literally I have not written this much in the span of a couple weeks since like. mid high school. so around 7-8 years ago. what has this show done to me
#it’s not like I haven’t been super into other stuff over the course of that time yet nothing spurred me to write like This#I used to in late middle school / early high school for a fandom I will not mention except. way way more. like I had an unfinished fic over#100k words. and that was just one fic#but. anyway SINCE then nothing’s motivated me to write this much except. well. you know#I think part of it has something to do with the fanbase being so new and active#I rarely get into things that are new enough or popular enough to have much of a fanbase to encourage me to write more / post more#so this is nice#anywayyyy yeah I just finished the second chapter of don’t you want me and both chapters combined are 10k. I am not even halfway done#I’m worried I’m dragging it out way too much and people are gonna get bored#cause the Fun Stuff will really start to go down in chapter 4#I guess we’ll see. it’s not as popular as my first (oneshot) fic which is a bit disappointing but I suppose inevitable#I’m not feeling that confident about my writing/plot on this piece honestly but. we keep truckin#rambling#oh yeah and for reference. I’ve probably written like 30Kish words worth of stuff in the past two weeks or so

The Act of Stealing a Loved One |2| (Stanley Pines x Reader)
This chapter is a flashback. So are the others. Enjoy! It's super long lmao
Story Guide
It was the Summer of 1972 when you first met Stanford. You remember it almost all too well. You went to a college for the arts, majoring in music composition. Oh! And you were in a band! It was not good by any means, you all were figuring this out as you went but you were all having fun so it didn’t really matter to you. It’s kinda funny looking back on how the two of you somehow became a couple considering how different the two of you were.
You two only met after you accidentally stumbled in his room one night after you partied too hard at someone else's dorm. You thought his room was your friend's room. His dorm had books scattered around, posters of some scientists on the wall and an absolute mess of notes on his desk. Stanford did not want to spend his night with some random drunk girl in his dorm, but he knew he had to let you in, not trusting what any of the other men on the campus would do if they saw you like this. He didn’t know why you made him so flustered, maybe it was your vulnerable state, or just because you were a girl, talking to him.
It was probably both.
“You know, I never wanted to go to this, it was some promotional stuff for my band. Did I tell you I was in a band? We are amazing!” You were laying on the floor staring at the ceiling smiling goofily, flipping onto your stomach to look at the flustered man whose dorm you broke into. He took a glance over his shoulder to look at you, trying to tell you he was listening, even if you didnt care if he was or not. “Okay so that might be a lie, Gabs is super pitchy, Jamie is still figuring out the drums but that's besides the point..I met you by going to this!” you finally sat up running a hand through your hair “You're so dorky it's kinda cute” you let off a soft giggle pointing at him.
This made Stanford physically freeze, his breath hitching slightly “Thank you I suppose, Are your friends looking for you?” He quickly changed the subject, turning around in his chair, looking at you “I think, I dunno… I kinda wanna stay here with you” you smirked. “Well I-” he started before he heard a female voice yelling in the hallway “Y/N! We gotta go!” “Oh that's Gabs! She’s my friend!” You stumbled up before heading towards the door, pausing before going back over to the man kissing his check with a giggle, causing Stanford's face to turn bright red “Thank you for saving me! I’m Y/n by the way!” “Um… It's Stanford, Call me Ford..” he managed to get out, quickly writing the phone number to the telephone that was in his room, down on a piece of notebook paper. “Just.. Call me when you get to your dorm safe..” he quickly turned back to face his textbooks he had his nose buried in hours ago “Aw you care about me… Okay loverboy. Seeya around!” you poked his shoulder before leaving, yelling at your friend ‘Gabs’ to get her attention
Ford had no idea why he did that, he never had the balls to do this sort of thing. Especially with someone as beauti- No why the hell was he having these thoughts? You weren't going to call him. He has to forget about this encounter, he concluded, going back to his uneventful night.
He got a call the next day, it was you. There was some sort of music in the background, he couldn't place what it was, some pop music maybe. “Oh my gosh is this Ford? I kinda crashed at your dorm last night, I am sooo sorry I am super embarrassed.” you rambled on before Ford let off a slight chuckle “No it's fine. I’m glad you're safe, you seemed very out of it last night” he leaned back in his chair slightly as he spoke “Ugh don't get me started about the hangover” you groaned causing him to laugh.
After that was the beginning of a relationship, you spent your off time together, he helped you with classes and you expanded his music taste, well tried to at least.
It's been 4 months since you two started dating. Ford even told his brother about this, and to say Stanley was shocked was an understatement, he rushed over surprising Ford “So you finally found a girl who doesn’t run off screaming? Tell me all about her” Stanley smirked looking at his twin brother, noticing a photo of you on his desk in a frame, you had a microphone in your hand giving a peace sign to the camera with your other hand. How the hell did his brother score you? Ford went off to ramble about you, he was a love sick mess, but the way his eyes kept shifting to the photo of you when explaining you made Stan confused, why did he have to keep looking at it to talk about you?
He noticed a few flyers to some music festivals, they looked untouched. “Who gave you these?” he picked one up, the show was for tonight, in a few hours. “Oh Y/n did. She’s in a band” Ford looked at the flier before directing his attention back to the textbook that was in front of him “You plan on seeing her right?” Stan raised an eyebrow looking at his brother “Too busy, I have an exam tomorrow” Ford shrugged it off flipping to the next page in his book “You’re joking right? Have you been to any of her shows?” Stan narrowed his eyes in disapproval, Ford didn't say anything “Some boyfriend you are” He muttered looking down at the flier in his hands. He knew what he had to do, he wasn’t going to let Ford ruin the only potential relationship he would probably ever have.

Me or him (part 4)

~ part 1, part 2, part 3
pairing: felix x afab!reader x hyunjin genre: angst, smut word count: 3.2k warning/s: swearing, oral (f and m receiving), fingering, squirting, unprotected p in v (don't do it), creampie, no happy ending!!! a/n: this is the last chapter of this mini series! i hope you enjoyed it as much as i had fun writing it🫶(and also made myself cry while writing this last chapter dkdldl) ~ check out my: Masterlist
The last few days, you were nothing but miserable. All day, every day you thought about what you did and the more you thought about it, the more it depressed you.
Felix has been texting and calling for days. But you couldn't deal with him and the last thing he said before he left that night.
'I'll never give up on us.'
What he said made you even more mad in that moment. You tried calling Hyunjin but it seems that he blocked your number as soon as he left the apartment and your life.
You knew there was no going back and there was no way he would ever forgive either of you but you wanted to at least tell him how bad you felt for betraying him and breaking his heart.
Changbin came to pick Hyunjin's stuff up and he gave you the cold shoulder as soon as he saw you.
"H-how's Hyunjin?"- you ask quietly as Changbin packs his stuff.
"How do you think he is?"- he scoffs, not even looking at you.
"I- I know I fucked up real bad. But can you just tell him how sorry-"
"No, y/n. You don't get to apologize and feel better because of it. Hyunjin deserves more than a shitty apology you're making just because you feel guilty. I hope you feel guilty for a very long time cause you really broke his heart. Both you and... Felix. I don't wish anything ill upon anyone usually, but honestly whatever karma you two get, you deserve it."- Changbin says, shoving the last of the boxes closed.
You're silent. There is nothing you can do, you know Changbin loves Hyunjin like a brother and nothing you say to him in this moment can repair what you've broken.
"Also, here's anything you gifted to Hyunjin or him to you while you were together. He doesn't want any of the stuff to remind him of you so sell them, throw them away or something. I don't know."- Changbin shrugs, bringing in a box.
"Goodbye, y/n."
-
Your apartment might as well be completely vacant cause that's how it feels. Half of your closet is empty. Hyunjin's favorite snacks are gone from the pantry. His paintings that adorned the walls were gone, the paint on the wall lighter where they used to hang, leaving just a shadow of what once was.
The smell of his skin has almost completely faded away from your sheets. You can't even sleep in your bed because every time you lay down in it, you remember how you said your lovers name in the most intimate moment shared with your boyfriend, and your chest squeezes in anxiety.
You sleep on the couch, you force yourself to eat, you exist at work, your days seem to be seeping into one long painful experience. It's like you're barely even real, like the world is moving around you in slow motion and you're just there.
You can't take it.
You can't take being alone.
-
Your hand trembles as you lift it up, contemplating if you should actually be doing this.
It's still not too late to turn back and just go home. But what are you going back home to? Empty walls? A cold bed? That damn box of things that remind Hyunjin of you that you still didn't manage to bring yourself even to touch?
No, you can't go back there. Not like this.
So you ring the doorbell.
"Coming!"- you hear his muffled voice.
The door opens and a disheveled Felix widdens his eyes at the sight of you.
"Y/n!"- he gasps.
"I... I didn't know where else to go."- you say weakly.
Felix stares at you for a moment, the look in his eyes becoming softer.
"Come in."- he says and steps aside.
You end up sitting on his couch, where everything started. Pretty ironic, you think. He sits down too, and the two of you struggle to say something.
"Didn't you say that you don't ever wanna see me again?"- he asks quietly.
"That didn't stop you from calling and texting."- you answer equally as quiet.
"Well, I said I wont give up on us. That wasn't a lie."- he says and you sigh, finally finding the courage to look at him. He waits for you to say something and you stare at him, his eyes still warm when they look at you. You hurt him too though, haven't you?
"Felix, I'm sorry for what I said. I didn't really mean it. I was angry at myself and I took it out on you. I mean that's no excuse but we both did a really shitty thing. I feel so fucking guilty, sick to my stomach for hurting someone as wonderful as Hyunjin is."- your eyes water. "I think about it every day. I really hope he can heal and find someone better. And I... well I want to try giving us a chance if you still want me."- Felix's eyes widden.
"But I need to know that you feel guilty too. I need to know that you know what we did was wrong."- you add, wiping away tears that slowly made their way down your cheeks.
"Ofcourse I feel guilty, y/n. I'm not some kind of monster. Hyunjin is- was one of my closest friends. I broke his heart too, I betrayed him too. And I do think about it. But, I can't help also thinking about you every day. I still want you, I want to be there for you. I want to be yours."
Your heart speeds up when you hear those words and you wordlessly lean in, closing the gap between you and Felix. His lips are soft against yours and only when he reciprocates the kiss, you realize you missed him.
"Wait a sec."- Felix gently grabs your wrists, leaning away from you.
"What is it?"- you ask as you notice his lips trembling.
"I don't want this to be just fucking to you. I don't want to be a rebound. I want to have a real chance of a relationship with you, like we're starting from the beginning."- Felix's eyes are big as he scans your face.
Your chest tightens.
"I... Okay."- you nod. "But I need you now. I missed you."- you confess and it's exactly what Felix wants to hear.
"I missed you too. I thought I'd never see you again."- his hands cup your face as he talks between kisses. "I need you too."- he adds and kisses you more passionately as you tangle your hands in his hair.
Something in your gut feels wrong, something nagging at you in the back of your mind but still you let Felix take you to his bedroom. It looks exactly how you remember it and everything smells like him. He kisses you, his tongue exploring your mouth, his hands holding your hips tightly.
You're drunk on the taste of him, it's all so familiar, so comforting that you lose your mind to his touch.
You grip his waist and turn him around, pushing him down to sit on the bed.
"Y/n..."- Felix lets out a shaky breath as you place your palms on his thighs, spreading his legs apart before you slowly kneel down in between them.
"Fuck..."- he whines as your hand comes in contact with his hard, clothed member. You grip him and move your hand on him, feeling him grow under your touch.
You don't want to waste too much time so you hook your fingers in his sweatpants and slide them down with his boxers and Felix whines as soon as the cold air hits his leaking cock.
You lean in and lick at his tip gathering the precum, swirling your tongue around until you take him in your mouth and suck gently. Felix grips at the bed, the sight of you on your knees, pleasing him like that makes his heart beat fast.
Drunk on the feeling of his cock heavy on your tongue you keep taking more and more of him in, swallowing and humming around him, driving him crazy with desire.
His hands tangle in your hair and he grabs a fistful of it, pushing his hips up and accidentally making you gag around him.
"Ah, shit!"- he whines as his cock twitches inside your mouth.
You bob your head faster and moans keep spilling from his lips as you bring him closer to the edge.
"Stop, stop, don't make me cum yet!"- Felix whines and you lift off of him, licking your lips and looking up at him through your eyelashes.
"Let me taste you too, sweetheart."- he says, his voice deeper than usually and his pupils blown, the nickname he always uses for you making your pussy throb.
Pretty soon, you're naked with him between your legs, his tongue lapping at you hungrily like he was deprived of actual food for months.
His fingers work to open you up as he sucks on your clit, tongue darting out to tease your wetness.
"Missed your taste."- his voice is muffled as he speaks into you, his eyes closed in pure bliss as he keeps eating you out.
"Lix!"- you whimper as your hips spasm towards his face, his fingers finding that gummy spot inside you. "Ah, don't stop."- you say and he speeds up, making your legs shake and your heart race as he keeps hitting that sweet spot, his tongue lapping at your clit.
Pleasure washes over you and you explode, squirting all over his face and the bed.
"Shit, sorry!"- you gasp and Felix chuckles.
"Don't apologize, that was really hot."- he smirks, fingers caressing your wet folds. "I guess this pussy really missed me."
"It did."- you whisper breathlessly, as he leans in again and gives you a few kitten licks.
"I missed her too."
"Felix"- you tug at his hair and try to lift him up. He looks up at you and smirks, his thumb on your clit.
"Want something?"- he asks.
"Don't tease me now. You know what I want."- you whine.
"Say it, sweetheart."- he says, his deep voice sending vibrations through you.
"I want your cock, please."- you give in immediately and Felix smirks triumphantly as he slides his hands up to cup your breasts, hovering over you. One of his hands grabs his neglected cock that's screaming for any kind of attention and he gives it a few pumps, the tip caressing your wet cunt.
You grip at his arm, nails digging into his skin as he pushes in, your pussy molding around the shape of him, the familiar stretch.
Felix loses himself as soon as he feels your warm, wet walls clenching around him and he fucks you with vigor.
"Oh my god!"- you whimper, holding onto him for dear life.
"Fuck, I missed you so much."- Felix whimpers, face buried in your neck as he keeps shoving his cock inside you, waves of pleasure making you feel like you're floating on air.
"More, more, more..."- you keep chanting.
"I love you, I love you, y/n."- he says desperately holding onto your hips, but you only moan in response as you spasm, your juices spilling all over his cock.
"Felix!"- you moan his name as he keeps fucking you, hips snapping into you strongly.
"I'm close. Can I cum inside? Please, let me cum inside."- he begs repeatedly and you've never seen him this desperate.
A brief thought of a rule runs through your mind, one that the two of you have already broken before. The one where you told Felix that he can't come inside you, only Hyunjin can, and your mind races, a pang of guilt hitting you again.
"Please, y/n, I can't hold it much longer."- Felix ruts into you sloppily.
"Okay, you can cum inside me."- you whisper, nails digging into his back as he growls lowly, hips picking up speed again.
Between his low grunts and the whispered 'I love you's', his hips stutter as he finishes, his hot cum filling you up and making you feel incredibly wet.
"You didn't say it back."- Felix whispers as he pulls out and lays next to you, facing you so you face him too.
"I'm sorry."- you whisper, tears threatening to spill.
"I'll wait for you."- he says.
"Okay."- you say as his hand gently caresses your cheek.
-
Felix promises he'll work on himself and on your relationship. You promise you'll work on yourself too and give this a real chance.
And you really try but deep down you know you don't love Felix the way you loved Hyunjin which makes you even more confused at why you even started the affair, and how you ended up sharing pancakes on a date with him instead of celebrating four years with Hyunjin.
Felix looks happy, the happiest you've seen him and you can't even count how many fake smiles you fed him. It's wrong and it makes you feel like an even worse person than before.
The box of stuff Hyunjin returned to you is buried deep inside your closet, still unopened and untouched. It's been a few months and you still can't make yourself sift through it or even just throw it away.
Whenever you're at home, you want to run away because your apartment still reminds you of Hyunjin, and you still can't let Felix in and you definitely don't want him in the bed you and Hyunjin shared. So you go to Felix's place but whenever you're there, he's there and he doesn't want to leave you alone for a moment, and his apartment just reminds you of the many times you ran into his arms behind your boyfriend's back.
Felix is too excited, too happy and you know he's not stupid, you're pretty sure he can feel that you don't love him the way he loves you, he's just trying to ignore it.
Maybe it's best if you actually start fresh, away from everything and everyone that remind you of the biggest mistake you've made in your life.
-
"Lix, can we talk?"- you start one afternoon, as you hang out in his apartment.
"Yeah, what's up?"- he asks, his attention on you.
Oh, boy. Even though Felix wasn't a saint, he didn't deserve to have his heart broken but the more you thought about it, the more you came to the conclusion that it would be best if the two of you went your own separate ways.
"This isn't something I'm doing just like that, it's something I thought over and over about and I'm doing this with a heavy heart- but I think we should separate. And for real this time. I mean actually never talk again."- Felix's face morphs from sadness to annoyance as he listens to you.
"Why would you say something like that? I thought we were making progress. I thought you-"
"Felix, please, just listen for a sec. I'm sorry but I don't love you like you love me. I care for you but that's as far as my feelings go."- you say and he looks at you like a kicked puppy. "I don't want to keep lying to you because I feel like I'm doing that constantly. I can't move on from what we did to Hyunjin, I can't heal or become a better person. Neither can you, because this isn't healthy. Our relationship was never healthy. And I think both of us are just keeping each other stuck and lying to ourselves thinking that this could work when it started out as betrayal to someone who cared about both of us. We can't build a healthy relationship on that. I said I'd give it a chance and I did but I can't do this anymore. Not to myself and not to you. I want you to also be happy and find someone who will love you properly."- by the time you finish talking, both of you are crying.
"I don't know what to say, y/n. It just hurts a lot to hear that you don't feel the same for me because I've been loving you for years. I know that I made the first move and I was wrong for that. I was wrong to come between you and Hyunjin. B-but I thought if he had a chance to start over, maybe you'd grow to love me. Obviously, I can't force you to."- he sniffles so you grab his hand.
"It's really over now, huh?"- he asks, squeezing your hand.
"I'm really sorry Felix. For everything."
"Me too."- he nods. "P-please just let me kiss you and hold you one last time."- he whispers.
"Okay."- you whisper back and Felix presses his lips on yours, the taste of salty tears making your heart ache. He puts his arms around you and holds you tightly. You hold him too, while you both cry. But it's better this way. It's better to start completely fresh, for all three of you.
"I'll always love you."- he whispers.
"I know you will."- you whisper back and Felix smiles sadly.
He watches as you walk away from the window, lips trembling, still not completely aware that that is the last time he'll ever see you.
-
You're sitting on your floor crosslegged, the box Hyunjin returned in front of you.
You think it's time to finally open it.
You slowly lift up the lid and look into it.
It's like a time capsule of your moments together. There are three sketchbooks inside, filled with sketches of you. You smiling, cooking, sleeping, existing. Just you through Hyunjin's eyes. Cologne you bought him that makes you tear up because it brings up memories of his scent that he always left on your sheets and your skin. Shared jewelry he always got for the two of you so you could be matching. Couple rings you wore that made you remember all your friends teasing you that you got engaged within 3 months of dating. Your favorite t-shirt of his, the one he gave you to wear the first night you made love. Since then it became yours and Hyunjin loved seeing you in it, nothing else just the shirt and your pretty legs. There were tickets to art exhibitions you went to together, where Hyunjin would pull out his camera and take pictures of you and the pretty paintings surrounding you. Tickets to concerts you attended together, where you would dance like crazy and have fun like you had no worries on your mind. At the very bottom there were some photos. Photos of you, Hyunjin and Felix when the three of you first became friends. The smiles you had in the photos, pure happiness to be in each other's company, innocent and unaware of what the future holds.
You start crying as you put everything back in the box fast. You don't know how long you lay on your floor crying and hoping that this was all a bad dream and the three of you were still friends and your feelings weren't complicated and you didn't fuck everything up and no one's heart was broken.
But, sadly your reality slaps you in the face. The reality where you ruined your relationship and your friendship. The reality where you betrayed someone who loved you selflessly. The reality where you gave false hope to someone who cared about you. The reality where in the process of breaking hearts, you broke your own heart too. You hope one day you'll be able to pick up the pieces.
Today is not that day.

Call It What You Want Pt.3
Pt.1 Pt.2 Pt.4 Pt.5 Pt.6
Summary: You get together with your friends to catch up on life and they're skeptical about what you're doing with Regina. A house party at Shane Oman's house gives Regina the chance to prove them wrong
Pairings: Regina George x Gender Neutral/Fem Reader
Warnings: internalized homophobia, underage drinking, drug use (there's some coke involved, but nothing too crazy I promise)
Notes: Hi! Chapter 3 and I'm just having so much fun with these. Listen, I know there's another party, but it's college. I'm keeping it realistic lol but also, next chapter will be a small time jump and they'll get more well established. Just trying to have some fun and build it up and see how things are shifting I guess?? Anyway, I really hope you like this chapter as well and thank you all for taking the time to read. Also, slight mention of drug use, but just a little dabble. But TW just in case. But I kept it not super crazy and kinda light for that reason
///
You were at your desk with your headphones on, doing your best attempt to do the readings for one of your classes that was due tomorrow. You always had a tendency to wait until the last minute for things, citing the excuse that working under pressure helps you think better. College may be testing the limits of that theory, but so far you haven't failed anything horrendously. It's only been a month since classes started though so there's still time.
Two arms wrapped around you from behind, caressing your chest and collarbone. You shot forward in your seat, ripping your headphones off your head and whipping your chair around to confront your roommate for majorly crossing a fucking boundary when you were met with a laughing Regina instead.
"Chill out, it's just me. Your roommate let me in before they left."
You stared up at her waiting for your heart to calm down. Though, staring at her wasn't doing you much good cause now it was just beating faster in a whole different way.
She was dressed up, her oversized designer purse that she uses for her backpack was sitting by your doorway so you know she must have stopped here right after class.
Something about that makes you feel all warm and giddy inside.
You also try not to think about the fact that you haven't seen her in like almost two weeks though.
"What brings you by?" You leaned forward, resting your forehead against her stomach and closing your eyes when her hands find their way to your scalp, massaging softly.
"I wanted to see you. I've just been busy with classes and soccer stuff lately." She gave your hair a tug so you would tilt your head back and look at her.
"When's your first game?" You questioned, your hands finding the backs of her thighs because that's what was within your reach and you almost felt like if you weren't touching her right now, you would implode.
"We've already had like three games."
"Oh." You said, your eyebrows furrowed. The hands on the back of her thighs faltered slightly and you didn't realize how much you wanted to be present at one of her games until you basically found out you were probably never going to be invited.
"Why the face?" She frowned, rubbing her thumb between your eyebrows to essentially try to get you to fix your face.
"Can I come see you play?"
"Uh," her voice was a touch higher than normal and you knew whatever was about to fly out of her mouth was either going to be a lie or something you probably didn't want to hear.
"Don't worry about it." You shook your head and gave her a tight lipped smile, leaning back in your chair.
"Stop, don't be like that." She straddled your lap and you tightened your grip on the back of her thighs because the last thing you needed was for her to fall. "I just can't have any distractions while I'm there."
"No, yeah. That makes sense." You agreed for the sake of moving past this conversation, but you also weren't really looking at her either. She gripped your face with both her hands, forcing you to look at her.
"Stop, Y/N." Her tone sounded less playful and you knew you just needed to let it the fuck go. You nodded and she squeezed your cheeks, pushing your lips out and planting a kiss on your lips. You quickly caught her lips for a second kiss before she could pull away and you could feel her smile against your lips.
She slid her hands down and cupped your neck, deepening the kiss. You could feel her rubbing her thumbs along your jawline and having Regina George sitting on your lap kissing you has to be what heaven feels like.
"I have to finish my homework." You mumbled against hers lips, pulling her closer to you by the backs of her thighs. She responds by grinding down into you, shaking her head no. You gasped when her hips moved against you again and she wasted no time slipping her tongue into your mouth.
"Fuck your homework." She said before bringing you in for another heated kiss.
It was tempting. God, it was so fucking tempting. The way she was grinding against you was making your brain short circuit so you know trying to get anything done would be impossible.
"Stay here with me and hangout." You pulled away from the kiss to look at her, pushing some stray hairs from her face. "Ren will be gone for a while. It'll just be us. I can order pizza, too."
"Ugh, I guess I could do some homework, too." She said begrudgingly.
"You probably should if you want to keep playing soccer."
"You probably should if you want to keep playing soccer." She mocked, rolling her eyes at you.
But the fact that she had her arms draped over your shoulder and had been twirling the hairs at the back of your neck around her finger really made you feel like she was not as upset about spending time with you as she was trying to let on.
"What kind of pizza do you want, beautiful?" You sneak in one more quick kiss because you just couldn't help it.
"Would you judge me if I just said cheese?"
"Never."
You both just stared at each other in silence for a few moments. One of Regina's hands moved to cup your cheek, her thumb swiping against your cheekbone. She leaned in and pressed a soft, slow kiss against your lips.
"I'm gonna change and get everything I need from my room. I'll be back." She gave you one more quick kiss before getting off your lap and you felt almost desperate the way you tried to keep your hands on her until she walked out of reach. So desperate that even having your fingertips on her felt better than nothing.
She took her keys from her bag and left it sitting against your wall. There was no question about whether or not she was coming back. When she closed the door behind her you hopped out of your desk chair and to to work on straightening up your room.
You fixed your bed, moved some clothes out of the way that were in the way. You had this bean-bag lounge chair thing that your mom got you and you pulled it out from the little space between the wall and your dresser where you shoved it because it took up way too much room to keep out daily.
You plopped onto the chair and called to order a large cheese pizza, opting to order from a nicer place instead of Dominos since Regina would be joining you. You got a soda for yourself and a sparkling water for Regina and added two cannolis for dessert.
Regina knocked on your door about twenty minutes later. She was dressed in comfy sweats and a crew neck, carrying a few books and her laptop and charger.
You smiled and stepped aside to let her in.
"Sooo, I have a paper to write that's due tonight that I forgot about. Where can I plug this in?"
"You can take my desk. Let me see." You looked at her charger and nodded. "We have the same one, just use mine and plug your computer in. I only have to do some reading and annotating tonight." You carefully took her charger from her and set it on her bag.
She set all her items on your desk and started to carefully move your stuff to the side, making sure to bookmark the page you were on and to put your laptop to sleep properly before closing it.
You grabbed everything she set aside and set in on your bed, grabbing on the book you needed, your pen, and a highlighter. You took everything to the beanbag chair that was situated slightly behind your desk.
"You're so far away." She commented, turning in your chair to face you with a small pout.
You chuckled and grabbed the back of the chair, dragging it to the small space between your desk and your bed and setting it there. You picked up your book and your pens and plopped down. Regina nodded in approval and turned to her computer.
After twenty minutes of straight reading your eyes needed a break. You closed your book and stretched, looking up at Regina to see her texting. Her computer screen split between an empty google doc and the school portal that actually signed her out for inactivity.
"Have you even started?" Nudging her leg with your foot.
"Hmm?" She hummed, waiting until whatever text she was working on was sent before looking up at you.
"Your paper."
"I will. Relax." She rolled her eyes and made a face at you before turning away. Which actually kind of pissed you off a little.
"Fine. Don't come crawling to me for any fucking help then." You adjusted yourself in the beanbag chair, opening your book again and continuing to read.
You could hear Regina typing every once in a while, but when you would look up you would see her doing online shopping or pretty much anything that wasn't homework. You continued to read for almost another thirty minutes until you got a call from the pizza delivery person that they were at the front desk of your dorm.
"Did you pay? Let me pay for it." She stood up, helping you off the beanbag first before attempting to go to her bag.
You pulled her back by her wrist and pulled her into you, wrapping your other arm around her waist.
"I've got it. Don't worry about." You kissed her quickly and patted her lower back before releasing her. "Get the tv remote off Ren's desk and pick something for us to watch while we eat. I'll be right back, babe."
You grabbed your keys and slipped on your shoes so you could head downstairs.
You returned a few minutes later with the box of pizza and the bag with your drinks and dessert.
Regina had cleared off space on multiple surfaces to make room for the food and for you both to eat. She was waiting for you patiently on your bed, laying comfortably against your pillows while scrolling through the streaming app of her choice.
You set the pizza down and got everything situated. Pulling out paper plates and napkins then making plates for the both you. Regina held both your plates while you pulled out the drinks and opened them.
"You got me a drink!" She said excitedly when she saw you pop open her sparking water.
"Yeah, baby!" You set the drinks on the edge of your desk and slid in to bed next to her, taking the outside once again.
You settled on watching Schitts Creek while you ate, having to talk her out of a Real Housewives show and reminding her that she was the one we with a paper due tonight.
You watched one episode while you ate and you watched a second one to 'let your food digest', both of you settling further into your bed. Regina had her head on your chest, rubbing the part of your arm you had wrapped around her that she could reach.
Your biggest mistake was letting her convince you to put on more episode for good measure. Actually, no. Letting her pull a blanket over the both of you was the mistake.
She was out within the first five minutes of the third episode, though your fingertips rubbing her scalp weren't really helping her stay awake.
You gave her until 8:30 before turning off the show and waking her up gently. You kissed the top of her head, calling her name after every kiss until her eyes fluttered open then back closed. She buried herself deeper into your embrace.
You found her cheek and kissed it repeatedly and obnoxiously until she got annoyed enough to wake up. It was a short nap, but you can tell it was a good one just based off the redness in her face from both how she was laying and how warm and comfortable she was.
You pushed hair from her face and handed her her drink, giving her just a few minutes to fully wake up on her own without being rushed.
When Regina was fully awake, you both made your way back to your designated homework spots. You sat more comfortably this time, your legs stretched out with your feet resting on Regina's lap. Something she had actually encouraged you to do which surprised you a little.
You had no complaints about it though. Since her deadline was creeping up on her she was actually doing her work, but whenever she would pause to read something or think about what she wanted to type out next, her hands would find their way to her lap and trace patterns on your shins and ankles to help her think.
She got her paper submitted about five minutes before the deadline. Did she almost have a few mental breakdowns? Yes. Was she cursing out her professor? Also yes. But as soon as it was submitted you could tell she was visibly relieved she got it done.
"When can I see you again?" You asked her, handing her her bag as well as a small ziplock of pizza.
"Tomorrow?"
"I can't tomorrow." You shook your head. "I'm gonna be seeing Ava and Isaac tomorrow."
"Who?" She raised her eyebrow.
"My friends? From North Shore? We are gonna meet up after classes tomorrow."
"Oh."
"What? What's wrong?" You asked, immediately detecting a shift in her mood.
"You're not gonna say anything, right?"
You swallowed the lump in your throat. You were obviously hurt that she didn't want anyone knowing, but also like if she wasn't ready she wasn't ready.
"Yeah, of course. Don't worry about it." You gave her a reassuring smile and despite the night you had together, she left without kissing you goodbye.
---
You met Isaac and Ava at a burger place near your campus that they had been wanting to check out. They both went to a different university in the city so it was nice that getting together wasn't impossible because of distance.
It was just impossible because of life.
You all greeted each other excitedly and ordered your food before getting down to the nitty gritty of your catch up.
Isaac had an STI scare and told you he finally got himself put on PrEP after you had been begging him since the school year started. His parents are also filing for divorce since he and his siblings are all 18 and over which he is actually pretty thankful about cause he was sick of them together. You and Ava were shown a multitude of different Grindr profiles of the guys he's been with, offering praises for the good ones and some reality checks for the questionable folks.
Ava hasn't been too involved in the dating scene. She has begun dabbling in some drugs that were a little heftier than what was usually provided at the house parties thrown by her brother. She did tell you that if you ever hear her mention meth or heroin, that y'all had permission to get her ass to rehab. But right now, it wasn't that serious.
You definitely made them share their locations with you indefinitely though.
"So, Y/N, drop the dirty details. What's been going on with you?" Isaac asked, taking a sip of his soda.
"I've been seeing someone. Maybe? Kind of?" You felt yourself blushing just thinking of Regina.
"What do you mean maybe, kind of?" Ava jumped in defensively. It was her and Isaac's turn to play the concerned friend role with you. "Do you have a picture?"
"I do, but she's not out yet."
"What does that matter we don't know he-oh, we fucking know her don't we? From North Shore?" You nodded and Isaac smacked the table. "At your school??" You nodded again and you could see him thinking, going through the list of everyone in your class that he knew of that went to your school. Which, was not a lot. "I can only think of like five people and two of them are boys." He held up three fingers, putting them down as he went through them. "Lupe Campos, Amira Harris, and Regina George." He put his three fingers back up and wiggled them.
You shifted ever so slightly when he said Regina's name and you and Ava made eye contact. She narrowed her eyes at you and you know you've possibly been found out.
"She doesn't want to be out. I'm not-I'm not confirming anything." You managed to stutter out.
"Shane is having a party tomorrow. My parents are out of town. He invited a bunch of high school people cause you know, he def peaked in high school and can't let that shit go. Are you coming?"
The notorious Shane Oman is Ava's twin brother. Two complete different personalities (almost), but unsurprisingly they're both pretty close to each other since they're twins. Apparently he had been struggling with life lately since graduation so this party is apparently his desperate attempt at finding purpose and popularity again.
"Yeah, I'm down. Could be fun." You shrugged.
"I heard he invited Regina and she will also be going."
Okay, well, see that you didn't know.
"Good for her." You nodded, playing with your fries before pushing your plate away.
"She didn't tell you?"
"Why would she?" Isaac interrupted before you could respond. Neither you or Ava spoke, but the eye contact between the two of you was enough for Isaac to finally connect the dots. He gasped before collecting himself. "Seriously? Regina George?" He said her name barely above a whisper, being conscious of the fact that you said she wasn't out yet.
You didn't tell them, technically.
"She's actually really great and just misunderstood."
"You could make the same argument about polar bears or crocodiles." Ava argued, pushing her hair behind her ear. "You don't think that her coming to her exe's house party and not saying anything to you is, I don't know, suspicious?"
"You never fall for the straight girl." Isaac piped in and Ava snapped in agreement.
"She's just figuring herself out." You defended.
"At your expense, babe! Come on! You know better."
"It's so different when it's only us. She's just scared." Ava gave you a look that could only best be described as pity and it didn't make you feel great.
"I get you, you know I do." Isaac reached across the table and grabbed your hand to give it a reassuring squeeze. "Just be careful."
"No, yeah. I know. I am."
---
You took the Metra to Evanston early Saturday afternoon, bringing a bag with an outfit or two with you and deciding to stop by and visit your dad, step mom, and little siblings.
They all greeted you excitedly and you spent the afternoon playing with your siblings, two year old Levi and 9-month old Zoe. It gave your dad and step mom some time to themselves and it gave you time with your siblings, something you both appreciated.
You started getting ready to go around 7pm. Levi hung out with you until his bed time and when your dad came him to pick him up off your bed, he gave you the speech about being careful, to call him at anytime if you needed a ride, not to drive drunk or get in the car with anyone that has been drinking or doing drugs. Pretty much just covering all his basic before releasing you into the wild.
Isaac picked you up around 9:30pm and when you got there the house was already packed a vibrating. Definitely not to the capacity it used to be since it's a random weekend in the middle of the semester, but still pretty full nonetheless. Regina's pink jeep was parked in the driveway. She must have had the same idea as you and came to Evanston early to see her family.
The fact that she was parked in the driveway and not on the side street or the front lawn made you want to throw the fuck up.
You did particularly enjoy the fact that, as far as you knew, Regina did not know you were coming. You felt like you had the upper hand. You put extra effort into your outfit and your hair. You didn't expect her to talk to you tonight or even acknowledge you if she saw you tonight. But that didn't mean you couldn't make it difficult for her not to.
You walked into the party and past a bunch of people who have never bat an eyelash at your existence in high school. You pushed past the drunk, high, sweaty party goers with Isaac clutching your jacket and guided him through the crowed to the kitchen.
Regina was in that area, drink in hand, talking to Shane, Gretchen, and Karen. When she saw you it was like she saw a ghost. You could tell she didn't expect to see you there and that it threw her off.
You were at the counter where all the drinks were laid out, debating between a bright blue drink and a bright green one. Both looked equally questionable. You felt a presence beside you and you knew it was Regina because you could smell her perfume.
"What are you doing here?" She asked, filling up her own drink and not making any eye contact with you.
"Ava invited me. Shane's twin sister." You added for clarification.
"Shane's twin?" You turned to her to say something, but she looked at you briefly and could tell her comment annoyed you. "I'm kidding. I know he has a twin. I didn't realize your Ava and his Ava were the same." You just nodded, deciding to take a chance on the bright blue drink and putting your cup under the spigot of the cooler it was in and filling your cup.
"You look really pretty tonight." You told her before taking a sip of your drink. She blushed and pushed some hair behind her ear, topping off her own cup.
"So do you." She smiled and took a sip of her drink as well, still not turning to look in your direction.
Karen and Gretchen waved her over and Karen shouted for her to bring them more shots.
"I'm surprised you're talking with them." You made yourself look busy while she prepared their tequila shots.
"Shit is different when alcohol is involved. I miss them a lot sometimes."
"Need help?" You watched her finagle the three plastic shot glasses and the red solo cup in her grip.
"Got it." She moved past you, knocking into your shoulder and making your drink splash over slightly onto your hand.
How she prevented anything from spilling onto her was a fucking mystery.
You found Ava and Isaac in the garage with a few other people, passing around joints and bongs. You took a seat on one of the chairs Ava saved for you and she handed you a joint before your ass hit the seat.
You vibed in the garage for about two joints until Ava pulled out a small bag of coke. That cleared the room quite fast honestly. Only you, Isaac, and two other people stayed with Ava.
She offered it to everyone and Isaac refused immediately. You hesitated to say no and she smirked, asking you if you were interested. That she would make sure it was a small bump and you would be totally okay.
Sure, you had only been drinking and smoking weed prior.
You were too scared to snort it, Isaac calling you 'so real' for that. Instead you were taught how to rub it on your gums and how to let it sit under your tongue instead.
The first fifteen minutes after were great, although seeing your best friend who was like this innocent band nerd just a few months ago snort a line? That was not anything you would want to see again.
You were fine until Gretchen and Karen came in to the garage Regina-less. Something about that had you start to feel a little bit anxious.
They came in asking Ava some question about where something was and she questioned where her brother was and you were out of that room once you heard he was in his bedroom.
You felt anxious, like your heart was going to fly out of your chest. Also, weirdly enough, you felt like you could totally fight someone and win right now.
You made your way to Shane's room and saw the door closed. You turned the knob and it was locked.
"Fuck." You sighed, pressing your head against the door briefly before pulling away.
You dragged your feet down the hall to Ava's room, opening the door and shutting it quickly when you saw the room was already occupied. You made a mental note that you would hopefully remember to tell her to wash her sheets.
You were kinda feeling sick and you didn't want to go back downstairs so you walked to the very end of the long hallway by the window. It was quiet and secluded and you sat with your back against the wall so you could watch all these assholes at the party.
You weren't sure how long you had been sitting there, maybe ten minutes max. You thought it was starting to wear off, but seeing Regina coming down the hallway arguing with Ava, and Isaac hot on both of their heels, had you thinking you were hallucinating.
You leaned forward and the three of them rushed to you, Regina shoving past Ava to get to you first. You heard an 'ooop' escape from Isaac's mouth and you met his gaze with a smirk. He winked and gave you a nod.
Regina was on the floor, kneeling in front of you with your face cupped between your hands.
"Hey, are you okay? You've been missing for a fucking hour." She titled your head up to look at your eyes in the light.
"I've been up here the whole time."
"Well we asked around trying to find you, but got conflicting information. Turns out, people are fucking stupid." Ava jumped in and Regina whipped her head around to give her what you assume was the most foul look both her and Isaac had ever seen judging by their faces.
Clearly Regina and Ava have not been getting along. You squeezed your thighs together at Regina's protectiveness over you then raised an eyebrow at Isaac. He shook his head and gave you a look that told you you'd talking about it at some point later.
"I'm so sorry, guys. I had no idea. I didn't mean to scare you." You still sound a little dazed and confused, trying to figure out how that hour passed in ten minutes.
"What happened?" She asked softly, her hand under your chin and her eyes searching your face.
You thought it over, trying to remember why you even came up here in the first place. You looked around the area and your eyes bounced to Shane's bedroom door. You furrowed your eyebrows, trying to get your brain working again. Regina didn't come from Shane's bedroom. You have confirmation that she's actually been trying to find you for the last hour.
"I don't remember. It's nothing." Your eyes bounced between her face and Shane's door once more and she knew exactly what your thought process was.
She shook her head no and let her thumb brush over your bottom lip quickly when she was pulling her hands off your face. She stood up and helped you up.
"Do you want me to take you back to your dad's?" Isaac asked as soon as you were on your feet.
"What? No. I'm good. Should we get another drink or something?" The last thing you wanted to do was be more of a vibe killer than you already had been. Especially for Regina.
"Yeah! That's what I'm talking about, baby!" Ava exclaimed and gave you a high five. "Want some more?" Ava teased, giving you a playful nudge and you both laughed. She was teasing you, you knew that. Joke or not, Regina didn't like it and you could tell by the way her grip tightened on the back of your shirt. "Seriously though, you should go home. Your eyes are fucking crazy right now."
"Where's my phone?" You asked when you noticed your pockets were feeling a little light.
"I have it. Let's go." Regina tugged your shirt and nudged you forward. "I'll bring you home."
"Nobody has to bring me home. I will take an Uber or call my dad. I'm not ruining anyone's fun. I feel fine guys, honestly." You lied. You felt nauseous and dizzy. Your heart was also racing crazy fast and you aren't sure if it's from the coke or Regina's fingertips against your back. "Also, Ave, people were fucking on your bed. Before I forget."
"Ugh, what the fuck!" She stomped and busted into her room. It was empty now, but very clearly, uh, used. She abandoned you to take care of that mess and you honestly don't even blame her.
"I'm gonna take you. Let's go." She repeated, clearly eager to just get you the fuck out of there.
"I'm gonna walk out with y'all. This party just ain't it for me, honestly." He held his arm out for you and Regina nudged you toward him. You hooked your arm around his and he walked you down the stairs, Regina trailing not too far behind you. "Let me tell you something." He said when Regina was out of earshot after letting you know she was going to get her purse and say goodbye to people.
"Hmm?"
"I thought Regina was gonna beat Ava's ass, girl. She was pissed." He shoved past the last few people on the front porch and led you to Regina's car.
"Really, why?"
"Well, I ran after you trying to find you. You were like a fart in the wind. Just poof, gone. Could not find you. I swear I went upstairs and you were not there, granted, I didn't necessarily look down. I came to Ava to get her to help me find you. Mind you, at this point, Regina came in to look for Gretchen and Karen cause they were still in the garage fighting over some stupid shit with her. Regina came in and overheard I couldn't find you. Ava was dismissive at first, said you would be fine. Regina kept her cool, kept it together. But then," he rested you against her jeep. "But then she said 'it was just a little coke. They're fine.' Honey, if you didn't tell us y'all were sneaking around, she would've gave it away then and there."
"Get the fuck out. What did she do? Wait, shush she's coming." You readjusted yourself when you saw Regina approaching with her bag, a bottle of water, and her clunky keys in hand.
"Talking shit?" Was the first thing out of her mouth as soon as she got close enough, sending a smirk your way while she unlocked the car. "Thank you, Isaac." She said as he helped you get situated in the passenger seat.
"I don't even feel it anymore, guys. I really think I'm fine."
"Mmm mmm." He shook his head, reaching across you to hand Regina your seatbelt to click in. "You need some sunglasses or something you look scary."
"Goodnight, Isaac." You rolled your eyes and he pressed a kiss against your cheek. "Text me when you're home?"
"Of course. You, too, please. I'm calling you tomorrow, too. Night, Regina." He waved at you both before closing the door and making his way to his car.
You both watched in silence waiting for him to get into his car safely.
"You're gonna come to my house tonight." She stated, putting her car in drive and not really giving you an option. She pulled your phone out and handed it to you. "Text your dad. I'll bring you home in the morning."
You unlocked your phone to see a bunch of texts and calls from Isaac, Ava, and mostly Regina. You can tell at some point, they all found your phone or realized you didn't have it because the messages stopped around the same time.
The final message Regina had sent you on their quest to locate you, after a slew of semi annoyed ones, or about how it wasn't funny, or that she was actually worried, was simply just 'baby please'. You stared at the words for a minute, letting the words burn into your brain before you were pulled from your thoughts and asked you if you texted him.
"Oh, yeah. Yes." You shot him a quick message and he responded almost immediately. He must've have been awake watching tv or playing a video game, but he's always been a night owl like that. Especially on weekends. He told you to be safe and to call if you needed anything. "Are you sure it'll be okay that I'm there? I can go home. I really think I'll be okay."
"Stop."
"Okay, sorry." You settled into the seat, turning your knees away from her. You felt bad about ruining the party for her, ruining her night, making her feel like he has to bring you home with her and take of you.
You were probably overthinking and maybe still slightly paranoid, but it just wasn't a great feeling.
She clicked her tongue in annoyance and reached across your seat, grabbing your knee furtherest away from her and giving it a tug so they were back facing her direction. She kept her hand planted firmly on your knee until she pulled into the drive way of her mansion. Which, yeah, understandable.
She parked in what was probably an eight car garage and led you inside of the house. There was a light left on in the main stairway for her, but otherwise it seemed the rest of the house was asleep. When you tried taking your shoes off at the door so you weren't too loud, she told you everyone took their sleeping pills for the night and would be too knocked out to hear a damn thing.
She led you up to her room and closed the door behind her. Your eyes widened, taking in the space. It felt bigger than your mom's apartment.
"Here." She was smirking when she handed you a pair of clothes to wear for the night. A grey long sleeve t-shirt and a pair of pink sweatpants that had 'slut' written on the back.
"You think you're so cleverrrr."
"I do, actually. And funny. Plus, I think I deserve it for what you put me through."
"I want to lay down so bad I'm not even going to fight you on it." You wouldn't admit it aloud, but they did look comfortable.
"And I want a picture."
"Okay, don't push it." You gave her a pointed look. She laughed and kissed your lips once, then a second time. She let the second kiss linger a little longer, her hand resting on your cheek and her body melting into you.
"I'm gonna shower. I don't care what time it is, I'm taking advantage of my big shower before going back to school. Will you be okay?" She swiped her thumbs across your cheeks and you nodded.
"In that big ass bed? Yeah I'll be so good."
Regina left to the attached bath to take her shower and you changed your clothes. You folded your clothes and put them on her chair. You changed into the clothes she gave you and hummed at how comfortable they were.
You climbed into her bed and picked the side you thought would be correct based off how everything was situated. You layed on top of the covers and sighed when your head hit the pillow. The beds at the dorms sucked, but this bed was also comfier than any other bed you've been on.
You closed your eyes, listening to the sound of the water coming from Regina's bathroom. You heard her come out of the bathroom at some point. She was walking around the room, doing a bunch of things but you were too lazy to open your eyes and see what.
The bed dipped and you felt her slide into the space next to you. The smell of her floral body wash and shampoo flooding your sense.
Her lips pressed against your cheek and her hand found it's way up your shirt to rest on your stomach to trace patterns around your belly button. You smiled and squirmed a little cause it tickled. You felt her smile against your cheek and she pressed a quick kiss to your lips before pulling away.
"Hey." You mumbled in protest, cracking an eye open to see she was adjusting the towel for her hair.
She laughed at your impatience and got herself comfortable again, supporting her head with her hand to keep it off her pillows for now. Her other hand found its way to the waistband of your pants, twirling the drawstring.
"These look good on you. Pink is totally your color." You grunted and she laughed through her nose. "I definitely need to see the back in action though. Give me a little turn." She nudged your hip and you let out a loud laugh, turning on your stomach for her. "So gorg, babe!" She was laughing with you, her hand coming down to smack your ass cheek a few times, which sent you both into a fit of giggles.
She wrapped an arm around you and buried her face between your shoulder blades. You tugged her arm to pull her closer to you and laced your fingers together. She shifted behind you and the towel on her head went zooming across the room. You settled deeper into her chest and her grip around you tightened.
"Will you need a ride back to school tomorrow?"
"I was just gonna take the train back."
"Ew, no. I'll take you to get your stuff from your dad's and we can go together
"Cool, thank you." You nodded, feeling yourself start to fall asleep. Regina kissed the back of your head and began to pull away.
"I need to do my skin and hair routine. Get under the covers and go to sleep."
"S'fine." You mumbled, already too far gone and making no effort to move whatsoever.

My thoughts about Deltarune, Chapters 3 & 4 (Part 4)
Continuing where I left off:
❤️ <( After doing some things in Castle Town, we went back to the Light World to explore, dropped Tenna off at Happy's (Mettaton) house, and went back to Kris's house to "borrow" money from Asriel drawer just for this:
❤️ <( My dorks deserve the best, so I wanted to give them a moment of chill and fun. It was really cute and worth it.
This was my drawing by the way...
❤️ <( *smirks* Shh... just doing Kris a bit of trolling.
❤️ <( After some misunderstandings about the rose that Kris kept to feed Susie later and Noelle believing it was for her… (for a moment I thought Noelle would get jealous thinking that Kris was confessing their love to Susie with the rose or something *smirks*)
❤️ <( We finally arrived at Noelle's house, and I've to say it's very beautiful, both inside and out. It was a lot of fun to explore. 😊
Once we sat down on the couch to talk, Berdly called Noelle to pester her about being his date for the festival, but Susie grabbed the phone, shut his bird ass, sent the phone flying (thank you very much), and then she explained to Noelle that she needs to start saying "no" to other people, and she was like:
❤️ <( Deer one, did you forget you have antlers up? You can always… never mind, let's not give her any more ideas with Berdly *chuckles*
After that, Susie asked us to go look for clues while she entertained Noelle, and then we picked up the phone to troll Berdly a little.
❤️ <( I don't know how Kris knows the song, but the bird answered us anyway and…
❤️ <( "Did you hear anything, Kris? Yeah, me neither, carry on..."
After that, we entered Dess's room and did a little research.
❤️ <( "So… your friend Dess was sort of a punk/rocker deer who was kind of rebellious, liked military stuff and causing some mayhem, was probably in a relationship with Asriel, was good at sports, and could play any kind of instrument, right? Sounds like a cool girl to me, but she probably had many clashes with her mom for this, no?
I don't know why, but I just pictured her now listening to "System Of A Down" from "Chop Suey!" somehow..."
Anyway, we went to check the guitar, found the shelter's code and…
❤️ <( !!!!!!
❤️ <( Excuse me...? What do you think you're doing?
❤️ <( Well... I was a little in shock from what Kris did, but I managed to get out of the box and escape through the vent.
❤️ <( *humming "Metal Gear Solid - Encounter" while moving*
❤️ <( There they are! Hey, what are they doi…?
❤️ <( This is the moment when my awe for Kris got broken for a bit and then things got spicy... like really mad...
I'll show it when the next post is ready.

“(Y/N), I know this may come off as a shock, but I love you too much to hide it from you anymore. I’m actually… the Spider-Woman!”
PJ dramatically pulled off the red mask from her face, striking a pose, earning a laugh from Hazel.
The trio were putting away the equipment they used for the Fight club after all the other members had left the gym— and by that it meant Josie and Hazel were putting away equipments while PJ thought it was a fun idea to dig through Hazel’s backpack to pull out her Spider-Woman mask, put it on, and start doing cartwheels and other nonsense around the gym floor.
“Okay, why don’t you actually help us clean up, PJ,” Josie complained, folding up the floor mats, “Instead of blowing Hazel’s cover?”
“Fine,” PJ rolled her eyes before throwing the mask back to Hazel, who caught it reflexively just as it was about to hit her face. “But even if anyone saw me with the mask, it’s not like they would believe any of us losers could possibly be the amazing Spider-Woman.”
PJ threw a playful grin at Hazel who folded the mask and hid it in her backpack. PJ had been begging her to reveal her superhero identity for a while, saying that it would raise all of their social levels right to the top. Josie, in reverse, begged Hazel not to reveal her identity, especially given the risks involved.
“But what if you just told (Y/N)? Then, she’ll fall in love with you, then automatically she’ll hang out with us more, and by association she’ll bring Isabel and Brittany with her!” PJ argued, still unwilling to drop the topic.
“Yeah, and then the next villain that wants to kill Hazel will take the people she loves as hostage,” Josie warned. “In fact– I know we’ve been doing the self-defense club for a while and it’s been going pretty well so far, but Hazel has exposed herself way too much.”
PJ groaned, indicating her impatience with Josie’s cautious approach. “Okay what part of this is too much? All Hazel’s doing is lightly punching and kicking a bunch of girls.”
“Was it the backflip?” Hazel chimed in.
“Yes, it was the backflip!” Josie blurted. “And we can’t keep saying ‘there’s all sorts of people who teach you stuff in juvie’ as an excuse anymore.”
“But the club is working!” PJ insisted, flailing her arms towards the gym. “Girls are actually acknowledging us in the hallways, I’ve gotten 3 high fives just this afternoon, and girls– the hot ones know our names. And also Female solidarity and whatever. The club is working!”
“I know. I feel like if we keep it up, you guys might actually be able to take down some crime in the area.”
“No, if we keep it up we can put our fingers inside of each other, grow up, Hazel.”
Josie crossed her arms. “Whatever. It’s your call.”
“I do feel like people are liking more than just the hitting and the tackling part of the club.”
The club had moved onto catfights on the gym floor, and it was no secret to Hazel that she always looked forward to these training sessions, particularly when it came to her interactions with you. All the punching, kicking, and rolling around the floor was more than what Hazel believed she deserved, but she couldn’t help but crave a deeper connection with you. And the weekly lunch meetings to make the ‘women murdered in history’ project weren’t exactly enough to get to know each other.
PJ shrugged. “Yeah, I know, we’re empowering them. Duh.”
“No, I mean, seriously, to have a safe space like this, it means a lot to people, and I think if we took some time to spend a meeting and actually get to know these girls, like, it would be really important instead of just…” Hazel pictured the time you were on top of her, pinning her down with your feeble strength, bodies pressed close– so close– as you grappled each other on the floor, listening to the chants and cheers of the girls circling around. Her voice trailed off. “...sweating on them.”
PJ and Josie paused, then looked at each other with an incredulous smile.
“Hazel, that is… genuinely a brilliant idea.”
“I love talking about my trauma.”
Hazel squinted. “That’s not really–”
“-I literally jack off after every single therapy session. It just makes girls weirdly horny.”
Josie shook her head. “Don’t say ‘girls’. It’s just you.”
“Okay!” Hazel interrupted, fearing someone walking in midst of the conversation that turned weird thanks to PJ, as always. “I’ll just email the group about our next meeting.”
You walked into the gym with an excited grin. Fight club was the one thing you looked forward to in school nowadays— it was the only place you felt truly safe and comfortable, with only girl members (minus Mr. G, but he was an ally) who cheered you on with every weak punch that you threw.
Hazel noticed you walking in and waved to you, and you noticed that the format of the club had changed today. Everyone was sitting in a circle, like one of those sharing sessions in kindergarten times. You joined the circle in between Krystal and Hazel, who grinned like an idiot when you sat beside her.
“What’s going on?” You whispered to her, but Josie answered your question.
“So, we know that this club has been a place where we can feel empowered physically, but we also thought it could be a safe space and a place where we can open up and talk about our feelings.”
You nodded along as the girls began to talk about themselves— Sylvie with her stepdad, Stella with her stalker, and Brittany with her jewelry business— and you realized that although you had been fighting each other for a while, you never knew that much about the girls. You listened tentatively to each of their stories, but to your honesty, you were quite distracted by your project partner, who kept opening her mouth, then closed them continuously. She seemed to be contemplating whether or not to open up. Your curiosity piqued, and when your eyes met with her’s, you encouraged her with a supportive look.
Hazel smiled at your aid. She didn’t really know how to talk about the biggest secret that she held about her superpower, but your expression was so supporting– too supporting, that she found herself speaking out.
“Well, ever since…” Hazel began, her mind racing to find the right words.
I’ve been bitten by a radioactive spider,
“...My parent’s divorce,”
I’ve been doing this, like, superhero stuff after school. I don’t even know if I’m doing this right, you know?
“My mom’s been doing this, like, mid-life crisis. I don’t know how that’s sitting with me, you know?”
And it’s just me swinging through buildings and beating criminals up and handing them over to the police who hate me because I’m a faceless vigilante but the entire neighborhood depends on me because some of these criminals are genuinely insane. I’ve broken bones, I’ve fallen through roofs, I got impaled once, that was fun— and it just feels so incredibly amazing but so burdening, all the same time.
“And it's been really really dark.”
She took a glance at you, who was nodding through her words, returning her gaze with tender understanding.
“This has just been really meaningful to me to, like, get to know some new people-”
(Y/N).
“-Who actually wants to, like, get to know me.”
You felt a surge of empathy for Hazel. You could hear the vulnerability shining through her words— it must have been hard to find good friends after experiencing such hardship. You couldn’t help but come to admire her even more.
You raised your hand. “And I just wanted to say that I think it’s very hard to find a good and safe community in school for girls, and I’m really grateful to Hazel for founding this club,” You gushed. “It's really brave of you— and your friends— to take your past and turn it into something so amazing for us. So, thank you.”
Hazel grinned like an idiot, fidgeting with her hair as her face burned up.
“Get a room, you two,” PJ intervened with a smirk. “But seriously, I just want to circle back to what Brittany was saying–”
“-I would like to go next, if that’s okay.” Josie raised her hand.
PJ was obviously discontented, but Josie started anyway.
“I don’t really like talking about juvie and everything that happened over the summer, um, you know, we get a lot of props or whatever cause people think it's so badass, But, really wasn’t. I mean, unless you consider getting hazed horrifically every single night, like, badass. I mean, obviously, you know, we had to survive the tributes, and you know, I did have to, like, fight people basically every single night. People were betting on us and we were given shivs and rusty pocket knives and splintered wood and, um, pipes as well.”
Hazel furrowed her eyebrows. No one’s going to believe this, She thought, turning to look at Isabel—
–Who had the most distressed look on her face?
Oh, Hazel blinked, shocked that Josie’s improvised monologue is working. There were almost tears glistening in Isabel’s eyes. She assumed Isabel to be the only one, then she turned to look at you— and your hand was on your mouth, eyes filled with woe.
“And we had to just like, fight people, sometimes to the death,” Josie added.
Hazel frowned. This wasn’t good.
Josie continued.
“And I still hear their screams at night and that guilt probably will, like, always shackle me forever. And sometimes people still try to attack us in the streets for revenge, or try to blackmail us into doing bad things with them, but I realize now, I don’t have to be that person anymore. We don’t have to be like that anymore. We don’t have to just let things happen to us. Because of you guys. And I am just really grateful for what the club has become and… just especially, you know, from where we started and, uh…”
Hazel’s eyes were leaping out of her face as she gestured to Josie to tone it down. She frantically shook her head, indicating that Josie’s speech had much more effect than she thought it would.
“Yeah, sorry,” Josie caught on, ending her facade quickly. “I feel like I kinda killed the vibe. I’ve never really, I guess, said that to anyone before, sorry.”
There was a silence that Hazel felt the need to break. This was bad– she knew Josie liked talking about her trauma, but she didn't expect Josie to make up the most devastating, hunger-games type of trauma in front of you.
“But juvie also wasn’t that bad,” Hazel blurted. “I mean it’s probably way less scary than adult prison, and it really builds character–”
You turned to look at Hazel who was rambling about the positive effects of juvie. Your heart broke at the sight of panic on her face– how harsh were the conditions of juvie that Hazel felt the need to protect her trauma?
Josie cut in. “Yeah, okay, people wanna wrap up maybe or…”
“I’m going through a divorce.”
Everyone turned to Mr. G.
“Whoo! That shit felt good to say.” Mr. G beamed, his leg stretched out as a free spirit. “Whoo, I tell y’all. Men… men need therapy.”
Josie stood up. “Yeah… I think that’s a good place to maybe wrap up.”
“What was that?” Hazel asked.
Josie shrugged, putting on her jacket. “I don’t… I don’t really–”
“-I mean, you were just bullshitting from A to Z with no breaks in between. I didn’t know you were such an actress, Josie.” PJ laughed, playfully shoving Josie’s shoulder. “You should think about that, for your future career.”
Hazel did not laugh. “Josie, you were the one who told me not to be ‘too much.’”
“I don’t think it was too much. I think it was the exact amount of oomph we needed as a group.” PJ grabbed her shoes from the floor. “It made us look vulnerable but also tough.”
“I don’t think (Y/N) was thinking that.”
“Okay, How do you know what (Y/N) was thinking?”
“I don’t, but I could see her–”
“-Maybe she’ll tell you herself,” PJ said, pointing behind Hazel.
Hazel spun around to see you walking towards her. She immediately straightened herself, touching up her hair as you waved to her.
“Hazel.”
Hazel gulped in response.
“So, I was wondering if you wanted to finish the project today?” You asked, giving a shrug. “If you’re not busy. I know you’re always kind of busy and that’s why we just always did our project during lunch, but–”
“-I’m not busy!” Hazel exclaimed, before mentally slapping herself for being too eager. “I mean, today sounds good. Today is perfect.”
“Okay!” It was your turn to be eager, giving a nod before pointing to the girls locker room. “I’ll just get my bag, and I’ll be right back.”
As you slipped into the locker room, PJ and Josie slid towards Hazel with a curious look.
“It didn’t look like she was angry,” PJ commented with a grin. “So, in conclusion, today was a huge success. Do you guys want to get chicken on a stick to celebrate?”
“I… I think I’m hanging out with (Y/N).” Hazel gaped, as if she couldn’t believe that this was actually happening. She was going to hang out with you. Today. Outside of school.
“Right now?”
“Right now!” Hazel gasped. “Oh my god, I don’t know why I said yes, I have to go and patrol the neighborhood–”
“-Ugh, Hazel!” PJ groaned, grabbing Hazel by the shoulders. “That’s literally all you do. You go to school, you come to the fight club, then you patrol the neighborhood. That’s all you do.”
“But—” Hazel sputtered. “-Crime–”
“-Hazel, Crime has been pretty low recently. The world isn’t going to burn down just because you miss patrol for a single day,” PJ countered, as if speaking to a child. “Do you trust me? It’s all about faith. That’s all it is. Leap of faith, Hazel. Leap of faith. Trust me when I say the police can deal with all the petty crimes. Go and enjoy yourself, finish your project, and remember to use protection.”
Hazel’s cheeks grew hot as she opened her mouth to counter PJ— just as you approached the trio with your bag.
“Hey, Hazel. Ready to go?”
Hazel buffered, her mind still on the sexual innuendo. She couldn’t help but think about certain activities when you stood there with your signature smile, earning a cackle from PJ.
“Sorry, we were just talking about juvie trauma and shit. She’s all yours.” PJ earnestly pushed Hazel towards you. “See you guys tomorrow!”
PJ skipped out of the gym, followed by Josie who gave Hazel a thumbs-up. Hazel responded to Josie with a nod. PJ was right– it was just for a day. Just one day off to hang out with you– which was the dream– and tomorrow, she would patrol twice as hard to make it up.
“Sorry, I just was thinking about-” Hazel faltered. “-things.”
“Things?”
Hazel felt the room get hotter. “It’s fine. Not really important.”
“Alright. So, where do you want to go?” You asked.
“Uh…”
Hazel thought about what PJ had said.
Leap of faith, was it?
And she took the leap.
“Do you want to come over to my place?”
By 8PM, the two of you found yourself in Hazel’s room, caught in a fit of laughter. Pizza and snacks were strewn across her bed, and music played out from her laptop as you wrapped up the project— a lego diorama with a bunch of famous murdered women. It was quite inappropriate but also incredibly creative, and the ridiculousness of it all had you two in stitches.
“I bet you 5 dollars that Mr. G doesn’t even have an actual degree,” You joked, adding a lego version of Casey Becker to the diorama. “He just showed up one day, and Principal Meyers desperately needed more teachers.”
“And ever since the club, he’s just been handing out As to every single girl,” Hazel laughed, causing you to fall into a fit of giggles as well. She lived for your laughter, thanking PJ and Josie in her head for convincing her to skip patrol for the day.
“Okay, I think we’re almost done. Just have to add the blood.” You grabbed the bottle of red paint and dropped some on your fingertip, then dabbed it around the lego characters’ bodies to create the ‘murder’ effect.
In the process, you somehow managed to smudge some on your cheek, which didn’t go unnoticed by Hazel who had made a habit of staring at you all the time.
“Oh, you got some on your…” Hazel tried, pointing to your face.
You blinked, eyes focusing on her face as you registered her words. You chuckled in embarrassment, trying to find the paint on your cheeks and obviously failing.
“Can I…?” Hazel breathed, and you tilted your head, allowing her to wipe away the streak of paint with her thumb. Her fingers moved delicately across your cheek, her eyes locked onto your’s. You could feel the warmth of her hand on your skin, and you melted against it. Hazel’s touch lingered on your cheek for a moment longer than necessary, and Hazel realized only after she had savored the view for a while.
She pulled away, breaking your gaze with a sheepish smile. Your cheeks were tinted with a soft blush, and you muttered a word of thanks before finishing off the project with distractingly loud heartbeats.
The two of you stared at the finalized diorama in proud silence, taking in the project in its glory. It was messy and odd, but it was still illustrious.
“Well, I guess we’re finished!” You clapped your hands to commemorate the ending of you and Hazel’s homework.
“It’s been fun working with you,” Hazel replied, a little disappointed that this was the end of the project. What excuse did she have to hang out with you now?
You cocked your head. “Oh, don’t act like this is the last time we’re ever going to hang out together.”
“Really?”
“Of course!” You grinned. “With Mr. G’s class, lunch, and the self-defense club, I’m going to be with you all the time. You might even get sick of me at some point.”
I’m not sure that’s possible, Hazel thought to herself, really pleased that she had secured friendship with you.
“Speaking of the self-defense club, I’m really glad that you invited me,” You continued, wiping your red hands with a nearby paper towel. “I was being honest during the sharing circle. I’m really grateful for you.”
Hazel softened at your words.
“And I hope your mom gets better with her mid-life crisis,” You added.
“Thank you.” Although you had complimented her, Hazel couldn’t help but feel a bit guilty about the sharing circle. She was lying to you– continuously. Was that a good base for a relationship? Not that you two had a relationship. Not that she didn’t want one. “Listen– what Josie said about juvie today, I think I have to clarify some things.”
You shook your head. You had purposefully left out that subject not to trigger her– and you didn’t want to make it feel like she owed you her history. “Oh, Hazel, you don’t need to explain anything to me. I get that it’s a hard subject to talk about, and I just want you to know that I’m here if you need anything.”
Hazel hesitated. She supposed if you didn’t really want to hear the explanation, she could keep her secret—
“-I mean what you went through was brutal and inhumane,” You continued.
Hazel’s guilt suffocated her.
“But you endured through it. You’re so brave. And so strong and just… honest. Like I can tell that everything that you do is genuine. You make me feel like I can be strong too—”
“-Okay, I need to tell you something,” Hazel interrupted. She couldn’t handle it anymore— but she knew she couldn’t tell you the whole truth. She took a deep breath before continuing. “There are some things happening in my life right now that I can’t really… talk about. But I want to. But I can’t. It’s for your safety and I shouldn’t even be mentioning that but… you really matter to me.”
Oh my god, I can’t believe I said that.
Hazel swallowed hard and gazed at you for a reaction.
“I do?” You peered back at Hazel’s reddened face. She nodded in response and it was your turn to be flustered, not knowing what to say.
“And I… I want to be honest with you,” Hazel pressed on. “I can’t tell you the whole truth. But I—”
“-Dispatch, we have a 10-90 in progress at the bank downtown. Requesting immediate backup and EMT support.”
Shit.
Shit shit shit.
Hazel quickly grabbed her laptop, which she had rigged to eavesdrop on police communications. She forgot that it automatically turned on after school. Why did it have to be now, of all fucking times?
“Was that the police?” You asked, confused.
Hazel shook her head frantically. “No, I just– it’s just another, uhm, project that I’m working on, it’s fine–”
“-Copy that. Units en route. Proceed with caution.”
“We have eyes on the suspects, attempting to establish a perimeter.”
“10-4, be advised, we’ve informed EMTs, and SWAT is en route. Keep us updated.”
Hazel hastily began typing, searching up the latest updates on the current news of the town. She managed to find the location of the bank robbery— which had everything Hazel feared for. Armed robbers, high-tech weaponry, and injured police officers.
“Fuck, I knew I shouldn’t have skipped today,” Hazel muttered under her breath.
You paused. “Skip what?”
“I—” Hazel swallowed, inner conflict evident as she spoke. “-I think I have to go.”
“Go?” You paused. “Hazel, what is going on?”
Hazel didn’t answer. Instead, she stood up and grabbed her phone and her backpack, briskly heading towards the door. But you were faster, quickly running and positioning yourself in the path to block her way.
“I think I know what’s going on,” you claimed, your voice low and heavy.
Hazel froze. Oh no. You knew. You knew? How did you know? Had she been so obvious? Was it the back flip?
“(Y/N), I can explain–”
“-This is related to juvie, isn’t it?”
Hazel blinked.
“What?”
She stared at you, who looked incredibly serious, with lips pursed tight in worry. Hazel shook her head frantically. She wanted to kick PJ for even coming up with that excuse– now it was getting all tangled up with you and her hero work.
“No! It has nothing to do with juvie,” Hazel assured, trying to get past you.
“You don’t have to lie to me, Hazel.”
Hazel furrowed her eyebrows.
I kind of do.
You understood her expression as guilt. “And obviously I don’t understand fully what’s going on but if what Josie said was true and some things are happening with the people you messed with from juvie, then, I want to help you.”
You stepped closer and took her hand, holding it tight with genuinity.
“Hazel, I care about you.”
Hazel released her breath.
If you had said that in any other context, Hazel would have kissed you right there and then. Your hands felt so warm, so gentle– a bit shaky, as if you were afraid of what she would do if you let go. And your unwavering eyes– upset eyes that made it seem like her worries belonged to you too— And it took everything in Hazel to swallow back her words, gently guiding you to her bed and sitting you down.
For a moment, you thought she would stay.
But Hazel pulled away from you..
“I’ll be back soon, okay? Just please, stay here, and I’ll be back,” Hazel whispered. “I promise.”
And after a regretful look, she was gone.
“Hazel—” You called after her. “Hazel!”
Your mind began to race– where was she going? All you remembered from the police transmissions was something about the bank and the SWAT team. You reached for your phone, searching up the local news. It wasn’t hard to find articles related to the current conflict—
Masked Robbers Employ High-Tech Arsenal in Bank Heist, Defying Police Response
Bank Heist Nightmare Unfolds; Thieves Utilize Cutting-Edge Tech
Bank Robbery in Progress: Impossible to Arrest, Police Say
Police Overwhelmed in Ongoing Standoff at 1st Street National Trust Bank
This was bad. Bank robbery? High-Tech Arsenal? It sounded dangerous– more than whatever Hazel could handle, no matter how strong she was during the self-defense club. What was she going to do with these criminals? Did she owe them something? She was always writing stuff in her notebook— did it have anything to do with this?
You ignored the questions stemming from your fear– you didn’t have time to think. Hazel was out there— and she was very clearly heading to an angry, dangerous scene.
But Hazel was just a girl.
And you had to protect her.
You had to save Hazel Callahan.

Not All That Glitters is Gold Part 15
The second part being released today. And it's looking like people really want more of this AU. Which, I really should have seen coming.
So once I get my backlog up for Moonlight and Indiana (I just need to write one more chapter each to get the stories up to three chapters) I will start working on it for you.
And because I've been zooming past my daily goal of 400 words a day (I'll often get 1500-2000 words a day) I've decided as a way to pump the breaks so that I don't get too far ahead again is to spend my evenings editing stories for my beta to edit for AO3. I already have one in the works, I'm just waiting for her final edits to put it up on AO3.
In this we have Steve being awesome at what he does, he dodges one hell of a bullet because Robin is awesome, and Eddie falls just a little more in love with Steve.
Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5 Part 6 Part 7 Part 8 Part 9 Part 10 Part 11 Part 12 Part 13 Part 14
****
Steve was busy leading up to Eddie’s rut, Chrissy being right about him getting more clients just from being on Eddie’s arm.
Everyone clamoring to see what it was that made Eddie fall head over heels in love with the omega escort.
Steve ate up the attention. He had talked to Eddie about the actress and how it made him feel.
Suddenly Eddie was all apologies. The actress was a good friend of his and he had just been so excited to see her that he forgot what it would look like to Steve. Especially since Eddie hadn’t introduced them. Plus it had left Steve open to Tommy’s sneering.
Steve had backpedaled then. He hadn’t meant for Eddie to make a big deal out of it. He had thought that Eddie would apologize, they’d fuck about it and Steve would learn that with Eddie being as famous as he was, Steve would just have to learn to share him.
But Eddie wouldn’t let him. He had hurt Steve’s feelings over something that he could have and should have avoided. Now he knew why Tommy’s words had stung as badly as they had.
So he showered Steve with all the affection in the world. Taking him on picnics to the beach one day and bowling and miniature golf the next. Fancy dinners and shopping sprees. Intimate to formal, fun to stately. Concerts and plays.
Every spare moment Steve had was spent being wined and dined by Eddie.
The courting was intense, but then again so was Steve. He liked intense, he was intense.
Steve was getting ready for a final rut, before Eddie’s next week when Robin called him up.
“Hey, what’s up?” Steve asked in confusion. “What’s up?”
“Management just flagged the client.”
Steve’s blood ran cold. It took a lot for management to flag a client. They always did checks on their clients before letting them hire their escorts. But sometimes they’ll do a deeper check if they feel something is off.
“What caused the flag?”
“Something in the wording,” Robin said. “I had been trying to pin down where I had heard it before. It was only yesterday I realized it sounded like some of the stuff the alpha from the Grammy’s was spouting as we hauled his ass out of the venue.”
If Steve was cold before, now his spine was ice. “Holy shit.”
Robin hummed her agreement. “So I had Hopper dig deeper. It’s–it’s not good, Steve.”
“Just tell me.”
“The idiot had used his real accounts to plot your kidnapping after going through all the work to hide who he was to the company,” Robin said grimly.
Steve sat down on the sofa with a thump. “Was he–did he know where I–Robin I’m scared.”
“I’m already in the elevator, babe,” she said softly. “He doesn’t know where you live or even where Eddie lives, okay? Starcourt alerted his security detail as soon as the plot was uncovered.”
Steve breathed out a sigh of relief. “That’s good. Will I still be able to service his rut?”
“Yes,” she said, “I’m at your door, I’ll tell you all about it, face to face, okay?”
“Okay.”
Robin let herself in and hurried over to the sofa to throw her arms around him.
“Everything is okay,” she promised. “There hasn’t been a successful kidnapping of a Starcourt omega since the 1940s. Trust us, we’ve got this on lock.”
Steve nodded. “Tell me about Eddie’s rut.”
Robin grinned mischievously. “You’re going to love it.”
“Oh?” Steve’s interest was piqued. That interest drew him from his fear and anxiety, just like she knew it would.
“It’s going to happen here.”
Steve’s jaw dropped. “Holy shit!”
“It gets even better,” Robin said sing-song.
“How could it get any better than that?” Steve asked once he had picked his jaw up off the floor.
“Management is letting him know where you live,” she squealed.
Steve’s hands went to cover his mouth. “Shut up! Tell me everything!”
So she did.
She broke down what would happen if Eddie’s rut broke through the scent.
She went over the different things that would happen due to it being in Steve’s room with his nest, but it was amazing news.
“What made them decide to let Eddie in on the secret?” Steve asked when she was done.
Robin set down her tablet she had used to go over all the information and turned her full attention to him.
“Because he tried to cancel his rut servicing with you but with you still getting paid because he was worried that you might be followed to his place,” Robin explained.
Steve blushed a deep red.
“Oh.”
“Yeah.”
He looked up at her with glistening eyes. “He really loves me, doesn’t he?”
“Yes, yes he does.”
****
Steve didn’t have any other clients that week, so he spent the week getting his penthouse suite ready for his alpha. He already knew Eddie’s favorite snacks and how he could just eat handfuls and handfuls of trail mix as long as there weren’t raisins. So Steve subtly tried out other dried fruits and found he loved dried apricots. So those replaced the raisins.
Protein shakes were okay as long as they had some chocolate in them. But he could tell if there was any herbs to them. Thyme, basil, you name it, if it was there, Eddie wouldn’t drink them.
It was actually kind of fun tailoring the rut servicing to what Eddie enjoyed. Cotton sheets over satin. Certain brand of bottled water. How often he was lucid during the five days.
His nest was carefully packed away into another room, so that Eddie’s scent didn’t get embedded into the materials. There would be plenty of time for that when they bonded, doing it too soon could result in a faux bond and Steve would get sick.
Which was the last thing either of them wanted.
Steve was fluffing the pillows for the millionth time when Robin radioed that Eddie was about to pull up. He made his way to the front of the hotel and watched as Xander pulled up to the curb.
Eddie stepped out onto the pavement and looked up at the hotel in shock.
“La Rose?” he asked Steve in confusion. “Isn’t this where we met up for drinks after my interview?”
Steve grinned, taking Eddie’s bag from Xander. They walked past the hotel bar and Eddie turned to him.
“Holy shit!” he gasped. “It is! I thought we met up here.”
Steve giggled. “We did. I just came down the elevator instead of arriving by car.”
“How the hell did you manage that?” he asked, bumping Steve’s shoulder with his own.
“Robin,” Steve said proudly. “She can work any magic she wants to with management. I swear she has blackmail information on key members.”
Eddie threw back his head and laughed. “That sounds like Buckley.”
They finally got to Steve’s floor and he pointed to a room to the far right. “That is where you’ll be taken if I go into a mini heat.”
“Wouldn’t they want me to be far away from you as possible?” Eddie asked.
Steve shook his head. “They want to whisk you away to a nearby room on the same floor so your scent could calm me down and help me through my heat. If they took you off the premises I could get rejection sickness.”
Eddie blinked at him a moment.
“Oh.”
Steve smiled and led the way to the door that would lead to his apartment. He opened the door and moved out of the way so Eddie could enter first.
“Wow, Stevie,” Eddie murmured. “This is amazing. You live here all by yourself?”
“On this floor,” Steve answered. “Have a seat, we’ll talk about the coming rut and then get you settled. I’ll just put your bag in my bedroom.”
Eddie did as he was told, sitting on the nice fluffy sofa.
“All right,” Steve said, sliding onto the sofa next to Eddie. “So walk me through your ruts, what happens?”
Eddie squirmed a little. This was Steve Harrington, professional escort, and not Stevie, his hot omega boyfriend speaking.
“My pre-ruts start hard and fast,” he said, rubbing his chin in thought. “Then they last five days and I’m barely lucid through them. It’s how I got caught by that omega who told me they were infertile. I wasn’t conscious for much of it.”
Steve nodded. “When do you lower the light in wherever it is that you spend your rut?”
Eddie blinked at him. “Lower the lights, what do you mean? You don’t have sex with the lights on?”
“You’ve always had light on during your ruts, even at night?” Steve asked, tilting his head to the side.
“Not lucid enough to turn them off,” he said with a shrug.
Steve picked up a remote from the coffee table and closed the drapes and dimmed the lights.
He could see the physical change that came over Eddie. His shoulders relaxed and his eyelids drooped. His skin color which had been pale and clammy when he arrived was starting to get color back in his cheeks.
He tilted his head up as he examined the lights. “What is this feeling? I feel warm and drowsy.”
Steve sighed. “It’s how ruts are supposed to start. But it’s not mentioned in health class or anything. The bright lights signify to our poor little lizard brains that we’re still out in the open where we can be attacked, instead of safe in our caves. It wasn’t until the advent of modern light that it was ever a problem for alphas, but the science of it has come a long way in recent years.”
“Huh.”
Eddie rubbed his chin thoughtfully. “You think that’s why I’ve had trouble staying lucid because I’ve been forcing myself to be on high alert all the time?”
“Could be,” Steve agreed. “But even if it isn’t, you can trust me to keep you safe. I will not trick you and I will not harm you. You want condoms on all the time, I will be sure to change them as often as required. I’ve been on birth control for twelve weeks as you requested.”
Eddie blushed. “Thanks for sending me the video of you taking the pill every day, that must have been so humiliating for you.”
Steve shrugged. “I’m an escort, the amount of humiliating things I’ve had to do, that doesn’t even make the top twenty.”
“What, now?”
Steve laughed. “Alphas will sometimes hire us for humiliation roleplays. Did a fair number of those before I was big enough to reject them. But I know a couple of omegas that live for that shit, so if a new omega is really uncomfortable with it, the roleplay will be passed to one of them.”
Eddie blinked again. “Darlin’, the more I learn about your profession the more intrigued I am.”
“At least you’re intrigued,” Steve chuckled. “Most aren’t. They tend to be pearl clutchers about it.”
“Not even the highest paid actresses have to do the kind of work you do,” Eddie breathed. “Why aren’t there award shows for you escorts?”
Steve smiled sweetly. “Because it’s all confidential. But maybe I can convince a couple of my friends to do our own version of that for booze and prizes. I think it’d be a hit.”
Eddie grinned. “Oh to be a fly on that wall.”
Steve reached out and rubbed his arm. “How are you feeling? Is the pre-rut still progressing or have you hit full rut yet?”
Eddie frowned as he took stock of his body.
“Still in pre-heat,” he said thoughtfully. “Huh. My uncle was a beta, so he wasn’t able to teach me this sort of shit, but you would have thought that someone along the line would have said something.”
“The education in this country is still woefully behind for anything regarding sex,” Steve said ruefully.
Eddie snorted. That was like calling a hurricane a little summer storm.
“But at least they teach you this shit,” he said.
Steve grinned. “Indeed they do teach me this shit.”
He got to his feet and gently led Eddie to the bedroom. He got undressed and sat down on the bed. He took Eddie’s hand and directed it to his thighs.
“Is it time, baby?” Eddie murmured, looking down at this beautiful, smart, talented omega in utter awe.
“Almost, alpha,” Steve purred. “But being in bed when it hits is easier on the knees.”
Eddie cackled and Steve’s omega chirped happily.
“Oh, sweetheart,” he cooed back, “the things that cute little noise does to me.”
Steve laid down on the bed, as pretty as a picture and oh how Eddie wanted.
He got undressed and slid the first condom on. He straddled Steve’s hips and kissed him deeply.
“Oh, Stevie,” he murmured. “I feel so good.”
Steve stroked Eddie’s cheek. “And I promise it will continue to feel good for the next five days.”
Eddie looked into his eyes and believed him.

Leo missed having nights like these. The five of them, watching movies late into the evening and early into the mornings. Bowls of popcorn emptied within the first fifteen minutes, stacks of pizza for them to scarf down, liters upon liters of soda, boxes of candy for everyone to enjoy, and plenty of pillows and blankets so that not a single square foot of the concrete and metal-grated floor was exposed. The classic Hamato-O'Neil sleepover extravaganza.
Leo battled April with their typical pun battles, where one would make a joke using wordplay, and the other would have to follow suit with a similar or related word. Leo started off saying that all her jokes would be 'cheesy'. April assured him they were all 'gouda'. Leo retorted that her jokes 'were like swiss cheese -- too many holes'. And so on and so forth, gaining complaints and boos from the rest of the group as they went on. Raph brought out all his cuddlies and stuffies, letting each sibling take one for comfort... should they decide to watch any scary movies. Their energy came in waves, the first dissipating after the first J.J. film. They paused, had some food and snacks, watch some 'Try Not To Laugh' challenges, failed the challenges, and then the second wave hit. Donnie set up a special game he'd heard about and fixated over for them all to play. At some point, Mikey started laughing too loudly and accidentally screamed in April's ear. Leo was making fun of the characters with his colour commentary and annoyed Donnie into pushing him off the couch. Raph decided it would be cool to see if a mint in Vitamin Water and shaking it would have the same effect as a Mentos in Diet Coke. News flash, it did.
So the night was going really great!
Leo cackled as he pulled Donnie off the couch with him. Raph panicked and dropped the bottle once it started foaming and exploding, and April grabbed the drink and used it as a weapon against them. Donnie started a massive pillow fight and created a battlefield. Once their second wave of energy had depleted, and the pizza boxes were all but empty, they settled down to continue the movie night. It was really nice, having everyone over together like this. Leo tried to recall the last time they'd gotten together like this and had a massive celebration...
Mikey laughed as he pointed to the screen, cackling madly. Raphael had fallen asleep watching Jupiter Jim's Pluto Vacation 4 and broken the coffee table with his face again. Donnie and April groaned loudly, but Leo and Mikey high-fived with glee.
Just another fun family night. One Leo was so extremely grateful for. Though, he didn't have any real need to feel that way. The Shredder was locked away, Big Mama was not causing any problems (that they knew of), and his family had never felt closer since Splinter had shared the a good portion of his past with them. Everything was... perfect. Sure, things had been kind of rocky before. Concerning Leo's portals needing more experience, the secrets that Splinter kept from them about their origins, Draxum being a villain, and the Shredder's resurrection. Among other things. They needed a night like this. To unwind, relax, take it easy and have a laugh. They were all just teenagers, after all.
Leo leaned back in his sleeping back, propped up with pillows to form a cocoon throne. He chuckled softly at Raph's light snoring, Mikey drawing pictures on his face, April putting curlers into Mayhem's hair and through Donnie's mask tails...
His eyes grew heavy.
Leo fell asleep.
"Leo, wake up, Leo!"
"Can he hear us? I think he can --"
"How do we know this will work?"
"It just will. It has to."
"Don't give up on us, Leo... C'mon, get up... get up...!"
"Leo?"
Leo's eyes fluttered open. He yawned, and turned over in his sleeping bag.
"Wake me'up... wh'n iz... morn'n....."
No one responded. The lair was silent. Leo couldn't even hear the movie playing.
He sat up slowly, glancing around to see if the others had all fallen asleep as well. No one was here. The projector was still running softly, but there was no sound, no image. Just TV snow -- static buzzing across the screen as the machine whirred and whined with exhaustion. Huh. Weird, he'd never known the projector to do that... Leo tilted his head in confusion. The screen blinked at him oddly. The static took soft shapes Leo could almost swear he saw images in the interference. It must be his imagination.

But the instant Leo called his attention to it, the projector popped, fizzled, and disconnected.
Huh. Must be the sleep deprivation...
Leo's attention came back to the emptiness of the room. Where had everyone gone? It was too dark and too quiet to be morning yet. Maybe... they'd all gone to get more snacks? It was a silly idea, but the only probable one he could think of. Leo rose to his feet, stretched, and clambered over the sea of pillows and cushions surrounding the area. He wondered what time it was. He tried to find his phone... but, uh... hm. That was unlike him, to leave his phone unattended. Oh well, he didn't actually need it. Besides, there were other clocks in the lair. Leo roamed into the halls, which seemed a lot longer and more dominated by shadow than usual. These shadows were strange, rounding about the walls and ceiling and floor as if they were cloth rolling down a hole. In fact, the more Leo focused on the world around him, the more it seemed distorted and out of place. The photos on the walls were tilted and slanted, the images were too blurry to be discernible. There were doors that he did not recognize, practically littering the hallway. And the hallway itself went on for miles and miles and miles. Leo eventually saw a door that felt familiar. Felt familiar. It did not look familiar. But being near the door felt like being at the end of a task you forgot you were doing. Recognition of completion. He opened the door.
It was the kitchen. And it was empty. No one was here... huh. Weird. Where had they all gone? Leo glanced at the wall clock. The hand were at... uh... He couldn't read the numbers. There weren't any numbers. And for whatever reason, he couldn't recall in what order numbers ran, or where they started on a clock. At the top? The middle? The bottom? Where was the 1 supposed to be? And which hand represented the hour?
Uh... h-he didn't really want to see the time, anyway. It would just remind him of how many hours he had left to try and sleep.
"You've been sleeping enough, I think..."
Who said that?
Leo glanced around room anxiously. The once warm light was starting to dim, darken, desaturate. It was getting pretty cold in here. Leo ran out of the room, and looked down the halls. The way back to the living room was pitch black, and getting darker and scarier by the minute.
"This way, Leo! Follow us!"
Leo turned to look the other way.
There was a light at the end of the tunnel! A deep, warm, golden amber light. He'd go that way. Leo started running. It was so hard to run, he felt like he was running through water, or molasses. Slowed down to a crawl, he forced his arms and legs to move as fast as they could to escape the oncoming, ever consuming darkness.
"Come on, Leo, you can do it!"
"You've got this, dude! Keep going!"
"Don't give up!"
Leo struggled hard, gritting his teeth and growling with strained effort.
"Rrrrrgh! Who ARE you weird disembodied voices, anyway?! What have you done with my family?!"
The voices didn't answer. Or maybe they did, he just wasn't hearing them anymore. Everything felt like slow motion.
Leo finally made it to the edge of the light. As soon as his fingers touched the sparkling beams, he felt the effects of the darkness bleed off of him, ebbing away like the tide as he crawled out of its reach. The cold chill that had been clawing at his heart and lungs was now replaced by a glorious sensation of healthy warmth. The air sparkled, chasing the dark back into the abyss. The light brightened, beckoning him. Something about this light felt like... like... Like Mikey, somehow. It mirrored his bright personality. Leo could almost swear that touching the light was like holding his hand. He could feel the weight in his palm.
"...Mikey?" he asked aloud, eyes wide with shock at how familiar and real it all felt. The realest thing here...
"He felt me!"
"Huh?" Leo asked, still unsure where the voice had come from...
But before he could discern anything, his feet started moving again, almost as if he was no longer in charge. He strode through the tunnels, following the light.
"Don't worry, Nardo, we'll help you get back."
"We'll be right here beside you, no matter what."
"Anatawa hitorijinai."
"I don't speak... whatever that is," Leo mumbled sleepily. He wondered why he felt so drowsy all over again.
But Leo felt like the voices weren't malevolent. They weren't evil, or cruel. Maybe they had done something to his family, maybe not. It felt more like they wanted to help return him to them. Leo wasn't an overly trusting guy, but he was willing to stake his life for his family's sake.
He was willing to follow the light.

"How the hell did cupid get bullets?"
I really appreciate the love I got on the prologue, and decided to add in some extra stuff to it rather than a timeskip. As I said, this is going to be a really slow burn.
Prologue 1 here.
Prologue part 2? - 1.3k, SFW - plans for reader x graves (though I may write side drabbles if desired), I'm hoping to try and ramp up the quality. MDNI, zero tolerance for minors being around - nothing particularly triggering, swearing I guess? I've indented dialogue to make it easier to read, since I figured colours would be a bit too distracting. Don't feed my work to AI, yadda yadda. Also I figured I'd start chucking a different gofundme per chapter in this section, just as a little fun positive thing. I've picked this one today.
You walk along the aisle, taking a seat that’s facing towards the closed cockpit. Buckling yourself in, you feel the vibrations of the cabin door slamming shut, the small ding of the seatbelt sign, and the rumble of the engine coming to life. Looking out below, you see the area you once called home become smaller and smaller. Trees turned to twigs as the plane slowly began to ascend into the sky.
A short while later, you’re able to take off your seatbelt. Walking towards you was the only other passenger besides the pilot. The driver walks up to you, boasting a folder with a simple iconography, featuring a rook inside a spade. Really? Putting the pieces together, someone thought they were being clever and symbolic – but it came off kinda smug and pretentious. Despite that, it still felt slightly clever enough to briefly humour you.
“This is just some preparation that’s been organised for you. I’d suggest looking through it, it’s pretty much your itinerary for the next few days. Has a bit of extra paperwork too, if you chose to continue beyond the interview. Also, a rough layout of what areas are strictly relevant to you. Venturing into other places without the proper clearance is generally cause for alarm, and you’ll likely get your ass handed to you. If you’re lucky, it’ll be verbal – so I’d also suggest keeping that on you.”
What the fuck does he mean by THAT? Maybe it’s governmental work?
“Doesn’t it seem a bit silly to give me a map if it’s such a top secret layout?”
“You’re not a threat at this point in time.”
Ouch.
It was a feeling that could only be described as ‘ominous embarrassment’. This is the most you’ve spoken to the driver from earlier, and finally take in his appearance. Average height, with a lean build. There’s some medium length locks framing his face, parted down the middle. He looks down at you, with an expression so lacking you’d think he’d never experienced an emotion. Brown eyes, but he’s wearing clear contacts. You wonder how he’d look with glasses. As he speaks, you notice a slight stubble – and a pair of very neatly manicured brows furrowing in your direction.
“Well?”
Fuck. Wasn’t listening.
“Oh I agree completely.”
There we go, saved it.
“So, you agree you might have questions?”
Goddammit.
He lets out a small chuckle, eyes slightly crinkling at the corners with a faint hint of a smile. Thank god, he’s amused. Making a terrible first impression on the people around this company is not the way to go. Considering the perks so far, you find yourself increasingly nervous for the interview – the desire to actually be able to do your placement here grows, adding to the pressure. He’s in a basic black suit, with a slightly stuffy black tactical vest over the top. A small, embroidered strip of grey fabric sits across the left of his chest, reading ‘Smithstone 1-4’ just above his breast pocket. He takes a seat in the chair across from you. Finally coming back to earth again, you ponder on anything you might potentially want to know.
“So… what kind of deal is this? You guys working for the government?” – the most obvious question. He shifts slightly in his seat, answering with a simple “Something like that.”
Alright, not great in terms of detail – but it’s at least something. You press further.
“Why the big plane?”
“Boss uses it for a few things already, mostly meetings and other stuff. He figured it was simpler putting you in it, rather than dealing with anything commercial.” He answers, very matter-of-factly. “We’re not typically a first choice, so we don’t get many applicants. Most students have us as a backup, not as the main option. So forgive us, this is a little new for everyone involved.”
Huh. job’s turned from creepy, back to intriguing.
“D’you like working here?” You wonder, figuring if he’s been put in charge of you, he’s probably a safe bet on getting a feel for this place.
“It’s good. Can’t complain. We’ve got great benefits, a decent salary, and a pretty good work-life balance. The only catch is the life part. You do get space to do stuff on your own time, but we’re all kind of restricted in how much movement we can make. You’ve typically gotta stay in the nearby area, and there’s not much around in most places we go. The work certainly tests you though.” It seems promising, the words sounding genuine. “Any more questions?”
This is another question I absolutely should’ve asked earlier. I hope it doesn’t sound rude.
“What’s your name?”
“Oh. Probably should’ve introduced myself. I’m Jessie, but we usually just go by last names. It’s not mandatory though, just how the vibe is.”
Jessie Smithstone, huh?
“Well, it’s been nice to meet you, Jessie.”
“Nice to meet you too.” He responds, running a hand through his hair. He figures it’s time to leave you to read through the folder on your own, accepting the hint to move to a different chair without you even noticing. Seems like the employees have pretty good instincts.
The documentation is some standard non-disclosure agreements, just not to talk about where you’re going, where you’re interviewing, what you’re interviewing for, not to discuss anything heard (or overhead) while you are present, and the potential ramifications for doing so. There is a footnote with these at least, ‘If you require assistance in understanding these, we do have legal advice available to help you go over this contract.’ – that’s nice at least. Care certainly has been put into fully understanding what you’re getting yourself into, but you’ve yet to be enlightened on what the fuck is this kind of company?
The rest of the documents is as Jessie said – a map labelled with any landmarks you may need to find your way across the large… building? It couldn’t really be called that. It’s almost like a compound. There are quite a few sections shaded off, with a key in the corner explaining that these sections are restricted. Each relevant point of interest is labelled with a star, and several paths are outlined between these sections – providing you a set of routes for wherever you needed to go and where you absolutely shouldn’t. An itinerary explains where you’ll be staying, in a small set of quarters, at the west wing of one of the buildings. You’ll be touching down, unpacking, and being given a tour before dinner. After that, you’ve got a few hours to do what you wish around the place – or choose to go to bed. The next day will be your interview, starting at midday – and deliberation will occur in the afternoon. You’ll be given the outcome on whether there’s a contract to potentially accept, or having to go home. You’ve still got the option of declining the contract, but that’s been put off the table. This could be the opportunity of a lifetime, and ‘No.’ isn’t an option for you. Not out of lack of choice, but out of want. The seatbelt fastening sign dings to life, as the pilot explains you’ll be landing shortly.

A/N: Hi everyone! This is the first fanfic I've written in about 10 years! This is my first time posting my writing on Tumblr and I'm very, very nervous. The Grunkle Stan curse has consumed me whole… I'm not sure at the moment exactly how long this fic will be but it'll be a fun ride for us all! :3 I really hope you enjoy! Please feel free to leave feedback about how you feel about the story! I looooooove reading what everyone has to say and how you feel about stuff! It makes me so happy :D
~~~~~~~
“So…”
“Uh huh…”
“What you’re saying is…”
“Uhhhh huuuhhhh.” There was smiling, almost downright giggling, in her voice.
“You…”
“Uh huh!”
“Wanna…”
“EEEEEE!!!” She screeched quietly behind her prayer positioned hands while jumping in place.
“Start your own weird earring business?”
Mabel let out a loud ear piercing scream, causing Dipper to cover his ears quickly. Even at 15, almost 16, Mabel was still so excitable and bubbly. She never lost that part of her personality and she never would if she had anything to say about it.
“Mabel, is there even a market for that kind of thing?” Dipper asked his sister after she finally calmed down enough to have a conversation.
“Dipper…” Mabel started, her tone serious. “You have no frickin idea!” She squealed, jumping some more in place.
“Okay, say for instance I believe you and this is something you’re actually gonna commit to this time, how are you gonna get the materials?” He asked, folding his arms across his chest.
“Oh you know…” She said with a wide grin, nudging her brother in his ribs with her elbow. Dipper let out a groan, unfolding his arms to rub where she practically stabbed him.
“He’s not gonna go for it, Mabel. Him or Ford. Grunkle Ford would probably have war flashbacks if you even said the word ‘weird’ around him. Even if you whispered it,” Dipper said matter of factly.
“That’s what you think. You just don’t have the Mabel Pines charm. Or the puppy dog eyes. You’ve lost your edge. You’re too emo now,” Mabel sighed as she started reminiscing how cute and cuddly Dipper used to be. Now he’s just like Robbie. But somehow cooler? Somehow.
“Emo?! It’s called goth!” Dipper said, his voice cracking very slightly. His cheeks flushed, hoping Mabel wouldn’t notice. Her lack of reaction led him to believe she didn’t. But he figured she was just doing him a favor by not embarrassing him about it anymore. It got boring, he figured.
“Anyway,” Dipper started after clearing his throat a little. “I’d like to see you try to convince Stan to foot the bill for this. There’s no amount of 15 year old puppy dog face that’ll get him to do it.”
“Oh ye of little faith, my brother,” Mabel sighed, shaking her head as she started unpacking her luggage.
The twins begged and pleaded to stay with their grunkles for the summer. It was a big summer! Their 16th birthday. Ford and Stan agreed to return from their Stan o War II expeditions on the condition that they could plan a huge party for them before sending them back home. They thought it would be nice to do for the kids. Especially since they haven't really seen them since they turned 13. Dipper, however, has been keeping correspondence with Ford every week.
Mabel pulled a blazer out of her largest suitcase and held it up to Dipper with a wide, metal filled, grin. "I brought this just for the pitch! Hopefully it'll make Grunkle Stan take me seriously since all he does is wear a blazer in the shack. And dress pants. Come to think of it, he wears a full suit to work in a tourist trap," she said mostly to herself at the end.
"Did you get the blazer because you think it'll make you more grown up?" Dipper asked, rolling his eyes slightly.
"Uh, duh, Dipper. Why else would I just have a blazer laying around as a teenager?" Mabel asked, rolling her eyes back.
Dipper had his back turned to Mabel but he smiled at her comment. He loved that his sister was so sarcastic and funny. It was one of his favorite things about her.
After about 15 minutes passed, they were both unpacked and settled into their old room. Ford had even convinced Stan to get the kids their own full sized beds, instead of the smaller twin sized beds. He thought it would make them feel more comfortable. He wasn't wrong though.
Dipper trudged down the stairs first, wanting to be witness to this disaster of a business pitch his sister was about to initiate. He looked around for a moment. It was eerily quiet. The only thing that could be heard was the clicking of a keyboard from the kitchen and hushed arguing. They obviously didn't want to be heard but they sucked at it, frankly.
He sighed and flattened his fingers against his hips to stick them into his pockets. He took a step towards the kitchen before jumping at a loud yell that startled him from head to toe. Of course it was Grunkle Stan's voice. Dipper rushed into the kitchen to see what was going on.
"Grunkle Stan?!" Dipper yelled, his hands gripping the doorway in terror. "Are you okay?!"
Ford and Stan looked to their nephew, confused about why he was so startled. They were huddled around a laptop on the kitchen table. Stan was sitting in front of the computer and Ford standing but leaned down to read what was on the screen.
"Are you okay, kid?" Stan asked, raising an eyebrow at him.
Dipper slowed his breathing to a normal pace before laughing it off. "Y-Yeah. I'm A-OK! I just..." He trailed off.
"Dipper, it's alright," Ford said as he walked up to his nephew and placed a solid hand on his shoulder. "We're just..." He looked back at his brother, who shook his head slowly, his mouth a hard line and his eyebrows flat. Ford turned his attention back to Dipper.
"Stan's trying online dating. He says he wants to have a date to your birthday party. I don't care about that sort of thing personally but..."
"SIXER!" Stan blurted as he started blushing furiously, hunching over the computer. "Always openin your mouth..." he grumbled to himself, knowing full well they both could hear him. "I just wanted to make a FRIEND that's not my brother, you kids, or Soos. Can't an old coot want that for himself?"
Ford and Dipper looked at each other with the same intrigued expression. Dipper straightened himself up and nodded.
"Yeah. You can definitely want that for yourself," he answered. "Have you...had any luck?" Dipper asked cautiously.
"Not really," Stan said curtly. He knew online dating at his age would be tedious but not _this_ bad.
"Actually, Dipper," Ford interjected. "Someone just messaged him back. Eagerly," he said, shooting a grin at Stan.
"Shut your trap! We don't even know if she's a real person," Stan grumbled as he typed on the laptop on front of them. "Or if she's a...what is it? Dogwhale?"
"Catfish," Ford and Dipper corrected in unison.
Stan looked at his brother and nephew, squinting his eyes at them. "Sometimes I wonder who's Sixer's twin here. Me or you, kid. Aside from the fact you look like The Cure meets Marilyn Manson these days." He turned back to the computer and continued typing.
"How do you know who Marilyn Manson is?" Dipper asked with much confusion in his voice.
"Don't worry about it, kid," Stan dismissed. "It's a good look on you."
Dipper blushed and rubbed the back of his neck shyly. "Oh! Thanks," he said quietly, looking around the room nervously. "It's a new thing."
"Some of the smartest people I knew in college were goths," Ford added. "Keep up the good work...er...look...Yeah." Ford looked between the other two and left the room quickly out of embarrassment.
"GRRUUNNKKKLLLEEE STAANNNNNN!!!" Mabel squealed as she rushed past Dipper into the kitchen with her blazer on haphazardly. She very obviously didn't know how to put it on to fit her correctly but that didn't stop her from trying.
Stan turned to look at Mabel who was standing there eagerly with a book under her right arm. He couldn't help but smile at his niece still being the same silly person she always has been. It always warmed every corner of his heart. Even though he'd never admit it.
"What's up, kid?" He asked as he leaned back in the chair and crossed his left ankle over his right knee.
ding!
"So! I have a proposition for you!" Mabel said as she pulled her book out and opened it.
ding!
ding!
ding!
"What is that?" Mabel asked curiously as she stepped forward towards Stan and the laptop.
"Nothing!!" Stan said as he slammed the laptop closed.
"Stan's doing online dating," Dipper said without thinking. He made a small noise then covered his mouth quickly.
There was an unsettling silence at first followed by a loud shriek of excitement followed by Mabel jumping up and down with the book still in her hands. "GRUNKLE STAN NO WAY! NOOOOO WAAAAYYY!! AH, I'M SO EXCITED FOR YOU!"
Stan and Dipper both covered their ears.
"Alright, alright, kid. That's enough. It's no big deal."
"IT IS SO A BIG DEAL!!! Have you met anyone yet? Did you ask anyone on a date?" Mabel asked rapidly.
"No and no," Stan said simply.
Mabel's entire disposition changed when he answered. "Oh... Well those dings from the computer sound promising! There was a lot of them too. Maybe it's multiple women trying to get your attention?"
"No. It's...It's one woman. I just met her," Stan said as he opened the laptop back up and went to the woman's profile. "Says here she's an artist, she loves period pieces, and loves all things Halloween. Don't really get the last part but the first two things? It makes her the dame of my dreams," he sighed with a smile. He quickly reigned himself back in and cleared his throat.
"Anyways, we're just...chattin right now. That's all. It probably won't even last a day. She's too good to be true. She's probably a...wazzit called, Dip?"
"Catfish," Dipper answered quickly.
"Yeah that. She's probably a catfish," Stan said sadly.
"Grunkle Stan," Mabel said softly as she walked over to him and sat her book down on the table. "I know you've led a hard life but you deserve happiness. So don't shoot it down before it's even had the chance to take flight," she advised wisely, placing her hand on his shoulder.
"Wise words, kid," Stan said, accepting her advice. "I'll...give it a chance."
"YAY!!" Mabel squealed as she clapped her hands happily.
Stan's gaze snapped to the book in front of them. "Wazzat?" he asked, pointing with his chin. "And why the hell are you wearing a blazer? And wearin it like...that?"
A huge grin slowly spread across Mabel's face, showing every single color in her braces, at Stan's sudden interest. "Grunkle Stan...do I have a proposition for you!"
But I Thought You Had a Girlfriend? ~ Post Story (Agatha x Rio Students AU)
Chapter 1 Chapter 2 Chapter 3 Chapter 4 Chapter 5
Summary:
Some good ol' future/post story time skip
Notes:
AHHHH LAST CHAPTER!!!!!! Can't wait for the finale of Agatha tonight and praying our lesbians and live happily ever after. Anyways, please tell me if there's any misspelling or grammatically incorrect stuff, I have dyslexia so sometimes I miss some stuff.
“Come on, vamanos Rio. We're gonna be late” Agatha said dragging Rio. “Babe we're not gonna be late, calm down” Rio said, putting on her heels. “Mama, mommy!” Nicholas yelled, coming up behind. “Nicholas! Sorry Rio he got out of the room” Rio’s cousin said apologizing to her. “It's ok cuz” Rio said, picking up her baby boy. “Nicki, you have to be good, we'll be back, ok sunshine?” Rio said, giving her son a kiss on the cheek. “Nicholas we'll be back soon so the better you behave, the quicker we'll be back” Agatha said, also giving him a kiss on the cheek. “Okay” said the boy, looking up at his mothers. Rio handed him back to her cousin as they were ready to leave. “We'll be back, love you both” Rio said, leaving through the door. She went over to the car and opened the passenger door for Agatha. “Thank you sweetheart” Agatha said, giving Rio a kiss on the cheek before she entered. “Anything for you Mrs. Vidal” Rio said, giving Agatha a small slap to her butt before going to the driver's side. Rio started driving with Agatha's hands on top of her on the center console. “Are you excited? We haven't seen some of them in a while” Agatha asked, admiring their rings. “Agatha, what do you mean? We saw Wanda and Vision two weeks ago, you saw Alice yesterday and I saw Jen last week” Rio said laughing. “Hey! That can be a lot of time for some people” Agatha said with a pout. “Well we're here so put away that pout” Rio said, giving Agatha a kiss on the cheek.
As they got out of the car they saw the big sign of “Welcome Westview Class Reunion” to which Rio couldn't help but cringe at. “I can't believe you made us come to this” Rio said, gagging at the sign. “It'll be fun baby, come on” Agatha said, interlacing her hand with Rio’s. “Ugh, fine” Rio said, kissing Agatha's hands. As the two entered the gymnasium they found their group of friends. “Long time no see” Wanda said, giggling at the couple. “I swear to god, you and Agatha are the same” Rio groaned, already tired of the joke. “ Well at least you didn't hiss at me like you used to” Wanda said with a shrug to which Rio hissed at her. “Why did you remind her” Agatha groaned, pinching her bridge. “Some things just don't change I guess” Alice said with a laugh. “Kind of crazy we've all lasted this long with each of you if you think about it” said Jen, giggling at everyone's interactions. “Tell me about it, it feels like yesterday I can remember us at Alice's place after prom” said Vision, bringing Wanda closer to his side. “I'm still shocked you two decided to stay here” said Jen to Rio and Agatha. “Agatha hates traveling” Rio said in a deadpan tone. “What! Not true” Agatha said, playfully hitting Rio. “ Oh really cause during our honeymoon I remember someone saying-” “ Don't you dare” Agatha interrupted Rio. Rio was silent for a moment until she finally said “Riooooo, I'm scared. What if we get robbed or killed” in a whiny tone to make fun of Agatha. Everyone laughed as no one expected Agatha to ever say anything close to that since she always acted so independent “God I hate you” Agatha said with a groan. “Mm I think you love me” Rio said, pecking a kiss on Agatha's cheek. “Ya I think you were right Alice, some things don't change” Jen said, looking at the two. They chatted for a bit and mingled until eventually it got late for the two. They bid their goodbyes to everyone and drove home, hoping their son wasn't too sad about leaving him for the night.
As Rio opened the door, Nicholas was already running up to them. Agatha picked him up and immediately hugged him. “Aw I'm sorry baby, you missed us huh” Agatha said, cradling their son's head. “Mommy! mama!” he yelled into Agatha's ear. “Ow, inside voice Nicholas please, I'm right here” Agatha said with a giggle, detaching him from her shoulder. “Nicky did you behave?” Rio asked before taking Nicholas from Agatha. “Yes mama” he said, looking up at Rio. “He was pretty good until you two got here” Rio's cousin said, walking into the room. “Thanks for watching him cuz, it means a lot” Rio said, smiling at her cousin. “Anything for you Rio, imma head out now, got some work I have to do tomorrow, I'll see you next week though “ her cousin said, getting ready to leave. “Yeah for sure! Can't wait to see you then” Agatha said , leaving a path for Rio’s cousin to leave. As the night went on the two got Nicholas ready for bed and decompressed for the night. As the two were finally ready for bed and comfort under the sheets Rio couldn't help herself as she's been doing for years. But before she could even say anything, Agatha beat her to it and said “I love you Rio”. She couldn't help but giggle at this since Agatha read her so well and said “I love you Agatha”.
Yokoya Days Ch 4: Kyoshi gets The Talk
Characters: Rangi and Kyoshi (RoK characters tbh)
Pairing: Rangshi (Mostly Rangi crushing and Kyo showing signs of attraction) and also showing Kyoshi's crush on Yun (as little as I can cause I'm biased~!)
Rating: T
Summary:
Ever wonder what Kyoshi, Rangi, and Yun were like before the whole Iceberg incident? How they first met? And so on? Aka, little episodic adventures of 14/15/16 year old Yokoyan Trio.
Canon compliant, end game pairings in the actual novel u_u
Other Sites: AO3
A/N: Please look at trigger warnings in the notes below for this chapter. εミ(ο_ _)ο
A/N: Me: Kyoshi getting “The Talk” from Mui or Kelsang. XDMe: *remembering that Kyoshi by 16 was used to certain men thinking they had “ particular dimensions made her a public good”*Me: *remembers she started the Kyoshi warrior because of “jerks” that kept bothering women in her port town*Me: *stares deep into the damn void*
So this is going to be a bit more…..serious. And I guess it’s a good time to mention that I do wanna explore serious sides of Kyoshi’s past, not just the goofy fun shipping adventures. I just didn’t think I’d get to THIS topic so soon. ;w;
I don’t think I need to increase the rating since it doesn’t go into detail about *gestures vaguely*, plus in my experience the sex talk/sex education predated my high school teen experiences so like…I think I’m good.
TRIGGER WARNING: Ummm sex education? Period talk? Mixed with the horrors of Kyoshi growing up around sailors, as well as a port that was known to sexually harass women (Kyoshi pretty much never left the damn place where else did she deal with men who wanted her “dimensions???”). (which I dunno know what to label that as, sexual harassment? Or at least possible allusion to?)
(sorry if the subject matter is uncomfy, but it’s something I’ve been wanting to know about whenever little tidbits have come up in canon. And I really wanted to explore it. I’m going to try to deliver it from a perspective of Kyoshi’s callous, but still young mind who’s used to this sort of thing by now, so that’ll be an interesting exercise. I dunno, in canon I think Kyoshi IS aware of a lot of wrong that was done to her, but I also think she can be flippant and unaware of some of the scarier aspects her upbringing had.)
_____
Kyoshi sat down on an isolated bench in the back part of the mansion with Auntie Mui, scattering feed onto the ground for the picken to feed on. Auntie Mui had wanted to talk to her about something, but she seemed a little hesitant.
Kyoshi, of course, couldn't help but think it was the worst case scenario. “Auntie Mui…am I being let go?”
Auntie Mui, who was deep in thought, startled out of her stupor and looked at Kyoshi with wide eyes. “What? No! What in the spirits would make you think that?”
“Oh,” Kyoshi looked back down to a picken who seemed taken with her feet. It even started roosting on her toes. “Well you’re all serious, and you wanted to talk with me alone… So I thought… You wanted to save me from some embarrassment and fire me in a more secluded place.”
Auntie Mui started sweating, waving her hands frantically. “Spirits no, child! Nothing like that! I was just, um, thinking about what flavor of mochi to make for dessert! Yes! That’s it! What flavor would you like dear?”
Kyoshi frowned. “We can have mochi?”
Seemed like a delicacy that the staff wouldn’t be allowed to touch, she didn’t know they could have that kind of stuff. They usually had to make do with the jook in the kitchen and the leftovers they made for the higher ups for their side dishes.
“I’ll sneak you one, they won’t know,” she winked.
“You don’t need to do that, I wouldn’t want you to get into trouble…”
“It’s not trouble at all! All young girls should be allowed something sweet!” Auntie Mui protested.
“O–ok!” Kyoshi finally relented. If Auntie Mui was fine with it…
“So what flavor?” she pushed.
Kyoshi bit her lip. She didn’t really have a favorite flavor. Anything that wasn’t trash? Most Air Nomad treats Kelsang could get her were…airy. Lightly sugared crackers, not very sweet. It was the best he could do with his trip time and lack of a kitchen. He’d expressed wanting to make her a fruit pie, but between his fears of it going bad while on his trip to see her, and his own worries about it tasting good (he usually worried more about using it for ‘target practice’ than food, whatever that meant). He had gotten her a cookie one time, but she was so sick she could barely taste anything at the time. She didn’t have the heart to tell him that, though.
“I don’t have a preference, whatever you make I'll be happy.” It was the truth, Kyoshi wasn’t very picky. She’d eaten worse to survive before.
Kyoshi heard Auntie Mui mumble something like “I wonder if she has any thoughts on this. Maybe she brought some cinnamon from her country I can use?”
Kyoshi didn’t bother to ask her to clarify who ‘she’ was.
Kyoshi stood up. “Is that all? Should we head back?” She’d empty out all the feed in her bag, and if this little rendezvous was because Auntie Mui wanted to make sure Kyoshi got a spare treat, then they’d accomplish it. But Auntie Mui wasn’t done, she pulled Kyoshi back down to the bench.
“Now, now. There’s no rush. I have more to talk with you about!”
Kyoshi gave her a quizzical look. The older woman was back to looking anxious. “Ok?”
Auntie Mui cleared her throat. “Kyoshi, as you may know, I don’t have any children…”
Kyoshi did know that. But she also didn’t know how they got onto such a topic out of the blue. In moments like these, it was best if she just nodded her head and pretended like she knew what was going on.
“So this is… Oh, I know why I was asked but… Just… Please know I’m as uncomfortable about this as you are…”
Well, Kyoshi wasn’t uncomfortable…until now. What was going on?
Auntie Mui cleared her throat. “Kyoshi, do you know about the frog birds and the lady bees?”
Kyoshi blinked. Why were they talking about animals now? They were just talking about Auntie Mui’s lack of children…
Roll with it. Roll with it.
“I see the frog birds when they’re migrating. And lady bees are a good snack if there’s nothing else around.” She thought about the last time she had one. It was a few days before they found the Avatar, there was an abundance since it was almost the start of the summer so she had a little feast for herself. It’d been awhile since Kelsang had visited, and had run out of any alms he’d gathered for her since he last visited. And due to her current age, she found it riskier to take on errands around the village like she used to. So she opted to eat the bugs in the forest instead.
They tasted pretty decent, but she had to be sure to remove the stinger from them first. They at least tricked her brain into thinking she could go a little longer without meat.
Auntie Mui, finger raised in the air and ready to continue her monologue, stopped. Eyes wide and face paling, she turned and looked at Kyoshi. “Snack?”
Kyoshi nodded, staring right back. Then realization hit her. “Oh! Sorry, I guess most people don’t eat lady bees…”
Oh, right. I don’t think most people eat bugs. She had noticed some of the poorer families would resort to that when their harvest wasn’t as abundant that year. Just another thing that was different between the haves and have-nots. Even being destitute herself, however, Kyoshi somehow found herself the odd one out of the have-nots as well.
This always happened to her. Kyoshi would think something is normal and talk about it, only to find out how odd she was. She’d been doing so well, though. Gauging and figuring out what to say and keep to herself. Looks like she messed up this time. Auntie Mui was probably disgusted by her. That’s how it usually went anyway.
Auntie Mui waved her hands frantically. “No no! It’s not it’s– Um, I heard it’s a delicacy in the… Fire Nation! Yes! That’s it! The Fire Nation! You should ask Miss Rangi about it–”
“I’m good.” Kyoshi said without hesitation. “Auntie Mui, why are you asking about animals?”
Auntie Mui put her head in her hands. “I– Ok, maybe I should just– Kyoshi, you know when a man and a woman love each other? They um…have a child?”
And then they abandon them. Kyoshi thought coldly. But she nodded regardless.
“Well, making a baby is a process! And that, um, that process is–”
Something about the conversation felt familiar, and with a surge of sadness, she remembered a moment with her parents. Jesa and Hark. They spoke in round about ways about where babies came from too, but they didn’t stutter like Auntie Mui was doing. They were confident, even told a fantastical story (not that she remembered the details), something about a pigeon stork.
After they’d abandoned her in Yokoya, Kyoshi found out the real truth, and there was no pigeon stork that dropped babies off.
Suddenly it dawned on Kyoshi what Auntie Mui was trying to say. She didn’t know why Auntie Mui was doing this… But after a moment she realized, maybe she was trying to teach her something! Yes! That’s what Auntie Mui liked to do after all!
She watched as Auntie Mui was fumbling with her words, twisting a dish rag in her hands to self soothe. Kyoshi remembered how awkward she felt when she first learnt about it, the real truth that is. Maybe she could set Auntie Mui’s mind at ease by showing how much she knew? How knowledgeable she was? But was that a good idea?
“Auntie Mui, are you trying to tell me how a baby is made?” Kyoshi asked. If she kept it vague, maybe she wouldn’t have to go into detail.
Auntie Mui laughed nervously. “Yes! Yes, that is what I– Are you ok with me telling–”
“I already know,” she said confidently. “ And I know it’s not the pigeon stork either!”
Auntie Mui looked at her confused. “Oh? Did one of the other maids tell you?”
Kyoshi shook her head. “Nope, it was before I came to the mansion.”
Auntie Mui nodded slowly. “Then was it Master Kelsang? But wait– Then why–”
Kyoshi shook her head again. “No, I learnt it before I met Kelsang.”
“Did your paren–”
Kyoshi felt her entire being become like stone at the mere mention of her parents. Auntie Mui quickly changed the subject, most likely because of Kyoshi’s reaction. She never did have a good handle on controlling her expressions.
“Um, how about you tell me what you know. Where you learnt it isn’t the issue. I just want to make sure you have the correct information!”
“You sure?”
Kyoshi really didn’t like the topic, but Auntie Mui was a good person. So far she’d only had the best for Kyoshi in mind, always consistently warning Kyoshi about certain matters, and it was probably the case here too! She did have questions on some specifics, but didn’t have anyone offer to help until now. So maybe it wouldn’t be so bad telling her?
It’s Auntie Mui, of course it’d be fine. She was slowly talking herself into it.
“Yes yes! Go ahead, tell me everything, nothing is off limits. I won’t judge,” she said with a kind smile.
“Ok…” She didn’t know why Auntie Mui would judge her for what she knew, people judged Kyoshi for much less. Like existing. But it was still nice to hear nonetheless, it set her at ease.
Then Kyoshi went into detail about everything she knew. She felt confident in most of it, though she didn’t understand all the specifics, she was fairly sure with certain aspects of the act. All in all, it felt really good to share what she knew, to get it off her chest.
When she was done, she looked back at Auntie Mui expectantly. A part of herself kind of wanted to hear a compliment, maybe how smart and knowledgeable she was. But she quickly shoved down the silly notion. She shouldn’t expect such things for supposedly common knowledge.
However, when her eyes finally landed back on Auntie Mui, she found the older woman was extremely pale and appeared to have trouble breathing. Kyoshi felt her face fall slightly.
“Is…Is this not what you wanted to teach me?” A ball was forming in Kyoshi’s stomach. Yelling at her that she said too much, again! She should’ve been more careful, she knew what she’d seen and heard was bad. No one had to tell her, she could feel it deep in her gut. She should’ve been more aware of the social contract, yes she was given permission but that didn’t mean she should divulge. Hadn’t she learnt by now?
“Kyoshi… I… What I said before, about how it didn’t matter who taught you this. Ignore it. Who told you these things? Where did you learn…those words? How…How do you know–” she couldn’t finish the rest of her sentence.
Kyoshi’s confidence in her knowledge sank instantly, and she looked anywhere but Auntie Mui. She could tell by her tone, she really had said something very wrong.
Kyoshi couldn’t tell Auntie Mui that she originally learnt about sex from one of Aoma’s older cousins. Especially when the girls were standing over her, hitting her with a rock. All of it was in retaliation of Kyoshi revealing to Aoma that it was her parents leaving treats under her pillow, not the Harvest Spirit. She supposed it was retribution, an eye for an eye.
Kyoshi (accidentally) had ruined Aoma’s preconception of the Harvest Spirit, so they thought to ruin Kyoshi’s preconception on where babies came from. Aoma ended up in the crossfire of that one as well… Her cousins probably should’ve made sure she was out of earshot before they started talking.
That wasn’t so bad though. What they told her did shake her, but she remembered having more issues treating her open wounds and making sure they didn’t fuse with her clothes than anything else. No, it’s what she saw and heard and learned first hand on the docks that bothered her more.
It was a long time again, most of it anyway, but regardless… Kyoshi knew if she said anything, Auntie Mui would march down there and cause trouble. Which would cause trouble with the Avatar and Jianzhu’s relations with the villagers. Which would probably in turn…cause trouble with Kyoshi again and would probably get her fired.
It’d be best to make up a visiting sailor unrelated to the town, it wouldn’t be too far off from other similar encounters anyway.
“Around…” Kyoshi paled, looking as another picken had come over. Now she had two pickens roosting on each of her toes.
“Around where?”
“...by the port?”
Aunty Mui clucked her tongue. “Sailors and fishermen…degenerates…” She said it with such disdain. Disdain Kyoshi only ever heard from the Yokoyans whenever they said her name. It was enough for Kyoshi to want to defend them…as weird as it sounded.
“They aren’t really…they’d give me scraps sometimes…”
Some of the kinder fishermen, usually from out of town, would see her struggling and just out right give it to her. Some made her work for it, a dance here, an errand there. Other times she stole from them, usually the ones that didn’t keep their end of the bargain.
She would usually feel bad for doing such an act, but then she’d remember how they’d humiliate her or failed to pay her after her errand… Or she’d remember the cries of poor farmer women that they’d paid to come into their quarters, preying on their need to feed themselves or their families… Well, Kyoshi’s guilt would dry up fairly quickly. Especially the latter, she always hated sneaking around when the latter was happening.
Auntie Mui smacked her legs. “Kyoshi! That does not excuse–” She stopped, she must’ve seen how uncomfortable Kyoshi got, and softened her voice. “They shouldn’t have– No, they had no business talking to a young lady like that! Ohhh– Did you happen to catch their boat’s name? Are they local? I ought to have a word with them!”
The older woman started huffing and puffing in her seat, expanding like a balloon as Kyoshi shook her head. She didn’t keep track of whose boat was whose. Not that she would’ve told Auntie Mui anyway. She didn’t want any trouble… Even if they were from out of town, they would stop coming here, and that would hurt the already poor town’s economy. Which would hurt relations with the Avatar and Jianzhu…which would get her fired.
No, she’d stay quiet. She understood what people did to survive, she wouldn’t get rid of that avenue for them. Especially now she was in a much better position, who was she to take options from people who had less? Even though she loathed those certain sailors who now found it just fine to poke and prod and comment on her newly formed dimensions.
Kyoshi balled her fists involuntarily from her recent memories. It was almost enough for her to let Auntie Mui go on her inquisition. But she remembered she couldn’t be selfish. Others relied on those bastards, they were sometimes the only thin line between starving or a meal on the table for the night. She’d stay silent.
Auntie Mui took a few more deep breaths and turned to Kyoshi. “I’m sorry I just… None of this is aimed at you dear, you’ve done nothing wrong! But can you tell me how old you were when you learnt this?”
Kyoshi thought about it. She remembered Aoma’s cousins were about twice Aoma’s age, and Aoma was around the same age as her… She knew she was around five or six when she was dropped off, and it was not long after she got kicked out onto the street when this occurred.
“Five?”
“FIVE?!” she squawked, standing up. “That’s way too young!”
Kyoshi had a feeling that was the case… She didn’t know why, but she felt the lump in her stomach moving up to the back of her throat. Moisture pricked at the corners of her eyes, and she felt waves of heated shame rolling through her.
Auntie Mui was now puffing in place, inconsolable. The rest of the world was mute to her rage. Kyoshi kept staring at the ground, more pickens had come over, nestling all around her feet. She wondered if they were trying to console her?
“That’s it! I’m going to have a word with– Kyoshi, you have to tell me who told you–” She stopped and went quiet. Kyoshi didn’t know why, she just kept looking at the pickens, trying to keep the pain in her throat from becoming worse.
She felt Auntie Mui softly sit back down, and a gentle arm went around her shoulders. Kyoshi felt herself stiffen at the foreign touch, before slowly melting into it.
“I’m sorry for my outburst,” she said quietly. “You don’t have to tell me if you don’t want to.”
Kyoshi just nodded, afraid of her own voice. She hated it, unsure why she felt like this.
Auntie Mui rubbed a hand up and down Kyoshi’s arm, trying to soothe her. “If it’s ok, can I clarify some things with you? I couldn't help but notice…the way you phrased certain things… I think they need more explanation.”
Kyosh nodded again.
“If you have any other questions, you can always come to me and ask. And when you do, I’ll make your favorite kimbap. Ok?”
Kyoshi finally looked at Auntie Mui, she looked a little distorted in her suspended tears. But nodded, grateful.
______
Kyoshi sat under one of the giant trees, relaxing. She’d just finished eating her supper (jook with moo-sow strips, an extra portion courtesy of Lee’s share), and was now about to take a bite into what Auntie Mui called ‘cinnamon sugar mochi.’ One bite in and she felt an explosion of flavor enter her mouth. It was almost as overpowering as it was addicting. She couldn’t help but kick her feet from the sugary goodness!
It took all her self control to not eat the treat in two whole bites! But alas, it was still gone way too soon.
I should’ve savored it more. Kyoshi pouted.
A sound of a breaking tree branch alerted her attention, and she turned around. Rangi stood there, a small wrapped bun looking thing in her hand, and Kyoshi’s heart plummeted. Her day had been so hectic and fraught, she’d forgotten all about her immediate dilemma!
This was it, Rangi was going to get her revenge! Kyoshi wanted to run, but now that her stomach was full she didn’t think her chances of getting away were very high… It was best to just sit here and accept her fate.
At least I was able to have such a delicious treat before I went! Kyoshi cried in her head.
Kyoshi’s eyes briefly darted to the object in Rangi’s hand. It was probably an oil bomb of some sort, she was going to make sure there was nothing left of Kyoshi to bury after she burned her!
Rangi’s mouth pulled to one side, into a frown. “Did you enjoy your dessert?”
Kyoshi winced. Was she going to make Kyoshi puke it back up? Maybe force her to eat it again? It wouldn’t be the first time someone did that to her…
Kyoshi nodded hesitantly.
Rangi’s face went back to her usual fierce neutrality. “Good. You can have mine then, I don’t want it.”
With that, she dropped the package, which was another cinnamon sugar mochi but wrapped to go, into Kyoshi’s lap. Then promptly walked off. Kyoshi could only stare after Rangi, mouth agape. Her mind flitted to multiple things at once. Did she not like such a delicious treat? Was she just so used to these kinds of things she didn’t care where she tossed it? Why give it to her?
Amidst her confusion, she did realize one thing. Kyoshi decided to take it as a sign that Rangi wasn’t going to kill her.
____
A/N: Kyoshi sweetie, you should really say something. (maybe I went too overboard with such a “damned” scenario? But it feels like that would be the most likely thing to happen in a poor, desperate port town). She’ll fix it when she becomes the Avatar, her dealing with “jerks at the port” is how she made the Kyoshi Warriors! ;w; So we at least know there is a good eventual ending.
I was trying to walk the line of Kyoshi’s innocence and also how desensitized to the situations she’s in. (for real canon her blase attitude to eating garbage TT0TT My heart I…)
I apologize for the heavier subject matter (I tried to put some humor in this tho ;w; where it was appropriate of course), but I don’t think I can avoid it. Obvie I don’t want to make it graphic and left the things she’s said and alluded to up to the imagination, but I do wanna touch on it as best I can.
I’ll be remiss to say I’ve never had “cinnamon (sugar) mochi” tbh. But I’m kinda interested now in case it does exist. Ajskfdjakf I prefer Mochi ice cream tbh, and I looove strawberry flavor. Tho I do like red bean paste so maybe I’d like that flavor of mochi ice cream too. *thinking*
Anyway, I can’t help but think cinnamon/cinnamon sugar would be a common sweet/treat/spice(?) in the Fire Nation. Just screams “spicy type sweet” (not that cinnamon is really spicy, but it has a kick so jklsajf). Also, give Rangi a round of applause~! For once she didn’t fumble something (within her control or not). \uwu/ I mean, Kyoshi is still confused but it’s a start~! (she’s gonna mess it up next chapter I bet TT0TT)
Note: have to remember the pig hypbrids have additional names according to the Avatar wiki….so…umm…if an animal name is weird, just look at it there TT0TT
Book one: chapter seven; stringing the unstringable bow
◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇
1 2.1 2.2 3 4 5 6 [info]
○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○○》Ah, there he is, the runt.《
Ares spoke up gruffly, looking at me with an amused scowl.
Phobos and deimos snickered beside him, both of them holding spears.
》your training begins soon, little hero!~ we expect you to pick our a wepon shortly, alright? We'll personally guide you!《
And with that, phobos and deimos grabbed me by the shoulders, threw my nearly forgotten baggage carelessly in the room and handing ari hebes cage and dragged me to the weapons shed.
°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°
You'd think that the gods of fear and terror wouldn't be so...er... gossipy, would you? Well, they were.
They were giggling and smirking about drama in camp like: "oh, have you heard that mellie broke up with jason?~" and stuff like that.
I didn't even know who mellie was, but I felt bad for her because these two snakes were talking about her.
Sorry, that was probably an insult to snakes.
The weaponshed was.....interesting.It was a small, run-down wooden cabin you'd expect to see in a horror movie..... well, at least without the blood.
They pushed me inside, and right at the door I was greeted with a bunch of spears, swords, daggers, axes and other such things that my grandmother would probrably have an aneurysm if she saw me use them
》so-《 deimos started
》-what weapons do you want to use? We have a wide selection! This was swords was used in the trojan war but...hm...who was it again? Euysthes?《
he looked towards phobos. 》no, i think his name was eurylochus《
The sword they were pointing to was HUGE probrably around a head bigger than me. I politely declined, my eyes still wide.
I never really liked swords, I guess. Me and my friend were at a ren-fair with mom once when I was ten, and I got to try out some weapons!
Swords were always too heavy for me, but according to everyone around me, I was an ace with bows and crossbows.
》Uh....I'm better with long distance weapons? Do you have any bows? Or crossbows? Anything like that?《
deimos huffed in annoyance.
》booooringggggg!! Geez, you can't even see the bloodshed properly with a bow! You can't even relish in the gore yiy caused with a stab!- but I suppose if you insist... 《
He nudged phobos, him grumbling slightly as he pulled out a dusty long-bow in the corner.
》this bow was used by your ancestor, Odysseus. He stopped using it the moment he killed all the suitors and unfaithful maids- so...have fun stringing it. It's supposed to be impossible, you know~《
》Uh.....sure....I'll try it《
I tried to heat it up a bit with my hands to make it a bit more payable, before attempting to string it. Oddly enough, I got it on the first try.
The first try having taken 10 minutes.
Either way, the twin gods looked duly impressed.
-hm....you've managed to string my bow....i can't say I'm not impressed-
Odysseus spoke in my mind, and I could hear the proud tone in his voice. Almost as if I was his child.
The next few minutes were a blur. They measured me to make sure I'd get the right armor, which was apparently made in Hephaestus' forge himself.
I was about to ask about that, but right at that moment, Aileen ran into the cabin.
》my lords, laertes.....emergency announcement. Laertes needs to go to chiron, we'll meet pheobe, Aileen , mellie and Jason there ......it's...far too important. Its about the other place《
》what other place?!《 I asked in confusion
》you'll see....《
And with that, she ran. Leaving me no choice but to follow.
Sacred Realm updated! :D
New chapter new ramble here I am!
Sacred realm has returned with Chapter 4, named The hearald and the gorons, (Considering we start by climbing death mountain this brings me joy.
I'll get the important stuff done, This is done with permission from @zelda-the-sacred-realm, and all art from the comics belongs to the comic artist.
The link to the comic can be found here! Go give it some love it's expertly done! :D
Now, grab some popcorn and a drink, sit down someplace comfortable and have fun!
Lets go!
It absolutely must be said the backgrounds of this comic never cease to amaze me at how detailed they are. I low key almost feel as cold as it looks there. It's damn incredible.
Oh man i love him so much he's so sweet
He's just a curious little bab
Time really do be >:(
Name drop! :D Huzzah!
Link you innocent bean
Is that who i think it is?
checks notes
IT IS
Okay okay okay Time to do my research. I'll go into it more when we get through the panels with him in.
This is so sweet, Interesting that he knew Twi when he was alive. (Note the lack of fun yellow glow that the other spirits have)
Calling him master. Considering what we know from twilight princess and the hero of time and the hero of twilight this makes a bunch of sense.
Oh he's so pretty
So from my understanding of Twilight's lore, He sees time as a mentor (Hence calling him master.) Twilight seems to be alive here, so i would say that this is either during his actual adventure or just after it, meaning that the area we see around them must be Twilight's time.
(Also Epona beloved)
OH MY GOD HE DID IT THE HERO
WE GOT A TIME BOOP IN COMIC IT IS CANON NOW
link will 100% do it again, maybe even Twilight will get involved.
Trying to decipher what Sky was saying here was fun, also Sky being protective of Link gives me life okay
Sky truly is the best
God these enemies are so cool!
The cinnamon roll needs assistance, is that why he's in orange? Cause he's a little cinnamon roll?
(New headcanon you can't stop me)
Save him
SKYYYYYY
Protective Sky is the best Sky alright
He's so cool!
But the lines I assume are from the spirit barrier from before. Like he's fighting the barrier to be here? Is this gonna hurt Sky to do this? It looks like he's struggling.
I'm going to assume he can't keep this up forever and this is a last resort move.
And Time knowing Sky?! Hello? Makes me wonder if the spirits have been in contact like this.
But I've got a theory about this
I think Time may have not been the only one to aid Twilight. Hence why he knows Sky.
I dont have much to base this on right now but I'm hoping we will see more about this in the next chapter so I can elaborate on this further.
Also look at Link grabbing Time's scarf like he's a toddler, the little question marks are just so adorable and I love this man okay.
Okay, I think thats everything! Thank you so much for hanging out with me as I go through this comic and yell about my faves and the cinnamon roll that is this iteration of link.
And thanks again to the artist for letting me do this!
Hope you have a wonderful day! :D
My 2024 Essay/Analysis
It’s the end of the year once again, this year was a huge roller coaster, probably the biggest, from grief to hopelessness to having a better ending. As said before, I’m going to break down each month and rank them with a synopsis of them
Let’s get right into it
1. January (7)
This month was fairly decent, nothing much happened this month from what I remember, but the benefit was starting my 11th Grade show.
2. February (11)
This month was the second worst of 2024, this was because someone I was close to became very unwell this whole month which ended up in them passing away on the 24th, this was my first time dealing with a passing of a close person in my life, so it was very rough to deal with. I was speechless when I found it out but also just very upset.
3. March (4)
This month was also pretty decent, I had my 11th Grade show which ended up magnificent and was the beginning of the fourth chapter of the PUZZLEVISION saga which added on to Mr. Puzzles and his character which made me extremely hyped.
4. April (9)
This month was great at the start, but bad at the end. It started with complications with my ex at first which just ended up in me making a very long exposure doc, but after that, it was me being hyped up for the PUZZLEVISION stuff and ended up really enjoying the PUZZLEVISION movie where I got hooked onto Creative Control; however, four days after the release of PUZZLEVISION, someone who was also very close to me passed away which ended up in grief.
5. May (5)
This month was probably one of my tops, I had Prom which was also on the same day Mr. Puzzles returned via Mario The Exploro and TADC episode 2 released, other than that it was pretty chill, besides a specific someone raiding my stream and harassing me throughout the month.
6. June (12)
This month was the worst month I experienced in 2024, I faced a ton of online harassment from my past, rumors, and accusations of very bad stuff like p3d0ph1l14 and r4c1$m, this caused a ton of traumatic events which harmed me both mentally and physically. I got death threats, dox threats, was fat shamed (despite them not knowing what my body looked like), told I should be thrown in a ditch, everyone kept leaving, and was called a “bitch” COUNTLESS times; if I had a nickel for every time someone called me that this year, I’d be rich. I also had to deal with final exams, this whole entire month was nothing but negative which caused the entire rollercoaster of the year to plummet to the lowest of the low, this was the worst I had ever felt in my life; however, the best thing of this month was interacting with Atticus Shaffer, the voice actor of Ono from The Lion Guard.
7. July (3)
This month got a bit better, I got a new girlfriend who treats me a million times better than my ex and we started dating, I had my birthday which was a lot of fun and one day after, “A Night At SMG4’s” released and I watched it with my best friend, we had a lot of fun when she came. I also got more into Church, Christianity, and got baptized on the 28th.
8. August (10)
This month started out a little calm since Part 1 of the Ms. Puzzles fan dubs released and I worked on SMG4 The Musical, but got rough because of that one person who harassed me in my streams who started to get progressively worse; post something about me that’s complete bullshit, tell me to use a gun as a $H substitute, raid my Discord server, record my voice without my consent or knowledge, use my voice as AI, and gaslight/manipulate everyone, including a friend of mine who was under his “control”, this caused huge devastation in my server and online which ended up in a lot of negativity, he eventually stopped thanks to my friend who was manipulated by him. The best thing of this month was the finale of Murder Drones. At the end of this month, I joined RichardAnimations’ Discord Server
9. September (2)
This month was pretty decent, started my first year of 12th Grade and just had regular things, I did feel different after I got back from Summer Vacation though, I started to be friends with everyone in Richard’s server including Richard himself, even befriend someone. This was also the month where Part 6 of my Ms. Puzzles fan dub released which became the most popular. The worst thing of this month was the discovery that James Earl Jones passed away.
10. October (1)
This month was the best month of 2024, TADC Episode 3 released and it was really good. While I did have a lot of stress on my mind and battling with something I’d rather not talk about at the beginning, my 12th Grade show got revealed and I had a lot of hype for WOTFI 2024 both before and after the trailer came out which distracted my negative thinking, but when the trailer came out, that’s when I got very hyperfixated on Chapter 6 of the Puzzlevision Saga, I went to a Halloween event the day the trailer came out dressed up as Mr. Puzzles and someone noticed me, it was so fun dressing up as Mr. Puzzles and being him for the day, WOTFI 2024 came out and I made it on time after being scared I wouldn’t make it and I was already obsessed with it, especially Puzzle Park. I first heard it and thought it was the same scenario as “The Wonderful Puzzle Park” at the beginning of the “rap”, but instead it was the song and my jaw DROPPED when the beat changed and I was VIBING IN MY SEAT when watching and listening to it, I have listened to it every day since WOTFI 2024 released and haven’t broken the streak once and this also caused me to have an interaction with Brendan Blaber himself, the voice actor of Mr. Puzzles. That same day was also Homecoming and I had a lot of fun there. October 19th, 2024 was easily the best day of 2024. Listening to “The Wonderful Puzzle Park” gives me nostalgia of sitting in my seat and watching WOTFI 2024 because it was that good. After that, I was singing Puzzle Park almost 24/7, in the shower, while playing video games, even lip syncing and humming it at school. My “WOTFI 2024 Rap But The Lyrics Are What Happens On Screen” video went down as my second most popular video and in October, I reached ≈1.5K subscribers in less than a month which is the most I’ve achieved in less than a month in the entirety of TLG88 history. I also discovered that I got the lead role in my 12th Grade show. When Halloween came, I dressed up as Mr. Puzzles and everyone kept saying my costume was nice and someone said I quote, “Had the drip” which made me laugh, Halloween was also one of the best days of 2024.
11. November (6)
This month started out a little rough but ended up being a bit neutral for me, it wasn’t good or bad, just neutral. The release of SMG4 The Musical came out though and I started working on a secret AU that I might announce soon. The best part of this month was hands down watching Wicked and it pays respect to someone who was very dear to me.
12. December (8)
There isn’t much about this year that much, I had the final part of VOMPBHF which turned out well, but this month just didn’t feel like Christmas was coming at all, no matter what was showing up that was Christmas related, this was later changed when I watched nostalgic Christmas movies. Christmas was meh. The best part of this year was TADC Episode 4 and getting/playing In Stars And Time which has become my second favorite video game and I created the SMG4 x In Stars And Time AU.
The best day of 2024: October 19th, 2024
The worst day of 2024: June 8th, 2024
Overall I thought this year was a little shitty in the beginning then turned really shitty in the middle and got so much better in October then it went slightly downhill after that. Some of the stuff that happened this year was pretty chaotic outside of my own life such as thousands of YouTubers being exposed for being p3d0s and horrible people LIKE OH MY GOODNESS IS IT THAT HARD TO BE A DECENT HUMAN BEING FOR ONCE IN YOUR LIFE?! P3D0S ARE BAD AND YOU SHOULD’VE KNOWN THAT SINCE THE DAWN OF TIME! We also lost the lives of so many celebrities such as James Earl Jones and Ken Page. This year has been stressing for me and I believe the entire world for all of these things arising. I hope that 2025 will be a better year than this year because this year was the worst year of my life, but it doesn’t mean that things didn’t cheer me up, because things definitely cheered me up this year, but overall it was very stressing and probably the worst year of my life
Thank you so much for sticking with me and my channel in 2024, as much as we had very bad moments from p3d0/r4c1$m accusations to bringing up past mistakes, I’m glad I’m here with all of you and I pray that 2025 will be a better year than what 2024 has brought us
See you in 2025!
Ok I’m literally just writing down every random thought I have as I progress through the chapter.
1. Eddie the deepthroating king
2. The ENTIRE honeymoon period was just so fucking sweet. They love each other so much I wanna die. I think one of my favourite things about your writing is how obsessed Steve and Eddie are with each other in every single story.
3. Eddie and Steve swapping secrets. Hearing their pasts, especially Eddie’s in more detail was everything to me. My heart just broke for both of them. Obviously what Eddie had done in the commune was wrong but the kid was 14!!! And clearly brainwashed. Neither of them should have ever gone through what they did.
4. Every bit of Jonathan content has me so curious. Not shocked he was dealing. But saying Billy is his friend? Did Eddie make him do this? Was this all part of Eddie’s greater plan? Did he WANT Billy to be all psycho on steroids and hurt Steve??? God I really need to go back and re-read the whole story.
5. I need to know what happened to Chrissy. And with Eddie. With Chrissy AND Eddie and WHO did he stab to get into prison? Again, I need to re-read this whole story cause my memory is shocking so idk if this has already been mentioned.
6. I know it’ll be part of his greater plan but Eddie telling a junkie about the prostitution of Steve probably knowing it’ll get back to Hopper???? (I’m assuming that’s why he did it???)
7. When they were talking about who has dated who I was holding my breath half expecting Eddie and Nancy to confess or something. Maybe I’m crazy for thinking it.
8. JORDAN BEING MISSING??? Eddie you PSYCHOPATH
9. When steve meets the six is he going to notice the lip scar?!?!?!
10. Reading this Billy compared to SS Billy is WILD
11. I spent the whole chapter wanting Eddie’s POV and then when it happened I was so nervous. I’m always just so nervous for whatever bombshell he’ll drop. But no we got the SWEETEST tattooing scene I’ve ever witnessed
12. Wait DID EDDIE ORGANIZE FOR JONATHAN TO MOVE?!???! Did I miss that?? Is that new or am I misreading?
13. Eddie knowing when Little Steve is about to make an appearance!! 10/10
I don’t know what else to say. The way you write is so beautiful. I love every bit of this story. I am most likely going to spend the next few weeks (yes WEEKS cause this story is fucking LONG) re-reading the whole story cause I think I’ve forgotten a lot of details and need to start putting together the pieces of the puzzle
Also is it new that you added a final chapter count of 30 for this on A03 or am I just noticing that now? Cause 30 CHAPTERS??? Are you telling me we’re just a bit over half way????
Ok bye, have a nice day
Sarah??!!😭😭😭🌈✨️this is so so lovely!!! Thank you!!!
Yes, it's 30 planned chapters total now.
Eddie is behind the move to NY for Jon, yes! There's a deleted Prism scene where it's Jon' POV (set after the restaurant scene with Nancy's fancy people and then Steve being wine drunk at Nancy's place) that shows a little more insight into this but its Eddie behind wanting Jon to move away!
The lip scar is a prosthetic Zachary wore to throw Robin off and guide the description towards Jordan.
Eddie let it spread about Billy selling Steve because he knew Hopper would interfere and bend the rules for him, the way Hopper had done many times in the past for Jon. Eddie has Hopper's weaknesses well and truly clocked.
The Chrissy/Eddie story is revealed in Part Three!
Eddie got into a bar fight and stabbed the guy, landing him in prison the first time. It's just an unknown guy whose brother was a cop (or IS he??!)
The Jon - Billy stuff was really fun to seed and there's still a little more to unravel there but essentially Jon was selling steroids to Billy of his own volition because he sort of *was* low key friendly with Billy at the time, but was reporting it all to Eddie ofc. Eddie then knew about the steroids, Billy was the one who wanted the steroids, though, he's been on them since he was 17 so he could be strong enough that no one could ever hurt him again but it's also a source of HUGE shame for him and he'd never admit he used them.
And finally yes, Eddie Munson's non existent gag reflex, we love you!!
Thank you SO much again!
❤️🌈✨️
