got into Planet Ace, Shiori, and webtoons like UnOrdinary and Spaceboy, and The Villain.
