These are theories based in nothing but hope and conjecture and not actual textual evidence.

Rhys' bond with Feyre existed before she was made fae. He had visions of her when he was UTM and she was only human.

There is no textual evidence to suggest that Elain or Nesta's mates were decided the moment they were put in the Cauldron.

If their bonds are anything like Feysands, which at least Nessian's seems to be, then the Cauldron being affected by the Asteri quite literally doesn't matter. Feyre didn't come into contact at all with the Cauldron until she was already fae. Her and Rhys were already mates and had accepted their bond by the time she laid eyes on it for the first time.

So, unless you now believe ALL the bonds come from the Cauldron and therefore are all tainted, and by extension Nesta and Elain themselves are ALSO tainted, then this is a non-sequitur.

You can't have it both ways where only the Elain and Lucien bond are conveniently tainted and yet Elain and Nesta who physically went into the Cauldron, as well as the other two mate bonds, aren't.

Even after A Court of Silver Flames, there is still much about Nesta's powers that is a mystery to us, and SJM herself has told Nesta journey has only beggan. Me and @lady-embers believe that her connection to Mother will be addressed in the upcoming books, and one theory that  we particularly like is that The Mother was responsible for giving Nesta her connection to the Starborns, and Nesta will eventually rule the Dusk Court. In this art, we sought to represent the moment when this happens, with Gwydion choosing Nesta as his rightful owner and an eight-pointed star tattoo shining on her skin.

It hurts my heart how defeated Nesta is in in HOFAS. Rhysand and Cassian need to fuck off and go jump and die in a ditch somewhere. I'm all for killing every member of the Inner Circle but Rhysand and Cassian have gotta go first. EMBER QUINLAN MY QUEEN!!!! Oh how it warmed my heart to see Ember stand up for Nesta. The mother Nesta deserved, the mother that would bring Nesta back from her defeat in HOFAS. Strong, fierce, experience with assholes like Rhysand; she dealt with the Autumn King after all. WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH THE INNER CIRCLE???? FIRST TAMLIN NOW NESTA??? BOTH OF THEM SAVED THEIR SORRY ASSES. NO GRATEFULNESS WHATSOEVER. FUCK OFF! I might just write Ember Quinlan and Nesta Archeron bonding and kicking Rhysand and Cassian's asses once and for all. Also, it amuses me how both Bryce and Ruhn don't think Rhys is worth jack shit either. It's almost like nobody likes the Inner Circle outside of their little cult meetings.
