Substance_D. I started this piece sometime ago around the release date of Cyberpunk 2077 and given that CDProject Red has finally finished the game(which I knew they eventually would), it made sense to finish off this piece. And I have to say, it's a fun game with interesting characters, non-linear levels, quest lines, and fantastic voice acting. And ofcourse the visuals. Holy shit! It's insane how CDPR has been able to merge so many of Cyberpunk influences from Blade Runner, GITS, Akira, Dredd, PKD's work, Gibson's work especially so much from Johnny Mnemonic! In most open-world games, I find myself using the fastest means of transport to just get to the objective but in this case, I found myself walking around and later double-jumping and dash around the world. I'm really glad that CDPR was able to deliver this even after the debacle. I would highly recommend the game in it's current state.

Now for some spoilers- Certain interactions and choices just made no sense, like V's reaction to seeing Reeds kill the twins. My version of V had made people commit mass suicide on overdrive for an NCPD sidequest. I wished the game incorporated more roleplay-based elements in there. Near the end I almost played like a Cyberpyscho but without the consequences. When I started the game, I missed the 3rd person cinematics cos in most games they add that character-player familiarity and actually make you care a bit more but then I played the Temperance ending which I think is the best ending of the game. Without spoiling much- playing this ending had me eat my words- you see your V for the first time in the 3D world(not counting mirrors or when riding bikes) creating this out-of-body experience as you play as Johnny now, it's harrowing, especially to see your V begging Johnny to make a decision and anyone who has paid attention to Johnny's ramblings throughout the game, it only made sense for him take the body. I know a lot of people are going to disagree but man, it's been ages since I played a game where I had to actually think about my decision.

I’m here for all the betrayal headcanon but as far as my own expectations/headcanons go, I think Jaskier and Radovid will be separated by something far more nefarious than betrayal or family or magic or being forced to choose sides; I think their separation will come down to politics and societal expectations *shudders*

But the internet was kind enough to spoil for me that Visimir dies and Radovid ascends to the throne.

Radovid comma Prince who spends all days drinking (allegedly) flirting with guys (canonically) and being King’s idiot, vapid younger brother can one hundred percent have a perfectly acceptable relationship with a wayward bard who may or may not be a viscount.

Radovid The King? Yeah. Nah. He will be excepted to get married to someone who can push out a heir, and his relationship will be fully political and arranged and not in a sexy fanfic way. I can even see the push to betroth him to Ciri and wouldn’t that be a wonderfully fucked up.

Now, HAVING SAID THAT, Redania is clearly based on fake medival Poland and heirs were never be all end all for us. We had a woman inheriting the throne and being crowned king (ask you local Pole about queen Jadwiga). We had country being split into pieces to avoid succession wars. And of course we had elective monarchy (yea that thing from the end of GoT that people made fun of is how Poland would get its monarchs for hundreds of years).

Radovid could totally announce he’s not getting any wives thank you very much and marry a dude (coughsJaskiercoughs) since clearly gay marriages are a thing that exists in N!Witcher!verse and just choose his successor. But to do that he’d have to hold actual power which I don’t think Djiekstra will allow. Radovid will be his puppet and for his own good and the good of the county he will be forced to play along and dance.

Jaskier may be no more than A Thing On The Side which in any other circumstance he’d accept… except here. Because he actually loves Radovid and that would break him.

(Obv they are getting a happy ending after the war hahahah I’m talking about the end of s3 and s4 ofc ofc. Yea my boys are getting their happy ending thank you very much for asking)

Way to fucking yank V's chain, So Mi. You manipulative little gremlin!

I love it.

Going in, I was absolutely sure there wouldn't be a happy end for V. That's just not Cyberpunk, is it?

But the longer it went on I figured...why not? Maybe! Maybe something small. Something along the line of an extension to V's lease on life.

Maybe something using that personality copy implant to somehow get the far fetched Idea of Johnny and V staying and just swapping around.

I know, I know. Far fetched, unlikely and very Fanfiction influenced.

But I did end up hoping. Despite the warning signs.

And CDProject Red expertly crushed it.

I thought, having my fishy heart ripped out by the base game endings was enough to prepare me.

It didn't feel quite as intense, since I didn't go in completely unaware of anything Cyberpunk. But it still managed.

For now it smarts. The hope dying. The effort being for naught.

Running the paranoia gauntlet and still either not catching on or deliberately ignoring it because...well. Hope, I guess.

Thinking the blatant betrayal is the worst of it. Knowing that she did all these thing, said all the right words. Hand picked V because she knew they would.

Alone. Desperate.

Same thing anybody would probably do if they're backed into a corner this tightly. What's some random NC Kleptopunk with broken tech in their head, talking to a ghost? One of thousands.

Or maybe it's cause V betrayed their fair share of people, sacrificed their aspirations and wellbeing just to survive. And in the end, the one they betrayed people for ended up being the bigger fish.

Betrayed and outplayed.

Once I've processed, I'll be glad. In Night City, this is probably the only outcome that would fit.

Dreams get ruined here. You win some, you lose some. People will use you for their means and everybody's own survival comes first. And even if you do make it, could you necessarily live with that? And with yourself?

Nobody gets a happy ending unless they leave.

If they get to leave.

I need this thing to be five times longer and triple the heartbreak.

On a different not: love that Bond-like outro.

Rather than individual games, in your opinion, which studios are the best? Any reason. Examples: CDProject Red only has 2 games, but they're both bangers. Every single Rockstar Game is awesome in their own way. Bethesda has an impressive catalogue, even though some games can be underwhelming.Warhorse has 2 games and both have a cult following. Az a bajom, hogy tényleg nagyon hasonlít Klaudiára Yennefer of Yennerberg karaktere, és akár hogy osztok\szorzok mindig oda lyukadok ki, hogy sanszos.

2015-ben jelent meg a játék, de már 2013-tól készült. És a lengyel CD projectben dolgozták ki a Varázslónőt, pont ott, ahol sok magyar is munkát vállalt! (A Ciberpunk2077 cím se véletlen volt anno).

Nem azt állítom hogy biztos, de azt sem tudom gondolni, hogy nem.

Számtalan párbeszéd emlékeztet 2011\12-re... Tényleg. Végülis akkoriban hülyéskedtem az unikornissal is. - Crazy

+ Nem bánom hogy ilyen lett, igazából rendben is van. De azért uh. Megint inspiráció.

Kezdjük ott, hogy a Witcher mind a könyveiben, mind pedig a videojáték trilógiában kissé káoszosra sikerült, hasonlóan a Netflix sorozathoz. Ain'tudom miért, de az biztos hogy baromira jó hangulatot tud a sztori ezzel a szétszálazással teremteni, mondjuk baráti pub beszélgetésekhez.

A könyvekben fokozatosan találkozunk Varázslónőkkel, és igazából Andrzej Sapkowski nem romantikus regényeket kezdett el írni anno, ezért igazán kiismerhető részleteket sohasem kaptunk a női szereplőkről. Nem lehet tudni melyik nő, igazából milyen... = Ezt ki kellett találniuk egyaránt a játékfejlesztőknek, és a Netflix sorozat készítőinek is.

A játékot gyártó CDProject az I., és II. részben még teljesen kihagyta Yennefert azzal a hazugsággal, hogy túl bonyolult lett volna kidolgoznia a szereplőt. A valóság az, hogy a varázslónő történetét inkább összegyurták Triss-el, Ciriét pedig egy Alvin nevű fiúéval. Nagy valószínűséggel, az akkori jogi viták elkerülése végett történhetett ez a szándékos, és szemét malör.

De idővel a rajongók, illetve az író is megkövetelte hogy a III. rész legyen hűségesebb az eredeti műhöz, és kezdjék el korrektebben kidolgozni a fő és a mellékszereplőket.

2015-re pedig mind Yennifer, és mind pedig Ciri életre keltek.

Végül pedig 2019-re Netflix tette meg azt, hogy több részen át részletesen bemutatta Yennefer fiatalkorát a varázslónők útján, amiből érthető miért is önző, néha 🌶️, és hatalmas mágus.

Mivel ezt a játékot teljesen kihagytam anno, hiszen egy percet sem értem rá ilyesmikre... CSAK most, pótlólagosan esett le, hogy Yennefer tényleg tisztára olyan lett, mint ő... 💯 Ahogyan bepózol, félre néz, vissza szól...

Jó game.🎮 Egy Millennál gyöngyszem.

I think I like this video series? Just a chill rational take on things. I also agree that to say BG3 should be the new standard is really downplaying it’s Herculean achievement.

It’s a once in a decade achievement. By a dev that probably can’t ever pull it off again. How many Witcher 3s does CDProject have?

Didn’t the refrain used to be ‘smaller games with worse graphics?’ Now we want games to be as big as BG3? Idk
